Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow. Today it's a Fantasy Live edition of the Fantasy
Football Podcast. I'm Patrick Clayban. I'll be joined by Marcus
Grant and Adam Rank. Coming up today, Marcus Grant separates
fantasy from reality in Week thirteen set of standouts, plus
(00:22):
Adam Rank opens up the waiver wire, hot sauce for
the week ahead, and five guys that will get you
over the hump into the fantasy postseason. That's all today
on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. Everybody, Welcome to a
Tuesday edition of NFL Fantasy Live. Patrick Claibond here with
Adam Rank and Marcus Krant. Kicking off Week fourteen of
the NFL season with two teams who drafted in the
(00:43):
top ten as the one seeds in the NFC and
the AFC. So you know, if the real teams can
make it happen, everybody's fake team still has a chance, right, absolutely,
still in it.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
I'm glad when you did that kick you didn't miss.
I was worried you were going to take up some
of the carpet there. I was actually gonna say before
we started they hey, careful, it hasn't been an easy
day for kickers. Easy twenty four hours for kickers. But
you did it, and I'm proud of you.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Thanks for polling on him. Mark.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Look, I just know that I've heard a couple of
Fairway irons that look like that, where you just get
a whole bunch of turf and not the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
So in some ways I was sorting able to civilize
with Young Way too.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Yeah, well, with millions of people watching, just like Young
Waiku went through, let's go through other aspects of Monday
night football other than the kick that did not happen,
Starting with the quarterback for the Patriots continuing his hot streak, right, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
The MVP chance we're raining on Monday night for Drake May,
who once again had an amazing performance, didn't quite crack
the three hundred yard mark, but I don't think that
anybody really cares about that right now, considering how well
he's been playing. He's the only player with two hundred
plus passing yards in each of his team's games this season,
and in nine of those games he's had at least
(01:53):
two touchdown passes, and he's doing it to a wide
variety of wide receivers. We talked about it yesterday when
we were projecting for the Patriots pass catchers. You're like,
you really can't do it, because it does go back
to something that has been a hallmark of this Josh
McDaniel's offense, going back to the time of Tom Brady,
where you would have guys like Julian Edelman and Danny
Amandola and Wes Welker and all these other guys, and
(02:14):
outside of Randy Moss, who was in attendance last night,
there really hasn't been a dominant number one wide receiver
fantasy wise for this team in quite some time, and
it doesn't look like it's going to be. Kyle Williams
had a touchdown and that was it. So it was
interesting with Drake May out there just performing again at
another high level.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Yeah, we know we can start Drake May.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
It's in the backfield where things get a little bit
more confusing. The Patriots running backs continue to be a
riddle wrapped inside of an enigma, stuffed inside of a mystery.
Traveon Henderson three catches, eighty six scrimmage yards, eleven points,
six points, vermondre Stevenson three catches eighty scrimmage yards, eleven points. There,
but the stat council, what's really confusing because Henderson's been
playing really, really well, while a Stevenson not quite as efficient.
(02:57):
Yet it was Remandre with thirty eight snaps according opposed
to thirty for Hinderson. So as much as we might
want Trevon Henderson to be the RB one and be
the workhorse there, it is a parent that Stevenson is
still going to be the favorite of Mike Rabel and
Josh McDaniel.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
All right, yeah, you know what, We're worried about that one,
and I'm also worried about Jackson Dart here is well,
you know, it's one of those things that we again
were projecting this on a Monday show talking about Jackson Dart.
How much is he going to run?
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Now?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
We saw coming into this game, when Jackson Dart had
been playing under Brian Dabole, he was leading the league
in designed runs. There were no designed runs for him.
On Monday night. He did run the ball four times,
but they were definitely not designed runs and it really
does eat in to his fantasy production. He ended with
one hundred and thirty nine passing yards in a touchdown.
(03:49):
He ran the ball just four times. Typically, we would
go into a game expecting a floor of about fifty
rushing yards, perhaps the ability to run for a touchdown.
He's still sliding, but again, and he's got to show
a little bit more aware with all this. You got
to get out of bounds like you're getting better. Yes, Jackson,
we will go back and watch your tape from high school.
You play with a zeal and we love that about you.
(04:10):
But at the same time, you've got to protect yourself.
And I think over the remainder of the season, I
don't know how much we can count on Jackson Dart
fantasy wise. He's a decent enough passer and I think
he will develop. But one of the things we're seeing
out of this Giants team that despite the fact that
they were losing for most of this game, they're still
running the ball an awful lot. You would figure a
team that was down seventeen to nil would go out
(04:33):
there and throw the ball a ton. That's not what happened.
They did not throw the ball a lot.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
I understand why you would feel that way, But what
if it gives you the best Devin Singletary game that
we've had since Week fifteen, twenty twenty three. Yeah, Giants fans,
you will all remember not a know an upset victory
on Monday Night football, you don't remember Devin Singletary going
for nineteen point two fantasy points and leading the way.
Tyrone Tracy left the game in the fourth quarter with
(04:59):
a hip injury, but it was a lot of Devin
Singletary throughout the game to the extent where as right
brings up if it's left Jackson Dart running. Yeah, Devin
Singletary may be fantasy viable for you for the rest
of this twenty twenty five season. So congratulations to all
the folks that were watching the game late for Devin Singletary.
