Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's Good Morning Football. It's a Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
We're working our way through the week in the offseason.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
We're in LA. We're in New York City.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
We got Jason Covinda, Kyle Brandt, Jamie ear On, Manti
Taloe as well. We got you covered from the Jets
to a recently retired player, Kyle.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
It is a jam packed hour. Are you ready?

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
We got a very very famous retired player who we
have some thoughts on, some questions for. We got props,
we got whiteboards, we got Cabindo, we got Taale, we
got ard All, we got it all.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
It's Good Morning Football.

Speaker 6 (00:41):
Start the show, Good Morning Football.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
It is GMFB on a Wednesday. White Forward Wednesday. That's
what we're looking forward to. Jason Covinda joining us from Florida.
Kyle Brant is in New York City, Mansito, jamieartt All,
we sit here in LA.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Let's get right to it.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Because the Jets continue to show us headline worthy news
that make us.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Say, are we supposed to take the Jets seriously?

Speaker 5 (01:17):
This year?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
They're demanding it practically with the investment that they're putting
in their young players, We've a lot of people flirted
with taking them seriously at twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
It did not deliver.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
But now they've locked down their lockdown corner Sauce Gardner,
with the New York Jets agreeing to a new extension
with the player four years just over one hundred and
twenty million dollars, making him the highest paid cornerback in
NFL history, making him a corner stone in this defense
four years to come. Derek Singley, Junior, j C. Horn,

(01:47):
Jalen Ramsey, Patzertan's Defensive Player of the Year, the raining
out of the Denver Broncos defense.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Those guys all are.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Hitting paid a handsome penny, but now Sauce tops the
list entering the twenty twenty five season. So we look
at what moves the Jets have made with Garrett Wilson,
their young wide receiver earlier this week, and now considering
Sauce Gardner. Our thoughts hearing this news yesterday that he
has become the highest paid cornerback ever. Mantai, is this
justified in the Jets decision?

Speaker 7 (02:13):
I think it is justified, Jamie, and you use this
term cornerstone. It seems like they've signed both of their
cornerstone players in this week's news. But what I do
think is Number one, congratulations to Sauce. You know, as
a player, I know that you worked so hard to
have had this day happened.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
So congratulations to you. But I also think it's such.

Speaker 7 (02:33):
A smart signing by Aaron Glenn and what they're doing
over there at the Jets to sign Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
And Sauce Gardener.

Speaker 7 (02:39):
We saw a couple of years ago when Hart Knox
was over there, just a competition and what that.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Sparked, what that looked like.

Speaker 7 (02:46):
And if you are Aaron Glenn and that Jets franchise,
you want to have your two cornerstones on the field,
on the practice field doing what they do, competing and
sending that precedence for everybody else in the locker room.
Right now, Jamie knows this. We're potted training my son,
no boy, and me and my wife of a thing
where if he goes potty in the toilet, we celebrate

(03:08):
this guy like I give him it.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Dryde Mangoes, Blueberris, whatever.

Speaker 7 (03:12):
You're gonna get exactly what you want if you do
what you're told. I think this is what Aaron Glenn
has been doing with the Jets franchises.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
If you do what you're.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
Supposed to do, if you produce, if you behave, you're
going to get rewarded.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
We are going to reward you.

Speaker 7 (03:26):
I think that is such a smart thing with Aaron
Glenn going into his first year with with the with
the Jets, and what a way to start by signing
the two corner stores of cornerstones of his franchise to
these long term deals.

Speaker 8 (03:37):
Yeah, you know, I think.

Speaker 9 (03:38):
I really love this side for the Jets. Sauce has
obviously been a great player since the day he stepped
foot in that Jets uniform. But I think this contract
says more about the league and where it's going.

Speaker 10 (03:48):
Necesarily than how great of a player, you know, Sauce
Gardner is.

Speaker 9 (03:52):
It just feels like every new contract we've been seeing
these last couple offseasons.

Speaker 10 (03:55):
Like most high Speed in this position, high Speed Decision
Tree Smith the other day as well.

Speaker 9 (04:02):
I think it speaks to a lot of how big
our sport is getting and how much it is growing,
how much the TV.

Speaker 10 (04:08):
Money is coming in, and how the caps of the
teams each and every year are going up and up
and up.

Speaker 9 (04:14):
So you know, I think he just says a lot
about the growth of our sport and how much money
we're bringing in that a guy like soft Goring in
just three years to do his career is signing a
contract of this magnitude. So I think it's awesome for
the sport. I think it's awesome for the New York Jets.
He's obviously a corner piece, like you said, Matt time
this team, and I'm looking forward to continue to seesawt
Row his role and get better and better as he

(04:36):
becomes the better in this league.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I agree, couldn't have said it better. He has been
growing and getting better. I'm also just happy for the
Tail family and their potty training. And imagine you imagine
getting rewarded if you work and you get on the
potty and your reward is some dried mango.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
You got to do things differently.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
If my kid would get fifty TOTSI rolls and a
PlayStation five, I don't even care if he can play
it dried mango and blueberries the one and I wonder
they're going to the bathroom.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
It works, getting its tail. It's part of the brother
part of the plan had some cats in there.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I'm impressed. I'm impressed, all right, So I to the
topic at hand. First of all, happy for the Jets,
Happy for both the players that they've signed in this offseason.
It's a really really cool thing when the guys you
draft turn out to be something good. I just have
to know what's next now, all right, because you don't
get any credit for signing players in the win column.
You don't get any parades. And I go back to

