Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Pittsburgh Steelers postgame show its presented by doing it
right roofing, siding and remodeling home of the lifetime workmanship
warranty fight.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
It turned into another fistfight at the fifty.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
After all, such is the nature, apparently of Steelers ravens.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Both offenses came in.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Sizzling and just two touchdowns resulted, both produced by the
losing team, and of course the game came down to
an Oti or Bus two point conversion and it had
to have it first down to kill the clock.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
One thing that did deliver, as advertised.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Was to kicking matchup that was advantaged Pittsburgh coming in
and after Chris Boswell made six field goals and Justin
Tucker missed.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Stew missed two, it still is.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Steelers could also be forgiven for insisting they were the
tougher team. Pittsburgh eighteen Baltimore sixteen makes a compelling argument.
First place in the ANFC North has been defended by
any means necessary.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
On to Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to Jason Aldean's Kitchen and Bar,
and welcome to the Steelers Audio Network postgame show. Michael
Persuda and Charlie Batch with you to put some perspective
onto Steelers eighteen Ravens sixteen. Charlie, I was convinced this
one was going to be a shootout, but uh, maybe

(01:22):
that's never gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
In this series.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I thought the same thing.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
I really, I had a prediction at thirty four to
thirty one. I thought it was gonna be that type
of game, but unfortunately it wasn't that way, and it
went back right back to the typical Steelers Ravens rivalry
on what you saw here today.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Now it's time for Max's takeaways. It's brought to you
by S and T Bank. For every takeaway from the
defense this season, S and T Bank will donate three
hundred dollars to PA Wounded Warriors, who have helped over
eighteen hundred veterans and counting. Of course, Max's takeaways come
to us. Be a sideline reporter, Max starts, and Max,

(01:56):
let's start with the obvious. Are you as surprised as
Charlie and I? This thing was a rock fight again.
I thought there was just too much offense this time,
but I guess not.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
Yeah, well, I think this is what you see, right, Mike.

Speaker 7 (02:11):
I mean when you bring into top five defenses.

Speaker 6 (02:14):
They both came.

Speaker 7 (02:15):
They both, they both came to battle and act for
Shore today. And both these offenses that have been putting
up better than thirty points a piece each over the
last couple of weeks were stymied, and in fact, the
Steelers were held out of the end zone, but not
out of the uprights in this contest. I mean, I
just I just redubbed and reappropriated the name Legatron and
I have now placed it on Chris Boswell just for

(02:37):
going perfect once again. And I feel like another AFC
Player of the Week honor coming to him after his
performance today. And it proved to be just enough in
this contest. And you're right, I mean it was physical
from the from the get go, because you think about
Derrick Henry when when the Ravens and him when he's
rushed for one hundred yards, they're five and oh well,

(02:58):
it still holds true today because they didn't them get
to one hundred yards. And I thought Lamar.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
Jackson looked flustered. Are you're talking.

Speaker 7 (03:04):
About a guy who's always cool, calm and collect you,
who always makes something happen with his legs was held
in check for a majority of this game, and it
was just it was fun to watch.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
And this is what you realize.

Speaker 7 (03:15):
This is why you play football, and this is why
rivalries are there because of these type of moments.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Max, I know, got chippy early on and obviously both
teams were trying to control the line of scrimmas there.
What were you sensing down there? You saw that pushing
and shoving going on, and as people were really just
trying to take over that game.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
Now I think that you know, it's that pissing contest, Chuck.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
You know how it goes.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
I mean, you were there when we had to deal
with ray.

Speaker 7 (03:40):
Lewis trying to give us Bible scriptures while while undercutting
guys and you know, Bart Scott truping and people and
hitting hitting them behind the pack, you know.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
And of course we didn't go without our own.

Speaker 7 (03:51):
I mean Will Willy fucked just about every other player
every time we.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
Played the Ravens, So I mean, it was just it
was that type of thing. A lot of us, he's more,
a lot of us.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Throw down there.

Speaker 6 (04:01):
And the fact that you got Isaac c Amalou, who
doesn't say anything and never just clustered, got him fired up.

Speaker 7 (04:09):
And walking into Justin my fleet in his.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
Faith after one.

Speaker 8 (04:12):
Flighting go on the back of his legs.

Speaker 6 (04:14):
Let you know that this was not going to be
your traditional matchup, and this was going.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Back to old school bar fight, and that's exactly what
it was.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
They made it grimmy, they made it dirty. The referees
were judicious and all their problems.

Speaker 7 (04:26):
I mean, you're talking about what eighteen or nineteen accepted
penalties in this game. So very physical, very cheap, but that's.

Speaker 6 (04:33):
What you expect when the Steelers play the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Max.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
I guess the two takeaways from this that I thought
held up as anticipated from my end. It was interesting
to hear Mike tom and talking afterward about the edge
you have to prepare.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
The edge you have to have when you're preparing.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
For a game like this, and now it's not just
one on Sunday, it's one on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I thought that was a pair on the Pittsburgh side.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
And the two biggest objectives defensively contain two and contain eight.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Not one of those guys wrecked the game.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
And I guess, I tell you beat Bullamore even when
you can't finish in the red zone.

Speaker 7 (05:08):
Well, and you also turn the ball over.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
I mean you think about the job that Patrick Queen did.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Right forcing that ball out of Isaiah Likely's hands and
then recovering that one, and then the Peyton.

Speaker 9 (05:20):
Wilson I mean Justice Hill scrum.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
That came out with Peyton Wilson on top. I mean,
talk about two bigger plays after something catastrophic potentially could
have happened. I think those are the other two literal
takeaways from this game that really differentiated it from really
getting out of control. No team could really get into
a rhythm offensively. Amount of hope is my goodness, but

(05:45):
you're right, But the ads and the result was what
was going to get you ready.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
For this game?

