like it's brown upon but it's still kind of nice
and we'll find out. Good Morning Football. It starts right now.

(01:02):
Happy Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Welcome to Good Morning Football presented by Old Trapper. That's
right GMFB on Thanksgiving Eve, Jamie, Manti, Mike g and
Kyle Uh Kyle, be honest. Do we all look a
little bit more elevated today because we are doing the
show GMFB from home over the next couple of days,
and like, while we might be wearing something like really
fancy up top, like we're all gonna be in sweatpants

(01:38):
the next couple of days, like it's here, it's here,
We're going to be in the boxes from home.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yes, so I listened, Mike and I an New York.
We feel great. We started today, Jamie, I understand what
you're asking me. Like when you said be honest, I
got on, like I got on alert and then I
don't know what you're asking me.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
For the next two days.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
You're gonna be doing the show from home. You're gonna
you might be wearing a.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Button down, but are you not going to be wearing
sweatpants with the button down?

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Not supposed to do that today? Is that what she's saying?
That's my seat.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I'm always okay, man, we're pulling back the curtain here.
You look great with the pie and everything, and God
blessed you guys. You had your gift cards that you
blew on some fancy store. But listen, you sit there
in your billion dollar studio and with your million dollar wardrobe,
and that's your leg exactly right.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
We have to look good from top to bottom. Okay,
here's our billion dollar studio.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
We got to wear worth every penny. Welcome. You got
the what do you call it? The shoes? The ugs,
go rock them.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
If the studio is big enough, I think we need
a bigger studio for our intimate morning show. We can
probably just make sofi the studio next time. Right, let's
make it bigger and flashier.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Let's do it. Let's bring in rap sheet. Gosh, I
was just trying to make a.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Joke about the show the next couple of days.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I don't want to the insiders.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
They're built different. No, he's in a full blown suit.
I promised, don't make that face, rap sheet. Let's talk
about the book, right, they're coming off. What's going on
with Baker Mayfield?

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Good things are going on with Baker Mayfield. When we
last saw him, he was on the sideline in a
sling ring.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Sweatpants. By the way, now that we're on the topic.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
Wondered about the how long he would be out with
a left shoulder injury. Had an MRI after the game.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
It was actually really good news.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
My understanding was it was a low grade sprain for
Baker Mayfield and ac joint sprain in his left shoulder.
And yes, he looks like he's about to die on
the field right there, but he does in fact have
a chance to play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
That is excellent news.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
We saw Teddy Bridgewater, who we all loved, coming and
play did not go well. They need Baker Mayfield if
the Bucks are going to get back on track, and he's.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Got a shot.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
The Detroit Lions, of course, they're in the spolot as
they always are on Thanksgiving, not going to have one
of their best defensive players. Though Kirby Joseph living in
practice coming back soon, but not this Thursday.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
And to listen to Dan Campbell, what.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
They want to do is strength in the area around
his knee. Do all this rehabbit so he's not in
the lineup and then out of the lineup, and then
back and forth. Try to get him right, finally right,
so he is there on the field for the stretch run.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Seems to be going well, but too early right now.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
And then for the green Bay Packers, Josh Jacobs to miss.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Last week.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
We saw plenty of Emmanuel Wilson for the Packers, much
to Mike hervos chagrin because he didn't start him in fantasy.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Josh Jacobs, according to me.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
And Tom Pellisero, is supposed to be back this week
for the Green Bay Packers, dealing with a thigh contusion,
dealing with the bone bruise, and his knee is set
to return.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Excellent news for green Bay.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I don't know much, and I've watched a lot of football.
I can't imagine there's not worse feelings than a helmet
to the thigh. The thi contusion always sounds like the
worst injury. Right leg bruise, terrible, especially if you're a
great runner like Josh Jacobs. Raps sheet, thanks so much.
Let's talk Lions Packers, shall we. It's a pivotal NFC
nor a showdown happening on Thursday. This will be the
twenty third time these two teams meet on Thanksgiving alone,

(04:58):
which is the most frequent matchup in NFL history. On
Turkey Day yesterday, Lion's head coach Dan Campbell talked about
the story rivalry between these two teams.

Speaker 7 (05:07):
I always say it man watching Detroit play and watching
Dallas play, but Detroit Green Bay Thanksgiving. I just think
it's you know, everybody knows what that is, and everybody
for the most part, grew up with that. And our
guys know that too, you know, And so I think
that's what makes it special to know that It's one

(05:29):
thing for everybody to see primetime games, but most of
the time all the families together, most of the families together,
and they're watching these games, these two or three games
that go on now, and so it feels special in
that regard.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Those salty shirts are becoming more and more intense. It's fantastic.
Brams look good. They hold the number one overall seed
right now in the NFC, while the Lions lurk on
the right side of your screen because the Packers have
a wildcard spot in the north End. Once again, the
Bears are alone at the top of that division, which
means this Packers Lions game weighs heavily on this division alone.

