Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football. Hey, everybody, you know what this is.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
It's Good Morning Football presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerkey
Live is always in New York City. Tuesday, December nineteenth,
The bow in Week fifteen. I'm Jamie Urdaal. There's Kyle Brant,
Peter Scheger, and Jason mccordy. Who Philadelphia Eagles had a
very interesting night on the West coast. There were interesting
quarterback conversations to be had. Peter, what does your heart

(00:49):
tell you this morning about that team down nine ninety five?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
So, yeah, the whole show to discuss it. I stood
up for that entire game. And what is it?

Speaker 5 (00:57):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (00:58):
I like that Drew Locke is all things?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Put that on it.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Okay, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
What do I mean? Let's get into it.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Let's get right game for the Eagles, right question, a
little sick, but he played.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Drew lock is in for Gino. Seahawks win.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Unbelievable comeback, Drew Locke spectacular. Eagles got all kinds of problems,
but the Seahawks are alive.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
They break the losing streak and Drew.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Lock afterwards was in an emotional place. This is pretty cool.
Here's the winning Seahawks quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
Amazing won't do it justice. Amazing won't do it justice.
But amazing also doesn't do justice.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
What the on line? What DK didn't that catch?

Speaker 5 (01:40):
What the receivers did what Ken Walker, Zach Charbonnay did
an all game long?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
The tight ends man. It takes a special group to.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Rally around the guy that knows coming into a second
game of the year, right used to the same thing
all year long, Saint Kayden's same spin.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Of the ball, everything.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
But a team like that, not just the offense, the
defense to rally around me and a knight man that
was That was amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I hear some emotion in your voice.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
Yeah, it's been a long time.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
It's been a long time. I'm just blessed.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
I'm just blessed, blessed with a great group of guys,
a great city, great coaching staff.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
It's just it's awesome. It's a while.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
And guess what, the Seahawks find themselves right back in
the thick of it in the playoff picture, Eagles go
to the five seed and back we have the Cowboys
at the two seed at the playoffs were to start today,
Cowboys would have the edge on the Eagles due to
conference opponents and records. Seahawks would be at seven and seven.
Of course, they were swept by the Rams. Well, let's

(02:49):
not discuss that right now. They's got plenty of football
left to go. What a win by Seattle, what a
devastating loss by the Eagles, makes for a very interesting
final stretch to the season.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
It could have been such an opportunistic one day night
for the Philadelphia Eagles, yet they did not pounce on
that opportunity. Peter hard fought win by the Seahawks. We
saw the emotion, We heard the emotion from Drew Lock.
We saw it out of Pete Carroll. Great story for
Drew Locks.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
I think it was the ESPN bottom linth I said
it was twelve hundred days since Drew Lock had an
opportunity to have a game winning drive.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
He's waited his time. He heard it there for two years.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
He's been backing up Gino Smith and this is after
being the starter in Denver. He gets another opportunity, comes
in and tell you what, ninety two yards in the
final two minutes. This is an all time drive and
one that he'll never forget, and one that we should appreciate.
Let's get through the drive here because the numbers themselves,
they're five for ten with the touchdown pass, but the

(03:45):
key was the big third and ten he hits DK metcalf,
which is the entire game on the line here. We're
gonna get to it in a second here as he
moves the ball all the way down the field, Drew
Lock in this moment here he says, you know, I
talked to Geno Smith right before the final drive. Geno
Smith tells him on the sideline, you're the best player

(04:07):
on the field. Go show them that you're the best
player on the field right now. It's the stuff that
you write stories about, because if they lose this game,
the Seahawks are more or less out of the playoff
fiction and they're done. They find a way to go
against the defending Super Bowl champions, and it's Drew Lock
of all people.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
And I'll say this.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
The postgame interview with Lisa Salter is getting, you know,
flowers and accolades, and Lisa did a great job. The
same people online that are like, man, I just feel
real good for Drew Lock are the same people that
tore him down when he was in Denver.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Yes, it's a feel good story, but that's part of it.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
Everybody wrote Drew Lock off, the Denver Broncos Drew Lock off.
He was a second round pick at the start of games.
They traded him as a throw in in the Russell
Wilson deal, and he didn't even start last year for
Seattle or the first fifteen games for Seattle, so he
has to wait his turn, and when his number is called,
Drew Lock steps up. We love the story and he'll

(05:02):
be a Seahawk legend if they make the playoffs this year.
If he never plays another game, it's like they threw
Drew Lock into the fire and he found a way.
But the same media that rolled their eyes and made
fun of Drew Lock for dancing on the sidelines, So
the same ones being like, what a heartwarming story.

