Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football, say for it and rejoice it never
gets sold from the radio. Call the Philadelphia Eagles and
Merril Reeze.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
What's up? Everybody? Welcome to that GMFP live in LA
and New York.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Although all of us are looking squarely at Philadelphia tomorrow
with the parade, It's Thursday, February thirteenth. Here's awkward box,
should be a Milla. There's Kyle Brandt, There's Omar Ruiz.
I'm jbart All, slowly but sureley working through all the
green and my wardrobe.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
I bought an Eagles and a Chief's T shirt from
a street vendor in New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Not a weird interaction whatsoever on.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Sunday morning, Super Bowl morning in New Orleans, and I said,
you know what, I'll wear the winner T shirt on Friday.
So I got my Eagles final T shirt. Come five
bucks coming in tomorrow on the show, Kyle, I'm very
much looking forward to my addition to my wardrobe on
the streets.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Of New Orleans.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
I believe you it looks great and I think it's a
perfect segue talking about closing wardrobe. You ever lay out
all the things that you need for a trip, and
there's no possible way they can fit in your suitcase.
That is how I feel right now with the exercise
we are about to do with the Eagles. There are
way too many good players on the Eagles to do
what we are about to do with the Eagles. So
(01:31):
let's figure it out together and Jamie maybe can tell
us what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Let's do it all right, it's an activity.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
We all have our whiteboards out and we are all
sweating profusely because of what Kyle just mentioned. So let's
get to our first exercise here.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
On GMFB.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Listen, it was a team effort for Philadelphia to earn
their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. So here are
whiteboards put in whichever direction you have, and I guess
I already am going to admit break the segment however
you like, because I already did when it comes to
my top five lists, Kyle. The exercise and the challenge
is as follow.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Jamie, can I ask you why are you breaking the segment?
Why break the segment knowingly, willingly and deliberately? Why not
just keep the segment unbroken?
Speaker 2 (02:13):
There's nothing more triggery for Kyle than admitting that you
already broke to segment.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Can I just say, I.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Already put my own guardrails up like it's you just
said yourself.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
It's too hard of an assignment.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
We're not trying to I'm not trying to fail my
class here on the second hour GMFB. Already, Can I
just play the game the way I want to play it?
Or do you want me to totally rewrite my list?
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Already?
Speaker 2 (02:32):
No?
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Go ahead, right, So what are we doing? We're ranking
our top five Eagles right now?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Right now? Your top five Eagles, Kyle, go you.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Know what's weird? I have one, two, three, and I
have five. I can't come up with four, so I'm.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
Going to have to do it right here.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
And this this is ultimate testimony to the Eagles that
it is so difficult to do this.
Speaker 6 (02:53):
And I am.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I already know I'm going to have a big snub,
but that's the fun of this, all right, I'm going
to turn it around. Hold on here, it is all right,
Number five, which I told you I had already, I
have Jalen Hurts. He is the Super Bowl MVP, but
in terms of how he plays his position relative to
the other teammates that he has playing their position had
been five and number four, I put Jordan Mailatta. This
guy's been doing it for a few years now. He's
(03:15):
not new on the scene. He is that left tackle
for Jalen Hurts. Absolutely fantastic player in one of the
All pros. Number three Jalen Carter, very new on the scene.
I think almost single handedly won them the Rams game
at the end of the game when he decided to
call game on Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
Number two I have Lane Johnson.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
I think he was the best tackle in the sport
this year, even better than my lot over on the
right side.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Is it possible?
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Lane, who's been with them for what feels like a decade,
had his best season now And the number one I
have Saquon Barkley. I have Saquon at his position is
better than any Eagle is at theirs.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
He jumped over someone backwards this year.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
I don't think any other running back in the league
could do that, and if they could, they wouldn't have
the hootspun.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
To try it.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
That is my five, and I know I have some snubs,
but that's the point of this.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Guys, what do you have for your top five?
Speaker 7 (04:00):
Well, this one was very, very difficult, but I started
off too with something a little different. But it is
no doubt. Number five. I have to start off with
Lane Johnson. I agree, he's absolutely one of the top
offensive tackles in the league.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
Number four.
Speaker 7 (04:20):
Wide receiver AJ Brown, And you know, he may not
have the numbers that we expect out of him because
of the way this offense is ran, but I still
believe he not only has the inner excellence, he also
has a lot of those outside route excellence as well.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Number three Jalen Carter.