(06:01):
Stakes are high guys, so let's lock in Green Bay
do Lions in week one. But many say week one
is a liar on this show. So what do we
look forward to in this matchup? Man, Tile, you get
to go first.

Speaker 8 (06:11):
Well, I'm looking at this offense for the Detroit Lions.
I mean, I gotta say, for the first time, I'm
nervous when it comes to the Detroit Lions and that offense.
I think, you know, you referenced the first game of
the year against the Packers. They had forty six yards
rushing the Detroit Lions offense had and they gave up
four sacks, and you kind of like dust that to
the side. It's like, Okay, that's that's an anomaly. We'll

(06:32):
push that to the side. They come back and they
start playing well. But then two weeks ago they played
an Eagles team where they don't even get a first
down and Jared Goff just looks like he's uncomfortable, he's
getting hit, he's inaccurate. The only thing that kind of
worked was Jamior Gibbs coming out of the backfield. Everything
else from Amna Saint Brown and anybody else else running
a route, it just seemed off. But still you're like, Okay,

(06:55):
they played against it, probably the top three defense, top
two defense in the NFL. What's the next week going
to look like? And they playing the Giants And that's
one of those things. Okay, this is a game if
I'm Dan Campbell in that offense, this is the game
that we get back on track and we start playing
with that confidence. And then they go into overtime and
I'm just like, okay, I just I'm confused and I'm

(07:17):
a little worried as to what this offense because honestly,
the defense, to me is fine. It's the offense and
that pass game that concerns me a little bit. So
that's the thing that I'm going to be looking at
Mike g is can this offense Jamier Gibbs. We know
that Jamier is going to show up, but can that
passing game kind of take take on the form that
we've we've been accustomed to seeing in the past few

(07:38):
months and in the years previous.

Speaker 9 (07:40):
I remember when the schedule came out back in May
and I saw this game. I still feel this way
about it. It reminded me of a couple of years ago.
Remember the game on Thanksgiving where the Packers.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Came out hot.

Speaker 9 (07:48):
It was like twenty three to six earlier, midway through
the second quarter, and the Lions were just trying to
claw back and call back and call back, and they
just they ran out of time. They just couldn't get it.
A twenty nine to twenty two final. I believe the
Packers won. The reason I mentioned that game is both
of these teams this year, both of them, but the
Lions particularly of late, especially that Giants game. You just
talked about man Ti slow out of the gate, right, Like,

(08:10):
who's gonna really get off to a great start and
who's going to be the team. It's a short week,
which is always kind of you never know how the
games are gonna start. You never know who's gonna be
feeling good after just playing a couple of days ago,
and the Lions are back at home, didn't have to
travel anywhere.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Can they come out hot?

Speaker 9 (08:25):
Can they be the team that gets off to a
hot start, get that offense going kind of the way
they did a couple of weeks ago against Washington when
Dan Campbell took over play calling.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
That's the Lions team.

Speaker 9 (08:34):
I want to see the team that dictates things right
off the bat. Here on Thanksgiving and by the way,
it's gonna happen a little bit later.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
It used to be a twelve thirty start.

Speaker 9 (08:42):
It's a one o'clock kickoff now for this game, which
our Tom Pellisero apparently is up in arms about. Just
doesn't love the fact that it's a half hour later.
For so long talking about all week, I have no
idea Tom, tune in one o'clock eastern, twelve Central. Maybe
it messes like up the It definitely messes up the
flot like your Thanksgiving was built around the twelve thirty
kickoff for ye.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Now it's a one o'clock kickof All right, what's half
an hour? Yeah, it's a big half hour, is it?
Especially in such.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Who knows, Tom, I'm sure you have a very elucid
reason for feeling that way. Neither one of these teams
right now are feeling special. They both have pretty good records,
they both matter, they both have good players. The expectation
for these two teams is can you get to the
super Bowl this year? They're in that club. Anything short
of the super Bowl run is pretty disappointing. They don't
feel special. And on the Lions part, Jamier Gibbs has

(09:25):
become He's a staple. You know he's going to show up.
He's one of the best players in the league. The
guy who I think is the huge, huge lightning bolt
for them is Jamison Williams.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Can we get him more involved?

