Speaker 1 (00:00):
And now move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
What's up, everybody, welcome to move the Sticks, DJ, Bucky
and Baldy back on a Monday, Baldi before we get
to NFL Action, which we got a lot of stuff
to break down here. Yeah, well college action and Saturday
huh yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
I did some double dip and I did the Texas
OU game. I got to offer a couple of weeks
ago and I'm like, I don't. I had to. I said,
I don't care about Sunday. I just want to get
to Dallas and being a cowboy being down there in
that atmosphere, it's best.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Week of the year.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
But honestly, I mean, Archie Manning played great, best game
he's played so far, as you know as a young player.
But what the atmosphere is unreal, the players, the level
talking to uh you know Sark before the game, like
there's there's just there's just nothing like that atmosphere. Half
the Bowl is you know, forty five thousand is Texas,
forty five thousands of Oklahoma and they can't be more enthusiastic.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
So it was it was just great to be a
part of it.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Well, it has to be amazing to watch Texas bounced
back from a disappointing low. We we lost, we poured
dirt on them, and then they come back and knock
off a top ten team.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
And it's unbelievable, Buck, because I mean, we're gonna get
to this because it's the same thing on Sunny. But
it comes down to coaching, like they they coached those
kids up at Texas, Like they got destroyed by Florida
the week before.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
The offensive line was awful.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
They couldn't bet any better against a really good defensive
front in Oklahoma yesterday. And the running back when Trevy
and Wisner mat kids, I don't know, he's player, just
looks like a player, man.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
Yeah, they got some dudes.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
By the way, tomorrow's show, ut Rhett is going to
come in hot after the Who's Just Go Oregon?

Speaker 3 (01:43):
No doubt, Baldy.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I was wearing Oregon gloves on the episode last week
and making a lot of him, I mean on there.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
With you know, with uh, you know ESPN, like thinking
like this thing is going.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
To be a lot of fun victory lap, a lot
of victory laps before that game because f Stone cold
killer Signetti, give you met him, or know him at all.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I don't know him, but I can't wait to like
find out more.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Like I'm just learning, you know, I don't know much
about his history, but I'm obviously what he's doing is amazing.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
I think.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
I don't know if you guys got a chance to
watch it, but I would say it was one of
the best coaching jobs I've seen. In fact, after the
game had the handshake, Dan Lanning said, many freaking coach.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Well, like, I mean, it was, it was outstanding.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
And to think about the quarterback that Cale didn't want
him and Dooze who bounced around the end of in
Indiana and he played really well. He had a big
pick six that almost cost him but came right back.
And look, man, I hate it because we have to
hear about it from Rep. But they are I mean,
they're a really good football team. They are from top
to bottom. Well, coach got really good players to buy in.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Is great.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
And my man, who was bodacious, he backs it up
to do it at.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
School, because it happens at North Carolina, happens to Duke,
it happens in Kentucky. These basketball schools can never get
the football thing figured out.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
And he's doing it at a school that literally is.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Just all basketball, like they like it was an afterthought,
you know, playing football and Bloomington.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
No, he's got a rolling and I got to believe
that he made himself a lot of money. Is there
anything better if you're his agent to have him win
against Oregon vault to number three in the country the
same weekend that Penn State fires their head coach. He's
getting a lot of money, whether it's from Indiana, Penn State.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
He's got his pick, whatever job he wants right now,
he's going to have his pick.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yep, he's gonna make some cash. R Let's get to
the NFL. Yeah, let's start Sunday night Detroit. Casey, I
was flying back, so I watched this this morning. But Baldy,
I'll tu up on that one. First, go wherever the
heck you want to go on that one.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
I took it. I took a lot of notes on
this game. Mahomes is unreal.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
I mean, we can't stop raving about his ability to
see the whole field, to make plays that aren't there,
and then they have I would love to see Andy
Reid's playbook because it's got to be the most expansive
thing ever, like he has so many just one off plays.
They start the third quarter, they run this screen. I

(04:00):
hadn't seen him run before the Braven Smith like he
starts the first the third quarter, they go right down
the field score to get a drive starter two minute drill.
At the end of the first half, right down the field,
they're down, you know, ten to six. Take the lead,
get the ball. In the third quarter, go right down
the field. Score its goes from thirteen six to twenty
to ten.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Like that.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
They never surrendered it. I'm not sure how this happens.
They didn't have a penalty in the game.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Yeah, you know, like the first time in a long time.
But we've seen that.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
But you know, I mean penalties.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
That offensive line has been committing and always putting the
homes in the offense, and they didn't do any of that.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Detroit. You know, the offense is still good.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
They still do a lot of nice things, but they're
lining up defensively right now, DJ, go back and look
at your notes. Rocter Si meet Robertson and authored morlet.
That's the three corners that Kansas City has.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Not a lot of size there, not size.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
They're just bodies, you know, and so that's what they're
stuck with right now. And they just they just torched
him in that game. And the other thing I wanted
to say was, Travis Kelsey looks like he's all the
way back, like all the routes that were used to
seeing him run the burst, you know, two defenders ready
to tackle him right here, the spin away from him,

(05:15):
just to feel, you know, in zone coverage like.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
He's he's back.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
And you said it two weeks ago, like when Xavier
Worthy went out there. The offense changed three weeks in
a row. Right now, this thing is lighting up.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
You know what.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
I found it interesting in that game, coming off the
heels of watching it up close and personal on Monday
Night one. Patrick Mahomes is the altar in Maestro in
terms of controlling everything the way to heal, pick and
shoes when he uses his legs to buy time or
to run. But whenever the CANSI the Chiefs backs are
against the wall, it's the same formula fifteen is gonna
find eighty seven. Eighty seven had a turnback the clock game.

