Speaker 1 (00:09):
Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida, site of Thursday Night
Football Week nine between the Ravens and the Dolphins. Lamar Jackson, Yeah,
Action Jackson. He is back after missing three games. That
felt like about ten.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Lamar back. Good news for Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Which teams are gonna be buyers and sellers when it
comes to the trade deadline? Yeah, we are inside a
week to the deadline, one more game for most teams.
Some teams wanna buy. So who do we think is
going to buy? B uy or sell s el We'll
talk about that coming up. And Michael f Florio every
Thursday coming at you with these starts and the CITs,
not just for Thursday Night Football, but for the entire

(00:50):
weekend in the NFL Week nine, Start them, sit them.
You're gonna want to stay tuned for that. Welcome Inside
with the Insiders, Judy Battista and Ian Rappaport with me
Mike Garofolo, as we get you said for Thursday Night
Football and the weekend in the NFL. But I mentioned it,
it is Thursday Night Football with Lamar Jackson. I was

(01:11):
on with Kyle Brown on Good Morning Football. He's the
one that mentioned it's like it was only three games.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
It felt like an eternity.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Yeah, that's what happens when you're missing a guy who
is a perennial MVP candidate. Well, Lamar Jackson is back
for the Ravens. So all that talk about how bad
the play calling is and the personnel and all this stuff,
watch how much better everything looks. What's Lamar Jackson is
back on the field, and that is happening for Baltimore.
Tonight we head down to Miami. Our guy Cameron Wolf

(01:40):
is standing by to give us the latest on all
things Baltimore Miami. All of a sudden little bit of
researchence in the Dolphins as well, set the scene for
us camp.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, this is two teams who had rough first halves
that think that today is going to be the start
of a second half burst, and we'll start with Lamar
Jackson being back. I talked to Zay Flowers this week
and I asked him about Lamar. He said, Lamar la
Marvelous is back. All is well in Baltimore, He said,
we think the offense is going to be back to
how we have played at our peak. They also think

(02:11):
that Lamar is fully healthy. That's part of the reason
he wanted to sit out. He had never had a
hamstring injury before. He said, he's one hundred percent ready
to get back on the grass with his guys, So
don't think that you'll see any limitations with him running
the ball today. On the other side, as you mentioned,
Miami two and six, they were left from dead after
they lost to Cleveland. I was in the locker room
this week. The lightest mood I had seen all season

(02:33):
from these guys. They're joking about Tua wearing an advisor
with his eye. How does this happen? That sort of thing.
They've got back to playing physical football. Their offense coordinator
Frank Smith moved down to the field. They think that's
made a huge boost, and they think today they're going
to show in front of their home crowd that this
is the Dolphins team that they wanted to start the
year for. So a lot of opportunity for these two

(02:53):
teams to turn around their season.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
We were looking at this game cam is a possible
little opening for the potential for a coaching change, And
my how quickly that has changed in just a matter
of really one week, and the team not quitting on
Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Nobody really quits on a coach anymore. That's not really
a thing.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Camera Wolf with us for the rest of the program
and all through the covered tonight on the NFL Network.
So you want to stay locked here for some more
insight on this game. Yeah, bust out the pumpkins. Going
to see some fans and some costumes tonight because this
is the closest game to Halloween that we will see
in the NFL this year.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Ian, get on in here.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Let's talk about Lamar Jackson and the return to the
field and what it means for everybody, from offensive coordinator
Todd Munkin through all the players on offense.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
You know, if you look at the Ravens record, it's
not very good. Two and five. They win tonight, that's
three and five, Okay. That is close enough for the
Baltimore Ravens to be in touch with the ABC North lead.
And if you talk to people around the league, and
I know that, I'm sure Eric DaCosta has gotten some
of these call calls from other gms. They believe the
Ravens are very very firmly in it.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Take the win.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Last week, Snoopuntley did what he needed to do and
now you have a fully healthy, ready to go Lamar Jackson.
The start of the season did not go well enough
for anyone. I think that is obvious. But Lamar comes back,
the defense is healthy. This is the time for Lamar
Judy to go out and prove that he is the MVP.
Like we all know, it is all there for the
Baltimore Ravens. It is set up, I would say perfectly right.

(04:23):
I mean, as bad as it went, then it can
go just as good now. And the fact that Lamar
didn't push himself last week. I know everybody thought he
was going to play and it was all the stuff
and the NFL investigation. That is all true. But the
fact that Lamar forced himself to just get completely healthy
so we can go out with a healthy defense and
go on what they believe is going to be a run.

(04:45):
They think that is going to be an excellent thing
for Baltimore. Certainly is a lot of optimism and if
they play like they should tonight, that will only accelerate.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
Well.

Speaker 6 (04:54):
This is a pivotal game for both teams.

Speaker 7 (04:56):
Obviously Baltimore has much higher expectations than the Miami don't.
But there's some big decisions coming this offseason for the
Miami Dolphins, and they still have the entire second half
of the season now to maybe put some wins together
and make it a more respectable season that it looked
like it was going to.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
Be just a week ago.