Speaker 7 (05:17):
He's a warrior, that's what he does.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
He goes out there and Drew Lock got and dont
I'm happy for the kid.

Speaker 7 (05:22):
That's cool. Yes, sports media, we all do it. Every
single day. Somebody has a bad game with de shaw
Himan and they come back and they bounce back. And
it was cool because he talked about you start to
deut yourself as a player when you think you're this high,
you're a starter. Next thing, you're not. And you get
the opportunity. And he showed up, and their offense, you said,
at ninety two yard drive, longest one in the season.
But on the other side, the defense had to step

(05:43):
up and hold Philadelphia and allow them to win that game.
And they were able to really do that throughout the
entire night. A lot of it in the fourth quarter
had to do with a guy by the name of
Julian Love, the ex New York Giant, the captain that
was there. He goes over to Seattle fourth quarter. Here
Janalen Hurst thinking all right, I'm gonna throw it up
the quest just make a play for me. Julian Love

(06:03):
comes down with there exception, there was a tug on
a jersey. I know they didn't call it. He comes
away with the I in t that's the first one
in the fourth quarter. All right, Seattle goes down, Drew
Lock puts the drive together, Hurts has time, comes back,
goes to aj Brown and he said, after the game,
we knew where he was going. Eleven is his guy.
I never took my eyes off of him and he

(06:25):
comes across and he makes the play so fun to watch.
Because we had Julian Love on our show around the
Super Bowl last year. He was a New York Giant
at the time Philadelphia Eagles were playing in the Super Bowl.
Sirianni was me mugging Cameron's We said, Julian, what did
you think of that? And what do you think of
Sirianni and the Eagles? And this is what he had
to say.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
See this stuff though, like what's your reaction as a
player and that guy is doing that.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
I don't like him.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
I don't like it at all. I mean, he's he
didn't for a free ride right now.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
You guys can coach this team and can.

Speaker 7 (06:55):
See that's how bolted board right there?

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Come on?

Speaker 7 (07:03):
And then he goes out there intercepts the ball twice
in the fourth quarter to send Philadelphia back. Boss the
Colts to take a long playing rode home to think
about that, el Julia Love, kudos to him. He played
a hell of a game and he has the last
few weeks. You really did super clutch. Love seeing him
on the show, Love seeing the Giants jacket. May it
makes sense.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
He's been all over the place but huge plays last night.
The Philadelphia thing, like the storm is surging over the
city of Philadelphia. You can smell the fear from up here.
You can smell the anger. Their offense is terrible. They
can't score. I mean, they're really good at touch push, Like,
as long as Jalen Hurts has two guys pushing them
and they're at the goal line, they're unstoppable. But everywhere else,
in every other game situation, they can't do anything.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
I guess the.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Defense was slightly better and they brought in Matt Patricia.
So do they go like, do they go get Josh
McDaniels or something, or Brandon Staley or like something to
fix the offense. They can't score, They can't do anything.
It's really bad. You got thump by San Francisco, all right, Dallas,
that's highly concerning. I mean, Peter, there was a beautiful
love letter to Drew Locke. I agree with everything you said.
You're the Philadelphia Eagles. You just got beat by Drew

(08:01):
Locke in the final minute of the game. And here's
what's most concerning. They're not playing well. So Jalen is sick. Okay,
it happens after the game. I didn't like this.

Speaker 8 (08:13):
I've been talking about execution all year. Been on the
same page. Everyone been on the same page. And we
don't et cute. I don't think where we're committed enough,
you know, you know, just just got to turn it around.

