missed on. Yeah, we could have had R and B
in the middle of Richmond, Virginia, dog downtown Broad Street,
dalk what I'm saying, That's all good. Next year. Next

(02:48):
year we're gonna talk about the off season. You know,
what do players do? Like, what do they do? What
do we do? We'll get into that. We probably got
into some mischievous stuff. Yeah, early in my career. Well,
we'll speak on Yeah, let's get We also got a
new segment called Depth Chart Debates, and today we're gonna
touch on quarterbacks, corn erunnerbacks, not quarterbacks, cornerbacks bees uh, cbs.

(03:10):
You know that I used to torch when I played,

I went against that, dude. Uh. And then we got
our our segment, our new segment or not. You know,

He's the genius behind the glass, genius behind the glass.

(03:32):
But it's been hitting the but I and we might
we might have a special guest, uh and t D

know if it's going to happen or not. So, yeah,
we'll get to that. But give him the p s A.
If we get j D, you're gonna ask him if

(03:53):
he was like, because when you kill the beans man
that I don't think they heard that, but that was
we'll say. We'll say that before we do the ps A.
They uh, what the people are not always jumping here
with what the people need to do? You know, so
what people need to do? I actually did this past

(04:13):
this past weekend. I checked out Barbershop the next cut.
Check it out. Like I know, a lot of people
might think it's just a money grab. Just know it's
a good time. It's a good movie, and it has
real conversations. It's it's it's you know, relevant exactly that
type of it's written really well. It's it's still funny.
They still think every conversation back to a laugh, but

(04:34):
they also have every angle of the conversation and it's
really really well done. Not a lot of people talking
about it. We need to go out and need to
show some support because we need more stuff like that. Yeah,
that's check out. That's dope, man, because I took my
kids to go see that, uh Captain America Civil Wars,
Civil War. It was terrible, terrible, horrible, like Charles barkleyble

(04:55):
But we can get into that another time. Man, do
I'm ready to do a mic drop on that one.
That was terrible. I wanted to refund. I gave my
popcorn back and I went on to top Mike, I
gotta see. I what your man? If? I gotta jump
in here though, so it might not be for your liking.
Did your kids like it? Though? No? It wasn't enough
action TV. The other ones was way more action than that.

(05:18):
Don't get me wrong. For the fans of that of
Captain Americans, want did a lot of explaining, They did
a lot of you know stuff that but for me, dude,
action see. I was going to move on, but now
that TV jump I had to do. I gotta give

(05:38):
my opinion. I thought the movie was solid. What was
the action? I just it was too early. I thought
it was too early to debate with you. But if
We're gonna get it. I'm just saying, bro that fight
scene with with Yeah and Captain American Man got busy

(05:59):
at the airport stall. I never seen man before. You
should have. I don't know. I just think that all
these movies are connected. Brod a Black Panther. We gotta
have a shout out to black Man, Jackie Robinson that
you have a Boseman man? Do want the stands sticking up?
He did? He did? He did. He getting his own

(06:20):
movie and that's going to be directed by a man,
Ryan Coogler, who you gotta get in it, Ate man, Nate,
we gotta highlight way the worry way. He's doing Black Panther.
He's directing Black Panther. You gotta get in it. He's
got Michael B. Jordan in that movie too. Ate Man,
I gotta be up. Yeah, getting some newspers and I'm

(06:40):
not I want to be a I no man, but
they might not do that. Here's a word though. Marvel
says that nine per cent of the cast is going
to be African and African American because it's gonna be
it's it's from a he has He's a king of
an African TV telling his story exactly. TD. You gotta
set it up. Let's making that. Hey, I want to
be in on this. Got gotta get a text Ryan

(07:01):
Coogler speak of that. Well, first of all, I don't
think y'all noticed what I said earlier. I didn't know
what y'all was talking about. And when you said black panther,
I said, yeah, I just had me some West selling newspapers.
And y'all didn't even catch that, right, I thought I
was talking about like that. Y' I was like, why

(07:22):
would why would he why would he want to be
saying saying papers? I didn't catch it that, fir Hold up,
Let's get to the talking about black panthers. Yeah, that's
what I was talking about, all right. Oh man, please
make sure you subscribe, comment on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play,
all that you need, you guys support, leave a comment.

