On the latest episode of Move the Sticks, Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks break down the biggest headlines from around the NFL.

The guys kick things off with the news that’s been swirling all offseason, Aaron Rodgers is officially headed to Pittsburgh on a one-year deal. They dig into what the dynamic might look like between Rodgers and Mike Tomlin, and predict who could emerge as Rodgers’ go-to target on offense.

Then, they shift to New England, where they dive into Drake Maye’s development in Year 2 and why this year’s Patriots draft class could be the foundation of a playoff-caliber roster down the line.

Plus, DJ and Bucky react to the Packers’ decision to release star cornerback Jaire Alexander.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
And now Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
What's up, everybody? Welcome to move the sticks. DJ. Buck
with you Buck? How you doing man, Man? I'm good. DJ.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Like this is funny because it's it's a great week
because you got mini camps, but then it's a sad
week because it's about six weeks of nothing that's gonna
go on in the NFL when it comes to real
football activity. So that means from a content standpoint, this
is when we come up with our lists as we're
gone with hot or not all this other stuff. So

(00:33):
now looking forward to that part of the podcast season,
but I am excited about the stuff that's on the
horizon when it comes.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
To this week.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yeah, it's kind of I'll tell you what time it is.
I'll show you what time of year it is. Book,
it's this time of year, baby, it's going Go get
your preview magazines, get get get out by the pool,
the beach, wherever you want to go and get some
sun and and kind of read up on what's going
on in the in the landscape of things. Although I
almost think these college magazines almost become outdated because even

(01:01):
you know, if they released these things in May. There's
still a little movement here. I get some changes around
college football.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Look, it never stops. I mean it's kind of crazy,
but it never stops. The portal is always popping. You
got people coming and going. You'll see some things happen
right before everyone gets in the camp. So how can
you even accurately predict who's going to be where and
what when you really don't know what that final ross
is going to look like?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
We are going to get to some of the newsy
items here. There was some some stuff that went down.
I want to start thoughts. Let's kick it off here.
It's time for Hot or Not, brought to you by
with Sabby Hot Cloud Storage. I don't know if this
was the hot topic of the last month, maybe the
warm topic, because I think there is some Rogers fatigue,
but as we all kind of anticipated and expected, it

(01:49):
finally gets done there with the Pittsburgh Steelers. So we
haven't been together since that went down. What are your
thoughts on that one?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Okay, So I'm so conflicted right because I have Aaron
Rod just fatigue because I feel like for the past
two three years we've talked about him being kind of
like a forced multiplier. Like he's a four time MVP,
a super Bowl champion, first ballot Hall of Famer, all
of those things. But you just wonder, at this stage
of his career, what can he offer a team. And

(02:18):
then there's certain teams that you're like, man, I don't
know with this work, how's this going to fit? And
Pittsburgh I just have a big question mark. And the
reason why I have a big question mark is DJ.
I just would think that if you're Anon Rogers, if
you're going to make this move, even if you have
a family situation, commit to the team. Let the team
begin this process of kind of putting everything together so

(02:42):
that you can kind of build the chemistry and the
connectivity that you need to get going. I mean, now
you have a mini camp for three days, you have
a six week thing off, you have training camp, and
then we're playing. I just don't know if that's enough
time to build the chemistry and all the things that
you need to play really really good football for a

(03:04):
team that is Look, man, it's in a tough division
and they're in a tough conference when it comes to
earning a playoff seat.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yeah, this feels to me though, does this one feel different.
This feels different to me than the Jets thing. Whereas
I thought the Jets was we are going to create
or cater to every single need. We're going to build
the Aaron Rodgers universe with the coaches you like, with
the players you like, with the system you like. This
feels like I'm not saying that the I want to

(03:32):
use the term the upper hand, but it does feel like, Hey,
you're kind of coming into who we are and what
we are, and it's not like we're going to adjust
our whole world for you. It is kind of what
that felt like.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah, I see that, right, And this is a little
different because we all have a tremendous amount of respect
for Mike Tomlin and Mike Tomlin being able to kind
of weather the storms that come along with strong personality players.
But how do you established a hierarchy when Aaron Rodgers
comes in. I think that is really important. And it's