Speaker 7 (05:50):
And I thought, you know, Mike Tomlin and the coachy
staff prepared appropriately. I love what you think of when
you when you say Cam Hayward. You know, only Ben
Roethlisberger has played in more of these. He acted like
that veteran, huge batdowns, huge plays in the backfield at
the moments that we needed them the most. And then
of course you know when you go big game, honey,

(06:12):
you usually go for a fifty caliber rifle. We had
a ninety caliber rifle.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
And TJ I.

Speaker 7 (06:16):
Thought I did a tremendous job hitting Derrick Henry on
a big play when you thought they had the momentum
on a first down to take him down in the back,
and then of course to get.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
The sacks that he did.

Speaker 7 (06:29):
I mean, just a tremendous effort. Eleven games in a
row for TJ. Watt with at least a half a
sack against the Ravens. That's that's pretty tremendous.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Max's great stuff. Really enjoyed it.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
We'll look forward to talking to you on the pregame
show and the postgame show Thursday night when Steelers head
up to Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
All Right, good fella's take there and do it quickly.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
That a little uh audio issues with Max there, he
was in and out, but Charlie, I think we got
the gist of it.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
You do, and and of course where you're talking to Max,
he's always going to talk about controlling the line of
scrimmage and being able to establish that running game just
to try to get some rhythm going. And they wasn't
pretty here today, but they figured out a way to
get it done.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Four on two, three, three, nine, three eight three is
our number. Thanks to doing it right. Roofing siding and
remodeling over a lifetime Workmanship warranty seven two four new

siding and remodeling home up the Lifetime Workmanship warranty.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Walk back through the Steelers Audio Network postgame Show. Mike
Pursuda and Charlie betch with you after Steelers eighteen Ravens
sixteen were coming at you today from Jason Lde's Kitchen
and Bar on the North Shore. Four one two three,
three nine three eight three is our number. Let's get
the phone call started with Larry in moon Township.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
You're up first with Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 9 (08:10):
Hey, Mike and Charlie again, since again, you guys just
do such a tremendous job week after week. I think
that both of you deserve a game ball because you
have such great insights and everybody at Feelers Nation, I'm
sure we benefit so much. So thank you for all
you guys do.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Thank you for saying that what's on your mind?

Speaker 9 (08:29):
Well, I I one comment and then then a question.
The comment is made after Arthur Molett, the uh that
kind of that has been back of the roster NFL
refugee shoots his mouth off about how the Ravens know
exactly how we play Lamar Jackson, the guy is even
healthy enough to play, and Uh, it just doesn't matter

(08:51):
what they know, it matters what we do. And I'm
just so excited for Patrick Queen just as a cast
off from the Ravens who clearly he's playing better this
here the ro Kawan Smith. But all the offseason noise
was the only thing that may Patrick cleed anything was
playing beside ro Kawan Smith. So so excited for for
our guys, and uh and glad to kind of stick

(09:13):
it to uh to the Ravens a bit. I want
to ask you guys, what what were you most shocked by?
Were you most shocked by.

Speaker 10 (09:24):
It?

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I don't even need your example Steelers failures in the
red zone.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
I thought they were over that with Russell Wilson. I
thought they were gonna score first thirty something points in
this game.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Charlie, you gotta absolutely agree.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
And that's something that you just can't, especially when you're
playing in the caliber of this game. You go through
the first half, you're kind of you know, you're in
control of it, but then they go down as they score,
then you're down. And that's that's how it felt throughout
the entire game, and ultimately you had to put something
into the end zone, and when that didn't happen and
you had to rely on the field goals that allows
Baltimore to stay in that game and ultimately score a

(09:57):
touchdown with a chance to tye with the two What
the with the two point play? Obviously they didn't convert.
We end up walking away from it. But they have
to get better in the red zone. There's no question
about it.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Anything else.

Speaker 9 (10:09):
Let one yeah, one quick response. So so everybody's saying,
Lamar Jackson's on the threshold of his third MVP has
this incredible QBR, He's a sixty six and changed today. Well,
how'd you guys feel about the defense shutting down? Mister Jackson?

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Defense is unreal?

Speaker 3 (10:28):
And I got to tell you this, Larry, I know
the numbers, just like everybody knows the numbers, one and
three in four career starts against Pittsburgh, coming in it
today and his statistics a shadow of what they are
against everybody else. I mean, I've seen this guy play
a lot of football. He's one of the best players
I've ever seen, and when he plays the Pittsburgh Steelers, he.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Is average or worse.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
And Charlie, I don't know if guys actually let teams
get in their heads or not, or if that's just
media cliche, but I'm starting to think that the Steelers
are in Lamar Jackson's head.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I did not think he played well today.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
At all, absolutely not.

Speaker 5 (11:03):
And I think those are things that ultimately happen when
you start getting reminded about the record of a certain team.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Yeah, that's starting.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
That's going to play into it. As a game unfolds,
you're like, man, I gotta get this win to try
to get that monkey off of his back. But he
did finish with over two hundred and fifty total yards.
It just wasn't enough. Now, there were a couple of
players out there that the receivers letting down, and ultimately
when he missed too couple he missed too.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
But that conversion, my god, what was going on there?
That was just you gotta do better than that. With
the game on the line.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Absolutely, and those are things that ultimately unfold. But either way,
I think it was last year whenever Joey Porter intercepted
the pass on it to Lamar Jackson pass, I think
it was last year.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Yeah, yeah, it was. It wasn't a two point conversion,
but it was. Uh he picked him off from the.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
End, Yes, picked him off in the end zone to
close that game out.

