Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
This is Good Morning Football. Welcome into our show. We
are live in both LA and New York. However, I
believe that the three games we are about to talk
about to not reside in either of the cities in
which we all sit. But here's the business. That's akbarabushb
and Milla, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brant, New York. I'm Jamie Erdolf.
What's happening, good people. Here's the challenge. We're about to
go into a segment where we talk about three big

(00:46):
time matchups. And sometimes we know that you like to commit, nay,
over commit at times, so just don't do it. Okay,
don't wager any facial hair. No, it's all good.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Just give your takes, but take no predictions. Don't do it.
Don't bait him. Kyle Right, Peter said, best NFL slates
of the year, and it's coming up this week again.
We had to pick from the bouquet of games for
just three this weekend. Here's the assignment. All the gentlemen
are gonna get assigned one game, one matchup, and then
We'll ask three questions and they all have to give
their takes on their games. Here you go, Peter, you

(01:17):
have been assigned the Steelers Ravens game. Kyle, naturally, you
have chiefs, bills and op bar. You're gonna unpack Eagles
commanders for us. Shall we play and answer questions about
each of your Matchups's all right, We're gonna start with
the quarterbacks. Which quarterback for your matchup? Peter? Do you
think has the best story so far this year?

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Oh, it's gotta be Russell Wilson, right, I think Russell
Wilson is the story of maybe any of the quarterbacks
in the league. The revitalization, the renaissance, the russ Aissans.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
If you will.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Russell Wilson was written off. He was written off, signed
a one year deal for about a million dollars, like
bare minimum. Denver's paying the majority of his contract. Nobody
wanted Russell Wilson.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
He met with the Giants like, yeah, Dana Jones, we're good,
you know, Like Russell Wilson is now at the helm
for a really good, really viable, potentially Super Bowl contending
Steelers team, and he's doing it after being only inserted
after his team already started off four and two.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Love the Lamar story.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
It's so hard to go back to back MVP, and
he's in the conversation. But Russell Wilson might be the
story of all of football ten weeks through the season,
let alone this game. I'm gonna sa Russell's the better
quarterback story. Pretty cool to watch your makeup just made
it up, all right, Russell.

Speaker 7 (02:35):
So it's already been put on fifty T shirts.

Speaker 8 (02:38):
He got it pretty good.

Speaker 9 (02:39):
That's really good. I just I want you to make
money off of about.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Branded all right.

Speaker 7 (02:43):
Better story between the between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
I actually think it's slightly Patrick Mahomes. At the beginning
of the season, the story was Josh.

Speaker 9 (02:51):
Allen's receivers are all gone? What is he gonna do?

Speaker 7 (02:53):
And that still does exist, especially now because even Kean
is out and Amari is out.

Speaker 9 (02:59):
And yet I've just, guys, I've talked about this so much.
It's so interesting to me.

Speaker 7 (03:02):
First of all, the Patrick mahomestistically is playing the worst
football of his career and he has.

Speaker 9 (03:07):
The best record of his career.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
Never been nine to oh, never been eight to oh,
certainly never been ten.

Speaker 9 (03:12):
And oh if he wins this weekend.

Speaker 7 (03:13):
I just really really am entertained and in fact riveted
by the sloppy, kind of boring plotting nature of the
Chiefs offense. They have what we all consider to be
the best player in the league, and their offense is
like Kareem Hunt for two yards, then Kelsey for seven yards,
and Kareemont for two yards and first down.

Speaker 9 (03:31):
It's really really different. It's not that effective.

Speaker 7 (03:34):
The defense is fantastic, and Mahomes is just treading water.
He's in among the league leaders, and interceptions, he's right
in the middle of the pack and quarterback rating all
of that. He's not doing magical things and they're still winning.
To me, that is slightly more interesting than Josh Allen
doing magical things like he always does and having them
at eight and two.

Speaker 9 (03:53):
I ever think it's Mahomes by just a little bit.

Speaker 8 (03:55):
You know, I'm gonna go for this game. I'm looking
at Jalen Hurts and I'm looking at Jayden Daniels, and
it's interesting how Jalen Hurts somehow, with the success they're having,
he still is kind of still floating and flying under
the radar. But I do think that the better story
here has to be Jade and Daniels. And I think
it's because he's rising up above the expectations. I don't

(04:15):
think anyone expected this type of success out of Jade Daniels.
They knew he was very, very talented. I still remember
earlier in the season, earlier in the year, they were
talking about the talent that he doesn't have around him,
and it's not going to be like some of the
other quarterbacks a Lah Caleb Williams who have a plethora
of receivers and running backs. We're talking about you know McLaurin,

(04:36):
and we're talking about Eckler and people. Ah, yeah, Eckler.
He did his thing a little bit with the Chargers
and he doesn't have any weapons around him.

Speaker 9 (04:43):
Yep.

Speaker 8 (04:43):
Now now where is he now? Seven and three? You're
looking at jayde and Daniels, and I just think that
the success, the calmness that he's been able to show
every single game, he's always bringing you a different element.
I thought it was highlighted in the Chicago Bears game
with that hell Mary just being injured. Staying in the moment.
His story continues to develop. It's one that you just
have to tune into. This is like one of those

(05:05):
long series that's on one of those streamings, Like you're
just committed to watching every single game until the finishes out.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Very good, very well executed on all of your assignments
so far, gentlemen. Next up, take your game, look at
the teams, and decide which team needs a win more Peter, Oh.

