Speaker 1 (00:09):
Medlife Stadium. He's brother for New Jersey. That is where
we are source, trust me, Bro. You'll see in just
a couple of seconds here, but there is what we
call a beautiful scenic of MetLife Stadium. Giants, Eagles, Thursday
Night football. Meanwhile over in London, but Bonito and the Jets.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah, that's El John. He is British. He's from there.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
The Broncos, the Jets getting ready to play the third
straight international game on a Sunday morning.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Our Sarah Watsh's there. We will check in with.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Her and Michael at Florio joins us later to tell
you whether to start him or sit him. That's what
he does every week. He's never ever, ever wrong. So
you're gonna want to stay tuned in for that. Welcome
outside with the insiders, I and Rappaport to my left,
Judy Batista over there in Manhattan, we have got the
New Jersey, New York area surrounded tennight ahead of Thursday
(00:58):
Night football. This all important game for the Eagles. They
need points, they need style points as well. They talked
about it this week and we're going to talk about
that coming up here. But we're going to talk about injuries. First,
Jalen Carter a late edition Ian with that heel injury questionable,
They're going to see how he looks pre game. I
know you talked about the MetLife Stadium turf being a factor,
but if all looks good, Jalen Carter will be a go.
(01:20):
You don't see Jackson Dart anywhere on that injury report.
He was limited early in the week, but he is
ready to go for the Giants in prime time, and
it is prime time. The Eagles, despite being the Super
Bowl champions, have not been in prime time very often
early in the season.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Ian, this is going to.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Be a time where the spotlight is on them, and
that is at a time where they've got to get
right on offense.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
We've talked a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
About AJ Brown and Jalen Hurts and not being on
the same page. They had the powwow earlier in the week.
This is a team with the Giants that plays a
lot of man coverage. That talked about this on the
show last night. That's what you want to see if
you're the Eagles, because the talk has been how much
zone coverage, which has been given them a problem.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Well, they're going to see a lot of man tonight.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
And they're going to see those chances to make a play,
make a throw to aj Brown, Judy, they have got
to do that. If they are going to get it
moving in the right direction offensively.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Well, you know what also would help them get moving
in the right direction offensively would be to get Saquon
Barkley going. This has been a much different start to
the season for Saquon than last season was. He's averaging
just over fifty three yards per game. That's twenty fifth
in the league, nowhere near what he was doing at
this time last season, only three point two yards per rush.
(02:33):
He was on the injury report earlier this week with
the sortinee. It's nothing. The offense is clearly still searching
for itself. Offensive line injuries have certainly contributed to this.
The Giants are struggling on run defense. Dexter Lawrence said
it out loud this week. They do not want to
be the ones to let Saquon get hot. We know
that he has gotten hot against his former team last season.
(02:55):
The Giants would like to keep him ice cold for now.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
No doubt, Judy, If Seguon Barkley ends this game with
six carries, something has gone badly badly wrong again for
the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Meanwhile, on the other.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Side of this, this is going to be the first
time a lot of the country is going to be
able to see Jackson Dart, the new starting quarterback for
the New York Giants. If you're in the New York,
New Jersey area, as we literally are right now, we
have heard plenty.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
We have seen plenty.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
We sort of know what to expect since his much
heralded and very exciting debut.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Going to run around a lot.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
He's going to make some big throws, He's going to
get in harm's way and then generally get out of it.
The country has not seen Jackson Dart. What a perfect time,
Mike for him to announce himself to the world against
the Champs. He goes out, has a really solid performance
without in the Leak neighbors, without Darius Slayton. This will
be the kind of thing that can really vault him
(03:46):
into the stratosphere and kind of help him become the
kind of national name that franchise quarterbacks want to be.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
Assuming that's what he is for the Giants.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I'll give you the matchup within the matchup, Jackson Dart
against the Eagles defensive tackles has been a lot of that.
We just saw the shovel pass up the middle, some
of those runs designed up the middle.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
There's a lot of beef.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
In the middle of the Eagles defensive line, particularly if
Jalen Carter does play tonight. So escaping there and getting
through there is going to be a big key for
this Giant's offense if they're going to go back to
the well on some of that stuff. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens,
they've had a lot of bad injury news of late,
and it continues at the quarterback position. Lamar Jackson once
again not starting Ian. I think you nailed this from
(04:24):
the beginning. You said he might be out through the
bye week, and I'm not just saying that because you're
standing next to me, because that looks like that's going
to wind up being the case. Get healthy, not only
Lamar Jackson, but a lot of guys on that roster.
Hit the post by week schedule, pick up some wins there.
But for now it is looking like Cooper Rush once again.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Not a surprise that I nailed it. I generally seem
to do that.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Let's talk about another one that is yet to be
nailed down this The Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback Kyler Murray
d NP at practice again today. That means that he
did not participate. That's what the initial stand for, Judy.
It is a foot sprain for Kyler Murray. Really remains
to be seen or not he can go. Not considered
to be a major injury. But if he doesn't practice tomorrow,
(05:04):
not going to play on Sunday, Judy, you know who else?
Speaker 3 (05:07):
DNP Chris Godwin, the Bucks receiver. He mispracticed Thursday after
also missing it on Wednesday. He has a fibular injury.
Todd Bowle sort of downplayed the entire thing, saying I'm
pretty sure he was sore, but he was seen limping
at the end of the game against Seattle. That was
only a second game back from the dislocated ankle that
ended the twenty twenty four season. This could certainly be
(05:30):
a maintenance issue as they bring him back into form.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
We will see if he can go against the forty
nine ers.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
Meanwhile, last night we had a trade, actually we had
a couple of trades over the last.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Several days, but a fascinating one last night, a corner trade.
