Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
God Bless the USA.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
We're all back on Good Morning Football, presented by Old
Trapper Beef Jerky, Tuesday, September thirtieth, the final day in
September before October hits, and that's when we really start
to look at the football schedule. All right, Jamie here
at all mant iao, Isaiah standback here in Los Angeles.
Kyle Grant in New York. You know we were worried, Kyle.
You weren't going to make this segment because you just
returned from the Angry terrorists.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Jamie, if you can come back from Ireland, I can
come back from the.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Roof of this building.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I made it in time, so did you. And you
know what we thought, angry.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Runs screaming with loud, heavy metal in New York City
in the morning was just not enough. So we're gonna
do something one hundred times crazier. We're going to take
live phone calls from viewers in just a few segments.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Hey, Bengals, fans, got anything on.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Your mind, Just fans, anything you'd like to give off
your chest, do it right now.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
We'll put the phone number out, we will take live calls.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
We got Mann Time, we got Isdiah, we got Jamie,
We've got Good Morning Football.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Start the show.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper. Such
a busy Tuesday on GMFP. Jamie Mantai, Kyle Isaiah, we
already know what went down during the Angry Run segment.
This is the scepter that gets shipped out to players.
There is a scance, a skeleton sconce that holds the
scepter and you can go like this, and let's just
say you're feeling a certain way about your team, Like

(01:37):
what if this was an old fashioned telephone and you just.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Did a little beep boop beep.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
There was a phone number that you could call and say, Hello, Kyle,
I'm feeling quite angry about my team. Kyle, do we
have the phone number? And how do you think this
went last week?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
All right, so the second time we're taking live callers
on Good Morning Football, that is eight three three talk Kyle,
tlkky l E. I swear these are not plants, they
are not actors, they're not part of the GMFP crew.
And if you heard the calls last week, you can
definitely tell they're not great, no authentic.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yes, we'll be doing it shortly.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Call complain, scream, celebrate, whatever you want, call me know.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
There were two mon.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
In night football games on last night, and frankly two
teams that I had not won a game yet, so
I'm sure their fans were feeling certain ways. However, somebody
tally to win.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Kyle.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Let's go to the first highlight that you have. However,
I have the winless one, so sorry that was out
of order.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Go ahead, my friend, that's okay.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Let's rock and roll. We go to Bengals at Broncos.
The Bengals in this game were broken. The question is
going to be fixed. But enough about the Bengals Broncos
two and two, twenty eight to three, resounding home victor
and national television. That should be the most compelling point
of this. But Jamie Ordo, why don't you take us
to a more competitive contest?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Both teams trying to get things rolling within a division
that is absolutely dominated by the Bills, Tyreek kill justin
Field trying to lead their team to a happy Aaron
Glenn allegedly this, according to sag Zach Rosenblatt was yelling
so loud at the Jets that you could be heard
in the press conference room after it. So AG's doing
his best in his first year as a head coach
with the New York Jets. Unfortunately, they have yet to

(03:07):
tally win, and the Miami Dolphins got their first twenty
seven to twenty one the final. However, the quarterback too
grateful for the win, but thinking of his teammate that
was hurt during the game.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
You know, my thoughts are out to the guys that
got hurt tonight. My thoughts and prayers are also at Reek,
you know. But it's a great feeling that we feel tonight. Obviously,
when when you win, you know, that's in a way
one of the best the odorance for what you could
be going through. So I would say, you know, we're

(03:39):
enjoying it right now, but we just got to find
a way to continue to stack those wins in the
win column and continue to keep that going throughout the season.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I'll say it once and I'll say it again. The
chatty version of Tuatungue of Iailoa is my favorite of
the Dolphins quarterback. He always has something really thoughtful to say.
He mentioned Tyreek. We're thinking of him as well. In
this comeback and the Dolphins they got their first win. MANSI,
you got a big time takeaway from their takedown once
again Aaron Glenn and the.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
Jets, Yes, I got. My prayers are with Tyreek Hill.
It's such a devastating injury and you never want to
see a brother go down like that. And I'm especially
sad because when you watch yesterday's game, you start to
see the twenty twenty three Miami Dolphins offense again, you
start to see all of those trick plays that they