(04:05):
not just a hierarchy between ay Man, I'm the head coach,
you're the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I'm gonna run my program.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
You're gonna comply, but it's also, hey, we're not running
this offense that you've always run. Arthur Smith has been here,
second year, Arthur Smith being here. We have a vision
for how we want this offense to run. Certainly, we'll
tweak it and bend around some of your talents, but
this is the way that we want to play and
the way that we want to play confidence, the way

(04:32):
that we play defense, the compliments, the way that our
formula and our blueprint for winning. Do we believe that
all of those things can hold true when the storm
hits somewhere in the season. Can they stay true too?
Hey man, I'm just gonna be the player. I'm gonna
be the guy that fits into the team, and I'm
not gonna make it about like me.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
I just want to win.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I want to win at the highest level, and I'm
winning to kind of sacrifice some of my own game
to make sure that the team's successful.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Do you think that Tomlin's status and resume will lead
to a little different attitude or behavior there on?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Rogers partner. Maybe.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Look, well, let's talk about the last two coaches that
he had, right, So, he had Robert Solid with the
Jets and he had Matt Lafleur with the Green Bay Package.
Both were unproven when they had those jobs, and he
was the guy that certainly had more clout than them.
This is different because this would be Look, man, I
can't even say the first quote because Mike McCarthy won

(05:33):
with him, But he has to walk into the building
respecting Mike Tomlin because Mike Tomlin is kind of like
an institution when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steels in
what he's been able to do. Yeah, so it might
be a little different in terms of the respect factor
and maybe the way that Mike Tomlin communicates because we've
seen him take on these kinds of personalities going all
the way back whatever Mike Vick, like he dealt with

(05:55):
Ben Roethlisberger, so he's dealt with different types. Maybe the
conversation will be very direct from Mike Tomlin in terms
of what he respects without it being kind of like
a peeing contest, but one where hey, look, here's what
I expect from you, Here's what you can expect from me.
Here's how we operate with the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
If you do these things.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
They would never have a problem and I will always
have you back in public as long as you are
complicit with the things that we've talked about.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Yeah, I was also thinking from a performance standpoint, you know, Okay, gosh,
he's another year older. Didn't really do anything with him
during the off season, like what can we expect from
him performance wise? But he's also, you know, another year
removed from the Achilles. So if you look at the
drop off that we saw with Kirk Cousins after his
injury and what we saw last year, and then the

(06:44):
hope you know for others being like, oh gosh, you know,
Cousins can't be that bad, like he'll he'll be better
this year. Another year removed. Well, if we take that
same thought process towards Aaron Rodgers, like maybe Aaron Rodgers
has got you know, he finished up fine, he played
fine the last for the season. If he's able to
come back, you know, even healthier and fresher, maybe even

(07:05):
at his age, you see a little bit. They don't
need a huge, huge year, but a bounce back a
little bit, a little bit better version of what we
saw last year. I think that's that's entirely possible.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
That is totally possible.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
And look, I can say a lot of things about
Aaron Rodgers, and I felt like he was a descending player,
but last year he threw for over thirty eight hundred yards.
He had eleven intercessions, but he almost had thirty touchdowns.
He can be productive in an offense that is really
built around the things that he does well while also
alleviating some of the pressure on him. I would say

(07:38):
that Arthur Smith is going to continue to have a
commitment to the running game, and if they build it right,
maybe they can use Aaron Rodgers his knowledge, his experience,
his expertise in terms of getting the team in the
right play to even take that to another level, not
only with the running game.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
But with the passing game.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
But look, it's a give and take, it's a yin
and yan in terms of how they're going to do this,
because let's be honest, Aaron Rodgers has never played in
this type offense. He's kind of been in his own
offense for the last fifteen, sixteen, seventeen years. Now He's
going to have to learn or adjust a little bit
to what another team does. That's different, but it might

(08:19):
be invigorating for an older player looking for another challenge,
because the only reason Aaron Rodgers comes back is because
he wants to be challenged in some capacity. Maybe this
will give him a chance to really challenge himself and
maybe that brings out the best in him.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
I'm gonna finish it up on this last thing here.
So when you look at their skill players that they
have there and they bring in in the backfield, they
bring in Caleb Johnson, Najia Harris has gone, so they
draft Caleb Johnson a third round to pair him up
with Jalen Warren. They bring over Kenneth Gainwell, kind of
an under the radar move, someone who catches the BA
out of the backfield. When you're looking at their whiteouts,
You've got dk You've got Robert Woods who they brought in.