It was the Jacksonville Jaguars trading Tyson Campbell and a
pick for Greg Newsom and a pick.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Now my understanding of this one.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Mike, it was more about play style and fifth than
anything else. Tyson Camble probably fits a little bit better
for the brown Man scheme, Greg Newsom a little more
comfortable and zone a swap of starting corners to spice
up both teams.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Five years five L's a very symmetrical doo all there
for counting some He's already got it down. Meanwhile, the
International Series continues in the London, presented by netap Bo
Nicks and the Broncos versus Sauce Conner and the Jets, Sunday,
nine thirty am Eastern only on NFL Network and streaming

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Four terms.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Sarah Walsh, She's in London, Jolly old London.
Speaker 7 (06:39):
Street from Enfield Town. We are about twenty miles outside
of London. This is the training facility of Tottenham Hotspurs,
a world class facility that today the Broncos called home
at least for practice. And the Broncos arrived here straight
off a plane from Philadelphia, where they just upended the
defending Super Bowl champions on Sunday in dramatic fashion. It
(07:02):
was a come from behind victory. The Broncos were down
seventeen to three when that fourth quarter started and bo
Nicks engineered a flawless fourth quarter, went nine to ten,
one hundred and twenty seven yards and a touchdown on
Now he's going to try to keep that momentum going.
He did say that resources change, locations change. When it
comes to being here in London, you have to make do.
(07:23):
But he said it is definitely not a normal week.
It helps when you have a defense like he does.
His Broncos lead the league in sacks with twenty one.
Nick Benito named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week
this week. And now they take on Justin Fields and
a Jets team that just hopes a change of location,
maybe a change of scenery can get some things going
(07:44):
as they are still looking for their first win of
the season. We will be at Jets practice tomorrow.
Speaker 8 (07:50):
The Sunshine Frankly of the Pacific Northwest Buccaneers, where the
greensickle orangein woight dropping Mafias Ago deep looks hard.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
The Handzel.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Touch outs have away, Maakefield lays it right at his lack.
Speaker 8 (08:14):
Baker Mayfield was just as hot as he filled the
entire ballgame.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Those uniforms are so awesome, best throwback uniforms.
Speaker 9 (08:23):
In the NFL.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Baker Mayfield is not so bad either, and neither is
this guy. Brian Baldinger joins the show. The Bucks are
seventh in scoring in the league. I'm not sure any
of us had that in our preseason predictions, Baldy, What
are you seeing from them?
Speaker 10 (08:39):
Well, you know, if you're gonna wear the creamsicles and
you know, look good, you better play good.
Speaker 11 (08:43):
And that's what they did in Seattle week go.
Speaker 10 (08:45):
But you know, this Baker led offense is just so
much fun to watch because there's a rhythm to it,
there's a design to it, and there's an execution to it,
and it was on display and they needed all of
it to beat Seattle last week thirty eight thirty five.
But you watched Johnson come in motion to basically a
three receiver side, a trip side. They're gonna take these
(09:05):
two slot receivers and they're just gonna run him down
the field and take his many Seahawks with them to
open up this window.
Speaker 11 (09:11):
Behind it.
Speaker 10 (09:12):
It's good design and then Baker's able to step up
and hit the rookie Tes Johnson. But it starts with
the protection and it helps that they got their own
world left tackle back in Tristan Wirfs along with Britison
that left guard and Barton at center, and now Baker's
protected on the backside. He can really step in and
drive this throw to Tes Johnson. But then you know,
(09:33):
the rookie Buka has just been sensational. I think his
as good a route runner as there is in the NFL,
and they like to attack vertically with them. Right here, Baker,
it's like t ball here. He just put the ball
on the tee to Buka and it's a touchdown. And
then you know, then there's this Baker and you know
he's just got magical feet. He keeps these plays alive constantly,
(09:54):
but his eyes are downfield. He's looking to throw first,
run second. But here he finds his tight end Kate
Otton right here, and then getting Tristan Wurf's back and
Barton back in their places.
Speaker 6 (10:05):
They're just so athletic.
Speaker 10 (10:06):
He get on the outside here and you know Tristan's
not going to just block one seahawk. He's going to
get to Barton's going to get to the middle linebacker,
and Rashad White's going to walk in the end zone
for a seven yard touchdown run.
Speaker 11 (10:19):
This offense is dynamic. It's minus some key pieces still.
Speaker 10 (10:23):
I mean, Bucky Irving didn't play, Mike Evans didn't play,
and you wouldn't really know it. The next guys have
stepped up. They've juggled the offense line all year. They're
getting healthier there. But the one constant is Baker and
his leadership and the way that he commands this offense.
Speaker 11 (10:39):
He's large and in charge.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
They haven't even been intact yet and they are one
of the most fun offenses to watch thanks to Baker, Mayfield, Baldy.
Speaker 12 (10:48):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Stacy Dails. What's happening Stace? You spend a lot of
time around this Colts team. What's his confidence that they
have right now? That the way that they're playing on
both sides of the ball. For with DJ Danny Dimes,
I guess he wasn't the DJ there. How high is
this confidence for this team right now?
Speaker 13 (11:08):
Thank you for giving some love to the Indianapolis Colts
who are five and one and don't look now, Mike.
Speaker 9 (11:13):
They are the number one.
Speaker 13 (11:13):
Seed currently in the AFC, and there's a lot of
football to play, but they certainly are winning. For Jim Ersa,
the late great Jim Mersay, I'm so happy we're doing
a segment on them because they're off to their best
start since two thousand and nine. And I was actually
doing a radio show this week and Danny Dimes that's
his nickname, but we're calling them Indiana Jones around here.
