Speaker 1 (00:05):
NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeartRadio. Young side arms up to the end zone.
Touchdown Alabama. TOUTO checkout. He's gonna head to districts himself
and try to touchdown. Bryce Young looking for the ends
(00:27):
us again down touchdown thrown on the middle, touchdown Alabama.
To burden any questions about the arm not on that one.
You are looking reasonably live at the Arizona Cardinals on
(00:49):
the football field. That's right. The off season program is
beginning today for a couple of teams with new head coaches.
Jonathan Gannon there in Arizona. In Houston, it's Demiko Ryan's
and they too are back in the building. That is
the smiling face of one Mike Boone checking up both
(01:09):
of those teams today. It's beginning to feel a lot
like a new season. It is certainly a new show.
Welcome to NFL Now, presented to you by Ikea from
her newsroom in Los Angeles. My name is Andrew Ceciliano.
Coming up in a little bit. One of my favorite
running backs in the draft. J Spears from Tulane, the
man who dominated the Cotton Bowl, will be here live
(01:32):
on our show. Let's get however, to the draft sixteen
days away. It's that time of the year where the
coaches get on the podium and do the whole press
conference thing and try to not tell you who they're
going to take. Like we think the Texans are going
quarterback at second overall, Right, that leaves them with either
Bryce Young or CJ. Stroud, we think, right. Demko Ryan's
(01:57):
wasn't saying much today having a number two pick. Is
it's excited for us to have the number two pick,
but it's also at the same time, there's no pressure
where a young man is picked. I think it is
unfair to ask a guy just because you're picked number
two overall you have to come in and you're the
face of our franchise and you're the leader. That's unfair
(02:20):
to the guy, right, And I'm not gonna put that
type of weight on the shoulders of whoever that is
that we pick. We have leaders in our locker room already,
so I'm not asking the guy to come in and
be this savior for our team, asking guy to come
in and just put his head down and just work.
Damiko Ryans on the podium early today as they begin
(02:40):
their offseason program. They're no real football obviously on the
field in Houston. Tom Pellicero, hello, our insider today, So
DMIKO wouldn't say what they're taking shockingly, granted they don't
know who's going to be there. It could be a quarterback.
Let's talk about the number one would be in many
people's eyes quarterbacks Bryce Young, because he is down the
(03:01):
home stretch here, Tom, it seems on his in person visits.
That's all right, Andrew. Bryce Young is visiting the Carolina
Panthers today. They have of course traded up to the
number one overall pick, and there'll be a lot of
people within the NFL who at this point would be
surprised if Young does not go to Carolina at number
one overall. However, after this visit, I am told Young
(03:24):
is headed to Houston later this week for a visit
with the Texans as well. So in a matter of
days here, both the teams holding the number one and
number two picks are going to get an up close
and personal look at Bryce Young. Meanwhile, there are several
other top quarterback prospects in this draft. One of them
Kentucky's Will Levis, on a visit today with the Titans tonight.
(03:47):
I am told that he is flying to Tampa for
a visit with the Bucks. Now, unlike Bryce Young, is
a little bit more uncertainty about exactly when Will Levis goes.
Tennessee has the number eleven pick, Tampa has the number
nineteen pick. Somewhere in there could potentially be a landing
spot for Will Levis. Interesting, Rett Lewis is going to
join us a little bit later. He has his one
(04:09):
and only mock draft out. He has Levis going eleven
to the Tennessee Titans. All right, let's get to Cliff Kingsbury. Tom.
This one's fascinating. Cliff Kingsbury had spoken in the past
before he took the Cardinals job some years ago about
working at USC. But when you put together Cliff Kingsbury
and the possible number one pick in next year's draft,
(04:33):
I can see what he's thinking. Lander. This is a
fascinating move for Cliff Kingsbury, who did spend about a
month on paper as USC's offensive coordinator back in twenty
eighteen before he ended up getting the Arizona Cardinals head
coaching job. Well, Arizona fired Kingsbury, of course, back in January.