Speaker 11 (11:46):
Lot.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
You know, these are how these games go and the
way that this particular game is unfolded.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
It was just one of those things.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
And I thought for the Steelers to take a drive
in that fourth quarter, bleed the clock and then minimize
the time, but you know, then ultimately making the stop
at the end of the game. Those are things that
matters and you have to figure out a way to
get it and it doesn't matter and they be able
to get out of actors you're stating with the victory.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Appreciate the call, Larry. We're going to move on to
Jeff in Ohio. You're up next on the postgame show.

Speaker 12 (12:14):
Good Afternion, gentlemen, good got check when there with that
on its finest, but had a couple of quiet points.
I thought the defense today we got to get the
cordin enter and.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
You have to cut down.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Why don't you try giving us a call back. We'll
try to cut you up to the front of the line.
Let's go to uh Tony in West Virginia.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
How's it going guys?

Speaker 13 (12:42):
Hey, uh the Parliament and set off here.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, that's a good idea.

Speaker 8 (12:49):
Yeah, we'll talk about.

Speaker 13 (12:53):
The Wilson when he made the touchdown back there for
oh not to touch down the interception, yes, okay, when
he's doing I was wondering, like when they're in the
red zone the Steelers, I was thinking they should have
bought the game was really kind of tough. And then

(13:15):
why didn't they just bring justin fields in so like
in the ends there he runs right in for the touchdowns.
I'm thinking they need to play him and get him
back into the game sometimes just to have him playing,
you know, because he's gonna get Rusty's just sitting out
the games.

Speaker 14 (13:31):
All the time.

Speaker 13 (13:32):
And then situations like that in the red zone, I
think he's better, you know, from making a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Well, they did get to him, it was later, and
I thought they would.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
I thought they'd go to one that fourth down in
the first half when they tried the Najie Harris run
with the extra offensive lineman and they pulled Mason McCormick,
and they had shifted Broader Jones to the left side
before the snap, and they had a massive humanity and
they still couldn't make a yard. But Mike Tomlin after
the game on Justin Fields, it was timely. We haven't

(14:04):
been bashful about our intentions. He's a capable dude, and
we're gonna utilize him. Put them in on that last
series the way they did. Now, he made a critical
metal mistake sliding too early, but that shows you the
impact he could have. And I think you're gonna see
more of Justin Fields moving forward.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
Oh when you get those packages there, and those are
the things that when you know situational football, like Mike
Tomlin likes to talk about, anytime that you bring him
on the field, everybody knew it was going to be
a run.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
You just have to stop it.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
But the speed of Justin Fields allowed him to get
around the left side. And again to your point, yet
that was a mistake. He knew sliding before the first down,
But that's one you just learned from and say, hey,
make sure you had to dive head first, and I
think that's gonna be a good teaching lesson to not
only just the quarterbacks, but the whole offense and entirety
to make sure that, hey, when those critical situations, hey

(14:50):
make sure you go feet head first versus feet first.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Tony, we're up against the break.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
But I wouldn't just add that Russell Wilson's usually pretty
good in the red zone.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
I don't think it has to be a red zone thing.

Speaker 6 (15:01):
Now.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
They were zero for four today and they were all
kind of reasons why. But you will see justin Fields participating.
We said at the start of the year he wasn't
just gonna be a normal backup quarterback, and I think.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
The Steelers confirmed that today.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Thanks to Doing It Right Roofing, Siding and Remodeling Home
of the Lifetime Workmanship Warranty Roofing contractor Pittsburgh dot Com
for bringing us this hour the Pittsburgh Steelers Audio Network
Postgame Show. The show continues right here on the Steelers
Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
The Pittsburgh Steelers Postgame Show, which presented by Doing It
Right Roofing, Siding and Remodeling, Home of the Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Walcome Back but pursuing, Charlie, bash with you, Summon up
Steelers eighteen raven sixteen. We are at Jason Aldean's kitchen
and bar here on the North Shore, and it's New
Year's Eve down here again, Charlie. The people are out,
the citizens are celebrating.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
They really are, and it almost I mean, obviously you
knows important game. It has that playoff feel to it.
I mean, people are excited about it. And of course
we haven't seen a one o'clock what it looks like
after a one o'clock game in a while. But it's
just really good to see everybody smiling, happy, cheering.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
It's a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 6 (16:12):
Oh tay.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
You what else we've seen lately?

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Two straight games against what I believe are teams that
are going to be in the playoffs, and they want
them both and they found different ways to win them both.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Absolutely good boxes to check and everybody's you know, look,
you know there was still question marks of course that
you know you should have it this time, you see,
at this time of the year, but ultimately being able
to win those.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
Games that matter. Tough Washington team.

Speaker 5 (16:34):
Last week, you come right back here with Baltimore out
a game where it had to be really a must
win game because you essentially now set yourself two games
apart with the Ravens there, and now it is very
critical because now it's a key division win, something that
they needed.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Back to the phones, we go, Jim in Napa, Florida.
You're up next. Welcome to the.

Speaker 15 (16:51):
Show, Jim, Yeah, thank you, hey, guys. One a great win,
another one for Steeler Nation. He's tough, just grinding, growy.
I'll toulp him at the end game. We love to see, uh,
and he seemed.

Speaker 16 (17:08):
To always come out on top of those games. A
few observations and questions Pastor Queen, for one, he's been
playing a little bit better. Uh, but not with all
the height that he's been given. And he looks like
he has the body of a college freshman. I don't know,
it just looks like he's smaller. He's naughty, he's not work.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
One smets Jim taking a look.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
You're way off on that. Oh yeah, you're way off
on that.

Speaker 6 (17:33):
Brother.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
I've seen him in the locker room.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
Oh no, television.