Speaker 8 (05:23):
Good one here.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
I'm gonna also go Pittsburgh. I think Pittsburgh is enjoying
this nice ride right now, but they haven't even played
a team in their division. So when the playoffs come
and they don't look at who had great wins in
October and November and who is dramatic against those NFC teams.
A lot of it is what do you do in
your division and if you're in the division, had your
fare And the Steelers historically have not the last few

(05:45):
years been awesome within the division. Bengals, Browns, Ravens, they
haven't played any of them yet. For the Steelers to
jump out in week eleven and get a one and
zero lead in that and it's almost like two games
because you know it's gonna be these two teams at
the end jocking for that home playoff game and one
of them will likely be a wildcard, the other one's
going to be a division winner. I think it's the Steelers.
They need this win more. The Ravens. They've already got

(06:08):
their games they're going to They've already beaten the Bengals.
I know they lost to the Browns, but they're gonna
get their off the opportunities. If the Steelers will do
all this and then start off all in one of
the division, I don't think it's a great look case Buffalo.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
The Bills need to win more, and I don't really
buy into any of these existential reasons about they need
to beat the champs and remind them that they can
beat them.

Speaker 9 (06:27):
I honestly think that's nonsense. They almost always beat the
Chiefs in the regular season. Look it up.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
They've beaten them in Kansas City, they've beaten them in Buffalo.
There's no message that gets sent when they beat them.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
In the regular season. Guys.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
And by the way, if the Bills win this game,
every Chiefs fan will roll their eyes and say, yeah, yeah, great,
good for you did it again.

Speaker 9 (06:44):
We'll see you in the playoffs.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
The reason that Bills need to win more is when
when you were at their.

Speaker 9 (06:48):
Record, which is eight and two. You're trying to get
the number one seed.

Speaker 7 (06:52):
You're trying to get the buy, you're trying to get
home field. They go to nine and two, Kansas City
goes to nine to one.

Speaker 9 (06:57):
It's all in play.

Speaker 7 (06:58):
It's also why I don't buy into the storyline up
the Bills should play conservatively with their roster because the
buyers and they are all your way up in the
AFC East. No, no, no, the AFC East is a given.
They're going to win the AFC East. They want the
one seat in the AFC. Play every single person who
passes pregame.

Speaker 9 (07:14):
Inspection and then rest them on the buy.

Speaker 7 (07:17):
If you get to win, if they go nine to
one and nine and two, we have a duel coming
down the stretch for who's getting the buy. I think
it's massive. I don't care if they send a matches
to the Chiefs. They have unfinished business in the playoffs.
I think you want this win in the standings.

Speaker 8 (07:29):
And you know you're talking about certainty of them winning
the AFC East. You know, in the NFC East there
is no real certainty because even though the Eagles are
up top, you've got the commanders, right, there, they're right
behind you. And so for that reason, I think and
I believe that it is the Philadelphia Eagles who needs
this win. Even though they're sitting at the top of

(07:49):
the NFC East, they need this more and for several reasons.
And I think it really goes back to last year
losing in that you know, wild card game to the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ironically, their last loss this season was
to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They've gone out and they've
won five. But I think it's because the coaches and
this entire organ that like they tend to have these
coaches under a tremendous amount of scrutiny, it just seems

(08:12):
like they're just waiting. I talked about this before. It's
like beating that OTV dew and just oh, we got static,
we got picture, we got static, and it's go in
and out. Anytime there's a little bit of friction, it
just seems to turn everything around. And they're so close,
but then the commanders are right behind you. You have
to be able to create a big enough lead in
separation in this division just because the commanders are.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
A fat good I watched mad Max Fury Road on
my flight back from Munich.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
I had never.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
I had never seen it before. I liked it, but
there was a lot of this move and it reminds
me of Commanders Eagles, which is like fighting to get
back on the war rig and you're just like kicking
the guy that's down below you, or you're like and
then climbing your way up. That's how I feel like.
The Commanders are like the ankle Blighters and the Eagles,
like there's can try to pull them down onto the
dirt road or into the desert or whatever. It's just

(09:03):
like a lot of move and I feel like that
entire movie, and the movie was excellent, Like that's what
I feel like. The Commanders and the Eagles are right.

Speaker 8 (09:09):
Great reference, by the way, thank you, it was good.

Speaker 7 (09:11):
Jayden's playing a guitar that's got fire coming out of it.
You will never stop being fascinated by your playing behavior.

Speaker 9 (09:18):
You're telling me. You pull up the movies and you.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
Start swiping and swiping.

Speaker 7 (09:21):
You know what I'm gonna go with With Tom Hardy
with a metal mask on the front of a truck
with flames behind, that's what you want on Flights and then.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Mad Max Fury Road and we are the Millers. Never
seen any of them. I just it was like this.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
I was also good. And now on the place, Yeah,
wants to talk.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
To you on the play and he would talk to
me now, but never on the plane. Last up, let's
look at this. If you want to be a good
hang at the super Bowl, you got to be able
to go like the entirety, Okay, like the full five days,
seven days. You got to go to all the events whatever.
So fan bases from your specific assignments for these games
this weekend, which would be the best to go party

(09:59):
in New Orleans with? Okay, Peter, you got to pick
between in your matchup between Pittsburgh and Baltimore fans in
New Orleans.

