Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Six double digit comeback wins to Seal Week five. Are
you not entertained? This is Good Morning Football present of
my Old Trapper Beach Jerkey. Tuesday, October seventh, Jamie heard
on miss I'd say, Oh, Kyle Brent, Willie Cologne. That's
a Super Bowl champion sitting next to Kyle in New York.
Really great to have you. Great to see you. We're
talking to Kings City Chiefs this hour. And also, Kyle,
(00:31):
I believe you have an old fashioned phone that is ringing,
do you not?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, anybody can call if you want to talk to me.
I mean live on the air. We're doing it now
for the third time. We still haven't been pulled off
the air, which is success. It kind of feels like gravy.
Willie tlone very quickly give a letter grade to last
night's Jaguars Chiefs game.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Hey plus, hey plus, Yeah, that's our kind of game.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Let's go, let's start the show.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
New Ball County, let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper. That's right, GMFB.
Everybody on a Tuesday, Welcome inside Jamie Mansi, Willie and Kyle.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Kyle.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
A couple of years ago on the show, you did
a beautiful Dye Tribe about the NFC South and the
fact that it felt like no one wanted to win
the division. It was if you can haul it, you
can have it. I feel like the AFC South this
season is the opposite of that. It's if you have
a sword, you have to street fight for this thing.
Because everyone in the AFC South looks fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Yeah, they all look fantastic, and it really is cool.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
We make those division picks, Manti and we're always like
AFC South, we can put some gloves on, and you
know what, the AFC South has good quarterbacks and good
coaches and incredible records.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
And we saw some of that last night. Indeed we did.
Don't fall down on the job.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
And if you are Trevor Lawrence and you figure it
out eventually, Jacksonville looked great in Kansas City, Kyle, we
gotta talk about it. Let's look at the Long Highlight.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
I think we should.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
The Long Eyelight tells the story as he usually does.
The story begins with ver Lawrence being three to one,
and it's the best start of Trevor Lawrence's career. Also,
he's twenty six years old. Who's his birthday yesterday? And
if you care, because you're in second grade. Trever Lawrence
on the biggest play of this young season is going
to take the snap and.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Fall get up full again, get up, can win.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Put an amazing, weird, messy, sloppy, incredible touchdown all by.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
All, hard, big ways forty jack. Look at that now
you just feel the humidity. Can't shoe the screen is
just wet right now.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
And guess what, Trevor Lawrence is victorious. He looks in
the teeth of the Chiefs defense. A lot of those
guys with Super Bowl rings, some of multiple Super Bowl rings.
Trevor Lawrence as Pat Mahomes watches fireworks.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Cod damn, that's the beautiful shot right there. That should
be on the cover of the media.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Guy.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
That's a man cave photo. That's what I'm saying, right.
Blow that thing up, put it in a taste of
frame with some perfect matting head hanging in the cave.
You're gonna hang that loss on the Chiefs. They are
now two and three thirty one.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Twenty eight jags, I said, and I got the wolf
the wolf Down in Duvall County caught up with Travis Hunter,
the rookie after a very exciting win. Take it away,
Cam Travis Congress on the wind.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
First, take me into that go ahead touchdown by Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 7 (03:17):
What did you see as he stumbling gets up and
scores a touchdown?
Speaker 8 (03:22):
I was running my route, so I'm going to motion.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
As you see.
Speaker 8 (03:25):
I went in motion, and then by the time I
look back, I seen him on the ground. So I
look back and now I look back again, he was
up running.
Speaker 9 (03:31):
I was like, oh, touchdown, let's go.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
She got a name for that play. Let's touchdown, Trevor.
Touchdown Trevor. A good birthday present for him. Twenty sixth
a day. How did your quarterback play today? Play great?
You know, minus the interception.
Speaker 8 (03:44):
You know, we knew it was a whole. We thought
it was a whole, but hey, we bounced back, and
you know, he stayed with it. He's the leader of
the team, captain of the offense, and we go as
he going. He showed us that no matter that adversity,
just keep going, keep pushing.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
It's nice to see Travis Hunter's personality has sayed the
same since his college days, he gets drafted and now
he is really blossoming into a wonderful young man if
you will, in Jacksonville. Jacksonville gets the win. They beat
up on a team in the AFC that has bested
them often in regular season and January bested a lot
(04:16):
of teams. The Kansas City Chiefs drop they have a
losing season. Thus far Man, Si, what do you make
of Kansas City right now? For watching what you saw
last night?