David Hawk great one on that he's playing spectacular football.
(11:37):
He is executing exactly what Shane Stikeen is asking him
to do. And the Colts couldn't be more thrilled internally
within their walls.
Speaker 9 (11:45):
As far as just this offense.
Speaker 13 (11:48):
If you look at the lower third there, I mean,
they've been so explosive.
Speaker 9 (11:52):
Baldy just broke down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 13 (11:54):
But we're talking about a Colts offense that's currently averaging
thirty three points per game. That guy than Taylor has
been elite, extraordinary allah his twenty twenty one season, and
they have punted the football listen to this just seven
times this season. That's the best mark in the NFL.
It's because they're scoring so prolifically. They've given up the
(12:15):
fewest sacks in the league. I believe it is four,
So they're protecting Danny Dimes or Indiana Jones, and it's
been really fun to watch. But you know, I was
there at training camp, Mike, and you spend some time
watching Tyler Warren and how they're deploying him and Jonathan
Taylor the running back. It's been very simple and easy
to watch them because they've asked Daniel Jones to execute
(12:39):
this offense, get the ball out and let those guys
go and rip around the field. And that's exactly what's
happening there in Indianapolis in their building. Their confidence is
really off the charts right now.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
The Colts with a chance to continue that hot start
to the season, potentially against the familiar face in Jacoby Brissett.
We'll see what happens with him and Kyler Murray as
the week goes on. Stacey Dale's don't go far, You're
coming back here on.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
The Insiders Giants Eagles.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
There's a night football just a short time away. Don't
forget to check out that prime video pregame show while
also simultaneously watching NFL game day preview because gihim to kickoff.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Yep, that's the show. I'm what's the show you're on?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
He was trying to hype you up, and I screwed
up my own promo. Here, Mike Cross, get in here.
You work for both of these teams.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
The Eagles appreciate you though. Thanks the Eagles and the Giants.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Let's start on Saquon Barkley, a guy that the Eagles
are having trouble right now getting involved. They've got injuries
on the offensive line. I know that that's been a
factor for them. How did they get Saquon going here?
Speaker 14 (13:43):
Yeah, well it's a collective effort there for the whole offense.
Where really, Mike, as you know down here in Philly.
I mean, they're just going nuts all season long about
what's wrong with the offense? Why is it broken? And
it's almost shocking to see Saquon with he been getting
the ball. He's fourth in the league in attempts, but
only twenty second in yards and that's because that only
that three point two average and his long run is
(14:05):
only seventeen. So we haven't seen the explosive plays we've seen.
The Eagles have inconsistent halfs inconsistent quarters of what they
can do. Of course, the offensive line is banged up.
I think that hasn't been emphasized enough. And they lost
Makai Beckton, so you're at one of those key pieces
that has gone. And then the injuries with Lane Johnson
and Landon Dickerson has affected the whole scheme of the
(14:27):
continuity of that up front. But again, I think it's
only a matter of time before it kind of gels.
Much like last year. We're worried about the Eagles, what's
going on, and you know they can't move, they can't
do this, and all of a sudden they start putting
it together. They have the talent the coaching to put
it together. Any one of these games, probably tonight.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
Mark.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Let's talk about the other team that you work for,
the New York Giants one in one. Since Jackson Dart
took over and his bid to be their franchise quarterback,
a lot to like some of the turnovers, maybe not
liking as much. What do you expect, Slash Hope to see.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
From the Giants tonight?
Speaker 14 (15:03):
Yeah, I think lost in the Giants season and the
quarterback changes and all that is that they're just not
playing good football. I mean, when you're under man, you
got to play good football. They're thirtieth or last in
the league in penalty yards, they're thirty first in total penalties.
They're thirtieth in turnover negative turnover differential. So not only
are they struggling with okay, who's going to be playing quarterback,
(15:25):
who's in and out, but they just haven't played clean
games and they're at the bottom of the league in
those important aspects of penalties and turnovers. So they have
to give themselves a chance tonight, of course against the
better teams of Hey, let's not hurt ourselves and then
see if maybe if we're under man we can.
Speaker 6 (15:43):
Still make something happen.
Speaker 14 (15:45):
So play clean football, and then hope that that front,
who has shown flashes of showing up the defensive front
can take advantage of those injuries that we talked about
on the Eagles front and get after Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
The Giants have struggle against the Eagles in recent years.
They've struggled in prime time in recent years. I mean
they struggled, struggle. I guess that's tough going for years.
So let's see how it all plays out. Mark Ross Judy.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
All right, Week.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Six, this is a good matchup Bears Commanders. Anybody remember
how this matchup ended last season. I'm sure nobody is
talking about it and Conquer the Night. I kind of
like the red Tinge there to this. Let's bring back
our Stacey Dales to talk about this game.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Stacy.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
The Commanders are the top team in rushing one hundred
and fifty six yards average so far this season. I
bet they're going to want to crank that up against
the Bears.
Speaker 13 (16:38):
Right, They're most certainly going to want to crank it
up against the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 9 (16:42):
It's going to be a really good game. Let's keep
it in the NFC.
Speaker 6 (16:44):
Judy.
Speaker 13 (16:45):
This Bears team, though defensively they have struggled mightily against
the run. They're giving up nearly one sixty five on
the ground against now on Monday, the number one, as
you alluded to, rushing offense in football, and they have
been really special. The rookie Crosskey Merit five yards after contact.
He has been so good on the ground with the
(17:06):
ball seven yards per carries, right at the tops, right
at the top of the league in terms of how
he's running the ball. And then Jaden Daniels coming off
his best performance really against the Chargers in which was
a massive road victory.