(07:44):
We're trying to turn this into a into a show. Yeah,
I've been at our management. We've been this is the
only show out here that has a different kind of
land and let's let's be honest. You know, younger, your
hit more urban, and uh, we're trying to we're trying
to keep that going. You know, we're trying to keep
going to the NFL because it's it helps helps her show,
it helps the audience and uh and it helps it

(08:04):
helps the audience get stay and get younger. Man, Jack
can't have our audience, you know, continuing to get like
us you older man. Yeah, you're right now that's really young.
But we're getting over. Yeah, I know that, Nate. Yah,
we'll t I know you gotta beat for me, man,
let me see what you got. Huh. Okay, hey man,

(08:28):
if my voice wasn't raspy, you hear this? Yeah, don't
trying to figure out like like Betha red on this.
Oh dr oh this is a right, I see Nate's
feeling that. Man. Now now you can't do that, Nate.

(08:50):
You just got back boys name just came back your
na man, you know what I mean being at the
stage again. You better chill out, back to chill out,
We went back, funny, Hey, this is fine. How many
times are gonna switsch to beat up? And that's like

(09:10):
some Kanye stuff right there? All right, Mike, whatever you've
been up to, bro, man, Look, let's actually let me
go for us because I haven't really been doing not
because no, no, no no, not because I got into it
because it's hard. He was like, because because I haven't

(09:31):
been doing much and you have a lot of stuff that, Man,
I much you to happen the most time. All I've
been doing is working out. I figured out time off,
so I've been doing cross fit like crazy. So back
on platform lived in. Yeah, just because I do a
lot of squats and you know, clean stuff that we
should do when played. Um, get my hops back. I
put on my I G. I jumped like sixty inch

(09:53):
box jump, so the machine and stuff till you catching
punts again. I should, though, should? I thought about making
a comeback because I was working out and I was like, man,
I'm nice right now, somebody pick you up for a game.
I'm healthy, rags, my bones are fragged. I'm laos and tolerance,
so I don't drink a lot of milk. You can

(10:14):
supplement it though. Yeah, but I got meddling my body.
I won't last. I'll get broken up. Man, Cam Chancellor
hit me. It's a rap. I'm too old to get
hit like that. I'm walking off the field. Head coach.
Get hit by Cam, I might sprain the ankle and
walk off like retire again off a sprained ankle. But
I haven't been doing much. I've been chilling, spent a
lot of time with the family and the kids at

(10:35):
the crib. But that's about it. Man, Just waiting to
get back to work, hungry to talk again. So I
missed you? What about you? You've been working, You've been
working your butt off. Supposed to be at the camp
this week. I missed that weekend, man, this past week?
How was that there? Marshawlette be Small, My brother Richard Sherman,
my brother Robert urb and my brother Frank Go and

(10:55):
my brother. Both of those guys played for Indie Bibra
Maxwell Miami. Uh Andre branch d n in Miami. He
went to my high school. Um uh Maurice Kennedy sixth
round pick for Baltimore. He participated in my camp five
years ago. I mean full circle now he come back

(11:16):
as you know, as train as a trainer, you know
what I mean? Who else we have? Chris Baker, Washington, Redskins,
Tyrod Taylor was on the way, but he had a
he had a photo shoot. He couldn't just couldn't get
get away from UM. I hope I'm not missing anybody. Man.
Vernon Davis came down for a little bit. Man, we
just had a star studded event. Man. We had a

(11:38):
dinner on Friday night. Ma Sean sat a speech, he
got up, I mean he cursed every other word, right,
But it was all good because that's what they came
with the I mean, it wasn't the kids. So this
is what happened. That we had the hotel. Okay, a
good friend of mine owns the hotel or whatever, and
one of my one of my vestment buddies, and everybody
who paid a ticket to be there bought a dinner

(12:00):
in a room and the rooftop bar for a party.
So the whole hotel was our hearts. So as we
did the dinner downstairs, boom, everybody went upstairs. We had
a great time and had a great camp. The very
next day, our network came out Show Love covered Everybody,
kids got on TV. My kids saw that said they
saw themselves on TV last you know what I mean.