Speaker 6 (04:23):
Yeah, I'm a little concerned, Jamie, I am, And I'm
not concerned because they're losing. I'm concerned at how they're losing.
We're not used to it, at least I'm not used to.
A Kansas City Chiefs team led by Andy REIDEBT has
self inflicting wounds, especially late in the game in the
second half. We all know that Patrick Mahomes shows that
picks six. That's a big that's a big mistake. However,
(04:44):
the ensuing kickoff, they get the ball, the ball, Rashard
Smith runs sixty three yards on the kickoff return and
they get a holding call that negates a great return
after an explosive play by the Jacksonville Jaguars. If you
want to kind of flatten out a pick six like this,
the best way to do is to catch ball on
the kickoff and return to six or three yards.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
How to the flight that you get a holding call
on that play.
Speaker 6 (05:11):
Well, then Harrison Booker then kicks the ball out of bounds,
and that's it's so strange that we started this week
off with the Rams game and Joshua Cardy opening up
overtime with the Rams and Niners kicking the ball not
in the landing zone, and then we end week five
with Booker kicking the ball out of bounds, and now
(05:32):
the Jacksonville Jaguars have the ball on the forty and
they drive the ball down and they seal it with
the game winning touch on with Trevor Lawrence. That's what
really concerns me, Jamie, is the way at which the
Chiefs are losing these games.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
It's not what we've been used to. We've seen the
Chiefs lose games.
Speaker 6 (05:47):
We haven't seen the Chiefs lose games in this fashion
where the committing penalties, where the committing turnovers that leads
into these type of losses. So that's what I took
from the game, Willie.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yeah, you're right, man, Tyler. Watching the triefs.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Acquire thirteen penalties on the night is definitely troubling. But
I think for me, it's the defense they This defense
historically has been known the close games, and when you
watch what they've done as of late, they've struggled in
that department. And you understand they signed Chris Jones solely
because what he does in the fourth quarter and how
he impacts the game. I got a clip right here
that for me, there's trouble in the water. Go back
(06:21):
to the play with Trevor Lawrence trips, sir, if you're
looking at if you're looking at Chris Jones, this is
the play right talking about the Lawrence touchdown. On the
Lawrence scramble touchdown, Chris Jones gives up on the play.
And for me, when you're a leader, when you're a
vocal leader, when you're an impact player, you got it.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
You got to show up.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
I've watched Michael Parks, Sis to Miles Garrett, to TJ.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Watt, all these guys. When the fourth quarter comes along,
they show up. They put on the Superman cap.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
That clip right there of Chris Jones standing there watching
Trevor Lawrence scamper to the end zone.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
To win the game.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
I have questions, where's the heart, where's the fight? How
do you give up on your defense? And how does
this defense give up when they needed the most. So
if you're the chiefs right now, you got to figure
out who you are on defense.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
I hear you man and I think man tie were
all over the kickoff mistake by Harrison Bucker's huge. This
is becoming more of our conversation more commonly. You can't
kick it out of bounds there, they're trying to get
it inside the twenty. Give him at the forty. I
saw the Chris Jones thing. We're going to try to
find that video, but people are all over him. He
kind of just stands up and walks away. Now, Chris
Jones is probably gonna be in the Hall of Fame someday.
He's been every single situation.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
But oh, take us through it.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Will watch what ninety five I'm going to ninety five
just standing there like he had a chance.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
If he's hustling me, he's digging. He gets Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Trevor Lawrence took time to get up, he had to
find his way, and he's got up.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
He's nobody around him, so he picked up his legs.
He was able to scool.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I'm trying to think in the sense I mean, we
see guys let other teams score before, but in this situation,
there wasn't much time left.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
But Kyle could have been That can't happen with him
because he's the best. He's the top dog of that defense.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
He has to be the one to make a play,
even if he dives and missus Trevor Lawrence. It's better optics.