(04:25):
like to run. They ran too yesterday Malikue Washington on
that cool little pass that too I had to him,
and then on the touchdown to Devon a Chen And
so there's this swagger that you started to see with
the Miami Dolphins that you hadn't seen in some time.
And in order to have some swagger, you have to
have this confidence.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
And I want to go to a play.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
I don't know if we have it, but Razulo Douglas
on a third down play in the fourth quarter, watch
him just call out this route by Garrett Wilson before
the play.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
He's going in.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
He's going in, He's going in, and he.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
Just plays flatfooted and breaks on this ball and almost
comes up with the interception. That is such a contrast
to the Miami Dolphins defense that we saw play the Bills.
It's such a contrast to Miami Dolphins team that we
saw play at the Bills as a team that started
to let loose a little bit. And so I'm devastated
for Tyreek Hill because he no longer can be a
part of that when he was part of a slow

(05:18):
process that was Miami Dolphins for the first few weeks
of the season. So prays up to him. But it's
so good to be able to see two do his
thing behind the back, tosses, flip passes, all of that stuff.
So things are going out front of Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 7 (05:30):
Yeah, definitely prayers up for Tyreek and his family. I
hate that image of his mom being right there. I
can't imagine what she was feeling in that moment. But
I want to talk about the Jets, and I know
we're seeing the headline Jets worse start since twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
You know what I'm saying is Aaron Glenn, does.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
He know what he's doing?

Speaker 7 (05:48):
All the question marks revolving around them, and the reality.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Is they're not that bad. They don't seem.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
Like they're like you don't get good vibes when you're
watching the game when you really look at it. The statistically,
three of their four losses are accumulative ten points.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
They lost to the Steelers.

Speaker 7 (06:03):
By two points, they lost to the Bucks by two points.
They lost to the Dolphins by six points. These guys
are just a little bit off. This is a team
that is third in the league in rushing one hundred
and forty four yards per game.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
They are doing good things.

Speaker 7 (06:15):
However, they have to be able to convert when they
get down to the red zone. They're sixty percent. That's
seventeenth in the league. Third down they're twenty ninth in
the league. They only have thirty one percent on third down,
so they're not sustaining drives. So when you take a
team that is losing by one position games out of
three of the three of their first four losses and
they're not being able to withstand drives, that is going

(06:37):
to result in losses. So if these guys can find
a way offensively.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
To stay on the field move the chains.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
I think they are going to be in a better
position because they're really just missing this much.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
I think Aaron Glenn's.

Speaker 7 (06:47):
Doing a good job, and obviously they just need to
do a little bit more to push themselves over the
edge getting the win column.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Isaiah, this show is often about optimism and positivity, and
which is why I respect you brought up this morning.
That was a very clever way to look at it
and to cheer them up. It's also about transparency and authenticity.
I can't sit here personally in New York City this
morning and tell the Jets it's not that bad. It's
pretty bad, and I'm going to try to get through this.

(07:14):
The good news is you're making history, a lot of history.
The Jets are now own four. Aaron Glenn is owned four.
The last Jets head coach to start oh to four.
Bring up the picture picture number one of two. The
last Jets head coach in twenty nineteen to start oh
to four. That's Adam Gase, all right. The last one
before that, man Titeo, pay attention, nineteen seventy six, the

(07:35):
last Jets coach before that to start on four.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
You know who that is? Man time? Definitely not brother.
That's Lou Holtz. Baby, that is Lou Holtz. Wow, Yes, that.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Is Jets head coach Lou Holt in the seventies, twelve
years before he won a national championship for the Fighting Irish.
This is how what is that a word processing machine behind?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
I don't even know what I'm looking at right there.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
That's the last time a Jets head coach has gone
on four, and they've had some stinkers. No Jets head
coach has ever gone on five. Jets played the Cowboys
next week, I said history.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Also making history, last.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Night, Braylan Allen became the first player this season to
lose a fumble on the Golden.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Goat's goal to go situation. First player ever.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Do you know that the Jets through four games have
zero takeaways, not one. They haven't intercepted a pass, they
haven't recovered a fumble, and they're also the first team
to lose since twenty twenty to lose a fumble on.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Their first two drives. The Jets have no takeaways.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
They are the fifteam to start zero to four with
no takeaways.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
In the last ninety years.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
And lastly, as we get to the b roll, thank
God to cleanse the palate, have somebody to look at
the problem is this? You didn't expect them to be
four and zero. You may not even expect them to
two and two, but they were simple, basic expectations that
you wanted from this team. And the number one thing
that Aaron glenm kept talking about was penalties and accountability
and penalties and penalties and penalties. Last night, the Jets

