Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome to Good Morning Football. Mike Carom in Los Angeles,
Isaiah standback, former NFL defensive tackle Jad's ball. Not to
mention our guy Kyle Brandt hanging out in New York
as always, Kyle, I know you're always ready for a
big hour of GMFB.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Always.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
I've never not been ready for a big hour. We
never not had a big hour. This one completely included.
You will not believe the things ready to get into
this segment. I'm just gonna tease it like that. Let's
start the show.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
It's Good Morning Football.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
Yeah, good morning, my mom.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Bright you're early ready to rock and roll and talk
about the greatest sports that has ever been played. It
is NFL Football. Welcome inside our ball. We did learn though,
for Kyle straight line running. We have gone past the
point and been able to go lateral movement. And I
think that's all of us because none of us can
afford to go and get hurt. We've the same can't
(01:12):
do it now, can't do it, won't do it. And
what we will do, though is do a little throwdown Thursday,
because yes, that is the day a week where we'd
start to dominate. The two top overall picks in this
year's draft. We got cam Ward read to RockA roll
in that Teken's uniform. Travis Hunter, boy, I look at
the buzz. It was the last time we talked this
much about the Jags. Both of these guys ready to
(01:34):
rock the roll for the upcoming season, although the Hunter
still has to signed network to contractors. Yeah, it's here
for Brock Callahan and then Travis Hunter on the swag
that these guys both rams.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
To their team.
Speaker 6 (01:46):
I'll be honest, I wasn't used to. I'm not used
to calm plays do a quarterback who's usually still talking
when I'm talking to him, and that's great. And so
I asked him after practice and I said, I just
just helped me out here. Do you need me to
wait till you finish?
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Uh? Or?
Speaker 6 (02:02):
And he goes no, he goes, I'm listening. So he's
hearing what I'm telling him. And it was a pretty
remarkable to see all the things going on and how
much he's talking, but like his brain is still like
with me, I guess it is the best way to
put it. Like when I'm calling him play it's all
he's doing. All he's doing, but he's listening to everything
I'm telling him.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
It's been very easy for me. You know.
Speaker 7 (02:24):
The guys come in and I bring the juice every day.
Always got a smileel off face, make everyone laugh when
I get the chance. So we've just been fun, having
fun and just being kids out here, just loving and
living our dream.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
All right, let's run. Oh, this is just kind of
cool with those when I was a kid. All Right,
you got cab Ward and then you have Travis Hunter.
And it was a couple of weeks ago, Kyle, I
think I heard you, and I think you described it
really well, and that is this is the least talked
about number one overall pick that happens to be a
quarterback that maybe we have ever seen. So I say,
(02:56):
I will let you start here. Which rookie is going
to have a bigger impact this season? Is it Cab
Woard or is it the two way player in Travis Hunter.
Speaker 8 (03:03):
I really like Travis. I like him a lot, but
I'm gonna have to go with cam Ward. The reason
why I gotta go with cam Ward is because the
Tennessee Titans have needed, and I say need a quarterback
right for some time now. They haven't had somebody that's
been situated at that position for a lapse period of
time for a very long time. And I think that
he's gonna have a great impact on that team, not
only because he's the player, he's the man that's on
(03:23):
the field, that's commanding the whole offense, but every time
that the ball is snap, he touches the ball, every
time that the play comes through his hair. He gets
to put the team in the best position. He gets
to go out there and alleviate some of the stressors
for guys like Tony Poller and Ridley and guys of
that nature. So gets to distribute the ball, he gets
to make plays, and he gets to make sure that
the team is always in the right play.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
He's gonna have the greatest impact. But I really like
Travis Hunter. Yeah, Travis will play on both sides of
the football right offense and defense, and you would think
he's going to have the bigger impact. But to Isaiah's point,
it's cam moored. He touches the ball every single player.
I go back to what his head coach, Brian Callahan said,
It's not just about him and what he's going to
do with the football, distributing the foot ball around. It's
(04:05):
the culture change he's bringing in, the swag, he's bringing
in the attitude and then being able to be a multitasker.
He's talking trash with Jeffrey Simmons while the play calls
coming in his ear, and his coach is like, do
you want me to wait till you finish talking trash? No, coach,
I got this. Let me finish talking trash and give
me the play call and we're gonna go to the
huddle and we're gonna bust them down again. So I
love that Kem Wred Not only is coming in with
(04:26):
that bravado, that aura, also the playmaking ability. You see
how this man had the strongest arm in the draft.