(12:20):
All from my foundation et Cela Excellence. I'm trying to
change education in America. Bro. Like, Like, that's what wakes
me up in the morning, you know, other than talking
about football, you know what I mean, But that's what
wakes me up. In the morning, man. But you know,
to put on an event like that, bro, So here,
this is this what happen. It rained all day Saturday,
and I started fitting. I started thinking, like on Thursday,

(12:40):
maybe we should change the venue to indoors. What we
did it indoors due And first of all, it was awesome.
Thanks Sports Reality for helping us put it on. But
when you play something that's originally for outside and almost
eight hundred kids and that was in those spectators you
can only fit about five kids. It's like playing a
whole another event, man. I mean it really is. Bro

(13:03):
So doing that, planning that and working, bro, I mean
working here, like really really working. Like, Um, I'm breaking
down some I'm breaking down all the backs from last
year right now. Um all my short yardage backs right now.
Um at home. So I'm doing stuff like that. Do
you know I sharpen than sharpen the tool shot, Broyeah.
I can dig that, man, I can dig that. But

(13:23):
what about but what about what about during that when
you was in the league? Man? What would you be
doing right now in the league in the off season
other than football? I mean, I know you're being there.
You're talking about the moments right before you getting o
t s what I'll be doing. Yeah. Uh. I usually
planned one big family vacation, so that's the first priority.
You gotta you gotta let wife, you know, and the

(13:43):
kids know, Hey, you're gonna be the first ones to
enjoy this all season with me, so we'll go. We
love the Caribbean, so we used to go to Turks
and Cakos. We were hit an island in the Hawaii
trying to get out out of our you know, usual
location about the kids, Yeah, Calli. We we would get

(14:03):
out of that circle because we traveled there all the time. Um.
And then after that, you know, I would work out occasionally,
but it was more like healing, so you do like
the pilates and yoga and and just that light kind
of beach body workout because you're still healing up from
being banged up. And then I would plan a boy's trip. Me,

(14:24):
my brother and my best friend. We all get together
and we pick a location. We shoot around one night,
eating dinner and drinking, and everybody that throw their location
in the hat. And it was always Miami, Vegas, CALLI
and Vancouver and Vancouver always it was one of the
best places on Earth. Man it's like it's like our Vegas. So,
um it's right by Seattle, so we just drive up

(14:46):
and we knew everybody up there. Uh, it's it's a
great time. So that was like my routine. So if
I knocked all those things down by the time O
t A started, it was a full off season for me.
I was ready to go back that man, because my
I was similar. You know, um, I would take the
first month not completely off, but just do like it's

(15:06):
like you said, pilate, yoga, that type of stuff. But
young guys need to have a plan though, instead of
just saying, oh, it's the off season, Oh, I'm just
gonna wake up. Oh, let me go to Miami and
just go buy the ticket right then and there and
just go. Then just go pay for the hotel and
do all that. Oh I mean, oh I wake up. Hey,
I want to go to a rule, but let me
just go. You see what I'm saying. That's when you

(15:28):
get into trouble. That's when you lose. To me, that's
when you lose focus on football. That's when you lose
focus on what the ultimate goolders. When you plan it out,
you can say, okay, I've had my fun. You know
what I mean, that it's time to get to work,
because there is a point of the off season. Yeah
it's not as it's not as serious as during the season,
but there's a point in the off season where you

(15:48):
gotta say, Okay, I have to get better from last year, right,
you know what I mean. And it's gonna take blood, sweat,
and till it's gonna take a lot of hard workers,
gonna take me really really going after probably paying a
facility somewhere to go and do my thing, getting my
own personal coach, right, you know what I mean. But
what happens is, Man, a lot of these young cats,

(16:08):
they're so used to everything being provided for him, man,
and they don't they don't think, like, dude, I have
to get better from last year just me knowing to play.
And I'm talking about young guys like what he's going
into the stricken year. For sure, you have to get better, man,
because like you're invested into your body, you're invested into
your future. And I'm glad you talked about having that

(16:29):
structure because not a lot of guys have you. You
bring up a valid question, it's how do you get
better in the all season? So for me. Um you
mentioned it. You said, you know, you gotta pay a facility,
you know when you first get in the league. That's
what we did, or that's what our agents did. You
remember when you're already for the compound. I was out
in Arizona working at a PI and you wake up

(16:51):
in the morning, they provide a meal, you go bust
your answer two hours, then they provide lunch, You go
home taking that. Then you come back busch to asked
for another two hours, and then they provide dinner. So
I did this getting ready for the combine. I'm thinking
to myself, man, this is and I felt like I
was in the best shape ever. So when I got
in the league, I didn't really want to pay them
out of my own pocket, you know. And uh, you know,

