Speaker 1 (00:10):
Hey everybody, It's Monday, December fifteenth, twenty twenty five. Welcome
to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. We're ready to spit
hot fire. It's me and your man named g Marcus
Grand joined by Michael F. Florio and Laqwan Jones, and
happy victory Monday. All three of our teams pulled out wins.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
I'm never happy when it's all three of us though,
to be honest, just saying, because you're.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Never happy anyway, like like, you know.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I'm really happy now you see the shirt. It's victory
money for sure.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
When the Rams win, you find a way to nitpick
at it, like something wasn't right.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
I did that once. I did that against Baltimore, which
we know that game was bad, like we shouldn't have
won that game.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Or you're beefing with other fans.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yes, that is correct. Very I'm outside. I'm barking bringing
the ship.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Just you can't just enjoy like you thought me, like
not taking L's like you don't take w's.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
That's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yea. The Rams win, the Niners win, the Bills win,
Florio in incredibly dramatic fashion.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
You were you were literally the meme of like not
go lie.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
They had us in the first half, like that was
the Bills on Sunday, But you know, Joshi to the
rescue and they come and they pull it out.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, And so I want, I want to take a
second to address these Patriots fans that have been in
my mentions and I'm seeing online because look, I was
told all week that this man on my shirt, Drake May,
is the best quarterback in the division.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
And look, I've been on Drake May since before Patriots
fans were on Drake May.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
But I do want to apologize to them because everything
they're saying is true. Right, Like, it wasn't the special
teams and their defense getting cooked. It wasn't Josh and
James being the second best player. The best players down
the stretch are May air matling throws and failing to
secure his first ever career fourth quarter comeback. It was
the reps, like we all saw when that booty catch

(02:06):
touched the turf that led to a scoring drive and
not a punt, or when they put two seconds back
on the clock after it malfunctioned, that they were rigging
it for the Bills.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
And look, sure.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Your fans provided old take exposed with a decade.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Worth of receipts. But it wasn't your fault that a
day that you were so confident would end in hats
and t shirts ended in tears and excuses.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
And yes, everything you're saying, this is the Bill's super Bowl.
It is why Josh and James in the first half
were screaming at the other sideline. It is why they
went live on Instagram after the game, dancing and celebrating
because it was one team Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
And that was clearly the Bills.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
So congrats, you guys proved that either you win or
it's rigged. And sorry about Josh stealing Drake's MVP shine
because he ain't getting it.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Oh so there's so much time, Yes, there was so
much there.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Sweating has just been filled.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
And like it's not just bands, like I'm seeing Mike
Rabral was blaming the refs. You blew a twenty one
oh lead. If you blame the refs, you have no
one to blame but the man looking back. And and
we're gonna talk about Trebon. He is a dog and
you guys should have been using him all year. You're
gonna blame the refs for that too.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Mm bars always remembers when you point the finger, three
are pointing back at you. That's just the thing that was.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Four fingers. Good job. Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I would say this because you were probably on the
Josh Allen side of things, because you were not because
you wanted the Bills to win. You just you want
you want to push Drake May off the stage. That's
kind of all. I mean.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Drake May is on a different stage. He's on the
whole different night. I mean, look, this is not one
of those like what is it the Rager Knights where
you have like three different stages. Drake May is not
even in the ballpark. He's not even on the card.
He's not even the big print name when it comes
to MVP because there's only one name on the card
and that's Matthew Stafford Jonathan Taylor.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
This isn't even offensive player of the here MVP votes
pushing a certain player.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Did you guys know that Jordan Love is third in
MVP vote right now? Like, where did that come from?
Is that the toyota than promoting that, Well, he got
knocked out after this weekend.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
It probably got but he was playing Joash is legitimately
the biggest competition for Stafford.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Now this isn't me saying it. Bro he played Do
Do the entire month of November. What are we talking about,
bro In head to head I.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Do, I will go don't. Don't have that kind of
on the show. We got stuff to do on the
show here today we're gonna we're talking about Philip Rivers
after what he he saw or what we saw from him,
I guess against the Seattle Seahawks. We'll have some players
playoff Week one heroes and villains. Also, I don't know
some other things that I half asked on the rundown

(05:11):
and didn't finish. But we'll do some job Zone, We'll
do some Waiver wire stuff. Look, I got distracted yesterday.
The kid wanted to play Minecraft. It was a whole thing. Anyway.
We start with some news headlines though, and there were
some really big news headlines coming out of the Sunday
of Week fifteen, maybe the biggest one. Patrick Mahomes has
torn his acl in the loss to the Chargers that

(05:32):
also officially knocked the Chiefs out of playoff contention. So
for the first time in a decade, the Kansas City
Chiefs will not be around for the postseason. And now
we have questions about how long until we see Patrick
Mahomes on a football field again. The early speculation probably
not until the middle of next season. I would suspect

(05:54):
Gardner Minshew came in threw a pick that ended whatever
little hope Kansas City had. But the question Florio is
does this mean we are done with Kansas City Chiefs
in fantasy in twenty twenty five?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
We're done with all of them except for maybe two.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Like I still do think Rashid Rice because the way
they utilize him can be like I have him.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
On a couple of teams that are going to be.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Playing for a semi final, and I'm going to be
starting him more than likely. I haven't like sat down
and set my lineup for next week yet, but I.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Envision that I will. He had a lot of targets yesterday.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
I will say defenses are figuring out that the Chiefs
just run him in the same routes over.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
And over again on third down, and it's why he's
been getting opt the last two weeks.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
But because of his catch and run ability and everything,
I still do think he could be in play. And
then Travis Kelce I went back and forth on if
I want to have him as a sitter, not next week,
but with tight end being what it is and the
fact that, I mean Kelsey still had what I think
like twelve or thirteen targets yesterday, like that probably keeps
him in play unless he just comes out now and it's.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Like, yeah, I'm done as well, but I don't expect that.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
So, uh, those are the only two chiefs that I
think you can consider moving forward in fantasy.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, it's it's brutal, and maybe this isn't the conversation
for today, but I think there is a conversation about
kind of where we're drafting those guys next year, depending
on who the starting quarterback is, Like I don't know
if maybe it's going to be Gardner Minshew. Maybe they
go out and you know, find a stop gap measure
to kind of get them through however long it's going

