Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
That's right, what's up everybody? This is Good Morning Football.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
We are brought to you by Old Shopper Beech Jerkey,
live as always in both LA and New York. It's Wednesday,
Junary fifteenth. Here's Ock bar baj Ba Miller. There's Peter Stregger,
Kyle Brent back in New York. I'm Jamie eartl far
very nice hackers. LA jacket, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (00:41):
Giving La some love. You know, La, We're going through
a lot right now. So I figured I put on
my LA little jacket right here. You know what I'm saying.
I thought Kyle was going to be in here today,
so I thought he would be impressed by my jacket.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Oh no, he flew, he flew back.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Still I still am impressed by it.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Looks like you left half of it in the dryer
too long. That says one of it's small, one of
it's big, but it actually meets in the middle. I'm
very excited for today's show, in particular, in the next segment,
we're going to be comparing playoff teams or players to
professional wrestlers.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I know Peter's locked and loaded. I'm locked and loaded.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I'm going to throw it down the gauntlet.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Jamie.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
You've said many times you don't know much about wrestling,
and maybe it's a topic that just doesn't wheelhouse for you.
I want you to have an answer for it. I
don't care what you come up with, if the staff
helps you, if someone does. Next segment, when we go,
I want you to have an answer. No passing, you
must have one.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Can it be current like somebody I met on Christmas
Day in promotion of Netflix?

Speaker 6 (01:31):
Sure?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Okay, right, because I.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Saw like two people that I know of now, like
the whole rolldecks, it's two wrestlers.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Let's go. I like this challenge.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I will be fully distracted during this conversation.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Sunday we get the Rams and the Eagles in the
Divisional Round. The last time we saw these two teams play,
it was here at La Across the Street, Week.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Twelve, Sunday Night Football.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
The Eagles beat up the round thirty seven to twenty.
That was, if you want to call it, the Sacred
Barkley Game. Barkley ran for two hundred fifty five yards,
two touchdowns, and twenty six carries. Eagles offensive coordator Kellen
Moore spoke on Tuesday about this rematch.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
And his run game.

Speaker 7 (02:06):
Certainly saw had a great day out there. Long time
between those two games, a bunch of other games. They're
playing as well as any defense in the league right now.
They're playing really confidently, and so obviously they'll stress us
in a lot of different ways. They'll be challenges associated
with our run game based off of them having that
film and the film that they put out the last
month and a half, which has been really, really impressive.
So it'll be a challenge, all right.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
So Kellen Moore might be a name that a year
in the coaching circles as teams are making highers, but
he's focused on this right here, planning against an LA
Rams defense that looked awesome on Monday night against the
Minnesota vik Games.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It's Rams, it's Eagles this time.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
That's happening Sunday in Philadelphia, three pm Eastern on NBC.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
But the fact that they've played.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Each other within recent memory makes you think that that
Week twelve game might matter. Peter, Will this game be
different than what we saw in LA Across the street
when Saquon Barkley had.

Speaker 8 (02:58):
A day and Sakwon Barkley went for three hundred yards
from scrimmage and I think he just scored another touchdown
for that week's game, I do. I think he just
scored again. It was unbelievable what he did. And I
was in the building. It was one of those days
where I was there on Sunday and then came to
Good Morning Football on Monday morning, and I have to say,
around the third quarter you start looking around. When the
first play of the third quarter, Saquon goes, Now this

(03:19):
thing's over and there's still twenty five thirty minutes left
to do.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
What do we do to finish up the evening?

Speaker 8 (03:24):
It was that much of a blowout, And yet the
Rams look like they are different than they were then.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
That's not my concern.

Speaker 8 (03:31):
It's not so much that Saquon's going to be doing
backwards jumps over them. My concern is that the Rams
just gave out every piece of emotional energy you possibly
could have on a Monday night and in seventy two
hours shipped everybody to Arizona. They recreated that field to
make it feel like so far their fans showed up
and they got the win, and now on a.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
Short week, They've got to go across the.

Speaker 8 (03:53):
Country in an early window to play Philly. Where by
the way, for all the great Stafford and McVeagh wins,
they've never played a road playoff game in the cold together.
In fact, Vey has only had one road playoff game
outside and it was with Jared Golf and it was
in Green Bay in twenty twenty one at Lambeau during
the COVID season. And this was not really a game either.

(04:16):
The Packers took care of business. So I'm trying to
spin it a diver. I don't think a Week twelve
game in Saquon going for three hundred is keeping Jared
Versus and Brandon Fisk up all night. I do wonder
if the lack of experience and the lack of cold
weather experience is going to play a role.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
It's weird we're talking weather talk.

Speaker 8 (04:34):
We had to go all the way back to COVID
for the last time that the Rams played an outdoor
cold weather playoff game.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
They beat Tampa outdoors.

Speaker 8 (04:41):
Of course they want in Arizona a couple of times.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 8 (04:44):
I look at it this as it's a totally different
setup than Week twelve. They're not at home, and they're
coming off that emotional victory and then they got to
go outside into those elements. I can't stress it enough.
I don't think there's a more hostile place. And you
saw some of the videos than Philadelphia to go play
a road playoff game. And it's true, it's not just
what happens in the crowd, it's on the field.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
Also, it's really difficult.