Let's see it early the perfect lineup here in Week thirteen,
(05:23):
it was Patrick Mahomes as the QB one, but Jean
Robinson back there as the RB one despite what he
said about picking him up or dropping him in fantasy.
Aj Brown the wide receiver one at the Seahawks defense,
going for the highest score that we've seen, tied for
the highest score we've seen in all season total score
of two forty seven point eight. So let's predict next
week's perfect lineup with the ones who will the quarterback
(05:45):
one in Week fourteen?
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Be right, I'm gonna go with.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Josh Allen, and I was surprised because I was sitting there,
I was doing the homework. I was second of the homework.
Marcus had already felt his out, so I'm like, oh,
I got Josh Allen, and I got I figured he
already took the guy who was playing the bag. I'm like, no,
it's Josh Allen, who has thirty offensive touchdowns this season
against one of the most generous defenses to opposing quarterbacks.
(06:09):
The Bengals have allowed twenty six touchdown passes this year.
That's actually just the second most in the NFL, and
they've allowed the six most fantasy points per game. I
think there are a couple of games where they just
were allowing teams to run on them, which is exactly
what Josh Allen does. So I think this was the
most obvious pick, but I'm gonna go ahead and make it.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
It seems obvious, but Joe Brady's been making Josh Allen
play left handed, so that's kind of what worries me.
I don't know what the weather is going to be
in Detroit on Thursday, but it's gonna rain inside Ford
Field because rain, Dakota Prescott's gonna have himself a day
and why. I think he's going to be a track
meet between the Cowboys and the Lions. And Dak has
been on a heater recently over the last three weeks,
averaging over three hundred passing yards per game, eight passing touchdowns,
(06:50):
nearly twenty four fantasy points per game.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
And this is the Lions defense that's had tough the
last couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Last week they gave out the four touchdown passes to
Jordan Love. The week before James Winston got them for
over thirty fantasy points. So I think it's going to
be a really entertaining game. I think it's gonna be
great for fantasy on both sides. And I think Dak
Prescott's gonna have himself a night.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
He's been on a bit of a hot streak, and
I'll keep a streak going. And taking a player that's
playing against the Cincinnati Bengals at the running back position,
James Cook had thirty.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Five touches in week thirteen.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
You got to go back to Fred Jackson in twenty
ten for that many touches. Joe Brady is gonna do
two things. He's gonna run outside zone and run mesh
the meshes haven't been working, so it's a lot of
his own runs and I think that's how they attack
the Cincinnati Bengals. James Cook has had seven games with
twenty or more Fantasy points this season. Only Christian McCaffrey
has more. I think he goes big this week, right, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Would love to stack James Cook with Josh Allen. I
also would love to get R. J. Harvey into the
lineup two this week against the Las Vegas Raiders. He's
at least sixteen Fantasy points in three of his last five.
He has over a fifty five and he does have
a fifty five percent snaps since Week eleven, and he
does lead the Broncos with three goal line rush attempts
(08:05):
over that time period. And again, this Raiders defense, they've
allowed a lot of production to opposing running backs. And
you have to think about this too, like the Raiders
are now a team in transition. There's a lot of questions.
They've already fired their offensive coordinator. What is the long
term viability as a head coach for Pete Carroll? What
is going to go on with this team? And the
Broncos are playing for the number one seed, competing there
(08:27):
with the New England Patriots, So I expect a huge
bounce back game or an opportunity here for the Broncos
to go out there and really make a statement at
Las Vegas this week, it's going to wideouts.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Marcus, who's your number one? Yeah? I know we usually
do stacks on stacks on Thursday.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
But how about a stack here with Dak Prescott and
George Pickens, who right now is the wide receiver two overall.
He's second in the NFL in receiving yards, behind just
Jackson Smith and Jigba.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Seven straight games with more.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Than seventy five receiving yards, five.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Straight games with six or more catches lost.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
The Lions have allowed a top three fantasy wide receiver
in back to back weeks. You could also maybe triplestack
this with a CD Lamb if you are so inclined,
But I George Pickins right now is just playing some
great football. He and Jack seem to be connecting. I
think he has a really nice night against Detroit.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Far and away the best receiver in the league. Against Man,
I think there's points in that Thursday game, and that's
why I'll go with the other wide receiver in Jamison Williams,
the home run hitter for the Detroit Lions, who's getting
more at bets and so when there's more at bets
against the Dallas Cowboys defense, they're gonna have to tackle Jmo,
and Jamo is going to break two of those and
probably have a long one against Dallas. So that is
(09:33):
my pick for the wide receiver one because he's had
more opportunity here as of late. Let's address the elephant
in the podcast room. That's because i'm on Ross Saint
Brown is out or was in the previous game. So
let's go to news in case you missed it. Because
it's the second day in a row with no arsb
who left the Lions Thanksgiving Day game in the first
quarter with a low ankle, spring some calls for optimism.
(09:55):
Dan Campbell said Aman Robin was doing better, has not
ruled him out for Thursday again against Dallas. So, Marcus,
how do fantasy managers approach this one when we get
a final status update? I think it's hard to sit
I'm on Ross Saint Brown.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
If he's playing for the Lions, he is playing for
your fantasy team just because they're going to find ways
to get him the football and see what he can
do after the catch. Now, yeah, if he's not one
hundred percent, obviously you sort of temper the expectations there.
