Speaker 1 (00:01):
What's popping? It's your boy, Nick Burlison, I'm real Mike
Rob and this is the RV Podcast. TV dropped that intro.
Yeah oh no, no, yeah, Well I had a long
day not really trying to go out, trying to go

(00:24):
by my lady, got a dressed out for man on
the town and now ain't going down. See now, baby,
I got some staffs for you and I was some
real playing super special fast for your teach you at
this game go down. As they analyzed the winners, they
might shout my name out because you're bad, mommy. We
can jump tune into the r V show. He shout
and tune. Tune into the r V Show show tune

(00:49):
all season long. Man that does not get on, Nate,
I'll never gets I'll be singing like I'm in a
shower with dog. It never gets home, never get it,
We'll never This is a movie and um we will
turn this into a weekly show on TV. But as
for right now, we are on YouTube obviously you can

(01:10):
check us out iTunes, Stitcher, This is the R and
B Podcast And coming up on today's show, UM, you
know we have to talk about with a heavy heart,
the tragedy will Smith, Um, it's something that transcends football,
transcenor sport. We're gonna speak about that. We're gonna talk
about coach arians saying that moms are afraid to let

(01:34):
kids play football. Obviously, Mike, me and you feel strongly
about that. We'll talk about Johnny man zeil Um. Word
on the street is that he's living with von Miller
or living with Josh Gordon. He's living with somebody in
l a Um. So we'll talk about that. Man, I
got the school. We don't get Listen, Mike, we don't

(01:56):
get to that. I know, man, But look, man, you
ain't even going over the script right. You're not going
over the script right. And they come on, man, just
because you ain't been in the work, just because you
ain't been in the job in a few weeks. Okay,
you know what I'm saying. Let me handle Listen as
I'm in studio reporting to work. You see what I'm saying. Um,
We're gonna start off with Will Smith Man like right now,

(02:19):
right now, I ain't going to hold up, hold up,
hold up, no hold up, man, We do that after Wilson,
Let's pay respects to big homie dog. Let's pay respects
to big Homie. A moment of silence, straight up shout
out to his family, everybody affected by by by the
death of Will Smith and and and and everything. I mean,

(02:40):
it's his kids, his wife. Um, this man was a father, husband, teammate, uncle, UM, nephew,
grand child. I mean, you know what I mean. The
list goes on and it's heavy hearts. I mean he
he was a big team guy, Nate, So you know,
I had many battles against him in college. The guy
was always a respectful competitor, tough competitor. We oh he was.

(03:03):
He always the guy that had the big sombrero. That's
what we call in the meeting room, you know, the
guy that we had to we had to block. And
then when I got to the National Football League, same
same deal. Leader on and off the field. Man. Um,
we we just couldn't start this show without without talking
about that, without without paying the respect and that. I

(03:24):
know you got a lot to say about it too, man. Yeah, no, no, Michael,
I appreciate you, um cut me off and doing that.
That's definitely something that we had to do. And it's tough, man,
because you know, our job is to talk about football
and it's uh talk about everything current, um, everything positive
and everything negative. And when I heard this news, uh,

(03:47):
it hit me in the place that I didn't want
to go. So I can only imagine, Um, the people
that are directly affected. You know, his wife, Uh reports
were that she was shot twice. UM, the kids that stended,
families surrounding him, and all the fans that have seen
this young man grow into a man. I mean, his
last post that he put on Instagram was I'm out

(04:09):
in joint time with my wife and and and the
last thing that we hear about him is that he's
being slain in the streets. And that's exactly what it is.
He was slain. I was trying to figure out how
I was gonna talk about it, what I was gonna
say about, um, guns and violence. And I know it's
a hot topic, and I know that some people say, well,

(04:31):
you know, guns are necessary, it's necessary evil. But I'll
say this. I'm not gonna tear down people that own
guns and own them properly, but I will say this.
I heard a comedian say that, um, you know, guns
don't kill people. Stupid people with guns kill people. And
for me, it's two things. It's stupid people, and it's

(04:51):
um people that are afraid. And if you combine the
two of those things, then you have complete ignorance UM
and the gun in the hands of somebody that one
they don't know what to do when they have a
dangerous weapon like that in their hand. And then too,
they're overcoming so much fear that they make the worst

