Speaker 2 (00:10):
Team met Beer really welcome in Tuesday, May six, Jamie
or at all, Isaiah stand back, Isaac Brochelle. We're in
La Kyle Brandt, You're in New York City. Kyle, I
know you were worried. The mechala happened last night, and
Rihanna showed up once again as she did in the
Super Bowl pregnant. Then I dressed up for Halloween once
as Rihanna, and I told everybody I was pregnant. There's

(00:30):
just everybody now, Kyle, It's not happening again. I'm not
having a fourth child. I just the history will not
repeat itself.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Okay, Hey, Jamie talked is cheap? Who knows? Maybe you
go for it.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
It's tough to get those four rings in our world.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
You know that's all to do what you're doing. But listen.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
All all we can agree on is that Sabrina Carpenter
just crushed it last night.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I met. It's incredible.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Let's have a show and fall staved.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
B good mom.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
That's right. It's GMFB.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Everybody, Isaiah, Isaac, Kyle, Jamie, all husbands at the table, all, dads,
it's Tuesday. Is everybody prepared for this weekend?

Speaker 6 (01:23):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:23):
What is happening this weekend?

Speaker 6 (01:25):
The day of mothers mother?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Good job, everybody passed the test. Kyle, you didn't answer
that question fast enough.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
I'm worried about you.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
You know how some people like to buy all their
Christmas presents on Christmas Eve? That's me on Mother's Day.
I'll get that sleigh down. We're going to be fine.
But sitting here on Tuesday, there's not a full of
first twelve plays scripted. Let's just say that.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
We'll get that up.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
You didn't buy them the day after when everything was
half off?

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Oh no, we did do that.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Why you got to put me out there like that?
Come on, now, off is half off?

Speaker 6 (01:56):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
True?

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Mother's Days this weekend, which means that this hour on GMFB,
we're actually going to play a really special game where
we are going to have a mystery mom on our
show of an NFL player. We do not know, as
the four of us on the show, who this mom is.
We do not know who the player is. We are
going to have to guess on live television, ask her questions,
find out who the players and then I think her

(02:18):
son is going to show up. We've never done this
before on GMFP.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Kyle, are you sight this is good?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I'm excited because I sat down this morning here in
New York to a sealed envelope and it says segment
six B, which is next open when mystery guests is revealed.
And I didn't cheat, I didn't try to hold it
up to the light.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
I have no idea who's coming on. So you guys
got the same thing.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yes, look at you, NFL mystery mom. Okay, we're going
to find out who this is. So that's its our
stay tuned until then. Let's talk about the news. Tom
hell Saro joining us now, he's our NFL network insider.
The Ravens released their kicker of thirteen seasons, Justin Tucker, yesterday.

Speaker 6 (02:53):
Tom.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
What went into this.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Decision, well, Jamie.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
The decision by the Ravens to release Justin Tucker coming
officially nine days after they drafted his eventual likely successor
in the sixth round of the draft, and also several
months after sixteen massage therapists raised allegations of sexual misconduct
ory massage therapy sessions during the early years of Tucker's

(03:17):
career from twenty twelve to twenty sixteen. The Ravens had
maintained for the past several months that they were going
to make a football decision with regard to Justin Tucker,
and that is what GM Eric Tacosta emphasized in a
statement yesterday that they had done the Costa described it
as being tough and incredibly difficult. He praised Tucker for
his contributions for the team and for the kicks.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
He had made in big moments. That is something, of course.

Speaker 7 (03:42):
That teams say at times in situations like this to
mitigate the possibilities of grievances or legal issues. But when
it comes to Justin Tucker and his performance, the football
aspect of this had been raised. Even last season, there
were persistent questions to John Harbaugh but whether he could
stick with the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history,

(04:03):
who was going through the worst season of his career.
Justin Tucker missed five kicks last season from inside of
fifty yards, including a couple of extra points, That was
by far.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
The most in his career. Thirty five years.

Speaker 7 (04:15):
Old, was doing a significant amount of money, and when
you draft a kicker in the sixth round, like the
Ravens did with Tyler Loop out of Arizona. By and large,
that rookie usually wins the job, so they got to
look at Loop in rookie mini camp over last weekend.
They made the decision official on Monday. Justin Tucker is
out in Baltimore after thirteen seasons. At this point, important

(04:38):
to note he has not been charged with a crime
in relation to any of the allegations that were raised
in the civil lawsuits. However, the NFL, which usually waits
up the legal process, is continuing to investigate. So if
Justin Tucker were to sign an NFL contract, there could
be further discipline still looming from the NFL.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Interesting because I was about to say anybody could just sign.
I mean, he's the most accurate kicker in NFL history.
I doubt that anyone will. Tucker has maintained his innocence.
But this is a very bizarre time and the Ravens
are turning the page. Meanwhile, the Rams. Tom, let's talk
about the Rams. This is far more positive, Matthew Stafford.
They've been waiting for this deal. Tell us what's going
on with the QB one and the LA Rams.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Kyle.