(04:54):
Kingsbury disappeared to Thailand for a while, did interview for
some NFL jobs, But now I am told he is
expected to land a usc along with Lincoln Riley, where
King Murray will do work with the Trojans quarterbacks. That
is significant for variety of reasons. One of them is
the fact that Kingsbury, who of course was in charge
in Arizona when they took Tyler Murray number one overall,
(05:16):
potentially could be working with next year's number one overall pick,
the Rainy Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams. Now, certainly people
have different opinions about Cliff Kingsbury based on how things
ended in Arizona. Here's what he knows. Look at Cliff
Kingsbury's track record with quarterbacks at the college level. He
was working with Case Keenum when Keenam broke like every
(05:37):
NC double a passing record. He had Baker Mayfield at
Texas Tech for a while, he had Patrick Mahomes at
Texas Tech. He spent time with a variety of other
top quarterbacks through his time at the college level. Now
he takes over with a very talented passer, Caleb Williams,
who again potentially could be in that mix. For the
number one overall pick. Who knows what that means for
Kingsbury in the big picture of his career. Certainly, though,
(05:59):
you would think on a talented USC team with a
chance to be very good in twenty twenty three, if
they four well, and so does Caleb Williams, that can
open up all sorts of opportunities for where Kingsbury's next
big stop potentially could be. Exactly thinking ahead here going
back to the team for which he was once offensive
coordinator but never actually called a play as it was
in the off season. And to your point about Case Kingdom,
(06:22):
He's still, twelve years after leaving college football, is still
the nc double a's all time leading passer. Strange but true.
Last year, Caleb Williams through eight touchdowns to Jordan Addison.
He could hear his name called in sixteen days. Tom,
tell me about his visits. Jordan Addison is a busy
man right now, Andrew, as our ian rapport decided to
(06:44):
tweet on his off day today, Addison is visiting the
Vikings right now. After that, he is going to go
on to visit the Giants and the Bills, all teams
that you would think are logical potential fits to take
a wide receiver in round one. He's currently number thirteen
prospect on Daniel Jeremiah's top fifty list. That could be
(07:05):
more in that area than a team like the Vikings,
who currently are drafted at number twenty three, might have
a shot to take him. Another wide receiver visit News.
Zay Flowers has been all over the country here in
recent weeks. Posted a workout video this morning. Well, the
next couple of days, Flowers is going to be working
out in hotel gyms because he's got a visit tomorrow
with the Giants. Then he's gonna fly to Buffalo tomorrow
(07:27):
night for dinner with the Bills, followed by a visit
on Thursday in Buffalo. Flowers as somebody we've talked a
lot about. His name has been kicked around quite a
bit here as potentially even the number one wide receiver
off the board, So that is going to be one
to keep an eye on. Meanwhile, another top receiver, Jalen
Hyatt out of Tennessee, set to visit the Giants tomorrow
(07:50):
as well. Andrew, I thought you're gonna do the like
Jalen Hyatt, hod, I'm sorry, Zay Flowers Hotel Jim's Jalen
Hyatt transition there. I saw that building. I thought this
didn't do it though, Okay, we're sponsored by Marriott, so
I let it slid. Sure. Show today is sponsored by Ikia. However,
for the record, trying to avoid it and then stepped
(08:13):
right in it. Jeff Akuda has been traded, which you know,
most people say, big deal, but this is a guy
who three years ago, Tom was the third overall pick.
That's right, and much like Ikea, a bargain for the
Atlanta Falcons if they can get the most out of
Jeff Okuda as he heads to the Falcons, Detroit sending
(08:37):
him to Atlanta for a fifth round pick in this
year's NFL draft. What this means for the Lions they
clear about five million dollars in cash and cap space
that was fully guaranteed Onokuda's final year of his original
rookie contract. Does have a fift year option in twenty
twenty four. Hard to imagine the Falcons are going to
pick that up. We'll see exactly how they approach it,
(08:59):
but it's a bylow possibility here on a player who
is talented enough that he went number three over all
back in twenty twenty, Okuda coming off of his most
productive year. You certainly could say with fifteen starts in Detroit,
it had some injuries the previous couple of years. Here,
we'll see what they're able to get out of him.