(05:29):
these photographs. Let's go back and look at these two players,
Garrett and Sauce, who will always be linked. And this
is an NFL honors after their rookie year. And this
was the coolest Jets moment in a long time, because,
oh my god, they swept the Rookie of the Year,
they got the offense prookiear the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
And that is tremendous credit to them. In the NFL draft,
which is a very difficult thing that so many people

(05:51):
mess up. They stuck the landing that year and they
got those two guys. Since that photograph was taken, the
Jets are twelve and twenty two. They've won twelve games,
and they've lost twenty two since.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
That photographs had taken. The coach is.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Gone, the GM is gone, all the coordinators are gone.
They've finished third behind the Dolphins and the Bills two
years in a row, and still the last Jets playoff
one was when both those guys holding those trophies were
in fifth grade. I'm glad that they have a very
good corner and I'm glad that they have a very
good receiver. Do we have anything even approaching a good quarterback?
Because in the time since those pictures were taken, NFL

(06:30):
honors Zach Wilson, Mike White, Joe Flaco, Chris Drevler, Trevor
Simmy and Tim Boyle, Aaron Rodgers, and now Justin Fields.

Speaker 10 (06:37):
Is he gonna actually do anything? Are we gonna win here?

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Because as much as I like seeing Garrett, Wilson and
Sauce holding those Rookie of the Year trophies, it's been
a few years now. I would love to see them
holding some T shirts at the end of the season
that maybe say, oh, Division champs, or just a Turkey
leg or a Netflix jacket or just anything after a game.
Can you have a conversation with Tracy Wolfson after a

(07:01):
game that matters that you won. They're three and seven
in primetime since those pictures were taken, So listen, great,
you stuck the land in a few years ago.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
You signed your players.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I need to see some sort of progress, anything other
than we signed guys and then we're paying them a
lot of money and they're good. We've had those guys.
We know what they're like on the field. We know
what you're like with them on the field. I can't
do backflips here in New York City because Sauce and
Garrett are signed. I'll do backflips when they're actually playing
the game that matters in December and it's really time,

(07:33):
So great job.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
I hate to be such.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
A cynic, but it's really time to start winning with
those guys now that you're paying them.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
I don't think it's based in cynicism. If what you're
saying is in primetime, the Jets are three and seven,
and the fact that the headlines and what they asked
for and signing Aaron Rodgers and bringing in some of
these stars and DeVante Adams, they under delivered in a
year last year where they were overhyped to the max,
people having them winning the division. Rogers was an MVP.
This is what people expected of this team. So perhaps

(08:00):
twenty twenty five is a little bit more comfortable, Kyle,
and that they are under hyped and they are hoping
to be over delivered in the where they are expected
to rank. Kyle, you just mentioned it perfectly. The New
York City aspect of this. You are, you live in
north of Manhattan. You are well amongst Giants.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Fans, Jets fan. What's the what are the newspapers like?
What are people saying?

Speaker 3 (08:21):
It feels like the Dandy, the diaper Dandy is the Giants,
the one that the feel good story.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
What are people saying about the Jets.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Well, I'm looking at the New York Post here and
it's here we got a big picture of Sauce. Here
it says green Peace. New extension means the world the
wide Receiver.

Speaker 10 (08:37):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I think Garrett Wilson's really likable. I think Sauce is
really likable. So I think it's very positive. Right now
it's July. But you know, this week one they come
out and Sauce gets beat deep for a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
He's going to be torched in.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
This paper I think the same feelings of your question,
Jamie is.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
I say this all the time.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Good Morning Football is going into its tenth NFL season
this fall. We have never had a good Jets or
Giants team like oh for twenty combined. It's really really time.
So who does New York want to win? The Jets
or the Giants? Yes, anybody please, And I'm with them.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (09:13):
I think Also the positive thing KB is exactly what
you just illustrated there. The expectation for them going into
this year with all of these changes is relatively low,
and that's such a contrast to what we've experienced the
past few years.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
When they signed Robert.

Speaker 7 (09:26):
Sala, who is one of the best defensive coordinators in
the league for the forty nine ers, he comes over,
there's this expectation that's.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
Built, and you got Aaron Rodgers. DeVante Adams comes over.

Speaker 7 (09:35):
So now this narrative starts going, and I think for
Jets fans, we're like, we've seen this movie before, and
I think that works well with what Aaron Glenn is
trying to do with that franchise. They're under the radar
right now for the first time in a long time,
I think, and so it's going to the expectation isn't
going to be there for them to have to live
up to. And now they're coming into this year as

(09:57):
almost an underdog or somebody that's not.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
Really talked to. And if you're a team that's.

Speaker 7 (10:01):
Building and in your first year with a first year
head coach, no one cat going into a season.

Speaker 11 (10:06):
Yeah, I think when you when you look at his
Jets team, but you look at the Sauce Gardner contract,
you look at Passer Tain a year or two ago,
who's now the fifth highest paid corner. Teams are starting
to get the trend of doing early extensions and paying
their guys when they need to be paid, And now
the Passer teen contract is looking like more of a
bargain being the fifth highest paid corner when we know
past Curtain is arguably probably the best corner in the

(10:29):
league right now. You look at this defense you mentioned
Rob sla like they're still playing with that same attitude
that Rob instilled in them. You got Quincy Williams and
Keenan Williams over down the middle. That linebacker in the
middle you got not even they brought over from Kansas
City was an absolute run stuffer.