(05:51):
Six catches led the team. Juju Smith Schuster was right there.
Pat Mahomes is going to go to the guys that
he relies on the most, and then he still found
a way to keep Hollywood brown zab You're worthy into it.
But he's going to go to his most trusted weapons
and that works for the Kansa City Chiefs. And I say,
this man, they can lose a bunch of games, but

(06:13):
no one wants him to get into the postseason tournament.
Because they get into the tournament, they know how to
win it because Pat Mahomes is going to do whatever
it takes to put his team in a position to
be there at the end.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah, I mean, I'm looking at it, and I again
flying that we didn't have Wi Fi, so I couldn't.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
I just found the score when we landed.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
So then you get home and then I'm like, I
want to look at the box score to inform how
I want to look at this game, what I want
to study, And I'm looking at the boxer. I'm like,
Mahomes had ten carries. Now you go into it and
there's there's several Nils, so there's some Neil downs in there.
But then I started going down this rabbit hole. He's
got thirty eight carries this year, the most he's ever
had in his career is sixty six. He's going to
blow that out of the water with how much Mahomes
is running this year.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
They get they.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Run option down on the goal line, which to me
is still that that's the stuff that we I did
in college. Like that, that is the best. I don't
care what anybody says. I know, push is awesome, but
you're in the two yard line. There's no better play
than speed option. There's nothing because you get two one,
so they mix that in there. He's he's decisive on
scrambles like that. He one of the reasons I think
they don't have any holding penalties is because he's not

(07:15):
just kind of what he used to do a lot
was kind of drift and kind of fade and trying
to wait for something to happen. He's just saying, screw it.
If it ain't there, I'm going, and he's taken off
and running with his legs by well.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
You know, one of the things you see from quarterbacks
DJ when you know when there is pressure, and it
wasn't a great deal, but because the Lion played really well,
but when there is pressure, like he never sacks himself.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
You know, these quarterbacks run into these sacks.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
All we see it every every Sunday, but he never
like his awareness and spatial awareness and like it's it's
second to none.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I mean, Brady had it, but Brady couldn't.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Run like Mahomes can run, like his ability just to
know exactly where he's at find the third or fourth
receiver on the move. And that's the other thing is
there's game and the way that they move Mahomes like
I just wish, I'm just we'll get to it maybe,
but yeah, just watching the Jets, you know, throw for
they don't know one screen, didn't even dial up one

(08:12):
screen the whole game, and against that pass rush, like
the fiercest pass rush, not a screen, and that's all
they do is screen and the quick game in the
perimeter game. That's that's two thirds of what the Chiefs do.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
I want to continue that on in one of these
other games, because I think there's a trend you're seeing
with a lot of the smart offensive teams. And I
think you've touched on a little bit there, Baldy. I
want to hit a couple more things before we get
to the next game. Shamari Connor had fourteen tackles. I
went there and watch all that stuff.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
You know.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
One of the things in talking to offensive coaches that
play against the Chiefs and said, well, you know what's
a challenge. What makes them so difficult defensively is they
said they hold their water better than any other team.
Whatever their late movement is, they will wait till the
last second. And they said, Spags has basically told their
defense if we get caught because we're too late, it's
on me. But I'd rather have to be too late
than too early to hold our water. Another thing is

(09:01):
they rely on a lot of flat footed reads from
those shell looks. So you're at Shamari Connor, you're at
twelve fourteen yards buck as you know, man, you're playing
back there. He's on his toes and there is no
false stepping when they run the ball. He is screaming
downhill to add to the box count. And he is
an excellent tackler, high physical tackler. Again, big time game
from him with fourteen tackles. Also had to tackle on

(09:24):
a kickoff, which I love seeing the guys playing his
guts out on defense. Is still find a way to
go out there and make plays on special teams.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
So that was another one.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Of the chief side of things, and then Baldy just
because you had mentioned that previously. James and Williams got
going a little bit. You know, we were watching and
waiting for that to happen, you know, getting him in
the quick games. That speed is so such an advantage
to have somebody like that, because not only can you
get you know, crossers and get runaway routes and use
his speed. He scores on a dig, but as a quarterback,
you just get those now routes anytime you want him because.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
You got to respect that. You got to respect the speed.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
So there's just baked in easy completions for you there
if you want him and need him and get him.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
I don't know if you saw it yet, DJ, but
you know at the end of the opening drive to
try and tight Kansas City, they had to throw the
snap to Montgomery and the throw to Jared Goff and
it was nullified. Honestly, like, the rule is a little
it's it's a little obsequious in that you know, if

(10:23):
he touches Graham Glasgow, he's got a reset. If he
doesn't touch him, he just walks up to the center
and then goes out where they you know he was'evered
by the Chiefs. You can make the throw and it's
a touchdown, so it gets called back and you know
it's it's a penalty, and you know they end up
kicking a field goal.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I thought that really hurt him right there.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Yeah, it was a I didn't know why it was
called back because I do remember that as a quarterback.
Whenever we do that, you say you can't put your
hands on anybody. You got to be able to just
come up there, keep your hands on your sides. But
we used to do it bully back in the old day,
which was the which was just to sneak me over
to get.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
To play, Like hey, I need to play.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Come over here the sideline and then and then turn
up the field hoping nobody's with you. Let's get to
San Francisco, Tampa Bay. I feel like, man, we give
Baker his love on here every week. He just continues
to do it at a high level. But I'll start
it off here on the defensive side of the ball
for Tampa with a couple guys. Dabby had two sacks
in this game. And it's so funny. I saw this

(11:20):
as a theme too, going through and watching a lot
of sacks. Reels from the weekend, you see a lot
of perimeter guys getting sacks as a result of the
car crash from somebody inside.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Vitavea is just like it's a.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yard sale with what he's doing, and then it just
creates a huge mess. And then you get guys that
come in there clean it up. You watch Seattle, you
see it with Leonard Williams.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
He does the same thing.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
He creates all kind of a mess and you see
other guys swoop in and clean it up. But the Abby,
you know, we talked about him buck in the draft process,
going back about how you know elite, elite burst and
get off and you put him in Reddick on the
opposite sides like they got a couple of fastballs they
can throw at you with those guys. And then the
other one was Jacob Parrish is a guy I really
liked in the draft corners playing really well for them

(11:58):
at a case state. He is physical and tough. I
went back through and was looking through my notes on him.
I forgot he ran He was five zho nine six
one uh so just under five teen ran four three five,
And on my notes I'm looking at him like outside, compact,
muscled up and fast. He can open, turn and explode
plays with excellent effort. He'll take on guards. He's he's