Speaker 8 (05:04):
To win there, especially especially in January, when the weather
and the elements and momentum of a hot Eagles team
starts kicking in.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
And they I mean, they killed the Rams. It's a
look back in this game Saque three hundred yards.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
It was just shock and awe.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
I don't like that they had that game already, like
they already gave the butt whooping. It's like they landed
their best punch. They handed that to McVeigh. They said,
this is what we do our best. Try to deal
with it now. And now weeks later McVeigh can look
at that game and see all the mistakes he made.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
You want to go.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Against this pass rush because we can talk about Week twelve,
this was a couple days ago.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
This is the Rams team now.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
And also I think the Eagles were just playing better
as a team back then. Understand when they beat the
Rams the week prior, they had just taken care of
jayde Daniels, They'd be They've beaten the Commanders. The next
week they beat Baltimore like they were on fire that time.
That was like they were maybe the best team in
the league. Now, I'll speak for the Eagles fans.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I think that they wanted Sam Darnold. I think that
they wanted the Vikings.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
Think that you don't want that.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
You don't want McVeigh and Stafford and.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Verse and those young pass rushers. I think this is
a big loss added to which you want to look
back in that Eagles Rams game, I did you know
who by far?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
By far was.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
The best Eagles defensive player that day, But you can
guess it's Nikobe Dean. He led the Eagles in tackles,
tackles for a loss, sack quarterback. He was a monster,
absolute monster. He's gone now. He will not be playing
in this game. It absolutely sucks, but he's gone. Also,
before we're starting the show, I'm getting into some some
Eagles media Peter, and I'm reading did they lose the Packers?
I think they lost because Nikobe's hurt and Jalen is

(06:40):
just like kind of gone.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
We don't know what's day going on with him. The
Jalen hurts discourse go on.

Speaker 8 (06:44):
Is it's hot like hot in Philadelphia right now? There
are questions of is he concuss still? What the heck
was that? Why can't they won by by twelve points?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
I think of it.

Speaker 8 (06:55):
You would have thought they lost by thirty the way
that people are reacting to that Eagles win.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
So I don't see the same quarterback. I don't see
the team playing quite as well. Saquon's great and they
got great players.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Look wrong.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
They're not screwed or anything. But I think they're playing
a different Rams team. I don't think they're playing the
Vikings and they wish they would have. I don't think
they're playing the Packers, different time, different months.

Speaker 8 (07:14):
Could you see emotional letdown after that win for the Rams?

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Definitely. We talked about.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Sometimes these emotional teams run out of gas. And exhibit
A was a few years ago with the Buffalo Bills
and the DeMar Hamlin season and a lot of the things,
and the Tragy was happening in Buffalo. Terrible terrible season
off the field and sometimes you ride it and sometimes
you're like, we just don't have it anymore. Buffalo ran
out of gas completely.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
Will the Rams. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
We'll find out, but I don't compare it to the
last game.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
And Kyle, you were talking about Nacobe Dean, and Nakobe
Dean was a big factor for the Eagles in that game,
because you remember the Eagles they started off a little
slow defensively, and that's where the Rams really kind of
picked up. They took you know, Matthew Stafford was getting going.
He made his longest run ever in that game. You know,
open up. They came out pretty hot. But I look
at this and I go, you know, this is a
turning point for the Rams, because you remember the Rams.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Were five and five at that point.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
They lose that game and then they go on this
five game winning streak and they become a totally different team.
I think we're looking at a Rams team that is
not the same as that Week twelve team. Yes, the
Eagles went off on them, but I also look at adversity.
Adversity does something to a team, especially when there's this commonality,
this thing that everyone is experiencing here in Los Angeles

(08:25):
that game against the Eagles, there was a lot of that.
You take the Rams out of their element, you put
them in Arizona, everything that everyone's bonded together. We're still
going through this in Los Angeles, and I think this
is a team that is not only just prepared because
they are a better team before the adversity, but with adversity,
the Eagles are going to definitely have to watch out

(08:47):
for the Los Angeles rep. I think the Los ange Rams,
to your point, I think that can cause some real
headache core for the Philadelphia Eagles in this situation.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
It's true, and this is a team that with the
head coaches that has been there before, you know, is
how to navigate not only situations like this in terms
of adversity in the community, but also getting to a Super.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Bowl, winning a Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
So the fact that these are the two head coaches,
the systems, the coordinators, the quarterbacks, this is awesome.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Come Sunday afternoon, all right, let's bring in our own
NFL Network insider Ian Rappoport right now.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Lots to discuss today, because not only do we go
America's team, Ian, you also are taking us.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
With news outside the country. As well walk us through it.

Speaker 9 (09:26):
We'll start with former coach of America's team, Mike McCarthy
now interviewing with the Chicago Bears. That is going to
be today, and just the mere thought of the former
Packers coach being the Bears coach really just shows you.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
Just how absolutely crazy this world is.

Speaker 9 (09:40):
In this coaching church has been, in this Dallas Cowboys,
the situation has been.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
Of course, we know.

Speaker 9 (09:44):
Mike McCarthy now out contract officially expired yesterday on Tuesday,
so he now is going to interview with the Chicago
Bears today, considered to be one of the candidates to
watch there in Chicago.

Speaker 6 (09:55):
It's been a long church, a really long church.

