And Kyle Grant of course you too.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Do you know what it's like to have on an
Eagles Kelly Green jersey and have by far the second
coolest jersey in the show. It's unbelievable. What are the
odds of that? Will Blackman? If that jersey was a wine,
what wine would it be?
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Oh, it would be.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
The legendary Caberney Salvion the Goat, the goat wine all
day long.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Barry Sanders, He's why, he is why I started playing football.

what a season, What a team, the greatest Eagles team
in modern history.

need to be louder. So I will be and I
don't miss it. New York, don't worry, all right, So.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
You need a salvation army belt too. I feel like
that's going to be Like, that's going.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
To be good too. Just make more noise, Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
So shall we do a little three and out.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
We could talk about Chip Roger.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Tacos, but I feel like we should do this too.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
First down.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
On Monday, the Eagles announced head coach Nick Sirianni, fresh
off leading the franchise to its second Super Bowl win,
has agreed to terms on a multi year contract extension.
Team owner Jeffrey Lourie said in a statement, Nick Cousin
bodied everything we were looking for in a head coach
since we hired him four years ago. I'm excited for
what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
So where would you rank.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Nick Sirianni among NFL head coaches? This is an interesting one, Kyle.
Can you start us off?
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Because since you're wearing Kelly Green anyway?
Speaker 8 (02:56):
Thankes?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Right right?
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, And I'm gonna say this. I'm going to say this.
We're in the Jersey. I would put him in the
top ten, all right, because all things considered, to go
for you really want to make a bargament out of this.
You have all thirty two head coaches, and if they
were to take the same roster and the same team
and everything, who would do the best with them? I
think that Nick siriann has an incredible team, an incredible roster.
(03:17):
And that's not a slight at him. He's been through
some incredible stuff. Two Super Bowls. He was there for
the crazy collapse in twenty twenty three, which is not great,
but he was also there for the complete rebuild and
won the entire thing last year. I always say I
still sat Sean McVay coach to coach, is the best
coach in the NFL right now. But I think that
Nick Sirianni is the best coach for the Eagles. I
(03:38):
think he is a fit for them, the climate, the fans,
the players. I think he is a top ten coach
in the league right now. And I don't think that's
an insult. There's some fantastic coaches. Top ten is pretty awesome.
Speaker 8 (03:49):
Man.
Speaker 9 (03:49):
I agree with Kyle, but only because you're only as
good as your last performance.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Man.
Speaker 9 (03:53):
You know, he just got off a Super Bowl win.
His team played phenomenal. You know, everybody thought the Kansas
City chief were going to win that game, and you
know his team comes out in you know, put put
the spanking on the Tief. So uh, you know, I
think you have to put him at the top just
because of that reason. Then, like I said earlier, you
only as good as your last performance, and he and
(04:14):
he won the big Game, So you know, I think
he has he deserves to be at the top.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
I feel like, Brock, you didn't you didn't say what
you really wanted to say. For a second, he was
like he beat up they put a spanking off. But
I'm gonna say I'm gonna say just based off of
like you said, only good as your last, based on overall,
I'm gonna say number two for Sirianni. Obviously Andy Reid
number one, eleven conference Championshi appearances, three super Bowls, but
(04:41):
number two for this team. Like all the personalities you know,
like you mentioned Kyle, all the changes, the coordinator changes
to reload every year, this team has continually to improve
every single year. You get Saquon and he just goes
lights out, doesn't miss it, beat Uh, improving for Hurts,
you know, his injuries, and then also his staff. So
I think for him, he is the perfect person for
(05:03):
this team and.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
He's maximizing it.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
We can say Howrie Roseman's getting on these players, but
he's not messing it up. He is making the investment worthwhile.