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Last week they needed overtime to beat the Jamis Winston Giants,
and Jameis Williams did not touch the football. He did
not touch it. No catches, no handoffs, none of this stuff.
It's not the first time. He had another game earlier
this year against the Buccaneers where he did not touch
the ball. He had another game this year against the Bengals,
which is a shootout.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
We touched the ball one time. He's way too talented.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
He is the guy who really makes the Lions feel different.
They got a great running back. There's several teams who do.
It was a total lightning bolt. You don't see a
lot that have two of those guys.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
On the same offense.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
They have Jamier and Jamison, and it's the Jamison thing
comes and goes. I want to see him touch the ball.
Can we not get like? I hate to arder this name.
I feel like Ben Johnson would get him the ball.
I feel like if you'd find a way. We'll do
a double reverse, we'll do a quick pass, we'll do
any kind of thing at all. We have to get
him the ball.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Even if it doesn't work, let's just make the.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Defense tackle him. Because he's way too fast and talented,
and it's one of their most potent weapons. I think
it's way underutilized. If you were looking for a difference
between the Ben Johnson Lions offense and this one, maybe
it's number one right there. And I just feel I'm
part of the group right now.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
As the group of people on Thursday who will be enjoying.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Jamison at home, I'd like to enjoy some Jamison on
the television screen as well. It makes this offense completely different.
And if you're waiting to bust them out, now's the time.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Well of an honest assessment not only of the menu,
but also of what you look forward to in the game. Kyle,
quick question the pack The Lions, excuse me, The Packers
tomorrow are seven to three and one going into the day.
The Cowboys are five to five and one. That one
looms large on Thanksgiving more than any other. That tie
game between the two teams. Kyle, let me ask you this,
the one for some people makes them uncomfortable. It's like

(11:14):
a strange thing to look at which team for you
Cowboys are Packers, And this moment is a little bit
more confusing. You don't know what you're looking at. You're
trying to figure it out, much like people assess the
tie in the record. Is it the Packers or the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Well, first of all, as you know, I love the tie,
and when the tie happened, I told us all, it's
so fun. We're gonna be so glad we have this
tie because it makes it so messy and so hard
to figure out, and that's fun.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
I like the mystery of it. Look at that. I
wish there could be a way there's a fourth.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Number in your record to make it even more confusing.
But both the team for time losses like hockey overtime losses,
So in other words, they'd be the Cowboys would be five.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Five h and one. I got tank right, because you
have to skip that column overtime. That's a great idea.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
The Packers are way more confusing the Cowboys, for they're
not a perfect team, but I know who they are now.
They have an amazing offense and the defense is coming
to get they're under ebra flues. The Packers, like they
scored seven against Philadelphia, they lost to the Panthers and
scored thirteen.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
I'm not sure what that offense is yet.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
So the Cowboys I'm in and the five to five
and one is absolutely gorgeous.

Speaker 9 (12:16):
I'm gonna go left here and probably not answer your question.
It's not throw down Thursday, So I can go with
a third option. Can we bring up control room the
numbers on the Lions offense that you just threw up there,
because I got to be honest a little.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Bit, I didn't expect they were great.

Speaker 9 (12:28):
Like you look at them, and you look at what
they've done in previous years, it's like, oh cool, right
in line. If you took a thirty thousand foot view,
you'd say, oh, remember when the Lions had a great
offense from twenty twenty three or twenty through twenty five.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Like does it feel like that? It doesn't feel like
we're gonna have the one on the far right.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Like the total yards in the rushing yard Gibs has
been amazing, the passing yards, like, first of all, Laporte
has gone. Now we don't know how long I just
talked about Jameson. I feel like that's a little front loaded,
like how much of that as the last month or so?
They are good numbers, Mike, but like, how are they
going to end the season?

Speaker 4 (12:59):
That's the tea like.

Speaker 9 (13:00):
But Jamie said to me, you know which do you?

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Packers are? Cowboys? You know? I still have that feel
of the Lions. Who are the twenty twenty five Lions?

Speaker 9 (13:07):
Because those numbers I should look at them and go, yeah,
that's alliance.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
And I look at them. I was like, what, you know.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
What's fun too is that like a lot of people,
it's popular opinion, you don't really know what the Bears are,
Like how good are they?

Speaker 4 (13:17):
What are they? All three of these teams unfortunate. I
think we know what the vikings are.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
I'm sorry to bring it up, but I think all
three of the teams in the North have a lot
of questions answer and they're all different questions.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
But at least we'll get some answers tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Nothing more VMAF than what just happened.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I asked about the Packers and the Cowboys, and Mike
g said, let me talk about the Lions. We're headed
straight for Thursday football. It's a John Madden Thanksgiving celebration.
Three games Packers, Lions, Chiefs, Cowboys, Bengals, Ravens. She gets
that team in the middle there, the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
It's a tripleheader that we are keeping an eye on.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Speaking of Dallas came back from a stunning twenty one
point deficit on Sunday to be Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Which ties for the largest comeback we had.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Enfranchise his creed. You know what that means. It'd be
great to ask Cowboys owner, president and general manager Terry.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Jones about that game, shall we? Okay? Fine, dude, the
Jones family, Kyle waiting in the wings.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
We love to see it, love it, love a red kettle,
love all of that stuff.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
It is really.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Thanksgiving if they're joining us in Good Morning Football, and
it's really Wednesday if we're handing out hardware to people
like that. Mike Garret follow the best in broadcasting, the funniest,
the most off the rails, the viral moment, and just
the straight up best.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Call of the week. It's into the booth.

