Speaker 1 (00:04):
A Huddle is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeart Radio Victoria La.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
That is not key my favorite one.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
They went right into the.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
It was a tough one, but we sort of knew
the ratings. We're gonna come out on top. We are
on top today here on the.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Huddle Podcast, I'm I'mreo Costa Ruiz alongside my Primo, my prim.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Thank you very much day to.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
My grandmother would do like happy birthday to you, Happy bearsday?
Yes do you?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
My Madrina Sonia shout out to has a tradition where
we sing the happy birthday and then she goes immediately
into se So we have like seven versions of it,
all from like different Latin American countries. They don't have
enough time for that today on the Yellhad podcast, there
is a lot to get through, but just know that
there is a tone of celebration for my will sell.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
All day long. Twenty five came so quick for you,
can you believe it?

Speaker 4 (01:33):
I feel like I've been twenty five for like the
last ten years. So I don't know, I'll.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Take it forever. Yeah, forever, you know. Okay, So look.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Where should we dive into with these games ahead, No.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So much to look ahead to. We have Detroit and
San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah yeah, chiefs Raven Yeah, well yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Could not have been more excited for Detroit this week.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yes, you could just say.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
You saw so many videos of folks on social media
showing how nobody moved from the stands after that game,
not one person. The players were already in the locker rooms,
they were doing their all celebrations in there, and every
fan was still in there just taking in that moment.
They've been waiting for it for decades well as you know,
so that's going to be huge and they have no

(02:21):
small task ahead of them going up against the San
Francisco forty nine Ers. I mean, if you talk about
two physical, gritty teams that fight to the end, woo,
I like it.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
I think it's going to be a case where there
is going to be a majority of the country rooting
for the Lions, and.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
With good reason.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
They haven't been to the NFC Championship games since seventeen
ninety one, and I do feel like they have a
little bit of momentum. The forty nine ers got away
with one because if it was the Paskers were able
to finish drives that game would have turned out differently,
and Perty admittedly did not play well until he did

(03:02):
at the very end what he had to right. And
I think not having Deebo Samuel is a big loss
for them and it could potentially be a big absence
for them if he can't go, And that's one that
it'll probably be up to game time. And I think
obviously brock Purdy can't make mistakes, and I think the

(03:25):
run game has to be established and they have to
stay with the run game. And I think for the
forty nine Ers, with the secondary of the Lions, like
Cam Sutton, he got picked on a lot. They went
after him, and Mike Evans had an incredible game. For sure,
he put up some numbers. So I think in that
sense that's what the forty nine ers need to do.

(03:46):
But they have to stop the run because you know
Gibbs and Montgomery, they are their change of pace backs
who pick up chunk yards and the forty nine ers
gave up chunk yards to Aaron Jones and the Packers.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
So yeah, and demolishing through that damon but wild.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
To see, right, But I could easily see the Lions
going into Santa Clara and winning. I mean, I can
see it.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I do think that it's tough to play in Santa Clara,
and this is the type of matchup that they've hosted
before in conference champions We've seen them win. We've seen
them play really tough games that come down to the wire.
And if there's anything we know about Shanahan, he's not
going down like that. But I do think it's going
to be a similar situation where we saw like last

(04:34):
weekkeninst the Packers, where it is going to be way
closer than anybody is going to feel comfortable with. But
that's the type of game you want at this level
in the postseason. And then we go to the AFC. Yeah, oh,
Chiefs and Ravens.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Similar to what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Where you feel like a lot of people are rooting
for Detroit or better yet against the Niners. I feel
like what I've been seeing is a lot of people rooting.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
For the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yes right, right to stop the Chiefs dominance. And I
think if you're a Chiefs fan, this isn't shade on you.
This is what happens when you're building a dynasty, when
you win as much as you do and when you
have a lot of people call him the boogieman at
quarterback right in Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
I mean, six years as a starter, six years in
the AFC Championship game is just a remarkable run. And
I think you have to look at him like we
did when Tom Brady was playing. He's a guy that
you can never count out. And when we were talking
about the receiving corps, how they were thin at the
receiving corps. Who's going to step up? It's all of

(05:33):
Rachid Rice, Like where is Travis Kelcey. Those two guys
stepped up? And against Buffalo they were very efficient. They
didn't make a lot of mistakes and where the Bills
was still going, yeah, like running really hard, really just
just moving the chains. And that's why with this team,

(05:56):
I think that they have met their match. Though with Lamar,
I think Lamar is at a different level. Even though
Spagnola in that defense has been great, I just think
like Lamar's on a different level.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Right.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, now he is one and three against the Chiefs
in his career, but you're right, he has leveled up
even more so this season, which I think what sometimes
you see is quarterbacks get this huge Payday, this contract
which he was working very hard towards finalizing with him
and his mom just doing the negotiations. He got it