But there's still the possibility that he goes big. Now,
I think what happens if he does not play. I
think he just sort of changes what they do with
Jamison Williams. I think he's less of the downfield explosive
(10:29):
threat and he's more kind of the underneath possession receiver.
But there's still plenty of targets to be had. But yeah,
keep an eye on on ours book, as you would
call him.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
If he plays, then I think you slide him in
the lineup.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Thanks, sat look's left Fyers down the left sideline into.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
The end zone. Here it is hey touchdown. It covers
nineteen yards in the backlop point of the end zone.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Kers score touchdown, dude, but they take the lead over
the Texans six to three.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Reality is a matter of perspective, and Marcus Grant is
providing his point of view for real or mirage where
we see if we can trust the things that we
saw in Week thirteen, and we saw after back to
back losses. It was back to back Mosses for Alec
Pierce getting two defenders in the end zone.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Is this performance real or was it a moura?
Speaker 4 (11:24):
I think this is real, And I feel like he's
sort of been under discussed at least for the last
several weeks because going back to Week seven, he's the
wide receiver twenty two overall, has more receiving yards in
that time than Michael Pittman, who's really been in the.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Midst of a major slump.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Here's four games with four more receptions and more than
seventy five yards in that time. Four top twenty four finishes,
all of them coming since Week seven.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
So if you're looking around for who.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
The pass catchers are in Indianapolis, Tyler Warren is still there,
But it seems like Michael Pittman, at least recently, as
they get a backseat to Alec Pierce.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Folks have been looking around in the loop box that
is Packers received and it turns out on fourth down
with the game on the line, Dontavian Wicks was the answer?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Was that real?
Speaker 4 (12:05):
M Apparently Dantavian Wicks with one shoe and he gotta
have it moment is real.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
But the rest of it, I think is a mirage.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
It's just the third time he's had more than four
targets in a game, first game this season with more
than forty five receiving yards. In fact, he hadn't top
fifty receiving yards since Week four of last season. This
is still a passing game that has focused very heavily
on Christian Watson, on Romeo Dobbs, so Dantavian Wicks. You know,
the the rouheat wheel landed on him for this week.
(12:33):
But I wouldn't count on this being a consistent thing
for Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
There's a bit of a career day for Blake Korum
and he did it on only seven carriers. Was the
explosiveness reel or mora?
Speaker 4 (12:46):
I think it was real And we're starting to see
Blake Corum get more opportunities. I mean, for a while
this has kind of been a one back offense. It
had been Kyron Williams, but we're starting to see more
and more Korum over the last few weeks.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Since Week seven of thirty three percent hit snapshare.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Maybe that doesn't blow you away, but forty percent of
the rushing attempts, fifty percent of the rushing attempts inside
the five. So when they're getting close, Korm is getting
those high leverage opportunities. And when he's super efficient, when
he breaks off a big run, then the upside the
ceiling gets a little bit higher. At least he should
be rostered as insurance. Whether or not you have Tyron
Williams or not. I think you should have Blake Korm
(13:21):
on your roster and certainly has standalone value. Talking about
a flex option if you're in a deeper league, say
fourteen or more teams.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
There all right, Marcus, before we go, we get one
more because the trade to the Jets has unlocked a
d Mitchell. He had his first career touchdown pass and
to Rod Taylor is the answer to his problems?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Was that real? Are we taking notes on it?
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Or was.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (13:45):
I think we're looking through jet fumes for this one.
It feels sort of mirage is now there are things
about it that do have an element of being real.
He's the deep threat there right, averaging over eighteen air
yards per target.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
But what makes it a.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Mirage is that performances like we saw on Sunday are
gonna be sort of boom or bust six catchable target
rate since he got to New York. That's not particularly great.
The other part of this is the Jets have been
the league's least productive passing offense and always helps when
the defender trips over his own feet and falls down.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Another thing you can count on on your regular basis.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
So I do think the targets are gonna be there,
and depending on the matchup, maybe the production is right.
But this is gonna be You know, if you're really
counting on ad Mitchell to get you through the Fantasy playoffs,
you may be left disappointed.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Yeah, a great source, and Steve Smith Senior with the
On on Sunday said, those are the hardest catches to
make where the defender falls down. It's you all buy
your sucker. It's also hard to find good spicy food
in certain locales.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Let's go over to Adam Run for some Waiver Wire
hot sauce. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Patrick. It is officially Tamala seas. I'm just jogging all
you cooks, it's always Tamala season. Now you just walk
up because it's close to Christmas sign You're like, now
you want no, that's why you got to go to
the back of the live. But We are sitting here
right now with four waiver wire prospects, with four different
flavor profiles. We started, Thank you, Chucky b We started
(15:08):
off with the mild, and I'm gonna go with ad Mitchell.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
Now.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
I know you heard the words of Marcus Grant, and
you have to realize Marcus is from north of Gilroy,
and when it comes to northern Californians, you cannot have
a rational conversation with them about subjects like Barry Bonds,
smash mouth and Mexican food.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
They're very It's very like we.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Just got yeah, okay, yeah, Barry Bonds is better than show. Hey,
whatever you say, and you just ignore them and you
move on. I am not going to ignore the fact
that ad Mitchell has been unlocked ever since he has
become a member of the New York Jets. He leads
the team in targets, yards, receptions, all that stuff, but
since a week eleven, he has four hundred and fifty
eight air yards, which is one of the biggest determinations
(15:51):
of trying to find long term success. Listen, I understand
I'm not going to start him over Poka Nakua, but
with Ricky Piersoll, with some other guys on a buy
this week, some injury possibilities. I think that ad Mitchell
needs to be on your roster. As a matter of fact,
I picked him up last week, didn't start him because
I'm an idiot, but still he deserves to be on
your team. All right, let's get spicy.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Let's get spicy. Sorry, check, I'll get you another one.
