Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Hey, everybody, welcome.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
It's like Good Morning Football present of my old trapper
Beef Turkey live in LA and New York.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's Tuesday seventeenth.
Speaker 5 (00:32):
This is Awk.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Barbara should be a Miller, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt, Isaiah
stand back. I'm jamieer at all.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
How's everybody doing this morning?
Speaker 6 (00:39):
It's almost Christmas?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yea, I haven't got any shopping done? Great? Oh yeah,
I need to get that take care of.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
I feel like one of those things.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Don't put that, don't say allow.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Now now everyone's really warm? Oh my bad.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Isaiah, good to see you here this week. Are you
with us next week at all?
Speaker 3 (00:57):
In the show?
Speaker 5 (00:58):
Okay, before christ with the new year.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Right before the new year.
Speaker 6 (01:01):
Right, you're going to be going shopping, right, Chris, I
got some I got some stopping to you.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
I have a large amount of power this morning. I
get to do the highlight first. Usually I say, Kyle
do the honors, but I get to do and then Kyle,
you go, okay, because there was two games a Monday night, weird,
very strange. Let's do it Falcons lead Raiders, Falcons Raiders.
Is Kirk Cousins going to figure some stuff out?
Speaker 3 (01:24):
God?
Speaker 4 (01:24):
The Falcons are certainly hoping to or he Morris especially
so he stopped answering questions about.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Michael PENNOCKX Junior.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
It's a win for the Falcons, but it was kind
of uncomfy because the head coach still got asked about
the backup quarterback in the post game.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Who all right?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Bears Vikings Vikings on a six game win streak, justin
Jefferson and the Ice uniforms, and this was incredible.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Randy Moss going through some.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Very difficult things right now, and you have Jake Reid
and Chris Carter out there with his jersey. Players wore
the Moss jersey to the game, and the Vikings on fire.
The Bears have not won since that game in London
four and ten, twelve and two. The top of the
NFC is really cool right now. Thirty to twelve is
your final. Afterwards, though, let's hear from the Jet on
(02:10):
the Vikings potential to be a legitimate NFC contender.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
How you feeling, JJ?
Speaker 7 (02:16):
Okay, it was great, you know, you know, just going
through the adversity you know earlier in the season, trying
to figure out the offense, figure out the team in general,
and just you know, seeing you know, us stacking the
good games together. It's really good to see. But I mean,
our potential is so so high every game, you know,
(02:37):
we're expecting, you know, the offense to be the best
on that field. So definitely great to get the win,
Definitely great to dominate. But you know, of course you're
going to celebrate this win. But you know, we got
a short week. You know, we got to move on
quickly to Seattle.
Speaker 8 (02:58):
All right, guys, NFC playoff picture. After amazing fifteen weeks,
we enter the final three weeks and look at the
top twelve and two, twelve and two, and then the
five seed. The Vikings are twelve and two. As we'll
note throughout the next several days, the Vikings control their
own destiny and can still be the one seed with
(03:21):
a buy if they went out against the Seahawks, the Packers.
Speaker 9 (03:25):
And the Lions.
Speaker 8 (03:27):
Incredible performance by the Vikings plenty to break up Art
and Flinny to a breakdown Jamie back to you.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Okay, what a definition of a come running team? If
the Vikings, who sit at the five seed right now,
jettison themselves up to the one seed by controlling their
own destiny. The Vikings have to go to Seattle this weekend,
host the Packers next, and then go to Detroit to
finish out their year. They're twelve and two right now,
Bears Vikings. Peter was not very dramatic, which felt great
(03:56):
for Vikings fans but kind.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Of annoying for Bears fans.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
It was just a win.
Speaker 8 (04:00):
Well, It's also it wasn't pretty early like Sam Donald
didn't play well early and the game was kind of like,
all right, let's go. A lot of John Hussey and
the refs a lot of flags, twenty penalties.