(12:19):
an awesome tackler in space. Everything he does is very
firm and sure. And then you see this game, you
watch him fill up in the hole against Christian McCaffrey,
and it's just like Christian McCaffrey is a strong, dude, baldy.
He hits him, he hits a stalemate and he ain't
going on.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
I remember, I remember during training camp, Jason Light hit
me up with the text saying that he thought Jacob
Paris was not just the best rookie, he thought he
was the best defensive player in training shas throughout preseason
because he can play obviously, he can play inside, he
can play outside, you know, and he's he's a great tackler,

(12:51):
as you're just pointing out. But he thought he was
the best defensive player through training camp.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Yeah, he's been awesome. He has been awesome.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
And then I give Toybos a lot of credit because
they have gotten the right pieces to fit that defensive puzzle.
We talked about the right kind of dbs, dbs that
are physical on the perimeter, that can bliss, that can
bring a bunch of different things, and it allows them
to continue to expand because I'll say this knowing Todd,
there's not a blister he hasn't found it that he
won't put in the game plan and he'll attack you

(13:20):
with it. So I love their aggressiveness while still trying
to retain the safeness of being in a zone. But
on offense, in this offense, when they get their weapons back,
they didn't have a booker for a big part of it, Like.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
With the kid's going to be out for a little bit,
Like JA have to wait on him for a little bit.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Did either one of you know who Cameron Johnson is?

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Yeah? Is he a rookie?

Speaker 3 (13:41):
He's a free agent. He was a free agent, but
I think he was in the league last year.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
But I mean, like Abuka goes out, Cameron Johnson comes in,
Baker's throwing it to him, you know, for one big
playoff anoe not to.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Mention Ted john how about.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
It's amazing that guys that size can still be disimpactful
in this league like his Like I don't know if
you can even see him down the field, but he's unbelievable.
They've been shorthanded all year and Baker, you know, it
was third and fourteen yesterday and Bryce Huff and Michael
Williams they've got him sacked for a ten yard loss.

(14:17):
And I don't know how he got out of it,
but now that you get out of it, he broke
two tackles and then extended the ball. You know, it's
a twenty nineteen game like this is like forty nine
ers get the ball back there, who knows what's gonna happen,
and he just makes one incredible play after another.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
How about Dallas Carolina? Buck this one? Man, Carolina?

Speaker 2 (14:41):
I feel like every time with Bryce and with Carolina
and uh and that team there, you know it's over
and you got to figure this thing out. And then
he survives. But man, he got a nice aid from
his running back Rico Daddle. That was the pissed off
game for him coming back to Dallas. Holy cow, o.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Man about being peed off to come back in. He
said they better buckle up.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
And they asked him after the game, well, and he said, yep, no,
they didn't buckle up.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
I mean, you know what was crazy is because I
kind of treated the big game that the head last
weekause of one off, like, man, can he really replicate it? Uh?

Speaker 5 (15:14):
But motivation and adrenaline can go a long way.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Terrific game for him, had over one hundred and eighty
yards thirty carries, kind of stabilized the Russian attack. And
what we're seeing with Bryce Young the run game going.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
It just frees him up to be able to play effectively.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Off freefession or without the rest because everyone is focused
on the Russian attack. And man, the Panthers, as soon
as you're ready to pour dirt on them, here.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
They come again.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
It's the cat that has nine lives sending a three
and three. And I don't know if any of us
legitimately thought that the Panthers would already have three wins
by this point of the season.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Well, I went back and watched his runs, and you
got to give credit Brady Christensen playing right guard, Kane Mays,
you know, backup center, and there's been played Grid last
year playing great right now, Like that group up front, Ye,
Damian Lewis is is an absolute beast, but they're playing
without Robert Hunt, probably their best offensive lineman. But like
to the way that they're running, whether it's toss crack

(16:09):
right now, or running power. It was impressed. Now he
broke a bunch of tackles and they blocked the safety
in the hole, and you know, the tight ends were
really involved with it.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
But that was impressed. On the other side, though, they
shut down Javonte Williams, who had a.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Great week the week before. And I don't know if
there's a defensive tackle playing better than Derek Brown this league.
I mean, just he's just a man child inside right now, possessed.
But A'shawn Robinson, Like you look at the whole group,
Pat Jones, like they're playing really well in the trenches
on that team right now. And it's been going on
for the last month. I know they off to rocky start.

(16:43):
The quarterback has some deficiencies, but you know, and then
you know Ted Mack, you know, caught the two touchdown
passes and you know, one of them he had to
uncover for Bryce to find, you know, which was a
big play.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
I thought they took the Cowboys apart.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Yeah, I want to. I knew you guys would get
hit the running back stuff. That's why I wanted to
watch the Bryce stuff because I was curious on that.
And this is I'll bring this back to discussion we
were having a little bit earlier because I felt like,
and going through a lot of these games really the
last couple of weeks, I feel like there's some trends
starting to see over and over again with the smart
teams and how they're playing. When you look at Bryce,
when the under center, when you're under center, you're seeing

(17:18):
play action, and that's when we can try and get
the ball down the field. A lot of times that's
a company with twelve personnel and they've got two tight
ends in there. So we're going to go under center,
we're going to protect it, and it's going to clear
up the looks down the field because you're going to
get more single high stuff and you're going to be
able to find your one on ones and go. And
then when they're in the gun, it's a mixture of
quick game. We're in the gun, we're getting the ball
out quick. It's a mixture of moving the pocket from

(17:40):
the gun. And then there's some screens. It's just getting
the ball out, you know, tight end screens, perimeter screens, getting.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
The ball out.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
And I feel like, you know, you were talking at
Reverend the Jets earlier, Baldi not throwing a screen, and
I'm like, man, I saw it. And we'll get to
the Charger game here in a little bit, but I
saw it with them, you're down all these offensive linement. Well,
here's what we're going to do. If we want to
get the ball vertical, we're going to get under center.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
We're gonna play it.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
We're gonna play with multiple tight ends, and that's we're
going to help those guys out. We'll take our shots
when we're just in the gun. We're not going to
be in the same launch point and sit back there
and hold the ball all day long. You're gonna get killed.
So I feel like you're seeing the smart teams play
this very similar brand.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
You have to do with DJ.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
You have to do it like these teams that just
want to play shotgun football right now, even in the
power running game on short yardage and goal line when
you got to get a yard, because the bad teams
can't make a.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yard, they don't know how to do it.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
They still don't believe they really Outside of the Eagles
doing a Towsch post, you see the good teams how
to gain a yard, short yardage, goal line when they
need a yard, and the bad team still continue to
just screw that play up.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
But even like, well, I mean, go for it. Know
what Aaron Glenn was doing on fourth and one?