You can put the ball anywhere on the field. But
he's bringing a different type of attitude that will change
the culture in Tennessee. He will have a bigger impact
than Travis Hunter.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
All Right, I'm gonna take a deep breath here, and
I'm gonna start on behalf of this program with an apology.
An apology for this topic, for this question to not
only the entire Tennessee Titans organization, but the entire state
of Tennessee, the volunteer state.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
This is where we have arrived at.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
We are asking whether the number one overall pick in
the draft who's going to start at quarterback, will have
a bigger impact than this guy playing corner.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Or wide receiver.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I don't care if Travis Hunter also coaches and punts
and kicksfield goal and mops up the locker room and
drives the team bus and flies the team plane. It's
cam Ward and I had this apologetic tone because we
should know better.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
We're not the other shows.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
We're supposed to be the people's show of football on
the ground floor. We're not afraid to do a segment
with those logos here, the Titans logo and the Jags logo.
We're not ripped off the air because we're not showing
a Cowboys star or Aaron Rodgers face. This is a
real conversation about who's going to be a more impact
Travis Hunter.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
What are we doing?
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Don't Travis Hunter? Hunter s Thompson, Hunter, Biden, I don't care.
What I need Hunter and the Huntsman. You can put
them out there and it's always always going to be
cam Ward.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
And let's not also say, well, it's it's only because
he's a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Now, it's because he's an undisputed number one overall pick
quarterback who looks real nice and he's playing.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Well early on.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Look at this picture right here and tell me this
doesn't have.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
A little bit of sizzle. Don't tell me it's all boring.
And it's only because he's quarterback.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
That's pretty icyh that's one.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
That's Ridley, that's the rookie. I'd like that zero. I
like that one.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
I'm into it.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
I like how this looks, and it's okay if you
like how that looks. I cannot believe we've gotten here
as a show. I'm going to apologize to everybody. We're
already getting alarms going off because we're talking about cam Ward.
Get him off, Get him off. Talk Rogers talk, rogers
talk anything. This is cam Ward talk. You do her fine,
talk about the fourth string quarterback on the damn Cleveland
(06:53):
Browns before the number one overall pick. Get him off.
I apologize. I'd like to say it won't happen again,
but it probably will.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
It probably will, by the way, And I think you
make a really good point because you're right about those
logos with the Titans and the Jags in an a
block at the top of the hour typically doesn't happen
on a whole lot of shows. Can I just play
Devil's advocate you though, Kyle, because I don't think you're wrong,
but I think there's the other side of this. Now.
I had a Heisman vote last year. The Heisman typically
is do.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
You say that no, no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I don't mean it like that. All I'm saying is
this is no, no, no. That has been historically a quarterback award, right,
and yet it was as dynamic a season, a historic
season with Travis Hunter, who did get my vote. You
got Ashton Genty who balled out. And by the way,
right before I hit submit, I really thought about Genty
as number one. I mean, that's how close it was.
(07:39):
Can't we make an argument because Travis Hunter was so
special in the fact that he's going to be a
two way player, Maybe there is an argument for the
impact that Hunter could have that makes it a conversation
by the way I go on the camp side. But
I'm just going to float this and be a little
Devil's advocate with you.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
I would just go back to the beautiful city of
Green Bay, Wisconsin, in which the draft was held. Travis
Hunter was the most interesting, most dynamic prospect we've seen
in decades. And there was not one millisecond of debate
about who the Titans should take in a year in
an era where we debate everything and we'll scream about anything,
it was always cam Ward and it should have been
(08:18):
cam Ward. I appreciate the Devil's advocacy, but I believe
in Moreton ken ward advocacy here on the show.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
And an amazing story FCS player to Washington State or
I put up some big numbers ACC Player of the Year.
And to Kyle's point that he's hammered home the number
one overall pick in the NFL draft.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
What I can't wait for? You know what I can't
wait for. I can't wait until the Titans come out
at Oh my god, they're three and one.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Cam Ward looks Crez, cam Ward is.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Doing is doing Jaden type things from last year, and
everyone just comes storming into the forefront. Oh, this kid's great,
this kid is great. Beat as you weren't talking card
in April. In June, you Johnny and Jill come lately,
get the hell.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Off but didn't even get this fifteen seconds and that
Travis got drafted, everybody talked about Dravis.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
That's right, Kyle, you know you in some respects you
did ask for. And that moves us to our second
topic because it seemed like you were so jacked up
to talk about the Cleveland Browns the quarterback situation there.