So he's number two. And I'm a huge Seoul McVay fan,
you know he is. I think Pounerful Pound is overall
the best coach, But based on the rankings right now,
I'm gonna say Sirianni.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Sirianni, He's emotional, he's passionate.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
He's sassy, he's spicy, he's petty, which I love all
of these things.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, he might not be for everyone, but his record
is the most important thing.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
And I do kind of feel like he's.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Going to be one of these coaches, at least for
Philadelphia fans, where you go through the era with him
there and then it's not until you look back and
realize how great those years were and just what a
wonderful head coach he was, because you're kind of like
living by the moments and everything else. But obviously with
the Super Bowl win, I think people should be very
happy with him in general.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Let's go to our second down.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Cardinals second year wide out Marvin Harrison Junior wait two
hundred nine pounds last season and doesn't officially get weighed
again until mandatory mini camp next month. When he met
the media yesterday, he declined to say a specific current
number he's at right now, only that he put on
some good pounds.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I definitely put on some pounds.
Speaker 10 (06:23):
I think I added some muscle to my body a
little bit instead of just trying to see my body,
you know, it feels throughout OTAs, insout training camp, more
so throughout OTAs and then kind of get a specific
weight to settle in for training camp and go from there.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Oh wait, talk season, it's coming up. That's all about
training camp.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Love, But can't wait, So I need.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
You guys to finish the following statement here will You're
gonna go first? The twenty twenty five Cardinals will.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
Be They will be the dark horse in the NFC.
And I go this solely based on the health.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
And availability of Kyler Murray.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
He is I think, after Lamar Jackson, after Josh Allen,
he might be the scariest quarterback to face. He's back
to now obviously does a great job throwing the fall,
but he's running the football again effectively. Ever since I
think the second year where he ran for I think
almost you know, eight hundred yards. He's now had his
second most in terms of running the football. And I
just based on what he does and run the football
(07:19):
o connors and then get into the football to his receivers.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
And the defense is playing very very well.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
I mean, they were a sneaky eight and nine last year,
so I feel like this could be a dark horse
in the NFC and definitely contending for the NFC West.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
So that's what I have for the Cardinals.
Speaker 9 (07:34):
The twenty twenty five Cardinals will be and I have
here competing for a second or third place in that
division just because I played in that division for years
and never seen Arizona as a threat. So I mean
it was a casual Sunday to go in Arizona and
(07:55):
just beat him down. So yeah, yeah, no Rams all
day here. So I definitely see them competing for second
or third place in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And I'm done.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
I'm done.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
The twenty twenty five Cardinals will be a wildcard team.
I'll say it now, I'll say it again in September.
I think they will be a wildcard team this year.
I said it last year.
Speaker 8 (08:16):
They weren't. I wasn't right.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
They doubled their win total last year. You think it's
a forgettable season, and I know the Cardinals or maybe
you don't come out in Neon and the bright lights
as much as you need them too, I don't care.
I like their coach, I like their quarterback, I like
their run game. I like how tough they play. Again,
they doubled their win total from being a really poor
record and before wins the year before. There's not a
lot of teams you can do that and tell me
(08:38):
who you are absolutely in love with in the NFC West.
I like the Rams too. Are you sure the Niners
have all the juice with the players that they've lost.
Are you ready to sign up for the Sam Darnold Seahawks.
I like the Cardinals. I think the Cardinals will be
a wildcard team. I don't apologize for it. Come back
from back four months from now, I'll stay it in September.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Well, it would definitely be something different because Kyler Murray,
his career highs live in the year two thousand at
this point, and we've seen his struggles with DeAndre Hopkins
twenty twenty, and we've seen him struggle with Marquise Brown,
had a hard time with the rookie who we're even
talking about right now last year, Marvin Harrison Junior. I'm
really interested to see how the jump that they make
(09:17):
and where they are in the division in general. So
we got to wait to see that one. How about
third down, it's never wondering about how Cowboys star Ceedee
Lamb feels about the whole wide receiver one debate for Dallas.
Take a listen to him and George Pickens from Kyler
Murray's charity softball game over the weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Speaker 8 (09:37):
The code number ones.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Doubt both ones, Yeah, ain't it ain't no ab None
of that is one. You look over there, you see one.