(08:56):
You've got Calvin Austin who's the speed guy. You've got
Rome and Wilson, who I know they're hopeful to get
something out of this year after kind of a lost
rookie season. You've got Scronic who's you know, a physical,
tough guy. It's Scottie Miller. And then you look at
the tight ends. You got Friarmouth. You got Darnell Washington
in that group there. So if I was going to
ask you who ends up in the Rogers trust tree,

(09:19):
because we know he has his guys that that he
kind of attaches to and trusts, and that's where the
football can go. Because I was looking at that list,
there was one name who kind of stood out to
me who might end up having a sneaky good year.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Who's that name?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Robert Woods ding Ding ding ding Ding Does that kind
of feel like a Rogers receiver.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
It does only because he's experienced enough, he's playing.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Going to be where he's supposed to be in the
same way.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
And also he has an even killed personality.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
And when you think about the ones who really registered
will with Aaron Rodgers has been the guys that are
pretty even in terms of did demeanor, how they go
about their game, all of those things. DK Metcalf can
be a little emotional and so if the boy isn't
going his way, I can see him kind of going
up and down emotionally. Whereas Robert Woods to me is
the consummate professional, going all the way back to his

(10:10):
time with the Rams. I mean, he is a steady
eddy pro and that'll work. And I also think Roger
will fall in love with the tight end because fried
Mouths can make plays, he can get it done in
key moments. They have a very balanced ball control offense
with DK Metcalf being able to kind of take the
top off of it. I'm curious to see how Arthur

(10:31):
Smith really does it, because remember when Arthur Smith has
been at his best, and I'm gonna use Ryan Tannehill
to get to the point on Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
When Ryan Tannehill was.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
The NFL Comeback Player of the Year under the tutelage
of Arthur Smith, it was about an offense that really
relied on yack yards have to catch was big. You
remember John news Smith had significant numbers. AJ Brown had
big numbers. This may be an offense that relies a
little more on the catch and run concept part of
their playbook, where they get the ball into playmaker's hands

(11:03):
and let them kind of go to work. That might
be the way that they go about it, with an
occasional deep shot to DK down the field. But I
think this might be a little more connect the dots
on offense which plays to Aaron Rodgers' strengths as an efficient,
high completion percentage passer from the pocket.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah, no doubt the uh the eyes will be on them,
that's for sure. And we'll start right there from the
jump week one. So the schedule makers knew what was
what was going to grab some attention. I think they
might have known.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Maybe this.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Just I'm not going to say that I'm not a
conspiracy theorist, but I am going to say that maybe
in major sports leagues.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
That maybe they kind of know us on the horizon.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
We talk about Pittsburgh playing the Jets, Cooper flag somehow
finding his way to the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Yeah, probably how that all works out. Sometimes sometimes the
universe just brings about gifts.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah, and then you know who have you looked to
see who the Steelers play? Week two, no Seattle, So
you get the DK Metcalf game right after the Aaron
Rodgers game. So a lot of your emotions of a
lot of emotion, a lot of storylines there. That was
this week's Hot or Not segment, brought to you by
with Sabbi Hot Cloud storage, store more and do more

(12:21):
with your data. Try them for free at withsaby dot com.
All right, buck, next topic here real quick, and some
of it's still related to the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Here, TJ.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Watt, no Shows, Terry McLaurin, Trey Hendrickson. How much do
you read into it when you get guys who are
looking for deals and they don't show up to these
mini camps here.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
I would say, look, man, Hendrickson to me is not
the surprised in terms of not showing up because they've
been so far apart. It has been very acrimonious in
terms of disnegotiation between a player who wants his deal
Sweeden and a team.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Who is very adamant about.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
We'll get to it when we get to We just
been a bunch money on these playmakers, like we need
to make sure we're good to go with the budget
before we go and get the pass rusher. So I'm
not surprised on the trade Henderson thing, TJ.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Watt thing.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
I would believe that they would all operate more in
good faith on both ends. And Man, you may show
up and not do anything, but typically you've been the
ultimate team guy.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
This team tends to reward their homegrown stars. I'm surprised
that has been more of a.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Story than Trade Henderson because I didn't expect Trade Henderson
to get any movement on this contract deal. I think
they're pretty dug in Cincinnati is when it comes to
the deal they want to do.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Yeah, for those that were wondering, if you just look
at what TJ. Watt's done over the last few years.
Here we go last year eleven and a half sacks,
twenty three nineteen sacks only ten games, and twenty two
with five and a half but twenty one twenty two
and a half sacks. So when you think about performance, production, character,