This is bad optics for the Chiefs defense. With thirty
second one o'clock, you need to stop. You have to
lean on your best player on defense. And he's standing
upright watching the quarterback scamper and for a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
I'm being Devil's advocate.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Also, the Jaguars don't have time outs here, So in
a reality where Jones are someone else tackles Lawrence, they're screwed.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
They're in hurry up mode. They're either spiking, you're thrown
in the ends.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I don't remember what down it was, but like there
was a play to be made there. You could have
stilled the game there. The Jaguars almost blew it, and
then a future Hall of Famer.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
It's not a great. Look, big town players will cold
upon them. Do big tom things. You got to show
up and deliver, all right, So the Chiefs it's not
great right now? All right?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
So two and three, the question is going to go
around here, It's going to go on everywhere. Is that
when do you either hit the panic button it could
be now, or when do you jump ship?
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Even here's the deal.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
They have started this way before. They have started this
kind of start before. As if a bunch of years
back they ended up in the AFC title game. It
was the year that they lost the Bengals at home,
so they fixed it then. I'm not going to go
too deep into the Chiefs minutia, but I think it's
important about their schedule two and three.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
They have a month of games left.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
They got four games until the buye and it's just
quickly next is Detroit's not Great, Raiders, Commanders, and then Bills. Okay,
I feel like they have to win three of those games.
Because they win three of those games, they're five and four,
they go into the buy and everybody exhales.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Even if they just win half of them.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
They lose to Detroit and Buffalo say like they usually
lose the buffal in the regular season.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
That's not great.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Then they're sitting here at four and five at the
half way point, like we need to get to ten
and seven.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
All of the magic of Reid and Mahomes and all
that we respect, you can't beat math.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I don't care how good you are at the end
of the season, if the numbers don't in your favorite
Have you seen the AFC. There's crazy teams like Jacksonville
and Indianapolis who are coming now who have the numbers
in their favor. It is still pretty early. And I'm
not jumping shit because I've seen the Chiefs at two
and three before and they ended up in the title
game like they are every single year. My thing is
review this in one month, okay, And if they are
(09:57):
not five and four going into the buy, I don't
know what we do with this team because four and
five coming out and going down the home stretch against
these really AFC teams, including Indianapolis, including Denver, Houston, the Chargers,
like it's tough five and four at the bye and
then if not, like we got to say goodbye at
the bye.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
It feels like we're doing this a lot with the
Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes this season. This is only the
second time in Mahomes' tenure in starting that he has
a losing record through five games. So this is an
uncomfortable place to wait for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
What's up, Kyle?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
I just, Jamie, I'm sorry, I know you were, I
just I had forgotten. I wanted to say one thing.
And I'm always fascinated by the Chiefs fans in this
era because granted, they're so arrogant and they're so happy,
and God bless them, they should be. This is the
first season and we've been doing this whole run of
championships for them on the show that I'm starting to
see little whispers from Chiefs fans and they don't want
you to hear about maybe not our year. Maybe not
(10:53):
our year, and not a mass, not the majority, but
if you go in certain circles and certain common sections
or certain text threads, there's some about it's a great run.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
We'll get right.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
But I just don't think it's this year yet. And
the first time I've ever seen that, And Jamie, they'll
be like, we're not saying that.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
Where you see that, I'm seeing it.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I'm plugged into a lot of stuff and I'm starting
to first see whispers and maybe.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
This is not the year.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Well, it was tricky because there was a glimmer of
hope in that game against the Baltimore Ravens, and you figured, well,
if they were able to beat down on the Ravens
that way, maybe the Chiefs figured it out. I actually
think what happened was they ran into an absolutely faltering
Baltimore Ravens team And with that, we got to check
in with Tom Pellisero, our n Ahole Network insider with
us this morning, Tom, what's going on with the quarterback
(11:35):
position in Baltimore, because they got a lot of business
they have to tend.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
To and that can't be at the top of the list, Jamie.
The Ravens are very beat up.
Speaker 10 (11:43):
They desperately need to win, and once again they might
be without their starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson. John Harbad did
not provide any substantive updates, which is normal out of
Baltimore when he spoke with the Porters on Monday. Sand slowly,
We're in the process of figuring it out right now,
but it does seem unlikely under the circumstances that Lamar
will be out there this week against them. He just
(12:05):
injured that hamstring nine days ago. After this week's game.
They got to buy in week seven. So as badly
as they may need a win right now, and they
certainly do, giving Lamar a full three weeks off to
rest might be the better long term play now.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Also, John Harbaugh was.