Speaker 9 (17:18):
And I actually just.
Speaker 13 (17:19):
Got off the phone with Deebo Samuel, who's been so
good for them already with his new family there in Washington,
and he has fit right into this thing. But they
all point at one guy, and that's JD five. When
he's able to run the football, they are just dynamic
on the ground because.
Speaker 9 (17:35):
We know what he can do Judy with his arm.
Speaker 13 (17:36):
I spoke with Kevin Byrd with these Bears this week,
and the run defense has been a problem for Chicago
and they have to right that ship. As he explained
it to me, Listen, we're the worst in the league.
He told me that on the phone. They have taken
full accountability. They are coming off the buy and they
are hoping to go in there and fix some things.
Speaker 9 (17:53):
They have to be better in their run fits.
Speaker 13 (17:55):
They have to get off blocks, and with JD five
running the football, you can block everybody up, which makes
it that much more challenging. As Deebo and I talked about,
when he's running the ball, that entire offense opens up.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
I am not sure that these two teams are going
to be able to match. How last season's version of
this game ended. I can remember where I was my
good and I saw that hail Mary. I'm sure you
remember it as well, Stacy. How are the teams talking
about it this week?
Speaker 13 (18:25):
Well, Tyrek Stevenson would love to stop talking about it.
Speaker 9 (18:28):
This was an infamous moment.
Speaker 13 (18:30):
That was a fifty two yard touchdown hail Mary throw
to Noah Brown and all precipitated by Tyrek Stevenson over
jawing with some of the fans there in Washington. And
he talked about that moment yesterday. He actually said, even
when my son grows up, I'm going to have to
explain it to him. He wants to forget about it.
(18:52):
And it changed the trajectory of the season for the
Chicago Bears. They went one in ten in their final
eleven games. Look at Dan Quinn, he's just blown up
away by it. As we were, Judy, the Bears had
a four and two record going into that game, also
coming off the buy. So this is eerily similar, right,
deja vous a little bit? Although these are different teams.
(19:12):
Ben Jonson, the head coach of these Bears, talked about
how they're different at this point, you know, in terms
of you know, he's the new coach there, there's a
new regime, and Caleb Williams is playing pretty good football,
so they got.
Speaker 9 (19:24):
To go in with a mindset to a race last year.
Speaker 13 (19:27):
But I think if you're Tyreek Stevenson, for him, this
is a huge game, right You remember as an athlete moments,
You remember good moments and you remember bad moments, and
he has been so accountable in terms of how bad
that moment was for him talking with his teammates this week,
he wants to go in and have an outstanding performance
and really, Judy, he's their best corner right now. He
(19:49):
has to have a great performance because we know how
good this Washington offense can be.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Well, the Bears certainly want the rest of the season
to go much better than the season went last year.
After the hail, Mary Stacey Dales, thank you very much.
When we return on The Insiders, it is not too
late to set your fantasy lineup for tonight and for the.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
Rest of the week.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
For that marrig matter, Michael f Florio is going to
join the show to talk starts and sits for tonight
and the rest of Week six.
Speaker 15 (20:18):
Coming up next, A Neil Johnson makes the cap friend
of the upper really called dot Quoddy touch down Giant and.
Speaker 16 (20:34):
It is cut Marthy a poor sideline and he took
down Giants.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Hurts has time, Jakes.
Speaker 10 (20:43):
Up, Jalen Hurts, toun down Philadelphia Flator, the Cole line down.
Speaker 6 (20:48):
Giants, Tam Scannaboo.
Speaker 16 (20:50):
He's doting for Crown touchdown touch down. Tell us flow
Eagles take believe.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Offensive fireworks. Will we see them tonight?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
That's the kind of question we ask our guy, Michael.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
F Fourioh, it is time for.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
His starts in six starts and sits for Week six
in the NFL, starting with there's an football, as we
always do and always.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Starting with the positive. Who are we starting tonight? We're
starting you two.
Speaker 16 (21:21):
You guys are looking Davered today.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
I also think we know.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
You guys might make.
Speaker 16 (21:28):
Cam Wolf sirt sport this week. I also think we're
starting AJ Brown tonight. I've called my shot on Fantasy Live.
I think this is the AJ Brown redemption game, partly
because he's been doing his job. He had success last
week against Patrick Sartan. He got open downfield on a
throw that should have been a fifty plus hoar touchdown
if he wasn't overthrown, so he is doing his job.
(21:52):
They had the players only meeting all of that. But
the whole reason I.
Speaker 12 (21:55):
Think he's gonna go off tonight is the matchup.
Speaker 16 (21:57):
The Giants have allowed the second most yards to water
reivers and they've allowed the third most on deep asses.
Speaker 6 (22:03):
So I think this is the game.
Speaker 16 (22:05):
Where AJ Brown starts to look like AJ Brown, And
I think at the end of the year, we're going
to look back and be like Week six is where
he started to pick it up. On the other side,
I think you could start camp Skataboo, who just absolutely
captivated this New York market right now. I mean because
they have nothing else going on right There's no Yankees
to root for anymore. So Cam Scattabu's sixteenth Fantasy points
(22:26):
per game in his last four, with at least thirteen
in each in that span. He is fourth and goal
line carries and the Eagles they've allowed a touchdown to
running backs in each of the last three games. And
what I really love about Skataboo when they are down,
he gets used in the passing game.
Speaker 12 (22:41):
When they are winning, they grind.