Speaker 8 (10:07):
Oh, I got to hear this, who do you want
to hang with? Okay?

Speaker 4 (10:09):
I think this take might go viral, So let me
explain something. Let me press the viral button here. The
Ravens won the Super Bowl in Tampa in two thousand.
Twelve years later, they went to New Orleans and won
the Super Bowl over the forty nine Ers in twenty twelve.
Twelve years later, we sit here in twenty twenty four,

(10:33):
and it's another Ravens Super Bowl contending team. There may
be a universal deal here in the cosmos that every
twelve years the Ravens win a Super Bowl. Two thousand,
twenty twelve. It's now twenty twenty four, and I will

(10:53):
be here for that. If that goes down. I would
like to see the Ravens fans dancing in the streets
in Bourbon Street, just like they did twelve years ago.
We've seen this story, but gosh, would that not be
a crazy thing that every twelve years the Ravens win
a Super Bowl? Now?

Speaker 5 (11:09):
I like that lady in the bedazzled shirt. She was
ready to go, and I think they would.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
All be ready to go because the Ravens have been
so close so many times. The past few seasons, they
the number one team and lost to Tennessee in a
playoff game, recently at home. Last year, they were in
the AFC Championship Game, hosting the Chiefs and came up short.
The piked up energy and the fact that Lamar will
be the guy, I will be here for it. I

(11:33):
cannot wait.

Speaker 9 (11:34):
Bourbon Street.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
It was pretty cool with Ray Lewis and Edward and
Joe Flacco and T Sizzle. It could be even cooler
with Lamar Jackson, Kyle van Noy, and Zay Flowers. I
am going Ravens over Steelers.

Speaker 9 (11:46):
All right.

Speaker 7 (11:47):
All the thousands and thousands and millions of people who
watched that hit Peter with a follow, right, it's big
and always sound off in the comments.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
Yeah, please look me up. All right?

Speaker 9 (11:57):
Which fan based rather party with in the Super Bowl?
All right?

Speaker 7 (12:00):
So the brands with big Disney family, we like to
go to Disneyland, disney World.

Speaker 9 (12:06):
We are that family. The reason the answer to the
is that this question is the Buffalo bills.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
Is this because they ain't never been to Disney World,
most of them, you know, And if they have, it's
been years and years and years ago. The first time
you go to Disney World, it's pictures in front of
the castle, and it's a Mickey bar, and oh there's
Tinker Belt.

Speaker 9 (12:26):
It's truly truly magical. I would like to soak some
of that up.

Speaker 8 (12:30):
In New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
The Chiefs fans.

Speaker 7 (12:32):
Are like, they're the people who go to Disney World.

Speaker 10 (12:33):
They're all right, we're gonna rope drop an Animal Kingdom,
They're gonna hit the Avatar Flight of Passage. We can
get in line early. Then we have a character brunch
at Tusker House. We have reservations for that, and then
if we really hurry, we can get over in time
to the Magic Kingdom for the parade.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
We gotta go.

Speaker 9 (12:46):
We gotta go.

Speaker 10 (12:46):
We go every single year, and we have a whole
thing down. The Bills fans are like, Wow, it's Captain Hook.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Take a picture, take a south.

Speaker 9 (12:54):
It's magical, it's real.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
There they are and they're drunk off their ass that
enjoy us.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Yeah, one time, go.

Speaker 9 (13:01):
And have a good time.

Speaker 7 (13:03):
We're gonna hit Mexican, oh in France and Japan, all
the incredible countries and they we're gonna go.

Speaker 9 (13:09):
Down and honor Louisiana.

Speaker 7 (13:11):
And take pictures and really it's a life trip for them.
For the Chiefs fans, it's just what they do every February.

Speaker 9 (13:17):
It's just part of their life. It's part of their routine.

Speaker 7 (13:20):
I'd like to be with the Bills fans that first
time they go to Disney World.

Speaker 9 (13:23):
And the Super Bowl is Football's Disney World. So the
answer to me is the Bills fans.

Speaker 8 (13:27):
Okay, all right, I dig that one. I like to
have a good time, man, I like to get it
in like I like to have some fun. And so
you look at these two different fan base. You got
the Eagles, they seem a little rowdy.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
To me.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
They just seem like they'd be drinking too many of
them beers, IPOs, IPAs, IPAs, whatever it is. I don't
think that stuff. I'll take Yes, I'm good. I want
a soulful experience. I want to go and party with
the Commanders. They got that soul, that rhythm, that style.
Not to mention somebody who's part of that ownership group,

(13:59):
Magic Johnson. I'm a kid from LA. I remember the
Showtime era. I remember the President's lounge down there at
the Great Western Forum. I know how they get down.
I know Magic, He's gonna set the party up right
down in New Orleans. So I'm partying down them. And
they hadn't been to the super Bowl in a minute,
so you know they are just going to bring everything out.