(17:14):
every week and a half or whatever it was, because
I thought to myself, I can do this on my own.
But it's a lot harder to walk into a l
a fitness and prepare yourself for a season. So that's
what I would do. Bro. I would go to a
p I. Sometimes it was two weeks at a time,
sometimes it was a month at a time, and I
would go I would fly to Arizona put myself up
and I would kind of remove myself. This is right

(17:36):
before I got to O T A S remove myself
from the circle of just relaxing in the casual workouts.
And I loved it because one I was back in
that mindset of making myself believe, Man, I gotta make
this team, even though I knew I didn't my man.
I gotta make this team. I gonna I gotta impress
my teammates, gotta impress this organization. I gotta come back bigger, faster, stronger.

(17:57):
And on top of all that, there was always young
guys there. There was always young cornerbacks and young receivers.
So that was my way of testing myself. So when
I showed up to a PI and all season and
I'm looking at this young dudes about to get drafted,
I'm looking at this young Brookie who I saw last year,
or a cornerback where I played against. Now every day
I'm working out kind of measuring myself against these dudes

(18:18):
I got. I still got my house. M oh, I
can't run him. We go do drills and I'm winning
in these drills. Okay, cool, I still got the jews.
So that was that was my confidence. And then I
walked into the organization whether it was Minnesota, Seattle, or Detroit,
and my head was high because I was just killing
these young boys who was supposed to be the next generation.
And I'm twenty nine, thirty years old. So that was

(18:40):
my way of kind of understanding where I was and
how I was supposed to level myself against the competition.
APR I was at API. I went to Brett Fisher Incredible.
I was Jack just facility we worked with. It's one
of the most popular facility, man. And basically I started
working out on my own my rookie and like after

(19:02):
my rookie year, right, and I had to go to
his facility just for rehab. And I remember seeing Donovan
McNabb and there, I remember seeing Brian Dawkins in there.
I remember seeing Big Leonard Davison there. I remember seeing
my boy, Big Sean Smith or detackling there. I mean,
they just getting a couple of other young guys just
getting and I'm like, man, and then they started calling

(19:23):
me out because I'm I'm on I'm on the table
getting my rehab, and you know, McNabb like, dude, you
know he remember me playing quarterback in the state. He's like, bro,
why are you not here working out? And I'm like, well,
you know, I'm doing my own thing. That's that in
the third like where you know, but I was at
some type of fitness club. But they said, so you
actually saying you're doing better than what we're doing up

(19:44):
in here. Get better, bro. So he kept challenging me.
So I think I went there for two months and
every month I went in there for my rehab. Every
single day they cracked jokes, they got in me all
of that, to the point where, I mean Brett was
in there laughing. He would be doing my he'd be
doing my rehab laughing, and I'm like, what's so funny? Dark?

(20:06):
I mean, he's like, man, that's right. And I said,
you know what, I gotta get in here. And when
I first got in there, bro, First of all, Donovan
McNabb was one of the strongest dudes I've ever seen
in my life. Hucks's okay. He used to have like
the tount and eighty pounds dumbbells doing. I'm like, man,
this is a quarterback man. So off tops Brett put

(20:28):
me with him and made me um challenged myself more
so as I went there through the years, you started
seeing guys like Drell Reevers come through there. Man to
see Derell Reevers work. My guy Will Sullivan, he's kind
of like our uh, I don't know skill position coach
that's out there. Um to see him and Derrell Reevers work.

(20:49):
To see the classroom work they put in. I mean
Reeve literally looks at every number one receiver. When I
say spends time, spends like three days on each one. Yeah,
I mean. Then after they watched the film, they go
out to the field and run the routes that they've
just seen it finished watching, I mean everything, you know

(21:09):
what I mean, we would get that type of teaching. Man.
And like I said it, you may feel like you're
paying for a little too much at first, but then
when you see the results, you see how you come
into O. T A S And you just doing your
thing and you know your position A coach like, oh
you look good. You know what I'm saying. To get
those compliments many and the world. It's crazy because I

(21:32):
think some young guys they feel like, oh, I've been
doing this my whole life, so I can come back
to O T A S And pick up where I
left off, and I think one off season I did
do that. I didn't pay for that extra training, and
I got back and it took me a little while
to get my footwork exactly how I wanted it. It
took me a little while to get my strength to
where I needed And I thought to myself, I never
want to start behind the eight ball when I'm showing