Speaker 9 (04:09):
There was a lot of flags.
Speaker 8 (04:11):
We always love a primetime game where we could talk
about the refs first. I then look at what stepped
up in this game, and it was a quarterback who
was on a one year deal, Stam Darnold who showed
up Aaron Jones, who was jennison by the Packers that
they wanted to get younger, prettier, and more expensive than
Josh Jacobs. Blake Cashman came back. He was all over
(04:32):
the field. New guy Jonathan Gernard pass rush was incredible
new guy. Like this is this cast of characters of
misfit toys almost.
Speaker 9 (04:42):
Put together, and yet.
Speaker 8 (04:43):
Here they are and they're twelve and two. And I'm
watching Kevin O'Connell throughout this game and just it's calm,
it's composed, it's we got this. Start off ugly, start
off rocky.
Speaker 9 (04:58):
We got this, guys.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Don't worry home.
Speaker 8 (05:01):
Crowd carried them a bit here, guys, the Vikings are
twelve two or better for the first time since nineteen
ninety eight and that nineteen ninety eighteen was Boss Chris Carter,
Dennis Green, you know, amazing offense, Brian Bellick team, Kevin
O'Connell's twelve wins. It's a second time he's done this
in three years. It's just a second coach to win
(05:22):
twelve games in his first in franchise history. But Carson
was the only coach to do it twice. Also, we
see the Dan Campbell let's go.
Speaker 9 (05:32):
Man, I love you, y'all, and.
Speaker 8 (05:34):
It's so inspiring and like you get like you know,
everyone from Bill Simmons to Ian Rappaport to Schefter and everybody,
like you must watch this the first thing you do
to wake up I watched Kevin O'Connell's postgame speech. It's like, hey,
Aaron Jones, man, we're really happy to have you on
the team. Flips him a ball, like let's go guys
next week, and like they love him too. It's like
a totally different vibe, and yet you don't see it.
Speaker 9 (05:57):
I would run throw a wall for Kevin O'Connell.
Speaker 8 (05:59):
Those players are all new and like weren't wanted elsewhere
and they found a way to go and eyes and
yesterday that could have been a game like the Bears
were in that early second half. They came out and
they're like, let's just put them away. They're they're dialed in.
I know a lot of people are like yeah, but
Lions and Packers. Lions and Packers have issues too. In fact,
the Packers have two more losses than the Vikings. So
(06:19):
I'm watching this last night and I'm like, maybe this
is a special team and maybe we're overlooking them just
because of everyone's previous history, and this could be one
of those units it just comes together.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Yeah, They're going to come together. This game was very
hard for me personally to watch and get kind of
get excited because the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
They just weren't.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
They weren't that team for me to make that kind
of judgment on the Minnesota Vikings. But I did like
to see defensively, to see Grenard. You talked about him
going out there and creating a lot of those opportunities.
I look at Chicago and just you know, you look
at their first three series and it was just like,
what are we watching here? But the dominance that I
think is going to come later on for the Minnesota
Biking is going to be able to come up and
(06:57):
sure up that defense, that defense they were bringing it.
I just like, I like watching these guys coming off
the edge and just firing off creating opportunities, because that's
what it's going to be about when especially we get
into the playoff situation. It's going to be to be
able to be opportunists, to create those type of opportunities.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
It's not always just about.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
Getting a sack and getting up to me, but can
you go out there and can you get those balls
and can you do the stracks the sack strip like that.
Stuff like that creates game changers in the playoffs. So
when I go and I think about the competition that's
going to be in the playoffs in the NFC for them,
this defense is going to be the telltale for me.
But this game was I mean it was. I don't
know about you guys, but for me, it was a
(07:33):
non factor. As far as judging the Minnesota Vikings. Now,
if they would have played poorly in this game, then
that would have given me a lot of concern for
the Vikings.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Well, the judgment in the past for the Vikings is
that that is a type of game that they even
if they had won it, but they let the Bears
in late, then the doubts of sure, sure's the fact
that they were able to to all your points in
the second half put the nail on the coffin is comforting.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Perhaps it is comforting.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
I mean I look at this as like an end
season scrimmage.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I call it. Call it what it is.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
I mean, no disrespect to the to the Chicago Bears.