Speaker 7 (04:36):
The dude is a disruptor, a disruptor, so he comes
in at number three. I had to fight for these
last two right here, and of course there's so many,
there are going to be some snubs. I'll probably get
some hate text messages and Twitter tweets.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Here we go.
Speaker 7 (04:53):
Number two Jalen Hurts. I got to put some respect
on this man's name. I'll put it on it. He
may not say a lot to you, he may only
give you a couple of smiles here and there, but
the dude is cool, smooth, and he did it. He
was the MVP, So he gets number two. And then
number one is obvious, mister Sequon Barkley.
Speaker 6 (05:13):
Wow, there it is.
Speaker 8 (05:14):
Our lists are very similar to San Diego State guys
agreeing on all right, this list here.
Speaker 6 (05:19):
Okay, here's my top five.
Speaker 8 (05:21):
And just like you couldn't name a defensive player for
Super Bowl MVP for the Eagles because so many were good,
Zach bond I had him representing the defense. Really for
his play throughout the year, a Defensive Player of the
Year candidate much of the twenty four season.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
He's number five, Number four Lane.
Speaker 8 (05:39):
Johnson, And just like Kyle indicated with Jordan Mylotta, you
could have picked any number of these offensive linemen Jeff Stoutlin,
the real MVP, the offensive line coach. They've been playing
so well for so long. Have been a heart and
soul type of position group for this team and such
a big reason for their success, not only twenty twenty
four seas on say Kwon Barkley, but really over this
last eight.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
To ten year period. Number three A J. Brown. He
is a game changer. I think of.
Speaker 8 (06:04):
Guys like Cooper Cup and Robert Woods when they came
into the Rams and elevated Jared Goff's game. Stefan Diggs
elevating Josh Allen's game when he went to Buffalo and
aj Brown when he went to the Philadelphia Eagles in
twenty twenty two, really helping Jalen Hurts elevate his game
and the way that he plays so passionately, the physicality
that he plays with out at wide receiver, the selflessness,
(06:28):
how he can lead and call teammates out in the
locker room. He's number three for me. And then of
course there it is the Super Bowl MVP. Jalen Hurts
for what he does in the biggest moments for this
Philadelphia Eagles team. We've seen what he's done twice now
in Super Bowl opportunities. Almost seven hundred yards of offense,
all those touchdowns. There, he is the real MVP.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
And then is anybody gonna break this year?
Speaker 8 (06:51):
Say Awn Barkley again number one, arguably the MVP for
much of the season period in the NFL. We know,
of course that Josh Allen won, but you can make
an argument for Saquon Barkley and a reason why the
Eagles had huge success this season.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Kyle, I know that I have an obligation to break
the segment because you three just put safe on Barkley
at number one, and I don't have him at number one,
so I gotta make things interesting because I always go last.
My top five is all defensive guys, because they just
held the Kansas City Chiefs to a thirty four nothing start,
the largest deficit in Patrick Mahomes's career, through his regular season,
(07:30):
through his playoffs, through every single Super Bowl, he has
never been down thirty four to nothing.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Thanks defense. That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Okay, at thirty four points is great, and you guys
can give all. I'm gonna start with Chauncey Gardner Johnson.
This guy is like the emotional emotional touchstone for the
Eagles defense, and that's a little dangerous because he's kind
of crazy and we all kind of like it.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
So Chauncey Gardner Johnson, you are my number five. Josh Sweat.
You are an absolute menace.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
There were Eagles never blitzed, yet his pressure rate was
through the roof.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
What a wild thing.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
The fact that you just sacked Patrick Mahomes as a
collective six times, Josh, what was a big part of that. Cooper, congratulations,
They are my number three top five Eagle. Cooper Gene
the rookie his first pick comes into Super Bowl and
it's a pick six ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
The upside is bright.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
On his birthday for Cooper de Gene and our guy
is Zach Bond again two reviews. Zach Bond signed is
a free agent last March and plays his way into
a Defensive Player of the Year candidacy insane to see
his highlights go up.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
During NFL honors.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Of course, the honor goes to Patzertan, but Zach Bond
very deserving and honestly, like to Kyle's Jalen not hurts
Carter because if this guy is anchoring the back end,
this guy is everything that the Eagles want to be
up top.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
And there is a scene of.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Jalen Carter standing in his locker in New Orleans after
that game. Everyone else is losing their minds and he's
just standing there, so chill. This guy has won so
much at Georgia and now he's a Super Bowl champion.