You look over here, you see another one.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
So do what you gotta do with that.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
Right now, I'm thinking about how I'm gonna hit the
home run.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
I ain't really seem we're trying to focus on how
we're going to dominate this softball game.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Every time we on the field were trying to dominate together,
so right now we now.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
I want to feel for football.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Okay, I love this entergy. First of all, that's great.
George Pickens's answer was also perfect. He's just he just
really wants to dominate any sport that he's doing.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
In that exact moment.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
He's living in the present because the Cowboys dynamic duo
got us thinking best NBA jam comp to new Cowboys
ride receivers Lamb and Pickens. Kyle, I know that this
is sort of your corner, so let's go.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
I love this. First of all, I would like to
know how did George Pickens do in that at bat?
Did he hit did he hit a home run? Did
he make contact? Like, did we look into that somehow
and see how he did? Let's see, yeah, something around
how Pickens bad?
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Was he?
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Two for three? What was his was war guys? Nineteen
ninety three? The first NBA jam came out. I remember
it very well, and I remember that for some reason,
the coolest team in the NBA other than the Bulls
was the Charlotte Hornets. Everybody had the Charlotte Horners started.
Everybody like the Jerseys. And that is why for my
(11:01):
comp a NBA jam, I'm going to go with Larry
Johnson and Kendall Gill. This is Grandmama who had a
shoe deal with convers Look at him on the left
right out of UNLVA, the running wraps, and then Kendall Gill.
Now who's who I think certainly Ceedee Lamb is Larry
Johnson just pure talent, size, physical specimen. And then Kendall
(11:22):
Gill is George Pickens, a little unpredictable. And I hate
to have to bring this up, but after basketball, Kendall
Gill did get into the fight game and he exited
the fight game in about twelve seconds. It was not
a great ending for him, but I know Pickens likes
to scrap sometimes, and I look at those hats, and
I look at those two guys, and I see him
that way. I was tempted to go Sean Kemp and
Benoit Benjamin, but they didn't pair Kemp with Debt left
(11:43):
Shrimp yet, who was still on the paces with Reggie Miller.
So I'll go with my Hornets because the Hornets were
so cool in ninety three.
Speaker 8 (11:49):
He's eat up right.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
I'm gonna stick with the same theme here. I'm gonna
go bad boys. I'm gonna go Detroit Pistons. Isaiah Thomas
being like the Finesse, the all out lightning player.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
I got to coach with the boy. So I saw Ceedee.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
Lamb up and up close in person, and he is
easily one of the best athletes on the field or
I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
And you got Bill and Bear. We mentioned unpredictable. He's
beyond unpredictable.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
He's just absolutely crazy, but still a sure fine, unbelievable talent.
And that's who you got there. You got the Finesse,
you got the Dog, and then you got Lamb, beerd Pickings.
You just don't know what's gonna happen. Still be effector
and productive. But you got to find a way to
just manage because you don't know what's going to happen.
Speaker 9 (12:31):
Man, I'm gonna go with, you know, not the nineties.
I see, I see what you get where you went there,
you went back in the nineties. I'm gonna go something
that a little bit. Two thousands, early two thousands. I
had the Portland trail Blazers, but I had Darius Miles
and Quentin Jefferson just because I feel like those were
two guys above the rim type players. And when I
think about George Pickens, I think about Ceedee Lamb. I
(12:52):
think about them, you know, dunking and you know, catching
the ball, going up for jump balls in a touchdown.
So when I'm thinking about a combo of two guys,
you know, you think about dak you know, having the
option of going over here, havingnumber one didn't go on
to the other side, and having a number one so
to each his own. Man, I think both of them
to go out there and do their thing. But yeah,
Darius Miles and Queen Jafson, That's.
