Speaker 1 (00:00):
And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
What's up, everybody walking to move the sticks DJ Bucky together, Buck,
I'm I'm rocking the Hawaiian shirt in honor of our
buddy reht Lewis who for years, I don't know if
he's wimped out, but he used to always wear the
flower shirt on the last day of path. It's kind
of a sign that vacation was on the way.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Yeah, vacation is definitely on the horizon.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
It's been a long little grind going from the regular
season to draft season, and so now you can kind
of see, you see lighted the end of the tunnel
in terms of having a little time to get on
the beach kind of hangout, chill out.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
So, yeah, your Hawaiian shirt is very appropriate. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
The other thing, by the way, before we jump in,
we're gonna do kind of go through our favorite picks
by team, and we'll go through the entire league here
in just a moment. But have you done what I've
done the last couple of days, which as you come
up for air and you're like, son of a gun,
how bad is this gopher problem we've got in the
backyard right now, Like I had no idea. This is
like it's like a playground out there for for a

(01:00):
go for I've got needs that haven't been pulled, like,
I've got all kinds of stuff going on over here.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, trying to ketch up on the projects, trying to
catch up on everything, like like everything kind of goes
on pause for a minute when you're getting ready for
the draft and trying to put everything together because you know,
when you're working on shows and you're doing all the
other stuff getting ready for the big event the three
day weekend, it takes a lot of time.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
And so yeah, I'm back.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I'm trying to settle in, trying to figure out like,
oh I need to make a bit appointment for my dog,
you need to do this things to do you know.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, it's that type of a week. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
I just went to the I got my car washed,
Like golly, my car is filthy?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Oh my car is? My car is dirty? Like yeah,
so dirty?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, because you're like, man, I just is like on
the hierarchy of needs, having the clean car with all
the other crap we got going on is not real
high up there.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
But yeah, so I got that.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I went made a trip to the grocery store and
then uh got the car washed.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
So we're we're back in the normal life.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
You're back, You're back in back in the mix. Yeah,
it's kind of yeah, all right, Well let's go. I've
printed these out alpha, so we'll just go alpha. I'm
gonna read off all the names quickly and then you
grab a name, I'll grab names. We kind of get
two guys to highlight for the draft for each team.
Great roll yep, all right, Arizona Cardinals. Paris Johnson from
Ohio State, the big tackle Bjjli edge rusher from LSU,

(02:21):
Garrett Williams from Syracuse to corner Michael Wilson, big white
out from Stanford, John Gaines guard UCLA, Clayton Tuned the
quarterback from Houston, Owen pap Poe, the fast linebacker from Auburn,
Key Trell Clark had a good week at the East
West at Louisville, and then Dante Stills from West Virginia.
Who do you think they're Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I think b Lari is the guy that stands out
to me. It stands out because we talked about this
team needing the pass rusher, and we thought that pass
user may come early in the draft, and so in
BJJ Lari, what they're doing. The Cardinals are gambling on
a guy with outstanding athleticism, first step quickness and burst
and you're hoping that that will translate into sack production.

(03:01):
And so if they can get that, it is all
of a huge need, maybe one of their biggest knees
in terms of being able to get after the quarterback.
So oj Lari comes in as a second round pick,
but man, they have to have a big role for
him because they need him to play at a high
level immediately.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, not like a thumper, but real athletic, you know,
bender and can run him on stunts and loops and
all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
But they need some passt rush.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
So I like that when I went Michael Wilson, the
big white out from Stanford who they got in the
third round pick ninety four. He led Stanford in touchdowns
last year, only played six games. He's been hurt throughout
his career. He's had some drops, but we saw him
at the Senior Bowl. He had a great week down there.
He's big, he's physical, he can run, so upside pick there.
I liked the idea of taking a flyer taking a
shot on him in the third round. All right, so

(03:45):
that's the Cardinals. Let's get to the Atlanta Falcons. B
Jon Robinson eighth pick, Matthew bergeron the guard from Syracuse
at thirty eight. They come back in the third round,
gets Zach Harrison, the edge rusher from Ohio State, Clark
Phillips from Utah in the fourth round, the corner DeMarco Hellums,
safety from Alabama on the seventh and then Jovon Gwynn,
the little guard center from South Carolina in the seventh round.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
So that's the Falcons here go.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I'm gonna go with Matthew bergeron his ability to play
multiple spots up front really helps this offensive line. There's
a big conversation about why we have the Nfalcons spend
a luxury pick on a running back. Well, you can
do go and do that based on what Vijon Robinson
is as a playmaker. If you go back and handle
the offensive line, this is the guy burg around who

(04:30):
started on both sides. He can play multiple positions along
that front line. And so for Arthur Smith, as you're
trying to put your best five on the field, bergerun
plays a key role in that.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah, and there's been a quarterback carousel in this in
this division in the off season. Getting Clark Phillips to
come in as a corner who can play inside and
play outside. I think he's gonna end up being a nickel.
Had six picks last year taking the ball away. I
think as like these offenses are getting adjusted in this
division to all their new quarterbacks. Like he could be
a sneaky rookie that all of a sudden, you look up,
You're like, hold up, this dude's got like five picks

(05:02):
this year because he knows how to find and play
the ball.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
He absolutely knows how to play. One of my favorite players,
one of my favorite corners in the draft. I wrote
down on my nose I thought he might be pound
for pound because he be in the draft.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, that's not a bad way to look at it.
It's a good take. Baltimore Ravens wide receivers A Flowers
picked twenty two. They get Trenton Simpson, the linebacker from
Clemson pick eighty six, and the third and the fourth
round Tavius Robinson, linebacker from Old Mess Cayu Blue Kelly,
the corner from Stanford. In the fifth, Sally a la move.

(05:33):
Lal Lou probably messed that one up. The big tackle
from Oregon in the sixth and then Andrew Vore he's
coming off in a cl from usc guard. They got
in the seventh round.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Let's go Trent Simpson from Clemson.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
This is a team that has quietly been trying to
fill this linebacker void for a while. Got Patrick Queen,
but he hasn't lived up or played up to expectation.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Made a trade with the Bears rokwon.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yeah, you know, and still and here you are still
using a pig to try and to a dress a
situation that you thought you probably sufficiently feeled. Even though
it's a third round pick, we expect third round is
still eventually be starters, and so trans Simpson someone who's
super athletic, not as instinctive as you would like. But man,
maybe they find a way to unlock his talents. If

(06:20):
they do, maybe they finally solve that that that that
void that's really been open since they lost CJ.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Mostly. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
No, he can run, man, he can really really run.
And they have done a good job of finding some
linebackers historically, even outside the first round that done. A
night Shop's got in that position, I'll go with Jay Flowers.
I mean to me, he's the first round pick. A
couple thoughts are number one, you give Lamar five for
two sixty. Hey, let's give him some more dudes so
that he can make us look smart here. And this

(06:48):
offense is going to more funder Todd Monk and they're
going to be throwing it more. So let's give him
some more firepower that did with Odell. Now you bring
in Jay Flowers, and quick thoughts on this one, Buck
if you're you know, everybody has their blind spots and
the Ravens, I think that's something crazy. The status like
they're the only team that's never drafted a Pro Bowl
wide receiver, the only organization never so they've bet, but