Speaker 16 (17:40):
Oh, I don't push. He's whipped, but compared to these
other battors, he he looks he looks lean. He looks lean,
but but he's still he's doing better too. But and
also that Justin Field's uh coming in that's like a
Taysom Hill in New Orleans. Man, It's just something kicks
in when he comes in the game. There's something to that,

(18:01):
and they really hopefully they do pursue that, you know.
But but the thing is these Ravens and still his
Raven games, there's there's like a mystical fog that hovers
over these games like no other in the league. And
things happen, you know, m v P. Lamar Jackson overthrowing
all kinds of people, you know, barely doing anything, looked

(18:25):
out of sources. Everybody just there's an intense or not
an intense pressure, but there's a pressure. And Dustin Pucker kicks,
misses two Billbols easily, makable sielbows, Uh, Derrick Henry that
over two thousand touches, Gwells bumbles and he fumbles in
his first Steeler game. Charlie, you've been through a few

(18:48):
of these. Is there something truly something different? I mean,
obviously it's a division game, but is there can you
describe the feeling of what changes about these particular games
that any stories you might have that it's just it
seems to change people. Russell Wilson, So it's an intercept

(19:10):
to no touchdowns. I mean, these are great players and
it's sometimes it's weird things happened.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Well, yeah, I think when you ultimately look at these games,
both both of the rosters are very very similar, and
you know you have to build through the through the draft,
and ultimately you're paying attention to what your division foes
are doing only because you know the easiest way to
get to the playoffs is winning your division. So that's
why there's so much that's way to this particular game

(19:38):
because you when you look at them at the beginning
of sees, you're like, Okay, we're probably going to have
to beat the Ravens to win the division, and that's
ultimately how this is going to unfold. So I think
this is something that you know, I wouldn't necessarily wait
too much. You got to figure out a way to
get out of the game with the victory, which they did.
But to your point that Patrick Queen, this guy was
all over the place here today. You know he started
out slow, but ultimately we people wanted to see those

(20:01):
impactful plays, which ultimately didn't happen right away, but he's
starting to pick that up. And a lot of that
has to do with the guy that you're playing next
to and getting a feel for who you're doing that with.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
And that took time with him and the Land and Roberts.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
That right there, I feel is really round and third
base you started to sell it here today. Ten tackles, force, fumble,
fumble recovery. So those impactful plays were starting to see
that now, and what better way for him to get
going against his former team with the Ravens.

Speaker 16 (20:30):
Yeah, it's he's picking up big time, but he's still
he's not whenever he chased those guys, I mean, he's
like throwing them. He has to twist them down. He's
not plowing in them and throw and taking them back.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
But Jim, I would I would just add that we've
got a lot of these calls about you know, Patrick Queen,
Mika Fitzpatrick, TJ. Watt when he doesn't show up statistically. Uh,
coming into today, the Steelers were number two in the
NFL of scoring defense, and for them to be that
at this juncture of the season, it's working now, I

(21:05):
might be different people at different times, and obviously they're
going to attack a Peyton Wilson more often than they're
going to attack a micka Fitzpatrick. And that's why guys
such as Wilson and Beanie Bishop have to make plays
where they get challengd and then when they make them,
they'll try somebody else. But this defense is working fine,
this Baltimore offense. Studying these guys before this game, Charlie,

(21:25):
this is as good as I've seen it done right,
and they held these guys to sixteen points today. I
got no complaint on anybody for anything on defense today.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
I don't it.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
And when you're you just mentioned the two names there,
the young rookies that you have. But ultimately, when you
look at just what sade are you gonna run on today?
Guess what they're gonna try to run? Nick Herbert sade
because you know what TJ is capable of doing. But
on Nick Herby's first impactful play, he ran to play
down and caused the fumble. But from Dereck Henry added
a special team's play, so he essentially had three big
plays in the first ten plays of the ball game.

(21:56):
So those are things that you have to pay attention
to and when you need them this up. They were
able to do so and deliver in a manner at
THEDA today thanks to.

The Pittsburgh Steelers Postgame Show, which presented by Doing It

Speaker 17 (22:25):
Snap, Lamar moving out to the left, Lamar being strung out,
and Lamar flings it backhand incomplete and the Steelers defense
has come up with a stop.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Today's Electrified play.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
The game is powered by the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers Local Union Number five id E W letting up
Pittsburgh since eighteen ninety seven. Welcome back to the Steelers
Audio Network Postgame Show. Welcome back to Jason Aldean's kitchen
and bar. Mike Pursuda and Charlie Batch with you. In
the wake of Steelers eighteen Ravens sixteen, It might have

(22:58):
been Steelers eighteen Ravens eighteen if left for that electrified
play of the game, and Charlie, Uh, I thought the
Ravens were gonna keep the ball, Lamar Jackson, it's on
that two point conversion. But I thought they'd come up
with something better than what they did.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
Yeah, anytime you show a formation, and of course Tomlin,
you know, called a timely time out there just to
kind of see what they're gonna line up, and and
you're able to make that stop. And all Baltimore could
do is flip the formation and run it to the
left versus the right. I would have stayed to the
right if you were going to be committed to the
running game and say hey, you have to stop us.
And unfortunately they went left, which was a little bit
more of a weakness, and they were able to make

(23:32):
that stop.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Back to the phones, we go, Parks in Conway.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
You're up next, Jimmy, we got your parts, how are you?

Speaker 14 (23:45):
And then the best of the Bass Foundation keep that going, Charlie,
that's unreal.

Speaker 6 (23:50):
Thank you.

Speaker 18 (23:51):
I would to have your opinions on a few things,
and then I have just one more thing to say
after that.

Speaker 19 (23:57):
Kennedy's were killing us spot as well.

Speaker 18 (24:00):
Obviously he's been saving us in these Ravens games here
after year.

Speaker 14 (24:04):
There's no if hands or bot.

Speaker 18 (24:07):
I'm curious, do you think we should be passing the
ball more? Only because I get raven Steelers get and
I understand is uh, you know, head to head, neat fight.
But they have the worst pass defense in the league.