That one, you got it? Oh you missed. Sorry, let's
get spicy.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Let's go down to the home of Leonard Skinner, the
Players Championship and the Young Bucks. Although we do claim
him for the IE as well. Now it's not unusual
for me to profess my love for duo, but I
want to get a little strange, as in Brenton Strange,
who has been a very good addition for the Jacksonville
Jaguars this season. Last year, Evan Ingram was a big
(16:41):
part of this offense. He leaves, he goes to Denver,
but Brenton Strange, when he's available, has been one of
the most productive tight ends in all of fantasy football.
He's had ten Fantasy points in four of his last
five games, and now he's got a great matchup against
the Indianapolis Colts, who are in top five of the
most most generous teams to opposing tight ends. So he
(17:03):
is a definite plug in play this week. All right,
let's get three three alarm.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
We're going to go to Detroit.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
When you think of Detroit cuisine, what are what are
the three most famous things from Detroit? A diner with
a with a with the Bob's Big Boy, a square
pizza and a hot dog stand named after Coney Island.
Why is that?
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Why is that a Detroit thing? Why?
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Derek Stevens, Please tell me why. I've asked you plenty
of times. You don't have an answer, But that's okay.
They do have an answer though, for their problems if
they are without Aman Ross Saint Brown this week, and
it is going to be Isaac Tesla. Yes, Isaac Tesla
is one of those guys who popped during the preseason.
He kept an eye on him. But now there is
a real opportunity if Amon Ross Saint Brown is not
(17:47):
going to be playing this week and you need to
go out there and fill a spot in one of
your deeper leagues. Again, you're not going to be starting
him over one of your studs. But again with four
teams on it by with some injury situations, Derek, be
an opportunity for you to get Isaac Teslah into the
lineup in what I anticipate being one of the highest
scoring games of the week. And remember they do play
(18:08):
on Thursday, so you're going to make that decision right Hell, Theavlo.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
That went that got away from us, diabolical.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Things are happening down in a New Orleans and Devon
Veley has really started to emerge down there is one
of the top receiving options for them. You know, we
came into a season where we thought Alvin Kamarat when
we didn't think, but we knew Alvin Kamara and Kris
Lave their time was going to be rather short. They're
going to start looking on and looking towards the future.
We've talked about Devin Neil a great deal during this space,
(18:36):
but Devon Beley has been a pretty good option over
the last couple of weeks. He's had at least seven
targets in back to back games, and he's going up
against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been very generous
who opposing wide receivers over the course of this season.
And that is your waiver wire hot sauce per Week fourteen.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Good luck as you make your.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Final push for the playoffs. Coming up next on NFL Fantasy,
we have got a lot of great stuff for you.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Patrick Mahomes, is.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
It time to face reality on him, Lamar Jackson and
some of your other bigger stars. We're gonna have some
real talk, some real conversations, and a reality check. Coming
up next, we're back.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
On the NFL Fantasy Line.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
The twenty twenty six Pro Bowl Vote presented by Jersey
Mike's is open and the roster is up to you
now through December fifteenth. Cast your ballot and honor the
players who dominated this season. Don't wait, go to Pro
Bowl dot Com slash vote today. Let's take a look
at some of the easiest fantasy schedules for the next
few weeks. Daniel Jones, Dak Prescott, Willis Allowin hopeful we're
(19:45):
bounced back for say quality, you might get it considering
the schedule.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
We're talking easy schedules because.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
We're gonna do a fantasy reality check here on Fantasy Line.
Because you know that guy that's like people don't like
me because I keep it real, but he's actually just
a jerk. We're gonna do do it the real way here,
We're gonna keep it real with some real truth. It's
going to help your fantasy football season. On the positive side, Marcus,
let's start off with the people.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
Well, Jacoby Brissett is going to win someone, probably multiple someone's,
a fantasy championship, which is not a sentence I don't
think anybody expected.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
To say at the beginning of the season.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
Since he took over as the starter in Arizona, he's
been the QB three, averaging twenty one and a half
fantasy points per game, three hundred and twelve passing yards,
thirteen touchdown passes. Now, look, he's got some tough matchups
in the next couple of weeks. He's got the Rams,
he's got the Texans, but favorable matchups against the Falcons
and the Bengals to in the fantasy playoffs. And on
top of it, because the Cardinals can't run the football
(20:40):
percent is throwing the ball on average forty three times
per game.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
He's James Harden.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
He's a volume shooter, and he's in buckets at this
point too. So if you got Jecoby Brissett, do you
have a serious look, because he could be the guy
that helps you win a title this year.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
That's what hard truth are all about, is rough news
for Cardinals and the fans that they can't run the ball.