Speaker 9 (09:57):
A lot of candidates, but certainly McCarthy, someone who's worked
with the quarterback position, stands out makes a lot of
sense there. My understanding is he also going to interview
with the New Orleans Saints early next week, and then
let's go to his former team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
Has been obviously a lot of talk.

Speaker 9 (10:12):
Conversation about Dion Sanders and his potential role in the
Cowboys head coach charch to Miners saying they have not
yet put in any interview requests for head coach they
have been having. Jerry Jones specifically have been having conversations
with his good friend Deon Sanders, as he has for
the last oh I don't know, a couple of decades.
Sanders also, to my knowledge, is in contract extension talks

(10:35):
with Colorado.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
Now he has said publicly.

Speaker 9 (10:38):
That he wants to stay in college, does not want
to go to the NFL, but still when the two
have some sort of mutual interest, it is worth discussing.
We'll see if he's able to get that extension at Colorado,
if the Cowboys continue to have those talks.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
And then now let's go outside the country. Some very
cool news.

Speaker 9 (10:55):
For the Indianapolis Colts and their fans, and because of
that we get the music, We get the international music
that is always exciting. The Colts now officially designated as
the host of the NFL's.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
First game in Berlin.

Speaker 9 (11:09):
So we know Jaguars Brown Jet's going to be in London,
we know there's a Madrid game. We know of the
NFL can have up to eight potentially more coming. For
the Indianapolis Colts, they know for sure now they'll be
the host of the first game in Berlin.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Okay, it's a good lineup so far, but the fact
that we still are broaching the first ever throughout Germany
is awesome.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
And we love the fans in Germany.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
They watch GMFB, they love the NFL, they show up,
they represent.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
That's awesome me and thank you so much for talk
to you. A little bit.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Coming up before we look at that twenty twenty five
regular season schedule, please, we have playoff matchups that are
set for next week. We are going to go back
and look at some of the most underrated Divisional Round
games of all time during Whiteboard Wednesday, Kyle, I got
my wrestler.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
I'm ready. I'm ready to go.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
All right, Dammy, it's famous.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Last week, but I'm ready to go.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Peter and I go into the booth.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Did Nickelodeon's Bridge of Chargers Texans make our cut of
the best?

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Petra?

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Hello, Patrick, Look at all the fans we're gonna go today.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Belong with Mike Turico and Joe Buck. We'll figure it out.
I don't know who that is.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Looks like a fox and a mask and a bubble,
an angry bubble. There's a dirty bubble.

Speaker 10 (12:20):
All right.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
We'll get Interne after this this very important stuff for
the dirty bubble.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Gross Good morning football.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
All Right, Divisional weekend is upon us.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Happy holidays, everybody. This is really when we start to celebrate.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
The first question for Whiteboard Wednesday is as follows, grab
your marker and docy do Peter. The most underrated Divisional
game of all time is as follows.

Speaker 8 (12:55):
Okay, I'm gonna set it up a little bit.

Speaker 7 (12:57):
Here.

Speaker 8 (12:58):
You have a Dallas Cowboys team that's the number one
seed and had two losses in the regular season, and
it's riding high and is finally going to get back
to the Super Bowl or at.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Least the NFC Championship.

Speaker 11 (13:09):
And then you got old Eli coming in there and
the O seven Giants going into Dallas and beating the Cowboys.
Eli Manning comes in there against Tony Romo, and.

Speaker 8 (13:20):
This game was like the Eli Manning truly, truly I
belong moment. This is at the end of the first half.
A Moni tumor on fights here, and then Romo struggling
at the end of this game as the Giants would
find a way to stop them. Marion Barber the late great.
Of course, You've got Terrell Owens and it led to
a Giant's victory and a very big discussion about what

(13:43):
Tony Romo and Jason Witten were.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
Doing during the bye week. They were in.

Speaker 8 (13:47):
Cabo with girlfriends, and at the time that was very,
very controversial, and it led to this famous famous press
conference clip.

Speaker 12 (13:57):
Take a listen, talk about the vacation and if you
do that's really unfair.

Speaker 7 (14:05):
It's really unfair. That's my team, it's my quarterback.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
And if you guys do that, man, it's fair. We
lost her the team. We lost her the team man.

Speaker 8 (14:20):
One of the all time wildest press conference, one of
the wildest stories, winning Romo the ultimate pros going to
Cabo and then of course if you lose, you're going
to hear about it now. Ironically, about ten years later,
the Giants, after winning a week seventeen game would go
on a boat in Miami on a yacht and they
would all be wearing Timberland shoes and we'd be still
hearing about it in New York.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
I haven't heard from him since.

Speaker 8 (14:41):
That was it, But that was my underrated game, never
mentioned as one of the all time classics.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
ELI found a Way in Dallas.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
You know, that was one that I'll never forget because
I think that might have been the first time I
had seen like that type of cry, that type of
intensity for a person's quarterback. Of course, that means still
goes on today. For me, I go back to two
thousand and six. Of course, the Patriots by that time
had already won three Super Bowls, and there was a
team coming out that people going like they got something.