Certainly though, for Okuda, if that fifth year ends option
(09:19):
ends up getting declined, he's got a fresh start right
now in Atlanta Andre and a chance to earn himself
a lot of money with free agency looming next March,
with the Falcons adding a lot of defensive talent here
Okuda last week Klais Campbell, and that fifth year option
deadline is right after the draft, so the Falcons have
to figure it out quickly. Tom, stay right there. Let's
get to Denver because the Broncos, much like the Texans,
(09:41):
much like the Cardinals, are back in the building today
because they have a brand new head coach. First time.
We get Sean Payton with his new team and with
Courtland Sutton and Jerry Judy, who he made clear last
month aren't going anywhere. We're not trading those two players now.
When people call and the phone rings like it does
(10:04):
this time of the year, George Peyton's job is to
pick it up and say, hey, yeah, I'll tell you
what we're not. And so, yeah, we received calls. You bet,
those are two good football players. But we're in the
business of gathering talent right now. And why do people
(10:24):
call because they know we're void of draft picks and
that we might because there were some discussions a year ago,
I think regarding Courtland. But we like our the current
group that we're working with, all right. That Sean Payton
again a couple of weeks ago at the annual meeting.
They don't have a lot of picks because a lot
of those picks are in Seattle. They don't pick until
(10:45):
sixty seventh overall, but hey, they also pick sixty eight
back to back picks there and the third round. The
talent about which John Peyton was talking as symbols for
the first time today with their new head coach, we
have Tom We have James Palmer here with us as well. James,
you are in Denver, you are in building. The message
(11:06):
today from Sean Payton is that we're going to close
the chapter on last year Andrew. He believes that these
players obviously have taken it from every single angle, physically
and mentally and through the media. And everything that went
wrong last year. He wants to close that chapter and
he wants to move forward, telling them now is the
(11:27):
time that they're going to roll up their sleeves and
they're going to get to work, and he mentioned that
it's going to be difficult. It starts today with their conditioning.
I've seen them go into the weight room earlier this morning.
And obviously they're going to have these meetings with Sean
Payton and his new coaching staff. But he wants to
focus on is those first two and it's the conditioning
and it's the way training because he believes these players
just weren't pushed enough last year in the offseason and
(11:49):
that led to a lot of the injury issues that
this team had throughout all of last year when the
most injury playing to teams in the entire NFL. He
has put his resources in and brought his people in.
The ownership group led by Greg Penner has put a
lot of resources and a lot behind changing in this
offseason as well, and he wants this phase one to
go much longer than the three weeks that it is
(12:10):
in the NFL. They haven't added mini camp on April
twenty fourth to the twenty seventh. That's going to be
more to Phase one is would be more conditioning, more
weight training. That is his number one focus. That this
team was not physical enough, Tom, it was not competitive
enough during the preseason in his eyes, no nine on seven,
no one on one drills, everybody's going to play in
the preseason. We're going to see more competitiveness from this
entire group. And that kind of all started today. Of course,
(12:35):
James is gonna be a ton of focus on Russell
Wilson exactly what direction things go for him after certainly
a subpar year for the Broncos in his first season
in Denver. I asked Sean Payton in that sit down
interview I did with him last month in Phoenix about Russ,
and basically I framed the question as the narrative out
there seems to be the Russ is done, that he's
(12:55):
not going to play at a high level anymore. And
Peyton said, well, respectfully, I'd say that's not the narrative.