(08:33):
We have to. We have to make a like a
like internal change and how we attack things, how we
come to work every day. You know, it starts with
the little things. How committed we are to doing what
we're doing. And it all starts with me, the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
All right, So we're not committed enough. We have to
change how we come to work every day. They've lost
three games in a row. What you're trying to do
is an Engles Fanger's saying, well, the night has lost
three in a row, and look at them now. I
went back and looked after the Niners lost their three
games in a row with their team leaders, said Shanahan,
I believe we have the answers in our building. We
have good players. We're gonna fix this. Brock Purdy, I

(09:16):
think all of us are really hungry for the second half.
We'll be ready for it. Christian McCaffrey. We have the
right guys. We'll just get back to the tape, correct
the mistakes and move on. Eric armstam, we have everything
we need to be successful team wise. Going to the
bye week, it'd be good for us to get some reflection.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
We'll get back on track.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Janeen Hurts is saying, we got to check out our
commitment and we got maybe guys who aren't committed and
how we show up to work. That's not the same
deal and it's not the same. It's not apples for
apples either way. Because the Eagles don't have time, they
don't have a bye week, they don't have the playoffs
are here, like this is December. We talked about it yesterday.
Who's ready to race? It's go time, get in the
starting blocks. It was another terrible loss. The team seems

(09:52):
to be broken. The football is bad. The leadership looked
terrible too, Like they look like their wills broken.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
They look like fans.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
They look like fans walking out of the stadium saying
I don't know how.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
To play football anymore. I don't know how they want
to game.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I mean, I think if I have the schedule right,
I think they're playing the Tommy Devido Experience next.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Peter Teas next three weeks. They could lose to.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
Them, and I have a Cardinals game in between, so
this should be winnable games, but.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
So should the Seahawks's.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
They look devastated emotionally, and they look like not themselves physically.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
The touch push works nothing else does.

Speaker 7 (10:23):
He looks terrible.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
First of all, Jalen hurts physically. He was ill. It
was reported heavily before the game began. He had to
fly separately from the game. Obviously we saw the look
on his face. Doesn't look right, doesn't look like himself.
Whether or not that's an excuse for how the offense
in the last three weeks hasn't scored over twenty points,
remains to be seen. That we're committed clearly irked a
lot of people in the media as well, because a

(10:47):
journalists then followed up with him and said, what do
you exactly mean by committed? And Jalen whether or not
he understood the impact of that using that word in
that settings that I don't know. I didn't bring my dictionary,
so he's trying to not put an actual definition on it,
or he kind of realized like, oh no, no, understand
what I just put out there, or maybe he did
intentionally and he wants his teammates to think about that.

(11:09):
But it was a curious case, a very intentional word
to use after that fiction frightening loss, committed.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Well committed.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
They want him to point it even further at what
direct what part of the locker.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Room was committed?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Or who needs a change the way they.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Show up at their job?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Curious at Nick Sirianni when he started with this offense, Peter,
he was calling the place right and now could you
see a path where maybe he retains that job.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
We'll see they're bleeding. They're bleeding bad right now.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
I fixed this and we're going to talk about it
in the eight o'clock hour again, because I think it's
a bigger conversation about the move that they made during
the week, you know, essentially removing Sean Desai from all
defensive responsibilities and saying map guy and doing that in
week fifteen and then giving up ninety two yards on
the final drive of a game that he was a
must win with the last two minutes. So the offensive

(11:56):
side of the ball is hurting too. The defensive side
of the ball. That defensive backfield looked no better than
it's looked all season long.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
And although Keilly Ringo I thought played pretty well well.
He stepped up when they needed it most.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
They couldn't stop dk Metcalf, and the same issues that
were plaguing them before this week came back and.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
They did it on national television and plagued them again
this week.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
We're not done with the Eagles Seahawks on Good Morning Football.
We are just getting started with Mike Garrofolo this morning,
our NFL Network insider.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Mike.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Things that we should be paying attention to on this
Tuesday morning in late December, Well, Jamie.

Speaker 9 (12:26):
Some things like injuries to key players like Jamar Chase,
the Bengals wide receiver who suffered a shoulder injury in
that game the other day. We told you it was
an AC joint separation, sometimes referred to as a sprain,
and these things could be grade one, two, three, and
so Zach Taylor. Before Chase had his MRI said that

(12:49):
Chase was going to be day to day, or at
least that was the hope. Ian Rapaport now reporting it
is a week to week type injury. Chase expected to
miss this upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 7 (13:00):
Sounds like he could.

Speaker 9 (13:01):
Miss multiple games potentially the Bengals aren't going to rule
them out. Hope that maybe he develops as the week
goes on.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
We shall see.