(07:10):
they've had success with bets, the Ankwon Boldens, the Derek Mason's,
the Steve Smith's, they've been able to get some success
with those guys coming in. So my thought on that
real quick was Jay Flowers, the comp who he kind
of played like same frame with Steve Smith. Maybe that's
the thing is you go, hey, hold up, let's just
see who the veteran guys who've had that have been
successful and let's try and find that, and it feels

(07:32):
like that's what they were hunting for here with Jay Flowers.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Absolutely, And you know the thing about it, did you
all say this? It's kind of a twofer, right bringing
Odell Beckham Junior in. And there are a lot of
people that say that Odell Beckham Junr. Can't play anymore.
He's not what he once was. He he's he's a
shell of the guy that we saw dominate for the
New York Jazz. But here's what I can tell you
based on just looking at the FaceTime interaction between Zay

(07:56):
Flowers and Odell Beckham Junior. Oda Beckham Junior, there's a
lot of power and a lot of influence and if
yous responsibly, he can really help their young guys play
at a high level. I think you were at that
opening when Odell Beckham Junior came to Nike Kims a
rock star man, and you saw the reaction that these
young kids have with him. You saw the reaction that

(08:18):
Jay Flowers had with Odell Beckham Junior when he talked
to him on FaceTime. So if Odell Beckham Junior is
just a good leader in teammate, he's going to not
only help Zay Flowers his game developed. He's gonna help
Rashad Bateman's game develop. So this is an opportunity for
Odell Beckham Junior to be the leader of a unit

(08:38):
that needs leadership because if they if they improve with
the one on ones that they're going to see Lamar
Jackson's gonna have a big year throwing the ball all
over the yard for top money.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I like what they did and they're going to change.
This is just going to look different. This is not
going to look like the Ravens of old and it
might take a few weeks before they kind of find
their footing. But they know, I think to run the
gauntlet in the playoffs in the AFC, they needed more juice,
anymore weapons, and they did that. So speaking of the AFC,
let's get to Buffalo. Buffalo picked twenty five. They trade
up to get Dalton Kincaid, the tight end from Utah.

(09:08):
They got Osiris Torrance. That picked fifty nine, the guard
from Florida. I got a linebacker and really run out
of two Lane and Dorian Williams in the third round.
Justin Shorter, big white out from Florida. In the fifth,
Nick Broker guard Old mess in the seventh and Alex
Austin a corner from Oregon State in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Look, I'm gonna go Osorius Torrance. This is a big
gift for them. Don't really understand. I don't know why
he feeled. I'm assuming like medical or something like that.
But I'm sitting here looking at Osiris Torrance and I'm thinking, Man,
they needed somebody on the interior who had a little
bit of that bad man attitude he has that he
brings the thumb. He's a physical player at the point

(09:47):
of attack. We saw him in that matchup against Jalen
Carter hold his own. I think this is a huge
gift for the Buffalo Bills, and one when we look
back in a few years we may say, man, what
a value.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
For the Buffalo Bills to get a player like this
every where they were.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yeah, he means a good player. You know, he's not
like the most athletic guy. Maybe that's what dingdom, but
he doesn't get beat And to me, when you're a
passing team like they are, and you've got somebody that
can help set a firm pocket inside, that's a valuable,
valuable piece. So I'm with you. I thought Osios Torrens
pick fifty nine. I thought that was great value. I'll

(10:21):
go I'll go low hanging fruit and go to the
first rounder again. With Dalton Kincaid, I loved him. I
thought it was smart to get ahead of the Cowboys
to pick him. One of the nuggets in our research
packet Buck was that Diggs made up twenty eight point
five percent of the Bills reception since twenty twenty. That's
the highest such percentage in the NFL over that span.
They have been And he's a great player, but that

(10:42):
has been a narrow focus with Josh Allen. I think this,
you know, Gabe Davis has been good, but hasn't been
maybe what you hoped he would be. They needed another guy,
and I think this is you know, whether or not
you just view him as a big slot. All I
know is he can uncover, he can catch, and he
can make things happen after the catch. So and he's
really good in the red zone. I know Josh Allen
had some turnovers down there this year, so I thought

(11:03):
this was just a I want to say, a gift.
But I don't think they went into this thinking they
were going to draft Dalton Kincaid. And then all of
a sudden it was like, oh he's here. Oh this
wi't work, Let's go get him.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Yeah, no, no, I think it was I mean kind
of a gift, like you kind of looking around and
you're like, you know what, this guy's might be arranged.
You might be able to get a huge playmaker, because
when you look at it, it wasn't a huge need.
But what you do is you now have an opportunity
to change your identity offensively. Not all the time, but
you can morph into some twelve personnel stuff. You can
force the defense to put deep different personnel on the field.

(11:36):
And we can talk about Dallason Knox, but man, this
dog king k is outstanding at creating separation and catching
the ball. I would expect him to put up big numbers,
monster numbers playing alongside Stefan Diggs.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Yeah, I agree. Carolina Panthers first overall, pick Bryce Young.
They got Jonathan Mingo, the white Out from Old Mess,
Big white Out at pick thirty nine, DJ Johnson dresser
from Oregon. In the third round, Chandler Zavala. Who you
got a chance to see at the East West? Who
is you know somebody that was well thought of around
the league. They got him in a fourth round. I

(12:09):
thought that was good value. Jamie Robbinson, the safety from
Florida State in round number five.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Man, I'm really excited about a couple of picks. Jonathan Mingo,
we can talk about the big physical pass catcher. I
made the point on the post show that when I
was there with Steve Smith, we had Musi Muhammad and
Mousy Muhammad's ability to kind of expand the strike zone
as that big body chain mover. Really have Jake Diloon

(12:36):
take his game up and notes. I think Mingo would
do the same for Bryce Young. Even though Bryce Young
is a much more accurate passer, you just have to
have one of those big bodies that you can lean
on in critical situations. I think he'd be a huge
addition for the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
I feel like nobody catches more strays on this podcast
than Jake diloone. Bucky has has definitely uh has definitely
come after Jake delan with feathered with with like velvet gloves,
but he's still taking some He's taken some body blows
on this podcast over the years.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
I mean, look, man, we're just saying I mean, I
think if you ask Steve Smith whatever, like, he did
a really good job in the road that he was
asked and played at a high level for We went
to a super Bowl with him. But in watching him play,
I also understand like in terms of building the team,
you had to kind of make up for some of
the wayward tosses and so sometimes that knuckleball can get
away from me. And so if Tim Wakefield is on

(13:31):
the mouth, you might have to have a bigger catchers
mint to be able to.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Be able to go get it.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
You can only play the hand your dealt the Good Lord.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
The Good Lord gave him ten to.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Nine off suit. Okay, that's what he had, those of
the cards he had to play. I give Jake a
lot of credit. He got the most out of that
ten nine off suit.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Man. I'm telling you, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Jadler Zavala, who I mentioned briefly. He's a good player
guard at NC State fourth round. I mean, I think
you got a starter. I think he's going to be
a starter in this league for a good number of years.
So I like that value put him in front of
Bryce Young. It's already a good offensive line. I thought that
that was a nice ad to their group. Let's get
to Chicago, Bears. Here a lot of picks to go through.
Buck pick number ten, Darnell Wright, tackle Tennessee, the comeback