But obviously this is a team near muffs here. This
is a team that's got a big decision to make
at that quarterback spot. Clearly, this is a squad that's
got some options with four quarterbacks that are essentially taking
(09:26):
some snaps here. Kevin Savanski says, don't read too much
into the reps at the moment.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (09:32):
Again, like I've told you guys, let's not look too
much into who's out there when we're in installation phase.
We're in teaching phase, so not much to look into it.
Once you get into training camp, of course, you're getting
ready to play games and ultimately get ready for playing
the season, But right now that's not our focus, all right.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Topic number two, here's a little bit of a twist
on the Shadoor Brown situation, which is the more interesting
quarterback coach dynamic right now, Stefanski and all four quarterbacks
in camp, or Aaron Rodgers and Mike Tomlin, Isaiah in Pitts.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
It has to be Stefanski and the in the freaking.
Speaker 8 (10:08):
Five, right, It's not the four five, okay? And yeah, absolutely,
he can't establish himself with a solid relationship.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
With all these guys. You have to have a leader
in the pack.
Speaker 8 (10:22):
And yes, you I understand that you want to hand
it to Joe Flacco and he's probably earning it too.
I'm not just saying that's a gift, but he's not
your long term result.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
He's not your answer there. So who is your long
term answer? All right? So it has to be one
of those other three guys, you know, Pickett, Gabriel and
Schadura Sanders.
Speaker 8 (10:40):
And you've given up draft equity for all three of
those guys. So if you're not going to retain all
three of those guys, then you're gonna lose in some
capacity in this this in this relationship. So not only
are you not establishing as tight of a relationship as
you could there's a lot of controversy there, but also
you're going to be on the losing end when it
(11:00):
comes to what you're receiving back for losing one of
these guys.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
The easy answer to call point is everybody wants to
talk about Rogers going to the Pittsburgh Steelers with Tom
and who's one of the best coaches in the league.
But I'm with Isaiah. I think the more interesting story
is Kevin Stefanski and these four different quarterbacks. And to
this point, Kenny pulled the rabbit out of the hat
like you did in twenty three, because let's not forget
and that season they went through five different quarterbacks as well,
(11:23):
and you just talked about the lucky number five and
they have five, and we assumed Deshaun Watson you see
in my hair coming off that Achilles he had some
issues in his recovery that he's most likely going to
be out. The owner already came out and said, we
made a mistake by trading for him. So now you
look at the other four quarterbacks. Took your point, Joe Flacco,
Kenny Picky, you traded for you took two quarterbacks in
the draft, a third and fifth round. Who is going
(11:45):
to be the starter for the Cleveland Browns. Who is
going to be the identity, the face of the franchise,
we talked about cam Warden being the face of the
franchise for the Tennessee Titans, Ken Kevin Stefanski. He's a
quarterback guru. Can he pull the magic the rabbit out
of the hat again and decide which quarterback is going
to start? And maybe get the Cleveland Brown to a
sneaky nine in eight record ten and seven and get
(12:07):
into the playoffs like he did in the twenty three season.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
That would be spicy.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
And I have the answer to this, Rogers, should this
that you know what the answer is?
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Bring up the picture.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
This is the answer to what's more interesting?
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
How do I not already have that powder blue baby
blue number one jersey? There, guys, cam Ward could engineer
a super Bowl winning drive and mass media will be
talking about what Shador Sanders is actually driving on Instagram,
what car he's in, doesn't.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Matter what he's going to do.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
If the Titans get to the super Bowl with cam Ward,
it'll be the first Super Bowl ever to be flexed
out of prime time. That's where we're going right now
with this thing, and I will be here for it.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
I love you, cam Ward.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
I need the jersey.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
The jerseys are sweet. There no question that that is very,
very accurate. I do anticipate you rocking one of those
cam woard jerseys at some point during the season in
the very near future. All Right, one more for you guys,
in honor of the latest Mission Impossible movie being in theaters.
I saw it, absolutely awesome. What's the more iconic movie franchise?
(13:17):
Is it Mission Impossible? With the Jason Bourne series, Isaiah, which.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
You know where it happened? This is hard, This is
very hard, you know. I have to go with Mission Impossible. Ye,
I mean I have to go with Mission Impossible.
Speaker 8 (13:32):
When you talk talking about Tom Cruise and his ability
to run a four to two every movie that he's in,
no matter, no matter his ad it's four to two. Okay,
I don't care what you say, all right, that man
has been clocked at it, not in digital time, not
even handtime. But I just love the entire series. Every
single time I watch any of his movies, I'm at
the edge of my seat. You're always The fact that
(13:53):
he does all of his own stunts is absolutely insanity
to me, absolutely insane. And now he's doing all on
motorcycles off of cliffs and hanging on on the outside
of airplanes. This dude is the absolute goat when it
comes to stunts in a high regarden respect for not
only him but the series that he created.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Longevity wise, you would have to say Mission Impossible, Right,
It's been around longer, but I'm gonna go Jason Bourne. Man.