(14:21):
I can see drum line down the street. I could
see the whole thing blowing up down there in New Orleans.
So I'm rocking with the Commanders down there at the
super Bowl, and I'm partying with their fans.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Drum Lions. Great movie. Also watched that on a plane recently.
I like a couple of years back, listen, Kyle said
a thing that we all went, Oh my god, that
was the most amazing, the funniest thing ever, which was
I think it was the Arizona super Bowl two years ago. Kyle,
you go, can you imagine if Bill's fans and Eagles
fans were in Phoenix and like, can you imagine the
audacity of a those people be here? Oh that's hilarious.

(14:53):
Can I just see you up on Bill's and Lions
fans in New Orleans?

Speaker 11 (14:57):
Like?

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Could that's a just conceptually, Kyle, can you walk us
through that?

Speaker 9 (15:01):
Well? I mean candidly it is. My super Bowl prediction
was beginning of the season Bill's Lions.

Speaker 7 (15:06):
And it's amazing because of the certainty one of these
teams is going to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 9 (15:13):
We are assured of it. It was It's a mutual assurance.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
And I think it would be incredible because I think
they respect each other and they love each other, and
they toast each other. I don't think it'd be morons
fighting in the streets. I think it'd be Lions fans
hugging Bills fans, all kinds of things.

Speaker 9 (15:27):
It would be absolutely beautiful, and I don't you know.

Speaker 7 (15:29):
People are saying, well, you're gonna have to declare martial
law and set up sambags.

Speaker 9 (15:32):
It's gonna be No, it's gonna be joy. It's gonna
be hugging and kissing strangers.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
It's gonna be so many of those hurricane drinks. There's
gonna be millions necklace.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
With the beads, you know, if it's because I'll also
add this, Chiefs fans might and Chiefs fans are great.
They might get in Thursday Friday because they've done it
and it's a lot, and it's like we've been to Vegas.
You know, it's a good Bills and Lions fans will
get there Saturday of the Pro Bowl weekend.

Speaker 12 (16:02):
And they will stay for Sunday Day, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
and they might stay Monday and they might fly back Tuesday.

Speaker 7 (16:16):
They attend the Commissioner's press conference on Monday, they will
do there city passing the key to Santa Clara.

Speaker 9 (16:22):
I will all be there.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
I agree with you, Jamie.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
It would be unbelievable if it was Bills and Lions
fans for an entire week.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
Oh back building Lions fans in New Orleans, like they
would be wearing the helmet with the two beers in it,
with the straw, but also the backpack with water in it,
with the hydration factor. Like that's just efficiency and that's
how you survive eight days in New Orleans. Very well done, everybody.
I like that game. Let's play again on a Wednesday.
I also like Ian Rappaport, Good morning to you, Rep Cheet,
Welcome back onto the show. The Giants are on a

(16:52):
bye week. Their GM then is obligated to speak to
the media on a Tuesday. What do we learn from
the Giants and how they go forth with a one
specific important position this season?

Speaker 13 (17:03):
Yeah, a lot of questions the Giants two and eight
heading into a bow weekue obviously not the kind of
season anyone was looking forward to or expected or anticipated.
A lot of the questions, of course, are about Daniel Jones,
the still starting quarterback for the New York Giants, and
it's not just his play, which there's been some good moments,
there's been bad moments.

Speaker 8 (17:21):
I think everyone thought it was going to be.

Speaker 13 (17:23):
We really saw I would say we really saw both
of them in Germany before the Giants ended up losing
an overtime. That rough interception sort of on him, sort
of not basically the story of his season. Really, The
question now is what do they do at quarterback? Do
they move on to Drew Locke, do they move on
to Tommy DeVito?

Speaker 4 (17:40):
What do they do with Joe Shane?

Speaker 13 (17:42):
Answering questions saying yes, of course, there is a twenty
three million dollars guaranteed for injury next year that they
want to avoid, but they will make a football decision.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Quote football decision.

Speaker 13 (17:51):
In other words, if they do bench Daniel Jones, it
won't be to save money next year, because it will
be because that is what is best for the football team.
Expecting answer after the bye. Meanwhile, for this week's game
in Houston, Texas, since may in fact be getting one
of their big time stars back, Nico Collins, who has
been on injury reserve, was the NFL's leading receiver before

(18:12):
his injury.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
Feels like a million years ago.

Speaker 13 (18:14):
We all forget that that to make a big trade
deadline acquisition, this would be their acquisition.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Very real possibility that.

Speaker 13 (18:21):
He comes back this week. He's gonna practice today, as
Demiko Ryan said, if he comes back, that would benefit
everyone was activated the last Friday.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
It's an intrigued would he play?

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Would he not play?

Speaker 13 (18:32):
He didn't play much better chance for this week. And
then a story we have been tracking for more than
a week. Dak Prescott, the Cowboys franchise quarterback.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
And have surgery today in New York City. Stuck around.

Speaker 13 (18:45):
I didn't see him at jury duty yesterday, but he
was in New York City. He's gonna have a surgery today.
Three month recovery for Dak Prescott. So it is going
to be Cooper Rush, maybe a little Trey Lance going
forward for Dallas.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Repsheet. You in jury duty yesterday?

Speaker 5 (18:59):
I did. It was annoying.