(08:58):
had nine penalties on offense alone. That is tied for
the second most in a game over the past twenty
five years.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
So it's second most. It's not the most. That's optimistic.
It's second most.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
But if you're looking for any kind of foothold to
build something on, it's that it's really bad right now
and it likely won't get worse. Okay, if you are
tired of hearing the same old Jets, I've got good
news for you. It's not the same old Jets. They're worse.
That's good. But now all you can do is build.
And I know the proper comparison should be Dan Campbell's

(09:31):
starting out with the Lions with a mess for a
long time. But you got to give us something. You
got to give us. All right, we didn't win, and
we don't have maybe the quarterback, but man, this team hits,
they can cover.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
And they're smart.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
And they're disciplined that we are not winning yet, but
we have those bedrocks. I don't really see the bedrocks yet,
and that's what I'm looking for. Kyle.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
I hear what you're saying. There are people that just
listen to you and may not necessarily agree or they
don't like the truth serum that you just delivered upon them. However,
what stands out to me most he who always requests
that the show remain positive and find the sunny side
of the rainbow, if you will, in situations like this,
it is that while those are all important things to

(10:10):
remember that the Jets are making some unfortunate history in
this capacity, but you can't even go to the Dolphins
side of things in a win like this and say, wow,
it looks like the Dolphins could turn things around or
they could because that win, while it was fine for
the Dolphins of their first one, are you saying that
you'd rather talk bad Jets than look at the Dolphins,
Because to me, that win was fine for the Dolphins,

(10:32):
but the Tyreek Hill loss implies that they have a
lot more problems coming their way over the rest of
the season.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, it's not a pretty matchup. We know that, guys.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
The only real positive thing I'm taking out of last
night was the Broncos looked really good and we talked
about that to start the show, So God blessed the Broncos.
I think you'll probably go to the playoffs this year.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
But this is this is kind.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Of our burden, isn't it, Jamie, that we wake up
after twenty seven to twenty one Dolphins and Dolphins most
famous player gets brutally injured and we have to be like,
we love football, listen the difficult, difficult game building blocks.
Maybe Mike McDaniel saved this job last night. I'm all
for that. I don't like calling from people's jobs. Bengals fans,
I'm looking at you, and maybe the Dolphins can get

(11:12):
something going. But other than that, the Thursday night is
a couple days away, so that's good.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
All right, let's show the good people this graphic. It's
very important before we get to the next part of
the show because, as you just mentioned a couple of
those teams, if you want to get some things off
your chest, we have a phone number for you on GMFB.
In the next segment, in just a couple minutes away,
you guys can talk to Kyle Brant on the phone
one A three three t LK kyl E. For you
youngins who watch our show, that was a old telephone

(11:38):
ring that just happened. And that is a roto dial
or whatever you call it. It clicks at times.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Whatever.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Pick up your phone and talk to Kyle. He is
waiting in the wings until then. Just to make sure
you have all the information before you are buried in sorrow.
Let's check in with Tom Pella Sero. Tom, good morning
to you, our NFL network insider. We just talked Jets Dolphins, Tom,
and we did our best, however, to just show one
play on a Tyreek kill catch because it was just
an absolute Travis. See what happened seconds later was a

(12:07):
really tough flow for Dolphins fans and Tyreek. What's the
prognosis here?

Speaker 8 (12:10):
Well, Jamie Tyreek Hill is set for major reconstruction surgery
today on multiple ligaments after suffering a dislocated knee, a
torn acl and additional damage in that gruesome series of
events in last night's game. His season is now obviously over.
The question for Tyreek Hill becomes what is his prognosis

(12:34):
for twenty twenty six? This is not a straight ACL
eight to nine months. This is a much more complicated process.
It potentially could include additional surgeries for Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
He is thirty two years old.