Speaker 10 (14:23):
Don't go anywhere, Good Morning Football.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
We are so happy to be joined now by Cowboys
Hall of.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Fame owner Jerry Jones, co owner and chief.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Brand Officer Charlotte Jones and the Salvation Army's National Commander,
Commissioner Merle heat Wall.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Happy Thanksgiving, Good morning to you. Welcome into GMF.

Speaker 11 (14:56):
Hi, Yes, I can guys. We're so excited to be
with you all. I mean, I can't believe that Thanksgiving
Day we're gonna launch this Salvation Armies National Red Kettle
Campaign with Post Malone right here.

Speaker 9 (15:09):
Yeah, Charlotte, the Cowboys and Salvation Army have been partners
for almost three decades. For the uninitiated, can you let
them know what the Red Kettle campaign is all about,
why this cause is so important to your family.

Speaker 11 (15:21):
Well, i'll tell you what. The Salvation Army has been
launching the Red Kettle Campaign. We've had one hundred and
thirty five year old campaign and we've been launching it
with them on a national stage for twenty nine years now,
and we've raised over four billion dollars for the Salvation Army.
And all of that money goes right into the communities

(15:43):
that need it in the over seventy five hundred locations
of the Salvation Army. Almost every zip code across the country,
that's where the Salvation Army is. So this money goes
right there to help the people in need, and that
means over one hundred and eighty three million meals have
been served. So hopefully when people watch this game.

Speaker 12 (16:03):
Tomorrow, not only will they get a lot of really
great football, but they'll get a wonderful halftime show with
Post Malone, Dallas native super fan, and he will inspire
people to give big and to lead with.

Speaker 11 (16:17):
Their heart and to inspire hope. And hopefully all the
people watching will find a way to be a part
of the Salvation Army. Maybe they give a little, maybe
they volunteer, maybe they take an angel off the Salvation
Army Christmas Tree and they provide Christmas for those who
wouldn't have it. We're super excited for this partnership and
we're honored to be here with you guys today, But
we can't wait to go out to almost probably fifty

(16:40):
million people tomorrow in the middle of that game and
talk about the Salvation Army.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
It's so well said. I can feel the enthusiasm. Charlotte,
we share it with you.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
I think what's so special is that the Cowboys are
all about these iconic images, the star and the helmet
and the stadium, and I really feel like the red
Kettle is now.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
One of those images.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Merle, let me ask you, as someone who's the face
of this really along with the Jones family, why is
this campaign so important right now? And again, please tell
everyone at home how we and they can help out.

Speaker 11 (17:08):
Yeah, well I will say this, I think Jerry, you'll
tell us why the campaign is so important for our
family and why this has been such an incredible tradition
for us.

Speaker 13 (17:17):
You know, when you look at the Salvation Army the
way you'd look at another team, Well, it's our team.
It's our team all over this country. When you put
a dollar in that red kettle, it is the most
efficient way to get it to be some sandals on
somebody's foot or get them fed. The overhead is minimal,

(17:38):
so it goes to where you wanted to go. If
we had that kind of efficiency with the Dallas Cowboys,
we'd win it every year. So that's why we're inspired
by them. And we're sitting here in the end zone
and nothing makes me feel better than to see one
of these players score a touchdown and then go jump
in that red kettle. Just like encouraging people all over
this country to put money in the Red kettle. It's

(18:00):
been an honor to be on the team with Salvation.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Army ARMYUSA dot org to donate. The Jones family thank
you so much. We appreciate you as always. We are
so sorry for that communication difficulty, but somehow the Jones
family always so equipped in the spirit of giving it Thanksgiving,
they still got their wonderful message across Post Malone involved.
As they said the Dallas native doing the halftime show

(18:23):
for the Thanksgiving game between the Cowboys and the Chiefs,
Salvation Army will be right.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Back on GMFFE.

Speaker 8 (18:30):
The NFL Way to Play Awards are fueled by Gatorade.
They were created to recognize and reward players who use
proper playing technique at all levels of football, including high
school and this week an anger run steals a spotlight
with Here with more Here's former Jets and Dolphins quarterback
and current high school football head coach and Lexington, Kentucky
Chad Pennington.

Speaker 14 (18:50):
This week's winner is running back Xavier Kroll from Jackson
High School in Jackson, Alabama. The nice fundamental stands shoulders
overkneath shinniver Toe's ready to make the great football play
and then.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
What's this approach? And finished hits.

Speaker 14 (19:03):
The hole with great vision, great speed, trying to press
the line of screamage makes this first defender miss.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
That's one tackle.

Speaker 14 (19:10):
There's two tackles, three tackles, four tackles.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
And then five and six.

Speaker 14 (19:15):
What I really love about Zager is his finished playing
behind his paths, having a low center of gravity which
allows him to run with power and speed. What a
way to play. Congratulations with Xavier and on our.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
That terrific way to play. Example.

