Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Good morning, everybody, Welcome into the show. We have another
great hour.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Coming your way. And I would just like to send
out a quick apology to all of my neighbors.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Because my dog has been barking since I left the
house this morning. All right, everyone, let's continue on.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
We're gonna do a little three and out, shall we.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Let's do it all right, unless you guys have, like,
you know, some tips for me, But I tras it
doned her, so I don't know. Tras a done in
a prayer is what I'm living on. So the NFC North,
let's talk about that. Last year they led the league
with forty five combined wins. The Lions led the way
with a fifteen win season and a second straight division title.
Also gonna start with you, are the Lions still the
kings of the North?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Well, I mean they are until someone proves otherwise. But
I would just tell you this, I think the Packers
are right there nipping on their heels a couple different reasons. Right.
Number one, the Lions lost both coordinators. That is big.
If you don't think that's significant, talk to the Philadelphia
Eagles during the collapse at the end of the twenty
twenty three season, after they went to the Super Bowl.

(01:23):
Twenty twenty two, they lost Stike into the Colts getting
to the Cardinals. It was obvious if you watch the
Eagles play how much it hurt losing both those coordinators.
They got two new guys last year Kellen morvic Fangio
won the Super Bowl. Everybody realizes that this will be
a huge test of Dan Campbell's coaching staff, of him
as a head coach, to see if he can keep

(01:46):
that same level performance without Ben Johnson, without Aaron Glenn.
Plus for the Packers, they have been quietly playing a
bunch of guys on rookie contracts. Every time you look
at the Packers, it's like, this guy's in year one,
this guy's in year two, this guy's in year three. Well,
guess what it's put up for? Shut up time for
those guys. Okay, you know why because for a lot

(02:08):
of them, this is the like Christian Watson, this is
the last year of their rookie contracts. Okay two or three.
In the offensive lineman, multiple receivers, it is time. The
Packers have had incredible drafts the last five years under
Brian Gouda Kuntz. It's time for those guys to take
the next step. They gotta win the division and at

(02:28):
least get to the NFC Championship game. They have the
ability to do it. They've got a talented roster of
young guys that should just be hitting their prime this year.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Russ, I'm so glad you brought up the point about
how the Eagles lost their coordinators and the effect that
that had on them.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
I think that.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn leaving Detroit has a bigger impact.
Why because Nick Siriani is really the play caller in Philadelphia.
If you look at the way that Shane Steik and
Randa the offense, the way that Kellen Moore rand the
offense is the same place. They just call it a
little different. The flow is a little different, but it's
the same playbook. When you think about the Lions, Dan

(03:09):
Campbell doesn't he doesn't call the offense.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Ben Johnson called the offense.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
So that is to your point, Ross, Well, I think
that is such a big loss.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
For them, and you lose Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
But when I look at this NFC North Are the
Lions a clear favorite by title? Yes, but going into
the twenty twenty five season, no, you think about the
fact that they lost both coordinators.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
One of the coordinators went to the Bears. That whole division,
in my opinion, I.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Said earlier in the show, it's an unproven division. The
Vikings have a new quarterback at the Helm and JJ
McCarthy now.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
The Packers they had the most carryover.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
However, can they win in the playoffs? Can they win
when it really matters? And so are the Lions the
king of the Hill at King of NFC North by title? Yes,
but I think that whole division is up for grabs,
and I guess we're just gonna.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Have to see how it all plays out.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
Tough to stay on top, it's tough. I mean, you
just got the coordinators. The other teams get better. This
is why you just don't see a lot of crazy
runs year after year, and all these divisions have different
winners single year. Of course, I'm sitting here at what
is it is, April thirtieth, I'm gonna say the Lions,
we'll see in five months. They still have the best quarterback.
I think they still have the best offensive. Lion I
think they still have the best run game, but there's

(04:15):
things to chew on here. The Lions and the Packers,
I feel like are solid, and the Vikings and the
Bears have mystery about them. They're enigmatic, the Vikings because
the quarterback and the Bears just because the Bears. I
will say this about the Bears, though, the Lions have
a different relationship with the Bears than maybe your team
does or the other teams do, in the sense that
even during the Eberfluse era, the Lions would lose to

(04:36):
the Bears sometimes. Two years ago, Mattibraflu's beat the Dan
Campbell Lions. Last year, it was Matti Reflu's final game
as coach on Thanksgiving, the Bears had the Lions beats.
It was an all time joke job in which the
Bears ran out of time with the timeout.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
And lost the game to the Lions.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
So the Lions fans understand that the Bears are loaded
in the sense of talent and everything. Now, listen, you
can sit there and say Bears, this Bears that I'm
not it's the Lions. But I think, especially with Ben Johnson,
I think the Bears have the Lion's attention.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yeah, that's absolutely true.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
And you know what, these division games, weird things always happen.
You can never just look at the teams on paper
because they know each other so well.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Now, especially with the Bears.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Having Ben Johnson there and for the Lions their offensive
coordinator John Morton.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
He came over from Denver.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
But the only time he was an offensive coordinator was
in twenty seventeen with the Jets. Now that was a
completely different team and that was many many years ago,
but very unproven at this point as an OC. So
we'll see what happens with him. Let's go to someone
that is proven a team, the Philadelphia Eagles. For the
second time in seven years, the Eagles have earned the
honor of opening up the NFL season at home. Eight

(05:44):
possible opponents for that Thursday night game in early September. Kyle,
who do you want to see the Eagles play?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
Week one?