Speaker 8 (13:12):
Why I went with.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
I mean, maybe a little Moses Malone and Julius Servin.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
I could go like way back we go, bar.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Bet you go, Alan Iverson and Andrea Goodala.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Yeah, Colleen, I got an important research update. Researcher Lakwan
says he was watching video of the softball game, and
he says, George Pickens struck out swinging, So it's not
easy to strike out in softball, but apparently that's what happened,
and I have to go with it.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Sorry, Well, at least it wasn't with the bat on
his shoulder.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
At least he was swinging. Okay, if you're going to
go down, yeah, you gotta swing. Okay, Hey, great job.
Look on, everyone is on fire today. We love it.
We got more coming up. Michael Brockers with teammates with
one of.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
The greatest ever in mister Aaron Donald. That's why he's
giving you his top defensive lines in the NFL right
now today.
Speaker 8 (14:03):
Kyle, I love it.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
I'm into it. I love seeing that ninety nine and
I love seeing Why are we looking at Eli? Do
you know what today is National Eli Day? Does anybody
know that? We know it? And not even Eli Manning?
Just if your name is Eli, it's your days. Not
a lot of people name Eli. We'll celebrate one of
them after this. What are Eli's top ten plays? Are
you taking work off for national Eli? I'm certainly not.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Yo, Welcome back to Good Morning Football. Is your boy
Will Blackman here with my dog Michael Brocker.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
It's funny.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
Our producer asked us yesterday, like, come up with your
top secondaries, come out with your top defensive line. But
we're like, I look and we have the same answer.
So on the spot, I'm a create a segment. It's
gonna be called Russian Cover because they're synonymous.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
So we're gonna do it.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
We're gonna give you your top three defenses that involved
in the Russian Cover.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
So we're gonna start with number three. Let's go. Who
we got for your D line?
Speaker 8 (15:01):
Man? I got the Texans. Man.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
I'm from Houston.
Speaker 9 (15:04):
I get to watch those games locally, so I always
get to see Will Anderson. I get to see my
guy from LSU.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Damn, I can't five five.
Speaker 9 (15:13):
I forgot your name. I'm sorry, but you know those
defensive ends coming off the edge, getting after the quarterback.
You know you got O Tree right there as well.
I love seeing them play. I love how they get
after the quarterback, and I just think because they didn't
lose anybody. I think they'll go back and do the
same thing again.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Yeah, this defense, they take on the personality of Jamika
Ryans and they will already lights out aggressive. And then
they go and get CJ. Garda Johnson who just asked that,
or you got the pro bowler Devis Stingley, and so
rush and cover these two with the defense and the secondary.
They've been outstanding. You see right here, I mean they're
all over. I think they had two guys in the
(15:51):
top ten interception so that tells you rate there. How
they're working together with the Russian cover.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
All right, we're gonna go to number two. Let's start
with the D line. Here you go, man, number two.
Speaker 9 (16:00):
Man, I have the defending champions.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Someone tell of that number two. That's crazy.
Speaker 9 (16:05):
You'll be surprised at my number one. But the defending
champions at number two because they have guys. Let's be real, man,
on that defensive line, they have a bunch of guys.
They lost Sweat, they lost my guy, but they have
a bunch of defensive end Us.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Gram retired, Brandon Graham retired. Yep, he retired.
Speaker 9 (16:25):
So you're losing a lot, but you have so many
athletes on that on that defensive line, you can't forget
about Damn Carter. Come on, let's be real, but they
have a bunch of talent on that defensive line.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
They get up the.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
Quarterback and again we're gonna go to the secondary, and
they were the definitely the beneficiary of this. They lose
Darius Lay, you know who ran a four to three.
They lost him, but they get Keeley Ringo, who also runs.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
A fourth three.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
They added Dorri Jackson obviously, Cooper de g who I
actually met this all season, and that dude is a
certified baller Quinna Minchell. And then reblinkship and they get
Andrew mccooba. I think he's gonna be an instant addition
to this secondary. And as you see again of that
second in points first and total yards thirteen to sacks
six and takeaways, and guys, we're gonna finish with number one.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
Let go and talk to me.
Speaker 9 (17:14):
The surprising pick for number one is a team that
I've been watching for a little bit just because of
that defensive line play they've been They've been practicing with
bj Jordan in the offseason, and you see it come out.