(05:12):
decisions in the pressure moment. So you know, if you
have a gun and you want to properly loose use it,
and that gun is an extension of your ego, then cool.
But if you're leaning on the fact that a piece
of metal putting your waistband is any way making you
a bigger, batter, stronger man or woman, then you need
not have a weapon because too many lives are taking

(05:35):
from us and they're taking too soon. Absolutely right, it's
you're absolutely right, man, And I'm I'm I'll say I'm
a gun owner. Um, I'm registered responsible gun owner and
um literally man, it's only for protecting for protection of
the house of my kids, like it goes nowhere. And

(05:57):
and you know, you just understand that you don't even
want to get into a situation as to where you
have it on you and you know that, like you
talk about, that ego which all men have to an
extent um, comes out in in a in a tough situation.
So um again, man, we just want to send our
condolences out from the R and B podcast to the
family and everybody affected. Man um uh, let's move on

(06:21):
to the next topic. TV. You gotta you gotta beat
for brother. I got no beat today. We want to
keep a little bit mellow. Okay, well, you know so
it's big shot, you know, prayers and thoughts his family
for sure, But I will let the people know as usual, Hey,
what they need to do, you know what they need
to do every show, every show, every episode. But first
of all, you need to be real because your r
V podcast and recognize the real, which is the Golden

(06:42):
State Warriors winning seventy two games, history being made. Yeah
that's true. On for seventy three on Wednesday. That's history
being made. So this recognize the real because we all
talk about the bull se season like the past six
in win season. Obviously they weren't able to finish it off,
but there's an order to it and the something to
be said of being a part of it while it's happening.

(07:03):
So I'll tell you what. I tell you what though TV.
To be honest with you, man, it is a great
feat man, because all the games and stuff that they played,
the physical toll that they put on their bodies, and
the commitment that they have to be to be great
for so many on so many nights, man, so many,
so many you know what I mean. But for me,
I'm one of these guys. Bro, if you don't win
the championship is off or not. You know what I mean.

(07:26):
I mean, I I really do feel that way. Man.
If they weren't, if they don't finish this thing the
right way and repeat, if they don't go out the
way that they're supposed to, I'm telling you, man, this
will be This will be um in the history books
of the other Golden State Warriors. Man, it definitely wouldn't
be in the first chapter. You get what I'm saying.
And they need to recognize that, and I think they do.

(07:49):
Just listen to all the interviews, listen to them, listen
to them talk. They realize that, and I think they are.
I think they are problemed to do it. Man. Yeah,
you know, I agree with you, Mike, and I think
we have this thought process Uh, that you have to
win it in order to validate such a great feat.
Because we were active watching the nineties, we were active

(08:10):
watching Chicago. We've seen them grow. We've seen Michael Jordan's
grow from this rookie who was you know, shot happy
and could do anything to becoming the most complete player
on Earth and then willing his team to one of
the best seasons we've ever seen. I mean, seventy two
and ten eighty two games, you lose ten games, and

(08:32):
then they went on to validated by saying we're about
to dominate the rest of the postseason and bring a
championship back Chicago. So, Mike, you hit it on the head. Listen,
whether they finished seventy two and ten or seventy three
and nine, it's all gonna fall on the shoulders of
this team whether they win it or not. Yes, it's

(08:53):
a great feat regardless. But um, it's just like the
Patriots when they had Randy loss, Brandy had twenty two
timesdowns or whatever it was. It was a crazy season.
I remember being in Vegas watching that game versus the Giants,
thinking like, this is it like the Patriots about to do?

(09:15):
You always in Vegas, bro, every every story you got, man.
I was in Vegas getting out of getting out of
the pool. Oh, man, I was party. That's that stuff
right there. Hey, you ain't lying. We like part actually
with my wife at that point and I'm watching the game.
It's snow and I'm like, yo, the Patriots are about
to do what the Dolphins did. They're gonna go down.

(09:36):
Is one of the best teams ever to do it?
And then they lost? And then you think, what happens
to that train of thought? Are they still in your
mind one of the best teams ever do it? Unfortunately, no,
no matter how good the season was. So yeah, if
the if the Golden State Warriors win it all, there'll
be stamped is one of the best ever. And then
we can have that conversation who wins bulls of Warriors?