We know they're not playing great football, right it is
what it is. They're not playing great football. So when
you look at this game, you try to see, Okay,
what is it that they're executing at Okay, with Sam
Darnold very accurate, how was the protection up front where
we able to execute on some of the blitzes and
pressures that we were trying to get. Did we have
the blitz in order to get pressure?
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Right?
Speaker 5 (08:22):
So you started checking all those boxes as a coordinator
to start figuring out exactly what do we need to
shore up before this playoff run. Because when I look
at the Minnesota Vikings, I look at and say, who
have they played this year? Yes, they're twelve and two,
and you control You can't control who's on your schedule,
right you play who who's ever up is up next?
But these guys are two and two against playoff teams.
They've beat the Texas, they beat the Packers early in
(08:43):
the season. That's great, But they've lost to the Lions,
They've lost to the Rams. So when I look at
exactly who they are as a team, they haven't been
tested a lot this year. Now these next three games
they will be tested. Seattle Seahawks are coming up, you
have the Packers, and you have the Lions. That's what
I'm gonna be waiting to see, and that's what I'm
gonna be looking at to figure out exactly who is
this team before they get into the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
The Vikings deserve all their congratulations this morning, the twelve
and two. It's very cool that the top three teams
are all twelve and two in the NFC. They could
get the one seed. We don't even know what's gonna happen.
The Vikings took care of business last night. I'm gonna
attempt to talk about the Bears, all right, okay, and
here I'm going to try to give some some good
news to the Bears.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Here's the best news.
Speaker 9 (09:22):
Three more just three more games, that's all.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
We got. Three more.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
We can get through this and get the hell out
of there this At this point, I feel like the
Bears fans, maybe even Bears players, it's like in prison
when you're doing those tally marks on the wall just
to try to get through your sentence. Or maybe they
have an actual advent calendar they're opening up till the
end of the season. They open a door every game,
and that was the Minnesota door, and the Detroit door
(09:47):
and the Seattle door. I watched the team and I'm like, honestly,
could they just conceide the last three games? What are
they even doing out there? What is the point of
them being out there? Because you might say, well, you know,
Caleb needs reps.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
No he doesn't.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
He's had plenty of reps. He's had months of reps.
He's had hundreds and hundreds of reps. Or they'll say,
you know, we're just trying to get better.
Speaker 9 (10:08):
No you're not.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
You're not getting better. Last time you played Minnesota took
into overtime. This was not even a game.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Well we're trying to play spoiler. No you're not. You're
not spoiling anything. It's just not happening.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Do you know that they were shut out in the
first half in this game. Maybe they were shut out
the first half last week, jar they were shut out
in the.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
First half the game before.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
That's three games and road beings shut out in the
first half. And you watch this team and you just
say all you think the whole time is bye. God,
What Messiah is going to coach this team next year?
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Who? What christ figure are they going.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
To bring in to walk on water and change this
team into anything resembling the contender. It's not gonna be
Bill Belichick. It's not gonna be Thomas Brown. You're not
gonna promote him From some of the things I'm read.
I don't think it's gonna be Mike Grave believe he
may have another job in mind, and you just this
is the shot.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
It's I want this season to be over.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
I think everyone involved in the organization wants the season
to be over. And the only good news that I
have this morning is it almost is.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Three more guys. We can get through it.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
Happy New Year, Stay to the nation for Bears fans
if you needed it. A lot of cool visuals out
of the Vikings last night with the Randy Moss and
everything from the highlight. We saw that. A lot of
talk about that late nineties team for the Vikings. There
is connective tissue now to today's game, which is back
in the ninety eight and ninety nine season, Randy Moss,
Chris Court Carter and Lee Roy Horde all accounted for
(11:30):
ten or more touchdowns and back to back seasons. It's
the first trio to ever do it. It's happening this
season with the Detroit Lions with David Montgomery, Jamior Gibbs
and a'mon Ross Saint Brown just for the second time
in NFL history. Unfortunately, Ian Rappaport for the Lions, they
have to move forward without one of those major parts
of their offense this season.