Speaker 10 (12:21):
Asked about the possibility of starting someone other than Cooper
Rush at quarterback. Again did not answer specifically, but said
we will consider everything, which presumably would include giving Snoop Puntley,
who once made the Pro Bowl while filling in for
Lamar down the stretch, an opportunity at minimum to see
some play in time in this game.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
On Sunday, the Bengals and.
Speaker 10 (12:41):
Their coach Sack Taylor also say they are exploring options
at the quarterback position after a third consecutive loss and
another three interception performance by Jake Browning in the place
of Joe Burrow. My understanding is the Bengals have had
conversations about potential trades. Nothing is immined at this point
with Kirk Cousins or anybody else, So as of now,
(13:03):
if they're going to make a d of any kind
or even sign a quarterback, you would anticipate that would
happen today. For the moment, though, Jake Browning remains in
line to get another start, and they would hope play
more like he did down the stretch in that game,
as opposed to what we had seen from him in
the Bengals offense so far. As for the forty nine Ers,
another week, another quarterback question. Brock Party still dealing with
(13:25):
that toe injury that he aggravated when he returned to
the lineup in Week four. There's been no ruling out
of rock Party at this point, but again, he missed
two games the first time around. Potentially could this be
another two game absence they got a huge game on Sunday.
The forty Nineers are four to one despite all their
injury issues as they get set the head to Tampa
and take on the four to one Buccaneers. If no Party,
(13:47):
it would be Mac Jones getting another opportunity. He's three
to zero as their starter, and his contract Jamie calls
for with a fourth win, he had a trigger a
four hundred thousand dollars incentive with another one hundred grand
for each game he would.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Win after that.
Speaker 10 (14:02):
It's a little bit of money on the line for
Mac Jones if he gets that opportunity. But we'll see
how much, if anything, brock Perty is able to do
here through the course the practice week.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
I want to say thank y'all for absolutely everything. And
I've come and playing here. It's been great. It's been
an honor. I love you guys, and it's always good
to come back home. Retire Colt Man. I love you guys,
and I appreciate you guys each and every day. Man, God,
bless y'all.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Thank y'all well. And they loved him right back.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
He was selected in the second round of the twenty
eighteen draft by the Indianapolis Colts, and that same year
that man became the defensive Rookie of the Year. He's
a three time first team All Pro and a longtime
friend of our show. It's the Maniac, It's Jack Letter.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
What's up? Not to be confused.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Also, retire Jersey in Lakeview High School.
Speaker 11 (14:58):
Lore.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
I believe that to be true. So you are just
being memorialized all over football town.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Shock.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Great to see you. But with the Colts, with the NFL,
you decide to hang up the cleats. How's life now?
Speaker 7 (15:10):
What?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
How's the aftermath of this decision? And you're what your
world looks like.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Oh man, it's it's great, man.
Speaker 12 (15:18):
You know, I'm coaching back at high school, enjoining up there,
trying to make the little kids better. But my favorite
thing of it, man, just been able to spend time
with the family. Now I'm home every day, I get
to go to practicies, I get to go to games
and stuff like that. So it's great.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
It's great.
Speaker 12 (15:34):
I'm loving it, loving the decision and looking forward to
the you know what's coming forward in my life, Shack.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
I'm older than you, bro, but I remember watching your film.
I would watch your film during during my pregame just
to get a feel because there are very few people
that you and your watch and we can just tell
they love the game. Where does that love for the
game of football come from in your life?
Speaker 12 (15:54):
Oh man, it comes from just just being doubted, man,
just being being the smallest thing on the field majority
of the time, sitting the bitch and then finally get
an opportunity to play, man, it makes you, makes your
respect the game. And then sitting on the bench, man,
it makes you when you get an opportunity to take
full advantage of your opportunity, It makes you understand now,
if you get an opportunity, don't waste it. And every
(16:15):
time I touch the field, I just play it like
it was my last and give it everything I got.
And just man, I love it when you love the
game as much as I do. Man, it is showed
a show on the field, and what.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
It shows back is the respect and your legacy from
your teammates. Man. Your teammates weighed in, specifically Jonathan Taylor
and beforest Balkan.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
I want you to listen to what they had to say.
Speaker 13 (16:35):
Shak was a generational talent. Like I mean, we've all
seen it. I mean just his impact in the game
and the community. But really just he was a rare
talent the linebacker position.
Speaker 9 (16:47):
That's one of the best players that I've ever played with.