Speaker 7 (05:19):
The Rams announced almost two months ago, after trade discussions
and speculation about Matthew Stafford's future, that they had agreed
to terms with Matthew Stafford. That deal was not fully
done and finalized until the past couple of days. Here,
Matthew Stafford now is going to be doing forty four
million dollars in twenty twenty five, bumping that number back

(05:40):
up because a year ago, when they'd address Stafford's contract,
they move money up from a future year. So we'll
make forty four million dollars this season, including four million
they had already paid in the roster bonus back in March.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
The trigger in this deal.

Speaker 7 (05:53):
Is next season, when Stafford has done forty million dollars.
That money would become guaranteed if Stafford is still on
the Rams roster at the start of the.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
League year in mid March.

Speaker 7 (06:03):
So to me, if you've heard this one before, we
are going to get the next March. And depending on
where Matthew Stafford is at May, where the Rams are at,
there are going to be decisions that they have to make.
Do they decide to keep Matthew Stafford on the roster
and go into another season with him in twenty twenty six,
or potentially could they release him. Very much a year
to year basis for Matthew Stafford at this point, the

(06:25):
full focus, as Sean McVay has said recently, is on
getting the most out of Matthew Stafford right now on
a RAMS team that has gotten really young and really
talented in a short period of time.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Absolutely well, if anybody can do it, it's Sean McVay
and the Rams. But really, listening to McVeigh talk about
how the two of them have navigated the situation is
really impressive and incredible. Tom Pella sera, thank you so much.
Let's go three and out, all right, A couple of
tomics to rifle through here.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
First down.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Buffalo signed free agent wide receiver Elijah Moore to a
one year contract on Monday. He says the decision wasn't
too hard with the prospect of teaming up with an
NFL MVP, Josh Allen.

Speaker 8 (07:01):
It was just an easy kind of like, you know,
an easy decision to make once it was all thought
thought out.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Was he six five six.

Speaker 8 (07:10):
Six two thirty two forty I mean, MVP of the league.
I've been playing against him. It's just it's just not
hard to you know, to to love what you see.
You know, playoffs every single year, you know, pretty much
one game away from a super Bowl every single year,
you know, and if I could be a part of
something special like that, why not run towards it? You know,

(07:32):
I'm not running for nothing.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
It's high praise from an NFL wide receiver currently, and
I'm sure he's thrilled to play with Josh Allen. Yesterday
on the show, we ranked top three NFC quarterbacks. But
let's look at the NFL as a whole, Isaiah, is
it time to consider Josh Allen the best quarterback.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
In the league right now?

Speaker 6 (07:49):
He's in the conversation. He's definitely in the conversation. No,
I mean yeah, I mean I can't put him as
the number one quarterback right now. I still think that
Patrick Mahomes has that title, even though he'd had a
rough season last year. But he's his body of work
speaks for itself, right This dude's three time NB, three
time I'm Super Bowl champions. So but Josh Allen is
working his way up. And you know, I apologize to
all the Bills nation yesterday I feel like he should

(08:11):
have made my top five in terms of dual threat
quarterbacks because he is that dangerous. But I mean he's
going to get there. He's going to be in that conversation.
But he has a lot of competition. He has a
Patrick Mahomes, he has the Lamar Jackson's work, he has
a Joe Burrow that balled out last year and what
could have easily been the MVP last year had it
not been for his team's record. So I mean, he's
going to be in that conversation, but I can't give
him the crown right now.

Speaker 9 (08:31):
This is interesting because it's like, look, if somebody randomly
handed me Josh Allen as my quarterback for my team,
of course I'm hype. I'm super confident I have the
opportunity to go to a championship. But I agree with you, Isaiah,
it's so hard not to look at the quarterbacks right
now and just go, okay, give me Patrick Mahomes. I
mean I look at it and I go, okay, what
makes it go? I think it's winning championships and Patrick

(08:53):
Mahomes has proved that, and Elijah Moore even said it.
He's like, why would I Why would I not want
to go play for a guy that was one game
away every year. I mean, you have to do something
with that comment, and that's why you know Patrick Mahomes
is my guy.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
It's such a fair answer, and I would just respond that, like,
it's okay to not say Patrick Mahomes. If we're talking
about this era, then of course it's Mahomes. But if
we're talking about twenty twenty five, it's okay to not
say Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
And I think it is Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I think what he has is he's not as talented
as a runner as Lamar Jackson, but he's an incredible runner.
Maybe he's not as prolific as the passer as Joe Burrow,
but the combination of the two is astronomical, astronomical. And
I will judge Josh Allen based on how he plays
in playoff games, which is not only very good, it's
almost always excellent excellent. He plays really good in big games,