(07:28):
to be. But I think once we get more clarity
on that, I think it's going to.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Be worth I'm going to call today on December fifteenth,
Patrick Mahome is going to be out there week one, you.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Think, so, huh?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I mean that boy got a different type of money. Yeah,
the rehabit, they.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Might have different type of money, you have different type
of ligaments.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Maybe not, but I mean Philip Rivers showed us that
you don't have to be the most mobile to play QB.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Like I only we'll get running Patrick. I kind of
wanted Rivers to kind of move a little bit out
of the pocket. We're going to talk.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
About that in a bit though. We'll talk about that second.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Like Joe Burrow played the next year right after, I
don't remember when exactly he to.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I know there's different timelines.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
But early in the season that I think gives you
a chance nine months to be out there.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
If I'm not I might be wrong, but I think
the first four weeks is when Burrow tour his aco
and then that's when he came back earlier in the season,
and I think that was the speculation that offseason if
he was coming back, and he did so. I think
the timeline for Mahomes is a little bit more like
at least the first couple of weeks he's gonna miss.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I did see people putting out this like nine month timeline, Yeah,
exactly after it happened, which again we'll put you into
mid September, so maybe he does week one, Uh might
be tight.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
But you know you want him out there Week one
is the thing to the other parts about Adrian Peterson.
He was made in a lib obviously he was liked.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
He had adamantium bones, Like I don't know, there's something
different about it.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
I sh'll guarantee, but we're gonna hear all the entire
summer conversation is going to be is he going to
be ready for week.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
One or not? Well, I'm saying it now December fifteenth,
twenty twenty five. I'm fading all chiefs fast catchers like
I have no interest in whatsoever in a worthy of
race or whoever they add through to draft, Like Kelsey,
he's likely right off the sunset. So there's that. So
like what are we looking at in twenty twenty six?
Like the run game sucks, but Checko is not getting

(09:33):
over two yards per carry at this point, He's going
to hunt. He's cooked. Like That's why I'm like this
entire team is like not fantasy like interesting for me
in twenty six at least, like where we look at
my homes, Like yeah, I'll take the dart on him
in like past the twelfth round. I mean, honestly, if
you go in two quarterbacks like most of us do.
But I don't. I don't see much for me to

(09:55):
be interested in.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah, I mean, they're going to have a complete overhaul
this off season, I think offensive. Yeah, it's gonna look
really different next year.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
And Oldell Beckham's music, Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah, one of these disgruntled wide receivers, don't We're not
We're not doing the OBJ.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Is that DeAndre Hopkins?

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Yeah, no, he's he's in. He's already gone to Tennessee,
which is generally the rest home in Baltimore. Yeah. Yeah,
so I don't know, speaking of wide receivers, old wide receivers.
Definitely something that was noteworthy DeAndre Hawkins. Devonte Adams reaggravated
his hamstring injury against the Lions and he was forced

(10:36):
to leave the game, and the early reports from Sean
mcvayor that it does not look good, that it looks
very unlikely that he will play on Thursday night. Beyond that,
we're still not sure. But I'm gonna ask you, Lakwan
obviously is the rams Homer among us? Who's the next
man up? I mean, obviously we know Puka is gonna
get eleven dy billion targets, but when Matthew Stafford decides

(10:59):
to throw a change up and not throw it to Puka,
who gets some of those targets.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
So I actually haven't sat down and looked at the
time of when Adams went out and like who became
the secondary third target of that offense. But I'm hoping
a guy like too tou Iwa, who's back that made
an amazing catch that we thought hit the ground or
he stepped out of balance. No, he caught that and
kept the drive alive. And I think him being a
deep threat and having the chemistry with Matthew Stafford in
previous seasons that we've seen him make clutch catches I

(11:26):
mean third and twelve, I mean fourth down, like tou two,
has the reliability that Stafford can trust. But I'm not
ready for fantasy to say, hey, we can put him
at the flex, we can put him as a wide
receiver too. Just based on that, we know this is
going to be a hyper focus offense. Based on Pooka Nakua,
and I think Pooka with the cramps it scared some folks,
but at the end of the day, we already know
Dad's strength is real and Puka is a bully So

(11:49):
I look at this as you gotta have to rock
with Puka and that's it because I don't really have
my faith in Jordan Whittington. I don't have my faith
in the Terrence Ferguson or too too. I well and
starting lineups for semi finals.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
No, no, no, can Mumpfield No.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Uh see the catch he almost made, man, I mean,
if Monk came down with that, that would be like
one of the generational catches for a rookie because it's
just like he he had his hands on it. I
wish he came down with it. I don't know if
you know what I'm talking about, but if you know,
you know, But Monk can play. I think he needs
more opportunity. It's just like, is he going to push
Xavier Smith with two two houra Jordan Winnington to decide

(12:27):
for you know, some full time duty with Davante Adams out.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Also, you talk about generational catches for a rookie, you know,
you know the Odell catch happened his rookie year.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yes, I said, one of, not the one of just.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Making just making sure we're clear on that. That's all. Also,
Christian Watson suffered a chest injury. Left the game on Sunday,
although the reports this morning Monday morning were that maybe
it's not as serious as originally feared. It's still no
timeline on how much he will be out, or if
he will be out at all. I see a lot

(13:04):
of stuff from packer folks that maybe Matthew Golden now
is if Watson has to miss time, he's the guy
next in line to kind of take over a lot
of those routes. I mean, Florida, are you buying into
it maybe being Matthew Golden season if we don't have
Christian Watson.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
So I will say I was watching that game because
I have Christian Watson in a couple of fantasy leagues
and one of which is.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Coming down to today, one of which I lost.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
By less than two points. I'm like, if Watson was
out there, I win that game. But watching it, like
Matthew Golden did get utilized a lot after Christian Watson
went down.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
The issue is Jayden Reid, who is back now?

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Right?

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Was their top target?

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Yes, Romeo Dobbs was still playing the most routes out there. Still,
to me, Golden at best is like he might have
the highest ceiling of the three of them, But I
still can't sit here with certainty and tell you, like, yes,
go get Matthew Golden to get him in your lineup.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
He's like a deeper league play someone.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
I want to say, like, if this was the middle
of the season, I'd be like, go get Matthew Golden
right now.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
But in the Fantasy semifinals, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
I'm not confident enough at least to put my season
on the line in something as not that we don't
know enough about yet with this packers room because we
haven't seen this packers room yet without Watson and with
Reid out there and stuff like that. So yeah, I'm
not to me, it's kind of like a deeper dart.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Throw type of play. There's upside though.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
They're just they're just kind of cursed to not have
all their guys together for an extended period of time.
Like it's just apparently it just can't either Read's hurt
or Watson's hurt, or I mean just they just can't
seem to keep all these dudes together for a long
stretch of time. It's it's wild.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
My issue with Golden is is that he's not a
full time wide receiver like he's still not playing fifty
percent of the snaps or even sixty what Jayden Reid
came in off the stretcher. So it's like, I don't
know if I can even go out there and say
like it's a rely, you know, wide receiver you could
put into your flex like how Floria was saying, like
it's one of those deeper Darth throws, Like I have
a league where I have so many flex spots, like

(15:08):
I see myself probably throwing Golden in one of those
where it's like I have to, I have no other
option the waiver wires dry, you know, Like I know,
some folks have held on to Matthew going for a
very really long time because again, he has the talent,
he's in a situation where the quarterback play is above average.
But it's just like he's not a full time wide
receiver yet. So we have yet see that happen at