(09:58):
So are some of the best things were? Hold up?
Hold up though, hold up though? You know we we
we played football. Let me let me jump back in
football real quick. I gotta ask you this. I gotta
ask you this, Nate, I've been dying ask you this. Bro.
What's up with Johnny Dog? What's up with Johnny Manzel? Bro?
You're talking about Johnny Johnny Manzel? Oh man, you know

(10:19):
who I'm talking about. Come on, man, what's up with him? Bro?
Before we get to that, because yes, you guys completely
hijacked what I was trying to set up right there.
Oh my bad, my bad life. He set up with
stuff you need to do, this pop culture related and
it's like stuff we really need to do for the show,
which is my bad. Man. Hey man, you know how
we know how we know? I know, we just roll.
We just roll with it. But you make sure to

(10:40):
subscribe it to r you just comment, leave your rating.
We need that love and tell a friend to tell
a friend, tell a friend. Let's tell a little Johnny. Hey, look, Nate,
what's up with him? Dog? Like? First of all, if
he's trying to get back in the league, talking to
TMZ ain't the way to do it. Talking to r
B podcast might be. Don't come on, Nate, what's man? Listen,

(11:01):
I'm gonna try to get Johnny on the show next
week because I know Johnny's out in l A. Actually,
two weeks ago, when I was in l A, I
went out to a spot called Mr. Nice Guy. It's
a little lounge, grape food, grape vibe, grape and be honest. Um,
I walked in there and I run into Greg little receiver,
and then I see Josh Gordon and then I see

(11:22):
Johnny like like, what's something my guys? So, you know,
we kick it back chilling. They had a little booth.
I had a booth and we actually saw I forgot
to do his name. I don't want to slide the
light skin calf and the Lakers who was like Kobe
told me to stop dunking like a light skin dude.
You remember that dudember Head. Yeah, I don't want to

(11:45):
slide him, but he's butterfly ball. Anyway, it was a
lot of athletes in here, so UM, I went up
to Johnny and Josh and I was like, yo, listen,
your story is gonna be told regardless. You know, when
you make mistakes or you do something that people don't
agree with, you know, what we do in the media
is we're gonna talk about it. Um. Sometimes guys are
gonna be brash and harsh, and a lot of it

(12:07):
is because of y'all's wrong doing. But if you guys
want a voice, you guys want to talk and come
holler at us, come on the podcast going on network. Um,
we'll let you guys speaking. Josh was like, you know,
me and Johnny were just talking. We got something big
in it works. Um, we're gonna highlight you in a
little bit. So, uh, you know, they weren't drunk, they
weren't turned up, they weren't in there stumbling and fumbling

(12:30):
their words. Deal, you're supposed to the deal. I'm trying.
I'm trying to paint the picture because people think that
Josh and Tonny out there just going to ham. That's
not the case. They were casual. They were having a
good time, um, eating and relaxing. So I'm gonna have
Johnny come through. I don't know if I get johnsh
to come through, because you know, a light of the
news recently, Josh scored he might want to, he said,

(12:52):
he has a story to tell. No, but this is
my thing. This is my thing. Okay, what's up? If
I'm mean, if I'm meant, Josh was this and that? Look,
I would say this if he was sitting right here, bro,
if I'm in his position, and Nate, let's keep it funky.
We both already know the drug policy in the league, Okay,

(13:13):
whether it's right or wrong. Okay, we already know, especially
for what for for marijuana and stuff for what he
gets down with. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we already know that
we got guys in legal states and not. We already
know that. So for him to even get to the
point to where he's not in the league right now,
to me is crazy. Okay. And I'm not saying that

(13:35):
he might not have an issue or a problem of
substitute problem, whatever the case may be. But if I'm
trying to get back in the league, you best believe
there will not be a trait, a story, nothing. Okay.
Let me position myself to act like I'm really talking
to you. Okay, yeah, nothing, Okay. That's gonna happen while

(13:58):
I'm not in this league. That's gonna make a team
think twice, Make a general manager think twice, Make a
general manager's wife think twice about talking about me at
the table at dinner anything. I don't want anything to
come across their mind. Bro Come on, I agree. I
agree that what I will say is this, if it

(14:22):
shows and what the reports were deluded or traces of
marijuana means that Josh could have been in a situation
or a place or location where come on, by the
time legends, dog, come on, with him Urban legends. Dog,
let's keep it real, Nate. Come on, man, Come on, dog,

(14:44):
Come on. Dog didn't say tested positive for a mere
one that said traces are deluded. Switch means he could
have been somewhere where we was. That he could have
been in the club and the guy's guy could have
been smoking. He could say, you know what is that smoke?
U smell? Let me get up out of here. He
could have been at a house part. He could have
been n Nate. Then nobody would pass. No, no, nobody.

