Though you think, oh, Midway, we don't care.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
No, we do care because in about I don't know
fifteen hours, we get to find out what the schedule
is next season. There's life before the schedule and there's
life after where we get to make plans and get
to know our teams at our games. And look at
these guys at the table, a bunch of former players
that tell us exactly what it's like to find out
where you're going and how you're traveling there Mitch Moore
seringa me from across the table who's still got beef.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
With the push push, No he doesn't.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
That's where.

I'm Jamie r at All.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
It's schedule release day.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
This is a thrilling day because we get to find
out where your team is playing next season, the team
that you hate, where are they going?

Speaker 3 (01:28):
When are they coming to town?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
You got to buy the tickets and you got to
figure out how you all are going to get to
the postseason. Now you have seen some announcements trickled out
here and there. It's all very complicated, it's very confusing.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
We want to break down exactly what we know so.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Far in terms of what's been announced and what we
are looking forward to tonight. So we shall begin with Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Let's go all the.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Way to our first major football holiday. There is a
November twenty seven. This is where we know Jim Nance,
Tony Romo, Tracy Wolfson are getting the CBS Paramount plus
treatment with Chiefs Cowboys. Holy Hannah, that's what's happening in
Jerry world on Thanksgiving Thursday. Now, games announced so far
in the twenty twenty five season, you're looking at a

(02:11):
handful of major games. Again, the Cowboys, despite not making
the postseason. Last year, they're kicking off the season with
the defending Super Bowl champs. That is a divisional matchup.
That is Week one on Thursday night. This is how
we start the season. Week ten Eagles. They're also getting
a great treatment, deservedly so Week ten they traveled to
Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
We just found out this Chiefs Cowboys game.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
And then Bears at Eagles.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
That is second. That is November twenty eighth.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
That is the Black Friday game, actually on a Friday
of Thanksgiving week.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
We keep rolling. This is late December.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Now Fox gets a tasty little doubleheader on December twentieth
with the Commanders and the Bears hosting the Eagles and
the Packers respectively, and then the Chiefs again.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
What's going to happen in.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
The AFC West, Prime Video trickling out their games.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
This is the Christmas Day.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I think there's going to be Netflix games and.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Prime Video games.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
It's just all the streaming services. On a holiday is
a great way to spend.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
With your family. Come with me, Brad, let's go get
your passport.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
We're gonna we're we are going to look at where
you're gonna travel to or where you're gonna wake up
for It's at your early alarm clock on.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
A Sunday next season.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
The Vikings, for the first time ever, are a team
that are going to go back to back games. The
Jags have done it before, but in two different countries.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
They got to go to.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Dublin to play the Steelers, then stay overseas and face
the Cleveland Browns. These first two in London are at
Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
This guy's going to be played at Wembley.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
The Rams getting ready for that major round the world
trip in twenty twenty six to Australia, I believe, But
first they're going to try.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
It on for size.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Going to London for Lynn hosting its first ever regular
season NFL game with the Falcons and the Colts. And
then for the first time ever a lot of first
it's very exciting Madrid Spain, Jayden Daniels and the Washington
Commanders going to play Tua tug of Iilo and the
Miami Dolphins Immagrid.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
That was really fun and no one tripped, no one fell.
Now we know what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
So a handful of games have already been announced.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
I love you did great work. Okay, back to the table.
How's everybody doing well?

Speaker 7 (04:08):
For marybody else say something?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
What matchup? Are you looking forward to seeing ourself?

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Listen, I'm looking at them, your pick.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
You're just looking all around. What's the schedule.

Speaker 8 (04:16):
There's so many things going on, and I'm looking at
the Vikings and they're international, they're staying over they're playing
in two different countries, and everyone's like they have to
travel so much now. But in the Vikings defense, they're
four and o overseas. When they play overseas, they're four
and oh they play well over there, they're staying over.
I'm looking forward to seeing them their new quarterback who
is still a rookie. JJ McCarthy. Yeah, and it's your Vikings.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Actually, I mean, nothing is more mine than the Minnesota
Vikings at this point. I know that's a good point
about JJ McCarthy, that you can have all the sleep
doctors you want in the science behind how you travel
and whatnot, but the young man has never done it before.
So the fact that the Vikings have to stay over
there for two games, does that kind of blow your
mind if you were on a roster like that.

Speaker 9 (04:56):
Yeah, no, it's I'm going to speak my mind. That
is terrible oh no, not for the game. The game
goes NFL. My thing is just not only are you
playing two games overseas, you you have to change hotels,
you have to go get on another flight. Of course
it's not that far, but it's still something. It's still
another variable thrown into something that's already a coach's nightmare,

(05:19):
which is trying to corral a team, keep everything with
some bit of normalcy, and and the players. I mean,
I remember we were driving, you know, because you take
this flight it's about seven eight hours, you take your
Nike will nap, you wake up, and you know, there's
the novelty of just sitting there and you're on the
different side of the street. You're seeing stuff, and then

(05:39):
you know, guys are whispering about how we're going to
go out grab some beers, and me, who's you know the.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
I was gonna say, I'm.