These are my top five Eagles right now, and Vic
Fangio a hell of a crew.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
This is why these are my top five favorite Eagles. Kyle,
I told you I broke to segment. I just wanted
to go all defense.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
You actually didn't break the segment though, that was pretty cool.
Speaker 8 (09:13):
Did you know we were all going to go take
one number one and decided to do that?
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Well, all I know is that Kyle would throw as
a racer at the board if we all had the
same number one answer.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
So no, no, no, here's the problem.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
The problem is, Jamie, is that when you hold up
the board and whatever you want, there's no context, there's
no explainer. So when you put all four of the
boards on Instagram or something, they it appears that you
think CJ. Gardner Johnson is a better player than Lane Johnson,
and so I'm looking out for you. There's no the
context whatsoever. So it's just like, it's what the hell
(09:48):
is that list? I'm sure you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
You know, I agree with you, and maybe and I
already erased it, but maybe I should have put thirty
four nothing at the top of my board a lot
of the same way people say twenty eight to three,
and then like, you know, the reference point, Like my
reference point is thirty four nothing, and a lot of
that sure had to do with the guys that you
listed offensively, but zero is zero and zero has.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
A lot to do with the defense.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
So I went top five defensive guys as my top
five Eagles. Right now, I'll look you come at me Instagram,
I don't even here. We're I'm about to delete that
app off my phone for an entire week. Back on
Good Morning Football, here we go, Big Fangio, number one Eagle.
You know what, Carolina, Carolina, Carolina. I had him there,
(10:29):
and I was too terrified of Kyle Brandt's wrath to
leave him there, so I changed it to Jalen Carter,
and I totally reworked my list. Big Fangio, number one Eagle.
Let's go, Carolina.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Enjoy the parade. You deserve it. Big Fangio, You're the
man Omar Well, just.
Speaker 8 (10:42):
Like I had Jeff Stoutlin initially number four and then
decided to put Laide Johnson Well ahead of Super Bowl
fifty nine, NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport reported that last
Sunday's game could potentially be Chiefs tight end Travis Kelsey's last,
and that he would make a decision regarding a possible
retirement before the start of free agency in March. In
the latest edition of his New Heights podcast. After his
(11:04):
team forty to twenty two loss, Kelsey said quote, I
think I'm going to take some time to figure it out.
I think I owe it to my teammates that if
I do come back, it's going to be something that's.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
A wholehearted decision.
Speaker 8 (11:15):
I know everybody wants to know whether or not I'm
playing next year. Right now, I'm just kicking everything down
the road. Elsewhere, the Bengals have some contract decisions to
make with a couple of high profile players, and it
sounds like quarterback Joe Burrow is willing to help out.
On the Pardon My Take podcast, Burrow appearing to be
willing to restructure his contract to give the Bengals some
(11:36):
salary cap flexibility to help pay for the.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Likes of Jamaar Chase and or t Higgins.
Speaker 8 (11:41):
Speaking of contracts, Bill's running back James Cook is entering
the final year of his deal and apparently has a
number in mind when it comes to a new deal.
Cook one on Instagram Live and pin his own comment
that said fifteen.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
Mil a year. That kind of money.
Speaker 8 (11:57):
Would make Cook the second highest paid running back in
the league, only behind Christian McCaffrey and former rules offensive
coordinator Ellen Moore, now the head coach of the Saints,
but tight end Dallas Goddard said he did his best
to convince More to stay in Philadelphia, Goddard saying on
Sirius XM NFL Radio that he gave Hayespiel to More
(12:18):
on why he should run it back with the Eagles
one more year because he was.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
An important part of their Super Bowl run.
Speaker 8 (12:25):
But Goddard also saying he thinks More is going to
be great head coach and wished him all the success
anytime they are not playing the Eagles, and this will
make the fourth year in a row that Nick Sirianni
has to find a new offensive coordinator after Shane Steiken
and Brian Johnson previously. But Akbar, speaking of the Super Bowl,
you have some things you need to get off your chest,
(12:47):
why don't you.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Yeah, therapeutic moment here.
Speaker 7 (12:49):
Yeah, I do need to get some things off my chest.