Speaker 8 (12:47):
He is entering the final year of his contract with
the Dolphins, has a five million dollars roster bonus and
eleven million dollars guarantee that is set to kick in
if he is on the roster the third day of
the league year in March. At that point, he is
still going to be in the rehab process, so some
decisions lie head for the Dolphins. Certainly there is questions
about exactly what the future in general is for Tyreek

(13:10):
Kill In the short term. Tyreek headitt for surgery today
and the Dolphins have to figure out how to continue
to move forward without their best player. In other injury news,
Ravens quarterback Lamar jackson status for this week's game against
the Texans is up in the air after suffering a
hamstring injury that caused him to not be able to
finish this past Sunday's game against the Chiefs. John Harbaugh

(13:33):
was short on details and speaking to reporters on Monday,
but did say that there was no way that Lamar
Jackson could have returned to the game regardless of what
the score was. That certainly raises questions about whether or
not Lamar will be able to go in the short term,
or whether the Ravens will want him on the field
in the short term. Take a look at the schedule.
They have a buy in Week seven. Potentially, depending on

(13:56):
the severity of the injury, could they hold Lamar out
of two games plus the buy effectively give him a
month off to get fully healthy if it goes down
direction Cooper Rush is the backup for Baltimore. One more
injury of note Joe Alt, the Chargers left tackle who's
played in that position because Rashaun plus Slater is out
for the entire season. Now, Joe Alt set to miss

(14:17):
some time after suffering a high ankle spring against the Giants.
Now there's still, from my understanding, no decisions about whether
or not all could end up on injured reserve.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Again, take a look at the schedule.

Speaker 8 (14:28):
The fourth game that the Chargers have coming up, it's
on a Thursday night. That's a pretty contracted window.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
This is expected to.

Speaker 8 (14:34):
Be several weeks for Joe Alt, so potentially an ir
situation for him as well.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Jamie Welcome to Good Morning Football.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Welcome to on theline AKAGMFB Radio. We are here in
media market number one, New York City, just steps away
from the legendary w A N right down the street,
where are some of the most famous and infamous callers
in the history of radio have weighed in, and we
pay homage to that today with this, I have real
live callers on the line. These are not plants, These

(15:04):
aren't the bots. There are not crew members. They are
real callers with real takes. Our first caller today comes
from Ohio. Now we're gonna have thirty seconds on the clock,
and I will be keeping track of who is the
best caller, and I will crown the winner at the end.
Kind of a King of the Hill or Queen of
the Hill type situation. Our first caller, his name is
Sod Saad. I can only wonder if he's calling to

(15:26):
talk about plane surface.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Sod in Ohio. You're on the air. Thirty seconds letter rip.

Speaker 9 (15:31):
Kyle, I'm here, I'm fined up, I'm shacked off. I'm
so mad about the loss that we took yesterday. Listen,
it wasn't enough to get embarrassed last week by Carson
Wentz and in year twenty eight.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
No, we have to get.

Speaker 9 (15:45):
Destroyed by bow Nicks and the Broncos, the faltering Broncos
that have visa this entire year. Okay, this is year
seven of the dark Taylor regime.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Why is the.

Speaker 9 (15:56):
Steamless Slopper than the double fist and chili dogs on
Diamond Dog Night?

Speaker 1 (16:01):
All right, off, Saja, you're out in it, You're out.
We were double fifteen chili dogs. I got a little
nervous when you started to lay out that image, but
I think.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
We landed the plane. Fine.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
We hit Carson Wentz with a year twenty eight insult
that played sod. That's a decent call. It actually better
than decent. You are currently our clubhouse leader. There's a
lot of frustration this morning with Zach Taylor. Zach Taylor
lost maybe the best quarterback in the NFL. And you
knew that this team was faulted. You knew that it
was money heavy. You knew, as I said last week
in this segment, there's only so much pizza to go around,

(16:32):
and about three quarters of it goes to the quarterback
and the two wide receivers. None of those players block,
none of those players tackle. I do not think Zach
Taylor should be sitting around here getting fired this morning.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
He brought the bleeping Bengals to a Super Bowl. He
has them competitive every single year except this year. I'm
not here for the Zach Zach Taylor head calls right now.
I just can't do it.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Sod. Despite that, despite that, you are King of the Hill.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
But we go now to one of my favorite states,
the state of South Dakota.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Where we go to will I think he has Chiefs
takes from South Dakota. You got thirty seconds? Will let
a rip? Hey, Hey, go ahead, A.