(14:16):
pick fifty three Dexter senior, the DT from Florida. They
get Tyreek Stevenson their other second round pick out of Miami,
Zach Pickens from South Carolina, the DT and the third.
In the fourth round, they had a couple picks Roshawn Johnson,
the running back Texas Tyler Scott, the speedy receiver from Cincinnati.
In the fifth round they had two. They go Noah Sewell,

(14:39):
linebacker Oregon and Terrell Smith, a corner from Minnesota. And
the seventh round a couple picks Travis Bell, d tackle
from Kennesas State and Kendall Williamson is safety from Stanford Man.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
A lot of picks to go through.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
And I won't go chalk and talk about one of
the top top picks, but I'll talk a little bit
about Noah Sewell from Oregon DJ. I think in this
defense man he could be one of those guys that
pops in surprises.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Two years ago, a lot of.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
People really love no Soul on the road talked about him,
how fast, how physically was what kind of job he
did for the Ducks last year.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Wasn't the same player on tape.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
If he can get back to being the guy that
we saw a couple of seasons ago in this defense,
the way this defense is structured, man, he could be
one of those fifth round picks that has a lot
of success, a lot of production playing inside.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Yeah, I like your call there. I'm going to go
to the second round and go Tyrek Stevenson. They got
it fifty six. He was in my top fifty pretty
much through the whole process. Toughness, competes. Those are the
two characteristics I think when you look at corners that
are undervalued, underrated. This dude has it and he plays
a little edge to him, so I think he matches.
You always talk about you got to draft a team
for your city, drafted team for your division. To me,

(15:52):
I think he fits. He's a Chicago type fit there.
So I like that one. The value that they got there.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Keep it moving.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Cincinnati Buck Miles Murphy first rounder, ed rusher Clemson, the
speedy corner DJ Turner from Michigan in round two. Jordan
Battle safety from Bama in round three, Charlie Jones, the
wide out from Purdue, and four Chase Brown, the running
back from Illinois, and five Andre Yo Sibosh the wide
out from Princeton. In round six Brad Robbins. They got

(16:22):
themselves a punter from Michigan in the sixth and then
dj Ivy a corner from Miami in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Man a lot of good players to choose from. Let's
go Jordan Battle from Alabama. And the reason why I'm
gonna go Jordan Battle is because they lost both of
their safeties last year, Von Beld and Jesse Bates, and
so Battle's gonna have to come in and have to
really fill the role. He was solid for the Crimson side.
IQ good instincts, awareness, can drop down in the box

(16:47):
and thump a little bit. They need him to play
like an A to one player from jump and so
they gonna need him to step in and be a
key contributor.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
So keep your eye on him.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
I like that one good football players played a lot
of snaps for next and he's going to be ready
to go. He'll learn the playbook really fast. I'll go
Charlie Jones the white out and the fourth out of Purdue.
He led the country buck one hundred and ten, one
hundred and ten catches, the best transferred decision of the
of the year, by the way, going from Iowa to
Purdue went from a place where they struggle with the

(17:17):
forward pass to again going to Purdue where they chuck
it and leads the country and catches.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
He's got big time, big time juice. He was the
guy for me.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Every year there's a guy like this where when you're
doing other players and this guy pops and you're watching
all these other corners, I'm like, dang, Charlie Jones is
running by all these big ten corners. He was somebod
I thought was pretty interesting in the fourth round pick
one thirty one.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
I like that value, yeah, I mean tremendous value.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
And here's the thing. I almost picked Charlie Jones. I
think he's the heir apparent to Tyler Boyd. When they
have to pay Joe Burrow and they have to make
some decisions on t Higgins and Jamar Chase, how much
they pay him, somebody's gonna be the odd man out.
Charlie Jones might be the guy that sneaks into that
number three spot. Not this year, but maybe in twenty
twenty four.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Yeah, good call.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Cleveland did not pick till the third round. They got
big Cedric Tilman, the Tennessee wide out and Siaka Eka
the big DT from Baylor. In the fourth round they
get the mountain of a man Dwan Jones to tackle
from Ohio State, and then they get the edge dresher
Isaiah Maguire from Missouri in the fifth round Ucla quarterback
dtr during Thompson Robinson and Cameron Mitchell corner from Northwestern

(18:23):
and their sixth round pick Luke Whippler center from Ohio State.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
You know, so when I look at this, I am
sitting here, the Cleveland Browns might have hit on the
player who has an opportunity to have the Brock Predy effect.
Not that he ever gets on the field, but DTR
when you look at DTR as numbers and the way
that he played at UCLA is very early similar to
Brock Purdy coming out of Iowa State. I mean, you
took about the record breaking, you talk about the records,

(18:49):
the experience, Just keep an eye on DTR. Look, obviously,
Deshaun Bason is the guy will be the guy for
the foresee of the future. But just keep an eye
on DTR as developmental prospect. It may be surprises not
only in preseason, but if he ever has an opportunity
to play in the regular season.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Yet I like that, I will go Cameron Mitchell, who
I liked value pick towards the bottom there in the
fifth round. And then I'll also go Luke Whipler, center
from Ohio State, even though I was in love with
Luke Whipler as a player. The guys who start at
center Ohio State, they all start in the NFL, whether
you like him or not, they're gonna end up being
good players. They just have you know, they're just ready

(19:25):
to go. They're smart, they're tough. They might not be,
in Whipler's case, the most dominant guy, but he's gonna
find his way in the field at some point time
during his career. And that's a sixth round pick where
you could get a guy who gets on the field,
there's some value. Dallas Cowboys picked twenty six Mazzie Smith,
the DT from Michigan. They go back to Michigan in
the second to get Luke Schoommaker, the tight Endmarvian Overshown,

(19:47):
a fast linebacker from Texas to former safety that's a
third round pick. In the fourth they get Vilami Fajoco
from San Jose State. Fifth round they go a Saint
Richard's tackle North Carolina, a couple six rounders, Eric Scott,
the corner from Southern mess Deuce Vaughan, who we got
a chance to talk a lot about from Case State,
the running back goes to be with his dad who's

(20:07):
on the scouting staff there in Dallas. And the sixth
and then the seventh round Jalen Brooks white out South Carolina.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Let's start at a time with miz Smith. Uh.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I was a little surprised about Mizi Smith being the
pick for the Cowboys, not because they didn't have a need,
but first round I knew he was a fringe first
round talent. But there's something about him when I watched
him on tape that the freak numbers that you see
I didn't consistently see on tape, And maybe it's because

(20:38):
he had that.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
I called it a bad stance.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
He looked like a frog in his stance, So he
just wanted can he fix the stance and allow him
to get some of that initial torque and push interesting prospect,
great physical dimensions and all that. I want to see
if he can turn that loose and get the production
out of it. Now I say this, I've wrong before
because Rashaun Garrett was able to do it. We see