Speaker 9 (05:48):
Pretty prudish, prudish going out, And then you're trying to
keep some normalcy.

Speaker 7 (05:52):
It's a work trip.

Speaker 9 (05:53):
All these things, long winded way of saying that there's
just so many things that can distract a football team
so that it will come down to the coaches and
the support staff.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
For keeping the normalcy. When normalcy is not, it's not
I'm upset of the spectrum.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
Like, let's travel, let's get something new, Let's just go play.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Football, Lawrence.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
The one that we have found out in terms of
the kickoff is the Eagles Cowboys game. Is there a
Week one game that you are most looking forward to?

Speaker 3 (06:19):
If you had to make a.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Predicient, that one is mine and beyond ho with you.
My dad's a Cowboy fan. Oh.

Speaker 10 (06:24):
When I was a kid, That's what I had to
watch consistently, And I'm like, hey, I really don't want
to watch it no more. But we were understanding that's
coming off that injury. We're understanding that Philly's coming off
that super Bowl win. Now are they going to continue
that run and try to go for a repeat or
is that going to come out there and surprise everybody
like we're going to knock down the Super Bowl champ.
My shoulders, Fine, We're going to make this amazing adventure.

(06:47):
Can they get back to being the American team as
they've seen in the last couple of years. They had
some iffy ups and down seasons, haven't won the playoffs,
But can they get to the point where they're at
and I'm gonna say this, I don't like overseas travel, Like,
like I said, it's terrible. So I join you that
that back to back. But when you have kids, I
got four little ones for me to go overseas and

(07:08):
my family can't come. That means I'm calling every night.
We're going to two different time schedules. Like why didn't
you read me a story?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
I'm like, it's a good point. So when you were
a kid, you.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Were watching the Cowboys growing up, and now we are
still trying to convince people that that is what the
team that you should be watching in primetime because the
Cowboys are getting some great games early on.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
That we know.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Is there a game that you haven't seen yet that
has been announced that you are truly looking forward that
you would want to see, like get the Answers done
off the bat Week one?

Speaker 3 (07:35):
You want to see this matchup?

Speaker 6 (07:36):
I want to see the Commanders at the Bears.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Ooh a hail Mary Remax, ooh nice.

Speaker 8 (07:42):
That is what I want to see, and I want
to see it early because Commanders are a better team,
but better teams get knocked off early on in the season. Yeah,
because especially when you're driven by your offense. You need
to build that continuity up until you're a well oiled machine.
So I think that game, that matchup early on in
the season presents, I mean, so many really good storyline

(08:05):
seeing what Caleb Williams looks like a revamped Chicago Bears
team starting from the from the coaches on down with
a Jayden Daniels led commander's team with Dan Quinn over
there and Bobby Wagner, and seeing how they can just
reinvigorate that that same spark that they had.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
From last season.

Speaker 9 (08:25):
So this makes me feel a little bit worse about
what I'm saying because all that sounds.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
Like here, so I'm sold.

Speaker 9 (08:32):
For me, I want to see the Texans at the Ravens.
Oh Okay, it wasn't the most fun game to watch
on December twenty fourth, Christmas time. For those players, it
was a thirty five to two matchup. No one watching
it or playing it was probably having that much fun,
except of course, the Ravens. But for me, yes, it
was a run down, your throat kind of game and

(08:55):
nothing was going right for the Texans and they've had
a few key pieces leave. I mean, for me, I
think Laramie tuns On an offensive line guy. But you
bring in weapons like Christian Kirk, you bring another tackling
like Cam Irving. I think it's just going to be
an explosive game. Two Titans at that quarterback position. We
were talking about Titans at quarterback position yesterday. Lamar Jackson.
I'd love to see what CJ. Stroud looks like in

(09:15):
year three. I think it's going to make this monster leap.
So give me that game and let's just watch the
fireworks go off.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
That would be excellent.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
The Ravens have kind of a spicy list of opponents
between their home in a way, they don't have spicy.
They don't have to go abroad this year, which they
have done in years past. But the fact that the
Ravens have to I just had it pulled up. Take
on the Bears, as you mentioned, but there's a Packers,
There's an NFC North list that the Ravens have to
go through, which I think is a real test for

(09:44):
a team like that. All right, let's spin it forward
as well to a Sunday night game.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
We all love the Mike.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Turico treatment that NBC gives, but it's week one, it's
Sunday nights, and again, these two teams, Marcel have been
given the we bestow upon you the honor of the
first primetime matchup.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
What you got for us?

Speaker 6 (10:04):
I think I have to go Chiefs and Bills. At
the end of the day, we've seen.

Speaker 8 (10:09):
Them so many times of the last few years in
the playoffs and we look forward to that total. Let's
see them early on in the season and see what
it looks like. And I reason why I say that
is there's a high probability that we'll see them again
in the playoffs play against each other. And if we
see them early on in the season, those two games

(10:29):
are vastly different all the time.

Speaker 6 (10:31):
Because they're two very well coached teams. They have very
very good quarterbacks.

Speaker 8 (10:36):
And they are again whale oiled machine.