Speaker 7 (05:16):
But that game last week that they won, they looked
much better. Tua looked much better, the offense looked much better,
they used jumbo packages, they were able to run the ball,
that opened up the passing game through four touchdown passes
by far his best performance of the season. And you're right,
I mean, there was a lot of conversation about are
they going to fire the coach. More wins would quiet

(05:39):
that din They have decisions to make about the general manager,
the head coach, maybe even to his future.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
But again, if they can piece some victories.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
Together, I'm not saying make it to the playoffs, but
at least make a respectable showing on this season. Does
that impact owner Steven Ross's thinking about what he wants
to do with his franchise going forward.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah, well, see about that. That's for the ravens Lamar
Jackson has pretty much said they got to win every
single week. That's not necessarily the case. They can afford
a couple of more losses, but you don't want to
start sprinkling them in now. This is the stretch where
they really need to take all or most of the
games here in a five to six weeks week stretch elsewhere.
When it comes to quarterback injuries, Kyler Murray, Jonathan Edden said,

(06:22):
they're preparing for Kyler Murray to play Monday at the
Cowboys with that foot injury that's kept him out the
last couple weeks.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
However, there was a postponement.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
A lot of folks like to read into this postponement
as to which quarterback was going to talk or the
quarterback is going to talk to the media at all.
So read into that what you will, and we'll continue
to see what Kyler's status is the rest of the week.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Ian Oh, I'm reading into it, reading into everything. Just
like the fact that Joe Flacco was back at practice
for the Cincinnati Bengals. I'm reading into that to say
maybe he's got a shot now. Jack Taylor said, basically
it's fifty to fifty. Flacco dug in the asty joint
spring in his right shoulder, went out last week, ended
up coming back in didn't practice Wednesday. I think it's

(07:05):
safe to say it's up in the air, but Flacco
being back at practice a good sign for since he
that at least he's got a shot or the Commanders
better signed. Jaden Daniels is in line to play on
Sunday for the Washington Commatis miss last week with a
low grade hamstring injury. That's another team wanted to make
sure that when he played he was fully healthy ready

(07:26):
to go. They believe one week was it. He has
been a full participate in practice. I expect that to continue.
Judy and barring his setback, Jaden Daniels will be back
for Washington.

Speaker 7 (07:37):
Not quite as much certainty in San Francisco. The turf
toe has been an issue for brock perty since the
season Oprah that's when he first suffered the injury, and
his status is still uncertain for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Limited in practice, he has not played since September twenty eight,
that's when he reaggravated the turftoe.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
Mac Jones has started in his place there four and two.

Speaker 7 (08:00):
With mac Jones, so we will see what brock Purty
can do in practice today and tomorrow and see if
he can get any closer to finally getting back on
the field for the forty nine ers. Much better news
out of the Carolina Panthers Breishaw practicing fully for the
Panthers is they prepare to face the Packers this week.
Young missed a game against the Bills last week with

(08:20):
an ankle injury. Andy Dalton really took a beating. He
was sacked seven times. He was unable to practice Wednesday.
He was limited today in practice because of a thumb injury.
So certainly all signs are pointing to Bryce Young facing
the Packers.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Yeah, the fact that Andy Dalton Judy was suffered a
broken thumb during the game probably affects that. Just told
reporters that Meanwhile, this is going to be a fun one.
The Chiefs are right, we do not want to miss
Chiefs Bills this weekend. Maybe the best game of the week,
one of the best games of the year, you hope.
Two absolute juggernauts going on? Is it a AFC title game?

Speaker 6 (08:57):
Preview?

Speaker 4 (08:58):
I don't know. Maybe Brian Baldinger get in here. Baldy
will tell us a little more. Baldy, I know you
got the skills to break it all down. Why don't
you tell me what you are looking forward to in
this game, and start with the Buffalo Bill's offense.

Speaker 8 (09:12):
I'll be happening to you know, Buffalo got back in
the winning ways last week, and they ran the ball
from his two hund and fifty yards against Carolina, and
you know, honestly, they ran to the Saint play toss right,
toss left, over and over again. And James Cook had
a career day. You know, it's interesting. He leads the
National Football League with an average of six yards of county,

(09:33):
which is unheard of after seven games. The flip needs
a little bit of work. But I mean they've got
the same offensive line. But what they've added, though, Ian
is Dawson Knox, the rookie Jackson Hawes, a true blocking
tight end, the full back Reggie Gillion. They really load
you up right now, and they attacked. They attacked the
edges and James Cook, Jonathan Taylor, they're going to shoot

(09:57):
it out for the rushing title the way he's going
right now.

Speaker 9 (09:59):
But the running team, they've run the ball more than
they throw them.

Speaker 8 (10:02):
So what's Spag's gonna do on the other side, And well,
he's gonna throw his big linebackers out there. Nobody plays
more three linebacker sets than the Chiefs. Nick Bolton right there,
thirty two, Drew Trankle along with Leoshanal.

Speaker 9 (10:17):
He's gonna play a big linebackers.

Speaker 8 (10:18):
They're gonna like plug those holes and not let them
get the alleys that they got last.

Speaker 9 (10:23):
I think that's how it's going to kind of play.

Speaker 8 (10:26):
And then on the other side, you know, it's Mahomes
of Josh Allen and right now, you know Kansas City
is without Isaiah Pacheco.

Speaker 9 (10:33):
But they're not really a running team. They're a passing team.

Speaker 8 (10:36):
He's their best runner, Patrick Mahomes, and so they were
to throw it in the addition of Rashi Rice in
the passing game can't be underestimated. In they line them
up everywhere wildcat running back in the slot, motion match
up on linebackers. And in addition to the speed of
Xavier Worthy right there, or Hollywood Brown or Taekwon Thornton.