(15:07):
I mean, I'm just saying stuff happens from this man.
I know whether I'm in a location where somebody's smoking
or somebody And that's what I'm saying. You're supposed to
be aware, you're surroundings, you know what time it is. Dog,
you're trying to get back in the league. You're talent. Man,
he's being our league in the beginning. I agree with
you right now. I feel I'm just say this. Not

(15:30):
everything there is a gray area in light, but what
you're saying, you're right. Hold. Hold, I'm glad you're said that.
I'm glad you said that because I gotta tell our
listeners right. One of my favorite songs is about this
guy by the name of Jonathan McReynolds, right, and and
basically he's it's a song called No Gray and it's
a spiritual song, but it's basically talking about, man, why

(15:53):
are we living so much great? Why can't we make
decisions and make it be black or white? Not obviously race,
but make the decisions be black or white. Man. That's
what's wrong. You can't live on it. You can't think that,
uh just marijuana may show up in my in my
yearing okay, but then still live the same lifestyle with

(16:15):
that stuff gonna be around. No, Mike, I get, like
I said, you're right if if you're in a position
sound defended man, instead of just speaking the truth. I'm
not mad. I'm just saying. I'm just saying what the
possibilities are. What I what I will agree with with you, Mike,
is that if you're in a position that Josh Gordon

(16:35):
is in, then Mike, you are right. You shouldn't be
in a gray area. That means if if I'm in
the car and I got friends in the back and
somebody's about to roll up some weed, then either I'm
getting out of there. Ge now, if I walk in
the club, I'll walk in a house and somebody smoking weed.
Are there's cannabis around, and yeah, I need to get

(16:56):
out because I don't have the luxury of saying, well,
I'm not smoking it. Second hand smoke shouldn't get me
in trouble. So, Mike, You're right. What I'm saying is
that because it's deluded or traces, we can't assume that
Josh was smoking weed over the last year and he
just purposely disregards the fact that he was on the

(17:17):
outs of the NFL and doesn't care about him getting
back in that man. But but Mike, you're right. Bro,
You're right, You're right, and we both know we Mike,
come on, let's keep it real. We've been there. I'm
trying to say a long time so that what I'm
trying to say to you, I've never I've never failed
to drug to us. Have I been around weed, Yes?

(17:39):
Have I been around cannabis and marijuana and the house
parties and clubs in situations where the drugs that failed
are in the house, are in the place, are in
the location. Yes, But I know what I had in
my hand, which is the gym that the NFL is
and I don't want to risk this gym for a
couple of moments of a quick high. There it is, there,

(18:02):
it is. So when you talk to Josh, why don't
you relate this stuff to him? We we've had these conversations.
I remember when I was in Cleveland and I talked
to him, um, and I was just like, look, man,
I've seen them all, Like I've seen Randy. Yeah, I've
seen Calvin. Like I'm looking at you, bro, and you
are a phenomenal watchbra And he was, and he was

(18:26):
probably around twenty pounds overweight at that time and not
me assuming we were at practice one day and he
was like, yeah, man, my knees kind of bothered me
because I'm just a little out of shape. Like you know,
the time off that I spent, I didn't get in
the best shape that I could have. I've seen Josh recently,
a couple of weeks ago, and you know, Mike, we
tap each other up and we give each other the hug.

(18:46):
It's like, yo, what's up, bro? You know I'm I
grab a dude shoulder, like, now are you feeling you? Good? Man?
Josh is in tremendous shape. I mean, cut face, slim next,
slim shoulders, big trapped buys. This dude has been busting
his ass in l A. So from this situational reports
of him possibly not getting back in the league, man,

(19:08):
it's funstrating because I'm looking at this new two thousand
and sixteen Josh. I'm talking about this new and improved
j G Flash Gordon, and he is ready ready to
take that spot back Top five Dinner a Lot. Well,
you know what I've always agreed. I mean, when he's on,
he's one of the top three or four guys in
our league. I feel like the league that the league

(19:31):
needs him, the league needs that talent. But his issues
has have never been a physical. His issues have always
been the decisions he had he makes outside of the field.
And I just hope that he surrounds himself with the
right guys that's not gonna even put those distractions around him.
That's what he needs. He needs people that's just not
gonna even put him around him, that's gonna say, come on, man,