Speaker 9 (10:41):
To your point, I think getting that game done early
because like so say, you you know these matchups happen
week fourteen, fifteen, and then the turnaround in the playoffs
or not and so forth, talk about how much a
team changes week one to week seventeen or eighteen. To
see that go down would be great for me. And
I'm sure like you guys you see the rumor mills

(11:03):
on Twitter are not to dive in I'm putting that
to the side. What I want to see is I
want to see Seahawks hosting the Los Angeles Rams, and
I want.

Speaker 7 (11:12):
To see Cooper Cup.

Speaker 9 (11:16):
Have a little bit of fun and year nine at
the Opera House of Looming Field Place would be nuts
the Seahawks faith or going to be screaming. I mean,
the Rams are one of the most consistent football teams
in the NFL. Is as much as you want to
say anything about you know, whatever you want, that's for
the Caps Potatoes to discuss. But for me, I want

(11:37):
to see Cooper Cup show these folks that he still
got juice in year nine coming out doing those four
M workouts where he's yaking all that stuff.

Speaker 10 (11:46):
So let him cook and have a good time both
of one of those games. When that rivalry game going
back to your old team, oh god, definite. When you
look at him like, what did he played for last year,
I'm like, okay, you know this took only a big
game for him for my pick myself home. Do the
Bills and Bengals, both Burrow and Josh Allen know how
to big plays and consistently you don't know when it's

(12:07):
going to happen. When the team needs to score touchdown,
Joe makes it happen. When when the team needs a
big play, Josh is out there. You don't know if
he's add of bounce and bounced he their like, can
we hit him on it? In the Amazona night and
with the roller coaster at the Bengals went on last year,
every game is exciting, you don't know. So if you're
a fan, you're like, what game I want to watch

(12:29):
on a Sunday night?

Speaker 4 (12:30):
That's it. I want to watch that.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
The Bengals have notoriously not jumped September quite well.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Like usually we're like, what are the Bengals? We got
to get to October first?

Speaker 2 (12:38):
We got to figure them out, Lawrence, if you were
finding out your Week one opponent, because you played for
some great organizations that had great division arrivals and the
Ravens and the Patriots, would you prefer to play a
division opponent in week one or would you would test
the waters maybe on a team that's just randomly intent?

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Do you want to test the water?

Speaker 10 (12:56):
Don't you want to get an idea when you get
a divisional opponent, like I want like at least three
games into the three games I have identity of what
you're going to do from this year. We face an
opponent that you really don't play much, You're like, I'm
gonna go off for the following year left they got
a new head coach. Now, if they got a new
head coach, it's a different dynamic and like, what are
we going to get? But when you come to those

(13:17):
rivalry games in the division, once you get three four
games in, that mean hey, I get to go out
there and hit you as hard as I can because
I know exactly what you're doing.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
It's the copycat league.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Yep.

Speaker 9 (13:26):
To Lawrence's point, I mean that Week one, when you're
trying to game plan for a team and they do
have a coaching change, you have no idea what to
look at. Your coaches are throwing in, well, this is
what the defense coordinator did at this team. You're watching
other teams film, and then you're trying to get personnel,
and you got to pull personnel, say that you have
key additions, you're pulling it from another team. And then
the truth of the matter is they show all this

(13:48):
stuff in preseason. They don't run to us a little
bit of that. So, like he said, the first few weeks.
You want to get those kind of molded out, get
the identification of your team and the heartbeat of your team,
and also kind of get a little bit more of
what the other.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Team's don Marcel had a good suggestion, Mitch, if you
have saw Chiefs Bills week one, who would you be
cheering for?

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Why?

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Why?

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Because it's the job of the person sits in this
chair to ask the questions.

Speaker 9 (14:17):
Okay, so we're currently selling our house in Kansas City,
so I still have a few weeks to live there
and I don't want to get mugged outside of the warehouse.
That being said, it would be hard not to root
for the team in blue, just the time on task spent. Uh,
the you know, I still have a lot more guys
that you know, still camaraderie, fellowship in that in that building.

(14:40):
There's just been so much turnover that's a real ways
And because I'm scared, I'm scared, I don't wear to
death a few weeks. That being said, it would it
would take away from the fact that watching these games,
vers these two teams, especially not having like a true

(15:00):
dog and I'm.

Speaker 7 (15:01):
Not playing for anything anymore.

Speaker 9 (15:02):
It is one of those things that's clean Shane, You're
gonna say, like, don't say this, but I'm just looking
for everyone to have fun.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Yeah yeah, yeah, classy. Sell it to a Chiefs sell
it to a Chiefs fan who wants you out of town.
Maybe it's like a reverse psychology effect. Now that you
just said I'm gonna cheer film, I'm not that smart.
All right, We're all gonna be a lot smarter tonight
at a PM Easter where we find out the twenty
twenty five schedule. It's next NFL season and it's coming
in faster than you think. Highly anticipated events happening this evening.