There's just something about Matt Damon in the first first movie,
him being on the boat it raining right, having amnesia,
not knowing who he is, and then he wakes up
and finds he's a killing machine, right, and then throughout
(14:31):
the entire Born saga, the government that essentially hired him
and trained him is trying to take him out because
there's no youth for him anymore. So I just think
there's something special about that, right, being able to take
on the government that had you out there taking everybody out.
You have amnesia for most of the first movie, and
then you finally figure out who you are, and then
(14:52):
you go down and take down the government that tried
that essentially hired you to do a job. So I
know the longevity of the Mission Impossible is longer, but
I like Jason Bourne just a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Okay, Tiebreaker, I hear that, and I listen. I saw
the most recent mission possible theater. I saw it in
the theater. It's an old school style. The entire time
I'm watching the movie, I just want to walk out
and just high five Tom Cruise, like, yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
You're still bringing it, You're inspiring me.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
And yet listen in the Bourne Ultimatum, Damon fights the
asset and this he chokes a dude out with a
bath towel, and.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
It is so metal, it is so incredible.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
I like the Bourne movie is slightly better, and I
think Jason Bourne would slap Ethan Hunt around.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
However, when I look at these two, I.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Look at Jason Bourne, I look at Ethan Hunt, just
these like two killers.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
You know who I really see. I'll show you who
I see. Bring it up. This is Borne and to me,
there they are. That's the two supergent. You can't beat them,
you can't chase them, you can't run them down. They
bringing other people who.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Are maybe a little more celebrated, a little more famous,
a little more decorated, but it still comes down to
the two OG's and those are my guys.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
By the way, Nicole Kiman smiling ear to ear that
we went to the theater and watch the latest Mission impossible,
old school. You just got a smile when when you
leave the IMAX andth like that, can't can't the debate
just be summed up like this better you know, special
effects in the whole thing and action sequence on the
mission impossible side, and then the better.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Story is born storyline. I would say born for sure.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, I just I don't know. But do the four
to two line.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
I'm telling you, man, he runs a four too. He
is like, no matter what.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
That dude could start high stepping like Ricky Waters down
the sideline and still look fast.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
Or Forest Gut, who's faster. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
I'll go I'll go uh dead sprint Ethan. And then
if we're going like yeah, yeah the marathon, I'm going forrest.
It's not close back here on Good Morning Football with
over twenty mini camps going off, I've got a lot
to unpack here, so we're gonna go for two. The
forty nine ers showed their faith in Brock party system.
(17:04):
Court back. You could take it and you can put it,
you know where. It's a brand new deal. It's worth
two hundred and sixty five million. His teammate Trump Williams
called him a Cinderella story. That's accurate. His defensive coordinator
Robert Sala, had some creates for the quarterback.
Speaker 10 (17:20):
You get jaded sometimes, I think when you're when you're
looking at certain players for a certain amount of time
and you know, like, as a new face coming in
and seeing Brock, I'm like something that's pretty damn good
where I could see where. You know, you get so
used to seeing it, it becomes a standard and you're
always trying to elevate it. But you know, not the
(17:41):
not not every head coach or not every organization is
able to look at their quarterback and compare it to
Broco like, Brock is damn a damn good quarterback. So
trying not to talk poorly in other quarterbacks around the league,
but he is one of the better ones.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
CO sign on that. Isaiah, though, is this Niners team
going to go back to that dominant form this upcoming season?
Speaker 4 (18:03):
I'm not a believer right now. I've always liked the Lundiners.
Speaker 8 (18:05):
I've always respected them, but I don't believe that they're
going to get back to that dominant form that they were.
You know, I think that their division has gotten better. Obviously,
they spent a lot of money and they had a
lot of success for a short period of time, and
now that has is completely just blown up now, right,
a lot of the money has now transcered over to
Brock Party. He's no longer in the Ricky deal, so
(18:26):
the Rosters had to move around, So they're not as
strong of a unit as they once were. I think
they're going to have a lot of proving to do.
They got they got to prove themselves. I think there's
gonna be a lot of lot asked of guys that
we don't necessarily know a lot about right now, a
lot of the veterans that we've come to know and
love they're aging, right, got Christian maccaffery, You got George Kittle,
you ously you obviously you got Brandon Ayu. That's gonna
(18:48):
be expected to step up in a major way.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
But they've lost a lot of key pieces. So I'm
on a wait and see.