(19:52):
we're gonna make sure that you right. We're gonna make
sure that you write so that you know that's it
on that man. We still don't have no musical selection TV.
It's the whole, the whole Like that, Mike, I got
something for you right here. Uh uh uh uh that's

(20:19):
the hot stuff right there. Hey look, Nate, Hey, can
I actually one thing, man, Actually one thing. Bruce arians
Arizona card No head coach says that moms are stopping
their songs from playing football. Man. I mean, you know,
and I run a little league. I run a little

(20:40):
bit of spring football league, and um, I can't say,
and uh, certain communities, I can't say in the black
community that they are. Um. I mean kids are signing up,
they're playing in the community. I see. Um. But I'm
what you laughing at. Man, It's the truth. Man. You know,
I'm not just saying they're not playing football, but I'm

(21:03):
just saying and it leads to a bigger discussion that
I mean, again, our kids. You know, kids in certain
areas only see athletics or entertainment as ways to get out.
They don't even see that you could be a doctor
or or plumber or whatever. Whatever. But anyway, um, I
think that the numbers across the United States, yeah, people
are in moms are taking their kids out of football. Uh.

(21:25):
What's your thoughts on that? Man? Because I have some
crazy thoughts on it too. But what are your thoughts
on our game? Possibly uh losing? Um, but you know
our future because moms are putting their kids in football.
It's it's it's it's an epidemic, and it's getting it's
getting bigger and bigger. You know right now, you know

(21:46):
my kids play uh football in excuse me, and I'm
working right now. I gotta go now listen, Um, you know,
kids these days are you know, their parents are so
concerned with the injuries to their body and also the

(22:06):
head injuries, the concussions, the CTV, all these different things
that uh, you know parents haven't directly been affected by,
but they watch and read and and see these these
kind of bad examples of what football can do to you.
So they're pulling their kids out of the young age.
The only thing that frustrates me about that is you

(22:29):
can't expect the kid who hasn't played football on organizational level,
a certain skill set level, from a student perspective, being
able to learn the game, and then put them in
high school and expect them to be as caught up
as everybody else. You look at parents who want their

(22:49):
kids to be in tennis or soccer or baseball prime example. Um,
and yes, these sports might not be as violent in nature,
but these parents say, oh, why want my kids to
play baseball at the age of five all the way through,
all year round. But you're right there though, man, them
sports you just, especially baseball, that's so much of a

(23:11):
skilled sport that, yeah, you have to develop that skill.
Are you know what? Dog? And it goes back to
the old saying, bro coach Toby a long time ago.
Our game will will be, always have been, and will
continue to be about pain. How much can you give
out and how much can you take? Brute force sometimes

(23:31):
wins and football and so it is different, so so
so to my point, you can't expect the kid automatically
they adjusted in high school. If you haven't been introduced
to that, can't might be introduced Mike, I'm not saying that.
I'm not saying you're a brother guy. I'm not saying that. Listen,
didn't you hit this man? Dog? Come on, man, that's

(23:54):
that why I received we're talking man getting the triches.
You didn't even let me get my point. Now, I
don't want to listen. Have you been in a fight before, Mike, Um,
I'm not proud about it, but yeah, okay. So I
would say maybe at the young age you got in
the fight. Later in life, you got in a fight
for whatever reason, you weren't shocked when you got into

(24:16):
that scuffle later in life. That's how football is. You
gotta get introduced to this sport so when you get
hit in the mouth, you're not shocked and want to
walk away from it. I want these parents to allow
their kids to feel, like you said, Mike, the pain,
and feel the energy, the intensity, and to be real
some of the violent nature of what football is. So

(24:39):
when they get to middle school, when they get to
high school, they're already accustomed to it and they can
enjoy it because Mike, you know, like I know, we
played with guys in high school, even something college who
weren't built for what the game is really meant to be.
That's a fast paced, very high intense, painful, violent game.
So I want kids to get involved from that standpoint,
and I get it. Parents are afraid and they're saying, well,

(25:00):
I don't want my Keith Geeric cool. But here's the thing.
Your kid can get hurt doing anything. So if you're
going to be a helicopter parent and help over around
every single sport event, our thing that they do. You're
gonna always be on edge, biting your nails because life
is gonna bring your child pain. Might as well let
him do something enjoyce you. You write, Nate, and and