Speaker 13 (19:00):
I only stayed one day. I might have to go
back next week, but only one day. Here's the worst part.
You get in line and there's things happening yesterday. I
think I knew pretty well that Shane Waldron was probably
gonna be out, Dak Prescott was maybe gonna have surgery.
And you walk in the line and they go, all right,
everyone turn your phones off and give them to this guy,
and I go, wait, what? So I brought Netflix from

(19:20):
my iPad to watch Netflix. I brought my phone to
keep track of stuff. I brought no book, so they
took all of my electronic devices, so I read the
The GQ with Little.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Nas X on the cover.

Speaker 13 (19:33):
I read that cover to cover in about three hours.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
That was wow, Wow, that's done now and now you
can roll deep on Little nas X. That's great. Appreciate you.
We're glad you're here today. I cannot imagine when you
were told to hand over intern.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Off your phone.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Step in, Mike g and Tom Peliso or everybody all right,
peer Shreker's Fab five coming up on deck. Some of
those names that rap she just mentioned used to be
on the list, like Nico Collins, Dak Prescott. I wonder
who will be on this Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
We will go through the best rookies of the week.
We're showing a lot of commanders in Steelers Highlight. Did
our guy Beanie make the list? We will see on
the program.

Speaker 9 (20:09):
Plus Peter and I are here in New York City.

Speaker 7 (20:11):
We still have some sort of obligation to talk about
the Giants. We're gonna try to do it in a
way that's entertaining and maybe even constructive.

Speaker 9 (20:18):
Could they win Defensive Player of the Year.

Speaker 7 (20:20):
Peter sexually actually on a losing team Cortes Kennedy style. Yeah,
we'll try to make something out, but we love you.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
Davis.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Good morning Fall.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Really good week of rookie performances in Week ten, but
only five can make the Fab five. This is the
segment where we've list our top five rookie performances of
the week, and we start off in Tampa Bay where
maybe the best story of any rookie this season is
what rookie Peter saw. Let's go Peter in San Francisco,
Buccaneers Niners. Tom Brady on the call, Kevin Burkhard on

(21:03):
the mic. Let's go to the call of Ricky Piersoll's
first NFL touchdown.

Speaker 14 (21:07):
He's purty looking a rip it Ou Groves Piersoll, Ricky Piersall.

Speaker 9 (21:12):
Trying to beat his man at the end zone.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Touchdown, Sir fran Cisco.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
Ricky Piersall's first NFL score.

Speaker 9 (21:23):
What a touchdown, throw, catch and run. This is exactly
what they want to do.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
First round pick, getting action all over.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
The field on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
He was a decisive factor in this game. Obviously, you
know his story. He was shot in training camp. He
has recovered, he's back and he has been on the
field the last three games and has been truly a
difference maker. Christian McCaffrey returned to the field, but Ricky
Pearsall was the go to guy in big moments.

Speaker 5 (21:52):
Look at some of these cool stats here.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
If we talk about in the NFL's history the last
few years, like where does Ricky Piersall really rank and
where does he back it up?

Speaker 5 (22:01):
You look, if you go.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
For seventy scrimmage yards in each of the first two
starts as a rookie wide receiver, He's on a list
with Justin Jefferson, Puka Nakua, and Tank Dell as the
only other guys who have as many as Rocky Piersall
right out of the gates two starts been really good
for the Niners, and they need him. Number four, we're
going defense and we're going to a second round pick
out of the University of Iowa, mister Cooper Dejen Eagles

(22:26):
corner all over the field, suffocating performance.

Speaker 8 (22:29):
He's been on this list already.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
How about this was targeted five times, gave up two catches.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
For five yards. He also had a fumble recovery.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
He also returned three punts and he had a thirty one.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Yard punt return. He's all over the field for the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Cooper Degene has been fantastic. Here's the big punk return.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Love me the lusive, love the way he takes it out.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
And this is on a team that is loaded with
young defensive star as we mentioned them earlier. Nakobe Dean
is stepping up, Jaalen Carter's all over the field, Josh
Sweat and of course Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejen are
doing it. Love the way that this is it the
fubble recovery in the end zone where Zeke drops it.
But take a look at this. We had to get
a little bit great, a little in the weeds here,
but next gen stats powered by our friends at Amazon.

(23:14):
Fewest yards per target allowed by a cornerback. This isn't
just rookies, guys, this is everybody, and Cooper Dejen is
number one.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
That's defense.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
How about some offense. How about a rookie wide receiver
who has watched, as we've done, flips over a lot
of his brethren in the draft class. We love Ricky
Pearsol and of course we love Malik Neighbors, and we
do the Robot dunesday stuff and we can go on
and on and on about these rookie wideouts. How about
the first one taken? How about Marvin Harrison Junior, Cardinals

(23:46):
wide receiver. Take a listen to Spiro datus on the
call for his big touchdown catch against the Jets.

Speaker 9 (23:54):
First in gold. Torch again lines up at the back,
heels mwee near.

Speaker 15 (23:58):
Side to Harrison hold the shoulder, touchdown. Watch Marvin Harrison
Junior in the slot. He has the entire sideline to
work with. Does that ball location get any better? He
has taken his game to the next level.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
He's been so good and it's been so quiet because
he's playing for this Cardinals team that no one watches
every week. This is after the game fell Ohio State
Buckeye and him Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
Garrett was the offensive rookie of the year. Here he
is doing the jersey swop with Marvin Hardon.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
Now it's interesting because Marvin Harrison Junior is still wearing
a jersey, so he must have another one on.