(06:26):
and then said, and now we're going to take it
up a notch.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
And now MVP. Right maybe right, so that that's not the.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Can't deny that he should be one of the front runners.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Now, the Ravens were better than the Texans, yes, right,
and I think now it's different with Kansas City. They
have the experience and it's.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
An even pretty even match up here in terms of
power and talent.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
But that that Ravens defense just that's that defense. Really
they know how to be stingy, and when they're stingy,
they're tough. Ro Quand Smith, Patrick Queen, I mean, Kyle Hamilton.
They got, as they say, some dogs on there.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Right.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, I I I love this for us, you guys.
Sunday is gonna championship Sunday.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, so so good.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I already have I already know what snacks I'm gonna
make at the house. Snacks are very important because you know,
I don't want to move. Once it starts, that's it.
Everything has to be at the house. But yeah, it's
gonna be good and we're gonna keep the celebration here
going with an INN Studio special guests who came through
for Will's birthday, do not move, because we already know

(07:30):
you've seen his content, you've seen his face, and you've
certainly laughed at his videos all over social media. Alno,
Gonzalez us right after the break here on I Huddle,

(07:51):
So it's.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Not gonna.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Christian McCaffrey with the touchdown run there against the Packers. Now,
Christian McCaffrey, Yeah, he's well known, but I bet you
he knows who our guest is. We're talking about somebody
who has taken social media by storm. How about this
on TikTok something like just two point nine million followers,
and then also on Instagram some like one point one

(08:28):
million followers. The man is a comedian as well. He
is a content creator, he is a brand. He's also
Latino and that is why he is on the L
Huddle podcast right now.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Give a warm, warm welcome to the What's up?

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Leo? That's crazy, everybody's sitting down.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Please please, He's all for you, Leo.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
I know, thank you, guys, so much of a dramatic guys.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Yeah, a little.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
We were talking about what you do for a living
right now and so amazing you're living this dream. If
I told my mom that I was going to be
a content creator, she says, okay.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Say so get then again, they said that about journalism
for all of us, right.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
So what did your mom say?

Speaker 4 (09:20):
What did your mom?

Speaker 5 (09:20):
We're all venting, let's call her mom's No, yeah, my
mom has just been excited. I think at first she
was like, when are you gonna work? Though, when I like,
and I think I when I started doing the videos,
I think she was still like, okay, but you know,
Dolmany is hiring right now, you can get a full
time like Martin can get you in. So I think now,

(09:43):
I think after after a while, it finally starts to
be like it kind of makes you know, after she
sees a few things, she's like, okay, and they pay
you for that, and.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
You're like, don't question about that's just right.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
And guilt then you know that's that's a strong thing
that we've all felt here.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
Yeah, No, for sure, I think there's you know what
and uh, we're not get here now. I think that
one of the things that's crazy, And I know you
have felt this is like you do feel guilty sometimes
doing things for work that seem fun and thinking like, oh,
my dad never got a chance to do this, my
mother got a chance to have this much fun. And
I think that also puts things into perspective when you're

(10:21):
like stressed out, not to you know, no validate your
current stress, but it's like, oh, but my dad's like
in the fields. You know, my dad's out there trying
to was doing that for forty bucks, and here we
are like drink this juice. You know. It's just such
a crazy Yeah. Yeah, So I think there's there's always

(10:43):
guilt even but that's why I think that I think
that's part of the work too, because I'm like, oh,
let's like keep working so we can let them in
on it too.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I mean, I think that's just part of being a
kid of an immigrant, right, Like it's those generational traumas,
generational curses.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
And we carry that.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
And I don't think the guilt is always a bad
thing because I think it reminds us just how long
it took for our families to get to this point,
for us to have the opportunity to be like they
pay me to talk for a living they paid me
to talk about football for a living, you.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Know, like like it's true.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
It's true, and to your point, not to invalidate the stress,
because every job has stressed to it, but it's it's
a good little reminder of like, man, we came such
a long way and your journey has been wild. Because
I remember watching your videos early on. I was one
of the early one point one were followers on Instagram.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
Okay, she was the one that when I had like
five hundred, she was like road to one mill.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Your content started because I don't know how many people
know this, but you were in the local news world,
which will and I can certainly relate to. I started
in local news, and so the one that really got
my attention was the package. If you don't know what
a package is, it's like a story all put together,
all edited, that you did on the tail lights or
on the blinkers, a revolutionary new trend using your turn signal.

(12:04):
I lost it laughing because one nobody here uses the
turn signal, but to the way that you created it
in that style. But coming from local news, what was
that journey to pivot into what you're doing now?