Speaker 10 (11:51):
That's right, just brutal news to the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 9 (11:54):
David Montgomery.
Speaker 10 (11:55):
They're starting running back, one of the best running backs
in the NFL, the recipient of a big time contract
extension just a couple weeks ago, is now out for
this season because of knee injury. On Sunday, he actually
played through this knee injury injured, it came to the
sideline and went back in, finished the game, and now
it was revealed he has a torn MCL, torn MCL
(12:17):
and additional damage in his knee.
Speaker 9 (12:19):
He is going to have season ending surgery imminently and
he is done now.
Speaker 10 (12:23):
They do have Jamier Gibbs, who is an excellent running
back and they are confident that he can take on
the workload necessary, but no doubt.
Speaker 9 (12:29):
A brutal, brutal blow.
Speaker 10 (12:31):
For the Detrolos, who've got nothing but injuries on defense.
Now one on offense for the Kannas City Chiefs. Much
much better news for Patrick Mahomes. Test revealed that he
had a high ankle sprain, which for a lot of
players would be very bad.
Speaker 9 (12:45):
Usually four to six weeks of recovery.
Speaker 10 (12:48):
But this is Patrick Mahomes's body is built differently.
Speaker 9 (12:50):
It's kind of reminds me guys.
Speaker 10 (12:52):
Of the playoffs a couple of years ago against the Jaguars,
he had a high ankle sprain, didn't finish the game
and then come back out the next week and actually played.
Where is the possibility he could miss the following week?
We could see Carson wentz out there, but long term,
Patrick Mahomes should be fine. That is the most important
news as the playoffs loom and the Pittsburgh Steelers also
(13:13):
a short week.
Speaker 9 (13:14):
They have the Ravens on Saturday. TJ.
Speaker 10 (13:16):
Watt suffered a low ankle spring, not high ankle, low ankle,
basically just rolled his ankle right there. As Mike Tomlin said,
they're going to leave the door open for Himer, leave
the light on for him.
Speaker 9 (13:27):
Er, something's going to be on for TJ.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Watt to potentially play.
Speaker 10 (13:30):
It is a huge game and is against a rival,
So I personally am not rolling them out.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
Yeah, if you're Mahomes, if you're whatever you have to
do to do right by the team and your own
body down the home stretch, I'm sure is the stants Ian.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
Thank you so much. Talking a little bit.
Speaker 8 (13:46):
All right, Tuesday morning, we're doing sevend call.
Speaker 9 (13:48):
We innery out look.
Speaker 8 (13:50):
We talked about all the best teams in the league,
but there are some teams that are just crumbling and
other fan bases that are just foaming at the mouth
for change. On Sunday, Patriots head coach Gerard Mayo appeared
to throw New England offensive coordinator Alex van Pelt under
the bus after the game. Here's situation, third and one.
They didn't sneak Drake May. Fourth and one, they didn't
(14:12):
sneak Drake May. The media asked him, why didn't you
sneak Drake May? And here was the response.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Did you see on the short yardage two plays that
couldn't get the yard?
Speaker 6 (14:22):
Half yard? And did you have a conversation with Alex
around fourth down?
Speaker 2 (14:26):
There?
Speaker 6 (14:28):
It was disappointed, you know, I just you know, I
think probably the first week of the season, there comes
a point in time as a football team where everyone
in the city and knows what the play.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Is and we just got to move bodies.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
And we weren't able to do that.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Would you consider running Drake in that situation that it's
a short yarded situation, we know he can run.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
Let's you said it.