(15:29):
all this season, even when given when Watson was out
or even when jaydenreen was out, like he just wasn't
that tight. It was either Romeo Dobs or took a
craft when he was healthy.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yeah, I mean, I get it, it's his rookie season,
but definitely he did not make the impact that I
think a lot of people thought he would. I mean, remember,
like after the draft, he were like Matthew Golden to
the moon. Like they spent the first round pick on
a wide receiver. It's got to mean something, and so
far it hasn't meant anything.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Rams spent a second round pick on two two out well,
and here we are in twenty twenty five, still trying
to get him as a full time wide receiver. But
you know, draft capital means nothing in fantasy.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Yes and no, but in this case no. Also to
too is we. He's we. He's a wee. He's a
wee wee man.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I mean it's hard to have him out say it
like that.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
He's we. He's we.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
He's a great player, man, He's tell us another contract.
He's playing up to it. When given opportunity, He's also we.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
That's all. Devin Neil left the Saints game the their
surprise win over the Panthers. By the way, the NFC,
the NFC South is pure chaos and I love every
moment of it. Devinil leaves the game with the hamstring injury.
Uh lakwan, can I interest you maybe an odric estimate?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Ah Man this guy again keeps popping up. I don't know, man,
because like there's always that moment where you're like, next
man up, and then you look and you like it's
all dressed to me, damn it. So you don't really
want to trust him. But we've seen the Saints hand
the keys to the next man up three times now.
I would say, when album Kamara was not doing great,

(17:01):
Kendre Miller got the rock, and when Kendre Miller went down,
Devin Neil got the rock. Now we're looking at alldre estimate.
This run game isn't great. It's not one of those
run games that I could see myself saying, yes, he's
a starter this week, flex get him off the wave ward. No,
it's still the Saints rushing offense that has been bottom
of the table for most of the season. So no,

(17:21):
I'm not interested. I'd rather pivot to other options if
there are. In the waiver war. Blake orm is still
surprisingly on the waiver war. I don't know why, but
he's there. But I look at it like because left
playing right there. But I'm just saying you should have
stashed him. Three weeks ago, the month of November, this
guy was starting to ramp up. I don't know why
he hasn't been stashed, but it sucks that Devin Neil's

(17:44):
going out because I think he was on the verge
of putting up like a twenty burger, like this is
one of his best games that I've seen him, you know,
actually on the upward of like, oh, we're about to
cash in like some RB two numbers. But him leaving
the game is just like are you serious? And also
what he marks, like I know this is a sidebar,
but I had both of these guys and I'm thinking like, oh,
they're about to put up RB two numbers, and then
both of them go out, So it's like, now I

(18:05):
have to pivot to the waiver wire for guys like
all your estimate that I cannot see myself trusting and
feeling good about heading into the next round in the
Fantasy Playoffs.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
For the record, Tyler Shuck yesterday ended up leading these
Saints in both carries and rushing yards. Obviously some of
that having to do with meals injury.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I could put the Spencer Ratler fan trained to bed
now because Tyler Shuck looks like he's the guy now.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
So he's not right he's mister right now, Like, I
don't think he's the long term answer.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
He's their best option.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
He's their best option, but he also isn't he is
the guy that needs you get to stop looking for quarterbacks.
You know, Yeah, it's the Saints aren't looking at Tyler
Suck and being like, well we're done. Like's not.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
It's the potential there. I know, there's pretend I say
that because like the last couple of weeks, you guys know,
like Marcus had shattered him out as a potential flex
option as per flex leagues and a starter point. But
I'm like watching him closely now, Like I've been watching
a lot of Saints games this season. I don't know why,
but just like some of them players are interesting and
then you know, I'm a huge Juwan Johnson fan. But

(19:11):
Tyler Schuck has looked like at above average quarterback play
at times, getting on into the pocket, rolling out, taking
the long ball, throwing downfield, like he's doing everything above average.
Let's just say that, like he's doing what he's supposed
to do to hold on to the job. And I
like what I'm seeing from so the potential is definitely there.
Twenty twenty six, get some more weapons. It's just it's gonna.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Be very interesting to see if a forty year old
quarterback can progress or if he's kind of just at
the level that he's at.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
I mean, I don't think I don't think Tyler Schuck
takes them out of the Arch Madness sweepstakes, right that.
When we're looking at arch Manning next year, you know,
or whenever he's ready to come.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Out, is he coming out? I was about to say,
not this.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Year, not this year. No, no, no, no no. His grandfather,
Archie Manny, has said right from the beginning of the
season that there's he's not coming out here.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
They're apologize for saying that, but I'm like, all right,
what's going on?

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Well, Also, the first few weeks of Arch were not great.
He turned it around and he absolutely was playing great
football at the end of the season, but it was
not great at the start of the year for Arch Manning.
So anyway, that's news headlines want to get to what
was the biggest story though, of Sunday, at least leading
into Sunday, and that was the return of Philip Rivers,

(20:26):
forty four years old, off the couch, a grandfather who'd
been coaching high school football for the last several years,
comes back to start for the Indianapolis Colts against the
Seattle Seahawks. The final numbers on Philip Rivers on Sunday.
He was eighteen of twenty seven one hundred and twenty

(20:49):
one yards with a touchdown and an interception that translated
to six point three fantasy points. Also had negative five
rushing yards, in case you were interested in that sort
of thing. LaQuan, your thoughts on what you saw out
of Philip Rivers on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I'll say this, for a guy that's forty four years
old to come in with that much confidence to go
out there potentially beat the Seahawks, I look at it
like this. I'm happy with his performance coming off the couch,
but it's not enough. It's not enough to support a
Michael Pittman. It's not enough to support a Tyler Warren.

(21:28):
So I do hope that you know, this could be
one of those feel good stories. But then it's like,
all right, let's get back to reality. Let's get back
to where we saw Riley Leonard last week. You know,
because Riley Leonard looked better in those three quarters than
Philip Rivers did. In four quarters in almost a triumphant
victory against the Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
I saw a guy who obviously the football IQ was there.
This is what we all expected, right, I mean, dude's
been around the game forever. He knows what he's doing.
But also a guy who has zero armstrong length left.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Sidearms doesn't look the same, Marcus, Like, it just looks
like me throwing a pham ball.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
It looked there were some of those throws Florida where
it looked like the ball was twenty pounds the way
he was trying to sling it right and just throwing
these balloons out there, and like it's more often than
that they got there right. He was eighteen of twenty seven.
Like the completion percentage was good. I'm but florya, Okay,
we have Riley Leonard back now just for our own fantasy.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
No, well, why I want Philip Rivers? Like, why, No,
it's entertaining I do. I'm not a Colts fan.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
I'm not rooting for them.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
I'm rooting for fun and Philip Rivers look like, yeah,
I get it. On his de throws, he had a
four point seven passer rating on any throw more than
ten air yards it wasn't it wasn't pretty. It also
was his first game in five years that he had
three days of prep for against what has been the
toughest secondary in the last six weeks. I mean, if

(23:02):
it was Anthony Richardson coming back, sure, sign me up.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
But if it's Riley Leonard or Philip Rivers. As an
objective viewer, I want to watch Philip Rivers? What is
wrong with you? What do you gotta getst Riley?