Speaker 6 (05:51):
All right, let me list the opponents for everybody at home.
So the possible opponents for the Eagles at home this year.
Obviously you have the NFC East, but then you have Bears, Lions, Broncos, Raiders, Rams,
So you could choose one of the NFC Easter You could.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Choose one of them.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
I'm actually gonna check like in poker, because ROSSI are
so plugged into the Eagles. I want to hear your
answer first. Who do you want to see them play?

Speaker 2 (06:13):
This is easy for me, really, Yeah, it's the Detroit Lions, right,
It's the NFC championship game that we all were expecting
and we were robbed of. I was shocked that the
Commanders beat the Lions last year in the visual Round.
If you tell me that you saw that coming, you
are a liar. Okay, the Commanders are just beating the Fox.

(06:37):
They got a playoff win. It was a nice story.
The Lions looked like maybe the best team in football.
Nobody thought the Commanders would win that game. We got
robbed of seeing the two best teams in the NFC.
I wanted to see the Eagles and the Lions go
toe to toe. Let's get the game that we didn't
get last year to start this season. That will get

(07:00):
everybody fired up. And they probably are still too, the
biggest favorites in the NFC this year. Let's just start
with a bang and put the true best team the
NFC out there right to get this thing going.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
I tend to think it's an NFC East team. Listen,
I'm intrigued by teams like the Broncos and Raiders, but
there's not the Scar tissue. There's not the familiarity, even
the Rams, who they just played in this amazing epic finish.
I don't want the Rams either. Just give it to
me again, Give me the Commanders. Let's go in here
and bring in the Eagles, welcoming in the hot new team,
the one who's allegedly a threat to their crown, the

(07:32):
Jade and Daniels second year. Let's start it there. I
want to see a rivalry game. Not terribly interested in
the Cowboys, the Giants. I feel like the Eagles have
kicked them around enough. Give me Eagles Commanders, and let's
see if maybe we have the start of something really
fun for the next three, four or five ten years,
where this rivalry is back like when I was a kid.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
I want this one, and kV just he just craped
up my team, my team, I choose. I want the Rams.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
I think we can argue that in the entire playoff, guys,
an entire.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Post sales a great game.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
The most entertaining game was the divisional game versus the
Rams and the Eagles in that game, there are so
many iconic players where there's Sakwon Barkley hitting his helmet
on his seventy eight yard touchdown run, or Matt Stafford
in that offense like posing just drive after drive after
drive and staying in the game. And they even had

(08:23):
safety in that game. So there's so many different components
of that game. When I'm watching as a football fan,
I want to see this again, look at the snow, like,
this is what you're talking about. These are the type
of games that they're going to show twenty years down
the line on NFL films. It's like, this is one
of the best games ever, one of the best playoff
games ever in the history of the NFL.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
So if they're going to play.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
And if the Eagles are going to play, anybody I
want to see the ms.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
I would love that because I have so many neighbors
here in Los Angeles that are constantly like, well, the
only reason the Eagles won was because of the snow,
And I'm like, okay, well so what they still won,
and so I would like to have this experiment where
we see them play without the snow.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Also, Jalen Carter in that game.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
He was honestly like this next question, if you had
one hundred Jalen carters, that gorilla would be toast.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
We're gonna save the.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Best question here for last our third down. So the
Lion's social media department came up with it's a viral
thing that it's everywhere at this point.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
But this was the question, let's go to the set.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
We would win gorilla one hundred humans. Oh, this is
a great one. This is a great one. I'm taking.
I'm taking the gorilla.

Speaker 7 (09:31):
If these humans don't care about their lives, then maybe
they could take down in the gorilla.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
But what was it talking about it a gorilla for sure?

Speaker 4 (09:38):
I mean the obvious answer is a hundred humans.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
I'm gonna go with the gorilla.

Speaker 8 (09:42):
I don't think humans bare hand humans are gonna they
just don't see it happening.

Speaker 6 (09:47):
One hundred humans is it like one hundred pennets or
one hundred jack basis.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
I think one hundred jack basis. And I said one
hundred humans gorilla all day or you don't know what
the type of humans I can get me MOODI Finey's school.

Speaker 8 (10:03):
I'm taking no motivated gorilla and like lazy like a
hundred lazy humans.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
No, they're motivated too. They're motivated A maybe maybe the humans.
It might be even find.