Speaker 9 (24:36):
Yes, can't get the game? Warn, Nope, you look at
the game.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
Warn, you get the extra you get the backup one. Guys.
You know he leads all rookies with six receiving touchdowns
this year, Like quietly, he's having an outstanding And take
a look at this two of these guys and Marvin
Harrison Junior, he's out pacing his dad, who of course
was a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

Speaker 8 (24:59):
That's number three.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
Number two, we go to New England. Drake May step
right up.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
All right, you're above Caleb this week, You're above Jaden
Daniels this week, and you're above Bo Nicks this week.
Drake May makes the list out playing Caleb Williams in
a battle between the first and third overall picks. He
had one hundred and eighty four passing yards, a touchdown interception.
His stats are not gonna win you fantasy league titles, However,
he does it all for the Patriots.

Speaker 9 (25:27):
May is the first rookie with.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Six or more passing touchdowns and two hundred or more
rushing yards and his first five career starts.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
Since nineteen fifty.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
Yes, bizarre stat yet we have the crew to bring
it out here.

Speaker 16 (25:42):
Agar Guy Dante in research hits me up with this
and I'm like, yep, put it on a board. First
career s, five starts, it's nineteen fifty. It's McNabb, it's
Jalen Hurts and it's Drake May who's got better numbers
throwing the ball than even those guys.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
Drake May awesome performance. He's our top rated quarterback, which
leads to the number one defensive bookie of the week
and maybe the number one defensive player of the week
this week. Eagles corner and first round pick the pride
of the mac Quinion Mitchell. Step right up here.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
Quinion Mitchell gets.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Our number one pole position here. Unbelievable game for Quinnion
twenty eight snaps, was only thrown two four times and.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
Gave up fourteen yards.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
He has not allowed more than twenty five yards in
a game since the Eagles went on their by.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
That's five games. He has been lockdown. You watch him.
He's covering ceedee lamb, yep.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
He's covering everybody that they've got, and he is the guy.
He is holding number one wide receivers to a minimum.
Look at him on these plays here, Yeah, you can
have the catch. I'm going to attack you right away.
You look at Quinion Mitchell in coverage, all right. These
are the numbers not just against like one or taper,
against the entire teams four targets, three targets, three targets,

(27:00):
four targets. Not throwing everywhere but him, and we respect that.
Queneon Mitchell making a case for his name to be
mentioned with Jared Vers in defensive Rookie of the Year conversations.
He is a Mac player. He came out of the
draft said he wants to be the greatest Mac player
to ever play in the league. Guys, Ben Roethlisberger was
from the Mac, Antonio Brown was from the Mac.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Quenion Mitchell wants to.

Speaker 9 (27:23):
Be that dude.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Here we go Schrager's fabulous five for Week ten. Here
is our list, Quinion Mitchell one, Drake May two, Marvin Harrison.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
Three, Cooper dejan So you have two Eagles.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Corners, yeah, one and four, and then Rooky Paris all five.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Kyle, I'm gonna take a breath.

Speaker 9 (27:43):
You go, what are you getta quick breath? Peter, I'm
going right back to you. Did you or did you not?

Speaker 7 (27:47):
Kick a beehive on Twitter over the weekend as Britains
who should win Rookie of the Year and you came
out strong for Jared Verse?

Speaker 9 (27:53):
How'd that go?

Speaker 5 (27:54):
I said?

Speaker 4 (27:54):
Jared Vers is already hands down anonymous like Micah Parsons style.
I did that Monday night after a big sack and
fumble forced fumble. He looks great, and the Eagles fan
base came out out in droves, and I mean like
thousands of tweets being like, oh, well, you don't watch
quine On Mitchell every week. You watch the box score,
and you do fantasy football, you don't watch Quinyon Mitchell.
Quiny On Mitchell's not being thrown at right now. So Kyle,

(28:16):
I put the poll up there, versus winning in a poll,
but it's between those two guys right now, Jared Versu
and Quinyon Mitchell the best defensive rookies of the season.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
And by beehive, Kyle means that I'm looking at the
poll right now. Eleven thousand people voted in Peter's poll.
Jared Verse is at seventy five percent of the votes
and Quinon Mitchell is at twenty five percent. So even
though he may have kicked the beehive whatever, twenty five
percent of eleven thousand is. That's what the Eagles fans
want to vote for their guy who I always love. Peter.
You know this from his draft story. The Queenyon Mitchell

(28:45):
Toledo experience was like in this day and age of nil,
like he should go to Alabama, like transferred LSU dB
the Nope state of Toledo. The Eagles fans must love
that kind of loyalty out of a guy.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Yeah, and you remember they they took him over Terry
On Arnold, they took him over Cooper Degen.

Speaker 8 (29:02):
They took it.

Speaker 9 (29:03):
He was the first corner of all.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
The board and he gets so out of the MAC.
It's a pretty cool story.