(21:53):
it for O t s. Because the last thing I
want is a coaching staff to be like, yeah, they're
still nice, but I mean it looked like a little rusty.
Let me ask you a question, because you're you're a
little guy, not a little like as a little but
you're smaller, and you know you did you ever worry
about like like nutrition. I had to because I had

(22:15):
to like make sure I regenerated. I had to make
sure I didn't get too big. I can't make sure.
I had to keep on my weight when I played fullback,
had to make sure I was explosive at certain times.
People don't realize that I knew like I hadn't. I
knew exactly what my body felt like. I had to
feel like on game that I had to be two
hundred forty six pounds. I knew exactly what I had
to be on game day to feel right. I knew

(22:36):
exactly when I had to eat, the exact times I
had to eat all of that. Yeah, man, so, but
that that's because I was a guy that I mean,
I fluctuated between fifteen within fifteen pounds my entire career.
So is there anything specially from a nutrition standpar because
a lot of the little guys, I know, they McDonald's
and they eat whatever I wouldn't eat. But you know

(22:58):
I wouldn't eat, you know, tremendous well either. I would
just have a diet plan that was based off of
my knowledge or lack there of the food groups. And
I never found out what I was tolerant too or
intolerant to um. And that kind of leads me into
something else I did when I was off this past month.
As I went met with your doctor, talked to Dr

(23:19):
j I didn't talk to Dr James, met with him.
They took my urine. They poor blood. It's called the
outcat test. Stuff that's all got your allergy test. I
walked in there and uh about a week ago, and
they showed me every single food that my body has
a tolerant c four and doesn't have a tolerant force

(23:40):
and all your favorite foods and I'm not saying it's
just because I'm black. Chicken was on there, and of
course I'm like, how can I be alleged to chicken?
I love chicken with Doc j in beef, but I
wasn't alleged to pork when he taught me bro like
I still used today. I don't. Obviously I don't live

(24:01):
in Arizona anymore, so I don't go to him all
the time, but I actually still call him and like,
you're supposed to like change up what you eat like
every six weeks, right, totally use your body comes tolerant
to it, right, and it doesn't process and digest and
filter out the toxins versus the nutrition. So I'm talking
to this guy and I'm like, I'm in awe because

(24:22):
I'm learning all this stuff about my body. And I
literally said, I literally said this to him. I said, man,
this is crazy. Did you get a zone? I did? Yeah,
they I did all that welcome. I felt amazing, welcome, amazing.
Now listen, So after I got done with this whole
treatment where they pull blood and then they oxygenated it
and then they put it back in, and I'm feeling

(24:43):
them just lively. And then I'm changing my diet suddenly.
And then I go do cross fit and I'm feeling
like a monster. And I'm thirty four years old. And
I was talking to him when I went back in.
I said, you know, this is crazy because if I
would have incorporated this into my career, you still be playing.
I'd still be pointing, how crazy is that? Mike? Now?
And I'm saying this realistically because you know, towards the

(25:05):
end of my career, it wasn't that I couldn't play.
Like my last season with Detroit, I gave him forty
catches with you know, eight games missed from a broken arm.
So it wasn't that I walked away thinking I couldn't play.
It's just that my body wasn't responding the same. So
it took me longer to recover from a game. It
took me longer to get myself up for a practice.

(25:26):
I would have to, you know, take a tiling on
the red bull just to get through practice, you know what.
And and and I'm looking at this nutrition plan, I'm like, well,
if I would have had this, you would have been recovering.
And that's what I'm telling you. And I know this
for a fact. My brother, Marshawn Man, that's what started
to happen to him towards the end of the career.

(25:48):
Towards the end of his career, you know, he got
he got a tolerant to it, but he he wasn't
recovering the same way. It wasn't that Sundays just you know,
Sundays he was fine, but during the week, and people
gotta understand, to play our game, you need reps. It's

(26:09):
you can't just go out there. You know, everybody in
Brett Fave that's to make some first ballot, right, you
know what I mean. But you need reps. And as
a runner, it's a field thing, um and spend. Marshawn's
a zone runner too, so so that's even more of
a field thing. And if you don't get the reps,
you're not gonna look the same on Sunday. And what
happened was it was hard to practice because of the