(10:58):
And then just what Travis is doing right now in
the middle of the field, and the offensive line is
protecting Mahomes, and Buffalo's got questions on defense, and so
can they play keep away by running the ball and
keep the ball away from Mahomes as much as possible.
I think that's kind of how I see it. If
you really want to, like, hey, I've got more ofan
I can keep going here. But I think that's the

(11:20):
crux right here.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Here are your primetime games in the NFL for a
week night, starting with tonight or then a football on
Prime Video. Baltimore, Miami, Seattle, Washington is Sunday night football,
and on Monday night you got the Cardinals and the
Cowboys squaring up. Speaking of the Cowboys, here is Brian Schottenheim,
or the head coach, on their start of the season.

Speaker 10 (11:41):
Our scorecard is what it is, you know, and that's
not just you know, defensively, that's offensively. You know, we're
a football team that's three four and one.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
You can take the.

Speaker 10 (11:50):
Stats on offense and shove them as far as I
am concerned. I mean, is what it is. We want
to win, you know, and people talk about hey, MVP
and this and that. Dak Prescott doesn't want to win MVP.
You know, he wants to win a Super Bowl, and
that's what we want to win.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Those stats standing by, like, what did I do? Just
trying to give us some information.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Now it's time for Mark Pause Key matchups for this
upcoming weekend with our Mark Ross, Judy Batista joining me
Mike Carrifalo as well, let's go with your first Mark
Pause key matchup.

Speaker 11 (12:22):
Well, let's go with the Colts Steelers, who are division
leaders to battle division winners, although they seem like they're
in completely different places. The Colts looking like the best
team in football, the Steelers coming off that loss of
Green Bay, starting to kind of go back to that
five hundred level team we've been seeing, and this could
get get ugly if Jonathan Taylor, that number one ranked

(12:42):
offense against the Steelers who have the thirtieth ranked defense
in yards per game, and Jonathan Taylor looking like the MVP,
and we'll see if the Steelers have another gear they
can go to or if they kind of are what
they are. That defense is absolutely just giving up four
hundred and fifty yards a last games. The Colts might
get the five hundred, but they should listen about Brian

(13:03):
Schottenheimer to say forget those stats. Judy, it might.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
All right, you got another good matchup in the AFC.

Speaker 11 (13:10):
What is it? Well, this Texans Broncos game and the
Broncos actually leading their division at ANFC West and can
they keep in front of the Chiefs. Can they keep
winning that division? And for the Texans, and I've been
waiting for them all year because they've got that number
one defense. The offense has been sporadic to the Leaf.
The say, the Lease looked like they had their best
showing last week. So it'll really be about the two

(13:33):
quarterbacks of Bo Nicks and c J. Stroud who you
trust more? Because that Houston defense is stingy. That Denver
defense is stingy as well, but no Patrick certain so
will CJ. Stroud be able to take advantage of that?
This should be a sneaky fun one. Can the Texans
maybe not be able to catch the Colts, but can
they fight for a playoff? Berth right here throughout the stretch.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Let's go deeper, let's go for the matchup within the matchup, Well.

Speaker 11 (14:00):
It's all about the state of Michigan and JJ McCarthy
and the Vikings coming back to Detroit against the Lions
and against his former Michigan teammate. There aident Hutchinson and
might have a little Michigan on Michigan crime there with
with Aiden Sack and JJ. Look, JJ McCarthy played two
games and really outside of that fourth quarter in Game one,
really has struggled. You know, the Lions, we know that

(14:23):
offense is going to be pouring it on early. Will
the Vikings and JJ McCarthy be able to keep pace?
So if they are behind Aiden Hutchinson showing everybody why
he earned all that money going after his former teammate
there in the state where JJ became so famous.

Speaker 7 (14:41):
All right, this is the ultimate matchup within the matchup,
like the matchup within the person.

Speaker 6 (14:46):
What is it, Mark?

Speaker 11 (14:48):
This is Lamar Jackson marquee matchup against his hamstring and
everybody we keep saying he's healthy and he's ready, but
you know, one nugget was that he's never had a
hamstring injury before. So here he is going to be
in the game. How tentative will he be? Will he
be the same Lamar we're used to sing? Will he
be hanging out in the pocket a little bit more
trying to prove that he can throw and not really

(15:09):
testing the limits of that hamstring. So let's see Lamar
versus that hamstring the night against the Dolphins in prime time.
If he's the same old Lamar, or if there's gonna
be a limited Lamar.

Speaker 12 (15:23):
The last physic.

Speaker 11 (15:25):
Don't do him way down because.

Speaker 12 (15:36):
Let's try laugh here it goes.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
You can't kiss him good bye.

Speaker 13 (15:44):
Get it to look at the set him away because
get pretty keep bringing Squaddy.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Derek Henry, remember him. I haven't talked much about him this year,
but you know what's going to help Derek Henry having
Lamar Jackson back. We've seen some big runs from Henry
on Thursday Night football before.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Maybe we'll see it tonight.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Down there at hard Rock Stadium where we go right now?
Where to talk to our guy, Cameron Wolf, who is
standing by the afore mentioned Lamar Jackson. By the way,
unseasonably cool down there. I look like in the sixties
at some point. You got some frost on the Miami
pumpkins down there. But it's a great fall. Look you
got going on there, Cam, Let's talk about Lamar Jackson