(21:02):
some others come out of the Michigan program. They didn't
have huge numbers, but they've had success.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
We just have to see it.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
I just haven't seen Mazi dominate to the level that
we thought he would with all the freakish stuff that
he brings.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Quick question.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
So you look at that selection with Mazzie smith Scoonmaker,
who is a physical tight end, can play in line,
and then Overshown, who's the linebacker from Texas who can
really really run and actually did a really nice job
as a spy. Am I reading into this? But when
I look at this draft, I thought this was a
draft to combat the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Oh wait, out of a question. You got to be
the team in your division.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
So you got a nose tackle right away to be
able to put somebody right on Kelsey, see if we
can slow him down and prevent him from climbing and
getting to the next level. Got to speed in on
the second levels to be able to stop some of
this stuff, and then the tide in is to protect
the passing game. Absolutely, this is a counter to what
the Philadelphia Eagles were.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Able to do. You're trying to check me them.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Yeah, that's that's why I thought. I really like the
overshow and pick number ninety. Good football player can really
really run, so that'll be a good matchup player for
them when they get in some of those games. Athletic quarterbacks.
And concluding Jalen Hurts, all right, Denver Broncos, not many
picks here. I didn't even put this together at the time.
The draft gets going so fast that sometimes there's stuff
you just gosh, there was a point that was just

(22:17):
sitting out there and you miss it. But Marvin Mems
was their first pick in the second round sixty three.
My comp for Marvin Mims was our own, you know.
So when you look at Emmanuel Sanders and Marvin Mims
and like, hello Emmanuel Sanders, you know all the run
that he had with the Denver Broncos. Didn't even put
that together. Buck obviously new coaching staff, new regime there,

(22:38):
but again he wore that. He wore that uniform. Drew Sanders,
a linebacker from Arkansas, on the third Riley Moss the
corner from Iowa and the third and then they got
safety Jail Skinner the big safety from Boise and the
sixth and Alex Forsyth the center from Oregon in the seventh.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
I'm gonna go Riley Moss Iowa.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
I love that pick. I thought that was a value pick. Man, mean,
I think I think it's a great pick.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
I think the fact that he can really man the
Allen great instincts and awareness. And I go back to
watching him a couple of years ago in the Big
Ten Championship game and DJ I am big on paying
attention to what guys do and warm up in terms
of particularly you remember we used to go to games
and you just sit there.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
You got a chance to buzz by the DB's and
you see the footwork and change the direction. This guy
got the tools.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Now it's just a matter of Kenny hold up because
you get a heavy barager throws his way. But from
a toolbox standpoint, I love his toolbox and everyone is
going to talk about him moving inside the safety in
those things. I just remember seeing Eric Weddell at Utah
and how Eric Weddle was able to go nose to
nose with Calvin Johnson. He obviously was a safety, but

(23:42):
Roley Moss has some special skills that I think would
be a good player for a long time in this league.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Yeah, I liked him a lot. I would I would
have chosen that one. I'll go with Marvin Memmes from
mine just I thought he was a complete receiver. Not
the biggest guy in the world, but excellent rout runners,
good after the catch, he can get over the top
as well. That's a pretty intriguing group that they have
there in Denver. Now we'll see where those targets ended
up going. With a lot of options there for Russell
Wilson and Sean Payton to get the football to Detroit.

(24:09):
Lyons one of the more intriguing drafts Jamiir Gibbs and
Jack Campbell running back in the linebacker in round one,
Sam Laporta the tight end from Iowa, and Brian Branched
the nickel from Bama. Those are their second round picks.
They get Hendon Hooker at quarterback in Tennessee in the third,
Broderick Martin the DT from Western Kentucky. In the third,
Kobe soresdhal tackle from William and Mary was kind of

(24:30):
a late riser, they get him in the fifth, and
then they get one of your tar heels, Antoine Green
the white out in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
There are so many things I like about this draft.
You know, we could talk about it, whether it was
out of order in turn of the sequence where they
got the running back the linebacker to tied end.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
In the dB.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Well, we can't argue is those four players are ballers.
Every one of them are ball I think all four
or what their first five were in your top fifty. Yeah,
all these guys showed up in my top five, and
so I'm I go with Sam Laporter because I think
he's kind of the surprise. We talked about him on path,
but man, if you knew he was gonna go this early,

(25:07):
we probably would have talked about him a little more.
You know, like just a really good player, seam runner,
athletic pass catcher, who's really going to have Jerry Goff
have a lot of success. If you think about how
the Detroit Lions are saiding Jery Goff up, it seems
like they're pulling pages from that old La Ram playbook.
Think about the seam runners that he had when he

(25:28):
had Tyler Higbee and Jerald Everett and those guys when
he played at his best, they have recreated all of
that and any think about Jamar Gibbs coming over, it's
not a coincidence that Jerry Goff is playing really well
based on what they're putting around.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Yeah, and Laporta had an awesome combine. It was productive
there at Iowa and it was tough offense to watch.
He was really kind of the only thing that had gone.
But somebody that's really athletic can really run routes. And
I'm with you to me, I think when you look
at Gibbs, Campbell, laport Of, Brian branch Thos, all four
of those guys are starters.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
You get four starters.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
In a draft, that's a heck of a draft man,
coming off of a nice draft they had the year before,
and that's not even taking into account. Who knows what
you get with Hnton Hooker down the line. Maybe you
found your quarterback of the future in this draft as well.
So I thought they did a great job. Brian branch
should be the one I would just highlight. He's plugging play.
He's a nickel, he's ready to rock and roll. You
can move him around. He's you know, just ultra ultra

(26:20):
instinctive and where they got him. I know he didn't
run as fast as he would have hoped. A forty
fifth pick. They were not forty five players or forty
four players better than him in this draft in my
opinion when it all shook out, so good value there,
good value there for Detroit. Let's stay in the division.
We've talked about this the other day, but I thought

(26:43):
Nebil's Packers had an awesome draft. So Lucas van Ness
from Iowa edge rusher and the first, they come back
with two to two musk Grave the tight end from
Oregon State and Jayden Reid the wide out from Michigan State.
They get another tight end of the third and Tucker Craft.
They get a inside outside defensive lineman Kolby Wooden from Auburn.
In the fourth and the fifth, they had a couple

(27:04):
of picks. Sean Clifford maybe the most surprising quarterback from
Penn State, followed by Dontavian Wicks from Virginia who was
coming off of better twenty one than twenty two. Carl
Brooks big Dt from Bowling Green. In the six Anders Carlson.
They get a kicker from Auburn in the sixth and
then they had four to seventh round picks, which were
Carrington Valentine, a corner from Kentucky, Low Nichols, a running

(27:26):
back from Central Michigan, Anthony Johnson, a safety from Iowa State,
and Grant dubo Is a wide out from Charlotte. So
an enormous, enormous draft class.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
But I thought this was.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
One of the ones buck where you could say there's
quality and quantity here with what the Packers did.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Yeah, quality and quantity. So I'm gonna talk about both
tide ends. I'm gonna take a two for one. Luke
musk Rave and Tucker Craft coming in together. DJ we're
now talking about the Jordan Love eraic kicking off in
earnest and the easiest thing that you can do to
help you put someone in the middle that can control

(28:04):
like they can work in the middle of the field.
And so now with two tight ends they can go
twelve personnel, they can use the running game with AJ
Dillon and Aaron Jones, you.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Have one on one on the outside.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
This to me is the Green Bay Packers trying to
set Jordan Love up for success by recreating a ball
control offense. Now the offense that we saw for years
under Aaron Rodgers, this is more of a deliberate let's
take that time.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Let's methodically work the ball down.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
The field with high percentage passes that should be right
into willhouse.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
Of Jordan Love. And I agree with you. I think
you give you some easy completions.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I think the guy i'll highlight does the same thing
with Jayden Reid, who can be that quick little slot.
He's gonna be your quick hitter guy. Think about that offense,
how they have so many of those built ins, right,
so if you got you know, you get a cushion,
you got a run call, you can just smoke it
out to the wide out and let them go. I
think Jayden Reid is going to give you some yards
after the catch with that stuff. I also think last
year you got two real vertical receivers in that draft,

(28:59):
and this year you get some. But he'll give you
some horizontal stuff, you know, cross shallow crossers, just bubbles,
quick hitters. I think he's going to be able to
do a lot of the work underneath, while the flyers
you got last year can get over the top and
down the field. So they're building a good roster there
in Green Bay. The Houston Texans, the two ones Stroud
they trade up for Anderson, the edge rusher from Alabama.