Speaker 9 (14:46):
I did, that's your OC man.
Speaker 8 (14:52):
So it has become a cycle in New England. The
next day he does the radio showed well, I didn't
mean anything by that.
Speaker 9 (14:59):
It was more of a defensive response.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
I tried to clarify that with the follow up question
because ultimately all thosecisions are mine. I didn't want to
go down that whole rabbit hole trying to explain all
those things. Remember, the Patriots did not interview any other candidates.
This job was Girrod Mayo's. Once Bill Belichick left, they
passed the torch. Belichick didn't pass it to anybody. Robert
Kraft passed this torch to Gerrod Mayo. Mike Vrabel was
(15:23):
on the block waiting like, okay, guys, I just got fired.
Speaker 9 (15:25):
Didn't get an interview. It's been a disastrous year in
New England.
Speaker 8 (15:30):
Here's my statement, and I don't love playing the grim
raper here, But the Patriots and consider cutting bait and
moving on from girod Mayo after this season?
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Are we know out Jamie?
Speaker 4 (15:40):
I'll go quick because he who played with Girod Mayo
is over here steaming and has a lot to say.
So I'm going to go with the word consideration in there.
I'm going to go in on considerate assess Peter. It's
very important to remember that history, that commitment to this
man before the change ever happened. I think we all
(16:02):
thought it was a strange way to go about things
with the Patriots. Do things differently. I think sometimes it's
okay to adopt the traditional approach. Just consider what's going
on inside your building.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
So I'm in on this, I'm out.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
I am definitely out on this. I say, give him
an opportunity to grow in this position. It's been rough,
but it was rough for Bill Belichick when he started
off with the Patriots, you know what I mean. And
nobody was calling for his neck probably like that, you
know what I mean. So I say, give him an opportunity. Yeah,
is he rough around the edges. Yeah, that's what you expect.
He's the first time at coach. That's what you're supposed
to expect. He's a guy that had played, had an
(16:37):
illustrious career. He speaks the way he speaks, he says
how he feels. In fact, I appreciate that a lot
more than I do the other way. When coaches say
a whole bunch of nothing, they just do a hot air,
put it all out in the air. He was like,
what does that even mean? He's telling you how what
he feels. In the end, like he called his team,
you know, soft, and how did they respond the following week?
They showed up and they played hard, you know what
(16:58):
I mean. So I'm saying, give him another opportunity. So
I'm out on replacing him with you know, with a
ray bow or whoever.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Oh, I'm off Isaiah's going to back clean up here. Listen,
of course you consider it. It's really rare for a
one and done, like very rare. I remember being in
the show one morning when Steve Wilkes had been letting
go by the Cardinals and there was all this shock
and awe, but the Cardinals did what they did. I
don't think Gerrod Mayo was expected to win a lot
of games this year. It's fine, the record is not great,
(17:27):
but you can definitely talk your way out of a job.
And the process that Peter just talked about where he
says something I don't know overly Candid that has to
come back and explain it has happened like six times
this season. It happens over and over, and understand, this
is an organization that had a head coach for two
decades who never did it once said nothing. I can't
(17:50):
remember in twenty years Bill Belichick ever saying no that
thing I said yesterday, I should clarify that. And it
feels like Mayo does it every single week. So it's
fine if you lose. I don't think there were a
lot of winning planning going on this year for the Patriots.
Don't embarrass the organization, don't make all of yourself, and
don't fall all over yourself in the media every five seconds.