You know, Look, the twenty twenty four season, it's done.
It's over with. The Super Bowl, it's over with. And
now I've been doing some thinking, some serious thinking about
this Super Bowl. And you know a lot of us
in the industry, myself included, we totally whipped on the.
Speaker 6 (13:06):
Eagles in the Super Bowl. Didn't we like we were
like way off.
Speaker 7 (13:11):
Anyway, that kind of inspired me to do a little something.
You guys know that thank you notes bit by Jimmy
Fallon he kind of does on the Tonight Show.
Speaker 6 (13:20):
Yeah, yeah, we know that one, right. I absolutely love it.
Speaker 7 (13:23):
And so I'm taking a page from his book, and
I'm gonna get real with y'all.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
It's time for some acbar apologies.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
All right, here we go. Where's my pen?
Speaker 5 (13:33):
We got the music?
Speaker 4 (13:34):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (13:34):
Hear the music?
Speaker 7 (13:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (13:35):
There it is?
Speaker 7 (13:36):
Okay, Well, here we go, dear chief old Line. I
am sorry for your loss on Sunday. I haven't seen
a spanking like this since my dad whooped me for
(13:56):
trying to join a gang.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
What are you doing? You want to be a go
get your Yeah? Sorry dad, Sorry that bank Burg gank.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
All right, here we go, Here we go.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
That's it.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
Apologize to that line. To whom this may concern, I know,
I know. This was supposed to be the year of
the Refs finally getting there MVP moment, But then the
Eagles showed up hungry like a pack of angry runners.
(14:37):
I hate to break it to you, but it turns
out there ain't no cheating in this game like my
homegirl Jamie always says, make sure you know how to
play some damn football on Super Bowl Sunday.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
All right, here we go, there's that.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Send that off.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (15:05):
Dear Travis Kelsey, I am sorry that your audition for
the Saturday Night Live excuse me, Saturday Night Fever didn't
go well. I'm sure you're sick that your guy's performance
prevented the Chiefs three peak hopes from staying alive. Ha ha,
(15:28):
staying alive, staying alive.
Speaker 6 (15:30):
All right.
Speaker 7 (15:32):
Dear Patrick Mahomes, I'm sorry you had such a bad Sunday.
The only guy who had a worse Super Bowl was
on tour halfway around the world.
Speaker 6 (15:52):
You might want to show his picture.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Hm.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
Yeah, I'm so sorry about that. You know what, I'm
gonna send that one off, a little bit of licking this.
I'm just gonna put some mustard on that, all right, Okay,
all right, okay, Ipolo, this is my last one.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
One more?
Speaker 7 (16:14):
All right, you're ready for this one?
Speaker 6 (16:16):
All right, here we go.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
Dear Jalen Hurts, I want to apologize forever doubting you
and the Eagles. You overcame getting pulled in the national
championship at Alabama and then losing a Super Bowl two
years later to the now, well, you finally got a
chance to get it done. As the great philosopher Rick
(16:42):
Fleer once.
Speaker 6 (16:43):
Said, to be the man. You gotta beat the man.
Speaker 9 (16:47):
And guess what you brought the Lombardia back to Philly.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
Whoa, you're the man? That was it?
Speaker 9 (16:57):
There you go, I apologize, Hurts, he's back.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
Hurts has plenty of time.
Speaker 6 (17:15):
He's looking, he fights, He completed to head it Hurts
back looking. He is going deep and it is fun
to do the part pas forty six yard the same report.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
It's over.
Speaker 7 (17:33):
The Philadelphia Eagles have won Super Bowl fifty nine.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
They have peaked La Kansas City Chiefs forty to twenty two.
It's been a second Super Bowl Man in seven years.
What a game, what a season, What a team. The
greatest Eagles team in modern history.
Speaker 7 (17:51):
Eagles fans sables and were choice.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
With the Super Bowl in the books.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Now now comes all the breakdowns of what the Eagles
did and how they accomplish it on their way to
running another Lombardi down Broad Street in Philadelphia. With that
in mind, let's welcome inside our film room. The expert.
We love him, Nate Tie. So what's going on Nate doing?
Speaker 10 (18:16):
Yeah, we really need to film breakdown to see that
the Eagles did really well.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah, it was great.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Specifically, I liked I liked one of your tweets from
that day. This was a drop eight creeper with an
off ball linebacker blitzing like. This is the kind of
stuff we put on social media. This is why we
have you on the show. Talk us through either the
drop eight creeper or whatever else.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Vic Fangio and cooking on Super Bowl Sunday.