Speaker 6 (10:13):
At epe I angle one gorilla because the first couple
people that's running up is over.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
With for y'all one gorilla, no shop. I think it's
the gorilla simple fished. The gorilla definitely taking one hundred
hundred of us one hundred humans, depends are we all
attacking it once or one by one at once? If
you can, yeah, at once particular, put me up the
front line. Any humans.

Speaker 9 (10:39):
Yeah, look, come on nine a hundred humans.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
And this is what the type of.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Hinted Dan gave us a pre game speech before, I
might take the hundred humans to.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Be honest, and I line, I love that they start
getting into strategy of this.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Okay, So like is it all at once? Is it
one hundred pines?

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Like?

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Who are we talking about here? Is it one hundred kickers?
I don't know, Mantai.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
We're gonna go with you first one hundred humans or
a gorilla? Who a gorilla comes in anywhere from three
hundred fifty pounds to six hundred pounds.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Well, I agree with all the guys there. It is
that the key factor is what type of human. So
everybody knows that I love the MMA, and there's a
fighter on their name, Habib Nirmago Medov.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
He's from Dagastan.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
And this guy and the reason why I think that
there's one hundred Khabibs, we have a chance. The guy
was wrestling bears at the age of eight years old,
so I started playing content football at five. I thought
that was an accomplishment. And I heard Kabib at eight
years old was wrestling a bear. So if he can't
wrestle at a bear at eight years old, I think
that a hundred of grown Jabibs may be entertaining to

(11:39):
watch against a girl of ross.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
That is the next level.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Well, listen, if it's one hundred normal guys, they have
no shot because like the guys down there at Wall Street,
because as soon as they see the first couple of
guys gets smashing their heads off their body, they would
all run away. If it's one hundred NFL lineman. If
it's one hundred NFL lineman, and MMA guys like Manti

(12:03):
just talk to about give me the one hundred humans
all day long. Listen, it still only has four limbs Okay,
so we dive in there. Everybody grab a leg. They
grab a leg once you grab them three hundred and
fifty pounds. We got NFL linemen that there are three
hundred fifty pounds. Okay, So the first couple guys, it's
not gonna go well for them. Okay, but if we

(12:25):
all hundred go at once, I'll go after you. Guys.
Go no you go, no you go. I'll be right
behind you. Bro Okay, it'll be They're just coming at waves,
grabbing limbs. One hundred humans, no doubt in my mind,
as long as I get to pick.

Speaker 6 (12:39):
The humans, there does seat need to be some sort
of lottery system through which we determine the order, like
the first person who runs out versus the thirtieth, Like
if you draw one, you're like, dah.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
All right, let's go.

Speaker 6 (12:54):
I just think it's so funny that, of course we're
getting to the story like three days late, and now
it's reached. Like I'm reading things online where it's like
the zoologist at Berkeley is analyzing the gorillas. We're getting
so far into the rabbit hole with this thing, and
I actually think it's really simple. I land on the
same question, who are these hundred humans, And I will
tell you this, I will take the humans. If even

(13:15):
one of the hundred humans fighting the gorilla is New
York Giants running back camp Scout pray for the gorilla.
In fact, I will go further. We don't need the
hundred humans. We need just Scattaboo against the gorilla.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
In fact, I will go further.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
I will take one Scatoo boo versus one hundred gorillas,
and we will still come out of there with the
dub strategy. Be damned, give me my guy, and we're
gonna get a victory for the human race.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Gina, Gina, can we pull up the graphic? Do we
have a tally of the monitor you got? KB has
made a reference to kem okay cool because there.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Yeah, We're gonna have to have an intervention maybe later
this week. It's just it's not out of criticism here,
it's just out of care. Like I'm not trying to
judge you. I'm a little worried about how much space
Camp Scattaboo is taking up in your brain right now.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
He's right down the street.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
He's right he Ky's gonna be and he's coming to Jersey.
I'm ready just wait, hey, season starts.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Kyle poor Man ham scattered of the Ivy League.

Speaker 6 (14:13):
Yes, yeah, Hakland brand cam Scatto in the nineties. That
was why I like a lot of it. So trust
I'm just getting warmed about Colleen, don't God.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Yeah, I'm worried. I'm very concerned. All right, Well, Kyle
will take scataboo. What do you guys think out there?
You can tweet us which human you or player you
would take against one hundred gorillas or vice versa you
would take?

Speaker 6 (14:36):
Well?

Speaker 10 (14:37):
All right, well he really is. He was taking fourth
overall by the Patriots. But what does he like to
do with a spare time? Is it fy gorillas? What
are special talents? We're gonna talk about all this, Kyle.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
And speaking of rookies, there's some news and dunts. Just
please don't do this, and please do this.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Ross was once a rookie.