They led in sacks last year was the Denver Broncos.
They get after the quarterback at all levels. I mean
you from the defensive end four I you know, you
got John Franklin Myers who gets after the quarterback. And
(17:36):
then you have all these young guys, all these young
cats who can just go you know at the end.
So you know, seeing Denver, you know that defense held
them down last year. And you know, I just know
that they didn't lose anybody as well, so all those
guys will be back, you know, ready to get after
the quarterback as well.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
Yeah, this defensive line had sixty three sacks, which is
absolutely sick oratious. Led let the league and let's go
to the secondary. You got the defensive player of the
year Patrick Certain actually him at the XP's one year.
And this dude, he got to be six three six
four massive. And then they go and add probably my
favorite safe right now in Hu Fungo.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
They went and got him.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
Obviously dealt some health issues, but man, that guy reminds
me of Earl Thomas when he plays. They got Brandon Jones,
who was a certified tackler.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
They add John A. Barron to play Nickel.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
Who again from Texas, is outstanding and they also got
those sleep on me Riley Moss on the other side.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
So there we go.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
We got a hard rankings there for the top three
Russian covers.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
We got the Houston Texans.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
We got the Eagles, we got the Broncos. And that's
what it is. Rush and you need both guys, you analytics.
If you're talking about you need to shut down corner.
You need a pass Rusher, trust me, pass Rusher. Ask
any GM pass Rusher Russian cover.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
We're gonna ce Cynthia.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
Yes, we went to DC together, Cynthia.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
God Kyle, all Right, I love the list, I love
the top three. Will I gotta ask you as a
wine guy, I'm sure you saw the meme about the
Eagles and the quote unquote exciting whites and Degene and
blanket Ship. You've mentioned that you met Cooper de Gene.
Tell us more about him fast and than they did.
What were your impressions, se.
Speaker 5 (19:16):
I feel like when he when he went from Iowa
to Philly, he.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Turned to a different dude. He turned.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
I mean, he already has swag in terms of who
he is, but he's just he know, he walks around
like he picked off mahomes and took it to the crib.
And but he's such he's such a high spirited, good guy,
and I think I think he went from an exciting
Sharon day and he might be a nice peen on
the water.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
I'm just letting you know right now.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
He might.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
He might. He might be a nice pen on the
war right now, which.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
He went from a white one to a one?
Speaker 5 (19:47):
Yes, Yes, Burgundy one of the special wines in the world.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Burgundy, Okay, yes? Are you John? Sounds like a wine,
doesn't it, Cooper?
Speaker 3 (19:58):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
I always think mustard for some reason I don't know,
But that's Jon. Yeah, it's so shar Is that the
lowest on your rankings in terms of Oh.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
No, I don't really have a low ranking wine. You
know what. My grandmother she loves a white zinfandel.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
That's her thing, Like she would bathe the nest stuff
if she could. I'm not a fan, but because of
my wine background, I may not enjoy it, but I
understand it.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
I got it. This show is like a big line.
It just keeps getting better and better. I'm more of
I like a Santaves region wine. You know what I'm saying.
That's it. That's all I know.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
All we want to think of the list.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
I love the list.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I thought that maybe the Eagles should be number one,
but it's hard to argue.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
With the Broncos production. They are very good. So listen,
I'm not biased.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
I'm not a total homer, and I'll give it to
the Broncos in the AFC. Fine, there you go, all right, everybody,
We'll be back with more JMFB after this.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Welcome back, everybody. So today is a special day.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
For people named Eli. It's National Eli Day. I hope
Eli Roth is celebrating. He was one of my favorites
in Quentin Tarantino's and Glorious Bastards. If you haven't seen it,
check it out. Not like it's a new flick or
anything like that. However, we're taking the holiday here back
to the NFL and looking at Eli Manning's top ten
plays of his career.