Speaker 8 (18:53):
But as in this day right now, I'm not to
believe that they're going to get back to being dominant,
but I think that they'll be back and being competitive.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
I say, I want to go back to what Robert
Sala was talking about with Brock Party being a pretty
good quarterback. And I feel for my guy Salad. For
all you that do or don't know, I was a
Jet for most of my career and Salah as the
head coach, was in quarterback purgatory, right. That's why he's
excited to be a brock party. When you look at
some of the quarterbacks that played under his tenure, you
have Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco, Mike White, you had Aaron Rodgers,
(19:23):
Trevor Simeon played as well, Tim Boyle, Josh Johnson. These
are the guys that Robert sala who's a defensive minded coach.
Obviously he's a defensive quarter going back to San Fran
when they were dominant there. Now he has the quarterback
that his defense can really get behind. Right, So I
agree with Isaiah when he says, well, I don't know
if San Fran is going to be as dominant as
(19:45):
they were because of some of the points that you made, right,
a lot of turnover. There's some concerns with the offensive
line and the depth or lack thereof. That was the
issue last year when Trent Williams went down. Jalen Moore
was able to come in, but they don't have a
Jaly Moore on the roster right now. This year, you
look at the back end, right, they lose Tarvarius war
They're expecting Upton Stout to step in, but they we
have one of the best slot corners already and Diamador Leonore.
(20:07):
So where is he going to play? Is he going
to play outside? Is he going to play in the slot.
Just a lot of questions the defensive line. They were
heavy in the draft. Are you expecting these rookies to
come in in Day one and be guys, we know
that this team is run by its defense. Now that
Robert sala is back, they are attacking style defense and
have some of the question marks about some of the
guys they drafted, the body types, who they actually fit
the scheme. Now, Chris Caserak is one of the best
(20:28):
D line coaches. He'll get the best out of these guys.
And I love to trade for Bryce Up. But there's
so many question marks with the team. The one thing
they do have going for themselves, guys, they have one
of the easiest schedules in the NFL, and by records
from last year, it is the easiest schedule in the NFL.
So I think they'll get to the playoffs, but I
just don't see this team being as dominant as they
were a few years ago.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
I'm glad you brought up Salah it was It's kind
of strange to see him back there and that's making
that logo and that same lect turn. It's like we
just turned back the clock four years. But that's strange
for us. I think it's a fantastic thing for the
forty nine ers. I don't know if Robert Salle was
going to be a great head coach or not.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Maybe he'll get another shy.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
I know he's a hell of coordinator.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
I know he had that defense running around sideline the sideline,
and that defense used to mess people up.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
I like that he's back.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
It's two simple questions for the Niners.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
How good of a coach is Kyle Shanahan And how
good of a quarterback is Brock Party. It's time to
really find out, because we know Shanahan's been awesome. He's
got It almost feels like a rebuild, doesn't it, financially
with all the money to Party and the people who
are leaving. And then Purdy has like been on this
nice ride where it's a cute story. Mister relevant, I
don't make any money.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Haha.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Well now you're like, now you're.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
A superstar quarterback and you're paid like one.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
So there is an expectation that you should be excellent,
and you should be better than you were last year,
and you should be better in the year you took
the team to the super Bowl or they took you.
It's going to be different guys, like, there is no
Deebo Samuel. He didn't fit on the roster, and based
on what I'm seeing lately, I'm not sure he would
fit through the front door. So a lot of things
are different for the forty nine ers. And yes, I
(21:59):
just threw that out there and go ahead and respond.
There's a video going around that's not terribly flattering.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
No, we were talking about that video before the show
and Saya is like, oh, yeah, I know exactly where
you're going with that one. By the way, Kyle, isn't
there a third question though? Because you said Kyle Shanahan like,
how good of a coach? I think at least I
would say, like one of the best of the NFL.
Rock Purdy, whether or not, like there's been success, he
is a good quarterback. Isn't as simple as storing last
season as this team was the walking wounded. I mean, Brandon,
(22:25):
I you, two seasons ago was kind of the main
target for the safety net that we saw for Brock
perty Trent Williams had some issues obviously staying healthy. Christian
McCaffrey one of the difference makers in this game. Don't
we just say hey, we're healthy, We're okay.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
It'll help for sure.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
I mean, they listen, everybody deals with injuries.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
They had a tough run last year, a really, really,
really tough run.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
So I just think they're one of these teams.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
But even if you are.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Don on Isaiah, it's like they're one of those teams
you just keep.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
An eye on.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
They've been there, they got dudes, they got a coach.