Speaker 8 (29:07):
Yeah, And to be and the goal of wanting to
be the best to ever come out of the MAC.
I mean that's that's a tall order, especially you think
about Randy Moss two playing in the MAC. But I
like you, Ricky Pierso, I think that was an amazing story.
It's so cool to see him overcome so much to
be able to get that first touchdown. That was pretty cool, Sherry,
what you got?

Speaker 17 (29:27):
Sunday we have a big time AFC North matchup.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
We might see some of those way to plays on.

Speaker 17 (29:32):
The Ravens take on the Steelers. Through the thirty sixth time,
John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin face off against each other.
Tomlin leads the matchup in wins twenty to fifteen, but
this will be the first time Tomlin will see running
back Dereck Henry as a member.

Speaker 5 (29:48):
Of the Ravens.

Speaker 17 (29:49):
Henry leads the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns
to the first ten weeks of the season, so Toalin knows,
there's multiple ways Henry can hurt a defense.

Speaker 11 (30:00):
We got to deal with a big runner and work
to minimize his impact on the game in a couple
of Specifically, not only does is he capable of wearing
you down over the course of the game because he's
a big man and the attritionan component of it, but
he's also a home run hitter with track speed, and
so you got to deal with the wear and tear
component of his approach to play. But a bomb can

(30:20):
also go off anytime he touches it. He can go
eighty and he needs no endorsement from me in that
regard to this twenty twenty four video that confirms.

Speaker 17 (30:28):
That well now, NFL Network insider Tom Peliser is reporting
forty nine Ers cornerback Diamador Lenor agreeing to a five year,
ninety two million dollar extension with the team, or leading
the team in interceptions this season while be second.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
In total tackles.

Speaker 17 (30:44):
Now the part of these salute to service meet The
Eagles recently hosting a video game night with gold Star
Families and nonprofit dedicated to supporting children who have suffered
the loss of a military parent. Eagles players join guests
in playing video games have created a memorable experience. Great
to see there, and speaking of the Eagles, the NFL
Fan of the Year contest, presented by Captain Morgan is back.

(31:06):
Let's hear it for Eagles Fan of the Year Frank Krinitti.
Freank is a devoted fan, following the Eagles wherever they go.
I'm talking beyond Lincoln Financial Field. Freik is also a
game changer for his community as a founder of the
Delpo Group, which aims to create lasting impact on the
Delaware County community during challenging times. Most recently, they sponsored

(31:29):
a fundraiser defendant at the Eagles Autism Foundation. To learn
more about all thirty two nominees and to vote for
your favorite, visit NFL dot com backslash Fan of the Year.
Well they are on their by, but the New York
Giants continue to make headlines. Coming up next, an impassioned
look at the state of the Giants.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Good Morning Football, all.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
Right, welcome back GMFB. It's time for What's Your Beef?
Presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky. The two and eight
Giants are on a bye this week after returning from Munich,
Germany and dropping the game against Carolina Panthers in overtime. Yesterday,
General manager Joe Shane met with the media out of
obligation due to the bye week and media needing to
check in on the team, where he was asked repeatedly

(32:26):
about their quarterback Daniel Jones and his status as the
starter moving forward.

Speaker 18 (32:32):
We're going to evaluate it the rest of the week,
and the decisions we make will be football decisions. I mean,
is it intended to give your team the best chance
to win?

Speaker 9 (32:40):
Is that this.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Thanks what we're here to do.

Speaker 18 (32:43):
Yeah, I mean we'd like, yeah, we're going to do
the best football decisions for us to win games.

Speaker 9 (32:49):
How would you evaluate Daniel right this season?

Speaker 18 (32:52):
Yeah? Again, we're going to go back through all that
this we're two and eight, So again everybody needs to,
you know, including myself, look in the mirror and how
can we do things better? And again that's what we're
gonna continue to do. It's I understand you know you
guys when I asked about Daniel and it's the quarterback position.
I mean, that's what comes with the territory, specifically in
this market. And again, it's not all on one person.
It's not on one person.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
All right, let's evaluate the nature of the press conference now.
Joe Shanes presser lasted twenty six minutes where twelve questions
were asked that we just related to the quarterback in
and of itself, the quarterback in which the Giants decided
to pay about eighteen months ago instead of Saquon Barkley. Listen,
I was assigned to the Giant sideline in Munich Peter

(33:34):
over the weekend. It was very eye opening, especially in
juxtaposition to the fact that I was assigned to the
Jets sideline in London a month prior, and just watching
those two teams and quarterbacks operate and the struggle that
these two teams have been into. I'm curious what you
have been hearing from that building and just as it
relates to the quarterback and beyond.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Yeah, look, I think everyone agrees that Daniel Jones is
a tough player, smart player, and does have ability but
I think it would be fair, this isn't from their
building to also agree that the time has come where
everyone needs a change, right, a change of scenery, a
change of environment, and a change at quarterback. Now it
might not be this this season for the Giants, but
the end of the year, I think Joe Shane would

(34:15):
look at his roster and say, Okay, let's draft us
a new one or let's find another guy. I remember
I said it before the show, Like Russell Wilson came
through the Giants building like they had a visit. He
didn't sign. You know, they did a different move, and
you know that's fine. They wanted Tyrod Taylor to come
back the Jets. The Jets secured him. So now you're
left with Drew Locke and Tommy DeVito, and it's like,

(34:36):
do we bench Daniel Jones from one of those guys?