Speaker 10 (17:06):
Long time listener, first caller. I I just definitely am
looking forward to seeing the Chiefs offense. I'm like I
have on Sunday, and I know that the Ravens defense
was decimated with injuries. Like Jim Harbaugh said, next man up.
You know everybody's you know, you can't plan out who's
in front of you, so and let alone the defense

(17:26):
holding the number one scoring offense. So point, I'm not
including that.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Will I love you, Will I love you? You're all
hard a couple of pointers here. First of all, Sod
in Ohio is still the King of the Hill. Try
to get in as quickly as you can. You only
have thirty seconds. You don't want to burn five of
them in silence. If you can, you don't need to
say first time, long time. We know it's the first time,
it's the second time we've ever done the segment.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
You certainly don't need to say it twice.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
So that goes back to old radio, and I'm classically
trained on Jim Rome. No, first time, long time, Know
how you're doing, Know what's going on, turn down your
car radio. These are like the tenets of radio callers.
So right now I'm thrilled to tell you we're going
to the state of New York. We're gonna stay right
here to Joanne. We hear some miserable fan bases. I
want to hear one that's triumphant, Joanne, what do you

(18:10):
have to say about the Buffalo bills? Thirty seconds?

Speaker 11 (18:11):
Go okay? Last year, Week eighteen, I won the Angry
run Stan Award. So I in my James Cooke shirt on,
and I sent a picture to him with me and
you asking if you need me to get a picture
with his scepter. My kids got me a mini scepter
for Christmas, and he loved me hanging, So I'm hoping
maybe he's to help me out here.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
All right, Joanne, Joanne, I love you and I love
you calling in a couple of things on that I
wouldn't describe dming James Cook and him not responding as
leaving you hanging like this is stand outside of an
M and M concert, and he wouldn't sign the autographer
his little brother. Leaving you hanging is he blows right
by you when you see him at the grocery store.

(18:56):
James Cook a man of action, soft spoken, doesn't talk
a whole bunch. I wouldn't hold it against him, the
fact that he didn't look at your DM.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Joe Brady was talking about James Cook this week. He
was saying, we want him to play big games in December.
You're already having workload conversations with my guy Jimbo, which
is a first world problem.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
He's so good and so productive.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
You have to say, all right, this is great, but
let's make sure to save some juice for the end
of the season. The Bills are coasting at four and
oh they've not really been tested. I know early on
against the Ravens, but that Saints game was basically a scrimmage,
even though the Saints were game. We want to be
having calls from Joanne about James Cook leaving her hanging
in social media in December, and I think Joe Brady
had it right.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I'm still going with SOD from Ohio. Am I crazy?

Speaker 1 (19:39):
With due respect to Joanne complaining that James Cook doesn't
check his DMS enough. John, I love your support of
the anger, as I love your support of the segment.
Let's see if Tim can take out SOD in Ohio.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Tim in Florida, you have thirty seconds. You have a topic,
you have the floor.

Speaker 12 (19:53):
Go.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
You're a mad man.

Speaker 13 (19:57):
Kyle, You're mad man, die hard Cowboys victim Cowboys fan correction.
I want to ask you about it's so early in
the season and we got all these injuries. What's your
take on shortening the regular season and lengthening the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (20:19):
You have thirty seconds, Come go, Tim. I like what
you did there.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
It's the old radio thing where you call in and
ask a question. My take on shortening the regular season
and lengthening the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
I don't like it. This is not college football.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
We're not hungry for more playoff games. I don't want
the NFL playoffs to be less exclusive. We already have
fourteen teams in a thirty two. I don't want it
to be sixteen. I don't want it to be twenty.
I don't want it to be thirty two. This is
not March madness. This is January football. So I see
you working there. I had you at original angle. I

(20:53):
love that you turned the tables and said I had
thirty seconds.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
I know how to handle mine.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
It's a terrible idea from a Cowboys fan, and I
expect your grasping for ideas right now. You know what, Tim,
You are really cheeky and I like you are currently
on the King of the Hill. Tough luck, sad, another
loss for sod. If only Tim was named turf Tony
in Pennsylvania, also on the Cowboys thirty seconds Tony go.