Speaker 5 (18:45):
Yeah, that was bizarre. We're going to leave that game alone.
We're gonna leave that game alone.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
But Buck, I to me like, that's that's the kind
of game that that Bryce Young. Like we used to
always talk about trucks and trailers, like, he is not
a truck. He's not going to pull the team, but
he's a functional trick. If you've got all the other pieces,
you can win games with the way he plays because
he makes good decisions, he's playing with poise, he can
get the ball kind of distributed where it needs to go.
He's not going to overwhelm me with physicality. But again,

(19:10):
it's like a two hundred ish yard game. You know
he's going to get you some touchdowns and that with
the run game that they have and the way that
they're playing up front on defense, I know that carved
him up in the back end. But they can be
a five hundred team. That's the formula for them to
be a five hundred team and maybe obviously be a
game over because we have seventeen games now, Yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Mean look, there's a path for him. I think they
found a blueprint and identity in doing so. And as
you talk about Bryce Young being able to understand exactly
who he is and how he has to play within
the confines of this team, and that means more managerial
than playmaker. But he is okay with that because his
skill shit, to me, strikes me as more of a
game manager than a playmaker. So if he leans into that,

(19:52):
it allows the other guys to work and they play
complimentary ball with him kind of directing and understanding what
his role is, they can win a lot of games.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
All right.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
See, if you guys are with me on this, I'm
gonna request that we have a funeral right now, real quick.
I'm gonna and and baldy, I'm gonna refer to this
as the it's gonna sound weird, the butt funeral, okay,
because when it comes to Sam Donald, I'm done with
the butts.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Oh but we'll see what.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Oh but the playoff game come on, man Like, at
some point in time, even if you've been the harshest
Sam Donald critic, this is a long run. He's on
right now playing e leed e leaite football and they
got a big win. Buck, you were there, and Jackson,
I got to let Buck, I'll kick it to you
since you're in the building. But I just, I mean,
I let's just stop. Sam Donald's playing position as well
as anybody in the league right now.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Yeah, he is, and I gotta say there was a
healthy amount of respect for him coming into the game.
Liam Cohn talked about him, lavished praise on him in
terms of how talented he is and how far he's
come as a player field level. What I gotta say this, man,
it's an offense that's well constructed. It's one where early
in the game they they're trying to run the ball

(20:58):
and then do some things. But Ald, he knows this. DJ,
And you've been around it enough to know.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
Bald.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
You remember in yesteryear when you were practice and if
there was a guy that they were gonna target in
the secondary, they put a yellow penny on him, so
he had the yellow jersey on.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
And you would know that there were a handful of
plays on design. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
So DJ Emerson, no, Greg Newsom comes in over waymen,
he comes in and I think it's doing a it's
doing a break or time out, and so he trots
on to the field and he's standing along their sideline
while it's a break and out.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
From far but you can already see.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
They break the huddle and JSN runs some kind of
route that's a post and he catches and he is
pulling away from Newsom and I'm like, man, first.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
Play, you don't even let him like stretch or do anything.
They throw a bump right over his head.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
And it was the beauty of watching the first completions
that Sam Donald had all went to Jackson Smith and
g it wasn't great early. And then the second half,
the first two of the Cooper Cup, big play, big play,
and then they finish it with a cute little bootleg.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
Throwback to AJ Barner to win it.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
And it's these explosive plays that they script and dial
up that Clink Kubiak got from his dad's playbook, and
it's just and you're just looking at it, like, oh, man,
there seeing.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
His yards per attempt, Like for Donald's he's at nine
point six. It's breaking almost ten yards in attempt.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
It shot zone, it's pitbull shot, shot, shot, shot, shot shot,
It's all the time. And I'm sitting there on the
sideline like I cannot believe that Sam Donald is dropping
these bombs. But JSN is everything that we talked about
last week. He is unbelievable as a route runner.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
He has it and I mean route running. Patient's precision
is great.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
That Cooper Cup is there, but there's no doubt the
ball is going to Jackson Smith and Jig.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
But when they have they need that out.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
You know, when when koop X offense is rolling, man,
it's it's a symphony, you know, and it's it all,
it all goes together, it all flows together. It's uh,
it's it's I would think DJ it's a quarterbacks dream
to play in that offense right now. Now, Sam has
got exceptional skills and allows him to play at a
very consistent level week in week out. But he's he's

(23:30):
in the right offense right now, and he's got the
right playmakers around him. So you know, it's funny, like
you're talking about newsomehow they went right after him. You know,
Aaron Rodgers did the same thing. Uh Tyson Campbell. You know,
like it was like, yes, we're gonna put d K
on the new guy and we'll go right after him.
And that's what they did. Uh.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
The trade lose, lose so far on that on that,
on that trade, a couple of nuggets on the defensive
side of the ball I mentioned earlier. Leonard Williams still
continues just create a mess back there. Channing Nuosu rushed
with a lot of physicality. He had a sack and
a half. It's nice to have him back healthy this year.
It's again we talked about every week, Seattle's got a
really really good front and then seeing Nicky and Mawari

(24:10):
the rookie, you know, seeing how they were gonna use him.
He had nine tackles in a TfL lot of stuff
near the line of scrimmage. Reminds me of you know what,
We've had a lot of these guys. Who is the
linebacker now? I'm gonna the Florida State linebacker with the
long arms was with Jacksonville, right Buck. This is going
back many years ago. He retired young. He retired after

(24:30):
like four or five years, but he played at a
really really high level.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
He was like two hundred and twenty pounds.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
But he Smith Kelvin Smith, Yes, like I got some
Telvin Smith vibes from Iman Wari kind of like down
there in the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
Looks like kind of a pterodactyl.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Just looks big and rangy and long, and he kind
of buzz underneath some things. He gets off blocks, he
plays physical, he's he's kind of finding a little spot
there in a role.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
So good.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Good to see on the Seattle side of things. And
I'm I know they just played each other, and I know,
Detro it's not going anywhere, but man, I was watching
that game, and I just watched the Tampa game, and
I'm sitting there going is that going to be the
NFC Championship game rematch? Is it going to be Tampa Seattle?
I don't know if anybody's playing better than those two
teams right now.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
I mean good, And I'm gonna say this because it's
one thing to talk about Seattle's front, it's another thing
to fill it when you're on the field level DJ
they dominated the point of attack to the point going
into the game, I think the Jacks had only surrendered
maybe three or four sacks.