Speaker 6 (14:59):
I'm undrafted one making pocket change at the start.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
You're gonna help some people.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
He's gonna help ask and gen Z, here's what you
should do, Here's what you shouldn't do. He knows he's
gonna teach right after this.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
There's the mountain.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
My god, let's go.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Good mom.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
The New England Patriots like Will Campbell.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
Nestle to get my name called by franchise, like you
ain't gonna need.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Such a thing to me. The Cincinnati Bengals select Jamar Stewart.
Some people, I messed up? Really coming. The Bubba goes slick.
That's all Harrison, let's go.

Speaker 10 (15:40):
You have hugged every single prospect that has been called
before you tonight.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Now it is your moment.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Let's given't worry, Buffalo build up.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
The Eagles select Jahad Campbell, Philly, know what's up. We
gotta win another freaking super Bowl next year.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Man his own time for a round of names, that rookie.
All right, does everyone have their props hand?

Speaker 4 (16:05):
Get ready? Come on now? So right now, Will Campbell.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Shamar Stewart, Jahad Campbell, and Maxwell Harston.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
You're going to look at them.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
We have them on popsicle six right here, and I'm
going to read a fun fact and you guys are
all going to.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Guess which prospect we're talking about here that I'm talking about.
And I'm also going to guess because I don't have
the answer.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Joining the party.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
So first question, everybody, my youth baseball coach's wife carried
a copy of my birth certificate to prove my age
at tournaments. I'm gonna say this, but go ahead.

Speaker 5 (16:38):
So out of all of them, I think that's by stature,
it definitely isn't Maxwell Harston, Shamar.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Stewart, uh Will Campbell.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
I will say based on that, if I'm going to
ask anybody for their birth certificate, it's going to be
Jihad Campbell, So I'll say Jahad Campbell, Cork.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Okay, hot Campbell Ross.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
This is a tough one because obviously you start to
think about the biggest guys immediately, and then you think, okay,
who played youth baseball? I wanted to go with Will Campbell.
I think that might be a little too obvious. Chamar
Stewart is a physical freak of nature, and he just
strikes me as one of those guys that you know,

(17:23):
maybe matured before the other guy is matured. He still
looks like he's matured, more mature than the other guy
is in the draft. So really give me Shamar Stewart
from Texas A and m the newest Bengal.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
All right, I like to look at these differently. I'm
not interested in the football of the size. If you
are playing in an area where the youth baseball is
so serious you need the birth certificate.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
That means there's some.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Really intense fans and parents. That sounds like South Jersey
to me, and that is where Jihad Campbell is from.
This seems like a Jersey thing to me. I think
it's Jihat Campbell.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
No question, we are connecting all the dots. I'm with
you on that hot Campbell as well. What is the answer.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Campbell?

Speaker 6 (18:08):
Yeah, all right, he's an offensive line.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
That makes sense. All right, all right, none of the
city got it. All right, let's go question two.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Here we go. Despite growing up in.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Florida, I was a Chiefs fan until I was just
drafted to an AFC rival.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Oh this should be easy, man.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
That's pretty a little easy. Guys don't need a well
and none of us got the first one, right, maybe
we do?

Speaker 6 (18:29):
Yeah, all right, Matt, what do you think?

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Come on?

Speaker 5 (18:32):
I think the biggest rival is couldn't be the bills.
I mean it has to be the bills for the Chiefs.
So I would go with mister Harriston, Swaggy Hairston myself.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Ross. Yeah, so I didn't know like how much research
we are allowed to do or not allowed to do.
But I just saw that Harristoner got drafted by the
Bills is from Michigan, so I'm not going with him. Okay,
I did see that Shamar Stewart from Texa A and
m Surprisingly is from Miami and he played for the Bengals.

(19:04):
Are the only team that people think in the AFC
can beat the Chiefs Chamar Stewart. If I say Shamar
Stewart every time, I'll be right one of these times.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Shamar Stewart as well. And
I mean, I guess, I guess we consider the Bengals
arrival and they didn't have much of a season last year,
not a lot of wins, but I'll give it to them.
I'm gonna go Shamar Stewart.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
I'm gonna go Harston. But Ross, when are you doing this?
Are you doing the research right now? That's cheating?

Speaker 2 (19:30):
No?

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Right people?

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Are you not allowed to know anything about these guys?
I didn't know what the rules that's going to be
Shamark Stewart.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
My one thing that I do in this segment of
my research where they're from, and Ross just completely stole it.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
That's fine.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
Show the picture who's the guy?

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Do it? Hey? Give it up?

Speaker 3 (19:47):
There we go, Okay, next question, here we go. All right,
Number eight, I had to pick one celebrity to share
a stack of pancakes with.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
It would be Adam Sandler, who said that.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Well, are we going? Can it be the same guy
twice or everybody's one? I don't Yeah, the worse. They
might double up, might double up. I want to.