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Honestly, it was crazy. First of all, I didn't know
that you guys were going to wear those shoes. Look
at that. That's crazy. And then I'm here with.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Nike sponsorship coming soon.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
I know. Yeah, I was doing because I wanted to be.
I wanted to be a reporter for a long time
because I think my approach was always like I want
to try to Oprah and you know, started like in
a smaller local place and then work my way into
like like, uh, like positive story because I never wanted

(12:51):
to do hard hitting I never wanted to do breaking
news like a feature reporter, something feel good stories like
this person wrote a letter across the country, she opened it.
So I wanted to do like really nice stuff like that.
And then and then uh, I got my first my

(13:11):
first like TV station job in Eureka doing master control
and let's get in. Let's get in. Because at that
time I had been doing I had worked in ministry,
I did like nonprofit work, and then I got that
part time at the stage it was like an overnight job,
was like it was part of the book. It's like, yeah,

(13:33):
I spent hours overnight, No, but it was it was
it was my way in and I was like, I'm
working on TV TV, not even news. It wasn't even
stay like a news but I was like, the what
I just did is on TV now, you know. It
was always that. And so I spent like two years
doing that, and then I went back to Fresno after

(13:54):
after like two and a half years of being away,
and then about a year in I get I get
an interview offer for to work out on Ebon, which
was crazy because it was like that's huge.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Yeah, yeah, that's it's a big deal.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
You know, it's such an ode, I think, you know,
and and uh and then in Fresno, you know, as
in La, it's such a huge market.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
I look like that, I look good looking good great.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
No, but I so I got hired there super And
I'm not saying this like as a pick me, like
I'm not saying this for you to be like no,
but no, I was unqualified. I had been editing videos,
I had been making videos, but I did not know
how to edit on like proper software. And they took
a like I remember like getting the job and feeling

(14:43):
like a hack I call it for real, like oh
my gosh. And then I remember like one of the
editors was teaching me how to edit and I was like,
I'm sorry, like I I don't.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Know why they game what did they use Avid or.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
They used vert Vertigo?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
I think it was every now really completely different system
and they're all similar but totally different.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
It's like Super but.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
But that one was close to A Yeah, yeah, very
similar and like very final cutish.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Look at your final cut. Yeah, but roll.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
Roll the package. So yeah, I started doing that and
then uh, and from there I jumped to another local,
a different affiliate, and then and then I went on
my way to Reno a few years later, got a
job there and uh doing audio and uh and and
graphics and everything. And then I try to be on air,
like I try to apply. Your goal was to be

(15:40):
it was always the goal and I and my whole
thing was like I did a lot of breaking news
in Fresno. There's a lot of stuff that happens there
and and and that's breaking and and so when I
went to Rena, I was like, I think I could
do this, Like I think I could cover an area
that has way less stuff than Fresno. I think I
think I could. They didn't think so, so I didn't

(16:03):
get that job. I didn't change departments. And then one day,
I just used the green screen to do a news skit,
and then that one, uh just got.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Traction, and and was that your first one?

Speaker 5 (16:18):
That was my first one.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Did you ever think about doing the weather?

Speaker 3 (16:22):
You'd be great at that.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Well, he's done people here.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
I would want to because I always thought, like, I
want to do weather because then I can for sure.
Because my thing was always like stay out of people's
business in news, Like I didn't want.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
To be like you could show personality exactly right exactly.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
And and then like my friends like we all like
growing up, like some of my friends, like we were
all good in like sixth grade, and then like after
high school, they're like mugshow on TV. I was like, oh,
I don't want to be the one to say it,
you know, yeah, but I want to be there, but
I don't want to do that. So I I was
always like weather, but then I was like meteorology. I
don't know about that.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
There was there was a reporter in San Francisco and
his name was Rico Chakong, and every time he would
do his reports in Pleasant Valley, right, and so everybody
always had put him in the box. Okay, there's a Latino. Right,
he's the one and he's doing all the Latino stories.

(17:19):
I thought like, well, why are they why don't they
put him on.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
All the stories?

Speaker 4 (17:23):
So yeah, so so did you ever come across that?
I mean, I guess in Fresno there was maybe more
representation or.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
Well, you know what, in Fresno, I was such a
fan because we have in Fresno there's a do you
know whom? Have you heard of?

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Her name sounds very.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Yeah, the name sounds familiar.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
She's like she is like, they're like, she is my opera, okay,
because there's someone next to her, like her anchor will
be like Warren Armstrong or Dale, You're wrong, and she's
like and I'm gonna. I'm like, oh I can't miss that.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
Yeah, yeah, that's my vibe. But that see that, like
that inspired me though, to see that. I just wanted
to more of it, right, everything, But see what an impact?