Speaker 5 (25:31):
That many sacks they gave up seven.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
And it started with they were bringing pressure early and
then it was a four man rush that was just
like a Boa.

Speaker 7 (25:40):
Constrict Iron Murphy player. Right now, I mean just squeezing
the pocket. And Byron Murphy didn't get enough love in
the draft process.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
He's explosive in dynamic. Leonard Williams is certainly to point
on the sword. DeMarcus Lawrence is the veterans with savvy
or whatever you talk about. You also on the edge. Man,
they are good on defense, and they're kind of like
one of those best kept secrets in terms of we're
gonna look up and they're gonna be there at the
end and everyone's gonna be like, oh, this is a
really good front They're not lob the leasona boom, but man,

(26:13):
they are a dominant front line.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Well that surprise you, baldi if we saw that, if
that ended up being the NFC Championship game when it
was all said and done, when that surprise you all?

Speaker 3 (26:21):
Right? Now, I mean, look at the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
You know, you look at the quarterback play, you look
at the defense, you look at the ability to affect
the other team's quarterback. Mike McDonald's going to sit there
in those matchup you know zones of his and you
know they're just going to match you with your route combinations.
Just sit on top of you make the quarterback hold
the ball and you know, I mean that's what leads
to a lot of sacks like he had in Baltimore.
And it's starting to come right now.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
I feel like m. M. Moury is going to be
a lot like Kyle Hamilton.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
And they're going to be that multiple chess piece with
him and his range and the things that he can do.
I mean, you could just see what they did in
Baltimore two years ago, being built defensively right now in Seattle.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
No question win for them. Jacksonville a good fight too.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
They're not going anywhere, so it's going to be interesting
to follow them as we go forward.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
Take quick break, we come back.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
We'll get into a few more games, all right. Don't
need to spend a long time here. But it was
a big win for the Chargers. They almost let one
get away down there in Miami. But when you win
a game and you're playing with your fifth and sixth
offensive tackle, Bobby Hart right off the street starting at
right tackle, found out just before the game that Jamari
Sawyer was not going to play, so you're down your

(27:29):
top four tackles, so you end up with Austin Deculus
at left, Bobby Hart at right. They did a lot
of what I was talking about earlier, where it's just
twelve and twenty two personnel. I had two backs out
there with Tucker Fist kind of was that big fullback.
They ran the ball really well with Kamani Videll. After
the injuries they've lost their top two backs. He goes
for a buck twenty four have has he ever had

(27:49):
a day like that? Had four yards in that game
that he's had so far in his early career as
a rookie last year. But you think about that. I'm
watching that game. First of all, I want to give
it real quick. T Ray Harris, the rookie receiver who
was a former quarterbacks at Mississippi, really good receiver. If
you watch it, if you just went and watched the
cut up of all their explosive runs with all their
backs this year, Trey Harris is freaking lead blocking on

(28:11):
almost all of them. Like he is out there as
a rookie. He is blocking his tailoff out there on
the perimeter. Uh So, something to keep an eye on
with him. But defense so bad, they misfit everything. They
all these guys up front that they've drafted linebackers, These
linebackers are bad and they misfit. And you could see
Camanie Videll when you watch the explosive baldy, you'll see

(28:34):
him kind of fit up into the line of scrimmage.
He'll wait, make the linebacker commit, just bounce and they've
got multiple guys and gaps and they're gaping holes uh
everywhere else.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
So yeah, here you go again.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Put in the chat four explosive runs, tied for the
most by any charging the game over the last three
seasons for Vidal. So a good, good performance from him.
But I was thinking about Joe Ortiz the second year there,
that first draft. If you look at it, Joe in
the first round is played at an all pro level.
When he's been out there. You look at mccacky, he's
been as good as any receiver in that draft class.

(29:06):
You've got two starting corners and Tarheek still who's really good,
and cam Hert's been out there playing. Then you got
Vi Dow, I mean, then you got Vidal out here
doing this. That's a heck of a first draft there
in twenty twenty four. But Miami, the Boo Birds were out,
they still found a way. They get a big touchdown
too late to take the lead. But the other thing, Buck,

(29:26):
I'll get you to on this one was one of
the kind of cool stories from the weekend for me.
Nahim heinz out there. It's been over a thousand days
since he's played an NFL game and he has a
kickoff return after the go ahead touchdown takes him to
the forty like that. They started their drive with the
forty because of his kick return, they got and played
a game over a thousand days. So hats off to him,

(29:48):
and he even tweeted out everybody thought my career was over.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
You know. It's a kind of a cool story.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
It's cool. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
So it's really cool because he's from the hometown and
I had a chance to talk to him this summer
about that unfortunate accident. Je Ski's bounced back, has to
work his way back into it. But then for him
to come out of those as he told me those
dark days, to have an opportunity to fix it.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
Man, what a great story.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
And I knew he was going to have an opportunity,
and so pass off to him for getting it done.
I think the big story that came out of there
is Tua calling out all the teammates afterwards, and we
talk a lot about ball and a lot about the
things that happened on the field, but it's clear that
something in Miami off the field is not working. When
you talk about people being perpetually late, late to meetings,

(30:33):
late to practice, those were the reports that came out
last year, and a lot of times he was their
best players. And then when tuas talking about people being
late to player led meetings and functions in film sessions
and dinners.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
And all this, Man, there's something that is wrong.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
And I am a believer that when you're in a
place like Miami that has all the trappings of the city,
the program has to be edge year has to be
tougher and tighter and more discipline in detail than lax.
And it is clear and apparent that that's not the
program to have, which is why they have not been
able to consistently win.