Speaker 10 (10:45):
He walks away.

Speaker 9 (10:45):
This team rushes are the passer Will McDonald and Jermaine Johnson, Like,
these guys get after it. So between that marrying the
rush with the coverage. Michael Carter the second the best
nickel corner in the league right now in my opinion.
And then you look at Justin Fields. He's got some weapons. Now,
Mason Taylor Gartlson just got paid. Josh Well is the

(11:06):
possession receiver. Like, this isn't just a team that looks
good on paper. This is a team that looks good
piod at a story. And then when you match that
up with the schedule that the Jets have, which I
think is just a mid schedule. I got this team
and go on tennant seven borderline probably playing the off
so we'll see if they can.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Make a run out.

Speaker 10 (11:21):
But this good team and not just on paper book,
but for real.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
All right, all right, I extations.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Now you just said I think it was the Aaron Glenn.
I think he has an Aaron Glenn. He's being convinced
by the new head coach as he should. Absolutely all right,
coming up on JMF. Lane Johnson, what's happening with Lane Johnson?

Speaker 7 (11:43):
MANI there's a lot of things, and there's a lot
of weights on the stuff that he's pulling nowadays.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Jeeves, he's working at Oh my lord, looked at this
at all stop at Lane Johnson. We've just had him
on last week, Kyle. I bet you know who else
could do that, Kyle, our guest that's coming on this hour.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah, maybe our guest or maybe Cobnda carrying the weight
of the jets going ten and seven this here we'll
find out. We have Indamic and Sue joining the show
and Dominic and Sue s u h. He just recently
announced his retirements. Incredible long career with all kinds of
interesting stuff going on.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Mister Sue joins the show. Don't go in here. We
got a lot of questions for him. Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
We are coming up in the world on Whiteboard Wednesday.
I just have to brag to Kyle Brant real quick.
Look at how the Arts and Crafts Department treats us
in New York City. You know how we always have
to do a reveal, Kyle. We are now laminated with
popsicle sticks. We are no longer going to struggle with
the paper erasing our answer. Okay, so look at that
it's Whiteboard Wednesday, and it never has to touch the whiteboard.

(12:54):
We are so fancy get in here. When you come
to LA you're gonna think it's such a treat. Okay,
first up on Whiteboard Wednesday. Three topics. We had a
discussion yesterday with Willie Cologne about Jayalen Hurst being underrated,
and Willy had this to say about the Eagles quarterback.

Speaker 12 (13:09):
I'm sitting here kind of scratching my head, like, why
do we keep moving the goldposts when it comes to
Jalen Hurts, right, because he has the numbers in the
regular season, he has the numbers in the playoffs. He
delivers time at the time in big moments when every
other quarterback around you talk about Lamar Jackson against Buffalo,
get it done, you talk about Josh.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
Allen be Joe Burrow. There was one guy walking around the.

Speaker 12 (13:30):
NFL that said that could beat Patrick Mahomes, and that
was Joe Burrow. Can't find her right now, because even
though you can throw forty touchdowns, front can't find his
way into the playoffs. So I'm saying to myself, why
aren't we giving Jalen Hurts his flowers?

Speaker 3 (13:43):
That's a great question, And If that's Willie's guy, then
here comes a question for Whiteboard Wednesday. Who is another
player that doesn't get enough respect? Man Ti the way
that Willie is explaining Jalen Hurts well.

Speaker 7 (13:56):
In the past few weeks, we talked a lot about
Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, and heck, we talked about George Pickens.
But this is a receiver in the league that guys
he needs more respect. Okay, Mike Evans for the Tama
Bay Buccaneers, like when you talk about one of the
most underappreciated guys in this league. Later in this show,
we're going to talk about an all time list by
one of the all time greats.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
This guy is on an all time great list. Okay.

Speaker 7 (14:18):
He has eleven consecutive one thousand yard seasons. That's second
to only one person, Jerry Rice. He had He's one
of four players has twelve thousand yards and at least
one hundred touchdowns and eleven seasons. There's only four people
that have done it him Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison, and
Randy Moss.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Just those four guys.

Speaker 10 (14:37):
But we don't talk about.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Him a lot. For whatever reason you want, we just don't.

Speaker 7 (14:41):
Talk about him and talk about being paid as far
as a wide receiver. Okay, he is the twentieth highest
paid wide receiver in the NFL. So talk about somebody
who needs more respect and I should get more money
as Mike Evans. But knowing Mike Evans, cabindo, he's never
going to ask for it. All he wants to do
is win and Stackonvin yards. So Cobindo, I think the

(15:01):
guy that needs most respect is Mike Evans.

Speaker 8 (15:04):
Man Tile, I know you know this guy, and that's
crazy because he's from the exact same team I got
Levonte Davis loschbacker Tampa Bay.

Speaker 9 (15:16):
This guy has been i mean almost ten consecutive seasons
at one hundred plus tackle and he's a.

Speaker 10 (15:22):
Type of linebacker that does it in every single way.

Speaker 9 (15:25):
I mean thirty nine career sacks, thirteen interceptions, thirty one
forced fumbles.

Speaker 10 (15:30):
I mean, he's a tackle machine, he's a turnover machine.