Speaker 5 (18:18):
Ye see how young she looks. She's been doing it
since I was a little kid.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I think I'd be like, I'm one hundred and two
years old and look like that.

Speaker 5 (18:26):
Yeah, when I was with her. I was with her
a few weeks ago. I went to because that's that
what she works at at the ABC affiliate. They're very
very kind to me, so they always they always invite
me to go hang out, and every time I see her,
I'm just like, what a dream like love watching you

(18:47):
and was inspired And.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Yeah obviously though having that TV background though, helped you
a lot for sure, right, more than what people realize.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
Yeah, I think I was always preparing because I was
always because of because of like wanting to do journalism.
I was always very like pr minded.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Very like branding market I knew that I.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
Wanted to do some sort of marketing. Sorry, I was
also I'm looking that way mainly, I know what my
side and they told me they wouldn't moved the camera
hones no, but ready to Cara one take Caro please No?

Speaker 1 (19:29):
But uh yeah, when you think about cut to now
and this year the NFL brings you in to cover
some of the biggest games across I mean, was there
a scenario where you pictured that being part of your
of your trajectory?

Speaker 5 (19:48):
No, that was that was not on my bingo. Car
I was so shocked because I I think when I
when I came to l A, I always was like, oh,
this is cool, this is cool that you know, I'm
going to this, going to this, and then maybe a
few weeks past and I'm like, oh, you realize that's
what you did. You realized that that that was the

(20:08):
National Football League, like the same one that has always
been there, the same one that that that brings uh
and unites people and and you know it's a it's
a whole culture. And so for me, uh, it was
just a crazy, crazy thing and I think it it
hit me like the second the second taping that we did,

(20:30):
which I think was.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
In Kansas City.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
That was the last one you did.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
Here in La Kansas City and a couple of others
in Dallas.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
Dallas is yeah, that's a big time.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the one that was crazy that
the craziest was Kansas City though because Dallas was raining
that day gettle rain.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Thank god, it's a close.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
But no. But the Kansas City when I was like,
I don't like it, and you know what, like not
to like be deep or anything, but it was so
it's so meat to see so many people together and
like it's just like like just to just to see

(21:13):
people just love what they love so much and like
and it's such a it's such a really beautiful thing
to be able to say like dang, Like I like,
how exciting. I think it's just like when we're kids
and we like, you know, decorate our room or we like,
you know, decorate our binder or whatever it's yours, and
you go to Kansas City and it's like, dang, like

(21:34):
these guys did that to a bus. They did that
to a so sick like you like, that's your thing,
Like this is your thing that no one can take
away from you with your team. And so I think
that's what was so nice about it, too, is all
the passion because I think you know, as you as
you do more and more unbelievable stuff, maybe you start

(21:57):
to detach a little bit and then you see things
like that and you realize that, oh, this is the
real world and people are doing things that are really
are are into and that's really nice.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
So who would be like your favorite players teams.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
That you enjoy watching, honestly if you have.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
Until I it wasn't until I until I came to
l A that I was like, I need to really
be behind the rams. I think that's when I got
here and I just thought, like, you know, because when
I was in Hanford close to Fresno. It's so split there.
It's well, at least growing up it was like forty

(22:39):
nine Ers Raid in Handford. It's like all my friends
dads had the Raiders garage and and for me, I
was I don't like the colors maybe then now just
but no. But then when I came here, I was like,
this is so exciting. And you come to a game
and it's like it's a whole different thing, you know,

(22:59):
And that's and that's and that's so that's the cool
thing about La too, is going to the soccer games
and into baseball games.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
You get it all here, and it's just.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
Like just the pride that you have that people have here,
especially the people. I feel like, you know, I'm not
I'm so new that people are like they're my Dodgers,
they're my rams, they're my the you know. Yeah. But
so I think that's what it is like watching people
be a fan of this stuff, you know. So yeah,
and then I'm like, oh, Aaron Donald. And then I
go to Shell, I'm like, oh, look, Aaron Donald.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
But to your point, you're right, whether it's the way
you phrase it, like they're my Dodters, they're my rams,
they're my cowboys. Like, this is very much how sports fans,
but certainly NFL fans look at it, and I think
sometimes we can sort of disassociate with what it is
because we're looking at the bigger scope of the playoff
picture of who's going to the super Bowl, and you
forget the day to day people who have the tattoos

(23:54):
of their favorite team, who have like their super Bowl
the last time they want to bring tattooed on their stomachs.
We've seen it all right, but it is that big
of a deal to these folks, and when we're in it,
we can sometimes lose it until.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
We go to like big you take it.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
For granted, for sure, you take it for granted.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
So it is such a beautiful reminder to see how
how deeply people not just love it but make it
theirs exactly.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
And that's I felt that, you know, obviously, I took
Kansas City was such an amazing like you see it,
but then you go to Dallas and you feel I
couldn't go anywhere. I went there to get a to
try barbecue. They're like, we didn't, boys. I was like,
I just wanted a sandwich. Boys, But I like over there.