Speaker 8 (19:31):
The NFL Foundation will award a three thousand dollars equipment
grant through USA Football to the Jackson Aggies. To learn
more about the NFL way to play, check out Playfootball
dot NFL dot com and we'll highlight another great way
to play example again next.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Week four thirty pm Eastern on CBS on Thanksgiving Day.
It's a monster of a game between the Cowboys and
the Chiefs. It's all happening in Dallas. Pretty cool for
Patrick Mahomes since he grew up in Tyler, Texas, about
an hour and a half outside of Dallas. A lot
of storylines mansid to pick from. But when you look
at what Mahomes and the Chiefs off can be yes,

(20:05):
it truly fascinates you that they're going up against Cowboys.

Speaker 8 (20:09):
De yea, They're going to against the Cowboys defense, And
I get it right. There was a lot of talk
about the offense last week and the job that Dak
Prescott and they then did on the offense side of
the ball in the second half, and rightfully so. But
let's not forget that the Dallas Cowboys offense also did
shut out the Eagles offense in the second half.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
The Eagles didn't score of points.

Speaker 8 (20:26):
So going against somebody like Patrick Mahomes and that offense,
can Matt Eberflus and this defense continue to build off
of a strong second half performance that like they did
last week if they are able to do so, I
think combined that with the explosive part of that offense
and Dak Prescott, the Cowboys are looking good.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Like you, man Ty.

Speaker 9 (20:45):
One year, like fifteen twenty years ago, my mother made
peas and onions for as a side dish for I
don't know why, it just showed up. It was so
damn tasty. And then the next year I said, Mom,
what happened to the peas and onions?

Speaker 4 (20:56):
Since?

Speaker 9 (20:56):
I said, do you tell my mom something like that?
Like peas and onions is never going to not be
on the table. And you say, like, why is this
guy talking about peas and onions. It's like all these
dishes and all these main dishes and desserts and all that.
Don't forget the piece and don't forget the gunner. Okay,
Elijah Clark for the Dallas Cowboys and that hit. That's
that play that's gone viral where he knocked to the
ground and he gets back up and he comes down

(21:18):
and he knocks the ball loose. So they've had him
go through it on social media. Take us through the
entire play. I'm now watching gunners on Thanksgiving, like, I
can't wait to see what Elijah Clark's got in store
for us this week.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
You know what, first and third down. That's great. We'll
be watching pickings and CD and all that stuff. There.
It is. I would stolen long enough that we could
see it to get a job.

Speaker 9 (21:38):
This is just like, this is what football's about. This
earned this man, this young man a game ball. As
soon as Brian shott I ever saw this, postgame, some
edwarder showed him the clip of this. That is everything
that you need to be to be a Gunner. It's
not for everybody, It's for Elijah Clark. Congratulations, young man.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
It's a throwback too.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
I remember when I was a kid, it was Bill Bates,
Bill Bates fort on the Cowboys special teams and he
was just like fiery, sort of like he almost looked
like the Kirkland brand.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
John Lynch looked like John Lynch.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
But he was the special teams whiz for the Cowboys
on those championship teams and then went into coaching, and
I've just kind of insulted him, but I totally respect
Bill Bates.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
It reminds me he would make a play like that.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Is there any possibility that the Chiefs just walk in
there and just flex and just say we're back, We're
still the Chiefs. We just found something. We just beat
the Colts, like we're ready to roll and.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
We're just gonna run the tape.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
I don't know, Like we keep waiting for the Chiefs
to do like the Drakaris back from Game of the
Front where they just light the place on fire, and
they don't do it this year. But I'm just waiting
to see what we get from them. It's strange as
it sounds for a five to five and one team.
I think I know what I'm getting from Dallas. I
think the defense is going to be pretty good. I
think the offense is going to be great. I'm still
uncertain about the team that is in the Super Bowl

(22:50):
every single year.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
I still don't know. I'm so intrigued.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
The idea that Kansas City could fly back to Missouri
and be six and six and we're still gonna be like, yeah,
they'll be fine.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
When do we not say they're fine? Yeah, I'll tell
you what.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
They go in there tomorrow and they win thirty six
the twenty seven or something like that, everyone to like, Oh,
the Chiefs are going to the super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
It's just gonna happen. I can't wait to see what
we get from them, Jamie.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
That's what's wild times right now about this matchup.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
While the brands and the logos.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
What we see on the helmet are what loom large,
it's what we know.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Both of these teams right now sit all the way
down at the tenth seed in both of their respective conferences.
The Chiefs are beyond lurking at this point, with the
Texans and the Steelers still sitting ahead of them, and
they have to take on not only the Broncos and
the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
In the division.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Now on the NFC side of things, you can say
the same thing about the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
They are sitting at ten.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
They have that awkward tie that happened with the Packers
earlier this season. We still don't know what we're getting
with the Panthers down the stretch, and of course the
Lions will show us a little something something tomorrow alongside
the Packers. So I'll ping it right back out to
New York and Mike Gee, I appreciate the peas and onions.
I really do actually know what We're going to ignore
the side dish.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
No, we're not. We're going to go back to.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
The main event, shall we because part of what is
happening tomorrow and the main event for the game is
that Post Malone is performing at halftime, and Post Malone,
if you're teaming up with the Salvation Army, you are
going to spread joy far and wide.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
Take a look at this.