Speaker 9 (15:33):
And really, just because of the fact that guys like
Fred the Fred Warner, the rope Bawn Smiths of the world,
we simply just don't talk about this guy enough.

Speaker 10 (15:41):
I mean, just been super consistent. He's a three time
All Pro and he just does it all, doesn't say anything.

Speaker 9 (15:47):
He just goes out there and he's just consistent, game
after game, year after year. So I think a guy
really deserves a lot more credit, a lot more expective.

Speaker 10 (15:56):
We should talk about a lot more. Levonte David.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
He does it all. Two good names.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I do not have a Tampa Bay buccaneer, but I
have someone who I don't know if it's going to
surprise you or not. Was really impressed last year with
Jerry Judy from the Cleveland Browns. He had an incredible
season on a miserable Browns team, catching passes with everyone
from Deshaun Watson to Bailey's Zappi.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
You can look it up.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
He had a twelve hundred yard season, again on a
very bad team that was not only bad, but dysfunctional
and broken.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
I get that it didn't work out in Denver, like
it was.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Supposed to a lot of guys. After that happens, they
just melt the way and they're out of the league.
He never hear from him again. Jerry Judy showed up
last year and was the best offensive player for the
Browns by far.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
I like the way he handed himself.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
He kind of shut his mouth and went to work
after going through a lot of crap coming out of Denver.
Respect it, and I think he's gonna have another good
year this year. I don't know who that was gonna
be thrown on the ball, but Jerry Judy last year
her bounce back year, and I respect that from a
guy Jerry Judy, Cleveland Browns who knew.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
I see another T shirt in the making.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
The quarterbacks who have thrown to Jerry Judy, and it'll
be a long list, Kyle, It's good answer. Next up,
we had this video of Lane Johnson, and Lane Johnson
put it out yesterday on social media of him carrying
seven hundred and five pounds like it's a camp back.
He just puts it on his shoulders. He's like, here
I go. I got my water bottle in my lunch pack.
But it's a casual seven oh five. The player or

(17:12):
coach that you would love to see compete in the
World's Strongest Man contest Mantai is this should.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
Be the Tempa Bay Buccaneer segment because I'm going to
stay with it.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
You're making it.

Speaker 7 (17:23):
Yeah, guys, Vita Vea, when I choose you to be
the one hundred humans that will beat the one gorilla
you are. In this conversation of the World's Strongest Man contest,
the guy had forty one reps at the combine. On
the bench press forty one. The first thirty looked like
he was throwing up the bar like the guy is
just strong. And if you don't believe me, he is
the highest ranked guy on Madden when it comes to strength.

(17:46):
He's a ninety eight on Madden. So Madden thinks he's
the strongest. I think he's the strongest. And Bucks fans,
I know Jason Cabinda has seen this guy not only
toss weight around, but toss lineman around for a long time.
And to your point, Cobinda, you had Levonte David Levante.
Davis is able to do what he's able to do
because of this big dude in the middle named Viata Bell.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Saw.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
I got vit Ta Bell as the strongest dude.

Speaker 10 (18:10):
I got another great.

Speaker 9 (18:11):
Name we haven't heard in a while, man, I got
ren Sheet Incognita.

Speaker 10 (18:18):
This dude, bro, This dude was an absolute bull legging
ox man.

Speaker 9 (18:23):
I'll tell you what, Ritchie and Cognito is probably part
of one of my Welcome to the NFL moments. I
remember coming in my rookie years thinking about a come downhill,
big ten linebacker. I know all about stopping to run.
I remember we had an inside zone run period. Ritchie
and Cognito hit the defensive tackle and he came to
climb up to me, the linebacker. And when I tried

(18:43):
to shed this block, when I say, I tried to
shed him with all of my might.

Speaker 10 (18:48):
And you know, man Ty, these better than linemen, they
hold a little bit. But when I say, I used
all of my body, all the torque that I had to.

Speaker 9 (18:54):
Try to get this guy off of me, and absolutely
nothing I couldn't.

Speaker 10 (18:58):
Get off of him.

Speaker 9 (18:59):
For the strongest hands I've ever had on my chest
with the Richie Incognito, he is super strong.

Speaker 10 (19:05):
I've seen him bench a ton of weight in the
weight room. And also, Richie is a great dude.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Man.

Speaker 10 (19:10):
I had a lot of great locker room conversations with Ritchie. Awesome,
awesome guy, very interesting dude. I want to put that
out there as well.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yeah, I hear that Richie stepped in a lot of
infaminous career conflicted opinions about him. But I've heard a
lot of his teammates who have spoken up for him
and say he's glad, we were glad he's on our team.
And certainly really strong guy, really good offensive lineman. I
miss the world's strongest man. I don't even know if
they still do it. I just remember, like in college,
you would pass out on the couch and wake up
at two in the morning and he would be on
ESPN two and it be some guy named Magnus from

(19:38):
Iceland pulling a bus with his teeth.

Speaker 10 (19:40):
This is awesome.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
You guys named two really strong guys. I'm sorry to
tell you though, like it's both of them are going
to lose to mind. I don't know if you've heard
of this player. It's a local player for New York Giants.
It's a Roosby running.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
Back, Cam Skataboo.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
And this showed up at the New York studios here.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
This is a fan name, Cam Scattaboo. Sure this is
not mine.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
I didn't make this homage, didn't make this is not
official because, as I always say, you got to.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
Earn the shirt.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
But they made an Arizona State one, they made a
Giants one. He's got the scepter, he's got forty four.
He's already having people make and send merchandise in the
show's name. And he hasn't even taken his first snap yet.
You're gonna take that New York Giants bus. He's gonna
put it in his teeth, and he's gonna crawl on
the ground like Magnus Scataboo, and he's gonna be the

(20:28):
world's strongest man in New York.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
Go Giants Go.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
They're already sending me merch It's never happened with anybody.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
I got one question, KP, I just got one. How
come it is not on you right now?