Speaker 11 (21:20):
Play action and Manning's gonna he won these. Oh there's
a flag thank the ed catch? How in the whole
Oh my goodness, that ridiculaly.
Speaker 8 (21:33):
He does it basically with the thumb and his forefinger.
That may be the greatest catch I've ever seen in
my life. It's in the conversation, Oh.
Speaker 12 (21:41):
My goodness, early six seconds.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Bacome to the right side, this time one.
Speaker 13 (21:50):
On one with rock Elie.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
It is caught for a touchdown by Larry Danelle.
Speaker 12 (22:00):
What a drive, unbelievable, what a perfectly thrown Paul Wow.
Giants could not keep their last possession, keep the DLive alive.
On a third down and two, as Manning looks to
Trude and he raced to the ins, Dude Williams sits
(22:24):
to the outside.
Speaker 8 (22:25):
They were not anticipator, at least he wasn't that Cruz was.
Speaker 13 (22:28):
Going to run a goat route right from the heart
of that defense.
Speaker 8 (22:31):
But he does. His speed once again gets.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
By Wilson, and a well thrown ball by a.
Speaker 12 (22:36):
Man Matt comes Eli Manning and back come the Giants.
Speaker 8 (22:42):
Now third down and fifteen, Manning.
Speaker 13 (22:46):
And Chaun Manningham for the touchdown, and Jake Ballard he's
on the inside.
Speaker 8 (22:55):
He pulls the safety out of the.
Speaker 13 (22:56):
Way, which then gives Manning a clear shot to Manningham
for the touchdown.
Speaker 8 (23:01):
Seventeen fourteen. If they throws something quick and get out
of bound, they're gonna have a chance.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Four more.
Speaker 13 (23:09):
N Bibber, we have fifty five yards drive from here
and now instead they're going.
Speaker 14 (23:14):
For it all the pass is caught for the touchdown. Unbelievable,
a remarkable touchdown here in Lamball.
Speaker 8 (23:25):
They were in a position for.
Speaker 13 (23:27):
Eli Manning to have enough arm strength to get it up.
Speaker 8 (23:32):
All up the two Manning looking looking here. Not the
pressure pass on Jesus Knight. It's Trumor up cut against
the Broncos.
Speaker 13 (23:44):
Look you take back in ninety eight, Eli Many gave
himself some extra time by just back Pendley and.
Speaker 8 (23:52):
It allowed Amati Tumor to come across the field.
Speaker 11 (23:56):
Eli celebrates as the Giants drive down the field eighty
three yards in three minutes.
Speaker 8 (24:02):
In twenty four seconds, Giants look a little confused. They
have two timeouts. Off his back foot up for grabs
for Boris.
Speaker 13 (24:15):
And Plexico Buris has given the Giants their first win
of the year.
Speaker 8 (24:20):
Eli Manning threw it up.
Speaker 13 (24:21):
Off his back foot and Plexico Burris was there waiting
for the catch, the touchdown of the victory for New York.
What a great job by Eli Manning putting his team
in a position to win the game.
Speaker 8 (24:38):
Manning locks it.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Qoras along Chi Stock Year.
Speaker 8 (24:47):
Seventeen fourteen Giants.
Speaker 13 (24:50):
You take a look at this route here by Plexico Corus.
Speaker 8 (24:53):
A great job. Ellis hobbson coverage.
Speaker 13 (24:55):
He starts to the inside just enough to sell the slam,
and then he goes.
Speaker 8 (24:59):
To the corner.
Speaker 13 (24:59):
They call that the slant and go route, Slugo route.
Speaker 8 (25:03):
And it worked beautifully.
Speaker 13 (25:04):
Eli Manning puts a little pump fake on him to
get him to bite, and then goes to the corner.
Speaker 14 (25:10):
Or man Rocky Eli throwing into traffic on the sideline.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Man are on a couch by Manning.
Speaker 8 (25:16):
Half along the sideline.
Speaker 11 (25:19):
They're gonna spot the ball at the fifty yard line.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
This is absolutely brilliant.