Speaker 14 (24:22):
And did you think we exposed that enough?

Speaker 13 (24:25):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (24:26):
I didn't think they did parks. But here's the problem.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
To me, it wasn't the number of times they threw,
it was the execution.

Speaker 20 (24:33):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Baltimore does have a really good pass rush. You saw
that Russell Wilson had some problems today in the pocket.
I think they ran the run past.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
The ratio was what it should have been and what
it needed to be.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
But when you throw two fades to George Pickens against
today Vieus White, you got to hit one of them.
When you have Calvin Austin one on one down the
left sideline, he's got to catch the ball. Yeah, there
were there were plays that were not made, even that
desperation throw on what became the interception. I don't think
it's a bad idea to throw it to Mount Washington
when you're in trouble if you're Russell Wilson, but either

(25:09):
he overthrew it badly or Washington got caught flat footed
and wasn't able to elevate. I just think if they
hit two or three more plays, it would have been
a completely different game.

Speaker 5 (25:18):
It could have been, And I think ultimately everybody gonna
remember the interception. And I'm sure we're here the SoundBite
from Russell coming out of the locker room. Yes, he's
excited to get the win, but when you turn the
ball over and take points off the board, that is
critical right there, and that's something that he cannot do
in that particular manner here.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
I'm sure he'll express it.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
But those are things that ultimately, when you see you're
trying to throw a jump ball up to Darnell, it
was a little tough because he's rolling to the right.
You're trying to figure out the trajectory that are just
a little bit of overthrow throw.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
And it took those points off the board.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
So it's again to your point, Mike, if they make
a couple of those plays, maybe we're sitting here with
a different type of conversation.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Austin catches up ball early, he's.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Gone correct and that's the point.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Tune the pickings in the end zone. You gotta figure
you're gonna hit one of.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
Them, right, And that's and that's the point you make
those plays when that the game is not as close
because you're able to now separate yourself by putting touchdowns
on a board versus field goals.

Speaker 14 (26:10):
What else you got, Parks, Well, that was a great game,
but I want to just hear your opinions on what
we need to do moving forward, getting Rests more involved
in getting him the balls and getting the balls out
because he is very capable of doing so. I also

(26:31):
want to give a shout out to my cousin he and.

Speaker 19 (26:32):
Net Shield that has one year old's birthday party.

Speaker 7 (26:36):
I love him to death.

Speaker 14 (26:37):
I want to hear your cake guys.

Speaker 18 (26:38):
I appreciate you guys very much.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Thanks for the call.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
I think uh we had a previous caller mentioned the
Steelers Ravens games. There's just something about him. Uh, I
would I would not read a whole lot into this
other than what happened today. I think you'll see a
different Steelers team playing in Cleveland.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
Yeah, I agree with that, and I think for me,
it's just the fact that it's one thing to create turnovers.
They were plus two and turnovers today, but when you
are plus two, you have to convert those In the touchdown,
they were only able to get six points out of
those three turnovers that they had, and if they were
able to convert, yeah, it changes the ballgame. But those
are things that just can't happen. And you hope at

(27:15):
some point they're going to fix this red zone because
you can't afford to keep going in and out of games.
They're not in and out of game, but in this
particular ball game, coming out of it, oh for four.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Also the missed fourth down, that's not an official turnover,
but that's that's a turnover.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
It's a turnover.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
And man, they're not good on third and fourth and short.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
They're not as good as let me put it this way,
they're not as good as they need to be, or
they should be.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
You have to be especially at home crowd, the cadence.
You understand, the crowd noise is not a factor. You
should be able to get off on the cadence. And
when you come up short on two downs in the
manner that they did, and you're not able to move
that line of scrimmage. That's something that needs to be
talked about.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
It's got to hut Ohio next, Hut, you're up with
Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 19 (27:53):
Hey, I guys, do want to say this doing well?

Speaker 2 (27:56):
What have you got on your mind tonight?

Speaker 10 (27:57):
Hut Hey, I have.

Speaker 21 (27:59):
A couple of things on a discusion, gentlemen. I love
the way tom and still building up Roger Jones. I
think he look pretty bad again today. I mean, I
don't know who's going to follow in behind Mike or
you'll fill me in, but he had he had another
rough game and I'm worried about that. And I also
want to talk about Patrick Queen my lord. He picked

(28:22):
a great time to light up when he had the
holding call. I was like, oh, yes, By he come.

Speaker 10 (28:29):
Right back and just started tearing them up.

Speaker 19 (28:31):
I love this. Talk to me.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Uh, I'm with you on Brodert Jones.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
If you heard Mike Tomlin after the game he mentioned
on the job training and he said, uh, let me.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Go, I wrote this down. I'll give it to you
so I get it right. Uh. He's going to continue
to get better. He and I will not blink.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
And I agree with you that his play has been
problematic this year, but they're not ready to give up
on him, nor do I think they should be.

Speaker 5 (29:02):
No, neither do I agree with you on that, And
I think that's something that when you hear Mike Tolland
talk about that Roderick, he's not giving up hope at
all because he know what he's capable of doing. Yes,
there are going to be penalties called, he's trying to
set the tone. He did have a personal foul penalty
along with the ravens that there, which was.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Just getting those too frequently. That's something he can't control.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
And that's something that you know, you're able to talk
about to say, hey, you got to get better at
this because those are ultimately causing us yardage. But for me,
I'm not overly concerned in the manner that maybe some
people are. It's just a matter of now getting back
into that lab and saying, Okay, how are you able
to correct that? Because you also got to understand, this
is only a second year in this league. He should
be playing as a veteran. We get that, but there

(29:43):
are gonna be mistakes that are made, and that happens
with typically a young player, especially at his stage and development.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Hut we got to run to a break.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
But thanks for the phone call and thanks to doing
it Right Roofing, Siding and Remodeling Home of the Lifetime

Speaker 17 (30:17):
Jackson gets a snap will throw underneath this is a
tight end screen to likely.