Speaker 15 (24:12):
Hey dad, oh my friend, I'll tell you what seeing
you with the backdrop of that stadium more? Are we
excited about you being there? Thanksgiving Day? For the red
Kettle kick calling we're going to have you carry the ball.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Well, let's hey, put me in for one play, just
one play.

Speaker 16 (24:32):
You'rest thank you for having us, and I'm so honored
to be able to play in.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Your house again. Mister Jones. I love you very much man.
Thank you for everything.

Speaker 15 (24:43):
Well post we love you, and I love it that
you here.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Thank you for having us, and I'll see you on Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Doesn't feel like anything more American than that.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Somehow, the Jones family of the Cowboys keep sticking the
landing on the halftime performer to support the Salvation Army
and the Red Kettle. We've been talking all day about
who we're going to see jump into that kettle. We
want to know the answer tomorrow between the Chiefs and
the Cowboys on CBS four thirty pm Eastern. Until then,
we'll be right back on GMFB.

Speaker 10 (25:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
You are looking live at Manhattan Island, New York City
and New York the media capital of the world from
which we do our media applause segment.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
It's called into the Booth, like you see Treigman right there.
Every once a while there in a broadcast.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
So they'll cut away from the game and go into
the booth, as I did with Mike and I. Right
now we have our mics and our blazers, and Mike,
we have some awards to hand out.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Are you ready here? I think there's some applause. It's
not usually applause.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Into the booth, but there should be, especially for this man.
Our first category today and into the booth is best
play call, and it goes to one of the greats,
Chiefs radio announcer Mitch Holthis is that Harrison Bucker game
winning kicks.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
It's a short field goal, close game.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
It's not like the most dramatic thing they've ever seen
in Arrowhead, and yet Mitch Holt that's still brought it.

Speaker 14 (26:09):
Two minutes to go in overtime, twenty to twenty time, Winchester.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
To snap it, Erijah to hold it.

Speaker 17 (26:18):
The Chiefs have never led in this football game, Ariza waits.

Speaker 6 (26:23):
For the Golts signal, but this cut is God, and.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
The Chiefs have not led in this game until No,
they gonna walk.

Speaker 10 (26:31):
Off field goal and over time from Harrison Bucker.

Speaker 17 (26:35):
Kansas City twenty three the Colts twenty in over time.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
Fantastic.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
And you know why it's so fantastic because Mitch Holta
has been doing it for years and if you think
you have Chiefs fatigue, he has called so many games
and so many wins. This random November game where they
beat the Colts, he makes it sound like they won
another Super Bowl. You still have all that oomph despite
all that winning. It's pretty impressive.

Speaker 9 (26:59):
It tells the story because last year they're blocking field
goals at the end of games, like no matter what,
it was gonna go right at the end of the game.
This year sort of feels like the opposite. So you
can hear a little bit of trepid day his voice
that starts to build up here because I don't want
to get ahead of myself given the way that the
season's gone. The other thing is, you're gonna get that
Kansas City. You know it's going Kansas. It's like play Freebirg.

(27:22):
You know it's coming. That's what the folks want.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
You're gonna get it.

Speaker 9 (27:25):
But you got to go through the whole play call
to get to that point and you're finally rewarded. Now
it's time for best milestone.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
You want to slide up as milestone. Here we go,
So what's what's the time for Mike?

Speaker 9 (27:34):
It is for Chris Collinsworth calling his what's the time for?

Speaker 4 (27:38):
I'm see you got my slide on? Ready? It's time for?
What time for? I don't know, Sunday Night Football?

Speaker 9 (27:43):
What does he say, Mike Thico, I don't know if
it is.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Yeah, that's harder than it looks. Oh man, I nailed
my knee against the table. Yeah, press, Yeah, you're like
Michael Jackson up there. I'm impressed.

Speaker 9 (27:52):
And he heard it almost five hundred times because this
five hundred NFL game in the booth, he brings back
the Collinsworth slide.

Speaker 16 (27:59):
It's a big night for us too, because mister Sunday
Night Football, Chris Collinsworth celebrates his five hundredth game in
the booth, So why not sliding for old time sake?

Speaker 4 (28:10):
It's a little harder than I remember. Congratulations, Thank you
bow for shoes.

Speaker 9 (28:15):
The backstory of this in case you forgot her, In
case you didn't know. In the first place, collins Worth
worked without Michael's Michael's contract stated he had to be
the only person on camera, just like the old Monday.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
I forgot for the only person. No, no, no other,
Chris collins No just out. I love that. That's awesome.
That's a power move, great clause, it's incredible. Have you
looked at yours lately? It doesn't have that. I doesn't
have that. You know.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
It's like it makes me wonder, like to get that,
did you have to give something back?