Fantasy managers with Jacoby, things were looking good once you
got right.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
You know, very similar because I have Jacoby Brissett in
one of my leagues and I had dropped him for
this guy, but it's turned out to be a pretty
streamable option. And I'm talking about Bryce Young. Bryce Young
has had some epic performances in recent weeks, and it
always seems to come against the teams that you don't
expect it, like when he was playing the Falcons a
couple of weeks ago. Back at that moment, the Falcons
(21:24):
had a pretty formidable defense. You're like, I don't know
if I want to start him against this, and then
he goes out and destroys him, and then he would
have a favorable matchup against like the Saints or somebody
and then disappear. Then he's got the Rams, the Rams,
who everybody was saying was the best team in the NFL,
one of the bright young defenses in the league, and
he goes out there and tortues him. I think it's
(21:46):
one of those situations where if you were in a
spot where you need a quarterback and you're like, I've
got to make a decision. I think the decision is
positive on Bryce Young. Some bad weeks are going to happen,
it just the way that football goes. But I think
ultimately he's shown to be a pretty decent NFL quarterback
and he can take advantage of certain fantasy matchups. You
got to play him.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Yeah, My truth is going to be within the same
division as the Carolina Panthers, and it's for those who
were able to get the successful part of the Bucky
Irving season last year.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Congratulations.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
It's going to happen again down the stretch for the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, far and away the leader on the
ground against the Cardinals, he was targeted on twenty percent
of his routes. And so if you were patient, or
if you went and had and traded to somebody who
was tired of waiting on Bucky Irving, congratulations, Because they're
in the division for the rest of the season, and
then when they're not, they're in Florida playing the Miami Dolphins.
(22:37):
So it's going to happen again. That's the upcoming schedule
for them. Let's take a look at some more upcoming
schedules as we flip to the other side and get
some tough truth that are a little more difficult to hear,
because for Patrick Mahomes, Caleb Williams, R. J. Harvey, Brice Hall,
you had some brief bright spots. For the Jets, things
may go the other directions. So what's going to be
(22:59):
tough for the people to hear?
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Right?
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Well, I think for everybody who is a fan of
the Chicago Bears, you love the success the team has had,
and everybody's celebrating, and they've had some great wins, But
is the fantasy production going to be sustainable? Because they
are becoming very difficult to get a real handle on now. Obviously,
if you started either one of the running backs last
week against the Philadelphia Eagles, you benefited because both of
(23:22):
them run for over one hundred and twenty yards. But
that's not going to happen every week. And similarly, with
the wide receiver position, it's getting more difficult to content
with as well, because we see right there Colston Lovelin
is becoming a big factor in this team. We see
right there there he is again and they've gotten the
Dj Moore, you know Dj Moore, Roman Dunes. You don't
(23:43):
really know who's going to step up. They spread the
ball around a lot, so it's great for fans of
the team, not so great for fantasy managers trying to
figure out who is the guy to go to week
in and week out.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
At least yours has a bright side. Hey, Marcus, what's her?
A tough reality check?
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Patrick, I take no pleasure in saying this, but at
this point, Lamar Jackson is not a slam dunk start
at quarterback.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I mean, you drafted him expecting as much.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
In the first few weeks it looked to be that,
but since he's come back from injury, he just.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Has not looked like the Lamar Jackson were used to.
Seeing three straight games with fewer than seven.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
And a half fantasy points, has not had a touchdown
pass since Week ten, and the rushing upside that we
all love has just not been there. Fewer than thirty
rushing yards and four of his last five games. So
you look around if you've got another option, and this
is a say, hey, you know, don't don't hit me
up with these Should I start shoulder standards.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Over Lamar Jackson. No, don't do that. But you know, look,
bo Nicks, you're a golf trivor Lawrence.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Those some of the quarterbacks that this week I feel
like have a little bit more upside than Lamar Jackson
right now is in the.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Midst of a really major slump.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
You're fine, Patrick start.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
I've got some bad news on a quarterback as well,
at least based on a trend.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
It's Sam Darnold.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
I'm sorry to all the fans of Sam Clemente, but
the past few weeks he's had under a seventy passer
rating in two of the last three games.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Next up, he's got the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Which you know, I know it's a quantum superposition on
whether or not the Falcons defense is going to be good.
The Colts and back to the Rams, where he's had
a bit of a streak on multiple teams on having
rough games. I'm not saying to punt on Sam Donald.
Just the hot streak, the incendiary streak that Sam Donald
was on for the first ten weeks of the season
might not be coming back any time soon. So those
(25:30):
are our fantasy reality chicks right here on the show.
But you know, reality can be a little difficult. Sometimes
sometimes you gotta do the math and sort it out,
and sometimes the math isn't mathing. So we're gonna look
at some scenarios where we see the numbers. We've looked
at the numbers. We don't necessarily believe the numbers, right,
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
If you're sitting there and looking at your fantasy lineup,
you're like, oh man, I have to start Wandale Robinson
this week. You should be delighted. I know, like your
initial thought, it's like, now, I good. Wandale Robinson is
the wide receiver ten for the season. Going into this week,
he was the wide receiver eleven. He actually gained spot.
He gained a spot this week. On that game that
(26:13):
you were watching. If you were not watched, don't front.
Don't act like you watched when that thing was seventeen nil.
You guys bounced, You're watching Ted Lasso reruns, you're watching
kids playing Minecraft on YouTube. Don't act like you are
watching that game. But Wandale Robinson is the wide receiver ten.
And again, a lot of this is going to be
contingent on what we're gonna do with what's gonna happen
(26:34):
with Jackson dart over the next couple of weeks is again,
they're not going to be running Jackson dart On designed runs.