From a leadership standpoint, from an actual on like on
field play standpoint, that's someone like when I came in,
I'm like, Okay, this is someone who puts it on
tape every single week, Shack.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
What's it like to hear that, man?
Speaker 12 (17:04):
Is It's amazing to hit the words. Man, It just
it makes you understand that you did everything the right way.
Speaker 11 (17:11):
Man.
Speaker 12 (17:11):
You treat everybody with respect. You went the word day
in and day out, and they just talk about it.
You made sure that you put it on tape and
then you just knew how to lead. And for me
to walk away from the game as early as I
did and have my teammates talk about me in that matter, man,
it's it's a blessing. It's a blessing. And I'm just thankful,
thank for the opportunity to play in Thankful for the
(17:33):
opportunity to be their teammates and be their friend throughout
this whole thing. And it's great and it makes me
more so at Peach to know that I did my
job to the best of my ability and my teammates
saw that and they think the world of me.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Shack. Let's talk about the cults, the current state of
the cults. Man, Are they for real? Should we be
believers in them? Oh?
Speaker 12 (17:52):
You bestbelieve it. You best believe it.
Speaker 14 (17:54):
Man.
Speaker 12 (17:55):
They're playing great, compromentary football in all three phases, just
like last last week. Man, they get a block punt,
all the special teams, they get two innocup on defense,
and then offensively, man, I think they score or five
touchdowns and it just goes to show. Man, the energy
is back. In Indianapolis. Man, defensively, they are flying around.
Danny Dimes is putting the ball on the money, making
(18:17):
the right throws. The whole offense line is blocking great
and JT just being JT. So no matter what you
do against them, man, they're gonna find a way to
win the ball game. And there's no queting them. And
you see when they're up big, they're still got their
foot on the gas and they're just going to show
that no matter who they're playing, what they're doing, they're
gonna go out and do it. And kach A is
(18:37):
doing a great job with them. Man, I felt that
when I was there, Man, the whole guys accountable. He
pushed guys, and Chris Ballad did a great job in
the draft of drafting guys and to help his team out.
And man, it's showing. It's showing. And the guys that
are really buyding and the coach are the real deal.
And you can book the ticket right now. I believe
in it.
Speaker 6 (18:54):
But somebody else has out who's the real deal is
zay or Franklin. And he got a sack in the
game and he got to do your celebration. Talk us
a little bit about your relationship with him on and
off the field.
Speaker 12 (19:05):
Oh Man, you and we both came in together as rookies,
and you know, I just seen him working from being
a special team guy and now everything is on his shoulders.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
Man.
Speaker 12 (19:15):
The way that he's leading them, God, the way that
he's bringing that tenacity down. Man, it's great to see.
And you know, we still had our relationship. You know,
we talked every once in a while, and you know,
I'm happy to see him do what he do. Man,
it's a blessing, especially to see his role, his journey
to where he's at now. Man, it's a blessing to
see it.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
I'm happy for him, Shack. You gave us a blessing.
Several years ago.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
We do some segment here called Angry Runs where we
find the guy who runs somebody over or stiff arms everything,
and we scream about him and we celebrate him. And
you know what I'm talking about, because you made history
October twenty nineteen, Dude, you were the first player ever
to win Angry Runs on the defensive side of the bootball.
And we have the clip.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Let's watch it.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
A coach, linebacker Darius Leonard met up with Roman Rains.
They took a photo and among his comments, Darius said,
I'm going to try.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
To Superman punch someone Sunday. Let's go to Sunday, shall we.
It's the end of the game.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Darius Leonard is in fact going to call game against
the Shawn Watson.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
You're gonna see the pick. And then he gets up
and what did Teris Leonard do? Fall down? Look out?
Kenny tells, oh, no, oh, that's a linebacker.
Speaker 12 (20:28):
Dude.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
We're laughing, you're laughing. What do you remember about all that? Oh?
Speaker 12 (20:31):
Man, I remember that pull. I was yesterday man dropping
just in, you know, just I covered three, seeing the
incut he throws the balls ball his chip, just laying
out for it and then getting back up. I knew
that it was one man to beat man. It just
went back to my heights to days. Man just steal
for him. I got long arms, and I I knew
that if I get my right hof Freeman, I was
able to steal from him. Man, it's just a blessed.