Speaker 1 (23:16):
I want I want Tyler Warren to have more than
three catches for nineteen yards.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
I mean, all the Colts were terrible.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
We're gonna talk about that because that you cannot trust.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
But can you trust them with Riley? We don't even
know that, yes you can. We do know that he's finished.
You know those three quarters against William Trevor mid Lawrence,
he honestly looked a little bit better than him in
those last three quarters in a game where the defense
had zero prep for him. So what, it's still like

(23:48):
a third string, fourth string quarterback at this point.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
And there, come on, think about it this way. Shane
Steichen and the Colts have watched Riley Leonard all year
and they were like, you know what, let's go get
Philip Rivers five years on the couch.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
It's to keep the fans engaged and have the hope
that they're going to the playoffs or even the Super Bowl.
Riley Leonard gives them the best shot.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
Psichon straight up said, if we don't try Rivers, we're
not making the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
That's brutal, that's rough. That's if I'm Riley Leonard, I'm
just like, I'm gonna walk into a lake. But what
are we doing?

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Bro had one hundred and twenty yards, I would be
so angry, like, at least Riley can move out of
the pocket like Bro. Rivers looked like in pain, Like,
let's be honest. I was like, Bro, the Seahawks are
none letting up. They were coming after him.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
They very curious how they did almost win. I'm very
curious how Philip Rivers feels this morning, like physically, how
does his body feel this morning? Like that's what I
want to know.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Boy. I know I fell after that forty I mean boy.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
I said, I played softball for the first time last summer,
for the first I mean, ye're and it wasn't the worst,
but it also wasn't the greatest. Like I wasn't trying
to get out there and do it again the next day.
So that's that's all I know.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
I guess them Wednesday night.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
If you want to come through, yeah, oh cool on man,
I'll come chew you on and you know, go team go.
I need a little more warm up time before that. Anyway,
take a break, come back. We've got a whole lot
of other things to talk about, some heroes and villains.
We do some questions. I got a lot of things
in this rundown. We may not even get to them all.
We'll find out. That's that's coming next though, on the
NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. So Week one of the fantasy

(25:35):
playoffs in most leagues almost completely in the books. There's
still the Monday night game between the Steelers and Dolphins.
I just say Dolphins and Steelers, right because it's in Pittsburgh.
It's supposed to be crazy cold, and everybody's already bringing
up the fact that Tua Tongueaailoa is ozh and five
in his career. When the temperature is at or below
forty degrees, I think the forecast was like eighteen with

(25:57):
sixteen mile an hour wins. Potentially that seems bad. But
other than that, everybody else has already played this week,
So I'll figure we do some heroes and villains. Lakwan,
who was your fantasy playoff hero in this first week?

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Wow? I mean to roster Tony Poler and then make
it to the playoffs. To this point, I mean, in
the last three games, Bro, he's been a top three
running back, Like what is going on? He has the
second most rushing yards behind Tony Pot I mean behind
James Cook right now, Tony Poller coming out of nowhere
putting up these strong performances. He has to be a
hero for one of those teams that were on the fence,

(26:30):
the seventh seed team that you know made it with
Tony Poler as their RB three, as their RB two.
Whatever the case may be of how you drafted him,
but he has given us production where we have not
seen this for a very long time. Like it's one
of those things where we look at the Titans offense,
it's like it's the Titans offense. They're not doing anything.
The run game is pathetic, the old line is not great.

(26:50):
But these last couple of weeks, cam Ward has been
looking a lot better. It looks like he's starting to
form into this QB one, the number one draft pick
that they picked, and it's contagious. You're seeing guys like
a Van Jefferson, elk Io Manor and you're seeing Tony
Pollard step up now as the RB one. So he
is definitely a hero in this round of the playoffs
for a lot of fantasy managers.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
I think what's happened at least the last couple of
weeks is they're not getting blown out like from the
jump right. I think that's part because I was going
back and looking at some of Pollard's numbers and efficiency wise,
he's actually been okay. The problem is they were playing
from so far behind in the second half usually that
they just had to scrap the run game all together.

(27:32):
And they're kind of using tay J. Spears as their
pass catching back. But you know, last week they beat
the Browns. This week they kind of stayed within arms
distance of the Niners for most of the game. There's
at one point San Francisco got up by three scores.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
That's how you guys play bad teams this entire season.
I mean, that's why you guys are fraud of what
your record is. But I'm sorry, I'm going on the ramp,
but go on continue, Marcus.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
So Tony Pollard got some opportunities because you know, they
were actually within striking distance for some part of the game.
I think that has a lot to do with it.
Has just been getting run out of the building and
so the game script was forcing cam Moore to have
to throw the ball a lot, which is also why
cam Moore has been sacked more than any other quarterback
in the NFL so far this year. Floria, is your

(28:17):
chance to make nice with Patriots fans when you talk
about your playoff hero for the.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Week, Travion Henderson. And let me just tell you this, right.
I know you all saw the thirty points that he
dropped and the two touchdowns and everything, but did you
know that in NFL history, the entirety of the NFL
playoffs included, there are three running backs who have multiple

(28:40):
games where they ran for a fifty plus yard touchdown,
two of them in the same game. So those running
backs are Chris Johnson, Saquon Barkley, and Travion Henderson, who
has done it in fourteen games, fourteen games where his
own coach did didn't want to give him the ball

(29:01):
and wanted to use fumble itis over him. And now
you gotta explain how one of the greatest rookie seasons
was held in check because you didn't want to use him.
More that being said, I'm here to tell you I
was not wrong. None of us who believe in Travion
were wrong. It was the coaches who were wrong. Because

(29:23):
in the history of the NFL, right three rookies have
had four touchdown runs of fifty or more yards.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
It is Saquon, Trevion and some dude named Lennymore who
none of you know who he is. That is Colts
great Lennymore. All right, Marcus knows who it is.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
But of course Marcus knows who it is to say
that's it, right, This is Lenny.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Moore from nineteen fifty six. By the way, Like that's
how far back we're going.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
There's some of Baltimore Colts. Then yeah, I'm.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Just saying, like, he is really good. He is awesome,
and uh, if you have him and he made the playoffs,
congrats because he could just keep I know, next week
they get the Ravens. I'm playing Trevon.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
No questions asked if I have them?