(24:43):
It's like it's a religiou. And I think that's the thing,
is like when we talk about like people, you know
that people like are not so interested in certain things
or you know, we can't we can't all unite on
the same type of ideas whatever. I think that's the
exciting part is like this is their thing. It's just
what It's exactly that point, like, this is my thing.

(25:05):
You can't take it away. This is what I show
up for. This is what I you know, And then
I think about like when I when I came here
to I think the chargers. It's just like the way
I think sometimes people forget like these these people are
normal people who work hard and they save their money
to be able to do that three hour, five hour

(25:28):
drive to fly from from another place. Like that's crazy
because I think, like we get so lost and and
and and just everything becomes so uh it just becomes
the motions that we're living in, and we forget, like
you no, Like all of these people are all different stories.
They're all coming from their different places. They had a
rough week or they had a rough life sometimes, you know,

(25:50):
and they're coming it's like this is my thing. I'm
gonna I'm gonna get, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna splurge
screen like that's fun.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Was there any behavior that you saw along the way
and they were like, wow, I'm I would be a
diehard fan, but I wouldn't go with that far.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
Yeah yeah, no, yeah, And I can fandom just for
legal reasons, I can't mention activity.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
But yes, yeah, I mean I'll start bless the Bills
and the Chiefs fans who are out there shirtless, sub
zero temperatures, please stop for your own for your own safety,
please stop doing that. I think it could have been
the Ravens because they did play them here purple identifying
or just and they won.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
The Ravens won.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Yes, yeah, so we'll just go with that.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
I think it was.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Cut to some other incredible opportunities you've had being on
Lopez versus Lopez. I mean, I was on Hulu lu
For you to be able to then transition this into acting,
that's a big.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Cool that's a big leap too.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
It was crazy. It was so like, were you like what?

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (26:59):
I was like who who? Hello? No, It's just so
it's so interesting because I think, you know, like I
I think my cup was already. I felt like it
would have been full doing stories and stuff like that,

(27:20):
and so being able to do something that was really wild,
it was so surprising because I didn't plan on it.
I never did any theater. I never like learned how
to act or anything, and and it was just like
these goofy videos that I was doing, you know. So
I think about that a lot when I was I
was in Nevada, so and I was like filming these

(27:41):
are like two in the morning on my screen, you know,
I think that's and it was early in the pandemic,
so it was so it was so interesting to meet
people later on, like years later, who watch them because
I'm like, you forget that those numbers are actually people,
because you're I was making them alone. And you know,

(28:03):
in in you know what was that called when we
were having to like not be around people, just.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
A quarantine social Yeah yeah, yeah, Oh my god, I
haven't said that one so long.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
That has been a minute.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
Uh. I know that you're a big fan of George
Lopez too, And I remember interviewing GEORGIEA. Lopez and was
so fascinated by his process because he took being a
comedian very seriously and he would always say like, I
don't know why these other comedians don't take it seriously,
where he would record himself and he would play it

(28:36):
back and then he would work on his crap. He's like,
this is our job, this is our business.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Like athletes watching films exactly.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
No, exactly.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
And I think that's a big reason why he's been
so successful. And my friend Al Madrigal, if you had
a chance to meet Al Alan, we went to high
school together. His first comedy bit we did together, and
so to see him.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Also, he took it seriously and.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
He's done so incredibly well. And I know that you've
you've interviewed him and come.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
Across Al too.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
So it's really cool to see, like, you know, we're
doing okay for ourselves. You know, we're out there, we're
doing some things, you know.

Speaker 5 (29:16):
I was so nice. I met him the first time
at the.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
He's really not that he's a big jerk.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
I was.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Somebody.

Speaker 7 (29:27):
No.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
I I met him at the Morbus premiere. Yeah, and
and I also I was like, oh my gosh, So
he was walking by and I was like, and then
my friend like took a pictual and I was like,
that's like a mom like yeah, yeah, and uh no,
it was it was crazy, like he's so nice. And

(29:48):
and then I saw him a few weeks ago, like
two weeks ago, and I interviewed him. It's so nice
for them because I feel like what I've noticed in
and here that I I I mean, I don't think
it would be that that crazy is or deep or whatever,
is that everybody's so nice. I think being outside from

(30:09):
outside of LA, you get this idea that's like Hollywood
is so whatever, and and it turns out like there's
so many nice people in the how it's been one
of those people and uh and George.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah, the same thing.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
You know.