Speaker 4 (28:39):
You know?

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Like could he have need more money and not had
that in the clause like that was important?

Speaker 4 (28:44):
He didn't give the PJ back. I'll tell you that much.
I don't think he gave anything bad.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
The fact that he could have that, imagine listen, that's
so great.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Al's great.

Speaker 9 (28:52):
We talked plenty about how this is about Chris, a
friend of the show who's been on plenty of times before.
Congratulations on your five hundredth broadcast, and you're I don't know,
three hundred and twentieth slide.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Maybe a couple of things about Mike. You just bringing
that point.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
I wish there were more stats on broadcasting. I wish
because Chris has been part of three Men, booth, two men,
but he's done it.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
All, so I love they were more stats involved.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Also, last point regarding the Collins Worst slide, it's my
belief that initially when it was taken off online, I
don't think Chris loved that it was taken off online
because it's kind of about him, and I think he's
supposed to be about the game, and it became this
like this meme, and I don't think he thought it
was the funniest thing in the world like the internet did.
So I respect him for tipping the hat and doing
it on a special occasion.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Yes, it's really cool.

Speaker 9 (29:32):
It was sort of a celebratory or a ceremonial I
guess the word slide because it wasn't the full slide.
It was like, all right, I'm doing this.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Yet it's also a little bit like our guy Alfonso Ribeiro,
like people wanting to do the Carlton dance.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
Right, I think he does. He's a good sport about it. Yeah,
he embraces it. Was incredible.

Speaker 9 (29:49):
Mike Arico on the program tomorrow here at Good Morning Football.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
So we're going to say, nice thing, and when.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Mike comes on, he's going to be the only person
in the shot, none of us, just Mike.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
And you deserve that Mike in the contract.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
All right, we ow another legend spirit datas. I love
this guy, CBS broadcast. This is our this our category
best re search. Yes, okay, perfect Spiro calls out has
he has called games for Jacoby Brissett, Brissett playing on
six different NFL teams, and I believe we have a clip.

Speaker 16 (30:16):
Jacoby Brussette, as we will see Jacoby Brussette. Here comes
Jacoby present. Now we're going to get a change a quarterback.
Then comes Jacoby Brussett. So for the time being, it
is Jacoby Brissette. A little stroll down memory lane. We've
got a special relationship arch with Jacoby Prest.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
We're basically his roadies at this point.

Speaker 9 (30:35):
Well you are, and I think you know last week
it was a single game record full of completion.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
So I think they should play your picture next to
his jersey in Canton. How about that?

Speaker 4 (30:45):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
I didn't have you know, I didn't expect we'd be
talking the synergy between Sparrow Ddis and Jacoby Brissett. But
next same time, next year, Spiro, right, let's we got
to do it wherever Jacoby goes.

Speaker 9 (30:55):
Yeah, it could be a seventh different NFL team. Let's
make sure Mike North at the NFL that makes the schedule, make.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
Sure we line it up to the CBS.

Speaker 9 (31:03):
Got a game that Jacoby we were set potentially will start.
Now we got the best one liner of the week.
We're gonna call it best one liner Adam mean On
Isaiah Stallbird's leaping tackle.

Speaker 17 (31:14):
Third and five, there comes the blitz and Cousins nearly
got knocked down by Isaiah Stallbird. Eventually Stallberg recovers and
brings him down for the first sack of his NFL career.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
My gosh, he went airble flying like a bird. Look
at this. Turn that into a meme. Jumping into the weekend,
like jumping into the weekend? Yeah, I like that far
better jumping into the work week.

Speaker 9 (31:43):
I guess if you got the Sunday Scaries, right, yeah,
Like we all like.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
The Stallbird and cousins.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
If this Thanksgiving week take it's a lot of us
give our cousins the bird on Thanksgiving, which I probably will.
But that's incredible on the fly, literally Stallbird.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
I don't think you know.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Sometimes we accuse these guys of saying, oh, you had
that in the roster. I don't think him had a
Stallbird joke. No, the holster rather, but he still nailed it.
The guy who shows up every single week, The crew
shows up every single week, right, we know that This
is JJ and I in We have two categories for them, JJ,
Watte and Eagle. First of all, the having most fun category.

(32:18):
JJ really good with the pop culture references. Makes an
office reference to Michael Scott talking about all three of
the vasectomies that he got, the vasectomy, the unvest sectomy,
and the revasectomy.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
Snip snap, snip snap roll it.

Speaker 6 (32:33):
We're tied at seven. Just an update on that Pittsburgh touchdown.
New York has now changed it back to a rushing.

Speaker 4 (32:38):
Towels snip snap, stip snap.