Speaker 1 (30:06):
All right, all right, by the way, mister fumble, Thumb's
uh was in my uh he's in Sleepers call. He
got your ten points. If you're into that sort of thing.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
I wrote, Yeah, yeah, he was good, he was solid, but.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
Thumbs was there. You're right, minds Kobe Brissette for those
of you who had the stones to play Jacoby Brissett,
and I look, and I said this on another show
that if you're starting him, like, don't watch it, like
you don't want to see because it's not going to
be fun to watch as it happens. But the thing
about Jacoby Brissett is, uh, going down three scores only

(30:41):
makes him stronger. And that's kind of what happened against
the Texans. They went down multiple scores. Even at the beginning,
it looked kind of rough. They couldn't move the ball. No,
not really a surprise there against that Texans defense. But
in the second half is when he started to clean up.
Because Houston was up by multiple scores, you know, they
were starting to back off a little bit. They're like, hey,

(31:02):
let's just keep the ball in front of us. Let's
just you know, just don't give up any really big
plays in the passing game. Travy Bride had a couple
of touchdowns that were sort of inconsequential. I mean, they
got doubled up forty to twenty. But Schobe brissett nine
three touchdowns give you over twenty Fantasy points. Yet again,

(31:23):
I mean, what he's gone. I'm looking at this right now.
Every game that he has started this year, he's had
at least eighteen Fantasy points. Every single one. He has
been Fantasy Gold this year. And it doesn't even matter.
Because the Cardinals can't run the ball and their defense

(31:44):
is bad and they're falling behind. You just know Brissette's
gonna stand back there and he's gonna sling it a
bunch and so like now you look at the rest
of this playoff schedule for them, they got the Falcons,
they got the Bengals. I said this several weeks ago,
and I stick by it. Jacoby Rissett's going to win
people championships. It's going to be crazy, but he is
going to win somebody championships because the schedule is set

(32:06):
up that way, the offense is set up that way.
It's not always going to be fun to watch, but
it's going to happen when it's all said and done to.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Backs, I would be remiss if I didn't point out
though that uh jj McCarthy, I'll score him.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Oh my god, bro please soda, Trev Soda, bow Knicks Soda,
Brock Perty Soda Golf. We got a twenty burger. We
ain't gonna stay here and do that.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Hey, I tweet it out like him doing this against
Houston is super impressive.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
But I just I'm just pointing out, Bro, I don't
care what defense it is. I'm starting to go be
said rest of the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Man, Well yeah, well he's not. He's past the toughest tests,
like it's all downhill now. This was the one. This
was the one matchup to get away. In my opinion,
can't have a hero without a villain. Who is your villain, lakwan,
it has to be Justin Jefferson. And I really want
to address the room, like who in the room is
with us that actually has roster Justin Jefferson? Who are
sitting in the playoffs right now?

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Because I would say this, I lost to a team
that played Justin Jefferson, the Watson team that got hurt.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
I told you I lost Justin Jeffers. He also had travion, but.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
That's not the point of the story.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Yeah, but who did he sit? Because I feel like
this is a villain arc and I feel like now
when we look back in the summer, the lack of
chemistry that was built between him and JJ was a
red flag because he was dealing with a hamstring injury
all summer. Oh yeah, we're friends and public had a
huge game. If we're if we're keeping in a buck,

(33:37):
you get.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
A touchdown, call back, get a touchdown, bounce off his
hand and he got tackled at the one.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
But this all goes to that chemistry of what I've
been saying for the last couple of months, there is
no chemistry there. That's why Jalen Naylor and Jordan Addison
and t J. Hockinson and Josh Oliver are able to
have these type of games with him because they spent
the most time with him in the summer. And I
got to say this, him getting benched and then the
weird concussion and ankle, all that stuff took away time

(34:04):
for him to build this chemistry with Justin Jefferson. So
he is my villain because for the simple fact he's
burned so many rosters into playoffs, because we keep looking
at his big name and saying, oh, yeah, we got
to start him, but instead of looking at the red
flags that we have seen for the last couple of weeks,
like what do we do.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
That chemistry is the reason their old lineman went a
yard to downfield that took the touch.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
I don't even think it's a chemistry issue. I think
it's a thing that for whatever.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Raw placement. Look where he's placing the ball and that
won that bounce. Why are you throwing that so high up?

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Yeah, but that's not a chemistry thing. That's a quarterback thing.
It's just when it's all these other guys JJ McCarthy
seems to be on target. When it's when it's justin Jefferson,
it turns into a stormtrooper. He's just blasting everything.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
He doesn't know where to place the ball for him.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Reence would have hit if Lakwan had ever seen Star Wars.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Startling Star Wars Star Treks. If we're being honest, he
could have went off like there.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Was a lot that went wrong there there. It just
didn't happen. Whatever. We'll see that. There are questions, Floria,
who is your villain for Week one?

Speaker 3 (35:13):
All of the colts because none of them are you
Like Josh Downs led them.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
In fantasy points with a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
He had thirteen yards, like he needed every one of
his three catches to crack ten fantasy points. Michael Pittman
Junior had less than five. Alec Pearce had less than five.
Tyler Warren had less than five, Like, you cannot start
these guys. If you have them, I would drop them
before I would start them, like I'm not I'm not
playing any of my colts and yet oryn.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
If you're desperate. But that's about it.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
We won Riley how but we don't know, like the
coaches are telling us that as a passer of the football,
Philip Rivers is better, but it was held in check.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Lie, that is a bullface, Lie, Come on, what did
they do the week before with with Riley Winnon? We
got good fantasy production from Pittman and warn.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
You did have more passing yards last week against Jacksonville
than Philip Patt against Seattle.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Well, Seattle is.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Even Seattle. Seattle is a different animal. It's a different
and for.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Sure Jags ain't saft either. That's a good defense.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
They're not soft, but they're not the number one tough
defense like like again. Since Week ten, the Seahawks have
allowed the lowest completion percentage in passer rating on passes
to wide receivers.

Speaker 1 (36:34):
All right, anyway, my villain is Joe Burrow. You know
it hurt, right? You got what five points out of
Joe Burrow five and a half? Let me be specific here,
two hundred and twenty five passing yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions.
This is coming off of two really good games. He

(36:54):
gave you nineteen give you twenty three in that game
against the Bills, so you thought in what was you know,
kind of a gotta have it matchup for the Bengals.
I mean, even then their chances were super slim. But
against the Ravens defense that hasn't been good all year,
that that he got you next to nothing was Wash

(37:15):
Rivers hugely delay. He had fewer points than Philip Rivers did,
hugely disappointing in a really really big spot. So if
you were starting Joe Burrow, I'm guessing you probably didn't
live to see next week. But if you did, I mean,
I guess good on you. But it just it was bad, bad,
bad uh for for Burrow this week I was gonna

(37:38):
do a wtf is going on? But I'm gonna scrap
that because we're talking a lot. But I do ask
some questions from week fifteen, mostly because I wanted to ask.
I want to ask LaQuan this question. Are you ready
to use Trevor Lawrence's proper name now? To some points, No,
he's an actual name, like not William call him?

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Like?