Speaker 7 (20:37):
I thought I expected you're talking about T shirts. I
expected when you came in this morning, right I know
you're locked into the show, but when you saw that
Cam Scatabou shirt, now you're like, screw this Polo. I'm
putting on the Camp Scataboo anger and shirt.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Great question.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
I can answer that, man, SI.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
You know how sometimes they'll be like hockey players who
are like, I don't want to touch the Stanley Cup
until I win it. That is not a real shirt.
When Cam Scatabu wins Anger runs Week one of this season,
I will make the real shirt.

Speaker 10 (21:05):
I will wear it. You will wear it.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Will all wear it and when he wins week two
and week three and week four. But until then, this
is a very nice, well intended garment. But it's a fugazy,
angry run shirt. And I can show it to you,
but I will not wear it until he wins it
for real.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Yep, Hockey's got a lot of things like that. It's like,
don't touch the symbol in the middle of the carpet of.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
Locker around, don't walk on they don't walk on it.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
That final topic for Wayboard Wednesday, Diehard, which is an
eighties classic, came out this week in nineteen eighty eight.
If you could only watch with your eyeballs peeled for
the rest of time, one single action thriller movie from
the eighties, Manti, what would your selection be? My God,
I've never thought of a more important question to know

(21:47):
about someone's personality than this one.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
Oh, you got to know everything about my personality, Jamie.
When everybody this before there.

Speaker 7 (21:52):
Was Narcos, there was Scarface, Okay, Like Scarface is one
of those those movies and Jason coopin that you know this,
like there's a movie that just gets you into this
mind frame in this mindset where you could run out
there on a kickoff and just on full speed into somebody.
Scarface was one of those movies, and for me, one
of my favorite scenes is when Tony is with Manny
in the car and they just left us dance and

(22:13):
Manny goes, you should be grateful for what you got.
Antony goes me, I want what's coming for me? And
he's like, well, what's coming for you? He said, the
world Chico and everything in it. Like that stuff to me,
guys just gets me so gigged up. At four o'clock
in the morning, we're like ready to go for a GMFP.
So it's got to be Scarface.

Speaker 10 (22:33):
That's a good choice, man, time love Scarface. I'm gonna
go little left Fieldy. I'm gonna go with Predator.

Speaker 9 (22:40):
The first time I saw Preditor, and I mean Schwarzeneger obviously,
Arnold the absolute dog.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
You see the.

Speaker 10 (22:48):
Muscles, you see with the guns out. You know, I'm
from Rambo. All that just a really really cool movie,
really exciting. I mean, it's just all about that complete machalness.

Speaker 9 (22:58):
I mean, when we play football from our young age,
we have that macho mentality about us.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
And this is kind of.

Speaker 10 (23:04):
And it's one of those movies that this really puts
you in your masculinity, puts.

Speaker 9 (23:07):
You in your you know, makes you want to throw
the path on, makes you want to go and listen.

Speaker 10 (23:11):
To Army and go, you know, kind of make some
stuff happen. So I'm gonna go a pretator, my guy,
Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
It's a fantastic answer.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
The baby oil budget on that movie was afterno a
lot of that. It was basically a superhero movie. You
had the Terminator, Apollo, Creed, Jesse, the Body. A lot
of people don't know the first actor hired to play
the Predator was Jean Claude van dam Like. It was
an amazing, amazing, truly truly influential movie. And I love Predator.
And yet I'm going to a different direction. You gen

(23:39):
zers or whatever you call you, you TikTokers and all
you young guys, young girls, take a load of this
put In Roadhouse from nineteen eighty nine.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
It's gonna blow your mind.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
It is the story a classic archetype of an old
samurai who comes into a town to clean up that town.
It's starring Patrick swayzeing and possibly high waisted jeans doing
spin kicks. I can't even tell you how cool Sam
Elliott is in this. I can't even tell you how
bazy and incredibly attractive the small town doctor is. There
is a line of dialogue uttered by the villain about

(24:10):
his time in prison. It's nine words that are the
craziest nine words ever uttered on film. This film keeps
on giving, it keeps on surprising. It's laugh out loud,
it's great action. You'll laugh, you'll cry. Roadhouse nineteen ninety nine,
signed the late great Patrick Swayze, who dings my Top
five like three different times with three different movies, and

(24:31):
Roadhouse is certainly in there. So you young guys, young girls,
check out Roadhouse. It's an insane film and I love it.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Dearly Kyle.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
It's not the first time you've described Roadhouse on the show,
and it certainly won't be the last. However, every time
you utter its descriptions, somehow you come up with something new,
and for this one, my favorite line was impossibly high
waisted genes, which absolutely tracks with the TikTok generation.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
So well done.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
If that doesn't get them to watch Roadhouse circa nineteen
eighty nine, I don't know what does well done, my friend.
That was Whiteboard Wednesday. Perhaps my thriller video of today
would be watching Jason Cabinda prepare for Whiteboard Wednesday, because Cabinda,
are you okay?