(16:34):
his return from missing three games with a hamstring injury.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Cam, Yeah, Lamar Jackson is back one hundred percent. A
lot of talk from last week of why he said
he wanted to get that body fully ready to go.
He said, I know my body better than anyone else,
and so expecting him to be Lamar Jackson today. I
spoke to Kyle van Noy this week and talk to
him about what the energy was like, and he was like,
come on, man, you know we were all smiles. Our
MVP is back, but I gotta be careful in not

(17:01):
making him feel like he has to do everything. We've
all got to step up, particularly us on defense, and
that Ravens defense is definitely an area they've been focused
on trying to get a better contribution. One thing to
watch the night too, say Flowers, this is his first
game playing in South Florida since he was in high school.
I asked him about it and he said, you already know, Cam,
I am going to be ready to get in that
end zone.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
I got so many people here in the stands ready
to root me on. I got to cheer them up
the right way.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
And so look for Jay Flowers maybe to try to
get in the end zone and have a fun celebration
for his crowd at home. But they think Lamar Jackson back,
this is going to be the start of their turnaround,
and they do think that the AFC NORF is still
still open for them to potentially take.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
I was talking about that other offense because Tyreek Hill
going down earlier this season for the.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Dolphins obviously an extremely tough one.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Did it take him a while to get some footing
without him and figure out how to get this thing?

Speaker 2 (17:52):
What happened with the Dolphins offense all of a sudden
showing signs of life.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Yeah, Mike, they had to figure out their identity without
Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins certainly did, and I think they
found it last week. They ran the ball thirty seven times,
the most they've done all season. They ran jumbo six
offensive line packages. I talked to Aaron Brewer, their center.
He said, this is our ball. We get to dominate.
And so now that Tyreek Hill is going devon a
chan who you're seeing on the screen, Jaalen Waddle, those

(18:18):
are the playmakers that have to step up.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
They're gonna lean on them.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Yes, Tua's their their guy, their point guard, but they
want those two playmakers in particular to carry this load.
One thing to watch Tua is gonna wear the visor
on his helmet for the second straight game. He said
his teammates loved it. He had an eye issue he
woke up with Sunday. He's not fully one hundred percent
back but he can see a lot better than he
did Sunday. But that visor, Mike McDaniels said, it's a

(18:43):
built in Halloween costume. Regardless, he had a great game
with it, and his teammates, even though they're having some
jokes with him, thinks that it gives them a little
extra swag out there on the field.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yep, love it. Looking forward to that tonight.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
And Jalen Wattle, I'm old enough to remember when he
was a potential trade, a way chip the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Now a key and a potential turnaround here.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Cameron Wolf always appreciates you man down there breaking it down.
Looking forward to your coverage all through tonight and postgame.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Judy, we got.

Speaker 7 (19:12):
The Packers versus the Panthers this weekend. We just told
you that it looks like Bryce Young is going to
be on the field. He's going to see these unbelievably
sweet Packers uniforms. Look at the leather looking helmet. That
is so awesome. I love the Navy. This is such
a great throwback uniform. I can't wait to watch this game.

(19:32):
They have, by the way, the best record in the NFC.
There's Brian Baldinger and Baldy. As you know, one of
the reasons they've got the best record in the NFC
is that offense.

Speaker 6 (19:42):
Give us a Baldy's breakdown.

Speaker 8 (19:45):
Well, just think about those uniforms there, Curly Lambell, bart Starr.
They would love this offense because it makes so much sense.
I think Matt Laflora and Adams Stanovich has done a
great job designing it, perfecting it and tweaking it. We
can week out to become the fifth be offense in football.
And I'll give you an example of how they tweak it.
They like to stack plays Judy right. So right here,

(20:06):
Tucker Kraft goes in motion. He's gonna run a flat
route against man coverage. They can either hand it off
to Josh Jacobs or throw the flat to Tucker Kraft.
But what it does is it pulls Patrick Queen out
of the box right there, and it gives Josh Jacobs
a cutback lane. I mean, it's a six yard game
on first down. It's a drive starter. But it's a
little thing like here, they get him in man coverage.

(20:28):
Queen goes out right here. Now, look, you get a
hat on a hat up front with everybody and Josh
Jacobs is going to find the daylight.

Speaker 9 (20:34):
He's just that good, all right, So that's that's a
little tweak.

Speaker 8 (20:38):
But they'll go under center, and when they do that,
especially in the early downs, they like to fake the
Josh Jacobs.

Speaker 9 (20:44):
Get those linebackers to step up.

Speaker 8 (20:46):
Now, run these speedo route combinations, a little post dig
right here, and Christian Watson is going to come across
on the dig route and Jordan Muve is gonna fire it,
perfect throw right there for a big chunk play.

Speaker 9 (20:58):
But the other thing they do judy is formations and
personnel groups.

Speaker 8 (21:02):
They create space for receivers, Like what would they do
for Tucker Craft here man covers by the Steelers, Deshaun
Elliotson coverage on him, he takes him to deep water,
and then he comes out. And all Jordan Love has
to do, even under pressure, is throw this ball to
an open.

Speaker 9 (21:17):
Patch of grass.

Speaker 8 (21:18):
Let Tucker Craft go adjust to it, which he does,
and then he's excellent after the catch, right, so now
he's rambling. Still does have a hard time getting them
to a ground to the ground, so they really flip
field position at play. But I'll give you another example
of what I'm talking on watching comes in motion. Here,
the two receivers at the bottom are gonna run out.
They're gonna clear it out. They're gonna open up the

(21:40):
middle of the field for Tucker Craft right here. Really,
he's gonna run this little Texas route, little angle route
over the middle. Jordan Love's gonna pitch it to him,
and then you know, he takes it to the house
for one.