(09:48):
even the ones that they lose. So listen, we're gonna
talk about this for decades in this era, and then
there's gonna be Lamar loyalists and Burrow and Mahomes, of course,
because he's got the rings. But we're not saying who
is the greatest quarterback of this era.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
That's Mahomes.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Who is the best at PLA in the position right
now in twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Five in the league. I think it's Joshawn and I think.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
All the numbers, all the stats, all the optics back
it up. And I don't apologize for it, neither should
anyone else.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
It's a really fun gray area to swim in because
then you've got to get into the next generation of
quarterback conversation. And of course Jaden Daniels right now is
leader of.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
The pack in that time.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
For second down, we're looking at Washington because our friends
at NFL Films just released this really cool Terry McLaurin
micd up moment from Washington's stunning divisional round win over
Detroit in the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
Take a look.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Snapta Daniels could throw to the opposite side.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
Terry McClure got through two defenders.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Fifty thirty block, forty thirty clock, thirty click ras A
Detroit fifty get cock ta a big tuck down looking
down detail loves.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Dollar plus zero plist and they it buck the key.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Terry, We'll.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Be passed.

Speaker 10 (10:56):
Boy, Hey, I'm scared.

Speaker 7 (11:07):
There's not a better number one in the league than
Terry McLaurin as the person.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
He's a better person than he is a player, which
is insane.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Well, leader in the pack, are the most likable guys,
and he can put on the jets and absolutely burn you.
That is Terry McLaurin, who I'm sure is even happier
than he Wasn't that Cliff, because now he's going to
have some help in twenty twenty five since Washington treated
for Deebo Samuel.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
It's fill in the blank for this statement.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Deebo Samuel with the commanders will be Isaiah, Well, you
want to.

Speaker 6 (11:38):
You want to you want to read this real quick?

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Let me right here.

Speaker 6 (11:41):
It says from from scary Terry himself also just texted him.
He said, honest, yeah, he's honestly think that Deebo and
I bring a competitive edge to the football field and
infectious energy when we're making plays. There's a toughness that
we bring to the wide receiver position, dog eat dog mentality.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
I love eavesdropping and looking over at someone's phone and
reading their text. And that really is from Terry McLaurin.
Everybody is confirmed.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
Yeah, I have nothing to say outside from the fact that, yeah,
those two together are going to bring a physicality to
the receiver position. When you talk about players embodying the
spirit of their head coach, we've seen what that was
in Detroit. We saw a glimpse of what that was
last year in Washington. You're gonna get a bigger dose
of that in Washington this year because you're gonna have

(12:25):
Scary Terry on one side Deebo Samuel on the other.
Both of those guys are big time play receivers. Both
of those guys are physical. Not only they're after the
after you know yards have to catch, but their ability
to get in there and put their nose in there
to get these safeties dugout on the running game, They're
gonna bring that physicality. They're gonna have a toughness. They're
gonna go downhill and be a problem for anybody that
wants to be in the secondary.

Speaker 9 (12:44):
Scary Terry what a name. By the way, here's my thing.
I think this is simple. Deebo Samuel will be the
tipping point. I think you're bringing up great points. I
think when you have the combination of these two phenomenal receivers,
this is a no brainer and I also, I'm gonna
be the guy who always brings up the stats that
you can't quantify, and right now, that is the energy
that he brings. When I watched A forty nine or
over the past few years, I'm seeing the boombox coming

(13:06):
out of locker room. I'm seeing energy. You've combined that
with the conversations we just heard about Scary Terry and
who that guy is. I think this is going to
be a dangerous combination. I'm excited to see it.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
All right, I'm excited, but I'm a little nervous too.
I like hearing that Scary Terry says they're going to
have the doggy dog mentality is as long as for
Debo that dog is eating isn't.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
A hot dog?

Speaker 6 (13:31):
All right?