Speaker 5 (20:11):
I don't know why, but I'm gonna go Maxwell Harriston again.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Okay, I don't know why, but I just think I
used the other two in it. The two guys I
got wrong.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
I want to, got two left, So I'm gonna go
Maxwell Harrison by a process of elimination.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Ross all right, I'm not buying that they're gonna use
the same guy twice. Okay, if they did, I would
go Will Campbell, But I'm not buying. That's kind of
a weird segment. And then the one guy feels left
out like he's in the segment, but he's never actually one.
I'm not I'm not believing that, Gina and everybody's I'm
not believing that they would do that, and we showed it.

(20:45):
Maxwell Harriston, Bill's fans You're gonna love this guy. You
talk about a personality and funny and dapping up every
He was the thirtieth pick, and he was there for
every guy energy. This guy loves Adamsndler. This guy would
have been hanging out with Kyle, Kyle and I in
college watching Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Maxwell Harriston.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
All right, I'm gonna go. I always try to find
original approach. This one's pretty easy. Adam Sandler applies to
some certain demos more than others. I'm gonna go with
Will Campbell. By that, of course, I'm an offensive lineman,
so I'll go with Will Campbell.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
Okay. I would think about Hustle.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
I don't know if you guys have seen that, but
Adam Sandler isn't that.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
And it's about the Sixers.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
In Philadelphia, So on one hand, I was thinking johaed
But I'm gonna go with the other Campbell as well.
I'm gonna say, Will Hanniball, don't overthink this time.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Bring it up.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
Oh wow, nice shop. I had no idea that was coming.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
I love that he has that in him. I didn't
know that.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (21:50):
I'm gonna measure that during the preseason games though, and
Campbell is an uncut gem himself, like he's kind of broad.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Like that something that it's true, that's true. Okay, we
have one more question here.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Answer actually a couple more, all right, A couple No,
I don't know. It depends how much time we have.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
One of my favorite off season activities is alligator hunting.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Who said that alligator hunting?

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Well, it was crocodile alligators down there in Michigan.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
So you're because Ross just told me some information about
Shamar Stewart being from Florida. Oh, Florida got some gators
down I'm going to go off of his research and
I'm gonna say it's Shamar Stewart.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Okay, Well, speaking of Adam Sandler, Yeah, if you've ever
watched the movie The water Boy, you know about Louisiana. Huh,
you know, weren't they eating gators like the whole movie Louisia.
Isn't that a thing? So I think that they're throwing
us off the sect. I think it's a second Will Campbell,

(22:51):
because I don't think you do that anywhere else other
than in Louisiana. So water Boy, Adam Sadler, Well, camp.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
All right, I'm gonna I'm gonna say that, I'm gonna
say that our production staff is being really cheeky here,
and that the alligators they're hunting are actually Florida Gators,
like the football team. So I'm gonna say, Maxwell Harriston
from Kentucky, I'm just gonna I'm not gonna take a

(23:20):
shot and try to see the matrix.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
I really like your reasoning there, Kyle. That's creating.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
I'm going to keep going with Will Campbell. He is
my scataboo for today. So Will Campbell, Let's give it
another shot.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
Who is it?

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Okay, we got more?

Speaker 4 (23:44):
We got more. I love a game. Okay, let's go.
Come on right here we go.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Everybody empty the bank.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
I like to sing and was a member of my
high school's choir.

Speaker 6 (23:55):
All right, not Will Campbell, I Will Campbell, j Campbell.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
I don't think it's Jehad Campbell.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
Shamar Stewart seemed too during his interview to be a singer.
But the guy who had some soul to him had
a lot of love.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
It's got to be Maxwell Harriston.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
I'm gonna go with Maxwell Harriston as somebody who sang
in his high school choir.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
He got some souls.

Speaker 6 (24:20):
We already got a Colleen. Are you gonna zagor a
You're gonna fall in line?

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Make it a sweet.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
It's Harrison. It's gotta be with that personality.

Speaker 6 (24:26):
What if it's not Harriston?

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Oh my god?

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Love? Okay, we are continuing on. I love this. Okay,
we have another one.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
You don't want to end up that guys, All right,
let's go wherever we go.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
I'm just following directions. Let's go to question six.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
I was warned teams at the combine by saying, quote,
if you don't pick me, just know I'm bringing hell
to your city. So he warned teams at the combine
by saying that, well, we just.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Talked about Maxwell Harriston. He got a lot of love
in him. I don't think that coming from him.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
Will we was threatening teams, threatening teams, I don't all
as threatened Jamie when he was on a mic, his
name is Shamar Stewart said some team's done messed up.
So this seems like something that the Texas A and
m Rusher would say.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Ross, Yeah, I'm with you all the reasons Manti does.
Can I tell you something? But I'm a little tired
of this. Like we can go back through history of
guys that were like I'm gonna make them all. Hey,
they don't. It doesn't work out that well. Like go back.
I remember there's offensive lineman in Arizona, Evan Britton that
was like, I'm gonna make every team that didn't. He

(25:36):
wasn't that good of a player, right, likes me? Not
that good of a thing, Jamar Stewart. I like that,
all right.