Speaker 9 (21:50):
Of his six touchdown catches on the season.

Speaker 8 (21:52):
This offense does a lot, using the personnel of a
variety of motions and shifts to get with one. They
dictate the offense and the defense. The Carolina Panthers will
have their hands full against this offense that does a lot,
and they do it very well.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
I felt like watching old grunk videos watching Tucker Craft
the other day.

Speaker 6 (22:14):
Baldi, thank you.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Iil really glad it didn't pick up Tucker Craft in
fantasy when I had the opportunity.

Speaker 11 (22:20):
Cool.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Everything's great anyway, Things will be great on Tuesday. Trade
deadline day is coming four pm.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Should be some fireworks. Maybe not the craziest trade deadline
of all time. I don't know, you never know, but
there should be some big names that we will be discussing.
Mark Ross thank you for hanging out with us. As always,
gonna be some buyers, it's gonna be some sellosh, they're
gonna meet in the middle and do some deals. Why
don't you break down for us who should be buying
in advance of Tuesday at four pm. And I know

(22:51):
you're plugged in with all the inside information. I'm just
looking at that as a football perspective of contenders who
they need to put them over the top.

Speaker 11 (22:58):
And I'm gonna start first, it's green Bay. Baldy just
broke down the offense and the defensive side. Look, they
got Michael Partson's wrecking shop and then Rashan Gary. But
that secondary scares me like crazy every time a ball
goes up, either as Hobbs or Valentine or Nixon like
I just don't have any faith in those guys covering
the big time receivers and the big time players in

(23:19):
this league. So when I'm looking at Green Bay, I
think they need to go get a corner. And then
I'm gonna move to the Pittsburgh Steelers. And on the
flip side, Pittsburgh is an old team and Pittsburgh has
a lot of old players, namely that quarterback and outside
of DK Metcalf, they really do not have any playmakers
on offense. They signed Marquez Valdez scan like that doesn't

(23:40):
move the needle for me at all. They haven't been
consistent running the ball, and the way that defense is
playing just giving up yards and points. They need more
on the offense. And then finally with the Detroit Lions,
they need some pass rush. And I can really have
thrown the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens in
this because I think all three of them them need
pass rush, and outside of Aiden Hutchinson, they really don't

(24:03):
have much. Their secondary is completely banged up, so you
could look for that, but you think they get those
guys back. But outside of Aiden Hutchinson, I don't think
they have a lot. So they're going to go in
and try to beat the big time teams, the Eagles,
et cetera. They need another pass Russ kind of look
for them Ian, which you know.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Yeah, makes a ton of sense. The only real issue
is there's not a ton of big names out there
pass rush wise. I mean, it's more guys like Arden
Q come in and kind of give you a bounce,
maybe like Zadarius Smith did last year right around the
time of the trade deadline. But there are players who
can come in and make a difference. I liked what
you hit on. There only issue I would say with
the Packers is they give up a ton of picks
for Micah, so they have to probably do more of

(24:43):
like a pick swap situation rather than just give up
another picture just because they have so few. But great
breakdown as always once you turn it around for me,
give me who the sellers should be in advance of Tuesday.

Speaker 11 (24:55):
For well, the sellers, much like the buyers, are contenders.
These are teams they probably aren't going anywhere this year
and looking for the future. The first team the New
York Giants, and look, there was high hopes after the
back to back wins of beating the Chargers and the Eagles,
but the injuries are just piling up. Skataboo Malik Neabors.
So Giants really looking for next year. They've got really

(25:16):
a trio of first round picks with Cavon Thibodeau, Evan
Neil and Deontay Banks, who Thibodeau at least have been
up and down, those other two been disappointing, could be
moving on the next team, the Cleveland Browns. We've seen them,
you know, just making trades already. Could they got the
rookie class is fantastic. We know they're going to need
a quarterback next year. They've got those two first round picks,

(25:39):
keep loading up on draft picks. They got some veteran
players like in Djoku and Jerry Judy who could be
on the move. And then the final team is the
team we're going to see tonight is the Miami Dolphins,
and if they lose tonight, it really all bets are
off because it could go downhill from there and talk
about edge rushers, maybe a Jailing Phillips or a Bradley
chubb Ian could be on the move. Completely different circumstances

(26:02):
with the contract situation with those two, but that could
be a way for Miami to get some picks for
next year.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Yeah, I know a lot of teams are eyeballs on
Miami's edge rushers. Will see it. Sounds like Bradley Chubble
likely plays tonight. We'll see though, if they're able to
get a deal. It really is a fascinating one because
you got the Jets, you got the Saints, you got
the Titans. All struggling, all with not good records, all
teams that are willing to do deals but really don't
want to just throw in the towel and just have

(26:28):
a fire sales. So how do they kind of thread
that needle or walk that line and be productive get
some resources without just canceling The season going to be
very fascinating to keep up with all of that and
also very stressful in advance of Tuesday at four pm.
And if you want a full breakdown of that, and
you should, I would recommend keeping it right here NFL

(26:49):
Network Tuesday right after for the Insiders, Mark, You're going
to be there, all of us are going to be there.
A trade deadline special is going to be very fun.
Plus them, we get to take a breath because the
trade deadline at that point will be over.