(26:32):
physical punishment. My dude would take on Sundays. And I
tell him all the time he laughs, but I still
think he's gonna get bored in October because at some point.
And it happened to me my first year out. All
your homies, all the homies you've just known for the
last ten years, and they're playing this weekend. I got

(26:54):
a game. You know what I'm saying. I mean, they're
in meetings, you know what I mean. You don't get
me wrong, Like got a lot, he has a lot
going on, but you got a lot of money to
a lot of money, so you know, money money here.
You know what I'm saying. But I don't know. I
tell him all the time. I'm as big as fan bro,
and I tell him, dude, this game doesn't miss a
lot of athletes, Guys like Megatron, guys like bism This

(27:18):
game is gonna miss miss him because, like I said
on TV yesterday, some of these some guys in this league,
the entire opposing team stands up and watches. Then't work
because it's just like yeah, and then that that's how
it was when it was, you know with Calvin, guy
who took care of his body and had a specific
diet and went to sleep at a certain time, and

(27:40):
you know he had this this t that um you know,
it was you know, inducive to you know, him sleeping better.
That he would take every night. I'm talking to him like, yo, man,
this is amazing. You know I'm speaking of Calvin. Actually, uh,
I talked to him last week. He was out here,
he was get him on the show. Was in l
A kicking and you know he did this little Boy's
Trip got I wasn't. I'll get him on the shop.

(28:03):
I said, you was gonna get Johnny? You said just
I mean, I'm just saying, you know, Johnny's off the grid. Bro.
I don't know what's going on, but I need to
stay off the grid. I need to I need to
give Johnny or Josh Gordon or even Calvin on the show.
But uh, you know it's crazy though, man, Mike, to
answer your question, you don't bring it off full circle.
When I played, I didn't think about creating or supplements.

(28:24):
But I wish I would have gave it more thought
because you know, athletes say it all the time. You know,
we're whale oiled machines. It's like having a vehicle and
if you're driving a Ferrari and you put the wrong
stuff in it, you put you know, bad gasoline and
you know oil that doesn't match the vehicle. Uman you
don't take care to break pads. You know your car
is gonna break down eventually. You know, that's just the

(28:45):
name of the game. That's why you have to pay
homage to guys that do it on the level of
a Charles Woodson because he hopped in that car when
he was twenty one and then played till his forty one,
which is absolutely amazing. So that's crazy. But know what, Yeah,
let's talk about corner. No no no, no, no no, you gotta
be be t he always gotta be bah, come on,
t t okay. All right? Uh oh, that's got a

(29:12):
little West Coast flavor to it. Ah. This is like
something Dre would wrap two right early two thousands. There
is a little yeah, yeah, um, come on, let's talk corners. Man,

(29:35):
what you got? What you got? Who's the best in
the league right now? The best? It's a lot. It's
to me, it's about your flavor. It's all over what
you like. It is about flavor. It's you know, it's
a lot different than years past. Whether there was only
a couple of guys before we're getting into that show.
Can we talk about the best guys you played with
or against? What made them great? The best guys I
played with. Uh, I would I would have to start

(29:58):
off and say, Antoine Winfield, he's a cornerback. Was that dude? Hey?
I played with him in Seattle for a little bit
and he was older than but stee balling. And I
remember playing against Twine. He beat a nickelback and forkers
right and I would have him as and he would
bang you and he was little. Oh, I didn't think

(30:20):
you was gonna say that a Twine will bang you crazy, right, Yeah,
Antoine was about probably abound five, he would say, and
he's probably around one. You know, he hit like he
two on listen. I've seen him, Uh at cornerback, short
end of the field, right, he's on the outside. They're

(30:41):
pulling towards him. Uh. They pulled a guard pitched the
ball to running back. I'm on the sideline. I don't
even know why, because I usually didn't pay attention defense.
But I used to love watching him play because he
went hard every play. So this particular player, I'll never forget.
It's like ingraining my memory. He's sitting there, he reads
the play. He was intelligent, so he knew what was coming.
He shoots so automatically route the gate. He beats the receiver.