(15:10):
It was the two thousand and six Chargers fourteen and
two that season. This is probably one of the most
underrated divisional games. This is the year that I think
everyone knew and felt like this is going to be
the year for the Chargers to go to the Super Bowl.
Ladanian Thomlinson in this game went off, but I think,
you know, people forget that in this game, Tom Brady
threw three interceptions. He threw one to Donnie Edwards in

(15:32):
that game, Drayden Florence, and then I think the one
that everyone remembers and it still goes down today, it's
that Marlon McCree because at that time it was fourth quarter,
fourth down, and there was a massive, massive interception by
Marlon McCree that then gets punched out by Brown, Troy Brown.
Troy Brown gets that and then of course, you know,
they go on Steven Galkowski, excuse me, he kicks that

(15:55):
final kick and that was just a heart wrench and
I think everyone remembers when Ladanian Thomlinson like just I mean,
he was so upset and they were celebrated.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
He was about.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
To get out into it and we're sitting there, we're
all crying. This is the year that the Chargers had
that opportunity to go to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I really believe that.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
And that was yeah, gosh, that one was still painful
to even talk about. I'm about to do the t
O right now. That was that was the the coach,
the coach right afterwards, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, Artie, he was.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
They were doing Sean Merriman's dance and then.

Speaker 10 (16:26):
The lights out.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
Did the lights out dance.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
And maybe it comes from their head coach. He took
shade at Belichick and everything, all right. Twenty seventeen. Dan
Quinn versus Doug Peterson, Matt Ryan versus Nick Foles. This
is Falcons Eagles at night on a Saturday in Philadelphia.

Speaker 6 (16:42):
Here's why this is so cool.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
This Falcons team is coming off the twenty eight to
three season. It was the season before I think that's
got to be Jaya Jali, right, there isn't it. That's
gotta be So they recover from twenty eight to three.
This is the Carson Wentz got hurt, Nick Foles Miracle
team unbelievable things.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
A few weeks before from.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
For Philly Special, there's Chris Long. At the end of
the game, the Falcons drive all the way to the field,
needing a touchdown to beat the Eagles in Philadelphia. There
they are knocking on the door and Matt Ryan continuously,
oh h that's the last play.

Speaker 6 (17:13):
He could not bring it in.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Just the jump ball to one of the greatest jump
ball receivers ever, and it.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Goes right through his hands.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
He catches that ball against the Jim Schwartz defense.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
They all lose.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
There is no Philly Special, There is no Nick Foles miracle.
Tom Brady likely has another ring, maybe against the Falcons
back to back.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Amazing. I got to be there.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I was with my brother and my friend gins from Philly.
Unbelievable and believable night and led to a legend from Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Oh my god, those are all great.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
All right. Speaking of Philadelphia, we saw aj Brown getting
some quality reading time in during during the win for
the team over the backers on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Which leads us to this.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
The book that you would suggest to any team or player,
Peter right now is whether it be life lesson past
the time just for maybe some comedic relief, what have you?
What's that book, Peter?

Speaker 8 (17:58):
Okay, I go back to the Greek legend of Homer
and I'm saying the Odyssey, and it's for the La Rams.
What a postseason ride this will be if you have
to go all the way to Arizona to Philadelphia, then
likely back to Detroit where Matthew Stafford would be going
back to Detroit for an NFC championship game to then

(18:23):
go to New Orleans where, by the way, they won
an NFC title game with McVeigh over a very controversial
call to play one of the greatest quarterbacks remaining in
the NFL no offense to CJ.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Stroud.

Speaker 8 (18:34):
I imagine it's gonna be one of the big three
in the afc.

Speaker 6 (18:37):
Lamar, Mahomes or Allen.

Speaker 8 (18:40):
This thing started on the road in Arizona for the Rams,
but it could end in New Orleans and in the
very end, I don't know if there's a Cyclops or
sirens or whatever else.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
But the odyssey is it. Go get them adusus, adusus.
What you got?

Speaker 13 (18:58):
All right?

Speaker 5 (18:58):
I got one my own book, Everyone can be at
Ninja For the Houston Texans, you go, okbar, everyone can
be a Ninja. What's this book about? Well, I'll tell
you what my book is about. It's about overcoming obstacles.
American Ninja Warriors are all. It's an entire show about
athletes going through obstacles. Well, I talk about the obstacles
on the course. I talk about the obstacles in my life,

(19:19):
and I'm about to tell the Houston Texans about the
obstacle they're getting ready to go up against in the
Kansas City Chiefs. They're going for the three pet This
is a big time team and you're going to have
to go through a lot of mental gymnastics to get.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
Through the and to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
But this book right here, I think is one that
AJ Brown might want to pick up too as well.
Help a brother out. I want to I want to
get up to the top as well. But Houston Texans, C. J. Stroud,
go ahead and purchase that order right there. Everyone can
be a Ninja I'm telling you it will change your life.

Speaker 6 (19:50):
You will be that Ninja Ninja Pard.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Do you have a QR code or anything you want
to put up to make it easier for them to
buy immediately on the air right now?