Speaker 11 (27:03):
Mark.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Thank you as always, great stuff. Look forward to hearing
from you very soon. One of the things we always
hear from the Buffalo Bills and they're fans. Their fans
are loud, they're intense, they are crazy. We're going to
see a ton of it coming up in the second
half of the season. And if you are wondering where
they are going to be hanging out after this year. Well,
I got some news for you.

Speaker 12 (27:25):
Keep it right here on the inside.

Speaker 7 (27:37):
Look at this very beautiful new stadium that they have
put up in Buffalo. There goes the sod getting put in.
This is going to be awesome. I've been watching this
stadium go up over the last few years when I've
been over at High Mark covering games. I cannot wait
to see what this stadium looks like. I bet this
guy can tell us something about it. Scott ratisick twelve years.

(28:00):
There's an NFL linebacker, but more importantly, right now the
co lead on the design of that new stadium in Buffalo.

Speaker 6 (28:07):
Scott, thanks so much for joining us.

Speaker 7 (28:09):
We're going to talk football in a second, but let's
talk about where they're going to play football in Buffalo.
When you and the Pagoulas and everybody else who wanted
to put their two cents in about this new stadium
got together, what were the things you wanted to accomplish
with this stadium.

Speaker 14 (28:25):
Well, listen, the first thing we wanted to do was
listen to Terry and Kim and find out what was
most important to them. And so we had we had
a visioning session, which which is a foundational way to
start a lot of big projects like this to find out, like,
what's their main objective. And we found out that they
just wanted a building that would live and breathe Buffalo
and they're going to play football outside, and they wanted

(28:47):
to be intimidating, but they wanted it to be intimate,
and they wanted to keep people drier and warmer than
they've been for the last fifty plus years. And it
was all about building a place for family and a
stadium that people could call home. And that's what we did.
That's what we did. We listened to what they said.
They really provided the inspiration for where we wanted to go,

(29:09):
and so we were able to do exactly what they asked.
We've got some of the most interesting and features about
building that's ever been designed and built in the NFL,
and it's really authentic to the culture and the people
here in the city of Buffalo.

Speaker 7 (29:25):
That is one of the loudest, wildest, most intimidating places
for opponents to play. So how do you keep that
atmosphere while also incorporating like all the modern inconveniences that
we all like in stadiums now?

Speaker 9 (29:39):
Absolutely well.

Speaker 14 (29:40):
The first thing is the canopy is going to help
make this building one of the loudest buildings in the
entire NFL. The new sound system and the new way
that we're going to be able to design the audio system.
The sound is directed at the patrons. It's going to
bounce and reflect and refract off of the can it be,

(30:00):
and it is going to be a very loud and
intimidating place because right now at the current stadium, the
sound just kind of leaves the It just kind of
leaves the stadium. And then now we're going to be
able to keep it bounced around inside that even give
them a better home field advantage.

Speaker 7 (30:13):
All right, As a former player, I'm sure you have
always had in your head things you wish had been
in place at a stadium.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
That you were playing in.

Speaker 7 (30:21):
So are there things in this stadium? What are they
that you said, you know what, I'm designing this stadium
in a place that I played, this is what I
want in that stadium.

Speaker 14 (30:31):
Well, you know, designing an NFL stadium takes a lot
of people, and we had almost fifty at one point
in time just from Populous working on this stadium. So
it's a collective opportunity, you know, but I think about
the fans and the experience we want to have, and
we made sure that we had open concourses right now.
For the last fifty years, when people leave the seating bowl,

(30:53):
they lose touch of what's going on on the field
to play. But in the new stadium, no matter where
they are, they can turn them and they're always going
to be able to see the field. The other thing
that we wanted to do was give them these destinations.
We wanted to give them places where they could be
communal and hang out with their friends and just be
the Bills mafia together. And so we've got these incredible

(31:14):
destinational bars on all the concourses.

Speaker 9 (31:17):
For people to go. You're going to be able.

Speaker 14 (31:20):
We also have a perch on the north end zone
where you can look and see the lake, you can
see the city on a beautiful day, you might even
see the mist from Niagara Falls, and there's no place
in Buffalo that you can do that. And then, as
a former player, the one thing that we did, especially
having played up there in you know, thirty eight degree

(31:41):
rainy days, is you know that field gets wet, and
you get wet, You're wet and cold all day and
We've got this really beautiful place for the team to
warm up inside so that they don't have to go
on to the field if it's a miserable day, in
order to make sure that every player is warmed up
and prep to play at the highest level. So I'm

(32:01):
excited about all those things that we've done for everyone.

Speaker 7 (32:03):
I can't wait to see that stadium. But in the
old stadium, we've got a good one this week. You
played for both of these teams, the Kansas City Chiefs
and the Buffalo Bills. It is one of the great
rivalries in the game right now. So give us your
scouting report for this game.