Speaker 8 (30:24):
I think good guys and you you grew up watching
them and then to meet them and to work with
them as like like so like how do you even
You can't really prepare for that.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Sometimes yeah, I will say I feel like in LA,
the Latino community is so supportive of one another, like
in every interaction, even just meeting you, right, I was
like Leon, you were like immediately okay, cool, like let's
let's connect, but can we do? And I find that
to be the case even with people like running into
Eva Longoria, they're always like very very humble, and especially

(31:00):
if they know you're Latino, like, oh, you're you're one
of us? What can I do for you? And I
think it's because l A overall is a very tough city.
It's hyper competitive, and so we know, I think that's Latinos.
We are still the group that's trying to come up, right,
We are still the minority here trying to build this force.
And so every time we meet one another, like and

(31:23):
what can I do? What can I How can I
promote you? How can I get you in the mix?
At least that's been my my perspective so far.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
It's insane.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
But she was excited to see you.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
Every time I see her because the first time I
had met her because she followed me like three years
ago on TikTok and then I met her. The first time,
I was like, was that a mistake?

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Like you yeah?

Speaker 5 (31:48):
Yeah, yeah, and my name and I was like, bro,
stop stop, don't say that, like and so and then
like as time has gone on, she's so nice and
so supportive and always and you know, I think it's
it's so special when you see someone who is doing

(32:08):
and has been doing such great, big.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Work for us.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
Yeah, and I love I love when I'm like when
I'm somewhere like you know, you know how you go
like a laundro matter or something and there's like a
TV there and then you just see like I.

Speaker 9 (32:26):
Think he does, and I'm like, my heart, it's it's
it's funny to see these these uh celebrities who come
up to you and they geek out, like they really
geek out.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
They know you, they have followed you, and like who
has been the one celebrity Maybe it's but who is
the one celebrity where You're like, wow, they are really
into what I do?

Speaker 5 (32:57):
You know, I think the even every time, I'm always
like stop so and like that. That's always a shock.
And also I'm such a big Amy Polar fan.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
She's gone so like effortlessly hysterical. Yeah, just brilliant, Yes,
very smart.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
And and I remember I went to a she was
the EP of some of of a Netflix show and
and she walked in and I was like, oh no,
Like I'm not even because one thing I don't I
don't like to bother people, Like I don't like I
never bother people unless they come up then I'm like
I'll respond. But like I'm like I don't like I

(33:42):
see them. I'm like, oh my god, let me go
take out the trash and like, what's name Amy? Amy
was standing right there, and that night I was like,
you know what, I just I'm gonna say hi. I
just want and I'm gonna say hi from a distance.
I'm not even gonna go up. I don't ask for pictures, nothing, nothing,
And then uh and then she looked up and she's

(34:02):
like Leo and I was shot up, like oh my gosh.
And that was That was pretty early on into me
being in La and that I can honestly say that
that night and that conversation was such a like it
filled my well because I think I've had moments where

(34:23):
I'm like, oh, let's let's go apply to Charlie's again.
Let's go I can still make some phies. But that
night with uh, oh no, it is good. I She
told me, she was like, you know, I I watch
you every day and I don't remember everything she said,

(34:44):
Yeah I did. I wrote it. She was like, I
watch you every day. You know you're so I don't
even like to say, but she just gave me like
this like speech, and I remember just being like I
like you because I'm I'm such a fan of improv
and I was I loved m t V and and

(35:05):
and and I'm not Mad TV and and uh growing but.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
But mad TV I remember was like the anti sn
Now I love both.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
In the diversity on Mad TV.

Speaker 5 (35:17):
Yes, yeah, I just love that live thing. And and
I loved watching them break. Not all the time, like
you don't always have to break Jimmy fallon, but like
when they is hilarious sometimes, right, you know, Like I
loved I loved it, and so I think when when
when she talked that night, I felt so it was
such a confirmation. And then John Mayer like three months

(35:41):
ago or two months ago, it was right after the
NFL thing I did. I was like, I saw him,
and I like my Pandora. You remember Pandora? Yes, still I.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Don't even know.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
Okay, Randy, Okay, so Randy has Pandora.

Speaker 10 (35:56):
He's keeping the one there you go Randy high No, yeah,
because if there's a brand deal there Pandora, right, we're
on it.