Speaker 6 (30:21):
And likely not.

Speaker 17 (30:22):
The ball's out flying up in the air and it's
gonna be recovered by Patrick Queen, and Queen is gonna
be taken down at the twenty one yard line. What
a turn of events for the Steelers to come up
with a second force fumble.

Speaker 22 (30:36):
I know you dream about plays, man, some games they
don't happen. And then today it just everybody something. You're
gonna get one. I don't know what it's gonna be.
It's gonna get one. And this is my dad birthday too,
So he was like, you gotta give me one. Oh,
and it's just crazy how things work out though, just
knowing I had to come out here just to sport
my team and play as hard as I can for
them and just do my job.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Well, what a week for Patrick Queen putting it all
out there on Wednesday, Hey, they didn't offer me a contract.
That really bothered me. Took months to get over it.
Then he goes out and helps.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
These Steelers achieve victory over his former team.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
And when you look at just the conversations that were
at least the chatter in the offseason, a lot of
his Ray former Ravens teammates were talking about, hey, the
grass is and always greener on the other side, So
you know there were going to be a lot of
smack talking here today.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
And when you talk.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
About stepping up in a big way, I thought Patrick
Queen played one heck of a game. If it wasn't
for Boswell kicking those field goals, Patrick Queen, he's your
player of the week. So unfortunately he's going to be
a toss up between I. When you say toss up,
they're going to get it to bos where Boswell and
maybe he gets the defensive player of the week let's.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Go back to the phones now, Jeff and Ohio. Trying
it again. Jeff, how are you tonight?

Speaker 6 (31:44):
Pretty good?

Speaker 10 (31:44):
I hope you guys can hear me.

Speaker 22 (31:46):
Now.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Have you got me much better? Much better?

Speaker 6 (31:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (31:48):
Sorry about that. A couple of points, and I had
a question for you. I thought the defense was awesome.
I mean a lot of times people call and complain
about the coaching and things of that nature, and one
of the things that you look at today, I thought, schematically,
we did a great job of preparing. I mean, that's
an explosive offense that I thought we kept the lid
on it. I mean, and the point that I thought

(32:11):
was imperative was the relentless pursuit of football. Peyton Wilson
on the interception, just relentless, Patrick Queen, you guys just
hit eternally, just made the point was relentless all day.
There's plays where they got ten fifteen yards, but they
didn't come to become fifty yarders because our guys just
the pursuit of the ball was so good today. So
I thought that was a big positive. You guys hit

(32:33):
on the one earlier about the red zone hills. I mean,
I thought that was a negative, I thought on the
interception and Russ had a really tough day in the
red zone, and that's kind of why we brought him
in there. It was for the red zone, but I
thought not Washington could could have put a little better effort,
you know, to defend the ball at the end. And
then my question for you guys is, you know, with

(32:53):
the red zone Hills, you got to get a package
in for Mike Williams at some point. I know he's
only been there two weeks and I know it's, you know,
really difficult to do in short notice, but a target
like that, you think he's got to be more of
a threat in the red zone.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Out of the red zone too.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
I mean, I was surprised the amount of snaps for
Ben Skarnick and Van Jefferson. I don't have the total
numbers in front of me, but uh, Skronic and Jefferson
played way more than I thought they would, and Williams
played way less frequently than I.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Thought he would.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Yeah, I was, I was.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
I was a little confused on the personnel packages only
because this was the first time that you saw those
substitution patterns coming in and out, and I was wondering
where Mike Williams was throughout the course of the game.
But whatever reason, Arthur Smith saw something, he was going
to use those formations to his advantage. And that's why
we saw it here today.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Anything else.

Speaker 6 (33:46):
Jeff, Yeah, real quick.

Speaker 18 (33:48):
And it's a distant not to be mad because obviously
the team it was a great win, and I mean
that was a great gut check win. But I look
at Thursday night, and guys, my point is, if you
lose Thursday, does that kind of negate all the positive
steps that we took in terms of the division and
moving forward as a team. If you gotta well, can

(34:09):
I look at it?

Speaker 9 (34:09):
We got to go on Thursday?

Speaker 18 (34:10):
You gotta get a doubt, Like I just think that's
a game you don't.

Speaker 6 (34:12):
Want to let slip away.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Oh, no question. I think is Cleveland teams really having issues?
But negate everything now.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
I mean, you got eight wins in the bank right now,
and you got a head dad with Baltimore in the
bank right now. So if it comes down to a
tie breaker with the Ravens, maybe that comes into play.
But uh yeah, certainly got to turn the page quickly.
And uh, Charlie, I haven't seen a lot out of Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
That that gets me nervous.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
Although the AFC North factor, I mean, all these teams
play seemingly their best game against each other.

Speaker 5 (34:42):
Yeah, and when you put them you put plays on
the on Fielm like you did today, They're gonna look
at that and say, hey, maybe we could take advantage
of some of those uh, unfortunate things.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
That happen for the Steelers here today.

Speaker 5 (34:52):
But again, I just feel you have to get that
win on Thursday just to complete this three game set
because you're playing three games essentially in the left days.
Now you have to get your rest on the back
end of it. Right, you played a Thursday night game,
you'll get three days rest as you now prepare for
the Bengals at the beginning of December. So this is
an important game because it's the the division game. If

(35:12):
you want to really create some separation in a division,
you have to win this game on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
Appreciate the call, Jeff, we're up against another break. Also
appreciate and thank doing it right. Roofing, siding and remodeling

Gets a snap back to pass looking lofting for Hill
downfield and makes the grab trail coverage for Peyton Wilson,
who says he's come up with a football. Now Mika
Fitzpatrick has it.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
The officials are gonna blow.