Speaker 16 (22:44):
The clock by giving him lots of carries, so he
is safe volume. He to me is one of the
safest RB twos in fantasy right now.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
FLA, that's a great point.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Cam Skatabou for sure does not suck, and the Yankees
for sure do. As far as the other side of
this thing, Why don't you take us through who he
should sit for tonight's game, including, by the way, the
Yankees for sitting home since they lost.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Yeah, my Yankee fan.
Speaker 16 (23:08):
Friends are like oh Wan Sotos in Cancun. Yes, so
are So's Aaron Judge. He's going to be joining them
there today. They'll be sipping mohedos or something like that.
I think Jackson Dart, though, he is someone that I
am really excited about this season. I think it's okay
to try to sit him tonight though, because while I
think he is QB one upside the rest of the
(23:28):
way because of what he does with his legs. This
is a short week game against a very tough Eagles defense,
an Eagles defense that has given a lot of veteran
quarterbacks fits this year. Oh it's Jackson Dart on his
third start in an NFL on a short week. It
just seems like a bad spot to kind of put
him in. Now, if you're in a pinch and you
(23:49):
want to take the shot on his legs. I get it,
but there's it's a good streaming week for quarterbacks like
Bryce Young is a really good option, so I don't
think you need to force Jackson Dart into your lineup.
And then I'm sitting Wandel Robinson. Look, Week two was
so much fun, right Since then, thirty yards or fewer
in every game, he is yet to reach nine Fantasy points,
(24:11):
and he does a lot of his damage from the slot.
Speaker 12 (24:13):
No team has allowed.
Speaker 16 (24:14):
Fewer yards to slot receivers this year than the Eagles,
and on those passes two slot receivers, they've only allowed
a league low completion percentage of fifty three percent. So
it's not even like you can bank on him racking
up catches like you normally can. So with the floor
being low and the ceiling not really being high as
of late, I think it's okay to get Wandell onto
your benches.
Speaker 12 (24:34):
Tonight.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
I picked up Wandale. I picked up Darius Slayton. Slayton
not gonna play tonight, and Florio says, don't start one
del one more week and.
Speaker 12 (24:44):
Rice is back. That's all we're waiting for.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
One more more week me to get a win. I'm
back to five hundred. Not you your team.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
Snub, but I dig get it.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
When Wandale, that's a guy that you recognize only by
saying one name, like I know who you mean, Wandal.
So is this guy As we now go to the
weekend in the NFL, Bill, are we starting Bill?
Speaker 8 (25:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (25:05):
I think you're starting Bill this week.
Speaker 16 (25:06):
When I was putting together the start sit names the
last Sunday for this week, I was like, Bill, that's
going to be a sneaky start. And then he had
his career day, went for one hundred and fifty yards,
two touchdowns, and twenty seven fantasy points.
Speaker 12 (25:18):
It's not as sneaky, but it is still a start.
Speaker 16 (25:21):
He currently leads all of running backs in yards per
carry and yards after contact, and that's big because the
Bears they allow the most yards per carry and the
most yards after contact, well the second in that one,
but at the highest rate in the NFL right now.
And they also have allowed explosive runs at the highest rate,
so it is a great matchup. It is a player
(25:41):
that is starting to take his own and kind of
ascend in the NFL, and at practice today they were
doing receiving drills with him.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
So that gets you excited.
Speaker 12 (25:49):
If you're in a PPR league as well, ooh.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
That is exciting. What about this one?
Speaker 4 (25:55):
Brian Thomas Junior, not one name, got three names, He's
got two names. He's got you know, or of whatever.
The junior thing is an abbreviation on the back. Kind
of a weird one. Suffix suffix, you might say, kind
of a weird one.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
This year.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Are we starting or sitting Brian Thomas Junior for the Jags?
Speaker 6 (26:10):
I'm leaning towards sid.
Speaker 16 (26:12):
I'll say he's not a must sit, like he is
not someone you're sitting for, like Parker Washington or someone
like that.
Speaker 12 (26:19):
And I know some people are like, well.
Speaker 16 (26:20):
He's coming off his season best Fantasy game. That is
the issue, because he had twelve Fantasy points last week.
Speaker 12 (26:26):
That should be his floor, not his ceiling.
Speaker 16 (26:29):
Right now, he has the sixth highest rate of uncatchable
targets in the NFL, and Seattle has been very tough
on out wide wide receivers, in fact, on passes to
them two touchdowns, allowed five interceptions this year, and Thomas
plays over seventy percent of his routes out wide, So
I don't love the matchup again, not a must sit.
But if you have an option of getting away, I
(26:49):
think you should take it.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
At the end of this segment, we usually have Hey,
here's a question I have about my own team. But
he hit Wandell, he hit aj Brown, and I'm about
to ask him about tree On Henderson.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
This is the sixth week in arly, this is this
six week in.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Earw He's gonna tell me to start.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
I'm not even gonna go ahead, go ahead, start him,
start them.
Speaker 12 (27:08):
Uh look, I'm giving him another chance this week.
Speaker 16 (27:10):
But because situation has changed, I was all ready to
just give up. And then unfortunately Antonio Gibson is now
out for the year. And Antonio Gibson, to me, was
what made this backfield unusable for fantasy. We can navigate
two running backs. Three makes it very murky and get
like when you look at the way the work is distributed.
(27:33):
This year, Henderson leads that backfield in targets, He's not
that far behind Stevenson.
Speaker 12 (27:37):
In carries.
Speaker 16 (27:38):
He has been their best outside zone runner this year.
He is I will say it's not He's not just
a victim of usage. He is struggling on carries up
the middle. But get this guy the ball in space,
give him some carry catches out of the backfield. But
with it being a favorable matchup against the Saints, they
struggle in the air and on the ground against running backs,
game script should be on his side. I'm giving him
(28:00):
another chance, and I'll tell you this.