I think definitely they can consider it because this is
(18:11):
we got a quarterback. We got to make sure we
handle this guy, and we got an owner who is
very successful, who is getting on in years, and I
think wants to win, and I think they want to
win post Belichick, and I think that's very important for
Robert Kraft.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
This wasn't just Tom and.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Bill, and I think if this is not working, I would.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Not be surprised. And yes, they should consider it.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Especially if the other guy is also a Patriots linebacker
who is super respected and is sitting there having actually
one as.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
A head coach. Yes they should consider it.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
Yes, well, I will just say this one thing before
you take the floor. I will say that Bill Belichick
in two thousand did get up in front of the
mic and say that, you know, we're horrible and we
blank and stink, so that I mean, maybe it wasn't
six times that we're not doing the number count, but
I mean everyone has done it. I mean, if you
go back through the catalog, everyone at some point has
put their foot in their mouth just saying all.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
Right, oh, I whole hardly agree with everything that you
just said, Kyle. I think that you have to consider it.
And as former teammate, I love Mayo, I love him
as a player. I know the impact that coach Belichick
had on him as a player and the mentorship that
was taking place while he was there as a player.
(19:23):
I think it's really difficult as a ex player to
come into a head coaching role and now created a
separation between who I am as a player and who
I am as a coach. There's a very thin line,
not between leve and hate, but between a player and
a coach. And you have to be able to make
that distinction when you present yourself to the public. Whenever
(19:44):
you're speaking to the public, on behalf of your team
right in terms of the players, Yes, Bar you can
now motivate your team through the media. Right, you can
call your team out and hold them accountable through the media,
but what you can't do is call your coaches out
through the media. Those are conversations to be had behind
the scenes because when you do that, now all of
a sudden and you're backpedaling and you're trying to cover up,
(20:06):
and now everybody knows that it's pretty much bs and
you're not keeping it real.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
You have to as a coach.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
I used to be on the headset in New England
when Coach Belichick would would take over Billy O'Brien, when
Billy O'Brien would make certain calls and Coach Belichick will
get on the head set and say, no, run it right.
Billy will wanted to throw it. So he is absolutely correct.
He has the power as a head coach because he
hears every play that comes through. And if you don't
like the call that's coming through, don't wait until after
(20:32):
the game to say something to the media. Make the
call until your coach, because you are his authority in
that moment, say this is what I want from this play,
and you have the final say. But I don't like
the fact that he is doing these things in public.
I do believe that as a young coach, most coaches
who are ex players or just first time head coaches
have some kind of X coach that has been successful
(20:53):
in this league that is on staff to help mentor
them and help provide them some kind of governance to
help them navigate these seas. I'm not sure if they
have that in place in New England. If they don't,
then they need to do that this upcoming season to
help him along in his head coaching.
Speaker 8 (21:09):
I think that's so well, said isa In Obviously of
a personal relationship with Girod Mayo, I do as well.
Covered the guy for years, got to know him. It's
not fun to talk about this. It also was such
an unorthodox hire because of the way it was done.
Speaker 9 (21:23):
Belichick is he leaving? Is he not leaving?
Speaker 3 (21:25):
He's gone?
Speaker 8 (21:25):
And then after the fact, Robert Craft has revealed in
interviews did on the field on a Thursday night game
with Kaylee Hartung, he did reveal that, like, for five years,
I've seen Gerrod Mayo as the next guy. Well, Belichick
wasn't aware of that that this was the succession plan.
Speaker 9 (21:40):
Rabel unexpectedly becomes.
Speaker 8 (21:43):
Available and they didn't even look at him as a
Patriots legend. I think my thing is, you didn't go
through the process last year, and maybe it cut corners.
Maybe he did it because he didn't want that, like
very rarely does his work, Like George Seaffert took over.
Speaker 9 (21:54):
For Bill Walsh.
Speaker 8 (21:55):
I remember Jason Garrett took over for Wade Phillips, right
got elevated.
Speaker 9 (21:59):
Mike Martz took over for Dick for Meal.
Speaker 8 (22:02):
The Mayo thing, this is a very young guy with
very limited experience as a head coach, and you're asking
a lot now the actual nuance of the Drake May thing.