You know, there's there's teams that have a coach and quarterback,
and then there's teams who are trying to find them,
and a couple of their teams in their own division
are making sure that they have them.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
We know the Niners do.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
Let's just see how the ball bounces.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Meanwhile, one of the other o g s mister Rogers,
and I'm not talking about Aaron, I'm talking about old
school mister Rogers. Probably protest. Won't you be my name? Rogers? Yeah,
the Giants wanted to know who their players wanted to
live next door to.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Hey, their neighbormate would be the best neighbor. Birds, I'm
gonna go to the dog trace Man.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Oh, mister, mister, already know your boy?
Speaker 3 (23:41):
James Winston. Oh, I'm sorry, No, do.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
You not? He said, you know?
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Bobby, Oh, you cut my grass.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
A little bit.
Speaker 11 (23:55):
If nobody say me, I'm saying me the best.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Neighbor the league neighbors, it's gotta be me their neighbor.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Jameis makes the video. I just want to throw that
out there, all right, which player coach would make the
best nighbor. It doesn't have to be a Giant, and
just anyone across the league is who he got.
Speaker 8 (24:15):
I know most people are going to look at the
last part of the video there and say Jamis is
the for sure thing because he's such a big personality.
But I'm a z and I'm gonna go with Jamal
Williams running back. Jamal is one of them personalities in
the league. Look at this dude, man, Look at him.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
He is.
Speaker 8 (24:33):
He's definitely gonna be in a media whenever he decides
to retire, but he is mister anime, right. I'm pretty
sure he's gonna live in Japan when he's done.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (24:40):
He loves just being a big personality. He loves doing anime.
He's going to be a neighbor that's going to be
in the house most likely watching anime all day long.
And it if he's not outside, I mean he's not inside,
he's probably outside doing flips and cartwheels.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
I don't know. I just feel like he would be
a fun neighbor to have. Well, Isaiah, I'm not gonna
zig and Zach. I'm going with mister Jameis Winston. I mean,
just imagine waking up in the morning and Jamis Winston's
in the backyard right next to you with a look
at that motivational We eat a W today. That's what
we're going to do. We're gonna go out here. We're
gonna eat a W like that wouldn't get your juices
flowing in the morning to take on the day. And
(25:13):
just imagine you come back from work, it spent a
long day. Jamis is there to motivate you, to get
you right. Yeah, they had you down today, but we
have an opportunity tomorrow to go get right again. I mean,
why would you not want Jameis Winston as a motivational
speaker and a neighbor. Two birds, one stone, it's Jameis Winston.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Listen, you guys have very very different ideas of what
you want as a neighbor than I do. I would
want to see Jameis Winston as a motivational speaker. I
want to see him at a party. I want to
see him at the park. I don't want him anywhere
near my property.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
And that's guys.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
I want a neighbor who is silence that I never see,
that has nothing to say. You know who I want
is my neighbor. I want Todd Bowles as my neighbor,
just dignified. That's my neighbor right there. He has his
law as law and is going to be all lined
up perponly he's gonna have this beautiful thing to present
(26:13):
to the neighborhood all the time.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
He's not gonna say anything. Occasionally I'll see him at
the mailbox.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
It would be one word hello.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
But like, I don't want to be Isaiah the guy.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Like I meet someone in town and they're like, oh,
you live over on that street. You live next to
the guy who does the backflips in.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
The yard, and it's the rack.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
It's like a cat, right, I'm like, no, that's that's
my neighbor, not me. I don't want anything to do
with it. I don't even want anyone to be in
my neighbor. I wish I loved by myself. But if
I had to pick one, Todd both see Kyle.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
I used to think that, right. And I lived in
a town home for six or seven years, me and
my wife, and we never talked to our neighbors, and
you know, in a time home, you're connected, literally connected
to them. Never spoke to the man. We moved to
the suburbs and now we have neighbors that we talked
to every single day, and they're actually some of our
closest fans friends. So like I used to think that, Like,
I don't want anything to do with my neighbor. But
(27:02):
it's great. Like when I go out of town, a
neighbor takes his garb can in for me. There's packages
in front of the house. He brings in it out.