(29:20):
They come back with you Scruggs, the center from Penn State,
and the second Tank Dell, the wide out from Houston,
and the third Dylan Horton and the fourth edge rusher
from TCU, Henry toe to Oh the linebacker from Bama
in the fifth, Jared Patterson, the center from Notre Dame
in the sixth, followed by Xavier Hutchinson, another sixth round pick.
He's a wide out from Iowa State. And then Brandon Hill,

(29:41):
fast safety from Pittsburgh in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Who so many good things that we can go and
talk about. DJ, I think you had talked about it,
But how about de Will Anderson trade, I mean just
trading up and get them, I mean just making a
move you had talked.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
About in you mock draft lead up to it. But
let's not mess around.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Look, the people matter more than what they do, and
I think getting the right people to kick off the
Jamiica Ryan's tenure is important. And Will Anderson, you get
a high character player, a very productive player, a player
that understands how to do it the right way, and
so as you're trying to establish like the standards and

(30:24):
expectations in Houston. Man, what a better player to bring
in than Will Anderson. He knows how to do it.
He played on the Nick Saban but was a model citizen,
did all the right stuff.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Man.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
I think what will Will Anderson can do for the Texans,
what Bryce Young is going to do for the Carolina
Panthers in terms of just setting the tone and setting
the table for Hey, this is.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
How we're gonna go about doing our business.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
We're gonna win games, but we're gonna do it in
this process oriented fashion that's gonna lead you to significant
success down theline.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
I thought it was fun draft for them, and I'll
highlight Tank Dell in the third who just roll ultra
ultra fast. They couldn't cover them at the Senior Bowl.
I stats are ridiculous obviously in that Houston offense led
the country with thirteen hundred and ninety eight yards and
seventeen touchdowns. But little undersized guy who's going to compliment
some of the other pieces that they have. I just
think he could be like a He could have a

(31:16):
sneaky good year with some big plays for CJ.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Stroud. C J.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Stroud loves to throw the deep ball over the top.
This guy can go get it. So I like to
pick there with Tank Dell and again just a fun
draft for them, Indy, a lot of picks to go
through here, Buck and this one will theme this draft
a little bit. And I sent Ballard a text afterwards
and just said this was gosh. Has anybody ever added
this much athleticism in one draft? That's I'll pose you

(31:40):
that question as I read off these names. Anthony Richarson,
quarterback from Florida at four, Julius Brent's Kansas State corner
in the second, Josh downs, You're North Carolina wide out.
In the third, they had a couple of fours. Blake
Freeland from BYU the tackle and Addi Adibare the DT
slash edge rusher from Northwestern, Darius Rush the corner from
South Carolina, Daniel Scott the safety from cal Will Mallory

(32:03):
a tight end from Miami, Evan Hull the running back
from Northwestern, Titus Leo Fun edge rusher from Wagner. In
the sixth, Jalen Jones corner from Texas, A and M
and then Jake Whitt, the workout warrior from Northern Michigan.
I mean, buck, if you go through then you know
I'm not going to read off all the numbers, but
just off the top of my head. Anthony Richson ran

(32:25):
the mid four fourds as a quarterback. Julius Brent's broad
jumped over eleven feet. Blake Freeland had unbelievable workout. The
tight end or the tackle from byu Atabarre had one
of the best workouts you've ever seen from a defensive lineman.
He ran in the four fours. Darius Rush ran in
the four threes. Daniel Scott, the safety from cal had
a phenomenal workout. You go all the way down to

(32:45):
the bottom. Jake Witt was literally drafted. He ran a
four eight nine to forty at three hundred and two pounds.
Was just kind of a workout guy raw, But I
don't recall ever seeing a draft where you had so
many people with crazy athleticism added to a team.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
DJ you want a fast team because the fast team
allows you to produce explosive plays on offense and create
turnovers own defense. After watching them slog through the AFC
South a year ago. Chris Ballads intent on rebuilding the
team and rebuilding them with more athletic playmakers. Why they
went and got Anthony Richardson to me the guy to

(33:22):
highlight to his Blake Freeland. We talked about this offense
and line has to be better. And even though he's
a fourth round pick, they have to look turnover every
They can leave no stone unturned when it comes to
making sure that they're protecting Anthony Richardson and allowing Jonathan
Taylor to run the football. So we'll see if he

(33:42):
can jump into a big, a big role, if he
can carve out a roll for himself as a forefront
pick in the league.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yeah, and I'll go quickly with Josh Downs. You're the
white out from UNC. Who's going to compliment the two
big guys. You've got Pierson Pittman, and now all of
a sudden, you throw Josh Downs in the slot. Let
him go to work. So I like that fit there.
That is a very athletic draft class. Jacksonville Cheese. They
got a ton of guys too, Buck a lot of
late picks. Anton Harrison first rounder at picked twenty seven,
come back with Brenton Strange, a tight end from Penn

(34:11):
State in the second and the third round, Tank Bigsby,
fun running back from Auburn. In the fourth, they had
two players, Ventre Miller linebacker Florida, Tyler Lacy, a DN
from Oklahoma State. In the fifth round, Yasira Abdullah, linebacker
from Louisville, and Antonio Johnson is safety from A and M.
In the sixth they had three Parker Washington wide out
Penn State, Christian Braswell corner from Rutgers, Eric Hollette the

(34:33):
second safety from Pittsburgh. In the seventh round, three picks
Cooper Hodges from app State as a guard, Raymond vajask
a DT from North Carolina. Go North Carolina. You guys
had a sneaky number of guys get picked. And then
the seventh round the last one with Derek Parrish kind
of a special team demon Ed Rusher fullback from Houston.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Let's go Tang Bigsby in the third round running back.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
The reason why is because Doug Peterson and trying to
recreate what he had in for the If you needed
to add a big back to the backfield to take
some of the pressure off Travis Itzien and Jamichael Hasty
Snoop Connor was there last year to do it. Maybe
they want a little more physical presence. So that's where
taking Bisbee will come into play. Physicality, toughness, grinded out,

(35:16):
hard nose, mentality works will gives them something different than
they've had in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
I like it now.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
He was literally in my notes I wrote fun player,
like he's a fun player to watch. I like that
that to fit there. I'll go the guy picked right
ahead of him, Brenton Strange, a tight end who's got
some physicality to him. So a nice compliment to Evan
Ingram there. He can do a little bit more the
dirty work, and Evan Ingram is going to be, you know,
probably a little bit more involved. In the past game
k c all right, after some of these teams had

(35:43):
a million picks. Now we get to a team that
didn't have a boatload. They went fau Felix and a
dk Uza. I'm on the edge rusher from KSE State
in the first, Rashid Rice the wide out from s
m U. In the second, jan Ye Morris tackle Oklahoma,
and the third Shamari Connor Connor the corner slash nickel
from v Tech. In the fourth, BJ Thompson ed Rusher,