Speaker 5 (19:59):
Yeah, I should have brought my book in to and
a QR code, but they don't need to. There you
go Simon and Schuster, they'll they'll take care of it wherever.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Books I currently, I presently don't don't have a book,
but I do have one for the commanders. I want
the commanders Akbarzana his own book. I want the commanders
to read Charlotte's Web.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
And here's why, the classic E. B. White Tail, because.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I could easily match up the characters and say who's who?
And you know, jayde Daniels is Will Burr, and then
dan Quinn is Fern and the lions.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Are Templeton the Rat.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
But more importantly, just a reminder to the commanders things
are going great right now. It's been a wonderful story.
It doesn't mean it's gonna end well. Do you know
how gut wrenching and horrible the end of this book is.
I recently read it to my daughter, hadn't read it
in thirty years. Horrific ending, very sad memory of the end,
very sad. I'm not gonna I'm night Shyamalana for you.
But like it doesn't it's not a happy ending. You
get lulled into thinking these wonderful barn animals they're just

(20:52):
gonna grow old together. One of them doesn't grow old.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
It's really really bad.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
So if the Charlotte's Web thing for the Commanders is like,
you're just cruising right now and the playoffs are easy.
You beat this team, you beat that team, you could
have a terrible ending in the Barn against Detroit. It's
going to go quickly. Remind yourself when you read this
there are no really pleasant happy endings in the NFL.
Make sure that there are. Don't go like Charlotte at
the end of this thing terrible. I'm sitting there crying

(21:17):
reading my daughter E B. White, just ripping our hearts out.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
It is a devastating ending. Kyle.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
It's one of those that, like I think I've found
in my collection, Like, we're going to put this to
the side and not address this until anyone is yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Yeah, exactly, the farm version of Old Yeller.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Okay, it's like being asked to get off the bench
during kickball. I have my whiteboard, I have an answer.
I'm so excited about this next question. I'm being invited
to play. Also during the Eagles Packers game on Sunday, QUINNYA.
Mitchell and Cooper jan had a massive fail when it
came to their celebration.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
This is this was something.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
It was the touchdown, it was the pick, it was
something that was supposed to be and here we go.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
I know they're trying to do trileh just finishing thank you.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
This is actually a perfect way to set the fact
that I know nothing when it comes to eighties wrestlers
finishing moves.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Mitchell just thought it fell down.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
Then Triple af chimed in, He'll try this at home.
But congrats on the win, Quinon.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
There could have been better execution. But the point is anytime.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
That we can bring up a wrestling into this show
and make a parallel to the.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
NFL, we do that.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
So pick a wrestler that best encapsulates one of the
remaining eight playoff teams.

Speaker 8 (22:27):
Peter, I was nine or ten years old, and I'm
going to take you back to Freehill, New Jersey.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
Had all my friends over.

Speaker 8 (22:33):
It was first ever Royal Rumble, and it was this
new format and this new concept. And of course we've
had wrestle Mania, and I believe we even had Summer Slam,
and of course there was Saturday Night's main event. But
the Royal Rumble was every few minutes, a new wrestler
would enter the ring and the last guy remaining would
be standing there and he would be the champion of
the Royal Rumble. The winner that day was a gentleman

(22:56):
named Hacksaw Jim Jim Duggin Hacksaw Jim Duggan, who would
walk around with an American flag and just go ho
and then were good sums up at the.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Two four and a two by four.

Speaker 8 (23:10):
You just haven't own reason inexplicably why Josh Allen. Josh
Allen plays like he's in the Royal Rumble.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Get into the ring. I'm gonna knock you, and I'm
gonna knock you and bring it on.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
But I'll also give you another one. Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

Speaker 8 (23:24):
He never won a big WrestleMania and he never had
a World Champion belt, he never had the Intercontinental belt.
He was always a really good, nice, beloved wrestler who
represented America in the Red, White and Blue but never
won the big one. Josh Allen, I want you to
graduate from being the Hacksaw Jim Duggan of the WWE

(23:45):
or in my time the WWF, and I want to
see you elevate to be in that Hogan, macho man,
ultimate warrior status.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
I gotta, I.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Gotta have a comment on Duggin. This is very relevant,
I promise, and Peter is gonna blow you away. Hacksaw
Jim Duggan, prolific high school wrestler Okay and football.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
State New York.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
Right, yes, yep, play football at SMU wow. Was signed
out of college by the Atlanta Falcons into camp. Injuries
went and gone. But like I wonder if there is
a picture of the Atlanta Falcons camp is probably in
the seventies at some point.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Am I dug In.

Speaker 7 (24:19):
Out of it?

Speaker 1 (24:19):
I don't even know what position. I know he played
football run New York maybe.

Speaker 8 (24:23):
So is that all those guys hats we love it.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
I know Bill Goldper he was with the Falcons for
a little bit too as well. That's that's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Falcons as well.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
Well, Peter, you mentioned this name, so I'm gonna go
ahead and say it because they wear the same colors,
the red and yellow.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
And no I'm not.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
Talking about Hulk Hogan.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
I'm talking about much mean Randy seven.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
You dig it.

Speaker 13 (24:46):
Let me tell you something right now. All the other
teams right now in the NFL just a little bit
of particles in the Sahara Desert, but the entire Sahara
Desert is the Kansas City Chiefs because they're much when
they're fleshy.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
You remember this played honkts. Oh yeah, you dig it?

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Snap into a beach kid?

Speaker 6 (25:08):
Yeah, hold right here, you remember this play?

Speaker 2 (25:11):
And no agree yet? You dig it?

Speaker 13 (25:14):
How about this patchick my homes to Travis Chelsea?

Speaker 6 (25:18):
Oh, everybody likes.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
It, just like God Taylor Swift.

Speaker 13 (25:23):
I'm telling you right now, this is the Marchell team
going forward three p. Everybody knows we've got the flair
and the swag.