The narrative is what happened last year. That's really the
focus here is just try to figure out all the
various factors that went into Russell Wilson not playing like
Russell Wilson in twenty twenty two, and as Peyton said,
there's a lot of hands that are dirty in that
it's not all about one person, and it's not all
(13:15):
about necessarily Russell Wilson. Having said that, there were a
variety of issues last year for Russell Wilson in Denver,
his weight was one of them, especially throughout the course
of the off season. Even some of his social media
posts became an issue through the course of a very
disappointing season as a whole for the Broncos team. As Peyton,
have you given him any guidelines but what you want
(13:36):
him to look like and act like coming into a
new program in Denver? He said, there's no guidelines here,
but certainly this is something that there's a standard for
all players that are going to be in this operation.
Russell Wilson is certainly one of those. He's going to
be held to a certain standard and it is going
to be fascinating to see both on and off the field.
How Sean Payton tries to get Russell Wilson back on track, Yeah, James,
(13:57):
how do they help him? Because so much has been
made about it's going to be different. Let's get rid
of the office. By the way, that office that Russell
hide upstairs allegedly always had NFL network on, according to
one article. So Russell, if you're watching high, I hope
you're enjoying day one of school. How do James they
kind of get him back? Yeah, And I know Tom
asks Sean Payton this and everyone has and he hasn't
(14:20):
really alluded to it much about what he thinks he
can do with Sean Payton. But you saw that full
screen graphic next to Tom there about some of the
players that have been added. I think the first part
Sean Payton has accomplished because guys like Mike McGlinchey and
Somaji pre Ryan, he has convinced them about what he
envisions this offense to be. He had to do that
when he met with both of them and others that
(14:40):
they brought in the free agency, and he convinced them
about what he envisions to happen with this entire offense.
You look at McGlinchey, look at Ben Power. As you
look at them, Chris Manhurst comes in a fullback, and
I mentioned p Ryan at two hundred and forty pounds
as a running back. He's bringing in a physical group
around Russell Wilson, and it looks to be that they
want this to be a physical offense that has a
two back system. That's something that p Ryan was definitely
(15:03):
sold on because his role was bacted to increase in Cincinnati.
They wanted to increase it because of the way he's
caught the football, the way he's run the football. There's
really never negative plays when Peter Ryan carries it. My
point of this, Andrew is it just looks like Sean
Payton has brought a lot of physicality around Russell Wilson.
That's our first indication about what we have seen from
this offense. He hasn't tom really said anything else to
(15:24):
anybody about what he envisions he's specifically doing with Russ. Well,
we'll find out today day number one. Although it's not
real football here, just working out day one through off
season workouts, what it's still fun. Of course, it's fun.
Of course that's fun. I'm just saying that you're only
gleam selling, Andrew. You're trying to get the party pooper.
(15:49):
They're back in the building, come on coming up next.
We're back in the NFC South because that guy has
left the building. We hit the roster reset button on
that division. You're watching NFL now on that one. So
(16:10):
as we sit here in April eleven, we are fairly
certain that Tom Brady is definitely not coming back. Right,
fairly certain and definitely any does make sense together? Right? Sure? Well,
now the Bucks move on and Todd Bowles has to
go find the next man up. When you replace a
(16:30):
player of that magnitude, first of all, you don't replace them.
You know, you lose aura, you lose the expectation of
being great. That doesn't mean you can't be great, you know,
you just have to do it more as a team.
You know, we did it as a team when he
was there, but you know, he was such a great
player and a great person that you focus all on that.
And now that that is gone, you know, the perception
(16:53):
is that everything else is gone, and really it isn't.
We have a lot of good players on our team
on both sides of the ball. We have some pieces
to fill in, but we have a lot of good
football players on our team. But do they have a quarterback?
Let's hit the roster reset button on the NFC North
one Big Control Alt de Lead or the South that
beg your pardon the south. Andrew, let's control al de
(17:16):
lead on me use the second take and if Cam
Wolf and Jeff Chidia with me, gentlemen, Helodia both, let's
go through the quarterback options here as they sit picking
nineteenth overall, Cam, what do you say? Yeah, Andrew? The
big question for Tampa is how do you move on
beyond Tom Brady in twenty twenty three, And as it
(17:36):
currently stands, they have an open competition between Baker Mayfield
and their twenty twenty one second round pick Kyle Trash.