Speaker 14 (32:18):
We'll tell you what. The rivalry here has really ramped
up over the last five or seven years. And you know,
if you look at what happens during the season, the
Bills have always been able to edge them out. And
then you see what happens in the postseason, and they
struggled and the Chiefs have been able to edge them out.
You know, I live here in Kansas City and I

(32:38):
hear about that thirteen second game more often than I
want to. I love both these teams, right they were
both beautiful places to be. We love the crowds and
the fans and everything, but this rivalry, two of the
best quarterbacks in the game, the former MVPs playing against
each other. Everybody wants to say, what's your prediction. I said,

(33:00):
you got to watch it till the last second, because
you're not going to know the answer till the last second.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
Got Well, we'll all be watching and we can't wait
to see your handiwork in the new stadium. Thanks so
much for joining us. I'm sure we're going to be
talking to you again as the opening gets close.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Sert Time to go inside with NFL Fantasy Live and.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Our guy Michael f Floreo. It is Thursday. That means
who you're starting, who you're sitting.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
He's got all the advice, not just for Thursday Night Football,
before the entire weekend Week nine in the.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
NFL Show Show Show. Here we go. Let us start
with the sits. I'm sorry the starts.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Start with the starts, very easy, Mike, start with the
starts tonight for Thursday Night Football.

Speaker 5 (33:42):
Yeah, there's a lot of starts tonight, Like, you know,
to play Derrick Henry, you know, to play Lamar Jackson.
I also think you should be playing Jalen Waddle, who
since the Tyreek injury, is averaging eighty yards per game
in sixteen fantasy points per game. In that span, half
of the Dolphins air yards have gone to him.

Speaker 6 (33:58):
The Ravens have struggled.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
Against out wide wide receivers and against the deep ball,
so those air yards come into play in this matchup.
They've also allowed the most red zone touchdowns two wide
receivers in the league, and with Lamar back, I would
not be surprised if they're chasing points. And Lamar being
back is why I think you start Mark Andrews the Dolphins.
They've allowed these six most yards and eleventh most fantasy

(34:21):
points per game to tight ends. Given the defense on
both sides of this, I think it could be a
high scoring game, which only elevates the chances of Mark
Andrews scoring a touchdown. And when you're going a little
deeper at tight end, which is what Mark Andrews now is,
you're hoping for a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
That's not bad. Plus that's Lamar's guy still, so that's
a good call.

Speaker 6 (34:42):
All right.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
That was nice and positive and optimistic. Let's go the
other way. Give me a couple of guys that you
sit and Hopefully you don't mention anyone that I have
a my team.

Speaker 6 (34:50):
Do you have two a tongue of my Lowe on
your team?

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Well, I would be saiting to sit him.

Speaker 5 (34:54):
Coming off of his four touchdown game last week, four
touchdowns twenty four fantasy points were his best of the year.
In the two games prior to that, though, he scored
six fantasy points combined, and the Ravens have been tough
against the pass the last couple of weeks, eight few
is fantasy points per game in that span.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
I'd rather play like.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
Dark Caleb Kyler, Darnold, Trevor Lawrence, even Flacco if he
ends up suiting up, and then I think you get
away from both defenses in this game. I keep saying,
given the offenses and the defenses on this game, this
could be a high scoring matchup. The Ravens right dead
last and fantasy points scored on this season. The Dolphins
are twenty third and have not reached ten in a

(35:33):
single game, and again Lamar is back. I expect more
points simply because if the Ravens scored more, the Dolphins
have to be in catchup mode and then they'll be
throwing it more. So I think this is a good
fantasy game for your offensive players, not your defense.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
All right, let's widen this thing out here to the
rest of the NFL on the rest of the weekend.
Camanie fie Dall, Chargers running back was on the program
earlier this week. Will he be in your lineups later
this week?

Speaker 5 (35:58):
I'm not gonna tell one of your game has to sit. No,
you're starting Kimani this week. Yeah, is coming off of
a huge day where he had turned twenty five opportunities
into one hundred and twenty seven yards, twenty fantasy points,
and a top ten running back finish. Plus, the Titans
have allowed the second most rushing yards, most rushing touchdowns,

(36:19):
and the third most fantasy points per game bought two
running backs. And this might be a hot take, guys.
I think game script will be on the Chargers side.
They'll be playing with the lead, so that means even
more running opportunities for by Dell.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Okay, what about Bonnicks. I mean, he's had his moments
this year. Some on some off team's doing good, but
the Texans defense has been really, really good the last
three weeks. Are we starting or sitting the Broncos quarterback.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
Because of that reason, the Texans defense, I think you
go and you get away from Bownicks, who is the
QB one In the last two weeks like he's been
going off, but the Texans allowed the fewest fantasy points
per game to quarterbacks, fourth fewest yards. No team has
allowed fewer touch sounds than them. They've also allowed the
lowers passer rating and EPA and for a fantasy standpoint,
no quarterback has finished top twelve against them. No quarterback

(37:09):
has reached twenty fantasy points against them, and only two
all year of top fourteen fantasy points. And with the
being a good streaming week for quarterbacks, I think this
is a week you get away from bow Nings.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Yeah, we talked about this earlier in the week. You
and I I sat Nicks. I picked up Flacco. The
shoulders got me worried. So now I've got Sam Darnold.
Ian I picked him up as my guy. Will continue
you and I to figure out what I'm going to
do at the quarterback position.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Marvin Harrison Junior.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
I know Jonathan Gannon said that they're planning to have
Kyler Murray be the guy, but Ian and I not
yet sold on that. So take all this for the
grain of salt. When you think about who's throwing him
the football, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
I think you play Marvin Harrison Junior. Either way, the
passic attack has looked better with Jacoby Brissette then with
Kyler Murray. But this is all about the matchup, right.
Cowboys have allowed the second most yards by far, the
most touchdowns and most fantasy points two wide receivers, and
what I really love, they've allowed the most yards and

(38:05):
touchdowns to out wide wide receivers, which is where Harrison
lines up over eighty percent of the time. The Cowboys
score a lot of points, so we could see the
Cardinals in ketchup mode and having to air it out
more in the second half. If you're not playing Harrison
Junior this week, why is he on your roster?