Speaker 10 (18:37):
We will get to that creeper in a moment, but first,
the person involved in that play, that tweet, that drop
eight creeper, Josh Sweat. Multiple defenders from the Eagles had
multiple pressures two pressures are more. Six of them in fact,
had two or more pressures against the Chiefs. This was
Patrick Mahomes, the highest pressure rased of loud in the game,
(18:58):
I should say a lowd to face in the game,
the fifth highest one his entire career in fluming the playoffs,
And really wasn't just Josh Sweat his six pressures just
by himself. Other guys like Milton Williams stepped up. Other
guys like Jalx Hunt stepped up. Right here you see
Jay ex Hunt, Josh Sweat squeeze in the pocket and
really just going against Joe Tooney who is playing out
a position but still is a solid player there at
(19:20):
left tackle. So Jalx Hunt a young guy stepping up,
and then you got Ojoebu stepping up as well, and
then right here he also fished with four pressures in
this game. Oh Joe moo, I'm so sorry, fished with
a TfL here. I also wanted to highlight Nolan Smith
there just closing in hitting the blocker. So even the guys,
these young guys stepped up on top of the guys
that might get Payton free agency, Milton Williams and Josh Sweat,
(19:42):
as well as the stars like Jalen Carter. It was
just an all around dominant performance from the Eagles defensive line.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
It really was.
Speaker 7 (19:48):
And we know that football is a very complicated game
and it can be, but you know, the great teams
they master the basics. When you look at this game,
how much how much did the fundamental factors factor into
the Eagles defensive success?
Speaker 10 (20:04):
Football, of course, talent matters, especially at this level. But
it's crazy how much the fundamentals do matter. And I mean,
like top tackling and blocking, and that's what the Eagles
did just as well as anybody, if not better than
anybody else. So the Eagles allowed the second fewest mistackles
this season. They also allowed some of the fewest yards
after catch over expected them and the Chiefs. Actually so weird,
(20:24):
the two best tackling teams made the playoffs. So here's
that creeper play right here. That first one was Cooper
and Gene tackling zave you worthy. Here's Josh Swett as
a pass coverage defender chasing down a running back out
in space. And these guys were just as soon as
the Chiefs got into space, when they could get into space,
they were getting down. There was no cheap yards afterwards.
So that's why I just felt so tight throughout the day,
(20:46):
is because the Eagles are just such a good tackling team.
All that zone coverage and it was just epitomize in
the Super Bowl against the Chiefs offense that can kind
of pop these on some.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Other teams, Nate, The Eagles defense was dominant, but I
thought the Eagles offense was fascinating because if you had
heard before the game that Saquon would rush for fifty
seven yards, you think that Philly would get rolled. They
tried really hard to get him going. He touched the
ball twenty seven times in this game, and he could
just never really find the room. And yet they're blowing
(21:18):
out the Chiefs. So what did you see from the
Eagles offense? Because it was so interesting.
Speaker 10 (21:23):
Blocking is just as much as a fundamental as tackling,
and really when you block with guys like Jordan Mayolotta,
that really helps Jordan Myolotta right here, This frillly fun clip.
This is what cool it's cool about offensive line play.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
This is just a backside cut off. He's getting to
the second level.
Speaker 10 (21:38):
Look how fast he is moving there over twelve miles
in an hour, over three hundred and sixty pounds. I
don't know a lot of people are hitting the tread
of three hundred six pounds through twelve min hour. But
Sekon Barkley here might not have a big production day,
but here his pass protection. This is blocking with the
offensive line. This is Saquon Barkley. This allowed Jalen Hurts
to hit that go ball to Jahan Dotson early in
the game to set up that first touchdown. So even
(22:00):
when Sakon Barkley didn't have the production and the run
game wasn't there because the Chiefs were really selling out
against the run, Sakuon Barkley and the blocking still impacted
the game. So Hurts had a nice day and the
passing game was able to overcome. Kind of that slog
on the ground.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
Nate, that big microphone in your face reminds me of
one of those old school DJs.
Speaker 8 (22:18):
This is Casey casem and America's top forty forty points.