Speaker 5 (36:10):
No, but yeah, I remember just seeing him and then
he told me just a bunch of nice stuff, and
I was like, I think it's such a shock because
there's those people who are who are known, and it's like, oh,
that's so cool to meet them, that they're nice and everything.
But then there's like the ones that like you're a
fan of and then you don't even know, like how
do I dictate that this is even real? Like how

(36:31):
do I even you know? So I think those two
were the ones that like cool, feel that like crazy.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
I do have more of a technical question because I
think with the rise of social media and content creation,
I think many creators can sort of get a bad
rep and as someone who has had great opportunities to
work with brands putting together one sponsored video that's a
whole day's work, y'all, Like it's no joke, and you're

(37:01):
creating content multiple pieces within a day and you have
to keep it up for you let's just say one
video on average from soup to nuts. Just okay, I
have this idea. I'm gonna write it down to shooting
it to editing. Just let people in on how how
much it actually takes to put this out there.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
Well, I think rent is do. It's not you know,
it's like like you said, like it's a business. At
some point it becomes like we have to and so uh,
it depends. There's some videos, you know that that I'll
walk into something and I'll see a little moment I'm like,
I will write it down and then we'll film it.
We did one at a party, like a little birthday

(37:42):
party a few days ago, down one hilarious take and
it was right there. And then there's some that are like, Okay,
it's going to take a green screen, or there's some
that I'm like, I it's going to take an actual
business because I think it'll be funnier to be physically there,
you know. Green screen is like it works. But then
there's like that other like three element, yeah element to it,

(38:03):
and so yeah, I think some of them I'll spend
a few a few hours writing it just because I
I'll still kind of improvise it, but there's certain lines
that I still want to make sure are in there.
And so what I what I love to do, the
ideal thing that I do. I don't I'm always good

(38:25):
at it, but I still do it as is. We'll
spend a day and I'll write, you know, maybe like
ten skits wow, and then and then we'll have like
a production day on a Tuesday where it's like, yeah,
I love I love to film like ten twelve videos
in one day so that I can and then I'll

(38:46):
edit them that line, and then I can have the
next ten to twelve days weekdays like worth of content.
So now I have this other day to write, you know,
part of a project that I want to write, or
I can audition for something, I can work on the
other stuff, so I can, you know, because I'm so
scared of of focusing too much on like trying to

(39:08):
act and then not staying afloat on social media anymore,
and vice versa, Like I want to still like being that.
I love traditional media and I love just linear. I
love I love a sitcom. I love that type of stuff.
Remote Obrian remotes.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
Something you don't hear people saying, our boss is hearing it.
They love linear.

Speaker 5 (39:31):
I brought my resume too, Yes, actually so yeah, I
think I I love to do things like that and
try to organize it that way so that I don't
have to think about it. In the meantime, I'll work
on some other ones and then you know, we just
showt a video right now that God that we uploaded
like on the way here. That was like a quick

(39:52):
little thing, so it just depends, But I think the
thing is, you know, I want to make sure that
I have time off sometimes and where I don't have
to post anything, so I'm not like trying to see
that I reach quota. Is like there's some days I
don't want to think about that, and then there's other
days where I'm like, well, it's it's the twentieth. The
rents gonna like Dave's about to knock in a few days.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
How many videos don't get posted?

Speaker 5 (40:19):
Oh, very rarely, because a lot of them are so
good that.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Nothing on the cutting room for nothing?

Speaker 5 (40:30):
No, you know, I I very very few. Maybe one
every two three weeks doesn't Actually I've been sitting with
one in my drafts where I'll look at it, I'm like, no,
it's kind of funny, and then like the next day
like that's so dumb.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
But I don't know.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
I did one recently where I where I was a
I was pretending to be like a gen Z News reporter,
and I sat on that one for like four days.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
I was like, that's it was hysterical.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
Yeah, but what made you? What made you sit on that?

Speaker 5 (41:00):
Because I I don't want to come out. You know,
we're friends. I identify as gen Z. But uh no,
I think I was just like I I creased that a.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
Lot of them it's giving breaking news or something.

Speaker 5 (41:16):
I was cracking yeah and c And it performed so
much better than I thought it would so and thankfully
there's not too many people that think I'm being too
serious about it.

Speaker 6 (41:29):
No.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
I mean it's not tired, right, it's.

Speaker 5 (41:33):
I like to equally come after it, like.

Speaker 2 (41:35):
Equal opportunity dragging of everyone.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
What's what's next for you?

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Like? What where else can we see you? And is
there anything that you can give us a little heads
up on without breaking any das.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Or embargoes.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
We're talking.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
I'm not trying to get my more in trouble, right
the business he said.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
It, get those shots ready?