Maybe they'll let him throw a little bit, try to
get that part of his game going. But Wandale Robinson
wide Receiver ten, I just it doesn't make sense no
matter how many times I look at it.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
I probably should have watched the Minecraft videos because I
built a janky cabin while my kid built.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
A whole zoo.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Meanwhile, there's Jake Ferguson, and if you look at it,
you're like, oh, he's the tight end three.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
But see really, I mean we's.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
Won through seven were great, average over seventeen Fantasy points
per game. These six touchdowns helped a lot because when
you dig into it, he was below fifty receiving yards
in five of those seven games that he played. Since then,
the touchdowns have dried up just one touchdown since Week eight.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
He's been to tighten nineteen.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Since then, averaging thirty four receiving yards of games. So
while George Pickens and Ceedee Lamb have been phenomenal, while
Javonte Williams continues to be effective in the backfield, Jake
Ferguson's been the forgotten man in his Dallas offense.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
So don't let that te three next to his name
fool you.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
It's been really tough going in at this point, you
might be better off just streaming another tight end.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
Well.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
One way, the numbers, especially in terms of position wreckings,
can be a little misleading.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Justin Jefferson is the wide.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Receiver eighteen for the season, and he's been falling back.
In a couple of rough games for the Minnesota Vikings.
Things got bad. Folks were like, oh, let's see what
Max Brozmer has. The answer was not very much, but
upcoming it's the Washington Commanders, the Dallas Cowboys, and then
the Giants. I don't think Justin Jefferson is gonna stay
the wide receiver ate thing. I think JJ McCarthy comes back,
(28:10):
he gets loaded up with targets and you get more
points for a guy you drafted in the top five,
top three.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Maybe some of you took JJ at number one.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Overall, those were that's us doing the math, which is
sometimes difficult.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Just two days away from the start of the final
week of the fantasy regular season, it's a primetime showdown
between two of the most exciting offenses in football. Cowboys
Lions Thursday Night Football at eight fifteen pm Eastern only.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
On Prime Video.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Time.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Now for my five, and as they just mentioned, it
is the.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Final week of the fantasy regular season, which means playoff
spots are up for grabs, and so to that, Vein
got my five guys who could help you get into
the fantasy playoffs. These are guys who maybe popped a
little bit in Week thirteen and can keep that momentum
going into Week fourteen. So we'll start at number five
with Cortland Sutton. He's been quiet since an early season explosion,
(29:05):
just thirty five receiving yards per game since Week seven,
but came back to life a little bit last week
where a touchdown against the Washington Commanders and still the
top option and was becoming an increasingly diverse passing tree
there in Denver. But Las Vegas Raiders a top five
matchup for wide receivers this season, seventh most yards allowed
to outside receivers. At number four, it's Derrick Henry, and
(29:28):
I know, I know, I have warned about Henry's decline,
but he has posted better fantasy numbers over the last
few weeks. He's been over one hundred scrimmage yards in
two of his last three games, seventeen or more fantasy
points in three straight.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Including two of those where he went over twenty. Steelers
defense on the run has had.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Highs and lows, but a major low last week against
the Buffalo Bills when they just got run over. Plus
with Lamar Jackson's slumping, Ravens could be a little bit
more run heavy as they try to get this offense going.
At number three, yeah, it's Kyle Pitts.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
He saw small.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Boost in targets without Drake London, but his role mostly
remains the same regardless of who's there or who is it.
Even if London is able to play this week, the
matchup is just too good. Four Pits tight ends averaging
sixteen and a half fantasy points per game against the
Seattle Seahawks. Nine tight ends have had a top twelve
weekly finish. You never really know when the big Kyle
Pitts games are coming. This feels like a good opportunity
(30:22):
for him to have one. At number two, it is
Chase Brown. He's been a completely different player since Week seven.
Since that time, he is the RB seven fourth among
running backs and receiving yards eight in rushing yards. The
only thing that's been missing this season for Brown has
been the touchdowns. That could change this week going against
the Buffalo Bills, who've given up eighteen or rushing touchdowns
(30:43):
most in the NFL. So finally, this could be the
week to Chase Brown visits the Painted Area and at
number one.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Jared Goff.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
We talked about the matchup with the Cowboys, and golf
has been passable most weeks, averaging is just shy of
nineteen fantasy points. Of the low point it was the
twelve points he scored against the Eagles in Week eleven,
but eight games with multiple touchdown passes this year, the
Cowboys a twelve to two touchdown with the interception ratio
since Week eight. They've also given up a top ten
quarterback in four of the last five games. By the
(31:14):
way that I mentioned this could be a track meet
Jared Goff being indoors in Detroit, it was like a
good play for fantasy managers. There you go, my five
guys who could get you to the fantasy playoffs, and
I measgine if you get to the playoffs, fans, you'll
be pretty chill about things.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Well, No, I would love to get in the fantasy
football playoffs, Marcus. But it's not happening. And that's because
the players that I put into my lineup at their
own best, they're the ones suggesting that they play all
the time, do not want to score fantasy football points
for me. And I continually lose. And I am looking
right down there in South Florida at Jalen Waddle, and
I can hear the excuses already. Oh, Oh, why can't
(31:51):
Mike Matt give me the ball more creative ways? Oh
why did Tua throw me a hot air balloon that
would ultimately be picked off by kool aid mckensry. Those
are excuses that do not work in this house, Jalen,
because you're.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
Supposed to go up there and fight for that ball
with one hand and bring it back in and get
me fantasy ports. This is about an opportunity for you
to throw some house, throw some stones in the glasshouse sometimes.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Oh nah, man, this guy's trying so hard down there
to make this work. I understand your frustration. Over the
last couple of weeks. It's not been great. He's had
one hundred receiving yards only once in his last twenty
six And I get it. You're frustrated, but you gotta
look at the bigger picture. Patrick, like he's got remaining
(32:36):
games against some of the most favorable matchups you can imagine.