Speaker 17 (35:56):
This dead, and let's see what they're saying here steelerstick
they have the ball. Wilson says, I picked it off.

Speaker 6 (36:02):
Yeah, hello, and he did.

Speaker 22 (36:04):
That's why I said. I was like, he just don't know.
That's all pro play like plays like that, that's not normal.
Like the focus to be able to know justice run
with him stuff for stuff and make a play like that,
That's that's all pro stuff. That's pro Bowl plays. That's
that's extremely huge and especially for a rookie to make
a play like that is insane.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Insane.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Indeed, Peyton Wilson's showing up Mike Tom talking about how
they envisioned that matchup all week and had Peyton Wilson
ready for it. A passing game linebacker against a passing
game running back in one of the big plays in
that Steelers eighteen to sixteen victory over the Ravens. Today,
back to the telephones, we go, Joe in Trafford. You're

(36:44):
up next with Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 8 (36:47):
Hey, Mike and Kelly, how you guys doing good?

Speaker 4 (36:51):
How much self sinn?

Speaker 20 (36:53):
I was just wondering, how come we and see like
a dozen touchdowns today?

Speaker 4 (36:59):
Hey, I'm with you. I thought that was going to happen.
I was over all day.

Speaker 6 (37:06):
How many? How many touchdowns to good thrower?

Speaker 11 (37:09):
As?

Speaker 6 (37:09):
Really when you play?

Speaker 4 (37:12):
I guess enough to win the game?

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Imagine, got some specific on your mind, Joe.

Speaker 8 (37:21):
I was just wondering that, like, how many games we're
gonna win to make the post to see them?

Speaker 3 (37:29):
I would think ten probably gets you. In eleven you're safe,
and twelve you're gonna.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Win the division.

Speaker 5 (37:37):
I think twelve or thirteen is going to get you
the number one seed. That's what I think, And ultimately
that game on Christmas is going to be a huge
game as a relation to number one seed. Obviously you're
assuming that you handle your business leading up until that point.
But the schedule is shaping out to the point that
you can potentially have home field throughout the entire playoffs.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Cheops, by the way, I just want.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
To hit a buffalo of fourteen thirteen in late second quarter,
Bob in traffic, you're up next with Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 19 (38:05):
How are you doing, guys, I'm watching this game and
previous color touched on a little bit. I have two things.
One on the first point, the other one's clock manager.
But the first one is Mike Williams. If you have
two legitimate receivers, and that's how we had the big
play with in Washington was they have defenses have to
make a decision. Your running game becomes better, your tight

(38:27):
ends become available, or you got shots with either one
of them if you have them on the field. I
am tired of watching them throw it to Calvin Austin
as a receiver and dropping the ball and in the
red zone you can't even find him because he's too
small with all the moving parts. If you go out
and get a guy it's six ' five, put him
on the field. Period. He's by far their first or
second best receiver. Well, what are they going to do?

(38:49):
And I don't care that it's just his second game
over here. You know, red zone, throw it up, you
know weapons, you know he runs the deep ball. You
can keep his role simple, but he's on the field
and they have to respect it. Number two, clock management.
You know I'm watching it. I'm at the end at
the end zone where Henry scored near the end of
the half two minutes and forty five seconds. And you know,

(39:12):
you know, you got a better chance of hell f
reason over than stopping Henry. And he just watched that
clock dissipate and dissipate and dissipate. You use those timeouts
and you give yourself more time. I just get so
frustrated with clock management. And for the love of Jesus,
can we stop Calvin Auston on the field and put
Mike Williams in the game.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
I'd like to see more Mike Williams, But I think
Calvin Austin is an emerging weapon, right. I think Russell
Wilson thinks that by the number of times he's targeted
him since he started playing. Uh the clock management thing.
I was thinking the same thing, except when the Ravens
ended up fumbling, then they had timeouts in their pocket
to run the place they wanted to run at the

(39:52):
end of the half. Although if Mike tubinsaw all of
that coming, uh, he's more clairvoyant than I am that
clock management.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Stuff, though.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
I'll tell you it's different when you're down on the
sideline and you're in the chaos and you know you're
kind of in the frying pan down there.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
It seems like it is easier watching it from up here.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
Yeah, Oh, absolutely it is.

Speaker 5 (40:13):
And I think when you go on through these type
of things, each game is different. You know, the personnel
groups that you're putting in. Even if you look back
and you talk about the tight end play, we've seen
Darnelle Washington be more impactful than what Pat Fryer move
was today with his catches over the middle? Is that
that throwing shade at Pat fire moove at all? We
know we're gonna need him moving forward. But when you
see that, that lets you know they saw something on

(40:36):
film that maybe you show a run package and then
get the right personnel group that you want defensively and
you're able to take advantage of it.

Speaker 4 (40:43):
And that's exactly what Darnell Washington was able to do.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
So I think that's going to be week the week,
but ultimately, you know these questions are going to continue
to be a part of it beginning when you have
that type of weapon on this roster that allows you
to now you be able to take full advantage of
everyone on your roster.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
Appreciate the cal And by the way, Mike Williams not
targeted today.

Speaker 4 (41:03):
I didn't see him out there much at all.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
I mean I would be.

Speaker 5 (41:05):
I want to see what the plate with the snap
count is for him, but I didn't see him a lot.
I've been for sure was on the field a lot
more than Mike Williams today.

Speaker 23 (42:28):
Hi, guys, I wanted to say after last week's game, Joey,
poor Junior had such a terrible game last week. Are
you really bounced back today? And I'm especially that two
point conversion stop, I mean that was it was, you know,
glad that he had such a great game and bounce back.

Speaker 20 (42:44):
From last week.