(15:33):
Every game revealed, every rivalry, every rematch, every single rookie debut,
and it all goes.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Down right here.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
NFL Network, eight pm Eastern on Wednesday, May fourth.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
That's night.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Get all the details at NFL dot com. Slash schedule
release still to come on our show. Good news, Bengals fans.
Your defensive lineman Trey Henderson was in Cincinnati yesterday.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Was he working out?

Speaker 6 (15:56):
No?

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Did he have some things to say about the team?
And he told reporters about his happiness, skill and his
current contract situation.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
It's not great at times.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I hear the breakfast table are going to weigh in
on this situation with one of the leading tacklers in
the game right now, plus white Ford Wednesday for one
of the rare times I think all three characters at
the table have never played white Ford Wednesday. We have
it's Arts and Crafts Hour, get your Whitebard, your marker.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Most importantly, you're a racer, and we are.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Going to go favorite NFL international moment since Mitch has
used so so fond memories of going international.

Speaker 5 (16:38):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
I think if you worked on a major news network,
we've called this an ongoing situation with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Yesterday I go Marrie Football.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
We talked about if we agreed with how the Cincinnati
Bengals are handling this Trey Henderson contract negotiation situation. Wednesday,
the first team All Pro showed up at mini camp
but will not participate, and he had plenty to say
about why.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
A little bit transpired between me and Zach. We've tried
to keep it as less at least amount personal as possible,
but at some point in this process it becomes personal,
you know, being sent thirty days before mandatory camp or
however to any days it is that if I don't

(17:25):
show up, I will be fined. Alludes to the fact
that something won't get done in that timeframe, like the
meetings that we've had prior to right, I have a
tremendous amount of respect for the ability to be in
meetings with them behind closed doors, and what was conveyed
of the vision of what I would be in this
organization would be if I continue to play at the

(17:47):
level I am, that the door would be open to
continue long term discussions about contracts. We're just not seeing
eye to eye on the structure. It seems that a
shorter deal is something that they are pushing pretty hard.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
Then next year we're just kicking the can down the road.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Hey, I'm going to sit out or to say I'm
not going to. What I can say is I'm very
disappointed with the communication that's been had.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Those are strong words from Trey Hendrickson to say that
this is what the team is alluding to, kicking the
can down the road and then to have different scenarios.
But what he really wants to say is that he
is disappointed. How do we translate these comments?

Speaker 3 (18:27):
What do we think I.

Speaker 8 (18:28):
Think different than I did twenty four hours ago? Oh, oh, yeah,
after seeing how the situation is developing, after hearing his words.
Words are important, and Trey Henderson is a smart guy.
Timing is everything in all of sports when you're talking
about contract situations and negotiations, and the timing is obviously
off on this, I would say that the Cincinnati Bengals

(18:51):
made a massive mistake in how they're handling this situation.
Trey Henderson, on the other hand, is doing everything with
the purpose, it seems up until this point. He's disappointed
in the communication and he obviously fields like he was
deceived I'll say, in some way, shape or form in
the communication from last year to this year. The Cincinnati

(19:13):
Bengals have a problem on their hands. It's going to
either cost them a lot more money, yeah at this point,
or it's going to cost them a game wrecker in
their defensive end, at star defensive end that they have
on their football team.

Speaker 9 (19:28):
Well, that interview was interesting to me. He was dressed
like he was about to go play some golf right
after and then rectifying the situation is what we talked
about twenty four hours ago. It seems that you couldn't
be more of an opposite situation. Right now, we went
to see a guy. At what Marcel said, Trey Hendrickson

(19:49):
did not mince any words. He said he was calculated
what he was doing. He is frustrated and you need
the guy on all cylinders week one with a fat pocketbook,
feeling like he's been compensated to what he's owed and
that is a lot of money, dude, figure it out.
We're getting to a point where it's make or break

(20:10):
with this saying sure the season doesn't start sol September first.
We've been saying that for a while on the situation
and nothing's getting done. In fact, it seems to be
getting worse. Please, Zach Taylor, don't make it personal. And
something I know we're going to talk about is a
very personal thing in these contact contract situations. Keep the
one guy in defense. You have extremely happy Yes, I

(20:33):
agree with you.

Speaker 10 (20:34):
So I've been a part of these contract talk before
in my situation, not miss Minnie Camp and you're thirteen.
Love that like, hey is year thirteen. I'm missing this.
This is what's going on. But when you're in those conversations,
you're going off with somebody's word, right, if you got told,
if you perform a certain way and you did that

(20:54):
and succeeded that performance. You should be obligated to the
contract extension that you should got, should get. But we
can't also forget this is part of his family also,
he just had a child. Right, where is your what
are you going to raise your child for the next
couple of years? You want to know this. You did
the trade aspect, you know what he's worth. That doesn't
mean you're going to get traded now they know what
you what your value is. And do you really hold

(21:15):
somebody to that one year contract or do you keep
your word? And that's why I hear when I when
I hear him speak like their word is not being kept.
And the biggest thing is when you get told hey,
if you miss mini camp, you're miss You're gonna get fined. Right,
we all know what the fine is. I felt the
fine personally, but it's to a fact with if you're

(21:35):
going to say hey, this is it, say this is it,
this is your last year, you ain't going to be
here next year, then fine, that's it. If you're like,
then trade me. If it's not trading me, okay, let
me move my family out and understand why I'm going
to raise my child for the next couple of years.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
When he says, you know things got personal, do you?
Is that how you're translating it is that you take
it personally if someone verbally implies something and doesn't live
up to their word, and which part of this feels
personal when you're going.