Speaker 6 (25:42):
I'm thinking about this quote.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
This is like almost like a whiter quote.

Speaker 6 (25:46):
This is like, I'm gonna kick some ass and bring
healthier city. I have to go to the guy who
said he's ready to fight and die to protect this quarterback.
I'm going back to the well with Will Campbell. He
speaks in these really strong, morbid quotes and it seems
like his brand here.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Wow, Kyle, you just swayed my vote with that whole thing.
Although he was so emotional and he was crying, so
I feel like, I don't know, I know we said
he would die, but I think bringing hell to your city,
he has the wrath.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
And I'm going to say, Shamar Stewart, come on, who
is it?

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Bring it up? Yeah, yes, we did it.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
That's fun. More games, guys.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Good job everybody, you get participation awards.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Welcome back to Good Morning.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Football, And I'm going to ask Matt's titeyo here to
help me bring in our favorite newsperson in the building today.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
It is Oh now, Baddy.

Speaker 7 (26:48):
I'm glad Kyle Brandt said something because we have some
Andrew bang Ginkel news coming up, and I had this
really cool story I was going to share about Andrew
ban Ginkel until I remembered it was actually about Alex Anzeloni.
So shout out Kyle Brant from saving me that embarrassment
a little early. Speaking of those Vikings, Vikings quarterback JJ
McCarthy comes into the twenty twenty five season as the

(27:10):
undisputed starter in Minnesota after missing his entire rookie season
with that knee injury suffered last preseason. McCarthy out on
the practice field Tuesday and telling reporters he knows he's
ready to be the starter because of all the work
he's put in this offseason. He also spoke about the
pressure of being QB one in Minnesota.

Speaker 8 (27:29):
Personally, I think the more pressure the better for me,
because you know, that's something I thrive off of. And
you know, they always say the cliche pressure is a privilege,
but that's something that you sign up for when you
play in the National Football League, especially at the quarterback position.
And you know, I feel like pressure all it does
is just bring out what's inside of you. And you know,
I feel pretty good about what's inside of me. And

(27:51):
you know, more pressure, the better, honestly.

Speaker 7 (27:54):
And other Vikings news here, it is Pro Bowl linebacker
Andrew ban Ginkel signing a one year extension worth twenty
three million dollars bang Eagle coming off best eleven and
a half sacks in twenty twenty four to go along
with seventy nine tackles and two interceptions. An NFL Network
insider Tom Tellsero reporting the Chiefs are picking up the

(28:15):
fifth year option on cornerback Trent McDuffie. He started every
game he's played in over the past two seasons in
Kansas City. Well, the Chiefs are also picking up the
fifth year option on defensive end George Carloff. Is how
big of those two been over the last couple of
seasons for Kansas City's defense. And we have a whole
new crop of rookies that are going to have to
adjust to life in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Ross will deliver them.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
A list of dudes and dons as they get ready
for their first mini campas.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Good mono molls.

Speaker 6 (28:55):
So you never get tired of watching guy exit drafted.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
It's always fun.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
But also this week there are countless players who were
not drafted who would be brought in by teams as
on drafted free agents, and with that face very very
difficult odds to make the team. However, it is far
from impossible. It can be done, and we have living
proof of that here in our Good Morning Football studio.
For someone who was not drafted and still wants to
play in the league, I'm sitting with one of my

(29:20):
former college teammates, Ross Tucker, who was undrafted out of Princeton,
who gets brought in by Washington and makes the team
under Marty Schottenheimer and went out to play seven years
in the league as an undrafted guy. You can do it,
you will do it. And with that, then Ross, you have.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Some advice for these guys. Yeah, we're gonna call our
dues and don't for rookies. Can remember there's some rookie
mini camps this week and then there will be even
more rookie mini camps the following week, I got two
dues and two dolls. We're gonna keep it simple. Let's
go do number one. Perfect your position coaches technique. I
had nine different offensive line coach the NFL. Very hard

(29:59):
to do in seven years, by the way, but I
did well. That's the whole other story. This is their
life work. Okay, this is all this guy does. Let's
say offensive line. That's all he's done. His whole life
is try to be an offensive line coach. Out of
all the techniques out there, this is the technique that
he thinks is best out of all the rookies. You

(30:21):
be the one that perfects his technique. I don't care
if you're doing it on the side during special teams.
I don't care when you're back at the hotel at night.
If you work on it. You know why you do
that because the next day or the next practice, when
you do the coach's technique perfectly, he can look at
you and say, see, look at Johnson. That's how you