Speaker 12 (28:02):
They get the.
Speaker 16 (28:02):
Titans next week, I'm not going to tell you to
sit him against the Titans next week.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
No fury, you're going to come on here and tell
us to start every single week? What about this one?
Speaker 4 (28:10):
We promoed you early in the show showing a clip
of Tyler Warren, the Colts standout tight end.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
We are starting right This.
Speaker 12 (28:20):
Is the sixth raight week.
Speaker 16 (28:21):
I'm sitting in this newsroom and telling you to play
Tyler Warren. I get questions weekly like should I start him?
And yes, I'm never gonna tell you to sit him
because right now he is on pace for the third
most yards and fourth most Fantasy points by a rookie
tight end in NFL histories.
Speaker 12 (28:40):
And it is a good matchup the Cardinals.
Speaker 16 (28:42):
They've allowed the fifth most yards to tight ends. And
what I really love, they're letting him throw the ball
a little bit They're letting him run the ball a
little bit. It's how he was used in college. He
is a weapon that could do everything on the football field.
I am happy that they are utilizing him in that way.
I wish some other coaches would utilize rookies a little
bit differently. Trevon Henderson, But Tyler Warren, you were one
(29:04):
that absolutely has to be started in fantasy.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
Here's one that I got to wonder when the last
time he was possibly in a segment like this, and
maybe it was last week and I just forgot. I
don't know, because it hasn't been a great year. But
Derrick Henry start or sit Dereck Henry. And by the way,
I think Patrick Ricard the fullback is the most underrated
of all the Ravens injuries right now.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
He's a big part of what they do in the
running game.
Speaker 16 (29:24):
So Derek Henry, Yeah, I've never once in the four
years I've written and starts it has said to sit
King Henry. But this week, unfortunately, I am partly because
of what you said with Ricard there Orio and is
banged up, and last week without Lamar Jackson he had
it was one of the fewest light boxes he has
seen since he's joined the Ravens. It led to his
(29:46):
third fewest yards before contact and second worst yards per
carry as a Raven and the Rams they've allowed the
fifth fewest yards before contact, two running backs, yet to
allow a touchdown. And on top of all of that,
when the race evens fall behind, we see less Serrik Henry,
we see more Justice Hill as the pass catching back.
Falling behind to a powerful Rams offense feels very in
(30:08):
the range of outcomes this week, So it's very circumstantial.
It's because Lamar isn't playing, but I do think it
is a week where you could try to get rid
of it. Away from the King.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
All right, now the selfish part of the program where
we ask about our own teams.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
I've got a dilemma.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
The London game is always kind of sort of weird
to me, a lot of times lower scoring. I've got
both of the quarterbacks in the London game.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I don't know which.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
One to start because you got justin Fields. I know
you love fields, but that's a tough defense he's going
up against. And then bo Nix is like, Okay, you're
gonna get a solid performance, not a spectacular one.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
There's nothing on the waiver wire. So which way do
I go on this one?
Speaker 16 (30:43):
I would lean Nix. I have Justin Field. You know
I love Justin Fields every day this summer. I joined
this show and set.
Speaker 12 (30:49):
To draft him.
Speaker 16 (30:50):
I have him as a sit this week because of
the matchup. The Jensil line has allowed pressure of fifty
percent of the time. The Broncos have generated pressure at
the second highest rate.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
Then they have one of the best.
Speaker 16 (31:00):
Secondary is they have certain that could take out Garrett Wilson.
But I will say this, Mike, if you feel like
you need a home run, hit, Justin Fields is your
play because bo Knicks is like that safe like eighteen
to twenty points.
Speaker 12 (31:12):
Fields is the all or nothing play this week.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
I mean, if if I don't start him an he
runs for like a fifty yard touchdown. These people are
gonna be coming home from church on Sunday morning and
they're gonna hear some not so godly words coming out
of my windows.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
Go ahead would not be the first time or the
last time for you, Mike.
Speaker 6 (31:27):
All right.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
More importantly, what about my team. I'm in to a
league that starts two quarterbacks. I got Joe Flacco. Now
he's gonna be on my bench. But now he's just
starting quarterback at the Bengals. He's got Jamar, he's got
t Should I start Joe Flacco this week?
Speaker 12 (31:43):
I would say, no, who are your other options?
Speaker 6 (31:46):
Though?
Speaker 4 (31:48):
I mean, I got Stafford, I got Jaden. I'm just
God for what he goes out there and throws for
like three hundred yards Stafford.
Speaker 16 (31:55):
I mean, I think he's a must start this week
against that really banged up Ravens offense that is top
two and fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. There's no way
I'm sitting Jaden in the battle of the last year's
draft quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Flacco is new there.
Speaker 16 (32:06):
Yes the weapons are an upgrade, but okay, welcome to Cincinnati.
Now you got to worry about Michaeh Parson and the
Green Bay defense. Like I'm taking a very strong wait
and the approach with all of my Bengals that are
not named Jamar. Chase's Michael F. Florio read all his
starts and sits.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Although pretty much Thicky covered every Yeah, that's quite the
long segment of Florio not the Ivan felt.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
Like anyway, click you don't have to rehab a click.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Cut it starts it NFL dot com starts it, go
see everything he's got to say about starts it, or
just rewind his whole segment and just review it.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Michael A.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
F Florio, love youa pal, Jody Batista takeaway.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Here, We've got the Raiders practicing in anticipation of their
Week six game against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are
trying to win two in a row. They're coming off
their first victory of the season, that wild one over
the Cardinals last week. You know who's going to be
at that game, Our guy, Brian Baldinger. He is calling
that game, so he is going to get to see
cam Ward up close. I know that means you've been
(33:02):
studying the rookie. What have you seen from him so far?