Speaker 9 (13:08):
We'll continue to keep an eye on that Trevor Lawrence.
We're going to keep an eye on him. He's got
that concussion which was suffered on the final drive of
the game against the Ravens the other day. Doug Peterson saying,
I'm not in the business of predicting head injuries. It's
really hard for all of.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Us to do.

Speaker 9 (13:22):
We have to see how Lawrence does as the week
goes along. All of a sudden, this division is a race.
The Jaguars were running away with it, so this is
a pivotal game for them against the Buccaneers. We'll see
if Lawrence can get through the protocol in time to
play that game. Then there's Isaiah Pacheco, the Chiefs running
back Andy Reid saying that he should be going good
to go this week after missing the last couple of

(13:43):
games following shoulder surgery.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
He had a little bit of a cleanup there.

Speaker 9 (13:47):
He is the physical presence that will come back to
the Chiefs this weekend when they play it's actually what Monday,
Christmas Day, they play the Las Vegas Raiders. They will
have Isaiah Pacheco back.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Good to go.

Speaker 10 (14:00):
GAMMI third times a charm, that's for sure. No, but
just our team was really prepared to come in here,
just like we talked about that mentality, the playoff mentality,
to come in here with one job in mind and
just to find a way to win. And we did that.
So just couldn't be happier this group. And so we'll

(14:22):
enjoy it, but then hit the reset button on the
next week. I'm having fun playing football. I wouldn't say
I'm satisfied by any means. Still got ball left, still
have playoffs in mind, and so I'm still hungry.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
Time for another edition of weed we Out. I don't
know if we gave enough time to Baker. No, Kyle
gave him his game ball yesterday, But to Baker Bakefield,
we see goes into lambeau Field had a perfect passer rating.
He passed for three hundred and eighty one yards through
for four touchdowns at zero interceptions against a Packers team
that was just dying for a win. Let's get to
Baker's big picture season right now, as the Buccaneers are

(14:59):
in first place in the NFC South, they would be
hosting a playoff game.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
He's a guy who's making.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
Four million dollars this year to be the starting quarterback
of the Buccaneers.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Aside from DeMar Hamlin, who's.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
Comeback has been incredible, Baker Mayfield is your twenty twenty
three comeback Player of the Year.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Are we in or we out? Jason mccordy, I.

Speaker 7 (15:18):
Put a lot of thought into this. I'm gonna have
to say I am in. Okay, So I was thinking
about Matthew Stafford. He's a guy that was injured last year.
When he played, it wasn't pretty through a lot of interceptions.
He's come back this year at thirty five years old.
He looks phenomenal throwing the ball to Pooka, the Tutu,
Kyraen Williams, these young guys. But what Baker Mayfield's doing.
Nobody expected that he signed with Tampa Bay. And we're like,

(15:41):
all right, they got Kyle Trash. They'll battle it out
in training camp. We'll see who comes out on top.
We expected to be Baker, but we'll see. And he
gets out there and you just had a perfect passer, right,
and he's throwing the ball all over the field, Mike
Evans God went. The energy he brings in an attitude
and the passion in which he plays with fires up
a team. And what Baker Mayfield's doing, I think it's

(16:01):
been unbelievable. I thought, going into New Orleans Saints with
a team that got car he was going to be
the one in the division as the new quarterback to
take it by storm. And it's been Baker Mayfield week
in and week out making plays.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
It'd be cool if you want it.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
I remember at NFL Honors he was there in the
theater for a Rookie of the Year and he lost
it to Saquon and I think, like Baker thought some
of them would win it.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
I'm actually out on this. I'm a big Baker guy, but.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
I actually philosophically have a problem a little bit with
the comeback Player of the Year being to a guy
who just moved teams and started playing better the context
of guys having serious injuries or even like beating cancer
and winning it. I like to go for the injury
players more, who are broken. Let me just float you one.
What if it's not decided yet, What if Aaron Rodgers
does play and the comeback player of the year is

(16:49):
within the same season. That's kind of unprecedented. If he
tears his achilles week one and then plays at the
end of the season and performs and lives.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
I feel like it goes to that, what would it
take one stamp one game?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
What would it be for you to be to start
a game?