They believe that, you know, you put the pieces together,
you want to see more from Trask. He hasn't got
the opportunity on the field, but obviously that's not something
that excites a lot of Bucks fans, which is why
I found it interesting today when Tom Pellicero reported that
(17:58):
tomorrow Will Levis, the Kentucky quarterback, is coming in to
visit Tampa, and they also are scheduled to have Tennessee
quarterback Hitting hook fit It this week as well, and
so they're clearly doing their homework on this quarterback class.
They have a lot of needs here in Tampa, but
they clearly haven't rolled out taking a quarterback. I haven't
heard a lot of buzz that they're gonna trade up
high in the draft for a quarterback. But if the
(18:19):
right guy falls into their lap, maybe it's Levis, maybe
it's Looker. Could they take a quarterback and change that
sort of trajectory of the team. What's been interesting about
Tampa is they've been really focused on reloading and not
necessarily rebuilding. They resigned Lavante Davis, they resigned Jamal Dean.
They didn't trade Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to write
(18:39):
a lot of speculation, and so if they move on
beyond the quarterback area, there's a lot of potential areas
they can go in this draft. They could go running
back to fish the worst rushing team in the league
last year. They go offensive tackle to get a new
left tackle, or they can go edge rushers. They brought
Iowa's Lucas van Nessen this week and done a lot
of work at that position. Jeff, Yeah. Can you know
(19:01):
people do kind of forget that there is talent on
this team. As top bowler looted too, and you talk
about some of those players they have coming back. This
is not a team that is in dire straits, but
they're in a very tricky position when it comes to
finding that quarterback of the future with that nineteenth pick,
you don't know who's going to be there. I would
love to see them fortify that offensive line. We know
about the problems that they had with injuries last year.
(19:22):
I'll talk about moving right tackle Tristan Worth to the
left side. You replaced Donovan Smith, which is a move
I like because again you mentioned that rushing attack. They
got to be able to run the football better thirty
second in the league last year. If they get that
run game going, it can make out things a lot
easier for that supporting cast around Baker Mayfield and a
defense that was top ten in points allowed. Baker Mayfield's
(19:43):
best season twenty twenty in Cleveland, the play action game
was working, and working well ended up with them winning
a playoff game. Right, those are the Bucks. Let's do
this thing here. For the Carolina Panthers as well, they
had been busy. Not just a new coach and Frank
Brych and an entirely new staff a new defense here,
but they bring in all this talent. The left of
the screen. Andy Dalton is basically going to be the
(20:07):
veteran quarterback Bridge, if you will whole getting the next
guy ready Campbell, the next guy who we assume they
will take with the first overall pick. Tom reported earlier.
Bryce Young is there today? Where are they overall in
their quarterback research? Yeah, Andrew, they have not made a
final decision yet on who they would take at the
(20:29):
number one pick. They won't do that, and so they
finished their evaluation which will conclude next week with c. J.
Stroud and Will Levis coming in for a visit. But
from talking with people in that Carolina Pether's building, I
would handicap Bryce Young as the favorite at this point.
Like I said, it's just this point, still plenty of
time going forward. But Bryce Young's very important day for
(20:50):
him inside that building, meeting with those people inside the
building and really in control of this draft decision. And
what's been interesting about the Carolina Panthers process is they
have been very much inclusive of everyone throughout the decision,
whether it be the GM Scott Fitterer, whether it be
the head coach Frank Wright, the offensive coiner Thomas Brown.
They've had eight nine people who've had opinions in this decision.
(21:13):
So they want to come to a conclusion and they
also have the owner involved in there. But one thing
that Carolina does feel, whether it's Bryce, whether it's CJ,
whoever it is, they have a team built for a quarterback,
a rookie quarterback to come in and have early successing
year one and potentially win a wide open NFC South.
From the jump, that's exactly right. I came. I love
(21:34):
what they've done in the offseason, bringing guys like Miles
Sanders and Adam Feelin Hayden Hurst. The defense is ready made,
I know general matter of Scott Fitter or things, very
highly of that group. Loves the youth and the talent there.