(31:04):
So I'm like that, that's impressive. Second thing that was
impressive about to play. He sees the guard pulling, he
doesn't avoid them. Most corners would avoid him. You know,
let's avoid him. I'm a show effort, but I'm not
really gonna get by the plagues. I want to get bangs.
He submarines, chops the guard, dawn goes, and now the
guards on top of him. He kind of bear crows,

(31:24):
takes a few uh steps on his knees, and then
wraps up and running back in the backfield for a
tackles the corner. That was It was one of the
most amazing plays that I've seen. And Twine didn't jump
the highest, he wasn't the fastest, but as far as
intelligence effort and playing the game in the the way it
supposed he played, and Twine was one of the best

(31:45):
cornerbacks ever played with. Well, I mean, obviously you know
my guys still playing with the sherman man Uh to
see this guy working practice and then to se him
and I told him this this past weekend because he
used to sit in the very first rule eleven his
rookie year. Very first of all, I sat in the
second you know what I mean. I was in year
six or something like that by then, and this guy
asked every question. I mean, and wasn't it just about football?

(32:09):
And he's talking about life? I mean, you know, when
should I say this? When should I do this? When
should I do that? And people don't realize what if
markets tu fund sustaining an injury? We may have had
to weight on the Sherman train, you see what I'm saying.
And not only she was all also Walter Thurman got
hurt too, and then Sherm got on and I remember

(32:33):
he with him first getting on and he was just
telling me, like Mike, I'm different, I'm different. I'm different
right And now when I started to see what with
him was He's not just a disruptor. He's not just
a swatter. There's a lot of those guys out here
like they're swatters. You know, they get to the ball
throm Oh, I gotta ppu. It's all good. You see
what I'm saying. You may catch something on Sean. He

(32:56):
maybe not. He's not. The flight is that, the fleet
is the foot. You see what I'm You may catch
every now and again on me does get bored? You
know what I'm saying, but he changes possession with the ball,
he takes it up off of you. Let me before
I ask you if he's the best in the game
in your opinion, I need to ask you this. What

(33:17):
do you say to those who have the argument that
Richard Sherman is the ultimate system cornerback that because for
so long he didn't travel and he doesn't get a
ton travel. That's why I said, for for a long
time he didn't travel. Um, he he doesn't get a
ton of interceptions. He's a p bu guy. Uh, what's

(33:41):
the what do you say to those people that have
that argument? I mean, you can't get mad at I
don't know, uh what Timmy was. Send me somebody rich,
tell me somebody is super rich Dre did. He can't
get mad at Pa can't get mad at Paul Allen's

(34:03):
kids because they were with the last name they were
born with. You can't get mad at this man because
the system he came into what he's supposed to say, Hey,
stop doing what's that making us successful in getting us
the Super Bowls? And let me play man so I
can show everybody I'm the best corner this. Similar to
people who were mad at Westwalker when he's catching on

(34:24):
the Boss system receiver. You know, but he still was
torching the league. He was torturing the league. But but
here's my thing, and even more, what was Walker? Look
at you? Look who your quarterback was right right right?
You know what I mean? Tom like literally would would
go to him and certain things. But going back to Sherm,
I can't get I can't get mad at him, for
that's the way that that's what they play now when

(34:45):
they asked him to do certain other stuff. He travels
with the receiver and he does his thing. He plays
the nickel when he has to, he plays and he
does his stay. I'm just playing Devil's people ask me now,
receiver now the code who played with him? And I
wanted to know what you say? Cold is dude? I
played against? I mean Patrick Peters? Wait wait, wait, wait
what I'm telling you. You gotta answer, Okay, Okay, I

(35:07):
tell you. I'm I'm glad you said that. And I'm
gonna tell you what. I'm glad you said the coldest
guy he played against Patrick Peterson because I need to
know aster you tell me why who's the best between
the two? But why is Patch? First of all. First
of all, that's not a fair question. It is this
man was just at my camp. This is my guy,

(35:27):
and I've seen him work, but i've seen him work
like practice. I haven't seen people Patrick Peters work. Answer
the question. Look, I'm asking your first question. Good job,
nick um. The reason to me what makes Patrick so scary? Man?
And I go back to his rookie year, Dude, it
was more than just his ability to follow number one
receiver everywhere. He's always around the ball. I don't know

(35:49):
if he's the playmaker that Sherman is as far as
actually tracking the ball. I think Tyron Matthews more in
that same category category as far as tracking the ball.
Mathews right, But m dude, when they kick. When we
kicked this dude the ball on pump return and I
was on punt, my heart's beating out my shoulder. Pass dog.