Speaker 1 (17:05):
I think to start a game to back my modern
medicine and anticipations and everything set like some crazy precedent.
I think it's that, I really do, and I still
think it. I'm not my I still think it's going
to happen. I know it doesn't make sense and it's irresponsible.
I still think it's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
I enjoy your having to go down the injury pathway.
There has been a story that I think we tagged
that this person came out of the carpool pickup line
and returned to the locker room. If Joe Flacco wins
out with the Cleveland Browns, like, why can't it be Flacco?
This quarterback is thirty eight years old, he has old

(17:42):
he has the originator of the argument of is filling
the blank elite? For some reason, Joe Flacco got taken
down seventy two different times in his career. In the
argument of whether or not he is in the league quarterback.
If Joe Flacco was legitimately at Dunkin Donuts doing the
drop off, getting the call, signs with the Browns in November,
and does compete and does this way on a team

(18:02):
that has a plethora of other injuries in the most
important position on the team, and conducts his business this way,
I think it has to be Joe Flacco just because
of injury or not. He came from the Carporal pickup line.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
That's a great answer. Those are a great answers. I'm
gonna throw one more out there. It's I've been kind
of championing a lot of this year. Jenevian Clowney came
from the Ashes to one of the best pass rushers
in the league. Now, look again, not injury, but did
you realize Javian Cloudy the last couple of years has
played for Seattle. Remember that, remember that Tennessee Cleveland yep.

(18:34):
And of course he was on Houston and now he's
Baltimore Ravens. He's members the best pass rusher and he's
worning number twenty fourties dominating for the number one defense
in the AFC.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Just a thought, but those are four good options right there.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Do you remember when Joe Flacco was on the Eagles.
I barely remember that he was. That's a fact.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
He was.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
He was, he was an Eagle. It's a crazy thing
this year. No, a couple of years ago for the Jets,
I think so. And it was with the Jets twice. Okay,
that's this is the point.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
That's the point, right, incredible, Let's keep it in our
backyard here in New York. The New York Post last
week at this time had Tommy Davido on the front
cover and the back cover of its newspaper.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
It was all anyone was talking about. It was de
Vito hysteria.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
Then the Saints went out and snapped the Giants three
game win streak, and Tommy DeVito was sacked seven times,
he was knocked out of the game. It came back
three four hundred and seventy seven yards, didn't throw a touchdown.
Wasn't much to celebrate, however, the Saints players, they were
celebrating mightily.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
All of them doing this as the dance.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
Felt like this thing came crashing down. And yet Christmas Day,
Tommy DeVito takes on the Eagles for a national audience.
Here's our statement, Tommy Davidia, Tommy DeVito, Tommy DeVito Mania.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Still has some legs. Are we in it or we out?

Speaker 5 (19:46):
All?

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Right?

Speaker 7 (19:46):
You take an Alice humbling. There's reports that a pizzeria
wanted to bring you in and you doubled your price.
It was all type of stuff going on. Shots and
a family the agent, don't whole nine. It still has legs,
no shregs. On Christmas Day at home, the Philadelphia Eagles
just lost another game and they're coming to town. I

(20:09):
feel like throughout the entire week all I'm sorry, So
we'll go on the road to Philly. I feel like
this entire week all we're gonna be saying the DeVito
stuff is over. No one's gonna be talking about it.
And then his game time and he goes out there,
and if he starts to make a few plays, run
in a round. The next thing you know, we're all
going to be doing the same exact thing we did
a week well, putting our hand up in the air

(20:31):
talking about that, Tommy Davito showing the family in the
stands the whole nice. So I think it still has
legs because Tommy DeVito is still the starter some times.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Hell yes, it has legs. It's got incredible. Listen, he
could go to Philadelphia and lose. It's fine. When he
comes home the next week. The Giants fans won't have
seen him in a few weeks. They play the Rams
at home the second he completes the first passes day like.
They love it so much and the team isn't that good,
so it's what they had to be excited about. They
could lose that game and then the next game they

(21:01):
could Years from now, Tommy DeVito could surface it a
mall somewhere and they will go crazy. It is too
much of a connection. It is too much fun. And Peter,
that's the way you keep injecting into the show.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Because it's so fun. Peter loves it and we all
love it. It's pure fun.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
It's what we do here.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
So hell yes, it is legs.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
If the Philadelphia Eagles have any pride, any teeth left
in their bite, where does fun go to die? It
can be in Philadelphis, true, James, Tommy DeVito, I would
be very careful if I were you walking into a
very angry and very frustrated pissed off three time losers
Philadelphia Eagles in the last three weeks. A dangerous defense

(21:38):
is one that was just questioned of their commitment to
buy your quarterback if you will. I'm still not sure
where Jalen Hurts is going with that. I think the
mania should walk before it can run again when it
comes to Tommy DeVito, because I would look out if
I were him.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
Yeah, Giants are riding high last year with Daniel Jones.
They go into a playoff game. I think they were
down thirty at one points.