Drake may had a concussion earlier this season. Maybe they
didn't want to have him do sneaks down line. I
don't know the story there, but they have three games
and I assume he's been giving a vote of confidence
and he's gonna be all right, just because that doesn't
seem like the craftwaight a cut bait after one year,
(22:25):
but boyle boy, our Patriots fans ready for something to
be different next year, all right?
Speaker 9 (22:30):
Speaking of the AFC East, Aaron Rodgers went bonkers.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
He sure did.
Speaker 9 (22:35):
Peter come on, he was awesome. So was Devonte Adam.
Just in time, Let's take a look at who they
play this week and.
Speaker 8 (22:43):
What they have up ahead, because the Rams are traveling
to Jersey and everybody expects the Rams will win this game,
and then they have to take care of they win
against the Cardinals, which could end up being on a
Saturday night an NFL network, and then their game against
the Seahawks to end the season.
Speaker 9 (23:01):
If the Rams win those three games they wined a.
Speaker 8 (23:04):
They host a playoff game. My statement is this week
sixteen at New York Sunday afternoon has trap game written
all over it.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Are we in or are we out?
Speaker 9 (23:17):
Let's start with you, Jamie.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
I am so far in on this. I am committed
to not only this being a trap game for the
Rams against the Jets. I think the Jets are just
going to run around and play spoiler for everyone the
rest of the season because they got the Rams, they
got the Bills, and they got the Dolphins, so they
could just kind of make fun of at the end
of the season. But the Rams and the Bills need
to look out for the next two weeks because you
(23:39):
have a Hall of Fame quarterback that you are going
up against, Aaron Rodgers, who likes to joke about whatever
you want to say about him, but he's feeling himself
again and he kind of wants to make the waters
murky in the meadowlands. So I think Aaron Rodgers is
going to mess around and say, I'll just ruin your
season and I'm going to complicate your quarterback decision in
the offseason. So I am in on this being a
trap game, not only this week, but Bills, you better look.
Speaker 9 (24:00):
Out next week.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
I think that they are going to try to play spoiler.
I think the air Rodgers on his twenty twenty five
campaign right now, But those defensive ends for the Rams
are there their problem, so I'm not sure they're gonna
be able to disrupt those guys.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
I agree with everybody here. I'm in on this.
Speaker 6 (24:12):
This is the campaign tour, this is Keith Adams and
Keep Rogers Alive tour. These guys are showing up big time.
The fact that I saw Aaron Rodgers run for forty
five yards, you don't you rarely see that out of
Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
You know he's filling himself right now, and the Rams
better watch out. Listen. This is a Peter topic.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Peter very jolly about this, and it's contagious, it really.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Is, Peter. I don't want to bring you down and say.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
That the Jaguars probably have the worst defense in the
league and their secondary is terrible. And I think you'd
like to see it, because we were onto it yesterday
that the Jets have been such a negative story all year,
and Peter, he's even wearing green today. Go to Peter,
and it was like when the Grinch's heart was two
sizes too small and then against Jacksonville it's doctor suits writes, And.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Then what happened then?
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Well, in who will they say that the shrakes small
heart grew were three sizes that day and it was
Jets at Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
You know who else is Grinch's heart is growing? So
I got the New York Post here and all.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Seasons of the Gestics, and it's a flamethrow just torching them.
Here's the headline, Rogers maybe Jets best quarterback option for
twenty twenty five. Here it comes so Peter, yes, la
who doriy la hoo doray the Jets giving us a
merry Christmas.
Speaker 9 (25:29):
I like it.
Speaker 8 (25:30):
This is also got There's two prongs to this question.
It's yes, to celebrate the Jets in their first win
in ten weeks or whatever, but it's also a warning
and a shot to the Rams.
Speaker 9 (25:40):
Nice sure, don't overlook this game.
Speaker 8 (25:42):
The Jets fans are suddenly re engaged. It's the holidays.
They're gonna go to this one.