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Like, are let's go?

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Are you trying to set up here?

Speaker 5 (25:14):
What are we?

Speaker 2 (25:15):
What are we stressed about?

Speaker 9 (25:16):
Man?

Speaker 10 (25:17):
I got the ring light back there? I mean, oh man,
oh no, let's just again. Forgot the white board for
Whiteboard Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Miss all of the place, guys, and he never blinked once.
Where your lighting looks great? You sound perfect?

Speaker 3 (25:30):
That was Whiteboard Wednesday and a great thriller of twenty
twenty five. We have a guest coming up in Domak
and Sue. We believe he is waiting in the wings.
He recently retired. We're going to review his career and
talk about what's next. We're one of the most infamous
players coming off the line defensively and in the league.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
We're going to talk to Sue. Mister Sue, as Kyle
called the.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Next football It was really cool. It's a household NFL name.
He is a five time port bowler, three time first
team All Pro. He's also a Super Bowl champion, and

(26:13):
recently he decided to hang up the cleats and we've
got him, We've watched him.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
We can't wait to talk to him. Please welcome and DOMINICANSU.

Speaker 10 (26:21):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Yeah, we start with this kind of melancholy news that
you have announced your retirement.

Speaker 5 (26:31):
How do you feel? Does it feel final? Where's your
head right now?

Speaker 9 (26:34):
Man?

Speaker 4 (26:35):
He was good.

Speaker 13 (26:36):
I mean, I've had opportunities over the last couple of
years to go back, but a lot of it it's
been around with my dad, which I shared on social
media as him mass retired, but then also my mother
as well, who's a big part of my life. But
then more importantly my beautiful wife Katya and my boys.
Not wanting to be away from those twin boys and

(26:57):
spending time with them. So it was trying to pay
how much to my dad it was his year one
year anniversary is passing, which was a tough encounterment to
deal with, especially over the last.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Five years and what he's been handling. But he's in
a better place, so I'm happy.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
And we're happy for you.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
The fact that you have arrived at such a safe
and healthy place with it. Adam McKinney. One of my
favorite things about you in meeting you over the years
in our production meetings is what you just spoke on.
You're such a thoughtful person, very different than what we
see on the field sometimes in terms of your emotion.
But when you listen to you speak about the game
and specifically your relationship with your father when you played,

(27:35):
what do you remember most about him? What are some
of those things that are your favorite points of your
father's relationship with football and how you guys connected on
the field before you pass.

Speaker 13 (27:44):
I mean, I'm getting shills right now thinking back to it,
but just the big thing that he would always do,
especially before games, would tell me to pray, go out there,
have fun, And it was really just one of those
pieces of like.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
You're playing for our last name, so just go make
as proud as you are already to do. So it
was always a confidence him being behind me.

Speaker 13 (28:04):
Actually my mom as well, even though I didn't grow
up in a household with both my parents, they.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Were both here at all times no matter what we
needed as kids.

Speaker 7 (28:11):
Well, I know, Bro, that he'll be super proud because
all of your accomplishments. KB kind of mentioned it in
the beginning of this interview. Your five time pro baller,
three time first Team, All Pro, defensive Rookie Player of
the Year, super Bowl champion.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
And that's just your NFL career.

Speaker 7 (28:25):
But of all of your accomplishments when you look back
at it, is there one accomplishment that you hope that
people know you.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
For from a lifetime.

Speaker 13 (28:33):
If I'm understanding correct your question correctly, from a lifetime perspective,
I mean, I want to be more known officer than
I was on.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
And I've had a lot of success on the football
field throughout the decades of college.

Speaker 13 (28:47):
And especially in the pros in the Super Bowl, but
ultimately never wanted to be coined as just an athlete.
So ultimately gave in the way for a lot of
different people and showing them that's multi dimensional. And I
can sit in boardrooms, I can sit in high level meeting,
be able to help companies grow, which I've done over

(29:08):
the decades even while I was playing. So ultimately, like
I said, being more steps fault to field than I
was on.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
You know in Dominkin, very early in your career that
was obvious, that was a priority. And I know that
so many people who follow you know that Dominicin has
so many different notes to him and so many different
interest season. I do think it's interesting to go back
to the young raw In Dominkin Sue coming out of Nebraska.
You came into the league and you were looked at
as an avenger or a wrestling heel for some people,

(29:38):
even the word villain because of the way you played.
What's it like for you to hear that and look
back to like twenty ten and Dominkin, I love it, to.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
Be honest with you, because that means I was doing
my job.

Speaker 13 (29:47):
I was pissing off Intio golf, and if you like
me as a defensive player, that means I wasn't doing
my job. And I think from everybody that mentored me,
especially from a Russell Maryland who I just was exchanged
investage with saying message with the other day pa homage
to those guys and being able to say I'm continuing

(30:08):
that blue collar football that you guys ingrained in us
and paved the way for us, and now I want
to just take it to a different level, which I
think I did in a lot of ways, and trying
to change the game and change a game. But I
know there's always been the piece of people having biases
of me being dirty in these different things.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
But ultimately, again, I don't want you to like me
if I'm doing my job.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
See, I think that's something really important in the league.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
I speak as a fan.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
I love that factor of the guy who sees the
line and walks it or maybe goes over it. To
that note in Dominkin, when you look back now at
your career, is there anything on the field that you regret?