(20:52):
I love I love seeing God you steal on by
me girls, So it's it's great. And then when I
saw that I got the angry runs man, it was it.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Was it was lit it was very lit. Man.
Speaker 12 (21:01):
I'm grateful for us.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
It was.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Dude, we give out a scepter nowadays, but back in
the day, what you're seeing there, there's got a ground shock,
got a crown.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
He got the crown. Do you still have it? And
if not, we will send you a scepter.
Speaker 12 (21:14):
Of course, I still having it. Man, It's in my
pool Elles right now.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
Man, I have it. I haven't layed out.
Speaker 12 (21:19):
Because when you see it now, man, you see a
lot of guys that got that have it. And then
you know, I got a lot of my keys. They
come over with you watch film and stuff, and I
showing some of the things and to bring that out
and let him know that I was the first defensive
guy to get that. Man, it's pretty cool. And you know,
I got to ask some bragging points with these key
is nowadays.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Man, Shack, what do you make of the fact that
the Colts, Kyle said a couple of segments ago, maybe
the only team in the NFL right now where both
quarterbacks have angry run scepters. Is that emblematic of what
the Colts are about this season?
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Of course? You know they.
Speaker 12 (21:55):
I mean every since I always at the coach Man,
it's always about, you know, the run game, man, getting
involved in the run game and being physical. And you
see Quentin Nelson all the time talking about uh being
phelic school and finishing the blocks, and we always talk
about finishing the run. And that's what the guys are
in that mentality over there with Anthon Richmond, he's definitely
gonna try to run you over with a big body,
and then Danny Jones he's gonna try to run you
(22:17):
over too, because it's all about physicality and putting it
on tape that they're not backing down for anyone. And
it's just great to see the felicality there now on
this offense.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Shack, shout out your high school team that you're coaching.
How we look in the season. Who we plan Friday night?
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Oh man, we like you high school.
Speaker 12 (22:33):
We got we got convers bak coming to town. Man
there they're seven and oh eight and oh, I guess
so everybody's against us. So we're taking on an underdog
role just to come out and just play the best
of our ability and see me come out and get
a bigger Let's.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Go lake you Shack Leonard, everybody, long time friend of
the show. Thank you so much for coming on talking
about life now and congratulations once again on a wonderful career.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Much sencepter. He has a crown and us uptore so good.
Here we go. Let's do it live on the line.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
That's gonna be you, guys. That is the role you
play in this segment because you are on the phone line.
We have all kinds of phones here, including working ones.
We are now going to take live calls. They are
not plans, they're not GMFB staff members. They are real
NFL fans with something to say. I put on my
Princeton sweatshirts today just to trigger you, to give you
something to just hate, give your opinions a little bit stronger,
maybe a little saltier. Let's find out first what we
(23:38):
do here. Is I going to have the king of
the hill, Queen of the hill. Whoever has the best
call will stay on that hill until someone knocks them off.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
At the end of the segment, we'll have a winner.
Is this thing on? We have many, many, many people
on hold, and we.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Start first with an Arizona Cardinals fan.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
This should be good. Let's go to Marty in Virginia. Marty,
you were on the air. Go we got thirty seconds.
Speaker 15 (24:00):
Kyle, I'm angry to a gloveless scamp. Scataboo, where's my glove?
Try to words my team. The performance on Sunday by
Arizona is inexcusable. On your own turf. The Cardinals home
record the past four years is ten and eighteen. That
record is not a reflection of the players. No, that
record speaks volumes of the lack of discipline and motivation,
(24:22):
and that starts with the coaching staff. This team was
one game away from Super Bowl with Carson Palmer and
Drew Stanton at quarterback and with Bruce arians as the
head coach.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
All right, Marty, you were just getting ramped up.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
You were passionate, but you were really solid, and I
understand basically after that loss that you just had to
the Titans.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
It could have been a lot worse than that. One
of the strangest losses. I think it was Ryan Fitzpatrick.
In fact, I know it was.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Fitz was on Twitter saying that's the worst loss I've
ever seen, and it really was baffling, not only the
drop of.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
The goal line, but then the ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Fumble and interception touchdown thing by the Titans.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Marty, I'm proud of you for staying in your shoes.