Speaker 12 (25:25):
Let's watch his feet, both feet off the ground to
catch one foot two feet.
Speaker 8 (25:30):
Because every Giant fan is exultant, simply remarkable.
Speaker 12 (25:35):
For the next fifty years you'll be watching highlights of
that catch.
Speaker 14 (25:39):
Third down and five crasher from Thomas off the edge,
Elime Manning stays on his feet, airs.
Speaker 8 (25:48):
It out down the field. It is caught by tym
Ray inside the twenty five.
Speaker 14 (25:56):
And a time out.
Speaker 11 (25:57):
Take it.
Speaker 13 (25:58):
Eli man I don't know how he got out of there.
I thought he was on the ground and then he
came out of the pile and just slays it. Oh
my god, this ball is thrown and ty Regius goes
up for it like a basketball player, Harrison trying to
knock it down. And that was after somehow Eli Manning
was able to avoid the satns.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
Oh Eli Manning.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I hope that he's celebrating as well today.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
So will you played with Eli?
Speaker 2 (26:25):
What was it like having him in the locker room
Because I know Sean O'Hara, who I worked with for years,
he was always preaching the greatness of Eli, and he
was the first one to really be like, no, this
dude is awesome. He's so fun he's funny, he's great to.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Have around, awesome in the locker room. He was rider
dying well number one, just.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Being out lockerblemon.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
We had so many alphas, but he's a Manning like,
he's funny, that's who he is.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
He was hilarious. He was always chill. But I'll say the.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
One thing that stood out about Eli was he was
the ultimate guy when it came to preparation, like he
was always prepared.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
He was so unbothered. I remember one time Dion said
he's like.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
An old lady, like when he's happy, he got a
straight face when he's he has a straight face. You
just never know his emotions how he is mentally. But
I will say, let me get back to the top ten.
I do not agree with number one. I understand this. Yes,
the situation Eli had the baggy rebok jersey that he
was able to get out of and get that football off.
(27:21):
But I was there for that manning Ham catch on
the sideline, especially the context, the context when coach Belichick said,
don't go to like stop Cruise, stop hockey Nicks. Make
him go to Mario Manningham. And he went to Mario Manningham.
And I'll tell you this, had I dropped that punt
prior to this catch, we would not be talking about
(27:42):
this catch.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
So, yes, I fair caught that ball. And I remember
I remember thinking.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
I remember thinking to myself the whole time, if you
dropped this punt, will you cannot go back to New York.
You probably came and get in the plane. I said
all the wrong things, Yes, in your head, I did
because I was terrified the balls in the air for
thirty minutes. I fair caught it and I hugged it
with my dear life in the very nice like Eli
Bam dying many him. I was just gorgeous.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
It was meant to be.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
It was meant to be. I'm tired. I love you know.
Speaker 9 (28:13):
Unfortunately I didn't get to play with Eli, but just
seeing him as a competitor, watching the top team plays,
you know, he was phenomenal in the big games when
it counted, he was always the one that went out
and won the game. So to see him, you know,
be honored today. It's Eli Day. You phenomenal quarterback, hell
of a career.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Uh good to see.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
Yeah, hey, Kyle, I mean I remember.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
One of the coolest things was Eli was the starting
quarterback for the for the Giants and the first game
ever played at Jerry World, and it was a huge
deal that the Cowboys at a new stadium. Is the
biggest Jumbo tron, the biggest, this biggest that Eli went
in there, beat the Cowboys and then autographed the wall
of the locker room as a way.
Speaker 8 (28:53):
To break into which was so so cold.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
But I have to every time I watch ELI highlights,
and I know, will you talked about the helmet catch.
The unsung hero of the Eli legacy is my Carry.
Mike Carry was the referee and that officiating year. We
did not whistle the play dead. He tried to think
about it for a second. He can't see him in
this angle. It's the wide angle from the broadcast view.
(29:17):
He jumps in and he was damn close to blowing
the whistle. And if he blows that whistle, the Patriots
have a perfect season. Eli doesn't win the Super Bowl.