Speaker 14 (34:37):
Sure?

Speaker 4 (34:38):
At what what are we trying to gain though? From
either one of those guys? Like I don't think they're
the future either with the Giants. Look, they're one in
five and one score games. It's not good enough. They're
two and eight. They're irrelevant. But there are some bright
spots on this team, like neighbors is very good. They
drafted Nuban who's played every snap and is fantastic, the
corner out of or the defensive back out of Minnesota,

(34:58):
and then they obviously love upfront Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence
and Brian Burns, so like, this isn't a bad roster.
I think quarterback is a major, major red flag. And
it's nothing against Daniel Jones and just not necessarily his
job for the future. I think it's this year he
had a chance and they're two and eight. You look
at the scoreboard, are they everyone agrees it's time to
move on.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
In the offseason, Yeah, Peter, to your point, we went
to the Hofbra House and they had the Giants at
an event there. They all these cardboard cutouts of players
and you walk by their defensive names. You're like, so
really good team in parts, like in that front line
of the defense, Like they have names, they have stars,
they have talent, So hopefully they can make some other
decisions to make sure their season and seasons beyond to
go the right way. Listen, when you wear the headset

(35:39):
and you stand on the sideline, you got to answer
to some decisions that you make Dan Campbell was asked
after obtaining the services of Zadaria Smith from the Browns
at the trade deadline, why aren't you playing Zadaria Smith?
Well sign for Who's in your Lineup presented by Royal Caribbean,
and Dan Campbell had quite the answer for why.

Speaker 14 (35:57):
He's already played a lot of football in the twenty
twenty four season, and I just felt like it was right.
Let's get him acclimated to what we do. We do
things around here, our defensive terminology, and give them a breather,
you know, because it is a long season. I mean,
we got eleven games left here and we're going to
need him for every one of those. And every time
we get a little bit closer to the end, they

(36:18):
get more critical.

Speaker 7 (36:20):
Hell yeah, Dan, And everybody loves that SoundBite because there's
eight games left on the regular season schedule, but if
you do the math, the Divisional title game, super Bowl,
that would be eleven games.

Speaker 9 (36:29):
I love the SoundBite.

Speaker 7 (36:30):
I love the addition of Zadarius Smith. I sat here,
Peter was mad at me when I Aidan Hutchinson got
hurt and I said, like, I think they might have
just lost the Super Bowl, And I was being a
little dramatic and emotional. It's a great addition. Here's what
I feel about the lines right now. I feel like
they are eight and one. I feel like they're going
to finish fourteen and three. I think they're going to
be the one seed in the NFC. I picked them
from the get go to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 9 (36:51):
I don't waiver whatsoever.

Speaker 7 (36:52):
They played their crappiest game by far, yest last week
and they still won. Something special about this team, I've
never ever felt better about.

Speaker 9 (36:59):
My Super Bowl pick than I do.

Speaker 8 (37:00):
Out the line.

Speaker 4 (37:00):
Ye're a pragmatic standpoint, and pragmatic is not often where
we live on this show. But like, he didn't have
a bye week because he was on the other team
and then he got traded. He was supposed to be
on a bye week. So Dan Campbell, whether you think
this was strategically thinking my super Bowl and I was like, no, no,
a guy can't play the whole So they gave him
the week off so that he could actually have a
bye week. He actually wasn't there meeting with the media

(37:22):
for a couple of days until he got there.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Like, go enjoy your bye week.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
You still get a bye week even if you were
traded midway through, so they'll have him the stretch run
and maybe it's eleven games and maybe there's a Super
Bowl parade at the end.

Speaker 8 (37:34):
Man, for me, it's the mentality to put it out there,
to put it out into the universe like that, to
let everybody know this is how we're thinking. This is
not just something we're saying in the locker room behind
closed door. And then get his super you know, you know,
vague when you're sitting there with the media, He's like, no,
we got eleven games, I'm telling you, And so I
think we're Kyle, you and I were in this on
this where we've got the Detroit Lions going to the

(37:56):
Super Bowl. I can't wait to see how this all
plays out for them.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
You know, there's coaches or owners who, like in June
or July say like, I have a Super Bowl roster,
and you're like, that's cool, but it's the summertime. But
like then, when you say it in November, it hits
a little different. And specifically for Dan Campbell, who knows
just how close they were last season. He knows the
power of his words, He knows how much it takes
to get to that level. So I enjoyed the manifestation

(38:22):
capabilities of the eleven games. All of a sudden, you're
like that, does it like that?

Speaker 8 (38:26):
Math?

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Not mathod Oh, it's math. And if you want to
see the Lions in.

Speaker 7 (38:30):
New York, I remember there was also the report that
Aiden Hutchinson would be back for the Super Bowl if
they got there.

Speaker 9 (38:35):
I'll double down on my prediction. I'll make another one.
You know who the MVP is of that Super Bowl parade?

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Who?

Speaker 9 (38:40):
Penny Sewell gonna go absolutely.

Speaker 7 (38:43):
Nuts save the clip play in February.

Speaker 5 (38:45):
Wow, you.

Speaker 8 (38:48):
You do that and get it right. I won't