Speaker 1 (37:57):
What is mom William? I don't think his mom calls him.
William probably does. I'm pretty sure.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Listen, I respect him, Okay, I respect him. I respect William.
I respect Trevor. I will not say the mid because
he put a fifty three points in my starting lineup
against one of my biggest leagues, and I'm very happy
and grateful for that. But can he keep this momentum
he got Denver this week? I'm looking at this matchup

(38:26):
like there could be some wiggle room for him. But
if he shows up and shows out against Denver, then
I would no longer call him mid because he will
be on a hot streak. He has the Mario star power.
He cannot be touched right now because what we saw,
not even traves Etn saw him play like that. He
won a championship, a national title win, and he said
he's never seen him play like that. So I respect

(38:48):
the game. But we will see. He'll be put to
the test. This is the biggest test coming this week.
If he brings it home to me.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
I will say, you know, if again, if you have
Trevor Lawrence, you're also not you're honestly riding on him
every week, right, Like you probably have some of the
options like this might be the week you back away
and then you try again in championship week against the Colts.
If that's what it comes down to, I think that
that's possible. But last three games, nine touchdown passes, no interceptions,
also a rushing touchdown.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
I will say it is documented that the last two
Monday shows, when we're talking about playoff stash and pickups
and all that stuff, mister William was on my list.
So I will say this, Yeah, but that's because you
had a roster him in your league. That's it.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
You gotta call it. You gotta call a dude by like,
not the name he prefers to go by, a little
bit like you can't just you can't just let it ride.
You can't just let it what this is I d
say prices Trevor.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
I'm pretty sure it says William if he wants to
get on airports and airplants and stuff like that. But whatever, I'm.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
Gonna just I'm gonna start calling you, like, what's your
middle name?

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Not disclosing that I'm you know, I'm gonna start calling that.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Like he wants to be Trevor, Like, let's dude, be Trevor.
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
It's an all time bat. Like look, I ran into
him in the Fantasy Lively. Kudos to you, Marcus. I
hope you win it all now. But anyone like me
all time bad beat. Because he's the first player in
NFL history to have this stat line that he did yesterday.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
And oh yeah he is.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
He in his whole career had top thirty Fantasy points
twice and he scored forty five yesterday. Like it was
the Jets. It was the Jets. Though it was cool
he put forty five. Okay, here who it is put
forty five Fantasy points. That's a huge You.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Didn't have to do all that. You know, they were
up like thirty and he was still slinging it.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
Yeah, Florida is j CM back after yesterday.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
It was the Giants.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
You see, come on, the Giants have again ran all
over all year.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Who do they get next week they get? Yeah, no
way am I play him.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
In fact, I'll tell you to sit him right now
against the Eagles, Like, it was fun to see he
got the touchdown all of that.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
But I'm not they also were leading the entirety of
the game. It was perfect game script against the bad matchup, all.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Right, I mean I do that's fair. I was like,
I was hoping that that was gonna be Chris Rodriguez
and then all of a sudden he was a scratch
on Sunday morning, and so that that opened things up.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
For freaking.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Uh DJ Moore at two touchdowns? Is DJ Moore a thing? Now?
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
I'm not gonna trust it. And then come on, like
did we see that happening in that game? Like show
me one Fantasy and ash or anybody that said, start
DJ Moore this week, because like even with Roma Duns
not being in the game, which he hasn't been in
the game for a very long time, his dad is
brbad crashing out right now on the twitters. But uh, yeah,
I feel like DJ Moore is going to be that

(41:59):
up and down roller coaster where it's like, we look
at this game, we get all excited, we paint this
beautiful picture, and then he lets us down. And that's
kind of just what it's been. It's been every other week,
snip snap, snip snap. How can you trust that in
do or die matchups? In the fantasy playoffs? And I
look at some of my rosters that I did roster
Dj Moore and then I dropped and et cetera. I
picked up bigger and better things, like a Christian Watson.

(42:21):
But now that he's injured, do I go back to
the waiver wire and say I can put my trust
into Dj Moore? Like, it just sounds really nasty and yucky.
So if you're in those situations, I can understand why
you have to indulge in that. But like for somebody
that's like sitting pretty at the wide receiver position, I'm
not even bat in the eye looking that way.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Yeah, Luther Burden has become a bigger part of that offense.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
The last couple of weeks look good. He looks good
on his opportunity. I look forward to him in twenty
twenty six. That's a conversation that needs to be had.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Yeah, this felt kind of fluky for for DJ Moore.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Touchdown looks amazing though, everyone in the back of the
end zone.

Speaker 1 (42:58):
Some great plays for sure, But yeah, I don't know
that I trusted all right, Still got a little bit
more to do. Do some drop zone, do some waiver wire. Also,
maybe the Harold Fannin watch it may pop up a
little bit. Just sticker off for that coming up on
the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. All right, time to make
some waiver wire moves, some roster moves as you get

(43:20):
ready for the second round of your fantasy playoffs. So
we will start with the drop zone, the folks that
you are letting go of to make room for people
on your roster. So who are you saying goodbye to Lukwan.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Zach Sharpney if you're still rostering him? Like him and
Kenneth Walker are just unusable at this point, Like we're
looking at fantasy points with single digit numbers next to
their names, and like it's not a backfield that at
the back and end of the season right now that's going
to figure it out and like create the scoring opportunities
for Kenneth Walker or Zach sharpneing I should have put

(43:52):
Zach Sharbonnay slash Kenneth Walker because neither one of them
were usable in starting line. I'm sort of the rest
of the season, and with Thursday against the Rams difficult
matchup on the ground, we know that they're stingy getting
guys into the end zone as well. I just feel
as though now it's time to rid the band aid
off and look for other options.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Yeah it's fair. I mean it's the Seahawks running backs
have just been so frustrating all year, and like I say,
this is the person who was like, you know, waving
the flag for for Zach Scharbone at the start of
the year. Uh if she finally had to drop him. No,
he went to u C l A Stop.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
I know that's your school, weird because you're weirdly adopted,
so like, good luck with that.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
But I finally dropped him on the Fantasy Live team,
which means I should probably change my name because the
name of the team was Sipping Charbonnet. But now he's not.
He's not on my roster anymore, so I don't know
if I can keep it. I'm too lazy. I'm not
going to change it, but that's what it is.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
I get that. So in that league is just Florios,
So you're as well in one league for a lo
long time. I had two girlies to one cup. So
they're no longer on the Rams team. But name's kind
of cool.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
Eh, Yeah, I get that. I forgot the overlap pie
was maybe a year or two. It wasn't very long
that they overlapped a couple of years. It was okay, yeah,
all right, Florida, were you.

Speaker 2 (45:15):
Dropping Isaiah Likely? You are dead to me? No, I'm kidding.

Speaker 3 (45:19):
Oh but yesterday it was tough Man against the Bengals,
and like I was talking up Likely saying that he
had been running with bad luck because he should have
had a touchdown catch last week. He should have had
won the week prior to that against the Bengals. He
went for ninety five yards against the Bengals. And I
know it.

Speaker 2 (45:37):
It was a game where Lamar threw twelve passes.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
That like, it's hard for anyone to have success when
your quarterback is throwing twelve passes.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
But in a league.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
Where I sat Jake Ferguson, who scored three point six
fantasy points for Isaiah Likely, I still somehow made the
wrong decision because likely gave us a big zero.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
So to I I need thirteen and a half fantasy
points out of two A tongue II looa.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
You know how big that three point six from Jake
Ferguson would have been. Because ten versus thirteen with Tua
is a completely other ball game. It shouldn't be a
lot to ask, but unfortunately it feels like the Tua.