Oh look, we have video of it. You can re
live it one more time. Marty.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
If you're hanging on right now with references to Carson
Palmer and Drew.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
Stanton, have a look at this. Oh great, it's an interception,
man May and that's the Benny hill Yack Andy Sacks. Guys.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
You into the Titans. I'm supposed to cheer you up
for something, I'm not doing it. Absolutely terrible loss. I
like the Cardinals. I like a lot of what they
have going on, but the fact that Marty could be
that much of a gentleman, Marty, and I will call
you that after what will definitely be the worst loss
of the twenty twenty five season in Roly in Week five.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
I respect it.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Let's next go, Let's try to cheer things up by
going to a Browns fan, Trish, Trish in the.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
Great State of Ohio. What are your thoughts?
Speaker 14 (25:42):
You have thirty seconds, Trish Ashburn here dog in the house.
I just want to tell you know, I've been Diar
Brownsan forever and this is the first time in a
while that I've seen the Browns look okay, at least
out our way.
Speaker 16 (25:55):
Dylan looked good.
Speaker 14 (25:56):
He brought the great energy, He was accurate, seemed like
it got the ball out of quickly.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
He was calm.
Speaker 10 (26:01):
You know, we're die hard, faithful.
Speaker 14 (26:03):
I know we're all hired gluttons for punishment. I think
even you know, but like cardiac kids, baby for life,
Like let's go, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Oh? I think I do know what. Oh thank you, Tris.
But you're out of time, Trish. You're one and four.
It's not going well. And yet look at you, mister optimistic,
mister positive.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
I like that you can come in here and absolutely
scream about your team, but how much you hate them
if you want, this is a this is a venue
for that. But the fact that you could go to
Europe and lose to the Carson Wentz pseudo Vikings.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
And Dylan Gebruer looks fine, look pretty good.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
The fact that you are there, I don't know if
it's a commentary on how beaten down you are, that
the fact that you're oneing four and kind of competed
is happy or maybe you're just choosing to go glass
half full, even though that glass is likely full of
Tito's vodka.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Trish respect, I like that you do that. Probably a
lot of fans. Browns fans don't do that. You know,
we should hear from Giants fans.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
This is a guy named Joey in New Jersey, one
of roughly three hundred thousand Joey's in the great state
of New Jersey.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Joey the Giants fan. You have thirty seconds. Let a rip.
Joey going on, Kyle.
Speaker 16 (27:09):
I'm a big, big fan of New Jersey. I was
in New Orleans over the weekend. First two offensive drives,
everything was looking good. Life was good. But after that,
you know how it went. You know, it's a rookie
quarterback in the second game.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
I guess we expected.
Speaker 16 (27:24):
But the defense is what really got me upset.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
It's too good on paper to.
Speaker 16 (27:30):
Be to be shut out by the Saints team. They
had notes that I think they only had one quarterback hit.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
I mean, you look around the.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
League and they ran out of time, Joey, just like you, buddy. Listen, guys,
it's the thirty seconds. This is not one of these
three hour radio shows. It's a tight TV show.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
You got to come flying out of the gates.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Take Take, Take, Take, opinion joke whatever, there's no warm up,
there's no how you doing, Joey. I love you, I
respect you. It was a fun one week, though, wasn't it?
Where the Giants won and they beat the Chargers and
these two rookies are so cool they'll get back there.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
But that was a tough log.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
I love that Joey went from New Jersey to New Orleans.
See Jackson Dart versus Spencer Rattler. You can't miss that
Joey call. Next week, I got you again, guys, I'm
gonna test now. This is my producer's note say that
this caller is Renee, and it literally says in the
doc pronounced like Renee Russo that producer knows me. I
know Renee Russo, Renee in Wisconsin. I'm the Texans Renee.
(28:23):
First of all, I'm gonna put you on the spot.
What is your favorite Renee Russo movie? And then tell
us about the Texans.
Speaker 11 (28:28):
Go fuck Jesus, I can't even think of a Renee
Russou movie right now.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Thomas crowd is that.
Speaker 11 (28:34):
I'm happy that the excuse me?
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Just go, just go, Renee. Do you you got twelve seconds?
Speaker 9 (28:41):
I'm sorry?
Speaker 5 (28:44):
Okay, Number one.
Speaker 11 (28:45):
I'm happy that the Texans finally got their heads out
of their behinds and actually won a game against I know,
an injury riddled Ravens team, but I'm so happy we
scored so many points. At the beginning of the season.