Speaker 11 (33:07):
Well, I'll tell you this, Judy, he plays the game
with no fear.
Speaker 10 (33:10):
I mean the throws that he makes or attempts, like
he's not bashful about attacking the field. Now, you know,
the stats don't bear out a great you know start
for him right now. They've had a lot of changes
in the offensive line and a lot of injuries. But regardless,
like this guy has a command, he presents himself well,
he gets out of harm's.
Speaker 6 (33:31):
Way, very good.
Speaker 10 (33:33):
You see him on the sideline with the defenses on
the field, he's the one picking guys up when he
comes near the sideline, he's you know, he's supporting all
of his guys. He's he looks like a leader out there.
And now it's just a question of putting more plays together.
That one, that little tight end delay to all kuranco
the tight end.
Speaker 11 (33:51):
They just need to make more plays.
Speaker 10 (33:52):
Right now they've gotten you know, Taja Spears back at
running back, So now they've got a won two punch
with Tony Pollard.
Speaker 11 (33:57):
That should help a little bit.
Speaker 10 (33:59):
But you know, the Raiders they've lost for in a row,
and it seems like that victory against the Patriots Week
one was a long long time ago. There's been some dissension,
it sounds like between the coaches and the play calling.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Last week.
Speaker 10 (34:12):
They tried to feed Ashton Genty a lot, but you know,
they threw some interceptions, They had the punt block. They
gave the Colts basically good field position, and the Colts
took advantage of it. They scored, you know, on six
straight touchdown drives, which is almost unheard of in this business.
And so I would think that the defense will rise
up this week knowing that you know, this offensive Tennessee
(34:33):
has struggled with the rookie quarterback.
Speaker 6 (34:35):
But also know that.
Speaker 10 (34:36):
This kid cam Ward, now, like I said, he plays
with no fear, like he's going to take his shots
down the field. Now, whether Calvin Ridley or Tyler Lockett
can go get it and catch it, you know, in
traffic or whatever, that remains to be seen. But he's
not going to put his head in the sand and
bury himself.
Speaker 11 (34:52):
That guy.
Speaker 10 (34:53):
That guy can flush a bad play as well as
quickly as anybody, and I think he's learning on the
job pretty good.
Speaker 11 (35:00):
I give the Titans a fighting chance in this game
right now.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
Here's sure five big games for Week six. Every week
I look at this graphic and I think it's six games,
but it's only five. And of course it is headlined
by the early one out of London, Broncos, Jets, you've
got the I'm going to try to read them all, Lions, Chiefs,
is the right, Seahawks, Jaguars. I can't even see Bears, Commanders.
We just talked about that forty nine Ers Bucks. It
(35:27):
still looks like six to me, but it is definitely
five we're going.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
Back to London.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Ar Sarah Walsh caught up with Nicko Finito.
Speaker 7 (35:35):
Congratulations the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. What has
changed for you in your game that has allowed you
to break out in the manner in which you have
this season?
Speaker 17 (35:45):
Yeah, I man, just you know, probably I would say
the way I'm studying film and just my practice habits
and things like that. I feel like it's kind of
taking a jump and you know, I've kind of gotten
smarter with that and being able to make more plays
against certain things.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
So I would say the acum of both of those teams.
Speaker 7 (36:01):
What does a game that you won in the manner
in which you guys wanted to come from behind victory
and this was on the defensive side, I mean, you
guys harassed Jalen Hurts six sacks. What does that do
for a team going forward the rest of the season.
Speaker 12 (36:16):
Yeah, it's a big confidence boost to the team.
Speaker 17 (36:19):
You know, Obviously going into a Super Bowl Champs house
and winning on the road, you know, that's that's a
big deal. So I mean, you know, just taking that
and kind of building off fit and it's gonna be
real good for us that we were able to have
that experience and when don't win that for sure.
Speaker 7 (36:32):
I know you don't really have time to sight see,
but give me the best part of being over here
in London so far.
Speaker 17 (36:40):
I would just say the many different type of restaurants
that they had here. I mean we went to like
two on Monday and Tuesday that were pretty good. So
I would just say, like the different variety of foods
they have.
Speaker 9 (36:50):
For sure, enjoy the trip.
Speaker 12 (36:52):
We'll see you out there on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
Good luck against the Jet, Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
World class restaurants seeing in London for sure. The International
Series Can tinues in London, presented by net app bo
Nix and the Broncos versus Saucegargner and the Jets Sunday,
nine thirty am Eastern only on NFL Network and streaming
with NFL Plus. Subscription required for NFL Plus visit plus
dot NFL dot com for terms. We are still weeks
(37:19):
away from the trade deadline and we have had a
flurry of activity. How about this a trade for cornerbacks?
Just swapping cornerbacks and draft picks. The Jags and Browns
made it official today announced it. We've already had so
much action, but there's probably so much more to go.
That's why we have our Mark Ross back here. Certainly,
(37:40):
as we get closer and closer to the deadline and
we sort of figure out the fates of some of
these teams, you would think that some players are going
to become available. Let's talk about Trey Hendrickson, who wanted
a trade in the off season, didn't get one. He's
still with the Bengals, but as their season goes into
decline without Joe Burrow, what's going to happen with Trey Hendrickson?
Speaker 7 (38:00):
Right?