Speaker 4 (38:22):
What about Alvin Kamara? You know they got the Saints
have not been very good, but they got a new quarterback.
But they faced the Rams, which is a very very
good defense. What say you on Agent forty one?

Speaker 5 (38:33):
I think you get away. And I've been saying this
for the last couple of weeks. Now, this isn't the
same Alvin Kamara of old. He is a career low
in almost every single metric, including yards per touch and
per game, his second lowest career success rate as both
a runner and a receiver.

Speaker 6 (38:51):
In the last six weeks, he has been.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
A top twenty five fantasy running back one time. And
maybe this is part him declining. Maybe it's part of
the Saints' offense not being good. It's not like that
offense is changing. And like Ian said, Ram's second fewest
fantasy points allowed to running backs in one touchdown all year.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
All right, now, the selfish point part of the programmer
Ian and I get to ask you about our teams
in particular. I want to ask you about one guy
in particular, but I'm just giving you it a whole
layout right now, McCaffrey and what he marks in as
my starting running backs. If Jordan Mason with Aaron Jones back,
his value has dropped. Trayveon Henderson currently on my bench,
I could slide him in that what he mark spot.

(39:31):
Are we back with Trayvon Henderson.

Speaker 6 (39:35):
I've loved the way he was used last week.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
They finally started using him on outside zone carriers and
he was averaging ten yards of rush on those runs.
But to me, this all comes down to Ramandre Stevenson's toe.
If Stevenson is active, it's still he probably still gets
enough work where it's hard to trust Henderson. But if
he's out, let's go and let's have fun. Right Like,
it'll be more fun playing him than anyone else.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
I like fun to a toe bruise for Remondre Stevens
censor not a major injury. We'll see if he's able
to go this week. All right, that wasn't that exciting?
This is going to be exciting. I claimed Tyrone Tracy
on waivers after the terrible injury for Cam Scattab. I
would like to plan if I were to play him,
Bill Crosskey Merrit would probably have to go to my bench.

(40:18):
What should I do?

Speaker 5 (40:20):
Well, you clearly haven't read stardom sin him this week
because I have Tyrone Tracy Junior as a star and
Bill Merritt as a sit. Because Tyrone Tracy last year,
it's twelve games that he was the RB one for
the Giants. He finished top twenty five nine times, and
it's a really good matchup against a banged up forty
nine ers. Bill Merritt gets the Seahawks, who allow the
fewest rushing yards. They struggle more against pass catching backs,

(40:42):
and that's just simply not his role.

Speaker 11 (40:45):
All right.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Stop asking him questions. You don't know why, because you
gotta go buy the cow. You can't just give the
milk away for free. NFL dot Com slash start sit.
That's where you get all your answers from Michael f Florio. Yes,
it's an analogy ian. It's used in many different ways.
I am using it with regard to fantasy football. Michael
f Florio, love you pal, love all the milk that

(41:06):
you provide for us. I don't know what kim to
hole and everywhere in between.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
Michael f Florio plays to win the game. So did
herman it HERM Edwards years ago?

Speaker 1 (41:19):
How many years for the anniversary here, I think we're
up to twenty three or so.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
We'll talk about it.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
Relive that moment with our Judy Batista. After this, Judy
Batista was grilling HERM Edwards years ago while she was
covering the New York Jets.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Judy, I'm just.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Gonna let you take the floor, TsUP, tell us how
this all happened.

Speaker 7 (41:45):
So the Jets had just blown a fifteen point lead
against the Cleveland Browns to drop to two and five
and we were there the next week to do the
regular press conference with her Edwards and I asked her,
do you have to talk to your team about not giving.

Speaker 6 (41:59):
Up on the season? And he took it from there.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
This is what the greatest thing about sports is.

Speaker 15 (42:06):
You play to win the game. Hello, You play to
win the game. You don't play to just play it.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
That's a great thing about sports. You play to win.
I love the furious me. I love the furious to
make sure I get you play win the game.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
I mean, he's staring, He's staring dead at you right there,
and you know you're not in trouble or you're not.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
It's not a threat or anything. What are you thinking
while he's just staring down.

Speaker 7 (42:41):
I Am actually thinking this is going to be the
easiest story of the entire.

Speaker 6 (42:45):
Season, right, And it was.

Speaker 4 (42:50):
It is a crazy thing when it is a crazy
thing when you're sitting out. I was still in college.
I didn't know I was out of college. I was
covering high schools for the Journal news. Uh, wondering if
the Jets were ever going to win and it's been.

Speaker 6 (43:04):
They did. They won the division.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
That something at a press conference and you're like, this
is an amazing moment, and they're like, you're in the
middle of it. It's like, what a crazy, surreal thing,
you know? Uh, hold on, I want to stop everyone
right there. We got one other thing we'd like to show.
Just check this.

Speaker 16 (43:22):
Out, all right, Mike tell Us in the moment, how scared?

Speaker 4 (43:46):
It's Halloween, so jump scares of a thing. How scared
were you that Jordan Malatta was going to pound you
into Bolivia?

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Yeah, it was a review of my life that happened
very quickly. I'm pretty how I lived my life. I
got the review it all in that moment. I saw
the light.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
It was magnificent.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
We are back the Insiders on Friday, the longest Jordan
my Aleta doesn't plow through us.