So like, you have a neighbor that you never talked to,
you're gonna have packages outside cow the garbageha is gonna
get on you about the garbage can be in by
the street. You want to be close with your neighbor,
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 8 (27:19):
If you want to be doing your yard, look over
the fence, see somebody do it back and be like
he's crazy, and you just keep on going.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Kyle, I'm with you. I'm with you. I mean, Todd
Bowles is a perfect pick because you know, the real
estate value not gonna take a hit because it is
gonna be that well manicured property next to you. I
don't I'm cool, like we can do the hell the
Hello maybe as I actually was thinking about this, give
me the entire list of the Walter Payton man in
the year dudes like they all like class dudes, nice guys.
(27:50):
I don't hate the parties. I have aged out of that.
I'm good. I want the quiet town.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
But Kyle, well plus yeah, listen, if your neighbor is
a Walter Payton, Mattie, if you're if you're next door
neighbor is Dak Prescott, you got a.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Nice house too. Let's get the sack.
Speaker 8 (28:05):
Do you feel comfortable and confident going and asking Todd
Bowles to borrow one of his tools.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
No, that's a great I see.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
A great question, because I bet Todd Bowles has all
the tools. I bet he has an incredible tool set.
I would feel nervous borrowing it because if I took
his his hacks are or something, he would be so
upset if I ruined it or broke it, which I
probably would, so I probably would not, guys.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
But I still would go with Bolls.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
I want to be in a cul the sack of silence,
Todd Bowles on one side, Marcus Mariota on the other,
and it's just a beautiful neighborhood.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
You don't got History opens the door of what do
you want now?
Speaker 3 (28:41):
I can't do that.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
I'm out, never mind, coach, I'm sorry, well organized tools,
I could see them like lined up, immaculate. I'm with Kyle,
me and you, Bud. I'm with you one thousand percent.
There don't need the noise. I mean, you're also talking
to a renter, not a buyer. So I'm telling you
we had it's already because of the noise issues and
the whole thing. The thing, it is a thing. Yeah,
(29:02):
don't you guys are coldpay because breaking much?
Speaker 11 (29:07):
Yeah? Yeah, I think it's still a work in progress.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
We're still growing.
Speaker 11 (29:15):
But besides just being teammates, I think he's a great,
great person, you know, off the field, and like I said,
I think I can learn a lot from him, you know,
in life and about the game of football. When I
was chilling with them one time, we were just doing
like trivia questions, so we would name a player and
I would have to say they're at college or.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
Their nickname while they were playing.
Speaker 11 (29:35):
So, I mean, it's just a fun person to be around.
He's gonna test me cerebrally h in my opinion. So
just looking forward to, you know, the continued conversations to
continued workouts, and you know, hopefully we can put a
product on the field that you know, can last a lifetime.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
DK showing a little bit of love and having some
fun with his new quarterback. This is the part of
the show where I am thrilled to be sitting in
this seat and not where the other guys are. Because
people think like we're good at like trivia stuff. It's like, no,
that's kind of not what we do. But we're playing
nice time for head of the class. Here eyes go
kind of feel like Kyle you being the Princeton dude,
(30:13):
like you have to have an advantage with this, correct,
Like were you the front of the class type of
guy with the apple or back of the class like
doing spitballs. See, that's a common misconception about me.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
People think I went to Princeton. I went to prison
for four years. It's very different experience, very different.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Enough.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
All right, fair enough, here's how the game is going
to go. We're going to give you a headshot and
some clues, and it's about the education. Where did these
guys go to school? All of you have some whiteboards.
You'll write the guests and we'll see how it all
plays out. All right, player number one, here's the clue.
Well daring Kyle Hamilton. I feel like, guys, we should
know this one twenty twenty two, I became the highest
(30:54):
drafted defensive player out of high school in over twenty
five years.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Yeah, all right, that's the first clue.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Right, all right, people are already.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Yeah, we got it and we don't need clues.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
There we go. Yeah, that's not a day I actually
got Oh you did.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
I was a little I'm not gonna lie, it was
a little a little nervous thing. Yeah, yeah, you were
giving me. He was giving me a blessings like I
don't like doing I'm not no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
All right, you're good. All right.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
By the way, are we going to go roll with you? Oh?
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
We got some head shots just to finish it off.
My school's current head coach played at Ohio Staid. Drafted
by the Bears fifth round of the two thousand and
nine draft, my school finished with their highest final AP
ranking since nineteen ninety four. Go irish if used to
rock that uniform or we're on that campus. Meanwhile, Player
number two Metrick Shtan. All right, let's go with the
(31:44):
head shot and clue number one.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
I was definitely okay.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
I was the first player from my college to win
AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Yeah, do we want to show wow?
Speaker 4 (31:57):
W I actually don't know. Oh wow, I'm going.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
To say this all right, Well, at least you were.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
In yeah uh jay about yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Well played here? Well played here? All right, this next one?