Speaker 1 (46:18):
In the cold getting thirteen. I mean, I like your chances, like,
I think it's possible, but you're gonna be it to
the end.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
Yet passing to my commissioner was like four to six,
let's just split the difference and make it five. So
maybe that pushes it over a little bit, but we'll see. Yeah,
I think League one at four point half the League
one at six. So the commissioner just made it five.
It's one of the weirdest seas of this league.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
It is.

Speaker 1 (46:43):
But I don't I don't really hate it. I mean
I really don't. Like he's like, all right, fine, half
you want this, haf you want that? Like now nobody's happy. Great,
shout out that him. Sometimes that's what you gotta do.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
It's the commissioner, you know, Marcus is bringing Dad logic
into this.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Everybody's happy. This is what's gonna be now, just just
look with it. That's all you gotta do. We can
let go o Xavier Worthy now, and we probably could
let go of Xavier Worthy a couple of weeks ago.
But I think, especially now with Gardner Minshew taking over
the Chiefs out of the playoff race, you know, and
not that they're going to pack it in right like,

(47:21):
I just don't. It's a group of veteran guys who've
had success. They're not just gonna suddenly just pack it
up and go home. But Savior Worthy has not consistently
provided you with much of anything. He hasn't scored a touchdown,
only one touchdown all year long, that was back in
week six. Beyond that, it's generally just single digit points

(47:43):
from Xavier Worthy a lot of times less than you know,
six or seven points for him. It has been bleaked.
Now you get a quarterback change. You don't have Patrick
Mahomes anymore. I just I don't see any reason to
even I just look, he was like rostering like seventy
five percent. I think of NFL I calm leagues, like
you don't have to do this to yourself.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
You can move on from from the other team. It's
like twenty five. Yeah, if he played for the Ravens,
who will be undrafted?

Speaker 1 (48:10):
You say that Ravens like Walker, those the Raiders. Nobody
would know his name, you know, like that's what it is.
So early.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
Maybe Baker might give him a shot more often than not.
I mean, you see tes Johnson going out there making no.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
We might need to have a by we maybe later
in the week, we may need to have a Jalen
McMillan conversation because he's back, so we'll say anyway, those
are the guys we're staying bye to. Who are the
people Florida that we may be potentially saying hello to
off the waiver wire this week?

Speaker 3 (48:41):
Quarterbacks, if you need a stream, I think Bryce Young
is in play next week against the Bucks. Marcus you
were talking about on Fantasy Live the other day. You
just start quarterbacks against the Bucks. Marcus Mariota has showed
to be a very safe floor quarterback, but next week
could be a game where he's chasing points a little
bit too well, depending on what he does on Monday night.

(49:02):
But they get they have a favorable matchup next week,
and so does Aaron Rodgers. So that is like streaming
options for those going a little deeper. There was a
lot of running back injuries this week, Michael Carter, because
Bam Knight was carted off. We already spoke about Jacry
crossky Merrit Blake Korum, lq's boy Autric sme, we've.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
Already spoke about.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
Boy ye raise your hand if you knew who Jawar
Johnson Jordan was before yesterday, but he might be the
Texas RB one now.

Speaker 1 (49:31):
Something who was missing Aladdin in the Disney movie, right, and.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
Then de Ricado and Darry Ogumbawally just says, deeper options
there receivers, Page Packers, guys, Jayden, Reid, Romeo Dobbs, Matthew Golden,
h Jalen Cocher had a really nice long cat talking
about it. The floor is low, but the ceiling is
high regardless of QB. And then lq's boy two two
at well, and then I don't know what Schultz has

(50:00):
to do for more people to pick him up, like
he's just been a legit tight end one for a
sexy game.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
Yeah, he's still out there.

Speaker 3 (50:07):
Darren Waller, because they have a favorable matchup next week
and then Kolby Parkinson because LQ you could speak on this,
but if Davante is out, I think Parkinson suddenly becomes
your top end zone option.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
He does, and again I text you guys yesterday about
the tight end scream. It does not look like it's
going anywhere. I hate the play when even when it works,
I'm just saying, it just calls this destruction.

Speaker 1 (50:31):
And then when ye Hutchinson steps in the middle of it,
it's even worse.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
But I showed you guys a tweet from twenty twenty one.
I've hated this play since being a Rams fan, Like,
I just do not like the play. It's just dumb
and when it doesn't work, it looks horrible. And then
that happens. But with Davonte Adams down, he does become
more of a full time reliant, like red zone target
for Stafford, just because we see these little bootleg underneafs

(50:58):
and then he bullies his way into the end zone.
That's kind of what Parkinson is. I mean, it wasn't
a touchdown, but they called it a touchdown. Lions fans
keep Brian. Put the cage back, put the cat back
in the cage and call it a day.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
Yeah, touchdown too. So that's true. That's that's a really
good matchup. They're not good absolutely Seattle.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
I mean, look, Tyler Warren had the match up against Seattle,
but it was Philip Rivers, Okay, Riley Leonard who should
be included on the waiver wire. Florio needs to be
the starter to get Tyler. Yes, yes, I'm start off.
I just kidding, kidding.

Speaker 1 (51:37):
I just want to start.

Speaker 4 (51:38):
Forgetting guys outside l I just want to see Riley
go Monday Night next week. Come on, what's gonna be
more fun? Beating the winers? No, beating the whiners?

Speaker 2 (51:51):
Riley Leonard will just make this entire birthday week honestly.

Speaker 1 (51:56):
Like you don't know, So I'm gonna I'm gonna push
back on that one, I think for you, for you personally,
Philip Rivers, beating the forty nine ers would be much
more satisfying to you than Riley Leonard.

Speaker 2 (52:07):
It'll be more embarrassing, but.

Speaker 1 (52:08):
I'm much more satisfying to you than ry I was
out there for you personally. The quan Just like, what.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Is LK gonna say if Philip Rivers and the Colts
beat Seattle right now.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
Like I was sitting there, I was rooting for it,
even though it's better for the Bills if Seahawks won,
But like, I just want chaos if Philip Rivers.

Speaker 2 (52:27):
I gotta be honest. I had the Rams game on
the big screen, and then I had the Colts game
on my phone on NFL Plus and I'm sitting here
watching game in and now, and I'm like, it just
doesn't feel like Rivers is about to get this feel
good story victory. Like it just didn't feel that way
because it's still the Seahawks, bro, And like I knew
Myers was gonna go out there and hit the game.

(52:47):
Like it's just like that's just what it is, you know,
Like and Rivers played his heart out, like I give
him the respect and credit, but it's like, bro, come on,
you could have got more out of Riley Leonard.