Speaker 7 (21:59):
But I'll tell you this.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
If the Vito gets up early and the Giants spoiled
the Eagles season and they come back home to play
the Rams on New Year's Eve, can you imagine the scene?

Speaker 4 (22:09):
And then they played the Eagles again, the Eagles again
at home in the year.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
I don't think that DiMaggio Jeter vetod Veto.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
You know, I'm not done yet, Eyther.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
We'll see.

Speaker 6 (22:22):
It was bad on Sunday. Not for him, that sack
seven times. It felt like the balloon was Shugos.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Who has the better quarterback in that game? Who would
you say, I'm just messing with you guys. You got
three in a row your Philly take it.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
We were in playoff picture class right now, the teacher
would say, everyone on your syllabus turned to the number
two seeded teams as they are taking on each other
in the AFC and the NFC on Christmas Eve. I'm
talking about the Dallas Cowboys and don't say it, another
game on the road, but this time they have to
go to Miami. What would a win over the Cowboys

(23:01):
mean for the Dolphins?

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Face?

Speaker 7 (23:02):
You know, it's so fun about this. You just the
Cowboys have to go on a roll, and we've talked
about them and how they can't do that. But also
for the Miami Dolphins. They're now playing a team with
a winning record, and the Dolphins at ten and four,
we continue all of us poking holes at them because
you continue to find something whether it's like, all right,
they're ten and one against teams that are five hundred

(23:23):
or below, but they're have not beaten a team with
a winning record owing three so far on the season.
That was the Bills, the Chiefs, and the Eagles. They
all fell sure to and then Tyreek Hill gets hurt
against the Tennessee Titans and it's just like, well, this
offense just looked terrible. Without Tyreek Hill. They couldn't move
the ball, they couldn't do anything. Then they played the
Jets this past week. They go, they put thirty points

(23:44):
on the Jets, a really good defense without Tyreek Hill.
TWOA can't throw the ball deep. He's throwing it deep
to Jayleen Waddle and then he's mocking everybody. He's doing
to talk to me with his hands and he said
it could mean anything, and we all know what it means.
There's so many naysayers that no matter what this Dolphins
team does at ten and four, we continue to find
reasons of why they can't beat the team in the NFL,

(24:06):
or win a Super Bowl and things of that nature.
They can win this game against the Dallas Cowboys. It
will be the first time beating a winning football team,
it will be at home, and I think it just
propels them, obviously to a game with the Baltimore Ravens.
That means so much. But I think on top of that,
it silenced some of the talk about the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills have been hot and we continue to say
they're coming storming in. We're talking about them possibly winning

(24:29):
the division. With this last game, of the season being
matched up against the Miami Dolphins. I think for a
week at Conn of Science, is that because we start
to looking like, well, maybe this Miami Dolphins team is
for real and they can get it done.

Speaker 6 (24:42):
I look at this Dolphins team and they win thirty
to nothings, so on paper, you're like, all right, they're back.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
They are also so.

Speaker 6 (24:49):
Banged up right now. I need to see what version
we're getting on Sunday. Are we getting Kyreek Hill against
dron Bland and the dan Quinn defense. Are we getting
Austin Jackson, the offensive tackle who left during the Jets game.

Speaker 11 (25:02):
Are we getting Zavid Howard higher secondary? Are we getting
Javon Holland are we getting Deshaun Elliott. It's almost like
we look at the score thirty or nothing to beat
the Jets, all right, the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
They played the Jets with an arm behind their back,
tied behind their back.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
So the Dolphins win would be enormous, but almost like,
who's on the field?

Speaker 4 (25:24):
What are we getting?

Speaker 6 (25:24):
Because I think Miami, if they're gonna compete in the
AFC playoffs, they're gonna need all those guys. And that's
the version of the Dolphins that's gonna be able to
contend for a super Bowl if they go win with
half of those players, or if you know, Howard's down
and Tyreek might play, but then we don't have Deshaun
Elliott or Javon Holland. They're serious questions, and then we're
gonna all do rush to judgment and say, well, they

(25:46):
lost to another good team.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
That was it.