Speaker 1 (13:32):
We got to talk about the elephant in the room here,
and I don't mean that as a play on words.
You search Debo online. The conversation about him is you
see words, guy, you know this. You see words like washed,
you see words like out of shape, you see words
like fat. You see pictures and like, I'm not even
saying them myself. I think he's been in the league
long enough, made enough plays to have the benefit of

(13:53):
the doubt, but the play did fall off. There are
some alarming optics. I trust jayde Daniels, I trust Cliff Kingsbury.
Is Deebo ready to be elect and spry and spelt
and fast and like this is going to be a
wake up call for him that the Niners said, I
think we're kind of done with you.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
We'll see. I don't think this is a slam.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Dunk is a famous player joining an exciting up and
coming team.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
So we just feed on and say it's gonna be great.
It's going to be great.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I think Deebo has some things to prove, guys, and
I think we've all seen it all right.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Kyle was incredibly well done, and thank you for always
representing the part of the conversation that remains on set
up until that point.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Everyone can't be great, Jamie. Not every team is going
to be seventeen and oh you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
My god, no, And you can't sting in shape all
year round. Three sixty five is toff all right, but
as long as when Week one comes, can't. The NFL
announced yesterday that they're twenty twenty seven NFL Draft, presented
by Bud.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
Light, will be in Washington d C.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
It's going to take place across the district's most iconic landmarks,
including the National Mall Pennsylvania Avenue, placing the Capitol at
the center of America's most celebrated sport. Before I asked
a question, Kyle, real quick, what was that the perfect
hug that you wanted to see between the commissioner and
what was that set up? You had it on social media.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yesterday, Jamie, I'll have it shortly in this segment if
you want to.

Speaker 11 (15:15):
Wait about seconds so you.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Have You're right here with me live, Jamie. You don't
have to follow me on Twitter. We work together. So
what do you guys think?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Who do you want to make a special guest appear
a special guest star appearance at the twenty twenty seven
NFL draft.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
Isaiah, you go first, anxiety rum Kyle's answer.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
All right, So I waited back to college and got
my NBA, my executive NBA from George Washington University. And
the person I'm going to say is my classmate who
just happens to be Olympic gold medalist and she is
the minority owner of the Atlanta Falcons. Dominique Dawes. I
want to see dominiqu Dawes out there. I would present

(15:52):
some present one of the draft. She's an absolute beast.
She's obviously a great human being. She's one of the
partial owners of Atlanta Falcons, so she's doing amazing things. Quiet, quiet,
but she takes care of her business, and I would
love to see her on the stage. Listen.

Speaker 9 (16:05):
Draft days are stressful for fans players. Everybody's just stressed
out and the kind of excited sometimes. So I want
a little comedic relief. I want some Dave Chappelle. This
is a guy who is a native gimme Dave Chappelle,
give me like a thirty second set. By the way,
before you announce the pick. I'm all in on Dave Chappelle.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Well, as we know, Chappelle once did the Racial Draft
on his show, which is a highly different sketch than
the actual draft, but an infamous one. Nonetheless, this is
what Jamie was referring to. So one of the trappings
of the draft, of course, is the hugs.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
And Roger Goodell hugs the players.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
I'm in the conversation for most famous hug in movie history.
Shaw Shanks there for sure, but Forrest and Jenny in
the pond, in the pool in front of the Washington Monument,
running down there like that's how Goodell needs to do it.
Commissioner run into the water with whoever the number one
overall pick is Hug and everyone would go crazy. And
after you announce the name, you say, that's all I

(17:01):
have to say about that.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
And they'll go crazy again.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Get Tom Banks there, Get Robin right there to announce
a pick.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
They can re enact it. That's what I'm looking for.
It's right there.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
It's perfect.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
If I see Roger Goodel come out from behind the
thing running like force to go be a hood, I
will lose it.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Apparently like the comps that we've seen are like the
setup is going to be the draft stage with like
all these monuments are and it's crazy. So, Kyle, I
have been jealous of you for quite some time, and
it's because a couple of years back, my first year
on the show, I believe you got to do a
Buffalo Bill's draft pick. You got you walked across the stage.
It was the chicken wing, it was the zoob as
the whole thing. Then we're in Green Bay a couple
weeks ago and we have Seth freaking Rollins on and

(17:41):
we're like actively prepping him for his draft pick. And
then I got to watch him do it on the
stage Friday night for the second round.

Speaker 5 (17:48):
I went to college in DC.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I am an American University alum, and as everybody knows,
I am a Vikings fan born in Breda, Minnesota. This
is my public play that maybe I'll take a seventh round,
but like, could I I want to make a pick
in the twenty twenty seven NFL Draft. I can I
pick a Vikings player?

Speaker 5 (18:03):
What to do that? Like, it's all coming together, It's
the draft. It's in two years, okay, and I don't know.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
I could have fallen off a cliff totally in terms
of prominence in the NFL too.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
I'll take a seventh rounder. I don't care. I'll do anything,
and it could be for any team. It would be
cool if it was a Viking.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
So there is my public and onabashedly shameful plea to make.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
That be incredible. Thank you, unabashedly shameful. Jamie, who's foothold
on Her attachment to d C was that she went
to American University, which she hated and has talked about
on the air a million times. While we're on the air,
if anyone just wants to send me some money, I'll
give you my VENMO. Just send me cash right now,
I just send me. I'll for no reason send me money.