(14:01):
you know, locker room, all that stuff, like to me
that one, I wouldn't spend a whole lot of time
worrying about it. And the Steelers, I think I would
say they view him as a statue type player. I
think they'll end up figuring that out and take care
of him, so I wouldn't spend too much time worrying
about that. I think that'll find its way to get done.
One other name we didn't mention Mishaan Slater. His deal

(14:21):
is not done yet. I have not seen as a
recording as I think he showed up. I'm not sure,
but I think he showed up to their mini camp.
But that'll be an eye. Have an eye on that
one as well, see if they can get that contract done.
All right, Buck, Let's take quick break, come back, a
couple more things to hit right after this, all right, Buck,

(14:43):
As we continue to kind of look around some stuff
that's gone down since we were last together. I want
to hit on two of them here. Let's look at
at first of all, Jay R Alexander.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
He's gone.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
They could not figure out a way to make a
trade work because of eating money, and it gets kind
of complicated. Where do you come down on it when
you got a twenty eight year old corner who's been
a little bit banged up. Good player, but it's kind
of to me it personally, it feels like this is
a prove it, one year incentive laden deal situation for
whoever goes after him.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Yeah, I think so, DJ.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
I feel like Mark Murphy was very transparent in terms
of outlining the Packers fieldings towards Jerry Alexander.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
They loved what he was as a player.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
He's a two time All Pro, but DJ, in his
last sixty eight games, he's only played thirty four of them,
I mean he has in the last two years, he
played in seven regular season games apiece. He was the
highest paid corner when he signed his extension four year,
eighty four million dollars, and they lately haven't got enough
bang for their buck. And he is a really good

(15:48):
player and all of those things. But I think the
other thing that people won't talk about is there's some
emotional maturity things that popped up during this time where
you could just see it's kind of annoying to Matt Lafleur,
Like when he ran out for the coin toss. I
think down in Carolina, he jumped in the mix and
he wasn't assigned to be a captain, then got involved

(16:10):
and kind of did his thing. They're just some things
that just having been in that organization as a player man,
those things are not necessarily tolerated. So I am not
surprised to see didn't move on. But he's still a
really good player. And what you hope is you're a
team that has the right medical staff and the training
staff to put him in his best Well he can

(16:31):
suit up all seventeen games, because when he suits up,
he's as good as anybody on the island. Of late though,
it's just been a hard time getting him to suit
up consistently.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Yeah, if he plays, he schemed diverse, and he's really talented.
You can use him in any way you want to
use him. He's got really good eyes, he's got instincts.
When fully healthy, he can run and carry, so he
is a really good player. I would imagine to me,
that's a you know, that's a playoff team. That's a
team that's chasing something, that's looking to make a little
bit of an aggressive move there. I'm curious to see

(17:03):
where he ultimately lands and where he ends up. But
you're always going to get opportunities at a corner, even
when you've you know, had some durability issues talent wise'
that's worth the risk there. So we'll see what happens
with him, all right. One other thing I wanted to
hit you on, Buck, because there was, you know, a
lot of stuff going down, a lot of stuff flying
around here. One is not injury related or contract related.

(17:24):
But I'm gonna say I'm talk out of both sides
of my mouth because I've said in the past, I
don't really read into anything that you hear during this
time of year.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
It's a lot of fluff pieces. You don't know.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
If something good is happening on defense, then maybe the
offense stinks. If something good has happened on offense, maybe
the defense stinks. So there's always good news and bad
news based off of that. But looking at this one,
to me, I just like the fact that the vibes
I'm getting out of Drake May coming out of New
England and the positivity that you're here and there is
he's kind of picking things up here, because that is