Speaker 6 (32:40):
What are they doing? You have no idea what three
snips does to him? Man. I think Michael Scott's the
official score.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
That's great, and I doesn't miss it.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
He knows exactly where you go anything. It's not that
he just makes an offense reference. It's it's a good one.
It's kind of a deep one and an effortless one. Again,
JJ didn't know he would need to have the snip
snap ready, didn't prepare that for the game.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
He just had it. And he also has another award.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
This is what's happening with this crew second sot as
we call it a sound on tape for TJ and
I and TJ having the most fun.

Speaker 6 (33:12):
And that is shack number one fifteen for TJ.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Watt.

Speaker 6 (33:16):
Well, that's it. I'm gonna put the pads back on
because this is preposterous.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
I'm sure John and Connie would love that.

Speaker 18 (33:24):
Mom, Dad, Uncle Jay. Good to see you guys in
the crowd. It really is a pretty cool, emotional day.
We used to dream about days like these. Hey, holding
up you okay, I appreciate you. Lett me cry on
your shoulder. Oh my gosh, look at little TJ.

Speaker 6 (33:41):
Who would have thought one hundred and fifteen sacks. Try
to do that now, try to cradlet like that. Now,
that'd be great. I could do that with you right here.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Guys are fantastic. That's good literally getting better.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
Yeah, And it's a challenge, I think for JJ to
do the brother thing because he's done it several times
where you want to be unbiased and he's done a
great job with that, and then you also have to
be a hold on it's your brother, talk about it.
We're showing baby pictures and then he does that and
that's right back to football. It's it's a tough, tough assignment.
I think it does really well.

Speaker 9 (34:12):
And the call of the sack fumble was great. He said,
if he was going to pass me, that's the way
you would want to do it, with a spectacular play
the way that he did. Great job JJ WHT great
job TJ Watt across the.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Board and by the way, shout out to Derek Watt.
My favorite of the WAP brothers is Derek. I stand
up for Derek. Derek, come on the show sometime. That's
it for end of the booth.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Who knows what's going to be the next segment on
the show.

Speaker 9 (34:32):
Frank stallone, Yeah, it's Ozzie Cansakos are my people.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
I have no problem with that. With the third Hemsworth brother,
I love you Derek. Guys name me there, you're the man.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
One of the things that makes Thanksgiving the tradition it
is is, of course food, and with that comes debating.
I like this food, This food's good. You like this food,
and that's really part of the fun. Well Ian Rappaport
on this very media group had a nuclear take this
week on apple pie, saying it's disgusting and he hates it.
That caused me to do something even more American than
apple pie, which is invoked democra I went to social

(35:05):
media and I asked the people what their relationship is
like with apple Pie. Here are the results, and we'll
have Ian to comment on these results.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
Hell, yes, I love it over half at fifty three.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
Percent, it's fine at thirty two to five about a third,
and then full gross at fourteen percent.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Pretty respectable.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
So following this, there were several tweets directed at raps Sheet,
and here's just one of them speaking for all the
tweets that came. Didn't realize Rapsheet hated America. Ess he
hates bald Eagles, sunsets, Freedom.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
And Chevrolet trucks.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Also, in the meantime, we've done the research on rap
Sheet's Twitter account. Apparently in the wake of this, it
lost nearly two thousand followers. Over eighteen hundred people said
I'm not following rap sheet just yesterday based on this
as real people. I think they're all real people, fans
of this nation. Ian Rapaport now joins us live Ian.

(36:04):
I I don't agree with your take on apple Pie,
but I do respect that you have one, So please
to flor Is yours to take it anywhere you would like.

Speaker 5 (36:11):
First of all, I would say to the eighteen hundred
people who stop following me because they hate apple pie.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Peace, see you later.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
Wow, don't want you, don't need you. Got a lot
of followers, don't need those ones. I don't understand why
this is controversial, and here's my frustration. I feel like
everyone for the last I don't know. However, many hundred
years has been pretending that they like apple pie, which sucks,
by the way, pretending they like apple pie because they

(36:38):
think it makes the American.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
I am confident enough in my.

Speaker 5 (36:41):
Status as a full blooded American. I love America. Okay,
I don't need to pretend to like apple pie, which
again sucks, just to show my bona fides as an American.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
I'm an American. Hold on, okay the pie still hold on?
Hold on a very important question.

Speaker 9 (36:59):
And for the first time in my life, I'm going
to ask this as not a will Hunting reference.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
Do you like apples? I mean not really? I don't know. Like, well,
that's the problem. Good.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
No, the pie also sucks, by the way, cherry pie
sucks too. It's not just apple pie.

Speaker 4 (37:17):
All fruit pie sucks. Look who we got hair for you?

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Pie got warm apple pie, And Mike's not gonna go
hold on.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
We can do another.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
I have by my office so I can put it
right in the trash.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
If I get up, I can just give it. That's
all well and good, Kyle. But give the people what
they want taking tell me begs, give it.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Happy makeup Christmas.

Speaker 6 (37:51):
One of them