Speaker 10 (22:02):
Through it's about and you're having a conversation whoever it is,
the GM, the head coach, or the owner, when they're saying, hey,
if you perform to the love of that we think
you're going to perform, you should deserve this contract extension.
That means you're giving me your word. Don't go back
on your word. That what makes it personal because it's
about our families. At the end of the day, our

(22:24):
families are here. We're sacrificing to play this game every
single week for you and for the organization. Compensate me.
What he did last year was super impressive. I was
here for a cup of coffee. I got to see
the experience. He deserves every bit of what he's asking for,
and they should do it. You can't lose a player
like that as the samit's retired, he is that next

(22:45):
leadership in the locker room.

Speaker 9 (22:47):
Listen these the game of football is an interesting one,
especially at the professional level, when it comes to the
family environment. Coaches are going to preach that listen, the
teams are the titles that treat each other like family
are the ones that are going to have the most success.
And to a point, I think that's the case. But
this is a business and the nature of the sport.

(23:07):
I don't know if it's the camaraderie aspect of it
or maybe because you throw that family piece into it,
things get personal. As much as you like to sit here,
I can sit here and say, listen, I understand it's
church and state. There's business in this and there's not.
When someone says you're not worth something, or they ask
you to take money away from your family and question it,

(23:28):
maybe to just to yourself, question the kind of player
you are, the viseral guttural reaction is personal, and I mean,
I don't think Trey's a viseral guttural guy. I think
this has been something that's been dwelling and kind of
a culminating of a stealing. That's a great word that
I went through a little bit of something not quite
to Lawrence's deal, where I got asked to take a

(23:48):
pay cut and At first it was definitely something that
hurt my soul. But then you look at you take
a step back, and it made a lot of sense.

Speaker 7 (23:57):
This instance is not that.

Speaker 9 (23:58):
Yeah, this is something you have to rectify, and I
can't say enough. I have my words that I say
every day rectified million work.

Speaker 8 (24:08):
I had a different experience for me, so when I
was going through my contract situation the second time, well
really both times with the Raiders, I had a different
type of personal relationship, first with Al Davis than with
Mark Davis, and I knew that I could trust their
word and have confidence that we were going to get
something done. On the other hand, when you're talking about

(24:29):
getting personal, because I've been on the player side and
also on the executive side, there are times during those
contract negotiations where you start to be compared to other
players around the league and on your team, and at
times it can get personal by implying it you're not
worth a certain amount of money or a certain value.

(24:50):
It seems to me, and this is me from the
outside looking in, that trade is very involved in his
contract negotiations with his agent.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
I don't know who his.

Speaker 8 (24:57):
Agent is, and he may have heard about some of
those intricate details that are.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
Being spoken about compared how he's being.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
Compared, whether it's to the other side of the ball
on his team and how they're being valued, and a
lot of that money being thrown around or even to
other teams. Maybe it's Max Crosby with his deal or
Miles Garrett with his deal and the value that they've
been shown. So I think that the personal the personal

(25:25):
issues that he's talking about and that he alludes to
in his interview could be to be a little.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
Piece of that.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Trey Henderson is known as we have described him several times.
He's like a star on the Bengals defense, and I
look elsewhere at a name that we continue to say,
when is this contract coming on a star on a defense,
which is Michael Parsons and they don't play the same position.
I get that, but in terms of singular player impact
on a defense, it must be infuriating if I put

(25:53):
myself in that scenario, whether you're in Dallas or Cincinnati,
because you're seeing seems everyone else on your team, for example,
a pair of wide receivers get paid right in front
of you, and it's just like, where is the investment going?
You can't be a lopsided team. Is there some part
of the rage factor that comes in with I am
at times? Trey Henderson is a singular pillar holding up

(26:14):
those Bengals defense.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Just invest in me? What's that about?

Speaker 2 (26:18):
How does that make one feel if you're seeing your
team spend elsewhere?

Speaker 10 (26:21):
Well, let's think about it, Like when you know what
you mean to the team? Right, we would should like
that every player in every locker know who you mean
to the team. Would you bring to the table? And
when you see your other teammate get paid, you're happy, Like,
I'm pro player. I want every player out there getting paid.
Get the money from the owners. We have a short

(26:42):
time in our careers to get it right. That's just
the bottom line. So you're happy for them, but you
have to also understand, like when is my turn? What
do I have to sacrifice more to get what you
told me off want to get? So you're happy for
your teammates, you're cheering them on, you're texting them congratulations,
but when is it my turn?

Speaker 6 (27:00):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (27:00):
That makes sense.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Four of his eight seasons he's aid double digit sacks,
and last two years he said seventeen and a half
each season.