(17:55):
not a real simple offense there with Josh McDaniels, and
I thought there was I thought there's going to be
some growing pains there. And I love Drake May's ability
and I think he's going to be really, really good.
But to me, I thought, hey, be patient here, this
might take a minute for this all to come together.
But so far, man, it's been really positive.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah, it's been really positive. And look, the move that
they made is a move.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
It's funny because I remember Drake May when we talked
and we heard him, he always liking himself to Josh Allen,
and the Patriots, in my mind, were very intentional about
pairing Drake May with Stefan Diggs because Stefan Diggs worked
wonders for Josh Allen in terms of giving him that consistent,
reliable playmaker on the perimeter as he evolved and grew.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Into being an MVP caliber player.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Well, Stefan Diggs is going to occupy a similar role
in New England for Drake May where they're counting on
their number one receiver to be the guy that can
consistently get open, to be this security blanket for Drake May.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Now, over the last couple of weeks, we have some.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Stuff off the field that had popped up on that
Mike Rabel handled it, addressed it, and what he said
in his about Diggs in terms of like where he's
at and what they expect from him on the field.
You love those things, but it was really this offseason
was about putting Drake May in a position where you're
surrounded by enough firepower on the perimeter and protected to

(19:17):
be able to display the talent that he displayed at
North Carolina. It won't be perfect, but it certainly should
be much better than it was his rookie season.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Yeah, we've done all the draft recap stuff, so I
don't want to go back through everything. But if this
team ends up being let's say, you know, this year
they can get close to five hundred, which would I
think would be a huge success, and the following year
they're a playoff team, which I think is all possible,
we could be looking back a handful of years from now,
and if I told you, like five years from now,

(19:45):
four years from now, you look back and Will Campbell's
you know, a steady, reliable, you know, maybe gets into
a Pro Bowl. Left tackle Kyle Williams is a productive,
you know, seventy five eighty catch guy at receiver. Even
a little bit more than that. Jared Wilson establishes himself
as as a top ten ish center. Trey Van Henderson

(20:06):
is one of the top five to eight running backs
in the NFL with his diverse skill set. Like we
always have these these teams that you know, make turnarounds
and make runs, and we can always point back to
one draft, even though Drake is the quarterback and the
most important piece. I think this draft they just had
might be the one that makes them, you know, a
playoff team here going forward.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Yeah, because they look not only I would say this offseason.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I would say not only what they did in the draft,
because you outline exactly what they did in the draft,
but the players that they brought over in free agency,
getting the right kind of guys, the kind of guys
that kind of fit the brand, the blue collar personality
of their coach, Mike Brabel. They have a lot of
those guys from Robertsplane to getting Harold Landry to Williams
coming over, Colin Davis, like.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
On and on and on. They have a veteran laden.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Team that not only brings playing ability, but they bring
some leadership qualities. There were need for a team that
is learning or that is going to need to learn
how to win.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Uh. Yeah, this team is well positioned.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
I'm not saying that they're gonna close the gap and
snatch the division from the Bills, but I do believe,
given Mike Able's success with the Bills, that he's gonna
put a target on their back and they're going to
be a lot closer than many people think towards being
a playoff team and a team that eventually can take
the title back away from the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how it all
comes together.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
There's a lot of new pieces, and again I was
going to say, let's just be patient, let's let this
thing kind of gel together here. But I love what
the Patriots have done, as you mentioned, not just in
the draft, but in the in freegency as well, Which
gets me to my final thing for today. I'm gonna
give I'm gonna give you three teams if I you know,
back in the day, we used to be a little
bit more liberal in terms of how we could go
out to training camps. Remember you just be like, hey,

(21:48):
these are these are eight to ten camps. I want
to get a film go on. Not like that anymore,
but so the but if I if they could, if
I could, if I could recommend three, Like if I
could just put hey, I want to go see these
three camps once things get going. These are the three
I'll give you that I want to go see, and
then I want to get you to the three that
you go see. I want to go first of all,

(22:09):
the team we just talked about in New England. I
want to see Greg in this offense. I want to
see all these new pieces. I want to see Travon Henderson.
I want to see this whole thing come together. That's
number one, Number two, that's same quarterback class. I want
to go see Caleb Williams. I want to see how
that Ben Jonson relationship is forming. I want to see
that new offensive line, what they look like, how they're
yelling together. I mean Colston Lovelin, I think is going

(22:30):
to be a fascinating piece there. So that would be
the second one. That i'd want to go see. And
then thirdly, and again you'll see the theme here. I'm
kind of I'm looking at some quarterbacks and they all
happen to be in the same draft class. I want
to see Minnesota in that same division. I want to see, man,
they had a lot of success with Sam Donald, but
they decided that's not good enough and JJ McCarthy can

(22:50):
take us to another level. What does that look like?
They're in Minnesota. So those would be the three that
I would cherry pick that i'd want to go see
in training camp.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
How about you?