Speaker 4 (30:47):
No, there's nothing I regret.

Speaker 13 (30:48):
And the reason why I can say that is because ultimately,
if I'm regretting that, I'm second guessing my decision, second
guessing my job and what I want to do. My
focus is and ultimately it's about being successful and finding
ways to win.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
I think any teammate that I've had would echo this.

Speaker 13 (31:04):
And that they loved me being us, working together and
finding ways to win, setting records, whether it's in Detroit
and twenty fourteen best run defense.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
We should have been the best defense in the league,
but we set records there.

Speaker 13 (31:18):
And then also the same thing going to Miami, changing
that culture and getting them to a winning perspective and
then obviously transitioning getting to Super Bowls.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
And I think three of the.

Speaker 13 (31:28):
Last five years and one of the reasons why Philly
I was able to join that team, and we came
up one game short.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Or really one half short.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
To the great Mahomes and Dominic And you just mentioned it.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
You touched a lot of organizations and you impacted them
the best way that you possibly can. But it all
started for you, at least with the NFL jerseys and
the helmets back in twenty ten at a Radio City
musical event called the NFL Draft.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Let's take a look at where it all.

Speaker 13 (31:56):
Started for you.

Speaker 7 (31:58):
The second pick in the NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select,
and Dominican Sue.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
You better tackle Nebraska.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
That's your original Lions hype man right there in the crowd,
thrilled to her, Sue's name called second overall to the
Detroit Lions back in twenty ten.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
What do you remember about that time and that night
in Domakan.

Speaker 13 (32:22):
It was an interesting night in day, especially because the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers had promised me that they were going
to come up and get me at the number two spot.
They had like twelve picks and they were going to
throw them all that Detroit. But I remember Gunthorpe Cunningham
or the Lake Gun through Cunningham says like, there's no
way I was letting you plass. You're a blue chipper
in my mind, and they were going to take Bradford

(32:45):
at number one, which pissed me off, which made me
go after him as much as possible and trying to
ruin his career.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
But ultimately, I mean, it was one of the greatest
blessings of my career.

Speaker 13 (32:57):
To be able to be drafted at such a high
pick and then obviously setting an opportunity up for me
and my family, but going to Detroit, the great city
that I still love to this day, to be able
to help them turn around in such a blue collar
city as well.

Speaker 10 (33:11):
Well, man, you've played a lot of ball, obviously, from
the draft all the way till now. Three super Bowls.
He played in Super Bowl fifty three with the Rams,
fifty seven with the.

Speaker 9 (33:20):
Eagles, and of course he won Super Bowl fifty five
with the Buccaneers.

Speaker 10 (33:24):
Bring us back to those Super Bowls. You know, what
are the moments that you remember the most?

Speaker 13 (33:28):
Probably the two that stick to my head the most
was the fifth Super Bowl fifty three with La Sitting
losing that game to Tom Brady. I think we had
an amazing one perfour minutes. I think our offense struggled
out for the lowest scoring Super Bowl games ever. And honestly,

(33:49):
I didn't sleep that night after that game, and I
cried and I couldn't.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Understand, like, what did we do wrong? What did I
do wrong?

Speaker 13 (33:55):
Why we couldn't have won that game? And so that
feeled my fire to get back to the Super Bowl.
And then when I got to fit Super Bowl fifty five,
probably one of the best moment mints outside of winning
that game and kissing my wife's stomach after winning, was
messages from Jumpman itself and Michael Jordan the night before,
in the morning of, and then also Phil night and came,

(34:16):
I mean, you've done our city city proud in Portland,
because obviously Phil started Morgan and Jumpman saying, man, go
to be a champion. This is why I brought you
to the brand, this is why I want to do
and I've been trying to get you for years with
blocking me.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
So go get one for the team. That's what I
went did and help my team.

Speaker 7 (34:35):
Wanted to Domak and you talked about I'm Tom Brady
and you've had seventy sacks throughout your career and that's
a lot of different quarterbacks. As a defender, I know
what it feels like to have that one that you
want to get. Is there a quarterback that you've always
wanted to get out of those seventy sacks?

Speaker 13 (34:52):
Yeah, Aaron Rodgers, I'll see you guys up for that one.
He is a pressure to hit. But I think the
probably the most prideful one was Brett fav was later
on in his career going against him against the Jets
and also the Vikings, but I mean, Brett Fabers are great,
so being able to go against him was one of

(35:15):
the absolute pleasures.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
You know, and Dominicin you've mentioned history a lot and
the people who came before you. When you were a
little kid, there was this great dynamic between Brett Favre
and Warren sapp where they would get each other's faces
and they would talk noise and they just love going
at it. You developed a routine and a reputation for
going at it with Rogers. He would go at you,
you'd go at him. When you look back on your

(35:38):
career as a fan, it's impossible not to remember Rogers.
Reflect on those competitions, reflect on those conversations, because a
lot of stuff happened between the.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Two of you.

Speaker 13 (35:46):
Yeah, I think my reflection of those is just pure
competition and competing to be one of the best. I
have ultimate respect for Aaron Rodgers and what he's been
able to do as an individual. I wish him the best,
especially with him being with the Steelers. I hope him
and my boy Lay find a way to get to
a Super Bowl and hopefully win it this year. From

(36:07):
that perspective and being a fan, I'm looking forward to
being able to go and watch them, hopefully live. I
think with my Sky Sports gig and commentating, I think
they're on my schedule.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
So hopefully me and Eric can have a.