Speaker 8 (27:08):
Jamie, to your point. There are few players where the
position is irrelevant to when it comes to their contract.
We're talking about players like Miles Garrett for the Cleveland Browns,
or Max Trosby for the Las Vegas Raiders, Michael Parsons
for the Dallas Cowboys, Trey Henderson for the Cincinnati Bengals.
They're on the defensive side of the ball, but it
doesn't matter. They are pillars, like you said, and that's

(27:29):
the perfect perfect word to describe these types of players
and the impact that they have on your team, on
the field, on your locker room, and also.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
In the community and your fan base. So you have
to pay themself.

Speaker 7 (27:42):
The things will happen when you give Jarrek Carr time.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Urge twenty two.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Derek back fucking left, knock up middle.

Speaker 7 (27:50):
We're gonna throw a bomb.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
Boy, don'pen up already.

Speaker 7 (27:52):
Cooper's got it.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
He's gone twenty ten code.

Speaker 7 (27:56):
Touchdown, hard down the.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
Middle of the field, open roller, welcome back.

Speaker 7 (28:03):
Dat Carr steps up and he's looking for the jurne.

Speaker 9 (28:07):
He's looking for my kats and that is a touchdown
all lift.

Speaker 7 (28:13):
The Saints.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
News over the weekend was that Derek Carr was calling
it a career after playing for two franchises but truly
having an impact with the Raiders in two different cities.
Marcel Reese, you played alongside him, you worked for the
Raiders when Derek Carr was there. You had some words
to share for your friend and your former teammate.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
Yeah, more than just a friend.

Speaker 8 (28:33):
Derek is a brother, right, And a lot of times
we play a kid's game for a profession and we
love it, and Derek.

Speaker 6 (28:41):
Is and was one of just He's just one of
the good guys. And he did it right.

Speaker 8 (28:46):
Derek is a man who did the right things for
the right reasons every single time and always impacted everywhere
that he went. So to you, DC, thank you for
everything that you gave the game. You did it right.
You had a great career, a wonderful ride. I'm proud
of you.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
I love you. To you, Heather, the kids, congratulations.

Speaker 9 (29:08):
I have met so many people in this fraternity that
we call the NFL that have had intercounters. Mike looked
much like Marcel with this man, Derek Carr, and everyone
shares the same sentiment. He is an extraordinary human first
and foremost before he is an extraordinary football player, which
he is I had a limited interaction with him when

(29:29):
we turned the Pro Bowl into a flag football game
and they gave this old man that make a wish
Pro Bowl, which I appreciate. But Derek and I got
to hang out quite a bit. He got to introduce
himself to my kids, and little things like that go
such a long way. So Derek, my friend where it's camera,
congratulations on a beautiful career. We wish you nothing but

(29:50):
the best, and I know that it'll be successful for
both of you and your family.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
I can agree with you.

Speaker 10 (29:55):
Derek Carr probably one of those players that on the
film and ASTI field. He is an amazing person. I
will never get the time that I hit him and
he said, good hit infuriates you. You're like, do you
just tell me good hit? I want you to grow
into something. But he was always had that passion to
him and if you look at him on the field,
he had his teammates back for regardless, every single doubt,

(30:16):
knowing the ups and downs of the season. He is
a Mason person, a Mason player, and like I said,
I wish him a great retirement. I know you're going
to have a lot of fun outside this game with
your family.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
You go enjoy every minute of it.

Speaker 6 (30:29):
You know.

Speaker 8 (30:30):
They say leadership is defined by how you make one
feel after you leave their presence. And when you hear
someone talk about Derek Carr, they don't mention numbers and
he has all the numbers. They don't mention the touchdowns,
and he has all the touchdowns, and he can make
every throw on the football field, But they talk about
the effect and the impact that he had off the
field and in someone's life. So that is, you know,

(30:53):
being a leader and a great leader and a great man.
It embodies what Derek Carr is as a football player and.

Speaker 6 (30:59):
What he is as a man.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
One of the great Native sons of Central California. Fresno
State was already great, but the cars really did it
justice and the David Carr already a colleague at the network.
Perhaps instead of a player's only corner, we be like
a car's only corner.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
On NFL network.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
David and Derek, You're welcome on GMFB anytime. Derek Carr,
congratulations on a great, great, great career.

Speaker 11 (31:21):
Let me return football.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
In the last handful of years, the NFL has.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
The NFL.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
We're doing hand gestures. Who are like waving people through
around third base. The NFL has played just five international
games per year in the last couple of years. That
number is changing. Next season we're hitting seven, all right.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
We are playing.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Three in London, one in Brazil, Ireland, Germany, and Spain.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
We're going several several.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Countries of vikings for the first time ever, two games
in two different countries, staying over in Europe. So it's
whiteboard Wednesday time. Lawrence, Mitch and Marcel never done the
whiteboard before. So everybody just write your answers down and
the screen grab of.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Infamy is how this is going to work. All right.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Your favorite NFL international moment from the time that you
were playing is Marcel, you go first show them to
the people.

Speaker 7 (32:26):
Oh hey, but you're.