Speaker 12 (25:30):
You dig it?

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Good job there it is. There are a lot of
impress They're not easy to do. I love that one
of the keys is he does do this a lot?
He does this, isn't there? I like to think that
if if Randy Poffo is still here, that he would
no longer be a slim JAVP with old.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Trapper a trapper. It's a great impression.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
I love it, and I'm actually so proud of this
that I submitted to our staff as the question was
asked a minute ago.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Uh some deep cuts.

Speaker 10 (26:00):
They don't even have.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Pictures for it, and I refuse to say, oh, give
me Stone Cold Hulkgan. So first of all, the Vikings,
their comp would be the Shockmaster, and real ones know
that they shockmastered their way into the NFL playoffs and
shockmastered the way out Shockmaster, who of course used to
be tug Boat and had a bidazzled Stormtrooper thing and
it was an incredible, incredible piece of videotape. But I

(26:20):
have two The Baltimore Ravens with Lamar and Derrick Henry,
our Demolition, who is the tag team of Axe and Smash,
who later added Crush and went to a three person
tag team which didn't make sense but worked.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
And then also the Detroit Lions. I'm so mad there's
not a picture of these.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
The Troit Lions are the Nasty Boys. The Nasty Boys,
Brian Knobs, Jerry Saggs Early Nights came out and their
whole stick was just like we're.

Speaker 13 (26:43):
A bad boy.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
We're nasty. Yeah, we got mohawks.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
On necktops and we're kind of big and not that muscular,
but like we do, we'll bite you and we'll do
nasty and the Nasty boys. I bet Dan Campbell goes
down with the Nasty bue.

Speaker 6 (26:56):
I bet he gits.

Speaker 8 (26:59):
I'm surprised he didn't go Bushwhackers. When we come to
Dan Campbell, I feel like those guys and the Lions
also so similar.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Love that's right, but the Bushwhackers were blithering idiots, morons,
and when you would just come in, you come into
real rumble and you just go right out Witch and
Luke and that's over.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
So I don't have an NFL comp I.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Mean, listen if I which is worse for the Vikings,
Shockmaster Bushwhacker and Shockmaster is much worse. If you've never
seen Shockmaster WWE at the commercial break, typing into YouTube,
you will not understand what you're looking at. But it's spectacular, okay,
never Kyle.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Whenever Kyle says, and of course and then like those
three wrestling deep cuts, and there is no of course,
there no one. I think several maybe some people know
what you're talking about but I never do pictures, no pictures,
So I love how stress everybody is about this peril
that I was asked to make seventeen minutes ago because
offers handwritten me notes over here to just say say
Ricky the Dragon, Steamboat, Kyle will flip. We have our

(27:58):
researcher emailing me eighties and nineties wrestlers, and the only
name I recognized on there was because it was the
former governor of my home.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
I'm not going to go with Jesse Vantura either, I
go over. I know two wrestlers right now. I know
Live Morgan.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
I met her on Christmas Day and I'm going to
tell you why.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Live Morgan is the La Rams.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
Okay, Live Morgan is bad. She's a bad mother, all right.
This girl likes to.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Mess with people. She is sassy.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
She is I think, considered young in the wrestling world
as the Rams are now Maya Stafford.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
She just beats up on everybody. She has the title
belt like McVay does. On Christmas Day.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
When I met this girl, I don't know what I
was getting into. It's just like you're gonna interview Live Morgan.
I was like, I'm not sure, wasn't sure. Who we
were going to get in the playoffs with the La Rams,
and look at who we got. Someone that looks like
they can win, go all the way to the super Bowl,
beat up on everybody on the way. And speaking of
when I interviewed Live Morgan that day, I walked away
from that interaction. She was so entertaining, she was such

(28:53):
a professional, and I was like, you know what, if
Live Morgan even beat a wrestler from my hometown in
the title game so badly and it was such an
embarrassing beat that I would have felt embarrassed about my
hometown wrestler. I still would be like, you know what,
Live Morgan, You're awesome, and I kind of want to
keep watching you wrestle on in whatever wrestling competition you're in.
So Live Morgan, you are the La Rams. And she

(29:15):
was part of the Riot Squad a couple of years ago,
and that kind of feels Sean mcvayish. But now she
was on the Live Morgan revenge tour.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Rams are on a revenge tour.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Except she just lost the title belt on Monday Night
Raw on the debut on Netflix. So we're not going
to parallel that because maybe the Rams will go all
the way like with Morgan had the belt.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
There's my live Morgan. There's my live Morgan.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
Parallel La doctor bad Lauren, doctor baby.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yes, Sherry, what you got hey, Achuar.

Speaker 14 (29:42):
We have the news coming up and remember lines. Running
back David Montgomery well he passed on surgery for his
knee injury he suffered back in week fifteen, and said
he out to rehab the injury with the hope of
returning for the playoffs. It looks like he is just
one step closer to this goal.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
He was a sole.

Speaker 14 (29:59):
Participant in Tuesday's walk through. On tuesday's practice, Montgomery saying
after he was happy to be back, but his status
for a Sunday's game against the Commanders not determined just yet.
Also good news for Rams at tight end Tyler Higby.
He was released from the hospital and traveled back to
LA with the team. He suffered a chest injury. Head
coach Sean McVay says he expects Higby to be able

(30:21):
to play Sunday against the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Now coming up, Peter and Kyle head into the booth.