Speaker 13 (36:23):
Conversation because I know he's reached out before, but we
just haven't had that opportunity. And I think one thing
I would wish for him is to get to know me,
especially off the field versus on the field.

Speaker 10 (36:33):
Man, You're always somebody I really looked up to throughout
my career. I remember I'd had times that my mom
would text and me be like, you know, have you
got a chance to talk to demacom Like, you know,
we're both Camerian guys.

Speaker 9 (36:44):
And I got my I got my flag shorts here
man and represent now she was coming on. Man, I
was super excited to talk to you. I was scared
to talk to you about my mom used to text
you those things. But you know, we're both Camerillon.

Speaker 10 (36:57):
You know what about our culture, Like what is it
instilled to you? What does it mean to you being Camerion.

Speaker 13 (37:04):
I mean, I'll just go back to a little bit
of when I got drafted, so I'll never forget when
I was sitting there in that draft room and getting
wanting CNN or CNN wanting to speak to me to
relay my interview back to the Cameroon and people. That was,
I mean, amazing understanding how prideful my dad is being considered,

(37:25):
especially in the northwest of Cameron, a little bit of
royalty from that perspective, like I have a whole country
behind me and villages.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
And all these people that are looking up to me.

Speaker 13 (37:34):
So ultimately it's representing that not only that flag that
you just put up, but the people within that in
my many many siblings and family members that are back
there as well well.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
And Donalakan, you might have a lot of countries watching you.
On Sunday, September twenty Eighth, you just mentioned you have
a gig.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
With Sky Sports. Can you just share with people.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
What that role is and what you're implying here is
that does that crew that you work with for Sky Sports?
Will they be in Dublin, Ireland for the Viking Steelers game,
a game in which Aaron Rodgers would be at and
therefore are we going to have this on field camera
handshake with all the cameras around.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
How's that going to go for you?

Speaker 13 (38:12):
Well, see, that's a tentative plan right now. We're in
conversation with my boss to potentially get over there. Scott
Sports has been great. I've been there for the last
two years and primarily in October, in January, and then
this most recent just did the Super Bowl for them.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
It's been a blast, ton of fun being able to
work with Neil Reynolds.

Speaker 13 (38:32):
But ultimately I think there's a lot of exciting things
to be able to grow and be able to do
that and really stay close to the game, which I'm excited.
So if Aaron is open tun he has free I
want them to stay focused for winning for his team.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
We're definitely now come.

Speaker 9 (38:49):
We got we got a lot of time to sit
down and speak at the Social Media and Branding workshop
out in LA. I was so happy I got a
chance to really sit down and talk with you, and
some of the things that you told me, Man, I
think are great for young players in the league to
hear just about your mindset and really off the field
how you were, whether it's getting meetings with the owners,
whether it's getting to know the decision makers in the cities.

Speaker 10 (39:11):
Are the teams that you played in who instilled that
in your mindset to do those things? And what would
you recommend to players, young guys who were.

Speaker 9 (39:20):
In the position that you were in cornerstones of a team,
and how they can start to cultivate those relationships with
people in their cities.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (39:27):
I mean a lot of people don't know this, but
I made a lot of my decisions in free agency
in and around not only being able to win football games,
but also to learn off the football field. And one
of the reasons why I went to LA was to
be able to be close to the Kronky family and
be able to learn for all the great things that
they've been doing. And I mean, you look at them
as an organization, I think came out that they with

(39:47):
all their sports teams that they own. They're one of
the most successful and the highest valued at this particular
point in time. Same thing with Stephen Ross and the
ability to learn from him, especially from a real estate perspective,
with related and all the different things that they're doing,
and really just from the social aspect of being able
to to have with your own voice. And I think
that's one of the reasons why I created No Free

(40:08):
Lunch with The New York Times and Athletic to be
able to continue to have that unbiased, unfiltered voice, but
also to have real conversations, talk about real strategies, whether
it's tax all the different things that come in to
that side of the world, but then also providing education
that I was greatly given from Warren Buffett, who's a
close mentor of mine, Joe Moglia who's a chairman or

(40:28):
former chairman chairman of TDM Ror Trade, and Jay Brown
with Marshy Venture Partners and a founder.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
Of rock Nation.

Speaker 13 (40:36):
Being able to stay connected to those guys, learn from them,
be at their hips, but also be able to share
that knowledge that I've been able to get over the
last fifteen years from the for me to be successful,
to not only be able to pass out on to
other folks and whatnot. So, I mean, that's really my
big thing of being able to leverage all the resources
in the platform that I have been afforded by having

(40:57):
a successful career in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
You see it right there. NFL stands for no free lunch.
That is Dominican's pod dominic. And this is absolutely perfect, insightful, thoughtful,
and it's always how you've carried yourself in the media.
Congratulations on your retirement. If this is it, We're so
glad you came by and talked to us. You are
a Warren Sap meets Warren Buffett. It's pretty incredible.

Speaker 4 (41:19):
Thank you, Matt, I.

Speaker 13 (41:20):
Appreciate its always a pleasure to talk. Beefullayse See you
guys again soon.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
What are these young quarterbacks in the NFL doing on
jet skis in the offseason, showing us what kind of
cannon they have?

Speaker 2 (41:31):
We got footage next on GMFB