Speaker 6 (25:47):
Like the Cowboys are are coming in and they know
they need to win. The Dolphins are an absolute mass
unit right now. If they can win despite those injuries,
well I might be putting my eggs in their basket
and saying, okay, well they've overcome some things here.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Maybe that Tennessee loss was a fluke.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
Maybe that Tennessee loss was something that happens in a
season and that woke them up. But gosh, they need
to get healthy and they need to get those guys
back on the field.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Thirty to nothing win or not, that was cool. Everyone
stepped up.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
They're not competing with the Ravens, the Chiefs and the
rest of those guys without Holland, without Howard, and of.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
Course without Tyreek.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
In a way, that Bills did them a disservice by
destroying the Cowboys by so much because they lowered the
Cowboys stock. Is if the Dolphins beat the Cowboys, some
will say, yeah, but the Cowboys are trash.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Now you still haven't beat anyone, which is ridiculous. The
health thing.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Sure, it's just Tyreek, Tyrek Tyreek is he playing? I
think he is the most important non quarterback in the league.
I think he's more important than McCaffrey. I think is
more important than Kelsey, all those. In fact, the way
backup puorteracks are playing this year, he might be one
of the most important players in general. It's that important.
So I still don't know what we're doing with him.
If you remember the last time we saw him, leaves

(26:52):
the game, stands around for ninety minutes, comes back, is productive,
and it doesn't play. So it's not a cataclysmic injury,
of course, but these are huge games for him and
I as much as we as fans want to see
the Miami Super Bowl meaning Bills Dolphins in Week eighteen,
I don't think the Dolphins want to see that. They
want to be able to chill. And the Bills lost
a couple of games and we went out and let's

(27:14):
rest everybody.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
They don't want that.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
I asked you, Jason, so thirty to nothing. Was the
defense that good and that inspired or was it the
Jets offense is that bad?

Speaker 7 (27:23):
That's a shutout. Both the defense played really well and
it's an NFL team, But we've watched the Jets offense
with Trevor Simmey and I'm not gonna sit there and
say no, the Jets offense was unbelievable, but what was
impressive They put up thirty points to Jets defense is
really good, sir. So then with al Tyreek Hill still
being able to be productive, but the Jets offense is terrible.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Kyle, you mentioned a couple of times in your take
the elephant in the room or the bill in the
room when it comes to this matchup this weekend between
the Cowboys and the Dolphins, and the fact that the
Dolphins have to deal with not only a Cowboys from
coming into town, but a surging Bills team. Is the
Dolphins are still somehow in a race for the East
despite Buffalo Buffalo stumbling earlier this season. As we take

(28:03):
a look at what Miami and Buffalo have left to
deal with on the rest of their schedules. All right, So,
we see it. Dolphins, it is formidable. You host the Cowboys,
you go to Baltimore, and then you host the Bills. Bills,
we'll see cross country trips are tough. Josh Allen likes
to watch the movies on the way they are and
on the way back, and then the Pats and of
course that Week eighteen matchup that could be the NBC

(28:26):
Sunday Night Flex game because it could have such major impact.
Concerned with the Dolphins and the surging Bills, anyone at
the table buy into that.

Speaker 7 (28:35):
No, because if you're on the Miami Dolphins, like the
Buffalo Bills they're way up there, Like, we're not worried
about them up in Western New York because what we've
done so far in the season allows us to control
our own destiny. Yes, the Buffalo Bills, they're coming, they're
playing well. But if you just continue to win your
football games, you'll go into that last one against the
Buffalo Bills and you're like, all right, we win this game,
we'll be all right. I think it's for the Buffalo

(28:56):
Bills are a team that's concerned with others because the
only outside looking in. Then you have to continue to
win and then things have to fall in the right
place for them to be able to get into the dance.
If I'm the Miami Dolphins, we don't have time to
be concerned about them. Let's just kiss stay concerned about ourselves.
Shrikes to your point, Let's stay concerned about our health,
getting our guys out there on the field, because if
we go out there and we played away, we know
that we're capable of and we win football games. We

(29:18):
don't have to worry about who's surging behind us. We
can start to look at everything that's in front of us.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
If the playoffs already started for them, like they it
started for them, they had to win last week against
the Jets. If they lost against the Jets, suddenly the
world is melting and everything's coming on an end.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
And look at this schedule, that's.