Speaker 14 (30:26):
They bring us the best sights in sounds from Bold
Card weekend. You don't want to miss these highlights don't
go anywhere.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
Good mom football.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
We like to take a minute to celebrate the ladies
and gentlemen calling the games in a segment we call
into the booth. You see Troy when they're scribbling some notes,
furiously working hard.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
In the booth.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
And Peter and I as well in our stately GMFB blazers. Peter,
you love wearing that.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
I love this blazer.

Speaker 8 (31:01):
I feel like it's the old CBS I on the
blazer that used to see on all the legends. And Kyle,
we are so excited to be calling some wild card game.
Best of calls do we start off with the best call.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Go of the week.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Let's not waste the ney time.

Speaker 8 (31:14):
Okay, let's go to the city of Tampa Bay where
our friends Mike Tarico and Chris Collinsworth were there for
one of the most dramatic finishes of the NFL season
and it involved.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Something we like to call the doink.

Speaker 12 (31:30):
The last time Washington won a wild card game won
a playoff game was two thousand and five. Here chance
to do it with Gonzale from thirty seven to send
Washington to the Final eight.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
The Washington come doint caway to the diffensional round.

Speaker 15 (31:54):
I do believeable. I have seen it all now, I
even get a divisional doint.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
I feel like every time I sail they are headed
to Detroit. Fantastic.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
So they doink their way to the divisional round from
Turrico in the perfect voice. And why is this incredible?
Because we look back to last month he's doing the
same thing and they're calling a Chiefs game. Sure enough,
it hits the upright again, and Tarico says a doint
for the division, So it's for the division to the divisional.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
He basically has his own version of a double door.
Find them, you get your double I.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Wish I wish we were talking a lot of wrestling today.
I wish Doink the clown could have come and been
in the.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Booth think and doing. Can we love them both?

Speaker 1 (32:45):
I don't know if they're still with us, and one
of them now, I'm pretty sure most wrestlers.

Speaker 10 (32:49):
Aren't Peter right.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I don't think I think you're good there. I just
think they've passed on. But either way, we love Mike
and Chris. And at this point, do you think we'll
have another Doink the rest of the Yes?

Speaker 2 (33:00):
I need, yes, we're gonna get one.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
We're gonna have one, so excited.

Speaker 8 (33:04):
There's often like these these halftime segments where they're coming
out of the booth and if they go to the
thing and it's on camera and you're actually hearing the
two but you see them and it's just here's what
we're summary of the first half, and.

Speaker 6 (33:15):
It's usually pretty general.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
We got to get that run game going.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
It seemed like the coaches on the m the.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
Field, yeah, you're not gonna get up.

Speaker 8 (33:21):
Here's our award for the most candid first half assessment
of a team, and it comes.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
From a guy who has not won the award on
this show yet. Herbie with a very Unhrbie like take.

Speaker 8 (33:33):
Take a look into his analysis of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
If I were a Steelers.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Fan, I think that we're concerned.

Speaker 10 (33:39):
Me just watching this first half.

Speaker 15 (33:41):
You're in the postseason, you're getting dominated. I don't see
any fight. I don't see any any pushback. It's one
thing that lose xos against a really talented of offense,
But where the hell is to fight?

Speaker 2 (33:56):
This is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yeah, there's nothing. They're just
going through the motion.

Speaker 7 (34:00):
Yet there's a big drive early on finally we get
Pickens into the game.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
I mean, I felt this, and I think in a way, Peter,
maybe we work in meetia or on ways we can
relate to it. This is Herbie's third game and three nights,
and I think at that point he's like, listen, I've
been working hard, I've seen some good football. I'm seeing
some crap football right now, and I'm just gonna go
from the hip and I'm gonna give you something really honest.
And it was beautiful because it was totally accurate.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
And I bet even Steelers fans liked it.

Speaker 8 (34:25):
Oh, I think Steelers fans really appreciated it. Usually it's
his rose colored.

Speaker 5 (34:29):
Glasses of well, you know, Mike Tomlin, team's in.

Speaker 8 (34:32):
Here's another playoff game, another flat half. And I thought
Herbstreet that might have been maybe his most critical but
maybe all of a Sudd's best moment in the booth
all season.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Don't I agree? And don't you feel like at this
point of the football season, yourself personally, you doing this
many shows this at some point you're like, you know, what,
screw it, boom some darts right now and Herbie bullseye, bullseye,
well done?

Speaker 2 (34:52):
What the hell are they doing well done?

Speaker 8 (34:54):
Speaking of guys who had takes, like, look, everyone's got
a cowboys take, it's it's fish jumping out of the
boat to give cowboys take into the boat, into the boat, out.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Of the boat. You don't have to even catch them.

Speaker 8 (35:03):
They just okay, that makes a lot more sense than
out of the boat.

Speaker 11 (35:07):
Hence that's why we're hearing these fake jackets and the
real guys are doing it in the booth.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
Give a man official eat for a day, Teach a
man official eat for a lifetime.

Speaker 8 (35:15):
Come on, Peter something with lemons and lemonade as well.
Troy Aikman gets on the Monday night football pregame show
and everyone's got to take and everyone's patting themselves in
the back on ESPN saying, oh, I told you Dion Dakota. No,
Aikman had the best cowboys take. Best cowboy take of
the week, Troy Aikman, take it away.