Speaker 9 (25:47):
Don't lose, Rams, don't lose. That would be a really
bad loss.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Shout out my girl, Cindy Lou. I like Ciddy Lou.
That's my goal. Wherever you are. Don't in Mooville.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Ye, Peter, it's a good sweatshirt. I don't think you
were leaning one way or the other at all, but
the green was perhaps the great choice for we interview.
Speaker 11 (26:07):
Welcome back everybody.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Well.
Speaker 11 (26:09):
To say the Lions are hit by the injury bug
this season is an understatement. They have twenty two players
on injured reserve, one of the latest being running back
David Montgomery, as we talked about, but also joining the
list defensive tackle Alien McNeil, lost for the year after
suffering a torn acl and Sunday's loss to the Bills.
McNeill missed four games last season with a sprained mcl
(26:32):
as well then in Sunday, so in this week's Sunday
night football game Seahawks hosting a colorful, fun and immersive
drone halftime show celebrating their fans.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
Forty years ago, the.
Speaker 11 (26:45):
Seahawks became the first professional sports team to retire a
jersey in honor of their fans, the Twelves, as they're
known as one of the loudest fan bases in all
of sports, twice sitting the Guinness World Record for the
loudest crowd noise at a sporting event. Today, there are
Twelves everywhere around the world wearing their twelve, flying those
(27:05):
twelve flags, and of course cheering on their Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
All right, we just did angry runs and naturally went
to a.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Defensive tackle from the Tennessee Titans, not Lamar Jackson, not
Josh Jacobs, big old three hundred and seventy pound to
and Andre Sweat. And the best part of that is
that now you can play with Devandre Sweat and Madden
and he will be even more superpowered. You're gonna get
into Mat medd An NFL twenty five Ultimate Team starting tomorrow,
(27:33):
find ninety three on the Titans or whatever team you
want to put him on, and just blow up everything
because they.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Are going to power him off the charts.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
He will be boosted with anger because we picked him.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Play with dev Andre Sweat.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
And absolutely piss off all your friends, all your brothers
and sisters playing against you, because they're gonna be like,
how did Sweat get so good? Well, it's the GMFB
felt Quick picked them for Angry Runs.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
We cannot wait to send you the scepter.
Speaker 9 (27:59):
That is it.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Madden NFL Meden twenty five Ultimate Team to and Andre Sweat.
We love you, man oft team starting tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
Kyle, I like all the non running back angry Run
winners because you're really challenging the programmers for Madden to
be like, so how do we make Devandre Sweat angry?
We're gonna have to try. Time for Outfit Replay presented
by Coles. I think somebody should consider walking into the
arena with their scepter one day. Anybody who wins you
should do that. Let's look at some awesome fits. Uh
(28:29):
off ours got his on head to toe holes, I
got mine on head to toe.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
You're looking very very nice. I like the Swede, I
like the level.
Speaker 9 (28:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
I appreciate that. I actually think you can buy jerseys
ap holds. I've seen them there.
Speaker 9 (28:41):
Yeah, I've seen them too.
Speaker 6 (28:42):
I've seen them and I've seen the hoodies as well.
With the feeling looking really sharp.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Uh huh.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Of course, with the homage the Minnesota Man to Randy Moss,
we love you, yeah and.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Speak on it. Hey, I mean just top to bottom.
Speaker 6 (28:55):
I even got the little protest sign right there in
the middle, the logo in the middle of his time.
But he's he's looking shot up with the baggy slats.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
It's nice.
Speaker 9 (29:02):
It's really nice.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Now.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
I try to dress like this, but I didn't. I
didn't have the hair down to hear. So look at
the Warrior winter Light from the Vikings mascot head to toe.
Got to get the security clearance.
Speaker 6 (29:15):
You know that in it though too. That's how pressive park.
It's pitted. It's a mascot and it's fitty.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
It's tough to get those stuffed biceps into jackets like that,
but like, hey, he gets it done.