All you gotta do is calling into the surf report
like I used to do with Rock and Fig all
the time, and realized the forecast is super tasty when
you look at matchups against the Steelers, the Bengals, and
then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Man, you gotta let by
(33:00):
gones be by gones. It has been good the last
couple of weeks. Man, I'm not gonna lie to you,
but I'm also gonna tell you it's gonna be so epic, dude.
So when it comes to my guy, Jayalen Waddle, you
gotta cheer, bruh. I should know.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
I gotta seen my expectations properly. Yeah, Jaalen, I'm sorry
for what I said. It's not like you're the wide
receiver one in all of fantasy football right now, and
I'm thinking, oh yeah, JSN is gonna go here, I
guess this fuckings defense and go off. He's been running
through secondaries loops all season and now we get to
this point and you give me four point three fantasy points.
(33:37):
This is clearly a sign.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
That you have targeted me. I don't care what Sam's doing.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
You have targeted me for I have to coffee right there.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Brah.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Now you've you've stepped way over the line. Man. This
has been one of the most consistent guys of all time,
especially this season. He's been so good week in week out.
Guys absolutely consistent. You like the guy who last week.
I was sitting there at Cassidy's. He was complaining about
(34:08):
his Cassidys burger, getting mad at Marty, and I'm like, listen, broh, Like,
this guy has put out some of the best burgers
of all time. I'm sorry that you got a bad one.
It's just a random coincidence. It just sometimes happens here
in the world. Man like it. I'm sorry that it
happened to you, But it happened. It's not gonna happen again.
(34:30):
This guy has come through time and time again. And
I know my boy, Sam Clemente Darnold understand your frustration.
He's gonna go out there and make it right for you.
So I'm telling you right now, when it comes to JSN,
you gotta chip bruh.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
That makes so much sense. I don't even know what
I was so angry about Jackson. My apologies. I look
forward to what you'll do in week fourteen.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Isaiah about jack.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
What what was the point of all of this?
Speaker 3 (35:07):
You get five point.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Three fantasy points, you still don't get carries on the
goal line. Travis Kelsey fights Andy Reid with his fists
every single year.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
He still gets targets.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
In the red zone.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
What are you doing there in Kansas City to make
everybody hate you so much? But I'm starting to feel it, Isaiah.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
I'm starting to feel it, and I don't want to
hear any.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Disagreement, because, hey, hey, what's your problem, Bud. I'm not
talking about you Patrick. I'm talking about you, Isaiah Pacheck.
It thank you like you're supposed to come out, dude
and dominate. All we've heard about in the last couple
of years is how great the Chiefs offense is and
how angry your feet are when you're out there running. Well,
let me tell you something right now, dude, you're out
(35:46):
there thrashing around on your board. You come out with
his angro aggression. You know what, you can take that
stuff up to La. This is orange County. We're all
chilled down here. Nobody comes out here with that agro
aggression and just trying to get all thrash and dropping
in on people and doing whatever. Like if that's the
way you're gonna be, just let b Rashard Smith go
out there and drop in on you, fool, because like,
I'm getting sick and tired of every time you going
(36:09):
in my lineup and just not producing. That's on you,
that's not on me. I should have known better, and
I probably should have played Blake Krum but whatever, dude,
Like what happened happened, and I needed you to come
three for me and you didn't do it. Man, Like this,
this leads a bad taste in my mouth. And I know,
like Andy Raid will be out there and be like, hey,
we're looking at the bigger picture. No, the bigger picture, bro,
(36:30):
is my fantasy team. Like I'm I don't like to
get I don't like to get worked up like this,
but you push me to the edge, bro.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
And it's the Texas next week.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
But despite that, No, don't tweet Isaiah pa check It
or anybody you know, be chill when it comes to
being a fantasy manager.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
More to car right man, I gotta way.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
I understand. Sometimes you just get a little sadways, so
things get things yet rough.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
We take a break here, but when we come back,
reinforcements are arriving just in time for the stretch run,
a look at the players returning from injury and just

(37:31):
our research team uses to crown the cardio King each week,
and Week thirteen's honors go to not Justin Jefferson, but
you Marry DK.
Speaker 6 (37:40):
He was tracked by NNGS running one three hundred and
fifty eight yards around Nissan Stadium Sunday, close to four
hundred more than JJ and his final stat line was
one rushing yard, one catch, eight yards and.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
A fumble negative one point point zero one fantasy I
couldn't I'm looking at the number. I couldn't even believe
it makes sense. Negative point one fantasy points. You would
have been better off flexing Seahawks third string running back
Miles Gaskin, who got.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
Six yards on the day. Oh well, Jamari d k
at least you got your cardio in.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
So the Cardio King of the Week is heavily involving
stats and information, but it's not for no stats, just vibeses.