Speaker 14 (21:17):
I'm really pissed about the Cowboys defense for crying out loud.
I named my dog Micah Pawsons, and Jerry traded MICHAEH
Parsons away. Moving past that, though, we need to stop
banging our heads against a brick wall each week. If
we're not going to make defensive coaching changes, which I
think would be a knee jerk reaction. At this point,
we have to make better use of our personnel. I like,

(21:40):
I feel like the guys we play is based upon
the salary Jerry's paying them, not how good they could perform.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Tony, you had a good take. You're strong.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
I feel like it was scripted, but I totally respect it.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
I don't care. I don't hold that against you.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
I'm sorry about your dog, Michah Pawson's, but it's still
kind of a vintage retro kind of dog right now.
And just if that's a good boy, it's a good boy.
You scratch his belly and give my It's not his fault,
Michah Powson's fault. That Michael Parsons is on the Packers.
And yes, of course they play. They play payers who
are expensive. Trayvon Diggs is back there, and I'm waiting
for some more plays. I'm waiting for Deron Bland at

(22:15):
some point one of these years.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
To become a superstar. We thought he was a few
years ago. Tony, should I go you over Tim?

Speaker 1 (22:22):
I think Tim still stands up there because Tim was
a real wise ass. Sorry my blue tongue here, but
we're going to do one more call until they written me.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Imani, Amani right here in New York City. Amani, you
were talking Giants. Can you beat a Cowboys fan? It's
Giants Cowboys. You'd love to see it, Amani, thirty seconds.

Speaker 15 (22:39):
Give me the best you got, The best that I
have is right now. We are on the cliff of
false pols yet again. And it all starts with leadership. Leadership,
with coaching. Yes, Brian da Ball was supposed to be
this incredible offensive mind, but think all Josh Allen got
better when they left, and he left when Joe Sheen left.

(22:59):
And honestly, I am a big concern about what we're
able to do, not just with the coach on both
sides of the ball, but with the O line. Right,
what are we doing with this O line? It's been
trashed for thirteen years? Thirteen years. Oh and on top of.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
That, if only we will know where Amani would have
gone with On top of that, and here's why this
is the perfect call.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
In New York City, the Giants just won. The Giants
just won at home. The Giants just won at home.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Over an undefeated team three and zero with really good
players and Super Bowl potential and Amani's calling and saying,
everybody's trash.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
We need to change the coaching. We need to do this. Amani,
you just won.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
That was a great win with the rookie quarterback who
signaled hope for the future and a running back who
everybody is getting behind. You becoming a local folk hero
in Jersey, and today was the day. Everything's trash. That
is New York City Radio. That unfortunately is not the
winning call. We're going back to Tim in Florida. Tim
and Florida, you won on the line. You turn the

(23:59):
tables on me. You were creative, you were kind of sarcastic,
and that is the kind of thing that Dierks and
Talk Radio, the rest of you guys, you got up shots.
I think Tim sunk it from deep guys. That's on
the line, same time next week.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
You know, last week we had.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Thirty one thousand calls called the hotline, Talk Kyle. Next week,
let's beat that Morgan Morning Football. After this, I still
have a career, we still have a show.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Thank you for being part of it.

Speaker 16 (24:24):
He's gonna float it from Accaffrey loose ball picked up
by Devin Lloyd Prety floatshit and throws an interception to
Devin Lloyd. That's a two pick game for the fourth
year man out of Utah, Devin Lloyd, the takeaway machine.
Third interception of the year for Devin Lloyd, and he
reads the eyes of Brock Purty perfectly.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
I mean, you kid, leave, Devin Lloyd can say, don't
try me, don't float that ball anywhere in my direction
because if you dare do, I'll pick you off. Two
interceptions on Sunday as the Jags took down the forty
nine ers in San Francisco. So when you do something
like that, especially with Man Titeo, our linebacker at the TI,
we have to have you on the show.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
So what's on that?