(36:04):
Stephen F.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Austin.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
In the fifth, uh KeAndre Coborn, the DT from Texas
and the sixth the Nick Jones corner from Ball State.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
In seventh, let's go Riche Rice from SMU six to
one children and four pounds, someone.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
That can step right into their rotation.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
And really, man, when you're the Chiefs, you're kind of
drafting out of a luxury because they won last year
with so many young guys playing major roles, and so
now you throw Rice into a wide receiver room that
already has Kadeis Tony who kind of counts as its.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Own Hid and pick. You need mvs to continue to
be aware.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
But there's a way for him to get on the
field with Scott Moore than those guys playing.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
So right now you're talking about maybe the.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Number four, but a very important fourth wide receiver because
remember the role that Juju Smith Schuster played play. He
was kind of like the underrated chain mover that made
it happen when they needed it. At some point they're
gonna have to find someone who can do that. Rice
might be the best candidate number lot, but.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
You ever been in New York where they have like
Canal Street where you can go get all the knockoff
like rolex es and purses and all that stuff. Yeah,
this is what I was thinking of when I was
looking at their draft. I was like, okay, Frank Clark
was kind of expensive, So you know what, We'll go
draft Felix and a dk Zama who's a lot like him.
It's going to cost us a lot less in the draft.

(37:25):
Juju Smith Schuster goes on, gets some money in free agency. Oh,
you just mentioned it. Rice is a nice replacement for him.
Similar type players, strong physical, tough guys. Orlando Brown. We're
gonna let him walk. Orlando Brown, the tackle from Oklahoma. Well,
let's just go down to Canal Street. Give us another
Oklahoma tackle. We'll go get Janya Morris and throw him
into the mix. It's like, I think that there's something

(37:47):
to that. We referenced it earlier, but if you study
the guys that have been successful in you're building, it
makes it easier to say, Okay, this is what they had.
This is like the menu. Now, scouts, we got to
go find Let's go find Juju in the drafts. Go
find Frank Clark in the draft, and you go get
the cheaper knockoff.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Yeah, you get a knockout, because that's what's saying that,
particularly as you're paying the quarterback significant money. Yeah, you
gotta cut some corners a little bit, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
Vegas Tyree Wilson in the first ed rusher Texas tech,
Michael Meyer, a tight end from Notre Dame in the second.
The third round, they had a couple guys Byron Young
DT from Bama, Trey Tucker White out from Cincinnati. In
the fourth round, two picks Ja Cory and Bennett the
corner from Maryland, Aidan O'Connell, the quarterback from Purdue in
the fifth round, Christopher Smith, the safety from Georgia. In

(38:34):
the sixth Amari Bernie, linebacker Florida, and in the seventh
the DT from Arizona State nessa Jade SILVERA.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Let's sord at the top. Let's go with Tyree Wilson.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
And the reason why I like the Tyree Wilson pick
is because there are some comparisons between him and Chandler Jones.
When now you put him in the same room with
Chandler Jones and Max Crosby.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
What we're gonna find out really quickly.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
Is how much does he love because if you don't
play hard, you don't exhibit the kind of energy and
effort that those guys do. Didn't call you out, and
so we could see Tyre Wilson take his game up
a notch quickly due to the peer pressure that's involved
in that building.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
I love to pick.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
I like to fit because it's easier pressure quarterback from
front to back as opposed to having all your resources
in the back. Now that you have some pass rushers,
should be easy for anybody to cover in the back end.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
YEP, I like that one. I'll just throw a quick
shot here with nessa jade silver. Their last pick, Arizona
State DT, seventh round. You're looking for some traits. That
dude's got some quickness, he can get up the field.
So I thought they found a DT with with some
traits that's intriguing player there in the seventh all right,
the Chargers. They took Quentin Johnson, the wide out from TCU,
in one, Tuley Twey Polo two, the linebacker edge rusher

(39:48):
from USC took him in the second, Deayon Henley, the
linebacker from Wazoo, and the third Darius Davis to be
a big time returner from TCU in the fourth, Jordan McFadden,
the tackle slash guard from Clemson in the fifth, Scott
matt Lock, the DT from Boise in the sixth, and
Max Duggan. They go back to TCU for their third
player of the quarterback in the seventh round.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Quin Johnson has one for me, just another tall, big
wide receiver. You thought that maybe there would be a
little contrast between Keenan Allen and Mike Williams and whoever
else they bring in, but they kind of bring in
someone that is more like them. He has more speed
and more juice than them, but still he's in that family.
So just trying to see how all that works out
for Justin Harper's gonna be interesting for me.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
So I've got that one as a good one, as
intriguing one. We'll see how that pans out. And then
I would just add Matt Locke from Boise. I thought
that was a great value. I would have considered him
in the third round. I thought he's a good player,
as little underrated there.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
In the sixth the.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
Rams lots of picks here, Bucks Steve Avila in the
second guard from TCU, Byron Young ed rusher from Tennessee
in the third, Kobe Turner, undersized DT from Wake in
the third, Stetson Bennett, Georgia QB in the fourth, Nick Hampton,
the app State linebacker, and the fifth, Warren mcclennon tackle
from Georgia in the fifth, Davis Allen, the tight end
from Clemson in the fifth, A lot of fifth round picks.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Pookin the coua wide out BYU.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Fifth and the sixth round they had three players, Trevius Hodges,
Tomlinson corner from TCU, oh Shawn Matthis linebacker Nebraska, Zach
Evans running back old Miss in the seventh, Ethan Evans punter, wingate,
Jason Taylor, the second safety from Oklahoma State, and de
Swan Johnson, the DT from Toledo.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
A lot of guys. You had a lot of guys,
so I mean this quick.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
I'm intrigued by Sesson Bennett, I'm intrigued Bystess and Bennet
being winner guy and c NF dead translations to him
being able to carve out a career. We should have
known that the Rams would be a viible candidate Bible
spot for him, based on their interactions with Baker Mayfield says,
and Bennett comes over as a two time national champion.
Got some sweat, I had some athleticism. This see if
you can make his name known in the league.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
Yeah, poking nicoua from me value pick wide out if
he can stay healthy from BYU in the fifth, they
might have something. The Dolphins second rounder Camp Smith. They
go Devin ah Chain, the fast running back from A
and M. And the third Elijah Higgins, a tight end
from Stanford who is a tweener, and then Ryan Hayes,
a tackle from Michigan, the seventh.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
Man. This is it's tough. I will go with Let's
go camp Smith.