With von Bell coming in to fortify the safety position,
I'd love to go see them, you know, after the
quarterback situation, find another receiver in the draft to help there,
(21:56):
because Adam Feeling is long in the tooth. DJ Chark
is a speedy threat who knows Dude Staley from the
days together in Detroit. But again, one more receiver there
who can be a young guy who can grow with
either a CJ. Strout or Bryce Shawn would be a
great thing for this team to get in the second
or third round. But quarterback, obviously is the whole story
here with this, with this team. The whole story is
(22:17):
we sit here sixteen days away from the Carolina Panthers
officially being on the clock and handing in that card
in Kansas City, Jeff Kitty camp Wolf gentleman, Wait, thank you,
I'm already forgetting the dable for Jimmy na Fry taking
a shot and example to kill a strike, it'll be
(22:39):
Robinson to the second level and beyond touchdown. That's b
Sean Robinson under immediate brought you off the hitch and
not escaped. Will Anderson home, Oh my gosh, Strout fires man,
it is grabbed and he ends up. CJ. Strout Wow
with a grow. You get a mock draft, and you
get a mock draft. And wait, and Ritt gets a
(23:01):
mock draft. No, we're kidding, it says, mock draft one point.
But Rhet did this last year. This is just one point,
oh this year. And he has Bryce Young going one
and c J. Stroud going to and then the fun
begins with Anthony Richardson at number four. The fun begins
actually right now, yeah, because the host of nearly every
show on this network is here right now. He is
(23:24):
NFL network. He's the host to night of mock draft. Well,
I have the host of path to the draft, Rhet Lewis.
It's good to have. Yet, what's Upuddy? And for the
record for accuracy, think that is one dot final. This
is the one and only. This is your final answer.
If I were regis right now well correct And some
people need more than one mock draft to get the
answers correct. In this case, we just wanted to line
(23:46):
them all up now here sixteen days before them. You
don't need a second swing. Bryce Young is guaranteed to
be number one overall or your money back, okay, And
at number four it's going to be Anthony Richardson. And
just for the record, you said no trades. Yea. So
here's the ground rule. So you say the Colts stay
firm and take Anthony richards Yeah, if that's where they're going,
(24:06):
and if that's what they want to do at quarterback,
and you're deciding between Will Levis and Anthony Richardson, it
just seems to me that Richardson has the ceiling that
is a little bit higher than Will Levis, and if
they have similar floors, and why not take the player
with the higher ceiling. But to me, the biggest piece
of this pick is the plan that Chain Styken and
Chris Ballard put into place to develop and allow Anthony
(24:30):
Richardson to develop. I kind of like it is, let's
keep three quarterbacks active. Let's make Anthony Richardson quarterback three, right,
because if he's not ready to be the starter, and
he's not ready to be one play away, so you
keep a solid starter and Gardner Minshew, you keep a backup,
and so even if Minshew goes down, you have that
second quarterback, the backup that assumes that role, and you
(24:50):
allow Anthony Richardson to remain in a place where he
could still come in and give you a few plays
in a package type. No. I like it. I really
doing a lot of this again, contingent on no trades
here and the Cardinals staying where they are at three,
and you had them taking Will Anderson. You also have
the Eagles stay where they are at ten. A lot
of people think how he might trade down. Yeah, man,
he does like to trade. But if they stay be
(25:12):
Gen Robinson, it would be fun. It feels like the
ultimate luxury pick. Like this is such a good roster
right top to bottom. They bring everybody back on the
defensive side of the ball. You've already got one of
the best, if not the best, offensive line in football.
You know, there's a commitment to the run game there,
So let's give it to a player, you know, who's
a top five overall player regardless of position in this
(25:34):
entire draft class. And so, yeah, maybe it's a little
high for a running back, but not too high for
a player of that caliber, and for a team that
wants to run the football the way the Eagles, and
a team that saw Miles Sanders leave and go to Carolina,
a team that obviously one last year in the year
before that the second half of the season with running
the football. I say it gets interesting at eleven only
because it's not that shocking that the Titans might go quarterback.