Speaker 6 (32:27):
Gonna go with hosting the skills clinics for the.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Youth, for the youth, for the youth.

Speaker 6 (32:31):
For the kids, for the kids wholesome.

Speaker 8 (32:33):
But the reason, the reason why is it energizes you
because they have so much love for the game that
they don't necessarily understand, but they just know what's fun,
they know it's skillful, and then you get.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
To have fun with them and they get to get
to meet Marcel Reeves while they're over there too.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Is yours just a whole sun with Mitch?

Speaker 7 (32:52):
You heard, well, that's a great question.

Speaker 6 (32:56):
No.

Speaker 9 (32:57):
Mine is party on the plane. Party on the plane.
There's nothing worse than losing on the plane. There's not
something better or nothing worse than losing internationally, nothing better
than winning internationally. Regardless, We're going to sneak into the
duty free zone and just look around in the first
few hours of something's being passed around, and we're all

(33:18):
super sober by the time that we planned. Well, my
rookie year, this is my rookiear of course, because you don't.
No one does that anymore, but my buddy Lauren duvinet
Tardy if an actual doctor Canadian great football player McGill University,
was studying for a giant exam because we usually, you know,
back then, teams would usually have their bie weeks after.

(33:38):
So I'm sitting there with this book I can barely read,
just because of my stupidity, not because of my quote
unquote sobriety, and I'm quizzing him on this giant test
for about four hours.

Speaker 6 (33:49):
It was.

Speaker 7 (33:49):
It was a party on the plane.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
You helped as soon to be physicians study for a
med school exam while partying on a plan on the way.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Back from an international game.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Yeah, well, the greatest sentence it's ever been said on
this shof it.

Speaker 7 (34:02):
Was it was a debauchery.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
It was did he pass?

Speaker 9 (34:05):
He's still down at the letter, Sam Laurence.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Let's start off. I got the bootleg version.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
Oh no, oh, trade.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
It is what it is.

Speaker 10 (34:17):
There we go, Okay, they got me now, so mineus
meeting the fans and I'm gonna do don't mind my
hand right.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Answers for you?

Speaker 10 (34:28):
Yeah, my handwriting, my hand right in the food. That's
my big boy moment there, when when you look at it, like, hey,
you get to meet all these new fans out there.
You never knew they were supporting your team. They know
everything about you, and you can see the culture with
the food, and it gets into it like the food
is different overseas if everybody's been there, if somebody has
a chance, it is different. It doesn't fill you up

(34:50):
as much, and you can enjoy. I say, you can eat.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
More over there, right, The more bang for your buckman,
more bang for you.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
It's true about the fans.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
I think very rarely, especially later in anyone's career. Can
you have an appreciation like this is the first time
someone is seeing you or your team and like having
that it's not just a season ticket.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Holder, it's not whatever.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
It's like that is a one, perhaps once in a
lifetime experience that they get to sit.

Speaker 10 (35:14):
I'm watching, Like, how many times does a fan get
to enjoy their favorite player that they watch so much
on those late night TV shows, Like it's one of
those experiences you got to enjoy, like from player to fan,
it's a joyful experience.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
All right, go into your rolodex. Now, guys that you
played with and played against or played for. Second whiteboard question,
use my white bird. Okay, we're not trying to treat
you at.

Speaker 7 (35:37):
The bootleg O the Swamp version.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Yeah, u'se the real one.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
The iconic series American Gladiator is getting a reboot. WWE
Superstar The Miz will be.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Hosting on Amazon Prime.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Oh my gosh, ten year old Miz is screaming about this.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
So American Gladiators.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
If Kyle Brand were here, he'd be able to list
off seventeen different Gladiators.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
I can't do that, so I know you understand.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Zapp Apparently as somebody, the player or coach that you
would want to see now, Pete and American Gladiators is
as follows Marcel Man.

Speaker 8 (36:08):
This is a hard one because we can go with
a ton of people, myself, Mitching and Lawrence included, but
I am going to go with a fullback in Lorenzo
Lolo Neil. Now, listen, Lorenzo, before he was a soon
to be hopefully a Hall of Fame football player, was

(36:29):
a All state and national champion wrestler, and he would
crush this.

Speaker 6 (36:35):
In American Gladiators.

Speaker 8 (36:36):
And I think both of you are probably too young
to have actually seen witness American Gladiators because I can
rattle them off to whether it's Turbo Sky or anyone
else that was in this series. But I think we
should do it, getting Lolo back in a singlet and
tackling the civilians and stopping them from putting.

Speaker 7 (36:59):
The balls in the can.

Speaker 9 (37:01):
Speaking of singlets, we might we might not want to
put this great man in a singlet.

Speaker 7 (37:09):
Don't let him fool you.

Speaker 9 (37:10):
I want to see I want to see big Red. Listen,
don't let the facade fool you. This man is a killer.
He puts on a stoic face, but he's got an
exuberant personality. He's going to find a way. Someone told
me the other day that Andy Reid is two weeks
ahead of everyone else in all facets of life, and

(37:32):
that was first of all super slick and spending a
minimum amount of time with him for a few years.
I said, there's nothing more app to describe the man.
It would just be musty television. I love Andy Reid.
And then also he'd.