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Know how the clues help us tell which.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Knowledge of schools got.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
To spend some time covering on college football?
Speaker 4 (32:22):
All right?
Speaker 2 (32:22):
Player number three, first player drafted in the first round
out of my school in fifty years. We had a
lot of buzz around this dude process. Everyone take out
the sharpie, start writing on that draft board.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
All right.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
My college is a one hour drive to four different
ski resorts. I've been a parsity you guys ready, all right? No,
my school competes with two other in state universities for
the you have boot trophy.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
That that's a good that's a good. Uh clue right there,
Utah State.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
Oh, I'm pointing at that. And guys, really all right?
Yeah this this this No, No, damn, I forgot I do.
I'm right, So I don't.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
I feel like I'm a little I'm a nerd when
it comes to stuff like this.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Yeah, yeah, damn Isaiah owning this?
Speaker 4 (33:23):
All right?
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Next player that we have for everyone, Isaiah, let's go here,
please to start this gun. I won three consecutive high
school state championships. Had a school a few miles away
from where I eventually went to college. Yeah, hometown. They
kept the fence around him. My school had seven defensive
backs drafted in rounds one and two since twenty seventeen.
Only Alabama had more in that span. Yeah, those dudes
(33:46):
have been pumping it out and a starting quarterback in
the NFC South holds the single season passing yards record
at my school. And it is, oh, yeah.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
You dubbought.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
You guys are wrong. I got this one. It's nevada.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
About it, you know. Before the show, Isaia is like, hey, like,
this is totally my thing, I said, And I got
the list.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
I was like, dude, get yet one.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
I got to right, you got too, right, Yeah, you're
already ahead of the game.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
All right.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Player number five here was the highest drafted player from
my school since nineteen seventy five. Got this one, okay,
Writes scored in NFL history, went to the same school
that I did. And my school's mascot is the Jack
is Jack the jack Rabbits, So guys.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Will slift them up South Dakota State.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
And okay, well, I thought, I'm well done, Well done guys,
That actually I thought.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
And at one time he was playing with Carson Wentz,
who went to North.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Dakota State in the Philadelpia. That's kind of cool, like
what a weird connection, but it word.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
I gotta be honest, I thought that was the hardest
one so far. All right, player number six Jones, there
we go, all right, I am the all time leading
rusher in my school's history. To my school was originally
called the State School of the Minds in the Middle
Urgy and fellow alum and NBA Hall of Famer Tim
Hardaway senior signature crossover dribble was the two step blanks step.
(35:18):
All right, we got a guess.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Done?
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Well done you two step?
Speaker 5 (35:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Hey, can I just throw this it is? Which is
awesome And by the way, well done by you, Kyle
to be able to draw that really really quickly.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
I am my walk on this.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
On the two step thing with which I thought it
was a killer crossover. We got into it.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
I guess it was it both.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
Okay, that's some old school NBA references. All right, we
got the scoreboard here.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
I wasn't keeping Kyle the a you're awesome, alright.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
We we did have, just in case, a tie breaker
question for everyone.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
So here we'll do it.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Yeah, let's let's make it worth seven points.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
We'll double jeopardy action here.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
All right.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
There are one thousand, six hundred and ninety six players
in the NFL on active rosters to start each season.
At the beginning of the of twenty twenty four, Alabama
had the most players on those rosters. How many players
did they have on active rosters in that season? This? Yeah,
so I know, yeah, and what was that number again?
(36:34):
That total players? So the total players was one thousand
nine or six hundred and ninety six, So Alabama had
the most players on active rosters? What is that number?
And we could do like prices right, action and number already?
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Okay, so you guys, go on you but I'm gonna
say I'm thinking of an active rosters fifty three, so
I doubled that.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
I'd say one hundred and six. Okay, that's a good guess.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
That's a good guess. Sixty seven, eighty five, guys, well
well done, seventy seven.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
I wanted to put seventy six. I wanted to put the.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
Yeah that was that's not bad.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Yeah, yeah, no, I.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Am simon different. I got that's probably around like seventy
or eighty.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Yeah, well well done. I had to like reverse an
engineer because I spent a lot of time covering the
tat twelve, and I remember going to Stanford and they
used to have I think at that point it was
like forty or fifty and they were in the top five.
So but seventy seven is a big number and that's
the reason why Alabama continues to turn out teams that
are in the mix when for house football playoffs in
(37:39):
national championships again a single year, guys, well done by you,
Well done by you, and I know you.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
Were good, good boy good.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Always fun to have a little fun on head of
the class.