Speaker 1 (52:57):
If they were gonna If they were gonna win though,
it was gonna be like a six team fifteen kind
of score, Like they weren't gonna they weren't gonna win
a you know, twenty seven to twenty five.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
It was it gonna be a bomb to Alec Pearson there,
you know, game winner, No, no, not at all.

Speaker 3 (53:10):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (53:10):
Anyway, that was the whole thing about Kobe Parkinson and
tight ends, which time for Harold fannin watched. So in
case you forgot, last year, Lakwan made a bet that
if John new Smith finished as a top five tight end,
he would dye his hair blonde. John new finished tight
end four. You showed up looking like Cisco. So this
summer you decided to double down, he said you would

(53:31):
do even this summer it was fresh blode.

Speaker 2 (53:34):
It was February where I made this gamble with my
son dyeing my hair again.

Speaker 1 (53:38):
Uh fine, but you said you die your hair blonde again.
If Harold fan and Junior finished as the as a
top five tight end, he's currently the tight end eight
with one hundred and fifty five points. He's ten points
back behind Tyler Warren. Right now, who is the tight
end five? You know in between them, Dallas Goddard and
Brock Bowers. Now here's the thing. Harold Fannon did not

(54:03):
have a good game on Sunday against the Bears. Tyler
Warren now has to deal with either Philip Rivers or
Riley Leonard as his quarterback. So both of these guys
are sort.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
Of backing up right, now, do you understand this is
how the Johnny Smith story ended as well, Like guys
were just declining and Johnny just kept rising. They kept
having like these two touchdown games and then like a
freaking forty target shair because Mike Mdanon won the game
to the top five, Like I feel like this is
going to happen again. Hell keep saying with me. Now,

(54:38):
go Bills might a matchup and that's who gets Fanning
this week.

Speaker 1 (54:45):
So Dallas gotters tight end six, brock Bowers is tight
end seven, so they are so they have he has
to leap frog those two guys and Warren to get
into the top five.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Which is possible because we have brock Bowers, Henny freaking
Picket And look, I'm rooting for Dallas godd because he's
getting all those design plays, low shuffle passes inside the five,
like cool, you keep scoring because that will keep Fanning
in check. He'll finish as tight end six maybe, but
it's really the Tyler Warren in the brock Bowers of
the world. And then even looking at Jake Ferguson, who's

(55:18):
been single digit list, like it's one of those things
that the last three games were the last two games.
I should say this could possibly happen if he blows
up against the Steelers and tops it all off.

Speaker 1 (55:30):
Oh, this is gonna be fun.

Speaker 2 (55:31):
Wait a second week, get John new versus Fanning. Oh
my god, this is gonna be beautiful.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
World's colliding John Neu versus fan.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
I just want to point out real quick, j McBride
has more than ninety points than any other tight end, Like, yeah,
one of the biggest positional.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
Advantages probably in fantasy history. Shout out to him.

Speaker 1 (55:52):
Yeah, I mean that was why I had him as
my tight end one this year.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
Damn. I think we all had agreed in the summer
that he should be tight should be the tied end one.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
Two years in a row he should have been, And
yet finally he will get it now.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
And that's finally he's getting touchdowns. That's what it is.
He has more touchdowns from Jacoby Brissett than Kyler Murray
has in his entire career. Like it's insane. Wow.

Speaker 1 (56:16):
All right, So as as we wrap up the show,
Lakwana's your birthday on Sunday, So happy belated birthday. Actually
we saw you on Saturday also, so we've we've kind
of worked into the days. But you know, we have
you a hard time about a lot of things on
this show, some of which you have rightfully earned. But
you know what, we're not all We're not all bad.
We're not all about tweaking you right like we we

(56:37):
genuinely love having you on the show. We've all become friends.
It's great having you here, and so as a gesture
of good faith and because we like you, I reached
out to a mutual friend of ours lquh and asked
if he could record a birthday message for you. So, Kyrie,
if you've got that, can we play the birthday message clip.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
On?

Speaker 5 (57:00):
First of all, let me get this out of the way.
Happy birthday man, Happy tripper on the Sun. I hope
this year brought you some wisdom, joy, peace.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
And love.

Speaker 5 (57:12):
Like I said, it's your personal new Year. Hope you
enjoy your day. So, how the hell haven't you seen
Star Wars by Brouh?

Speaker 1 (57:22):
Are you serious? I thought we were tight.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
I thought we vibed on every level.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
We definitely on.

Speaker 5 (57:28):
Rams, football and fatherhood and shopping at the same grocery store.
Had I known you have never seen the greatest series?
Soaka knowing the man, I wouldn't have gave you a
second thought. Get you.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
In front of the TV asap.

Speaker 5 (57:48):
As a matter of fact, me and Marcus are going
to have a movie wise today so we can get
you up to date. You just can't let this stand.
Happy birthday here.

Speaker 2 (57:56):
God.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
That was former Rams defensive lineman and Ram's sideline reported
to Marco Farr. Who you guys are like some of
my neighbors. Right, you guys run into each other at
the grocery store regularly.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
Right quite often?

Speaker 3 (58:12):
Man?

Speaker 2 (58:12):
That was freaking great, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
Man.

Speaker 2 (58:16):
Like the thing is, it's like I've seen DeMarco at
the grocery store, at the same grocery store twice, but
then a third time across town at another grocery store.
I'm like, dude, there's no way this has happened. What
are you doing here? But I do I do respect,
you know, I do need to see Star Wars then,
because if it's that big of a deal, then you know,

(58:38):
all right, I'll venture in to see what Star Wars.
I can dip my toe.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
And it has only been a major part of American
culture for almost fifty years.

Speaker 2 (58:48):
Now, right, dude, I told you my first fourteen years
of Life. I got that confused with Star Trek, like
that was dead serious series.

Speaker 1 (58:57):
IDA get it, Like that's fine, but you're you're well
beyond fourteen.

Speaker 2 (59:01):
Now, yes, you know, I will watch before it was
never seen Back to the Future. Don't make me the
only guy that haven't seen any culture movies Series.

Speaker 1 (59:12):
Three, Back to the Future films. There's like a whole
universe literally of Star Wars movies.

Speaker 2 (59:17):
I guess that's like never seen the Avengers I got.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
Actually it's worse than never having seen The Avengers.

Speaker 2 (59:24):
It really it came.

Speaker 1 (59:26):
Out almost fifty years ago, like they've made nine whole movies,
had a ton of television shows like, yeah, The Avengers
was a big, big deal, Like, I get it, that's
kind of recent. That's recent. I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (59:39):
A lot of shows have done Star Wars spin offs
and stuff.

Speaker 1 (59:42):
Well, so we have, we have, we have a couple
of movies for the Film Festival this offseason. Oh yeah,
it's gonna be one. Yeah, it's not for sure. So anyway,
happy birthday, dude, that's the longest shaking man. Happy. I
appreciate your birthday from DeMarco Farr as well. So anyway,
that will do it for this edition of the NFL
Fantasy Football Podcast. They happy, safe, it healthy, do good
and live well. Enjoy the week, everybody. We'll talk to

(01:00:03):