We can't see it in any of these angles. Just
trust me and the show that when the angle you've
seen a thousand times, Mike carry is about to stop
the helmet catch because Eli is wrapped up. It's an
amazing thing that he didn't. But will I want to
(29:38):
go back to you. You talked about the fair catch,
you set it up and everything. That game the second
Patriots Giants, that whole game was looked at as Brady's revenge,
Belichick's revenge. All the heat was on New England. Did
you guys think going to that game like we got this,
Like what was the mentality of that Giants team going
into that game?
Speaker 5 (29:57):
No, that's a great question because the night before coach
Kauflin gave us a speech.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
You know him what he's known for, you know, finding
the hell out of us.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
I think I got find like two thousand dollars for
socks alone just being on the team, just the wrong
colored socks. He but prior he spoke, he spoke to
the team and he literally, instead of like this raw
rock speech, he said, burn the ships when we beat
the forty nine ers, like burner ships.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
We're not going back to New York. But prior to that.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
Game, he talked about he just went around a room
and really expressed how much he loved in each every
single player. He gave stories of Richie Sarburg, you know,
having surgery midseason. He spoke about David, He spoke about
all these guys and literally he was in tears prior
to the game. And so we see this from coach Coauughlin,
We're like, man, we're about to beat the hell of
these boys. So like like we were so we were
(30:42):
so ready, we were so inspired, just because he showed
his true emotion. And I would say this goes back
to his late wife, Judy, who really taught him to
like he She said, you need to open up to
these boys. You need to show him how you are
with your grandkids, who, by the way, is Christine who
I played football with the BC. That was funny too.
When they drafted Christnee, we were like, oh, yeah, gonna
You're gonna be with his daughter, You're gonna be there
(31:03):
under his watch. And so when he opened up to us,
we just felt so comfortable and aspired to go play
this football game. And that's that's what really got it done.
It wasn't like anything raw, raw, crazy. It was this
pure organic emotion.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
That's I think that's the key to everything.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Anytime that someone just opens up, is vulnerable, lets their
guard down, then you know that they're genuine and they're
not putting on some type of front, and it makes
everyone else feel at ease and you can trust this
person and like that, you're actually kind of connecting on
that level. We've been connecting all show along with the
control room and you, Kyle asked for the broadcast angle.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
We got it. No problem here it is. Let's check
it out. Let's right.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
I watched Mike carry on the right and the white
hat Eli's about to attact and he jumps in their butt.
Wait no, and then he backs the hell out. That
is great officiating. That is great poised, that is great restraint.
It's totally under respected because the catch was so amazing.
The guy who's going to stop that play was not
Rodney Harrison, my friends, it was Mike Carry and he
(32:03):
did it. That's good officiating. We should credit it when
they do it.
Speaker 8 (32:06):
Well.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
I love that moment from Mike Carrien.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Okay, well, we'll celebrate Mike on National Mic Day.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
To the carry yeah or Carry Day.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
But I'll say too like the things that also doesn't
get talked about Eli is his toughness and I got
to witness witness at first hand when we play the
forty nine ers for the Energy Championship Game. He literally
got the snot kicked out of him. I think they
had twenty hits on Homeboy, and he threw the ball
fifty five times and just every time stared down the
barrel boom, boom, boom. I think Victor Cruz had thirteen receptions. Also,
(32:36):
he had the streak. He had the streak in terms
of playing consecutive games. And I'm gonna say this, I
think when they benched him, that was the initial curse
of the Giants. The curse of Eli happened when you
benched him. And hopefully, hopefully, based on the great offseason
they had, things will get better. I believe in my giants.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Look at you. That's beautiful. I'm happy for you.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Also, the NFL's greatest meme, probably all of history, is.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
The Eli Face.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
I can't believe we haven't even covered that. It's it's
part of history. It should go into the Hall of Fame.
But yeah, that's great.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
We love it. Happy National Eli Day, everybody.