(25:22):
I agree with all of that. I'm not gonna even
repeat it all um, because you said it perfectly. Uh.
But also I take other things away from the game
of football man um. To me, it trains CEOs. And
I say it like that because you know the culture
and how discipline we have to be regimented. We have

(25:44):
to be on your own. Um. Stuff that you have
to prove to yourself. You have to be self motivated um. Um.
The sacrifices you make moving different places, getting cut, um,
you know, setting up shot then getting cut again, have
to look for schools and uh, the the the the
adversity of the of the women in the clubs and
this everything right, it really teaches you how to deal

(26:07):
with adversity. It really really teaches you how to manage
right and the issues are that more oftentime than not.
As football players, we don't take the exs and ohs
and translate them into everyday life, uh vocabulary so that
we understand it, so that we can't succeed in life.

(26:27):
A lot of times our scope isn't isn't that big.
We're always talking about all men, I gotta be ready
for the next season. I gotta be I gotta be
good in football. I gotta be good in football. I
gotta be good in football. Right when, for real, football
is training us to be successful in life. Right, if
only we can just make the correlation. A lot of
us can't always make the correlation. You see what I'm saying.

(26:49):
And so from that aspect, I feel like football has
been wonderful. It's been awesome, especially if you play it
the right way. And always tell people when I was
in Seattle, especially when I really started getting into my
mold at full back, and really I'm talking about every
single time I'm in the game as a head collision right. UM.
I really started learning from um, from from rugby players

(27:09):
about leverage, UM, about having twelve cleats in the ground.
And most of the time, if you have your twelve
cleats in the ground and you have a base, UM,
a lot of times your head and your body is
not um absorbing the hits the ground that's absorbing it hit.
And once I understood all of that nothing stuff, I
take care of my body. I was able to tell
the trainers, hey, look watch out for certain hits. I
already know I'm weak here, watch out for this, and

(27:31):
they already knew m. I Thank god for guys like
Sam Ramsden, who U? Sam? Out there? Um and Donald
and all those guys in the crypt on in Seattle,
because they would literally they would literally watch me and say, look,
I saw what just happened. Are you good? You know
what I mean? You're good? They would check with me,

(27:52):
and we developed a relationship as to where I knew
I could be vulnerable around them. And that's what a
lot of football players we don't trust a lot of
the trainers. You see what I'm saying. I knew I
could be vulnerable around him and cry and be like, yeah, man,
I can't go back in the game right now, and
I'm hurting. You see what I'm saying, as opposed to
the word times in my career where it's like oh no,

(28:15):
oh no, I can't even be I can't even show
this around this trainer, right. You feel what I'm saying.
So that's it that's it. I feel like when parents
they hit the mindset that one, this is the reason
why they don't put their kids in football. There's a
couple of reasons. One, I just don't want my kid
to get injured. And then two is, well, my kid

(28:36):
really isn't that good, so I don't want to put
him out there and put him at risk. And what's
the point of getting him involved in football if you
know he's not gonna make it to the NFL. It's
it's unrealistic goals, So we're not gonna get him involved.
And I'll say this, like you said, Mike, the parallels
between football and life are so close that once you're

(28:57):
done playing the sport at any level, like you have
learned something in the sport of football that will carry
you through some tough times and will propel you past
individuals that aren't built for what life is going to
bring you. And I bring us all around by saying,
if you think that your kid isn't good enough to
play football, let me tell you this. Maybe his understanding

(29:19):
of football one day will allow him to be a manager,
a coach, and a owner. Like I know I'm jumping sports,
but I gotta talk about this while so in my mind.
A couple of years ago, there was a teacher in
the Bay Area. He said, I don't want Steph Curry
coming to my classroom because some realisted my kids can't

(29:39):
be an NBA. You know, Steph Curry is tall and
he could jump high and the shoot wheel. A lot
of these kids can't do that, so I don't want
them to get in realistic goals. And I wanted to
rip that article out of my hands and send it
back to the guy. It frustrated me because maybe Steph
Curry walking in the classroom motivates a kid that wasn't
the basketball to get in the basketball and that same
kid goes on to be a four point on student, valedictorian,

(30:02):
graduates with honors, goes to college, get his masters, and
then owns a basketball team. The same thing in sports
with football. So these kids. Dude did have a point
by saying, not every basketball player's dad played in the
NBA and had two resources. I'm not saying the whole
article was right. That's true, but not everybody has Steph
curs resources. And I had to get that off my mind.