Speaker 7 (29:32):
A big one.

Speaker 6 (29:32):
You can say they've got the Cowboys and the Ravens
the next two weeks. Like I don't think they're thinking
about the Bills.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
They've got to.

Speaker 6 (29:39):
Get the Cowboys in the Ravens games. And you know
what's interesting is the Ravens they play the forty nine
ers this week, and so forget the Bills. In the rearview,
Dolphins could be looking at the one seed. So if
the Dolphins can take care of their business, there is
a very very good chance. And the Dolphins could not
only be hosting the AFC Championship game, but they can

(29:59):
have a buy in two playoff games in their own building,
which I think we've talked about. This is huge advantage.
That stadium is hot, the sun is different. The way
it comes down visiting teams hate playing in Miami. It's
not the cold weather thing that we usually here in January.
It's that hot weather that teams aren't conditioned for. So
to me, I'm not worried about Buffalo. I'm worried about
taking care of business at thinking on the positive, Hey,

(30:21):
we control our own destiny in a lot of ways.
If the Ravens don't beat the forty nine ers this weekend,
well suddenly the number one seed in a real path
to the super Bowl is in our hands.

Speaker 7 (30:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Also, I think even if the game was this weekend,
I don't think they're concerned or afraid of the Bills.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
These are division rivals who played heated games.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
They've beaten these Bills, they've beaten been beaten by these
This feels like an NBA rivalry, like, oh, boll Pistons back.
They a lot of familiarity, a lot of chirping. Like
even if they do lose one or two and they
have to welcome the Bills week eighteen, they're not afraid.
They're not intimidating in any way. You know, I hate
assuming wins. It's hard for us to because we're all
looking at Week eighteen, and I would love to say

(31:01):
that I'm concerned about the Bills going to the Chargers Saturday.
It's week they have a new coach, the new coach.
If Herbert was there, i'd be concerned. I mean, it's
the Charges. Thing was so bad last week. But we
all kind of just decided, I'll speak for everyone. As
fans of the game, you look at that Week eighteen
game and you're like, oh.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
That'll be so fun. It would just be so cool.
As a fan.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
If you're the Dolphins, you're like, screw that, we're gonna
beat Dallas, We're gonna beat Baltimore and Buffalo. Isn't all
that they're gonna lose one of these games. It's not
gonna matter that much. We want it as a president,
because just the matchup.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Is so good and I love I said it yesterday.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
I hope it's one hundred and fifty degrees and the
Bills just have to deal with it. But if you're
the Dolphins, like, let's not even let it get to that.
Let's start now.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
I love playing how we look at this picture because
we have like this great invasion from of us on
the AFC. If the Bills could just jump up to seven,
let's say, and the Dolphins hang it to that means
in back to back weeks, the Bills stay.

Speaker 6 (31:50):
In Miami back to back years, they play them in
the Wildcard round and they take three times.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
You want to talk about a real.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
Rivalry, right, but to open to close your season that
way and then what you're gonna stay down there all week?
Like I guess that's one way to get acclimated.

Speaker 6 (32:02):
Let me ask you, guys, who do you think wants
to see the Bills less? Would it be the Dolphins
or the Chiefs? Is a two seed seeing the Bills
come in at seven and knowing that the Bills that
had said success at Arrowhead?

Speaker 4 (32:11):
Who or who?

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Who?

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Does you know what I'm talking about? Right?

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Like?

Speaker 4 (32:15):
Dolphins like Bills.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
Is like, oh god, I don't want to play our
rivals every but then the Chiefs, you see Josh Allen
coming into the arrowhead again some scars.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
The Bills have beaten both teams this year, and they
Bills don't have a ton of wins, but they've beaten
both those teams. I think if you're the Chiefs, I
think you would you would be more annoyed and disappointed
to see them because the Chiefs team is not great
right now and Allen is really good in that stadium.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I'd rather welcome to Miami. I feel good about that.

Speaker 7 (32:39):
I agree into your point division robberies like Miami Buffalo.
We know each other like there's no surprises that we
know each other. I know the Chiefs and the Bills
have played a lot as of late, but two three
times a year is totally different.