Speaker 5 (31:09):
Baldy, you're grinning right there.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
You're you're I know, South Florida.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Like I see these guys, you know, I don't want
to name any names. Like there's just way too much distractions,
Like it's been going on forever.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
I mean, it was going back when when Shulu was there, you.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Know, and any coach, you know, Jimmy Johnson, like, there's
just too it's just too good.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't think that was tough one.

Speaker 5 (31:38):
That's a tough one. People have always said that about
two places.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
By the way, They've always said it would be hard
to win consistently in Miami in Atlanta. Atlanta is the
other one because of the nightlife that you know, gets
mentioned a lot.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Which else there a little bit, but.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
I think you have to you have to account and
put some things, bake some things into the cake to
do it. So if I'm at Miami Atlanta, those places
where I know light life is prevalent, the day starts earlier,
you're in the building at seven o'clock. You're having things
where you either can curb it or you can clearly
see who's been going out because you can't sustain it

(32:17):
going out, getting up early, practicing hard, and doing those things. Shoot, man,
when the Rams came to LA they had to flip
the schedule with Sean McVay because guys were enjoying the
night life in Hollywood. They're things that you have to
do to help the players help themselves, and clearly they're
not doing that.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
In Miami right now me.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
You know, like when a dignitary goes overseas and he's
in an in foreign country and they have the interpreter
right there interpret.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
I feel like.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
When Mike McDaniel like just starts rambling, you know, at
any press conference, you need somebody to kind of filter
the whole thing to what is he really saying here
because it's not always translatable.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
I don't know where he's going some of these with somebody.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Yeah, I was sitting up there.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
We were kind of waiting to go downstairs to get
on the bus, and so there's still a bunch of
you know, people that weren't at the press comps kind
of in the media area up in the press box
in the in the postgame was on up there, and
it reminded me of I remember somebody used this phrase
one time about somebody's train of thought that they left
the they left their driveway to turn their GPS off,

(33:25):
and it's just you don't know where you're going, like
where is this thing?

Speaker 5 (33:28):
Where is this thing going?

Speaker 2 (33:29):
We're going to find our way back home here when
this is all said and done, like it is, it
was rambling, uh, to say the least, let's whip through
a few more games, Baldy, We'll get you on your
way here Arizona Indie Man, the fighting Colts just keep
it rolling.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
I tell you what, I watched that game.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
If you're just a fan of good offense, watch the Colts.
I mean every phase of the game. And now like this,
Josh Downs, I mean the North Carolina kids slot receiver,
like he's got a real role in this offense.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Tyler Warren, the often goes through him.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
He's been awesome.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
I mean he has been We knew he was going
to be a good player. DJ but like the way
that they use him. He's the f back. He's a
wing tight end. He's split out, he's split in the slide.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Like the catches.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
And I'll say this, if you don't have a tight
end delay in your.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Offense, you're not playing offense in this league.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Does every tight end that delays and then releases late,
do they get the ball and get a I mean,
it's unreal what they're doing with them. But he's Daniel
Jones is the story. They could easily be undefeated right now.
But that offense is humming and Jonathan Taylor is running
as well as he did when he ran the won
the rushing title. Right now, and I'll say this about

(34:40):
Quentin Nelson. Zeke used to say this about Zach Martin
in Dallas. No matter where the play starts, it ends
up used to end up behind Zach Martin. Wherever the
play starts, it ends up behind Quentin Nelson. Right now,
he's playing as well as he's ever played. And it's
it's it's really and that Bordolini. The whole group up
front is playing really, really good as a group.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
Yeah, I'm really impressed, man, just with the goals that look,
they are a team that is built the right way.

Speaker 5 (35:10):
Not quite ready to call.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Them title contendents, but when you look at the way
they can put the pieces of the puzzle together Offensively,
they have a dominant running game with Jonathan Taylor.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
Danny Dimes is playing terrific as a distributor.

Speaker 4 (35:21):
They have weapons on the outside in the passing game,
but it starts with Tyler, Warren, Dennisty others that can
get it done. And then lou and Aroumo on defense
as a mad scientist concocting crazy schemes, deba photos play
callers and quarterbacks man As they continue to gain confidence.
There is a path for the Colts to be a
team that is a headache to have to deal with

(35:42):
in the postseason.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
I think the conference is wide open right now and
they're in a great spot. I'm excited to study them
this week, Baldy, because they come out here to play
the Chargers, So that'll be a fun one to really
dig in and watch that offense. On the defensive side
of the ball, quit he pay had a couple of sacks.
He's a good player and they are fast and physical upfront.
We've talked about it all the time. Chris Ballard is
big on traits and they look like a long fast

(36:06):
as well.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
And that he's three years he's never played. Yea, he
looks and you watch him warm up before the game.
I saw him a couple weeks ago get some rams.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
He doesn't.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
He looks ageless. You know, I don't know what year
he's now. He's probably like nine somewhere around there. But
like he like, there's no slowdown in his game right now.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Remember you used to talk about edge rushers and go man,
you really want to get somebody on the opposite side.
So it'll take some attention away from him. I feel like, now,
if I'm a premier edge rusher man and park me
next to a big time DT, I'd rather have a
big time DT than to have somebody on the other side.
As you see, everybody's able to you can play off
of him, you can play off of all the damage
that they do inside there.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
Cincinnati Green Bay.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
I feel confident that we nailed this one because we
said whether or not it was Jamis or Joe Flacco
ain't going to get the Bengals into the playoffs. But
they get Jamar Chase into the Pro Bowl. So that's
that's that's on target here ten for ninety four for
Jamar Chase and this one. I'll go to the Green
Bay side of things. I know, you know with rocky quarterbacks,
I always are with rooky players. To me, it's always

(37:06):
about two things. It's about the flashes, like can you
see the flashes of what you hope you're going to see?
And then are they just getting better as the season
goes along? And it was big news there in Green
Bay when they took a receiver in the first round
and now you're seeing it now. This is three weeks
in a role with Matthew Golden having a catch over
thirty yards. He had three for eighty six in this game.
He's given up some big plays and it doesn't necessarily

(37:27):
they had a go ball to him, but he's also
giving you some of that juice and burst and pop
after the catch.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
So I like what I've seen from him.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
I think you're going to see his role continue to
just climb as the season goes along.