(36:11):
I don't want him to catch it. I'm hoping I
see that arm go up, and he never did it.
You see what I'm saying. He never put the arm
of a fair catch. I'm open, like, bro, please fair catch.
And then when he catch it, you don't know whether
to keep running towards him or whether because he break down.
He'll run around, he'll run through. He beat He beat
the um at that time, it was the St. Louis Rams,

(36:32):
but it's at Los Angeles. He beat them by himself
in an overtime game his rookie year. Listen, let let
me tell you. We played against the Arizona Cardinals when
I was a Detroit Lions and they put Patrick Peterson
in the game on offense. So I'm like, yo, what
is going on? I get up off my seat. I'm
that sidelined, like I gotta see this. I want to
see the runts around, know what he's gonna do. He's

(36:53):
on the right side. They put him in motion, so
automatically you're thinking of us reverse. They don't hand the
ball off. Carson Palmer gets the ball, he turns around.
I don't know if it's Carson Palm or just standing,
but so they flipped on the ball. Everybody's young at
verse reverse for he's hauling getting it, trying to turn
the corner from now. He's on the left side of

(37:13):
the field and it's the wide side. So I'm like, yo,
somebody needs to track him. We kind of got him covered,
but it looks like he got the angle he stops,
turns around with verse pivot, comes back the other way.
Now he's running the other direction back where he started.
I'm like, Yo, this dude did a double reverse by himself.

(37:33):
Looks up. He hits the receiver running a corner route
on the dime on the sideline. I'm like, this is
the craziest player I ever seen. How could this dude
get the ball, run two reverses, pick his chin up
and hit a guy on the dime. We'll talk about
athleticis total athlete? Ridiculous? Total athlete? Right there a TV
we got enough time for or no time for or

(37:57):
not because our special guest did get confirm he's coming
up soon. So I'm gonna push you off the next week.
But we're gonna have so so depths owned Jermaine dupri
on the show later on in a few minutes. Actually,
so yeah, Jamaine Depreezon, let me join us on Skype.
I mean, if you don't know what Jermaine dupre I mean,
go back to dig back in the nineties, only two thousands,

(38:17):
so like that rat, Wow what we've had on the
show before as well. I mean, man, I want to
know what the brat doing you know what I'm saying.
I want to know what the brat doing, jape all
that stuff. So I mean, so yeah, we're gonna have
Jamaine to be on the show to talk about talk
about everything. The MC daddy make you jump Jump. That's right.

(38:37):
We're not mentioned the fact that he was dating Jack Jackson. Yeah,
resume his resume. I know this resumeation. The only thing
is they looked to be the same hype man. And
I know she like four or five or something like that.
He five four? Why they look the same hype bro?

(38:58):
You mean to tell me she got she put some
she put the hills one bites, you know, sit out
for man. I got a quick on offer. You'll ford
jumps in. This wasn't the original one. I just do
this in live right here. You're gonna check the my
NBA podcast or not. What's up? I'm gonna check it out,
check it out everything. And I'm not I'm not the
biggest biggest NBA guy, but especially now that the playoffs,

(39:20):
I am. Oh. I love the NBA. I love the NBA. Well,
you ain't played in Nate Man. I thought I was
gonna play man. I turned I turned down network. I'm
asking offers to go to college and play football where
you did the right thing. You're right, You're right, you
know what I'm saying. So don't be don't be acting
like you want to be an NBA bawler. And I'm sor,

(39:41):
don't be acting like I could talk in BA all
day long. Was speaking of that though, real quick, Mike,
who you got in the finals? We don't even know
the finals right now? On the right finals, I take
the finals gonna shaky baby, okay see. And Cleveland two
weeks ago, it was hands down gold Stay Warriors versus
the Cleveland Cavaliers. Okay see in Cleveland, let me tell you,

(40:02):
I like the Golden State to win it. But my eyes,
my common sense um tells me they got matchup issues
all around the board. They just just did you mean
to match up issues? They just can't. It didn't just
seem like Older State gets to a point where in
the game where all of them shooting three, everybody, nobody's

(40:23):
even in the hole for the rebound. Bro I swear, yeah,
that passes Curry was spotting up, you know what I'm saying.
Everybody like Jordan passed it to him again anyway, and
we gotta beat the something before j D. Hop, man,
I know you got something t D. Uh yeah, yeah,

(40:47):
my bad fellas, My bad fellas j So that's what
happens right in the podcast game. Sometimes we take things
out of order. Tomi was and you know, guess that