Speaker 4 (42:18):
Let's go to camp just in terms of being able
to step into this defense and many road I mean,
you just think about how everyone is going to attack him.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
You can't go with X man. Uh, you can't go
with jam and Ramseys. So Camp Smith, guess what you're up.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
So how he holds up will ultimately determined the fate
of their defense. Cam Smith is a good player. We'll
see if you can hold up his end of the deal.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna go a change the fast running back
from A and M. Just more speed to their track team.
Offense Minnesota Jordan Addison in the first the white out
SC go back to SC from a Kay Blackman a
corner in the In the third and the fourth round,
Jay Ward, a dB from LSU can move him around.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
Jacquelin Roy the DT from LSU and the fifth, Jaron Hall,
the quarterback from BYU and the fifth, and then Dwayne
McBride are running back from you a B in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
I feel like I have talked a lot about Jodan Netison,
so I'm talking with someone differ. I'm talking about Dwayne McBride,
seventh round pick. Look man who knows this cornfip whether
he's gonna make the team, but he will give them
a banker, someone that can run, someone that has vision
and by the control. We don't know what's going to
happen with Dalvin Cook, but if it stays as is,
this is a guy that can come and maybe be

(43:28):
that vulture guy that takes away those touchdowns after you
do all the work getting it inside the five.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
Yeah, no doubt. That's a fun one. Jared Hall, I
thought value fifth round quarterback. I think he has some
starter upside, some traits that you can work with. There
a little bit older but smart, good athlete, strong arm
to me. The fifth round pick, I thought that was
good value. Patriots, Christian Zales corner from Oregon. They trade
back get him at seventeen, Big key On white edge
rusher from Georgia Tech at forty six in the second

(43:56):
Marte Mapu've talked a lot about him over the course
of the spring linebacker Sachs State.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
And the third.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Fourth round they had a bunch here Jake Andrews center
from Troy, Chad Ryland kicker from Maryland City, south Guard
from Eastern Michigan, and the fifth Antonio Maffi guard from UCLA.
In the sixth they had a boatload of picks Kaishawn
Bhute white out, Lsu, Bryce Bearinger punter Michigan State, the
Mario Douglas Douglas white out, Liberty a mere Speed corner

(44:22):
Michigan State, and then the seventh Isaiah Bolden corner, Jackson State.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
Man.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
So I'm sitting here and I'm looking at this even
I like the draft, particularly at the top unabashed kea
white fan from Georgia Tech.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
I think the verse Tilly serves and will what they
want to do. Josh U J.

Speaker 1 (44:37):
Matthew Judon the way they roll guys in. He's gonna
be a versatile player inside and outside. The Patriots to
find a way to unlock and tap him fully to
all those talents. I mean, he has everything that you
look for, just kind of happened to fall out the
first round.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Yeah, I like that one. I've mentioned Mapu a bunch
how much I loved him, literally one my favorite players
study in the whole draft. I love that pick. Patriots
will know what to do with him. City Salad guard
from Eastern Michigan on the fourth. I think he'll be
a starter in the NFL, So that's a value pick.

Speaker 3 (45:06):
Saints.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
They took Brian Percy from Clemson and the first. They
came back with foski Ed drusher from Notre Dame there
in the second, Kendrey Miller running back TCU, and the
third Nick Saldiverari. They list him as a guard, he's
played some tackle from Old Dominion. J Hayner quarterback Fresno
State in the fourth, Jordan Howden safety from Minnesota in
the fifth, and at Perry White out Wake Forest in

(45:28):
the sixth.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
M let's go Kendrey Miller from CCU and the reason
why I want to go there where is because there's
so many things that Alma Kamara does inside and outside
the backfield. But sometimes I feel like they missed that
thump that they used to have when they've been at
their bid so well. Kendre Miller would give them that
thump as a hard nose between the tackles. Runner, you
add him with Alvakamar and whether they can do in

(45:50):
the passing game, Jack Carl will have a lot of
fun because if he doesn't like it down the field,
he always dropped it down and watched those guys due
to work.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
Yep, that's a fun one hainter to me. I'll stay
with the quarterback thing again. Some intriguing guys fourth round
take a shot.

Speaker 3 (46:06):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (46:06):
He's Fresno State guy. Derek Carr is a Fresno State guy.
I think they'll have a good relationship, good place to
him to continue to learn and develop. The Giants press
corner Deontay Banks and the first John Michael Schmidt's the
center from Minnesota. In the second, Jalen Hyatt, a flyer
at wide out. In the third, Eric Gray, running back
from Oklahoma. On the fifth, Trey Hawkins, a corner from

(46:27):
Odu in the sixth. Couple seventh rounders Jordan Riley d
tackle Oregon and Jervarius Own safety Houston.

Speaker 1 (46:36):
Let's go with Jalen Hyatt. Given Danny Dimes some speed
speed speed on the perimeter. You dig into Jalen Hyatt's background.
He has always been a prolific point scorer, puts the
ball in the pay from anywhere on the field. You
just think about this speed. This is FoSTeS, even though
it's one hundred and seventy six in terms of the frame,
you have to account for it. If not Man, he

(46:58):
has too many videos of him running past DB's on tape.
He's going to be a sneaky, sneaky playmaker for the Giants.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
Yep, I like it.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
And Deontay Banks and the first I think his ability
to play Man is going to give them some options
with a very creative defensive play caller there and Wink
Martin Dill so I like that fit.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
Jets.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
Will McDonald pick fifteen Edgeresher Iowa State, Joe Tipman the
center from Wisconsin. In the second, Carter Warren tackle Pitt
in the fourth. They go back to Pitt for Israel
aban Aconda the running back. They got him actually in
the fifth round, as Zaire Barnes, the linebacker Western Michigan
in the sixth, Jerrick Bernard Converse corner from LSU in

(47:39):
the sixth, and then Zach Kons, a big tight end
from Old Dominion in the seventh.

Speaker 3 (47:44):
Let's go with Joe Tipman, senator from Wisconsin.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
We know that he would quickly become Aaron Rodgers's best friend,
his ability controlled attack. There's been a lot of buzz
about him heading into the draft, and so to see
him get with the team that we thought was a
bit of his butt's let's go.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
I think it works out, yep.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
I thought there was a chance they might trade back
and take him in the first round. So to get
him there at forty three good fit. I'll go with
the running back. I'mnaconda, who is a fun player to watch.
Twenty rushing touchdowns, so tons of production. You look at
their running back room with Breese hall Is on of
a Knight, Michael Carter and this dude, that's one of
the best running back rooms in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
So I like the group.

Speaker 2 (48:21):
They have their Eagles first round two guys Jalen Carter
and Nolan Smith from Georgia, Tyler Stein the guard from Bama,
and the third Sidney Brown, the safety from Illinois and
the third Keeley Ringo, the corner from Georgia and the
fourth Tanner McKee the quarterback from Stanford in the sixth,
and Moro Ojomo the DT from Texas in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
Let's go with Sidney Brown for me, Illinois turnover maker,
physical player, super athletic. You heard people throw out these wild,
lofty expectations about him being maybe the next Brian Dawkins.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
I won't put that, but I do think he's gonna
be a key piece to their defense. They need it.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
When you lose Chelsea, go to Johnson, you need someone
that could come in there and do a few different things.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
Sedney Brown has that versatility in his game.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
YEP, I'm with you on that one. I would also
throw into the mix Nolan Smith. I think it's a
great fit there. I think he's gonna be a great player,
But I think, you know, people need to temper what's
gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
Year one.