Speaker 5 (37:36):
Baldy, Well, they were.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
You know, I remember last year, you know, coach was
saying that, you know, he didn't believe in having a
number one wide receiver and all this, and then they
get to the playoffs last year and they don't have
any receivers.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
And nobody's going to play.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
And now Matthew Golden is there, and you're like, okay,
now there's a pecking order. You know, this is where
it's going to start. You know, we can go through
all the guys that have been hurt and we know
who all they are, but they need a guy for
Jordan Love to go to right now and to get
to big plays, all of those play action fakes and
under center and the fakes right now to Josh Jacobs
and whatnot to get the ball down the field and

(38:11):
they're able to do that.

Speaker 5 (38:13):
Buck anything.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
I mean Cincinnati, I mean, I don't think they're gonna
be able to keep this thing afloat before Joe Burrow Good.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
I think the main thing was more so on the
Packers thing, And I think it was funny that you
brought up the Matthew Golden thing, not only the catches,
but the fact that they had two carries and attempts.
And as they're beginning to narrow the focus, I think
people have to understand with the Packers, with the Micah
trade and all this, there's a lot of new pieces
and expectations that are coming together. Having the bye week
to kind of reset and recalibrate, we saw a much

(38:42):
better version of that. But I will say this, their
defense hasn't even scratched the potential on what they could become.
What we saw yesterday was Edrin Cooper and kway Walker
have impacts in terms of being sidelined the sideline chasers.
As Micah Parsons begins to command more intention from people,
you can see some of their lesser names, some of

(39:03):
their first round talents emerge and they play at the
blue chip level. So the Packers are going to be
the team that you talk about. Don't judge them about
how they played the first half of the season. Judge
them by how they played down the stretch when everything
kind of clicks together.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Yeah, there's a lot of dudes there on the defensive
side of the ball. Last one, Baldy Tennessee Vegas when
you're at that one.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
Right, Yeah, Well, I mean I think the only team
the Raiders could have beaten yesterday was you know, was Tennessee. Uh,
I mean, like honestly it, I mean, I know, Rock
Bowers isn't there, you know, for and that's a big loss,
huge loss from a playmaker standpoint. I have no idea
what Chip Kelly is doing and how they're how they're

(39:43):
getting this done. There's clearly a disconnect between I think
Chip and and Geno and and what Pete wanted to do.
They had that game won and sewed up, and Tennessee
was going anywhere, and you know, they're they're putting the
ball in the air when they don't need to put
the ball in the air, and it gets intercepted because
that's what Gino.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
Does right now.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
But he gets like completely blasted by Jeffrey Simmons, who.

Speaker 5 (40:06):
He's playing really well by the way game.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
But he's the one guy on that whole team that
just shows up. And he lost some weight this offseason.
Talked to him before the game like he's just he's
something else. I'll say this. The highlight of the game
was Eric Allen is going to the Hall of Fame,
you know, this year, and I played with him in Philly.
But they brought Mark Davis, brought back all the Raider
Hall of famers and so you know, there's you know,

(40:32):
I mean it was. It was Tim Brown's over here,
and here's James Lofton and any guy that had a
Raider of uniform. There's Eric Dickerson and we're talking about
our days in Indianapolis. I mean that to me was
the highlight of the day. Just all the gold jackets
down there on the field, and even like a James Lofty's.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
Like Baldy, They'll treating me like I'm a twenty year
veteran of the Raiders here like this.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
This is great.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
I mean, it was. It was. It was fun, pretty
fun to see.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
That's cool, yeah, right man, Yeah, yeah, my teammate. In fact,
that was the reason I went to the Raiders. I
was there because Eric Allen Toys is a cl and
so I came into Oakland to replace him and playing
with him and would send in those guys. But I
will say that, Baldy, your experience as you relate to
the Raiders, that is what it's always been when they
talk about once Raiders. A Raider like that is something

(41:18):
that the late Al Davis took seriously and his son
Mark has certainly picked it up in Oh boy, I
tell you this is this is.

Speaker 5 (41:25):
Not a great thing. Titans fired Brian Callahan. Not great.
WHOA Well, we were just.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Talking about Tennessee and it's awful. It's just awful.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
No, Baldy, you know you know what I was gonna
hit on that Cam Moore six sacks twenty five on
the year, and I went back and a lot of
times you'll see it with young quarterbacks. You see like
a high sack total. And we mentioned it like with
Justin Fields. Like Justin Fields. You watch a lot of
his sacks throughout his career. A lot of it is
him just patting the ball, holding the ball, you know,

(41:54):
and burpen the ball whatever whatever phrase you want to use.

Speaker 5 (41:57):
I watched this one, Baldy.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
I went through and watched the sacks cam Ward and
it was one two three, one two three four five
top of the rep. Hoh my gosh, freaking car crash
back there. I was getting PTSD just watching the sack.
I'm like, I don't know what the heck he's supposed
to do here. This ain't the rookie problem, but you know, I.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
Mean, you got Jason Latham out there, right tackle was
missed the last month against Max, and like there's no help,
there's no chip, and he's beating them.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
Off the snap.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
And then I don't know what Tennessee was doing when
they signed Dan Moore. I don't know what tape they
watched in Pittsburgh to say he's gonna be my left
tackle to protect my rookie quarterback.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
I talked to Cam before the game. He's a great
kid and like he could have a future.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
But I mean, he's thrown to all rookies out there,
and the line isn't protecting him.

Speaker 3 (42:42):
It was just it was just hard.