(30:42):
do it. Johnson uses the technique. You know why because
when you do the technique that he wants you to
do and it works, it makes him feel like a
good coach. Okay, make him feel like a good coach.
Perfect his technique. That's number one. Hold on, Mansi, what
do you think of that way? I want to hear
Massi's thoughts on that. I do it.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
I do agree Ross with that. Protect your coach's technique.
I will say, though, don't lose your technique, like master
your technique. I get what Ross is trying to say.
To get onto the field and getting good graces with
your coach, you want to listen to what he's giving
you and apply that on the field. But listen, they
drafted you for a reason, right, They want to see Yeah,

(31:20):
they want to see what you're able to do. So
take that coaching and use it his technique to better
your technique.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
That's what I'll say.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
Use the way he's coaching your technique to better your technique,
and I.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Think it sets you up for calling. I think it
sets for good stuff.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
Yeah, I mean that's true.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Also, just you know, make sure that you are in
the good graces of the coach.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
And be the teacher's pet, which I you know, that
makes sense.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
I like it.

Speaker 9 (31:44):
Politically, I would assume that you can have guys who
had great success in college and great relationship with their
coach in college, who are hung up on that technique
and don't want to let it go and don't want
to do the new ones because.

Speaker 6 (31:56):
I was an All American or I made plays.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
With this technique in college.

Speaker 6 (32:00):
It's tough to break up with that, isn't it It is.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
It's very hard to bring up with that. I'll think
that though Manti was a high second round pick. Yeah,
when we drive me a river, Manti. Okay, Like, Manti
can do whatever he wants because he's a high second
round pick, which is essentially a first round to find.
Manti can say Manta can do it every once. No,
you can't do that if you're undrafted or a late
round pick. And it's hard, by the way, it's hard

(32:24):
because each time you go to a new team you
have to learn a new technique that's not great and
didn't allow me. I became a jack of all trades,
master of none. But listen, Manti Fanti is in a
different conversation. Manti was rich today. He was drafted. I
hate everything about it. Okay, Manti doesn't count. Let me
go to number two.

Speaker 6 (32:44):
I go number two and then finish the list and
then we'll yes real quick, sorry, real quick to Russ's point,
to give him some context into Russ's.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
Points, know, a lot of these coaches the techniques that
they know they saw their former players. To Mike Nolan,
he coached Ray Lewis and Patrick Willis and he would
tell me all the time, Hey.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Ray did this, well, Patrick did this. Well.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
This is why I do this, trill because I saw
Ray do this. So understand that their coaches, like their
coaches are telling you as far as techniques, most often
times they learned from former players that they coach. And
so maybe you could be that player that could teach
up something different.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Yet not if you're an undrafted rookie. But what are
you talking about? You live in like a different reality.
Oh my gosh, this undrafted rookie that I got a
zero point zero signims from prison. Let me just change
everything I've done with Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson for this.
I mean, can we get Manti off the show? My segment. Okay,

(33:38):
I'm on for two days. This is my segment, all right.
Number two Okay, number two, dude, push the envelope of
the practice tempo. Okay, the coaches are gonna say, hey, guys,
we gotta be smart. We don't want anybody falling on
the ground. Guess what, deep down in places they don't

(33:59):
want to admit, they all have a little bit of
a sicko in there, right, Yeah, they want you to
be flying around going full speed. Let me I promise
you this. If the coaches have to tell you to
calm down, that is a great thing. They'd way way
rather pull back than say giddy up. If they had

(34:19):
to tell you to calm down. At least they know
where you are. At least they know your name. At
that point, you push the envelope of the tempo and
don't care what the other guys say.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
Okay, get to the don'ts now all right, what do
we got for?

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Don'ts okay, don't number one all right? Don't ask stupid
questions or really any question. Don't for that matter. Okay,
you are a rookie. You're supposed to be seen and
not heard. But there's always that one guy. Okay, he
thinks he can be like the Colleen teacher's pet. Yes,

(34:57):
he think he can impress, impress the coach by his question.
He'll be like, oh so so, coach, I'll just say
I can hear if to see the in purpose into
a cloud coverage, how's that chance? Just shut up, Shut up.
He's not impressed. You don't know anything. You're a rookie.
Don't try to impress the coach with the intelligent questions.

(35:21):
You're stupid and it was a stupid question. You shouldn't
have asked it, all right. Number two, Okay, don't try
to make friends. Don't try to make friends. I always
see these rookies come in, and especially the lower round guys,
and they undraft the guys they like they're hanging out
with the first round pick, and they're like, cool, man,
we're in the NFL. No, you're not. You're not in

(35:42):
the NFL. You're not in the NFL till you're on
the team for the first game in September. You're not
on the team. You have plenty of friends from high school,
plenty of friends from college. You don't need friends. Those
other guys that you're trying to be buddy by. They're
your competition. They're not your friends. They're not your buddies.
They're not even your teammates. Guess what, you're not on

(36:03):
the team yet. Your teammates. Those are your enemies. I'm
not saying you have to be mean to them, but
don't try to make friends. You already have friends. You
need a job, right I know the tone get in here.