Speaker 14 (38:00):
We had oh so much fun talking about Trey Henderson
in the offseason getting traded. Judy, will he get a
new contract? So let's get it going again. And look,
it's almost the same as last year, where Trey Henderson
is playing at a high level, leads a team with
four sacks, but the Bengals defense is abysmal again, I
mean thirtieth and points per game and thirtieth in yards
giving up. So yes, he's playing it well, but he
(38:22):
really isn't making the impact. But because the entire defense
isn't any good. And now, when you look at the
landscape of the Bengals season, is pretty much overwit. I
know they traded for Joe Flacco. That means it'll be
over with as well. Like, that's not giving me any
hope that the season is going to turn around. So
the Bengals really need to look to the future. He
signed the one year, twenty nine million extension there. So
(38:44):
you know, there's still teams like the Detroit Lions, the
New England Patriots, the Dallas Cowboys and even San Francisco
who lost Bosa that'll need pass rush going down the
stretch if they want to be considered serious playoff or
Super Bowl contenders.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
Some of those teams cases.
Speaker 14 (39:01):
So hey, guys, somebody go get Trey Henderson and both
of your defense and make a run.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
All right, The Saints beat the Giants last week, but
you got to figure there may not be too many
more victories for the Saints this season. And you also
have to figure there's probably going to be a few
phone calls for Alvin Kamara.
Speaker 6 (39:17):
Yeah, you definitely would think so.
Speaker 14 (39:18):
And the Saints is as a whole have a lot
of older players that they need to have a fresh start.
Alvin Kamara, Cam Jordan, the Mario Davis, Taysom Hill. So
at some point they're going to have to say, you
know what, let's just start moving towards the future. Get
some draft picks because these guys still have some trade value.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
And Kamara is still playing well, but with KeAndre.
Speaker 14 (39:39):
Miller getting more and more carries and about to be
the air apparent, looks like he's a number one running back.
That there's other teams, you know, like Kansas City who
could be interesting, who can't run the ball at all.
Patrick Mahomes is still their leading rusher of the Washington
Washington Commanders. You know that Bill is doing very well,
but why not have Alvin Kamara there to have the
one two punch? And even Los Angeles Chargers, you know,
(40:01):
who have had injuries in the backfield, he could be
intriguing as well. So I think there's some good fits
for Alvin Kamara to make a trade for all Right.
Speaker 3 (40:09):
The Giants have said they are not going to trade
Jameis Winston, but is it possible that somebody could change
their minds.
Speaker 14 (40:16):
Look, when the Joe Flagos thing went down, Judea I said,
anything's possible.
Speaker 6 (40:20):
This shows you the desperation of.
Speaker 14 (40:22):
The quarterback market there for the Cincinnati Bengals. Indivision and
played him already, said yeah, we want him to maybe
even he's even worse than the guy we got, but
let's trade for him anyway, and Jameis wins. To me,
this makes too much sense because the Bengal situation showed
if you don't have a viable backup plan how bad
things can get. And we know Jamis can provide at
least one game of intrigue and one game of production
(40:43):
before he maybe falls off the cliff and starts throwing interceptions.
And he's third on the Giants Jeff depth chart. He's
been active every game, so what are they holding on
to him for. At this point, Jackson Dart is the guy.
They're going to play him as much as possible, of course,
unless he gets hurt and then Russ Wilson they still have.
I'm just not sure why Javis Winston is still on
(41:03):
the team, especially if someone will give up anything to
just say, let's have a guy in here just in
case our backup plan is what we think it is.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
We still have such a long way to go until
the trade deadline. I'm sure we're going to be talking
to you much more about this, Mark, but for now,
if you want to read more about Mark Ross's thoughts
on the trade situation. Check out NFL dot com Slash
Ross Mark. Thank you very much, and as we go
to break, we just want to remind you how you
can find us. We're basically everywhere all week. Monday we
(41:38):
are on the Fast Channel, we're a podcast, We're on YouTube. Tuesday, Wednesday,
Friday we are on NFL Network, and of course we're
always on NFL Plus and Thursday, like today, we are
on the NFL Fast Channel, NFL Plus and YouTube. Check
us out all week. We got you covered. When we
come back, we're going to talk about our poor friends.
(42:00):
She's having a day in London.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Across the pond, as one must say when they're playing
over there in London. Yes, it is looking like fall football.
That's exactly what it is. It's fall football in London.
Of course it looks like that justin fields bundled up.
We should be here too.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
It's a little chilly here at MetLife Stadium.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
And then there's Garrett Bowles who is looking. I mean,
he's a nice guy, really nice guy. It's very mean there.
I mean I've never lined up across from him, I've
only interviewed him, so I guess the people that line
up across no different Garrett balls than I do. But yeah,
not long until we're back. Don't forget Sunday morning. Now,
Sarah Walsh's over there. Our corresponded this week. The second
(42:47):
picture has killed me. She's crossing Abbey Road, as one
does when they go to London. I took that picture
as well, walking by myself. She was walking with her family.
There's four of them.
Speaker 6 (42:55):
Just like the.
Speaker 1 (42:55):
Beatles, turned her ankle bad in the second one stumbled
into her daughter. The best part is we showed this
on Good Morning Football. Oh no, don't show the replay again,
don't shut's too grizzly. Actually no, she's fine. She'll start
Sunday in London. Her husband Matt is behind her, does
not even flinch, like, not even reaching for In fact,
was pissed that she screwed up the picture.
Speaker 12 (43:16):
Judy, Poor Sarah.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
But I do like her coat and Abbey Roade is mussy.
It's awesome, but oh man, poor Sarah. Sh also had
the bumblebee situation today.
Speaker 12 (43:25):
It's a lot going on.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
Yeah, yeah, Sarah had a bumblebee land on her mid
report and Jamie just started screaming.