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah, absolutely, definitely great. Thanks for coming on New front
of the show. We appreciate you. That's been pretty cool
for you, history making you become the first Jaguars linebacker
to have two picks in a game. When this unfolds
for you, that ball just become a big beach ball
where you just seeing that thing come off Brock Pertty's
fingers and it just was finding your hands.

Speaker 12 (25:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (25:33):
Yeah, the opportunities presenting themselves and it was definitely clear,
you know, I just had to take advantage of the opportunity,
and you know, shout out to the guys a little
front for creating that pressure. But yeah, once the ball
was in the air, it was it was. I knew
it was gonna be minored.

Speaker 6 (25:46):
So well, because you did that and because you bought out,
you're my defensive player of the week this week. I
every week say and I highlight one person throughout all
thirty two teams who played well, and you're my guys,
So congratulations for that.

Speaker 12 (25:58):
Bro.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
You had three interceptions already in this year. You've had
four your end entire career up to that point. But
you're going to play against Patrick Mahomes. Talk about an
opportunity to How excited are you to have the chance
to maybe pick off one of the all time greats.

Speaker 17 (26:15):
Yeah, like you said, he's one of the all time greats.
And on Monday Night football, you know, everybody's excited for
this opportunity. You know, we got a lot of respect
for those guys, obviously, you know what they've been able
to do up to this point, and so we're all
excited for that challenge.

Speaker 12 (26:29):
But yeah, we're.

Speaker 17 (26:30):
Definitely going to prepare this week and ultimately we're gonna
put on a good show.

Speaker 12 (26:34):
It's gonna be a great game.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Jags win. Answering incredible. I'd love to watch that.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
I'd love to watch you guys in your takeaways. It's
not just you, Devin, it's so you guys are all
over the field. On defense, you have forced at least
three turnovers in every single game.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
We talked a lot about the interceptions.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Forcing fumbles now has become an art, a science. It's
really sophisticated. It's never been more focused on. What is
the secret to force a fumble in the NFL in
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 17 (27:02):
Yeah, it's all in your eyes. It's all I disciplining.
You gotta have your eyes on the ball. You got
to be intentional, intentional with your punch, and guys got to.

Speaker 12 (27:10):
Run to the football at the end of the day.

Speaker 17 (27:12):
Once the ball does come out, you know, you gotta
have guys around the football. But it definitely starts with
your eyes and you got to build the repetitions at practice,
constantly punching the ball. You know, during training camp, you
know the running backs and the wide receivers they get
annoyed of it, but ultimately, you know it pays off
for the team.

Speaker 7 (27:30):
Man, dev is always good to see a brother from
the dredfied Dred community. Keep the long hair flowing, man.
Let what is going on down there in Jacksonville. You
guys are three and one? Why does everybody need to
put some respect on y'all's name. Let everybody know.

Speaker 12 (27:48):
Yeah, you know, we're not worried about all that.

Speaker 17 (27:50):
Honestly, everybody's just focused on being the best version of
themselves every day. Ultimately, we know that, you know, we
got to put the work in to get the results
that we want, and that's what we're doing. One thing
I'll say about this team is that it's genuine. You know,
everybody loves each other. The coaches are hungry, the players
are hungry, and everybody is just you know, to connect

(28:11):
and everybody's playing as one. Were united and we got
a lot of talent. We got a lot of playmakers
on both sides of the ball. So it's really just
coming together and finding ways to get better every day.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Devin, doing some reading on you, just in the successes
you have had in the first couple weeks of the season,
and making sure we're well prepared for your appearance on GMFB.
Both of your parents served in the Navy, So first off,
thank them for their service. Secondly, if you read deep enough,
were you not born in Kansas City? So I'm going
to start there with the fact that you're playing the

(28:43):
chief some Monday night. Where are all the places that
you lived and did you have a team growing up
that you like to cheer for?