Speaker 6 (37:46):
Wear a single too, really good?

Speaker 7 (37:47):
What is that passing?

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Is a single?

Speaker 7 (37:50):
Yeah't look at me like that.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
You just said, I have never seen the show.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
What's like there's no shirt underneath it, and it's just
like man man top and it just like looks like.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
Like a tank top, but men wear it man.

Speaker 8 (38:07):
Top the leotard but for theotard, but for men.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
And like there's there's shorts involved. Understood single?

Speaker 10 (38:12):
It coaches though, right, we don't keep it to the
coach motion. We're gonna do Dan Campbell. We look at it.
We risking everything. My man risks everything, like hey, should
he kicked the figger? We're going for it. That's just
what he is known for. I want to put no
other person in a situation like that. He might sacrifice

(38:34):
some people during the competition, but he will be the
guy for me.

Speaker 6 (38:38):
You're joking with his penmanship.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
No, it is what it is.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
No, it's it's perfect.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Actually I was going to help him, but I actually
think it's authentically Lauren's.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
Guy, and I'm not gonna. I can't understand it's legible.

Speaker 10 (38:49):
Don't look here. It's like you see these fingers and
these are lineman fingers. All my fingers are being looking
at that when they say, hey, how do you play
in the trenches?

Speaker 4 (38:59):
This is it? Every finger is in a certain way.
It is what it is.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
At this point, I think it's a great answer.

Speaker 6 (39:05):
I do.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Dan Campbell's like, I'm gonna put Penny stool out and
try to convert on third down with my right tackle
catching a pass out the right side. And he also
will take a man down. Apparently in a singlet man,
we need a third coach. How do you compete in.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
An American gladiators one on one or there? It is?

Speaker 6 (39:20):
There's one.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Can you imagine?

Speaker 3 (39:23):
Can you imagine?

Speaker 7 (39:26):
Yes?

Speaker 12 (39:26):
I can verbal home, my gosh, white Ford Wednesday, we
are we have never missed Kyle Brant Moore than talking
about singlets and Dan Campbell in a singlet and I
will not do the voice.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
It's not gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (39:43):
How you doing?

Speaker 4 (39:43):
They show me, I'll do something today.

Speaker 7 (39:45):
I love it out here. Barkley is officially a bird.

Speaker 8 (39:50):
And our stuffed in yet thinking dig chut p dusk.

Speaker 9 (39:55):
And then in US Munic games, let's see on Thompson.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
How good is that.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
The international experience is happening seven times over?

Speaker 3 (40:14):
In twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
I made a joke that I looked like a realtor
to start the show. Now I feel like a flight attendant.
This is what we're working with. Teams have to board
planes for upwards of ten, twelve, fifteen hours to go
play these games. We have a little exercise we are
going to play on GMFB. We have created a as
some would say in TV, a graphic and we have.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
Placed various characters throughout the NFL in seats on a plane.
And if you are flying to.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
An NFL international game, you have to pick your seat.
For example, if you wanted to just go with the
single share seat partner, you.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
Could sit on the left side. This was my idea.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
I think I'm just nuts enough to pick seat five
and sit next to Tomlin and Harbaugh. And if you
don't want to see a single daylight of armrest, you're
going to pick seat eight between Miles Garrett and Chris Jones.
Those are your options. Kyle Brandt would only pick seat one.
Kyle and I approach the airplane very differently. He doesn't
speak to people. Mascots don't speak. I do talk to people. Lawrence, guy,
you have ninety seconds to get all through you in.

(41:09):
If you had to pick a seat, what you got.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
I'm picking three for one.

Speaker 10 (41:12):
I want to be next to one of the smallest
night Okay, the two he's support right. Most likely he's
going to go to seat five. So now I got
two free seats from money.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
You're a genius. That is genius. Well done, Well done, Mitch.

Speaker 7 (41:25):
I'm also gonna go the Eyele.

Speaker 9 (41:27):
I'm gonna pick seven because I'm gonna get some fashion advices.
You can see I need it from these two folks.
And my prostate's gonna make me get up and down
about five times to go peek.

Speaker 4 (41:40):
Brillions.

Speaker 8 (41:42):
Like Kyle, I'm gonna go with one, oh for different
reasons though, I have seniority over Blue, so I'm gonna
make Blue get up and go sit by the other
person who likes the dance Travis Hunter number two And
I'm gonna have the bulkhead seat with two seats all
by myself and I have enough room and now.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
And also, if Blue is bringing that pie of whipped
cream that he smacks people in the face with, he's
probably going to do it to a divisional opponent. You're
that's just a genius idea. Oh my gosh, so sorry,
Sauce and Patrick, and.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
No one's messaging, no one's sitting next to bijon, And
who would ever choose to eight? Why would you do that?

Speaker 4 (42:21):
Ri territ?

Speaker 8 (42:22):
I guarantee you on that Kansas City Chiefs playing Chris
Jones has an isle to himself.

Speaker 7 (42:26):
Hey, that's out it is.