Speaker 5 (42:44):
To watch to me.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
It goes back to an interesting discussion, which is, fuck,
We've said this for years, right if you asked the
young quarterback, would you rather have a great offensive line
or great weapons? Young quarterbacks. I'd rather have a great
offensive line. You ask an older quarterback, they'd rather have
the weapons because they have the answers to the test
and they can have solutions to problems to get the
ball out to their weapons. But to me to have

(43:07):
when you put these young quarterbacks out there and then
you're not good on the offensive line, I mean, they
still have pups out on the outside. I'm not saying
they've got great receivers either, they don't really have a
whole lot anything. But man, you're not going to have
much of a chance to be successful with a young
quarterback and a bad offensive line.

Speaker 5 (43:20):
Just that it's not going to work.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
Now.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
It's the first thing that you have to do.

Speaker 4 (43:24):
I mean, look, man, you coach Jim Arbo talked about
like you can consider the offensive line to be weapons
because they're the only position that makes the entire team
better offense, defense or whatever. And when you're going to
invest in the number one overall pick in camboard, you
have to make sure the he's protected because you have
no chance if you don't protect them.

Speaker 5 (43:42):
Man. Look, man, there's the horrible.

Speaker 4 (43:44):
Offensive line and everything else around them was just never
going to be good enough.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
Well, we've seen this.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
I mean we're talking about this is the year of
the reclamation quarterback and whether it's Baker or Sam whatever.
And here you are, like he's six weeks into his
career and the coach that the play caller who they
were head coach who just relinks to play calling, you know,
it is gone. Now you've got the interim guy coming in.
So it's going to be more changing. Like he could

(44:09):
be one of these guys that is not going to
have success in Tennessee. But he might have it because
he does have He's got an unbelievable ability to just
torqu the ball. You can throw it from anywhere. He's
got ability, and he's he's bigger than I think what
anybody thinks he is.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
He's got good size to him. But and it's it's
unfortunate for him.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
Body, let me ask you a quick question and then
we'll wrap it up on this one. But I was
thinking about as we're starting to see some coaching openings
pop and the college there's going to be a ton
of them. I mean, they're saying this might be the
busiest college hiring cycle we've seen in a decade, the
major major jobs. But I was trying to think of, Okay,
if we get to the NFL level, some of these
college guys, with everything going on there, might want to

(44:48):
come up a level. And I'm looking at that research
packet from last week or whatever it was that said six, Well,
I guess one of them wouldn't have been with Lincoln Rally.
So I guess five starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Five
of the six Oklahoma guys Lincoln Riley had his hands on.
And USC's kind of got some players now and they're
playing better football. Big win against Michigan, and you're I

(45:09):
was like the Titans. I mean, golly, it wouldn't be
a bad idea to kick the tires on. Maybe Lincoln
Riley coming in there to work with somebody like cam
Ward Lincoln Riley.

Speaker 1 (45:18):
I'd take David Elko, you know, tex What about Sark Sark?
I mean, what Sart did in one week is amazing.
That guy just is That guy's locked in. Man. People
follow that guy. He's something else. He's pretty special. But
I can see guys making the jump for sure.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
I'm telling you everybody better buckle up. If you're a
college football fan or NFL fan, I think you're gonna
see massive college openings. I think you're gonna see some
NFL openings, and I think you're gonna see the train
going up and the train going down. In terms of
college guys going up to the NFL and some NFL
guys going down to college. It's gonna be wild. I mean, uh,
that's gonna be the story of the offseason. I think
it's going to be all this coaching carousel stuff. Baldy

(45:57):
always love Monday's buddy, You're the best. Appreciate you, thank yep.
I was talking to some folks the other day about
the potential college openings, and I mean, fuck it is.
And you start getting into what happens when you have
some of the primo And look, Penn State's already open.
Everybody assumes Florida is going to be open. We're talking
about Auburn potentially being open. You've already got Virginia Tech

(46:20):
stand for cal like, that's already a good number of schools.

Speaker 5 (46:23):
But when you get someone like.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
The Florida's and the Penn States, what happens is they
don't go looking for the hot coordinator. They're taking a
big time somebody else. So then it just keeps the
cycle just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning. So yeah,
we could see a crazy offseason the head.

Speaker 5 (46:41):
I mean, I can't wait ex talking about it, because DJ,
this is.

Speaker 4 (46:43):
The wildest time that I've ever seen in the football landscape.
When it comes to coaching, the volatility that exists now
is unlike anything that we've ever seen. So you talk
about the train going both ways up and down and
all this other stuff. They're always coaches to fill the seats,
but man, when it comes to quality coaches for taking

(47:05):
over some of these quality programs, and.

Speaker 5 (47:07):
Yeah, it's a good time to get it's a good
time to get re upped. You know.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
I don't know if you saw the I saw somebody
ask Matt Rule about it, and hey, agent one oh one.
I don't care if you're in your dream job. You
got kids in school. There's a zero point zero percent
chance you're leaving. You know how you answer that question.
I don't talk about other jobs. I like where I am.
I don't mention it. You know that you don't come
out and say I'm not taking that job, because you

(47:31):
know what that does. That keeps you from getting nice
little bump in your current in your current spot. So
even if you have no intention to leaving, you're very vague,
keep that thing very vague, or.

Speaker 5 (47:40):
You love I love the Yeah, you know that's it.

Speaker 4 (47:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
I always want them to be successful. I'm happy where
I am, so coach, you gonna tell me that you
are not leave.

Speaker 5 (47:52):
You know. I don't talk about other jobs. I don't everybody.
I'm trying. I'm just trying to get it the word
this week. Yep, we got a tough game this week.
That's where my focus is. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
Uh, we're gonna have some fun with Red on that tomorrow. Man,
he is gonna he is gonna be something tomorrow, insufferable.

Speaker 5 (48:07):
Yeah, yeah, I think so. I think he is. But hey,
I gotta give it to him, man, I give it
up to him. Who's yours? Man?

Speaker 2 (48:14):
Rolling, Well, we'll give him his flowers tomorrow. We'll give
Red as flowers tomorrow. All right, that's gonna do it.

Speaker 5 (48:20):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (48:21):
Don't bring the gloves. I'm gonna leave the gloves in
the drawer. I think I might begin some my EU gloves.
Y's for my address? Either that or he's gonna send
me some heat mail, none of the two. All Right,
we'll see you guys tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (48:30):
Right here, I'll move the six

Speaker 3 (48:35):