Speaker 12 (28:51):
Yeah? So I was born in Kansas City. I lived
there for seven years.

Speaker 17 (28:54):
I moved to Dallas with my mom when I was seven,
and then I moved to California to live with my
dad when I was twelve.

Speaker 12 (29:02):
All my mom's side of the family, they root for
the Chiefs.

Speaker 17 (29:07):
I would say who I cheered for growing up, But
let's just say I'm a Jacks fan.

Speaker 12 (29:12):
Now.

Speaker 17 (29:14):
My dad was definitely a fan of the Cowboys. Anytime
they won, it was a good day at home. So
I'll just leave that there. But you know, it's all
jakes right now. You are But yeah, that was it.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
You are a smart, thoughtful guy, dude, you really are.
And listen your new head coach, Liam Cohen. The headline
is three and one start like that is full stop.
That is incredible. That is football, that is leadership, and
we're all rooting for him. The Internet is infatuated with
a fiery exchange that your head coach had with Niners
defensive quarter Robert Sala after the win. When did you

(29:46):
guys first see and hear about this as players?

Speaker 2 (29:49):
And what did you think of it?

Speaker 12 (29:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 17 (29:53):
I heard about it in the locker room after the game. Personally,
I loved it, you know, I loved just you know
that dog mentality you know that he has and I
know some of the players so the same way. And ultimately,
you know, you can say what you want about the
whole situation, how unfolded, how people responded, but at the
end of the day, you know, we're all right behind

(30:15):
coach Cohen. He's a competitor and you know he's a
great coach. You know, he's a great offensive mind, and
you know, we're grateful for everything he's done so far
for us.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Mmm, Devin.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
We played this game on this show called What's the Word?
And the basis of that that that game is you
have to come up with one word to describe something.
Travis Hunter, he plays both sides of the ball. He's
defending passes and catching passes. What's one word for you?
As a teammate, What's one word that you would use
to describe him a dog.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Mm I like that D O G or d A
w G. You know that's a difference.

Speaker 12 (30:50):
There is a capital D a w G.

Speaker 7 (31:03):
Back in bro you posted one of the iconic phrases
for Muhammad Ali float like a butterfly's thing I could be.
Is he one of your inspirations that have so what
impact has he had on you?

Speaker 17 (31:15):
Yeah, He's absolutely an inspiration for me. You know, the
big thing with him is just his mindset. You talk
about somebody who believed in himself and prepared like it
and had the ultimate confidence and obviously went out and
you know, he believed he was the greatest. Ultimately, you
know many will say he was. I think, you know,
he's definitely one of the greatest of all time. And

(31:36):
I just take away a lot from him, his Mindsetab.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
We've loved talking with you today. Last question for you
ahead of as we mentioned, Monday night football. The Chiefs
are in town. Do your parents come to the games
and does mom dare wear like a red shirt under
the Lloyd jersey or how does that work for a
family that cheered so hard for the Chiefs growing up
and now they got one of their blood relatives playing
for the Jaguars.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
How does that go?

Speaker 17 (32:03):
Yeah, so my mom lives out here and she's all Jags.
You know, the Chiefs are behind her.

Speaker 12 (32:08):
Now.

Speaker 17 (32:09):
The other side of my family, uh, you know, they
still cheer for the Chiefs.

Speaker 12 (32:13):
So we'll just let that be what it is.

Speaker 17 (32:15):
But my dad lives in California and he makes all
the games he can. It's tough, you know, because he
has family out there as well, so he won't be
able to make this one, but he makes as many
as he can. But my mom is definitely gonna word
that thirty three jersey and or zero thirty three last year,
zero this year.

Speaker 12 (32:33):
And yeah, she's in full support of me.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
That's fantastic. Way to go, mom, as all good moms would.
She's got to follow her son into the trenches and
cheer for him rightfully. So after the start that you've had,
Devin Lloyd, everybody, thanks for coming on GMFP man, you're awesome,
God bliss you Yeah, well, stay healthy, stay well. Look
at that zero. That's an absolute menace if you're a quarterback,

(32:56):
who lu's three?

Speaker 2 (32:57):
That's how many picks he got?

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Good you got