(18:44):
Unbelievable to start.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
I could start to like my college experience if that
was a part, I.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
Could just just group that in with it. Okay, like
it could.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Maybe that could reframe my college experience in DC.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
It wasn't America.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
You got to wait for that Minneapolis draft.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
My friend when they go to when they go to Minnesota,
that's you friends.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
No, you're right, I can't wait that long. I'm impatient.
Welcome back to DMFB.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Sunday is Mother's Day everybody, So anyone who is a
mom who's about to come to a mom who feels motherly,
Happy Mother's Day. This week on GMFP, we are celebrating
the moms who have raised some of our favorite players
that are currently in the NFL. Right now, we're in
a play game. It's called NFL Mystery Mom. And here's
how this thing is gonna work. We know that in

(19:29):
order to get your son into the NFL, it takes
an incredible amount of sacrifice and love and dedication, and
moms are the best. So we have a mom currently
waiting in the wings right now, and we don't know
who this mom is or who her son is. For example,
we are going to pop this mom up and then
we have to ask her unscripted yes or no questions

(19:49):
and she has to respond, and after the four of
us answer, ask one round, we have an opportunity to guess.
If we get it wrong or we don't know, we're
going to go around again, and we will go until
we guess who this player is. We're going to talk
to mom, and then I believe we also have her
son waiting in the wings as well, So we're gonna
get to your mom a little bit.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
And this is it.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
This is the best game we've ever had on GUMFP
NFL Mystery Moms.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Let us begin.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
We're gonna we're gonna bring the mom up.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
So Mom, nice to meet you.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Hello, don't say Jamie, Isaac, Isaiah and Kyle And let's
rock and roll.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Shall we? Mom? Okay, Okay, let's go.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Okay, Mom, does your son play in the NFC North.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Yes? Oh wow, Jamie?

Speaker 5 (20:41):
All right, Okay, Isaiah.

Speaker 6 (20:44):
Mom, is your son on offense? Yes?

Speaker 9 (20:51):
Okay, okay, Mom, Isaac, do people say that your son
looks like you?

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Yes? Okay, okay, so on offense looks like you? All right?
Is this is this that? Mom? Is this is your
son an offensive lineman?

Speaker 1 (21:10):
No? Okay, all right, skill position guys, here we have.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Skill position anyway.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
I just want to have a first round clarification because
my mic is rubbing against my ethereal turtle neck. Here
NFC North or a FC North, Mom, North?

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Okay, because I think?

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Okay, okay, okay, So a skill position offensive player for
the Browns, Bengals, Ravens or Steelers.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
Oh my gosh, does anybody have a guess at this point?
This is where we stop down. I'm so nervous.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Now we need more questions.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Okay, okay, okay, okay, Mom?

Speaker 2 (21:50):
Is your son on his rookie contract?

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yes? Okay, okay?

Speaker 6 (21:59):
Mom? Is your feel so bad saying that is your
son a pro bowler?

Speaker 3 (22:08):
No? Not yet, baby, not yet? Mom?

Speaker 9 (22:15):
Did your son play in the SEC in college?

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Yes? All right, mom? Is your son a rookie? Yes?
Oh that's big? All right, that's big, guys. All right,
here we go. I always have to let me recap.
We have a rookie.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Skill position offensive player in the AFC North. So it's
a rookie on the Ravens, Browns, Bengals, or Steelers, not
an offensive lineman. Someone will be throwing, catching or running
with the ball. We should be able to get this
this route, go, Jamie.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Mom, Is your son a running back?

Speaker 6 (23:00):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Oh my gosh, okay, okay, here we go, Here we go?

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Running back? No AFC North. That's you don't get to
guess until you.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Guys, Mom.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
Was your son drafted in the top three rounds?

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Yes? All right? Mom?

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Did your son this past college football season play in
the college football playoffs?

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Go ahead, Kyle, you know I do. But I have
more confidence in you, especially if it's a running back.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
All right, this is my favorite position. It's I can
think of two different guys, and I'm going to take
a shot. Are you guys comfortable with me taking a shot. Yes?

Speaker 3 (23:51):
This is going to be so embarrassed.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Mom if I if I name a player right now
and it's not your son? Is your son's name? As
we celebrate Mother's Day week here and good morning football?
Is your son's name? Quin Shawn Judkins.

Speaker 12 (24:07):
Yes, job, Jamie, do it look at to You're awesome
to have you on.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
Kyle, well done right here. Okay, Quench, will you introduce.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Your mother to us because she just was such a
good sport.

Speaker 13 (24:32):
Oh man, this is my beautiful mom, Tva. She's been
every every step of the way with me my whole journey.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
So thankful for it.