I was kind of pee od at Jamie because she
threw the Texans helmet off the damn table.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
All right, that's our best call so far. One.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
I messed it up by putting Renee on the spot
about Rene Russo. I would have gone Thomas Crown affair,
but you could have gone in the line.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
Of fire, head up her butt. She actually had beat
with Jamie. Nobody has to beat with Jamie. Jamie didn't.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Renee didn't like Jamie through the Texans helmet off the
table because they didn't pick the Texas be in the playoffs. Renee,
currently you are at the top of the heat right now.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
I'm less.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
We're gonna go right now to a chiefs caller. This
is in Missouri. This is Debbie, and I'm looking at
the notes and it says, wtf happened last night? And
what was Chris Jones doing? Debbie in Missouri? Can you
take out Renee for best caller? You got thirty seconds.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
Okay, I want to tell you what it's like to
be a Chiefs fan. First of all, we're up, We're up.
Everybody's happy, smiling and mahomies on the sideline cheering everybody
up and smiling, and I'm thinking, oh my gosh, it's good.
Speaker 11 (29:53):
We're good.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
And then we're going to second half and it's all
goes downhill from there, and the whole play, I'm still
thinking we're good until I see Trevor Lawrence on the ground, Yeah,
we're gonna win. Where are our heep it in? And
then Chris Jones is standing at the Bill Go line
like it's.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Debbie.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
I can't really sympathize that much when you come in
and say what it's like to be a Chief man.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
I'm sorry. Did you guys get a flat tire on
your rolls? Royce? What happened? You have a little bit
of a plumbing leaky sink in your mansion?
Speaker 1 (30:29):
You have had a wonderful, wonderful run that you're still
in the middle of. I know the team isn't as
good this year, and I know the record isn't as good,
and oh wow, you lost in prime time. I don't
have a lot of sympathy. I'm sorry, Debbie. I'm sure
you can imagine why it's been that good. But I
will say the Chris Jones thing is fascinated. You have
not seen this clip yet this morning on the game
winning touched on by Trevor Lawrence where he falls and
then falls again. Future Hall of Famer Chris Jones looks
(30:52):
like he's standing there and checking his phone or smoking
a cigarette or something. I love Chris Jones full respectful.
This is a very bizarre play. It's as if he
wants to let the Jaguar score, which some defenses do,
but not in this context.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Again, the Jaguars had no timeouts. If you touch.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Trevor Lawrence down here, the clock is tickling, the Jaguars
are scrambling.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Just get him down you may win the game. There.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Weird, weird look for Chris Jones. He's gonna be asked
about that a lot. He's gonna have to have a
good ans.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
Let's do one more call. Let's do.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Should we do a Niners fan, a Seahawks fan, you
know what, Let's do a Pats fan from Oregon. Sam
in Oregon on line five, you have thirty seconds. You're
the last caller. Currently, Renee from Wisconsin is on the
top of the hill. Can you knock Renee off? Let's
find out?
Speaker 16 (31:38):
Go hello, Kyle, Jamie man T. I love you all.
If you're great, Go New England, Go Patriots. Drake May's
looking like the new Josh Allen in the division. Mike Rabel,
I'd go to war for him. I'd commit the heinous
crime for him. Probably he's the man, absolute legend at
called football real quick Organ Dave Beavers. It's a hard
(31:59):
time to be a Beaver fan.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
I apologize.
Speaker 16 (32:01):
It's a sad oh and fit not looking good.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
This is crazy that.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
I'm on here, Sam, I love you.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
It sucks when you run out of script and your
script can only carry twenty seconds, so then you pivot
to an Oregon State football take which can only carry
six seconds, and the last five is just This is
crazy to be on here. It's crazy for me too, Sam,
I can't believe we're doing this. I've been on the
show ten years. We've never done anything like it gets
who Our winner is Renee and Wisconsin, who only had
a twelve.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Second take, but it had teeth. She called out.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Jamie, which I like, just because it's different and it's fresh,
and I put her on the spot with a Renee
Russo movie and it's fine, you're not supposed to not
lead the weapon three. I don't know, Renee, you won,
but really the winner is all of us.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
We got through.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
It is GMFB Radio, also known as on the Line.
Start calling for next week. We have thousands and thousands
of callers. You all tweet it when we don't come through,
but until then, the lines are closed. See you later
and click