Speaker 5 (42:02):
No, I uh well, the good thing is I just
saw something yesterday. I was a little scene of a
of a of a movie and it's my first movie.
And it's like it's three three The three names attached
to it are really iconic in different categories, I know,

(42:27):
but it was it was it was such a special thing.
And so that that and then and hopefully another thing.
So we're just trying to be employed this year honest,
that's yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
We're so proud of you. Thank you for spending this
time with us and letting us be awesome.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
This was awesome, le just congratulations and success. Love that
Latino is Exito, right, I mean it is so awesome,
so cool to see you do your thing. Thank you
so much for sting by. Now you're part of that Amelia, right,
some time you're gonna come by.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
It gonna be primo.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
You're gonna let me periodically come back down.

Speaker 5 (43:05):
I'm down, Okay, for real, where do I pick up
the check?

Speaker 7 (43:08):
I was gonna say, cut the check, yeah, but for real,
thank you, Thanks, I appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (43:19):
Many said we chuck your harman I as well as
and this is the momental head.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
That's a.

Speaker 5 (43:49):
Nunna be looking out easy, get up, get up.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Oh it's so hard to watch.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
The golden I didn't boppy take it. That's so well.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
You didn't even reply.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
So he hasn't replied, Like in the last talked about
that something.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
I got a package delivery to their house. He asked
me about the dog, but did not want to talk.

Speaker 4 (44:16):
I can't say I don't blame him, but honestly, it's like, yeah,
Bass missed the miss the kick, but the Bills needed
to make plays during that last year.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
That was not his fault.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
Yeah, and Diggs needed to make that catch.

Speaker 4 (44:29):
I mean, that was an incredible throw by Josh Allen,
and Josh Allen did all he could to yeah, and
then some and it just didn't work out. Which brings
me tonto because now we're seeing some of these coaching
vacancies being filled, you know, the Raiders deciding to stick
with Antonio.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Love it for the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (44:51):
Well, but this is now now we'll see what he's
truly made of, because now he is going to a
full off season, see what he's about. Max Crosby threatened
to leave if he didn't get the job, So we
got the job. Tom toe LESCo then comes over from
the Chargers with the Chargers for eleven years, crazy yeah,
and so and then with the Chargers, you know, there's

(45:12):
been the discussions with Harbaugh, and then if Harbaugh comes
into that division makes it a little bit more spicy
and interesting because you can still have Sean Payton obviously
with the Broncos, but if Harbaugh then works with Herbert
and that team, they they need something different there and

(45:33):
I think Harbaugh knows how to build something up, wear
out his welcome and then go right, you know. And
once he had hired that agent that represents a bunch
of NFL coaches and also represented.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
Tom Brady, you knew he was going to do it.

Speaker 4 (45:49):
And this just seems to make the most sense for him,
no question.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
The coaching vacancies are always so interesting because they're still
the Bill Belichick of it all and everybody questioning, and
Atlanta has a.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
Bunch of people, so it's it's.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
Being out.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
And now Vic Fangio and the Dolphins have parted ways.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
Mike McDaniels put out a statement through the team saying
after they assess the full season, this was the best
sort of move.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
It's nuts.

Speaker 3 (46:18):
Yeah, it's nuts.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
But the Dolphins do know that they have to get
very serious about defense, especially in this division. So it'll
be interesting to see who they bring in.

Speaker 4 (46:27):
And is our friend Ron Rivera, like, where's he going
to go? Is he going to land in Philadelphia and
be a DC? There is Miami now in the mix
for him. We only wish him the very.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
Why we tell you guys after the Super Bowl our
jobs are just beginning.

Speaker 4 (46:44):
Yeah, you always think like you're coasting after the Superbot
not even because you still have you still have free
agency that you're going to have pro days combine like
you mentioned, and then the draft. So I mean, we're
still going strong.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
There's a lot, there's a lot happening, but let's not
get too ahead of ourselves because we are just a
few days away from knowing what the Super Bowl matchup
will be.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
For my friend, Will, I do hope that is Niners
get through. Maybe that's the birthday gifts they're holding for.

Speaker 4 (47:14):
You will be nice. That'd be nice, That would be nice.
I mean, I honestly, I think there's a lot of
pressure on Shanahan, no question. I mean to get back
to a super Bowl. Yeah, I think I think if
you look at the people that are under pressure just
in the final four, I think it's Shanahan won Lamar
to right, and then I think Party three, oh Brock right,

(47:35):
Like I think there's because a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
Hating on him.

Speaker 4 (47:38):
Yeah, but he's led the team to back to back,
you know, championship appearances, and so hopefully he'll be healthy
and keeping the fingers.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
Crossed a big week and ahead. I hope you have
the best birthday will we love you so much?

Speaker 3 (47:53):
Fantasy that to.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
Another year, and we'll see you guys on another end
Huddle next week. Make sure you'd like subscribe comments, share
it on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, foll of it.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
Please YouTube all of the fun stuff. We'll be back. Well,
let's get you some take.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
Yeah, let's do it.