Speaker 5 (24:41):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
And now we get to open up our NFL Mystery
Mom envelope and we get to look at all of
the information about Tiva and quin Shawn and this is
an incredible game.

Speaker 5 (24:50):
We're obsessed, Tiva. Okay, we saw that you you pick.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Up the FaceTime when your son called when he got
drafted in your face. Now that we see you, what
is wrong with us? It was priceless? What was that movement?

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Like?

Speaker 10 (25:04):
Just like you just said, it was priceless and it
wasn't intentional.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
So let me put that out there.

Speaker 10 (25:10):
And that was the second time that the phone had
rang and we were all quin Shawn said, you know,
I need to take go get something to drink because
his mouth was kind of dry. We're at the top
of the rounds, everything's rolling and he's like, let me
run get something to drink, and he leaves his phone
and the people behind me basically say, I think his.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Phone just rang, and I'm like, no, it didn't.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
It couldn't have rang. It surely didn't ring.

Speaker 10 (25:34):
So I pick it up, and as I'm picking it up,
it rings again. And so at that moment, it was
you can't even explain it. It was surreal. And on the
other end of the phone was this young lady and
she was staring at me with her mouth wide but
and I was staring at her because neither one of
us knew.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
What to do.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Dam But you tell the story so well, and thank
you so much for putting up with our game and everything.
You were so patient, you were locked in and we
got home, quin Shawn. I want to ask you, though,
quin Shawn, take me back to Pike Road, Alabama, growing
up with this woman.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
What did she teach you?

Speaker 1 (26:09):
What were the lessons she imparted on you that you
still used to this day.

Speaker 13 (26:14):
Oh man, I can remember I said to an early
age her just teaching me resilience, responsibility, accountability, knowing right
from wrongs, and just how to make decisions at an
early age. And you know, help myself put myself in
a better position for my future.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
That's awesome, all right. I have a question for miss Tiva.
In less than twenty four hours, you and your son
where you know, from being drafted to being surrounded by
family and all of a sudden, you guys were at
the Browns facility the following day. Now, help us understand,
look like the people behind the veil as to what
that was like.

Speaker 10 (26:52):
That was a moment that I can't even really put
into words. I mean, after he was drafted, everyone was
so excited and so thankful, and we were feeling so
blessed and just so you know, appreciative of the gift
that he was just given. And we got a call
from the grounds basically saying you need to hop on
a plane, like at nine o'clock in the morning and

(27:14):
be here. And so that was a quick turnaround for
us because that night we were just partying the night away,
you know, and so we had to get up and
jump on a plane. And once we arrived to the facility,
everyone was so nice. They were so grateful that he
was there and so appreciative of us, and it just
made us feel very welcomed and very you know, humbled

(27:37):
by the situation. But it was just a great feeling
the facility. When you drive them to the facility and
you get to see the name of the team on
the building, that's what that's when it all stay in
for me.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
It was like, oh my god, we are here.

Speaker 9 (27:51):
So yeah, and there's some about seeing those NFL logos
when you pull up to the buildings. It it really
does hit different. So that's awesome. Also, quinch On, you
have one job. Take your mom to the Marble Room
in Cleveland. It's a steakhouse. Actually, I'm believable stake. It's
a great, great place to go. But you have rookie
Minni Camp coming up. It's crazy how fast it happens.
How are we feeling about that?

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Man?

Speaker 4 (28:13):
Amazing excited.

Speaker 13 (28:15):
I'm thrilled to be in this position and go and
help this organization and do my best job and what
I bring as a player, and I just come in
ready to work.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
I love it.

Speaker 6 (28:27):
I love it. I'm excited for you.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
You know what's cool is that you know you have this,
you realize your dream and you're going to Cleveland and
you're going to be doing some incredible things in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
And then Quen Shan you know how this worked.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Everybody across the draft is talking about your new teammate,
Sador Sanders gets drafted days later. What was your take
on how that went down and what are your expectations
for playing with them?

Speaker 6 (28:48):
Man?

Speaker 13 (28:48):
I think as far as all the quarterbacks that we
drafted this year, I'm excited for each and every one
of those guys. They're talented, they're smart, and I look
forward to playing with each every one of them, and
I know.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
They do with you as well.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
All Right, this has been really, really fun. We've been
on the show for a decade. In there for a decade.
We've never done this, but when Shawn Mother's Day Sunday,
while the rest of us send cards and phone calls
and things like that, we want to just give you
the opportunity, on live television across several different countries to
tell your mom how you feel about her and anything
you'd like to say.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
Love.