(30:25):
I get that, but but if if one kid in
the back of the classroom that can't jump, can't shoot,
can't do anything. It's fascinated by this man that has
made it and it's making millions on and off the court.
One of the biggest athletes that under Armourers ever signed,
potential worth of his contract under armour is upwards in
the billions. Then maybe this kid in the bad classroom says,

(30:47):
I want to get involved in basketball, and maybe that
same young kid, instead of paying tickets to watch the
future NBA players play, are cutting checks of the guys
playing on the court. Same thing with football. Let these
kids go out there and play, because some of these
parents would be surprised just how much you will fall
in love with the support of football once your kid
goes out there and enjoys it. I got your name,

(31:08):
uh t D. Let's get another track before we get
or no our new segment or no or no, uh huh,
that's hot right there, CD. What you got for us
this week? Big dog? Alright? This week on? Or no?
When I ask you guys something in the headlines and

(31:30):
you guys tell me if you agree or not, I'm
gonna start off with actually just one. So Kobe Bryant
plays the final game in the NBA tomorrow, capping off
a big retirement year. Of course sports we had to
pay you Mann and retire. We had Lynch retired, Calvin
Johnson retired, Charlotte Woodson retired. So do you guys see
any big names in the NFL retiring next season or nah?

(31:51):
I do. Now, Look, I can't. I can't tell you
any names because it's too early. And as analysts, we
digest information and we you know, and we form, we
form opinions, and just too early in the process. But
what I can't tell you is with all the money
guys are making, which I love, with all the education

(32:12):
guys are getting about safety and all those types of things,
every year, I think you're gonna see a name or
two that surprises you. That's kind of big, where they're
stepping away from this game and saying, you know, financially,
I'm okay. I have my body, I have my health,
I have my wits about me. It's time to move
on to the next chapter. Football isn't everything. Yeah, you know,

(32:35):
I got four guys that come to mind, and not
because their skills are in a complete decline. Um, they're
not as good as they were in years past. But
I would say because of Mike's reasons, they made enough
money and they don't want to take a lesser role.
Um in the future. And it's Frank Gore, Yeah from yeah,

(32:59):
Andre Johnson, okay, Uh and Kwan Bolden, Oh that's a
good one. And uh Darrell Revers Reeve. I was about
to say that, Um, I think you're absolutely right about
I'm not I'm not taking a shout at their skill
level because with how talented they are, you know, those
receivers can go Uh, Andre and Kwan can be a

(33:21):
two three for the next four or five years. Number
one get older and we talked about that, No more
corners get older, the more receivers get younger. Yeah, and
and and you know, Durrell Reeves is a prime example
of you know, making them enough money to relax on
the years that you put in. And then Frank Gore,
I mean he obviously Mike, you know, one of the

(33:41):
most consistent backs is League scene. He's tired of getting
beat up. Man. So you know, both of the guys
that come to mind. But speaking of Kobe, I have
to show some love, you know. I got I got
a pair of shoes that I posted on Instagram. These
are the Kobe eights. These are a prop. Guy, I'm saying,

(34:01):
I'm I'm all about the pros. So here we go
right here, see I got the mom but yeez, he's
right there. I'm made these little custom joints with the
glowing and dark soul. Okay, get those. So next, we
got another pair of Kobe's that I bought a while back.
And this is a tribute to the nine draft. Mike,

(34:22):
can you tell me where Kobe was drafted? Charlotte Charlotte Harness,
Can you tell me what picked? Uh? No, oh okay,
So you see that thirteen right there? Yeah, yeah, my
my joints? All right, get rid of those, all right?

(34:46):
He look, man, don't hit the pictures in the back. Bro,
Look all right, your wife, here's here's my favorite. Here's
my favorite Kobe's right here. Um. And not because they're
the most comfortable or they're the best, I mean because
he's was not gonna get you a contract, bro, Okay,
so stop stop milking, all right, Just let me see
the man. These might be the flyest, most ugliest shoes

(35:12):
that any players introduced. Okay, I love I love who
remember these? Kobe the Moon boot terrible dog this man,
take them off the screen. Come on, man, he's making
them off the screen. Bro. If you don't know about these,
I mean I know about them. They look like they
look like Mace had him on in the Shinny Suit video.

(35:33):
Come on, man, that's it. Hey, Nate, Man, I appreciate
your dog. Man, appreciate you back next week. You're back
next week. Let's get it. Man, get Johnny in studio. Okay. Hey,