(25:58):
Are Ryan Tannehill's contract coming to an end. But they
took Lake Willis, Yeah, last year, who medi had projected.
Granted he fell to be a first round right right,
And look, I think with will Levis, what you're getting
is kind of what you kind of thought you were
hoping that Malik Willis was going to bring you, which
was some of that athleticism and the ability to eventually
develop into a starter. But I feel like Levis gives
(26:20):
it to you in a package now in which he's
a bit more ready to play if called upon that
maybe Malik Willis was when he came into the league.
And I's not to say Malik can't become that player,
but at least at this point, you're giving yourself another opportunity.
And in the absence of some sort of real long
term commitment to Ryan Tannehill beyond this year, I think
it's time to start looking for the future. And I
(26:42):
don't think you know, Mike vrabel is heading out to
all these quarterback pro days for no reason. No, and
if look, Malik Willis had done something in December that
made you say, all right, this could work, maybe this
would be a little bit different. Granted the guy still
young football player, he still has plenty of time. You
have the Seahawks going defense at five, you have the
Seahawks coming back with their second pit. Yeah. I kind
(27:03):
of like this going ahead. In Hooker, I mean, is
there is there a buzz about the draft that is
kind of trending more and is out there more than
hindon Hooker being a first round pick. Right it seems
like one of the buzziest conversations regarding this draft, in
this draft class as of right now, and so I
feel like the spots to watch there are those teams
(27:24):
that have multiple picks or that have the established veteran
I could see the Titans. If they don't like who
they have at eleven, maybe they move down and try
to find Hindon Hooker or just take them there at eleven.
In this case, the Seahawks are locked into Gino Smith
for another year or two and nothing gets a perfect
spot for Hindon Hooker to kind of sit there and
not have the pressure to go out and play right away,
but eventually become the face of that franchise. Vikings make sense.
(27:47):
Maybe the Lions, with their second go round at eighteen,
could be in the hooker business as well. And that
was a knee injury that happened in November. He is
certainly getting back there. He should be ready by September,
but why push it here? Granted he is a little
bit older now. The back half of the twenties, you
have a run on wide receivers and tight ends, but
right in the middle of the run, you have I
think a guy that fits the town perfectly at twenty
(28:11):
seven Town Prospect Franchise fan base. Let's have Cody Mauk
from North Dakota State Gold play along the offensive line
in Buffalo. So here's the option that Cody Mouk gives
you started a left tackle North Dakota State. Feels like
he can play inside at guard. Took snaps as you
know at center Senior Bowl, So you've got some opportunity
(28:33):
there if you need a swing tackle to fill in
for Dion Dawkins or Spencer Brown, and maybe you get
an upgrade along the interior of the offensive line in
the near term. Feel like Cody Mauk gives the Bills
what they want and ability to be a powerful team
in the run game if they want. And then let's
go break some tables, you know, after the game. And
it feels like he'd be okay with that. Do you
know a lot of people say in Buffalo might not
(28:54):
be the sexy pick, or maybe it is a Buffalo
sexy pick. Cody Mauk twenty seven. I was joking about
about rhet doing every show that at work, no one
knows the draft better than this guy right here. Path
to the draft hose tonight, Let's go. It's Mock Draft Live,
Mock Draft Live eight, and then we've got Path to
the Draft at six. I'm gonna wear my helmets because
I've got a dye show. Yeah, well happened with that
(29:16):
Daniel Jeremiah. I've got to deal with him twice today
and so as you know, he can throw some shots
your way and I just want to be fully protected.
And so I've got this. I'm just gonna have my
helmet on ready to go and ask them why they
couldn't get Linda out in the seventhiest. It's a great point,
the Little Ammunition. Ritt lewis everybody host of Mock Draft
Live and Path to the Draft. All the show's on after.