Speaker 3 (22:59):
I like and the quarterback is a theme where everyone
wants to chase. So for me, I want to go
to Washington. I want to see if the buzz is real.
I want to see if Jayden James is ready to
take the next step or if he's going to fall
back with a sophomore slump. Everything that I'm reading, everything
that I'm seeing, Man, the Washington commanders are ready to

(23:19):
go and they're ready to go compete at the highest
level when it comes to what they've been able to do.
So I want to see him and how he's progressing.
I also want to make my way out to Seattle
because I'm so intrigued by what the Sam Donald experience
is going to produce in the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle
Seahawks made a very intentional move to move on from

(23:42):
Geno Smith to give Sam Donald an opportunity to play
on Clinton Kobiac. They kind of flip the wide receiver
room and all those things, a lot of moving pieces.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
What does this look like and how does it go?

Speaker 3 (23:57):
And then DJ, I can't go on a trip and
not have a Shader Sanders sighting.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
I put my eyes on the dog pround. I gotta go,
and I have to see one.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Just for my own selfish reasons as a coach, I
just want to see how do you get four quarterbacks
reps practice to be able to fully evaluate that.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
That'll help from a personal standpoint.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
But two, I kind of want to see what this
looks like because it's one thing to hit the reports
to see the clips. It's another thing to see it
all play out. How are the Cleveland Browns going to
pull this off? Joe Flacco, Kenny pick At, Dylan Gabriel,
and Shader Sanders. We typically root for chaos. This will

(24:39):
be as chaotic at training camp as I can imagine
when it comes to evaluating a quarterback and picking a
quarterback and like a three week.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Run, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
And by the way, I'm sure this will get clipped off.
So if it does, right down below, let us know
what training camps must see. I'd be curious to see
if if we're on the right track, if you think
there's other ones that would be more appealing and more
interest thing, so let us know on that front, Buck,
this was this was fun to get back together.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Man.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
It's enjoy every little morsel of news we get right
now because we are getting ready the dry season. But
that's why I love That's why I love our format
in our pod because we don't we aren't beholden to
just what's the latest news in the NFL. This is
a Newsy episode, but we've been doing a bunch of
interviews that fascinate us. We've got some great guests on
the horizon. You know, we're going to bring back our
buddy Tom Crean, who I think is outstanding again. Another

(25:28):
basketball connection here, but obviously his brothers in law. Brother
in law's Jim and John Harbaugh. It's a football family.
So I have a great conversation with him. We are
going to get our pal John Gordon on, who is
literally the coach of the coaches, I mean from from
Sean McVay all the way through. I mean, he's got
tons of guys that he's influencing in all different sports.

(25:49):
So we'll have him on. We're working on getting our
buddy Jim Naggy, who just built out a full personnel
department at Oklahoma. I mean he got he hired our
bunch of our friends. I don't know if you saw.
Drew Hill was brought is in there as well, who's
been had a lot of experience there at Oklahoma. So
they've got a great personnel department that they've built there.
So decided to bring Jim on and discuss how the

(26:11):
landscape has changed. We got that new ruling that came
down on kind of the financial situation moving forward for
college football. So again, lots of fun conversations we're going
to have. We get a chance to kind of spread
out a little bit. We don't have to just stay
in our lane, so to speak.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Yeah, no, it should be fun and I'm looking forward
to these conversations because, as you know, we both are
avid readers, lifelong learners and just the ability to talk
to so many different people in different walks of life
to see if we can take any of those nuggets
that have helped them help us be even better in
what we do.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Then no doubt. All right, that's gonna do it for
us today. I hope you guys have enjoyed it. I
hope you're enjoying your off season as the NFL is
wrapping up this mini camp week here, and we'll have
a little more going on here before it goes completely dark,
but we'll have you covered here. We'll at least have
some interesting conversations. I can promise you that we'll keep
the bar low and we'll exceed it. We'll see you

(27:05):
next time right here on movie sticks.