Speaker 15 (35:34):
This job's as coveted as any because you're you're going
to run the Dallas Cowboys in what direction do you
think they ought to look?

Speaker 7 (35:42):
Well?

Speaker 10 (35:42):
I thought Mike McCarthy would be the head coach, so
this is a bit of a surprise. For me today
that he's that he's not going to be and what
went into those conversations that Schefter talked about. I'm not
exactly sure, but it suggests that there's not a real plan.
I I you know, I love the Dallas Cowboys. I
played there for twelve years. I wish them well. But
to say that it's a coveted job, I'm not sure

(36:03):
I would necessarily agree with it.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Gentlemen too, he does the little things where he says
I'm not sure I would necessarily agree with that, which
softens the blow, and I understand why he's doing it,
but that's great. We still say, like he's basically saying,
who wants the Cowboys job? It's not what it is
and he's mister cowboy. It's really cool that he does that.

Speaker 8 (36:21):
It's very easy for Troy Aikman, as a former Cowboy,
to know where his bread is buttered and just come
in and be like, the Cowboys are the best team
in the world, and I love the Cowboys, and how
about them Cowboys?

Speaker 2 (36:29):
He doesn't.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
And there's a thing that ex players do, especially when
it comes to like game pick times.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
They will not choose.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
And pick against them pickast I gotta go with my
rams like it's it's really really like beneath them. And
Troy is not only picking the team against something if
he wants, he's saying like who wants to coach there?
It's incredible. You don't see it much, and I think
Troy is someone who again doesn't give a damn and
as the gleg to stand, what's the.

Speaker 6 (36:51):
Theme that we're enjoying here? Honestly and authenticity?

Speaker 5 (36:54):
Right?

Speaker 8 (36:54):
Yes, we saw that with Nate Burlison and Patrick from
SpongeBob this weekend. I watched the Nickelodeon game on Saturday.
My son and I watched it and we watched the
entire thing, and I thought it was fantastic. Nate burleson
SpongeBob Patrick for the best Off the Rails moment, We'll
go to our guy Burlson and his crew out there
for Nickelodeon No.

Speaker 11 (37:14):
No.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Eagle this year. Nate was handling play by play and
color Sponge and.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
A Starfish that's the three person and they didn't miss
a beat.

Speaker 8 (37:21):
Come on, Nate, best Off the Rails moment. Nickelodeon's SpongeBob coverage.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
That's dirty? Is that dirty? Bubbles up.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Coach hardballs out.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
No, Hardball's gonna have to take a shower.

Speaker 12 (37:42):
Huh oh he counts be careful, dirty bubble cut, big
care ball down.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Oh boy, harnball. He's gonna see if his Soviets can
really punish him clean.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Again.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
And that is Lassiter with a big play? Is Harbo
still in that throwing deep.

Speaker 12 (38:10):
Almost gotch Guess what we get another.

Speaker 7 (38:23):
Lad?

Speaker 2 (38:24):
I'm so glad we have. He's not bad, not very bad.

Speaker 6 (38:31):
Yeah, he adds element happy. He is rad.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
He is rad, he is rad, but I know that
the team is mad.

Speaker 7 (38:41):
Twenty six.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
You should be a rapper? I got the fat rhyme.
I'm still googgled.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Can you imagine Nate lighting up when when SpongeBob Patrick
started like making up rhyme lad and mad And Nate's
always wanted to be a rapper as a rapper, but
I think it's his greatest love as rappings when we're
doing like elementary level raps per did.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
You see the smile? And like, I really enjoyed that broadcast.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
I thought it was funny.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
I thought it was different.

Speaker 8 (39:10):
And as much as I love the analysis of the
too high safety, there is a place for SpongeBob on
my broadcast.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
I do, I like, we're giving it the off the
rails moment. Was there a single on.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
The rail where they just.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Talked about the three technique tackle?

Speaker 8 (39:23):
They didn't start they didn't start it with like, let
me explain the dynamic kickoff and I go, no, no.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
What are we doing here? And then it just went
off the rails from there and I hear Patrick say, JK. Scott,
he was excited. I was excited for the excited for
the pun. Let see the punt, and we were excited
for them.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Nate, I know that this off the rails award moment
is a big part of your trophy case.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
Now we love you, and that's that's into the boot today.
That's right, Hey, welcome back.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Earlier in the show, we did Whiteboard Wednesday as usual,
and the question was to compare a playoff team or
player to a professional wrestler of years past. Peter compared
Josh Allen to Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the legendary wrestler with
the American flag and the two by four, and I said,

that I'm pretty sure of. I think he had something
to do with SMU football and was signed by the

(40:07):
Falcons out of college. I think we have a photograph
of Hacksaw Jim Duggan. It might just validate some of
his football connections.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
All right, there it is.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
That's from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and there
he is, number seventy nine. I guess he played deep tackle,
Peter must.

Speaker 6 (40:20):
Be or offensive line and I don't know. Doesn't he
come great?

Speaker 2 (40:25):
It does look like Brian Baldinger. It looks a lot
like him.

Speaker 8 (40:28):
It's a good call, I said, I said Josh Allen
because he won the Royal Rumble and fought off everybody
on his way to the top. Let's go, Josh, Let's
get it done.