Of course, the amount of points that the Eagles scored,
but they were up at one point thirty four to
nothing against the two time defending champions. How were they
able to get that avalanche going against Kansas City?
Speaker 10 (22:34):
Yeah, if you like those the fundamentals. Another fundamental football
is speed, speed, kills, and whether it is offense speed
or defensive speed. I really thought jal when Hursts was
playing with speedy in his head making quick decisions. Here
was a late scramble where he beats an odd mirror
front which is meant to stop him from scrambling, and
I thought Jalen Hurts did a great job planning his
(22:55):
foot and kidding norm So if you like that one,
and here's another top forty hit, there's Cooper dej on
his pick six.
Speaker 6 (23:02):
This is this is fundamentals, This is awareness.
Speaker 10 (23:05):
The pick six was a great mental play and far
as falling off an awareness of being well coached at
vic Fangio.
Speaker 6 (23:11):
But Cooper Degen.
Speaker 10 (23:12):
Also hit twenty one miles an hour on this run
or on this pick six, which was the fastest by
defender with this ball in the sands in the entire
NFL this entire year.
Speaker 6 (23:20):
Including the playoffs.
Speaker 10 (23:21):
So the fundamentals tackling blogging, having really big dudes as well.
If that's what the Eagles just the all the fundamentals
of football mat We.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Had Jlyx Hunt on the show earlier today.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
You just got done talking about Cooper de Gen. One
of my favorite things when a team, any team, wins
the Super Bowl is just thinking about the rookies and.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
How like this is their first year going through this
and look at how they get to cap off this season.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
The Eagles might still be celebrating, but it's going to
be training camp before we know it, and there are
pieces that need to be top priority. This offseason to
keep this roster intact, whether or not it's the young
guys or some of those older guys that might be
considering retiring or walking away to another team.
Speaker 10 (24:01):
What's really crazy with this Eagles team hat tip to
Howie wrote, is that they'll have players step up to
fill the last star or the last contributor. So Haunt
was a great example of that, and Milton Williams and
Josh Swetter both hit hitting free agency.
Speaker 6 (24:14):
Milan Williams, I think.
Speaker 10 (24:15):
Is about to get paid big time. I think twenty
million dollars a year type big time. Milon Williams was
second this year in press rate among defensive tacklescrding to
Next Gen Stats, and he leads kind of one of
the few under the radar type defensive players in the
free agency. Oh so, Ode Gazua from Dallas Cowboys is
another one. Even Chase Young remember his name, atually had
(24:36):
a nice season with the Saints and he's another one
that's stepping up there. And there's a few offensive alignment
as well. But Milon Williams is about to become more
of a household name, at least for some fans going,
oh wait, we're paying that guy, and it's like, yes,
you're paying that guy.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
That's a good thing. Josh Wet's another one of those.
Speaker 10 (24:50):
But it's again hats up to the Eagles because they'll
have the next guy up to replace these guys if
they do not bring them back.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Right, Nate, you said it, speed might kill, But you
know what makes me feel alive?
Speaker 3 (25:00):
The NFL scouting combine. We're are some.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
Quarterbacks that you got to be looking that Shadoor, Sanders
cam Ward. What are we looking at next weekend with
the with the quarterbacks.
Speaker 10 (25:09):
Oh, it's the eye of the beholder draft more than
more so than others. My eyes kind of fancy towards
Riley Leonard, quarterback from Notre Dame. But I think might
test really well and a lot better than people think
because that dude can roll. But there's just a lot
of other interesting guys that they're out there. Dylan Gabriel,
other quarterbacks are stepping up. Jackson Dart from Ole miss
is getting a little bit of hype from office, Senior
(25:30):
Bowl and everything like that. So really testing and all
these interviews is Garely Goetna termine a lot, but it's
slim Pickens with the quarterback class. I'll just be honest.
You know it's gonna be a lot of Day two
guys going okay, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:44):
I guess he has a trait.
Speaker 10 (25:45):
But that's what makes it fun because you might find
that diamond in the rough.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Oh no, there's nothing more insulting when it comes to
draft conversations. I guess he has a trait, just a
singular one.
Speaker 8 (25:54):
Nate.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
That was brutal, but we loved it. Nate Tice, You're awesome.
Thank you so much. Honestly, everything you put out on
social you can tell you love the game, you love film,
and we love when you relive it here on GMFB
and take us inside the film room.