Speaker 13 (29:22):
I had to tell my mom how I feel about it,
I would just say I'm just so thankful for her
give me up to this point. Without her, I wouldn't
be where I am today. Everything she taught me at
an early age has helped me be successful and become
the man that I wanted to be. And you know,
when I started a family one day, everything that she

(29:43):
instilled in me, it'll be things that I remember and
I'll just I'll just be able to not take a
guess about and know how to make the right decisions
in life, continue to be successful. So just thankful. I
love her so much and definitely owe her one because
draft nighte she saved me.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
So thank you, Tiva.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
We love both of you, guys.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
Quinch On, we do love you.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Happy Mother's Day, Tiva, thank you you are our rookie,
mystery mom, and.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
You did great Rookie of the year.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Yes, Happy Mother's Day. Quick Jean, wonderful to meet you.
Have you on and we're gonna have both you back
on GMFB.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
All right, celebrate this weekend, and.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
All right, I am coming to you live from New
York City with a new friend of mine. If you
don't know if the met Galla was last night, which
is like prom of pop culture, like prom for humanity.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
It's everyone in the fashion doing the thing.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
It's an amazing deal and we have a really fun
opportunity here for the first time ever, the NFL's first
fashion editor.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
My new friend, Kyle Smith. Welcome to Good Morning Football. Kyle.
How you doing.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Are you thrilled to meet you, thrilled the talk to you.

Speaker 6 (31:05):
You look great.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
We were talking about the rings. They look like something
from Doune I really dig.

Speaker 11 (31:09):
I love these. I just got these in Tokyo. I
went in March with some players from the Cleveland Browns.
Oh really, we had the best time.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
Who'd you go with?

Speaker 4 (31:16):
Opah Ocuronquo, Grant del Pitt.

Speaker 11 (31:19):
Hey, first, I just got this one because they were like,
don't get other ones.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
I was like, I need all of these. I need
all of these.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
He's got more rings than Tom Brady already, and we're
starting the segment with this. The NFL having an official
fashion editor is brand new, Like so many fun things
with the league.

Speaker 6 (31:35):
How did this start?

Speaker 4 (31:36):
I invented the job?

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Really, yeah.

Speaker 11 (31:38):
I used sibious stylists for the network, but I was like,
there's so much more fashion that we can do. Players
are wearing really cool things. You know, we have so
many cool consumer products collaborations, so I was like, we
have to talk about this.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Yes, that's why I got here.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Well, Kyle, since you left beating a stylist for the network,
now Kyle brand just for his T shirts every day.
So could you moonlight back with the network when you
have a second or two?

Speaker 11 (32:05):
If I ever have free time, I will come back
just for Kyle.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
Okay, perfect.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
I feel like they pulled someone off the street and
it's a before and after, and I'm the before right now.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
You got to go me up. I'm happady to do it.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
You look amazing. You're doing great, sweetie.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
Thanks all right, asked this man of question.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
I will so, Kyle.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
It feels like every year the list of NFL players
that show up at the Mecala grows, and it's the
biggest stars. They're coming off of winning a Super Bowl,
they show up on the carpet for the Mechala. My
intense stress comes from hearing about the theme of the
Mechala and interpreting it. How do players like Joe Burrow,
Justin Jefferson, Saquon Barkley, how do they understand and embrace

(32:42):
the theme to make sure they are on point?

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Well?

Speaker 11 (32:46):
The theme every year is usually based off of the text.
So this year's theme was based off a book by
Monica Miller called Slaves the Fashion And so if you
read the book, you can find so many points of
inspiration about what to dress or how to dress and
what you can really pull on if there's people that
you might be inspired by that I mentioned the book,
So I make sure all of our players understand the text,

(33:08):
know the points, what they can talk about in interviews,
and what they can draw inspiration from.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Wow, sophisticated.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Yeah, it's very cool.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
That is very cool, Kyle. And the thing is, we
know these guys are not going and just grabbing anything
off the rack, So help us understand what all goes
into these guys getting ready for the met and how
far in advance are these outfits being planned.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
Yeah, you know, it's it's months of fittings.

Speaker 11 (33:33):
Sometimes it's a couple of weeks of fittings, working with
their stylists, working with designers. Designers have to invite you
to the met, so usually work with the designer and
they'll work with your stylists, and you know, just really
making sure you understand the theme and is your outfit
on theme? What do you want to wear? It's traditionally
the most uncomfortable red carpet. You can't bring a guest,

(33:55):
you can't bring your wife, your partner, whoever.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
So You're out there wearing.

Speaker 11 (34:00):
This outfit that the designers worked on for you, so
they really want to make sure you're comfortable, that you
are feeling your best.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
It's just wild to me.

Speaker 9 (34:09):
There's such a learning curve for this, Like I had
no clue there was a theme based.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Off of a book.