We're just gonna vibe out here for the rest of
this blog, Marcus Graant, no.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Stats, just vibes. How do you feel about Week fourteen?
Speaker 4 (38:28):
Uh? I feeling like Daniel Jones is going to mid
you out of the playoffs because right now he's sort
of living and done really terrible nether world for fantasy managers,
where you know, obviously, when he's playing really well, like
he was early in the season, you know to start him.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
If he's playing really badly, you know to bench him.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
But right now he's sort of hovering in that little
world of like fifteen to sixteen points, which like isn't awful,
but it's not really great.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
It's not really exciting.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
And so now you're looking at Daniel Jones in your
lineup and you're doing the head scratching.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
Thing about do I start him? Do I start this
other guy I have on the bench, Like what do
I do?
Speaker 4 (38:59):
And then you're gonna start Dan Jones is gonna get
you sixteen points and you're gonna end up losing by
like a point and a half somewhere along the line.
So like, I just either either be good or be bad.
Make the decision, little easy ones, Danny, please, that's all
I'm asking.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Yeah, my decision this week. I understand I feel you
on the Daniel Jones thing, but my decision this week
is being who is going to be my running back?
Speaker 3 (39:19):
Too?
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Because I didn't really plan well enough for this. I'm
one of those I'm I'm the king of Like I
don't pay attention to the bye weeks when I'm drafting
or doing anything like that. So I've got Christian McCaffrey
and Rico o'dondell on a buy when I'm trying to
clinch the number one seat of my league of record,
and so I'm like, I'm gonna go with Chris Rodriguez,
and I know that it's kind of like a three
headed backfield there in Washington. We really don't know who
(39:41):
the starting quarterback is going to be. Is it gonna
be Jaden Daniels this week? What is going on? But
just watching the games over the last couple of weeks,
I just feel like Chris Rodriguez is the best of
these running backs just from just watching it, like it's
I don't know if the statistics back it up. I
didn't even ask Kendall like I would normally do it,
like is this I just was like, I'm going for it.
I'm just I'm gone Chris Rodriguez and see what happens
(40:04):
and hope for the best.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
And sometimes it's that guy who hasn't gotten a lot
of opportunity earlier on in the season, especially at running back,
where you get a chance to be healthy late, and
also guys who were out and actually waited to come
back and be healthy.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
We saw Aaron Jones reaggravate the shoulder injury.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
To me, what that says is the shoulder was still hurt, right,
And so somebody like Terry McLaurin who has actually come
back and healthy, they can produce early and it's not
just scary Terry like Jayden Daniels or Marion Hampton, Garrett
Wilson will building back, Mike Evans coming back, Jayden Reid
will come back and make your Packers wide receiver discussion
more difficult to cipher out. But there's still gonna be
(40:42):
points available from these guys and they're gonna help you,
and you're push for the playoffs and maybe in the
playoffs here in twenty twenty five. So those are our
no stats, Jess Voz, why do we celebrate with victory Tuesday?
As we look through your tails of victory? First stuff
comes from Sancho and Marcus. He had Rice and see
Lamb won three straight to get right back in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
I mean, it's pretty great to have Rice and Lamb
on Thanksgiving. It seems to work out pretty well for you.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Let's go to this one for you, Rick, both Bears
running backs by Kensational.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Yeah, you did a great game plan by Ben Johnson,
really authoritative. Take it to them and curious to see
how they approached this with Green Bay this week last year,
last year. When you look at the offensive line the
Bears went with last year in Week eighteen in a
game they won, and look at it compared to this one.
I don't know if Green Bay's ready for what the
Bear's goning. It's really good. Things are going great.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Cody wit Marcus at the Seahawks d and Jason myerstack
for forty seven points.
Speaker 4 (41:38):
I see you should also give an assist to Max Brosmer,
who had a lot to do with that Seahawks defense
put up the numbers they did.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
Yeah, congratulations to Max on a wicked I'm sure he'll
love to remember. Rizzy Pears hugged out the defense rank
up for Is this coward lee or something we should celebrate?
Speaker 2 (41:54):
Don't don't fear the riz. You know what, this is
what you should be doing. You should like buddy when
the team's take a knee, nobody calls him a coward, like,
oh look at that. Not running plays and no, of
course not defenses, especially defenses so volatile. You might as
well take all take away all the risks. I'm with you.
I would have done the same thing, like something crazy
(42:15):
could have happened, all right, celebration for Rizzy Fears.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Brent had picked up Harold Fannon in a great spot market.
Speaker 4 (42:21):
I'm assuming you also played Harold fans just picking him
up and having him on the bench does nothing for you.
So I'm going to assume that you left out an
important step in that process.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
He put him in the lineup, but he got the points.
One from bones. He took Jefferson out for Washington. We've
been having a discussion about which Washington it was. Either
way it probably would have been better. But he feels
good knowing he made the right decision.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Yeah, that was that was a that was a gutsy
call to take Justin Jefferson out.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
Malik Washington was was the top scorer in Washington. He
outscored Parker Washington by three points. Here would have been
could have been anybody. Yeah, honestly, not a lot of
points for Justin Jefferson. I think he bounces back. Thanks
for tuning in to the Fantasy Live edition of the
Fantasy Football Podcast. Marcus Florial and l Q will be
back in your feed tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (43:05):
Wow MHM.