Speaker 2 (49:16):
He's gonna be their fourth end. When you have Sweat
and you have Hassan Reddick and you've got Brandon Graham.
He's gonna be the fourth guy, so he'll be the
fastball they roll through there, and I think he'll be
he'll be good in that role. But you know, in
terms of big statistical year, it's going to be hard
just because the number of guys they got Pittsburgh. Broderick
Jones is the tackle from Georgia in the first. They
get Joey Porter junior from Penn State, obviously a familiar

(49:38):
name there. In the second, Keanu Benton DT from Wisconsin.
Then the second as well. Darnell Washington was there. In
the third at tackle or the tight end from Georgia.
Nick Herbig, whose brother Nate Herbig is on the team
as well, so family affair. He's the fourth round pick
linebacker Wisconsin. And then they get the big corner, Corey
Trice junior from purdueing the seventh, and Spencer Anderson, a
guard from Maryland in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
Oh Man, you just saw about so many good players
that they have. I love him for to front that
offense line with Roger Jones. Kind of savvy move, even
though it didn't turn out to be who they just wanted.
You just want to make sure you get up in
range get the player that you want. Broder Jones was
identified plays to their.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
Ability to really rely and love on the athleticism.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
If they can get this athleticism polished up with some
great technique man who knows what you have in that position,
because he certainly has all pro potential based.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
On just a flash that you've seen at times. Yep.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
And then I would add Keanu Benton to me, a
good football player, great value where they got him there
in the second pick forty nine. He's excellent against the run.
I think he's got more upset against the past than
people give him credit for. Niners did not pick to
the third. Three third round picks Jay your Brown safety
Penn State, the best kicker, Jake Moody from Michigan, Cameron
law Too tight end Bama. In the fifth round, a

(50:55):
couple of guys Daryl Ludter, junior athletic corner from South Alabama,
Robert Beale explosive addresher from Georgia, and the sixth the
Winners linebacker TCU. And then three seventh round picks Braydon
Willison tight end from Oklahoma, Ronnie Bell the white out
for Michigan, and Jalen Graham linebacker Perdue.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
Jake mood is my favorite pick because Jake Moody's a
point score And I know everyone's up at arms when
people take kickers off the board early, but you never
need a kicker until you need a kicker. And you
talked about the guys being nails, and not only that,
DJ when you dig into his background throughout his career
at Michigan two hundred and twenty two of his three
hundred plus kickoffs, we're touchbacks and so you just think

(51:36):
about the boom, the leg being able to put the
ball where he wants it and how he wants it.
That's the reason why you take a kicker.

Speaker 2 (51:42):
Draft yep Man, I'll go gy R Brown, the safety
that they took with their first pick in the third round.
He's the only FBS player with ten interceptions over the
last two seasons, Ballhawk, and they've they've found what happens
when you take a safety that maybe didn't run quite
as fast, but who's always right. He reminds me Whu funga.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
Who reminds me of exactly of a funk. When I
saw it, when I looked at him, I wrote, my
nose me plays like hold on, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
So yeah, I don't care if you want I want
you to play fast. I don't care if you are fast.
He plays fast Seattle with the spoon the corner from
Illinois at JSN, the white Out from Ohio State in
the first Derek Hall edge rusher from Auburn and the
second Zach Sharpenay running back from UCLA. In the second
couple fours, Anthony Bradford guard from LSU, Cameron Young DT
from Mississippi State, and the fifth two players Mike Morris

(52:28):
DAN from Michigan, another Michigan player at with Timmy the center,
and the sixth Jerck Reid, the second safety from New Mexico,
and then Kenny McIntosh the running back from Georgia.

Speaker 3 (52:38):
So many good things. I like the fact that they
doubled up at running back. We talked about it.

Speaker 1 (52:42):
Uh, it would be interesting to see how they used
a running back rotation. Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker. One
is big and physical, the other one is like physical,
but does it in a different fashion to throw out
multiple backs. To me, just says that a Pete Carroll
is very comfortable. We can either run it down your
throat or with Jackson Smith in jigbut and these other guys,

(53:04):
we could throw it over your hit and so the
Seahawks offense would be much more difficult to defend this season.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
And I'll say Derek Hall because we talk about him
as a rusher. Put that to the side. He can
set the edge, which you have to do when you
play against the forty nine ers twice a year. So
that's interesting. One Tampa Elijah Kant se dt from Pitt
in the first, Cody Mauk the five position flex offensive
line from North Kota State in the second, yah Ya
Diabi ed dresser from Louisville, and the third Servasier Dennis

(53:30):
linebacker Pitt in the fifth, Payne Durham tight end Purdue
in the fifth. In the sixth round, they had three
picks Josh Haynes dB Kansas State, Trey Palmer wide receiver
in Nebraska, and Jose Ramirez Eastern Michigan edge presser.

Speaker 1 (53:42):
I mean, how about hose Ra Meres. Let's just take
him because he's just so fun to watch.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
You know.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
Let's just talk about what he was able to do
to production, he was able to put down and just
maybe maybe they can find like that late round pass
Rushi that helps him as a key contributor.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
So Ramier is a very interesting pick for the Bucks. Yeah,
twelve sacks. I loved him.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
I'm gonna say mau because they just they've had success
with players a little bit outside the power five that
are that are nasty demeanor guys, and I think he
fits there. Two more teams left here, Tennessee Peter Scronsky
in the first, they come back trade up for Will Levis,
the quarterback from Kentucky. In the second, I J. Spears
running back to lane, and the third Josh Wiley, tight
end from Cincinnati in the fifth, Jalen Duncan another tackle

(54:25):
for Maryland in the sixth, and Colton McDowell wide out
Tennessee Martin in the seventh.

Speaker 1 (54:29):
Well, I mean, look, the guy everyone's gonna talk about
his Will Levis. Levi's going to Tennessee. Say what you
want about whether we thought he was the first round
pick or a second round pick. And now he goes
to a place where you will have a legitimate opportunity
to play.

Speaker 3 (54:41):
But he may have that opportunity in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
For him, that'd be a perfect scenario to be able
to go to Tennessee kind of learn how it operates,
learn how to function within a system that's built around
the running back.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
All those things could serve Will lev As will down
the line.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
Yeah, and then I'll say TAIJ. Spears, So I'm rooting
for fell down the board a little bit because of
his knee. He goes eighty first overall if healthy. He's
a fun player, dynamic running back. Last team Washington Commander's
Forbes corner from Mississippi State. In the first jar Tavius
Martin Nickel from Illinois and the second Ricky Stromberg, a
center from Arkansas. On the third and the fourth round,

(55:19):
Brandon Daniels guard from Utah, kJ Henry ed rusher from Clemson,
and the fifth Chris Rodriguez running back from Kentucky in
the sixth and Andre Jones junior seventh round d N Louisiana.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Really surprised by the Washington Commander.

Speaker 1 (55:32):
So I'm gonna go with Ricky Stromberg and Braiden Daniels
the two picks that you gotta watch.

Speaker 3 (55:37):
This is a team that.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
Needed to address the offensive line. They finally get to
it in the third round with the center, then follow
it up with the guard. These guys have to play,
and they gotta play well because that was the biggest
that was the biggest liability for this offense, their inability
to be able to control the Lona Scrimmers.

Speaker 3 (55:53):
So let's see if those young guys can help them
get that done.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
I'll go kJ Henry ed Rusher from Clemson. They did
not pick up the fifth year option on Chase Young.
They got a decision to make here soon a Montes
sweat in terms of what his future looks like there,
So having some depth at that position I think was good.
I like that value. Buck, you're late for your meeting,
get out of here. That was a fun one to
hope everybody has enjoyed it. It's been a great draft process.
We appreciate you guys hanging with us throughout this entire

(56:18):
run up to the draft, but we will continue to
have you covered right here on Move the sticks.