Speaker 9 (34:13):
Kyle, I'm glad you're teaching us, because this is fascinating
to me. Give me some other people that you feel
like just crushed it on the red carpet and did
they look good and they felt good?

Speaker 11 (34:22):
Give us your tops, well some of my favorite Are
you talking athletes or non athletes?

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Herever you want? I think we showed the athletes.

Speaker 11 (34:30):
Yeah, so, I mean, actually I loved Minthy Kaling's look
from last night.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
I thought that was so cool.

Speaker 11 (34:35):
I loved Sabrina Carpenter, of course, Tianna Taylor, oh my god.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
Like the Mark.

Speaker 11 (34:41):
Jacobs of it all and the boots and the cape.
It was so Andre leon Tale, who was such a
big inspiration for so many people last night. He is
the deceased Vogue editor that really inspired this year's team.
So so many people brought it. But of course, so
many of our athletes looked amazing I.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Want to know. I want to know what Kyle Smith
was wearing. Never mind that, what do you got going?

Speaker 6 (35:05):
Well?

Speaker 11 (35:05):
I was probably well, I was wearing Yojiamamoto. Okay, they
sent it from Tokyo, and I was like, this is perfect.
Yoji is such a classic tailor when it comes to
like playing with tailoring. What does classic tailoring mean? So
that's I wor Yoji.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
But do you feel you nailed it?

Speaker 4 (35:22):
I think so so.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
So I can just tell I didn't even see out there,
but I trust you I did see Joe Burrow.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
And so Joe Burr is a fascinating thing because way
into fashion obviously, and you two are very, very connected
with that.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
How does this guy from.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
Ohio, not like Milan, Ohio, how does he get into
fashion like that?

Speaker 3 (35:38):
It's cool?

Speaker 11 (35:39):
Well, you know, actually his mom design studied fashion merchandising,
so I think it gets a lot of it from
his mom. But he is just so open to trying
new things. We worked together really well. Actually didn't do
his look last night. He worked with Cardier on his look,
but usually for tunnel fits when we go to fashion
Week in June, I work with him for those looks,

(36:00):
and he's so open to trying new things like a
backless suit.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
You know, he's he's so open.

Speaker 11 (36:06):
To trying things, and that's why I love working with
him when it comes to his tunnel fits. You know,
I go to Cincinnati every couple of weeks, bring new clothes.
We try on things and have the best time just
playing with that.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
Are there things that you suggested to Joe that he's like,
I can't go that far.

Speaker 11 (36:21):
There are a few things. There are a few things.
And also I think this happens with a lot of athletes.
It's like are you winning, are you losing? It really
kind of then dictates what you're wearing. Oh yeah, you
know one time I brought over a fur coat and
he was like, not right now, not right? If I
don't even know the wheel coat on a lose right
maybe next week. You know, So that definitely goes into it,

(36:43):
because you know, if you look good, you feel good.
It's all your outfits, your emotions.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
You know.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
See, this guy goes deep layers. I love the layers.
Let's go some more layers deep. So the NFL has
obviously been having a big push in terms of international games,
right the reaches going far and beyond the United States,
which is absolutely awesome. But you had opportunity to work
with Justin Jefferson and Burrow in Paris Fashion Week last year.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
You actually styled them.

Speaker 6 (37:08):
What has been the response in the fashion world in
response to players like Justin Jefferson and Joe Burrow.

Speaker 11 (37:15):
Well, I think the fashion world is understanding, like football
is so impactful. Football brings, you know, for fashion, so
many new audiences for them. You know, we're going to
ther Mez Show, We're going to the Amrry Show, and
we're having the best time, and it then brings in
their audience and their fans. Like fashion really is realizing
that American football is such a great way to tap

(37:36):
into a new market, especially when you're a European brand
trying to come to America and US as like American
football player is trying to go to Europe. Yeah, the
synergy is just perfect.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
He created this job. He's nailing this job.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
You're not only obviously talented what you do, very confident
on television too, Kyle.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
This is really great to meet you. I'm serious, good stop.

Speaker 4 (37:56):
It's a very great job, very new to me.

Speaker 11 (37:58):
I hosted the Super Bowl Red Carpet on two B
with Olivia Colpo and that was my first time on
television and we had the best time.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
Well, this will not be the last time. Guys. This
is our new friend Kyle.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
We always need more confident, cool Kyle's than television.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
I'm coming over. This is our friend.

Speaker 6 (38:16):
Right there.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
The name doesn't mean handsome, you can google it. That's
my guy, Kyle Smith. Come join us again some time.
I would love to.

Speaker 4 (38:23):
I'd love to come back.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
Kyle.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Say goodbye, so you see you late.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
I see you later.