Speaker 5 (36:16):
I know the tone at which Ross is sitting right now.
So I'm gonna take one of his don'ts and make
it a do. He said don't ask questions, but I'm
gonna stay on the same tone that Ross is at
the only question, rookie that we as veterans want you
to ask is what kind of snacks do you want?

Speaker 2 (36:30):
What kind of water do you like? Do you do
you like? Monster drinks? Do you like? Do you do you?
What do you want? What can I get you?

Speaker 5 (36:37):
That's really the only question as a rookie you should
be asking in this offseason?

Speaker 2 (36:42):
What can I fill this fridge up?

Speaker 5 (36:43):
In this meeting up with Oreo's chips, some flower seeds,
whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Once again, No, you're reason.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
A guy that you're gonna go over there and demonstrate
what KB demonstrates when he's carrying all of those grocery
bags on his hand. You're gonna do that, rookies, when
you carry this stuff into the meat room, You're gonna
You're gonna implement some of some of kb's techniques of
Karen grocerbags.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Colleen, I mean, listen, I'm so basically, be a psychopath
in practice, don't talk, don't make any friends. Actually, just
be a little bit of a sociopath in general. Mirror
only your coach, and then you'll make the team rookies.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Congratulations. That sounds like a perfect plan, all right.

Speaker 6 (37:26):
My question is on the accelerate the pace in practice
and get noticed and all that. There's got to be
a fine line because if you're finishing every rep and
maybe starting fights and stuff, there's the position coach, but
then there's also the head coach and the coordinator who
is like, who is this guy who is fighting? Aren't
there certain types who are like, I don't want that
nonsense from this undrafted free agent. Just do the reps

(37:48):
and then get the hell off my team.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Fair point. So number one, you don't ever start a fight.
You finish the play. Okay. Number two, if they get
to that point where they are frustrated by you and
they tell you to calm down, dial it back a
little bit, Okay, Okay, you know what I mean. I mean, like,
but my point is get to the point where they
tell you to calm down. Get to the point where
they tell you to calm down, and then calm down

(38:11):
a little bit, and then guess what, then they'll know
you're coachable. Okay, they know your name. Number one, number two. Hey,
we told him to dial up back a little bit.
He did, but we know he had that in him.
If we tell him to notch it up or take
it up another not that's really good. Gross, tell me not.
The only thing you shouldn't do, like go full speed.
The only thing that you shouldn't do, and this you
will always be safe this way is don't dive on

(38:32):
a football on a fumble. That's it.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
Other than that, if you dive on a fumble, you're
going to be one of those guys that the coach
is gonna look at you.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Just get him out of here. But go full speed,
go full tilt.

Speaker 5 (38:42):
Don't compete for the football, punch the football out, do
all of those great things.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
To Ross's point, just don't jump on the on a fumble.
You'll be just fine.

Speaker 4 (38:50):
I'm going to guess too.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
Don't complain because nobody cares, and don't be the guy
that sucks the life out.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
Of the room.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
Make sure that you are positive energy.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Guy. You want to add to the table.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
You don't want to take anything off the table. You
also don't want to be the guy that's not adding
or just or subtracting like because then that's no personality whatsoever.

Speaker 6 (39:09):
These were good and we should do this with TV.
Welcome to TV Dues and don'ts and Sports TV. I
can do this tomorrow. I got some donce.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Okay, I'm riding my bike back from Avalon. Why do
I have to give you thirty five cents for a
plastic bag? Okay? I just want. I can't. I'm not
as good as Kyle. I can't balance six breakfast sandwiches.
And by the way, it's so underrated sausage, egg and cheese,
a maze of vest I can't balance six of them

(39:36):
while I'm riding my bike back to my house. Okay,
can I please just I'll bring the bag back later.

Speaker 6 (39:45):
Well, somebody tell this guy Ross at the Jersey Shore
wet pork rollleg and cheese.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Your response, pork roll is actually delicious, And my brother
in law and sister in law, that's all they get
is pork roll, egg and cheese. It's a little too
salty towards the sauce. We'll say this guy, Ross soon.
I mean, Johnny Coleen, what do you think?

Speaker 3 (40:07):
Come on, you can take the sodium. I don't know
you were such a delicate flower. Pork roll is amazing.
What about scrapple? Scrapples even better than pork roll. You
gotta get your yeah, scrapple scrap tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
We gotta talk about scrapple on the.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
It's like spam but better. Its scrapple is God's meat.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Yeah, that's insane.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
Ross. You're gonna come back tomorrow, can you? Will you please?

Speaker 2 (40:38):
I am back tomorrow and I will tell the story
of how the only reason why I made the NFL
was a keggy yingling and going to the diner at
two am every day during Christmas break and getting hammi
cheese omelet, full stack of pancakes, chocolate shake, and a
side of scrapple scrap. Both of you don't even

Speaker 3 (40:58):
Know what scrapped starving Google scrap, pinkish dropolate,