Speaker 5 (42:46):
No, I agree with you wholeheartedly, and I think that
was and I was going to bring up that play
because you know, even though you come up with the stop,
but Mike Townin always challenges his corners. You have to
come up and make a stop, and Joey was able
to deliver in that particular manner. And of course everybody's
seller brading with him, but that was a huge stop
by him.

Speaker 4 (43:02):
So I one agree with.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
You anything else, Lender. You always make such good points when.

Speaker 23 (43:09):
You call it.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
I know she has something else that she has. You
always have two or three in there.

Speaker 23 (43:14):
Well, I just want to say I was happy to see, uh,
a traditional Steelers Ravens game. The chippiness and the and
the stuff.

Speaker 20 (43:21):
It was a fun game to watch, especially since we won.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
Yeah, it was thanks for the call, Linda. Was a
traditional Steelers Ravens game. I still am surprised.

Speaker 6 (43:32):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
You know, Russell Wilson Steelers have been a thirty point
game outfit. And again this this Baltimore team, it is
bordering on ridiculous some of the things they've done up
until playing Pittsburgh.

Speaker 5 (43:45):
Right, and you get back and it goes back to
that point because it was a lot of years that
it was a three point ball game, and it's starting
to kind of trend back that direction, and the referees
they at one point they were allowing them to play,
and then he said, we have to get this under control.
They still do that double personal foul penalty and that
that was their way of letting them know, Hey, we
got to get this game under control because it's right

(44:05):
now the chippiness is getting out of hand.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
Yeah, I think what four guys were one more flag
away from getting an early shower.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
David Florida, You're up next with Mike and Charlie. How
are you, Dave?

Speaker 24 (44:16):
Good? Guys, how are you tonight?

Speaker 4 (44:18):
Doing well? No complaints?

Speaker 24 (44:20):
So place first place?

Speaker 6 (44:22):
Baby good?

Speaker 24 (44:24):
Feels good. I tell you the game was a little
frustrating to put a such a great performance out there
defensively and then such a mediocre performance offensively. A stadium
perspective point of view of things, was Russell Wilson struggling
because the receivers were covered, or or just the pass

(44:48):
rush getting to them, or what'd you guys see out
there that I didn't see on TV?

Speaker 3 (44:52):
Two things that stood out to me, David, you probably
saw this on TV. The Ravens pass rush was owning
the game in the first half. Yes, and that Baltimore's
thirty second in past defense, but it's not because of
the rush they can bring it. And the second thing,
I just think some plays were not made to throw
down the field of Calvin Austin. It was a little

(45:13):
behind them, but you got to.

Speaker 4 (45:15):
Make that catch, still had hands.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
And then I'll still say that when you got George
Pickens against what's left of Tredavius White, one on one
fades into the end zone, you throw two of those
Pickens is gonna come.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
Down with at least one of them. But he didn't
come down with out.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
The one today didn't come down with it.

Speaker 5 (45:32):
And for whatever reason, you know, I didn't study the
four game manner, and that explained why they were at
the bottom of the league in pass defense. But for
whatever reason, they weren't able to take advantage of some
of those things. Now, the penalties occurring, Hey, sometimes that happens.
You tell you know you're holding penalty false stars, doors,
things that literally illegal formations, different things of that nature

(45:53):
that did not get them continuously in the rhythm and
if you know it hurt them in that particular manner.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
So I think these are things.

Speaker 5 (45:58):
That you know, you this is a learning game only
because you know how tough this game is and you're
going to see this team again.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
That That's what I personally believed.

Speaker 3 (46:07):
Maybe twice Dave I did. There was one play that
I saw. I made a note of it where Wilson
turned down a shot to Pickings down the scene. But
it's not like I saw a bunch of wide open
guys that he just wasn't throwing to.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
I think he just didn't have enough time for a lot.

Speaker 24 (46:22):
Of the time, right, and then it's right kind of baffling.
And then we didn't see Mike Williams out there. I
didn't see him until the fourth quarter. I don't know
if you guys saw him earlier than that.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
He was out there earlier, but he wasn't out a ton.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
I also thought they got to the screen game and
some of the things they should have gotten to earlier
in the second half, and that helped them.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
You know, get the ball of the running backs.

Speaker 3 (46:41):
It's a quick throw, it's a safe throw, and those
guys were both good in space. But I think they
were trying to attack early in the game. They just
couldn't do it or didn't finish it.

Speaker 4 (46:51):
They weren't able to agree with you on that. You
were going to say something else.

Speaker 24 (46:55):
Yeah, last one, last point when we went for a
third and one and they did the core to back
sneak and Russell got stuffed, and then we went for
an ur to one and we got stuffed, and I
was like, this is where they should use justin field.
And then later in the game where they do. They
come out with it and you know it worked. Now
I want to answer you a question. It's it's where

(47:16):
he gives himself up, not where he's touched right.

Speaker 5 (47:19):
Correct that the moment that he starts his lad, that's
where the ball is marked. And that's why I was
about two or three yards two yards short of the
first down marker, even though he slid past the first
down and that was a ship like, oh no.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
He could have made. But I think you saw, and
I'm with you, Dave. I wish they had gone justin
fields on that fourth down, but I.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
Think you saw.

Speaker 3 (47:41):
Sometimes that first step is the hardest one to take,
no matter what they've been saying all along about how
they wanted to use them. When they put him in
into the last drive, when you're trying to get a
first down to kill the clock, and and not give
the ball back and maybe I have to tuck rate
a long field goal.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
If they put him in there, they're going to keep using.

Speaker 5 (47:58):
Them from I'm like I said, this game is gonna
go our way. When Justin Tucker missed the two field goals,
when he missed it, Willie did he miss three?

Speaker 4 (48:06):
Two?

Speaker 2 (48:06):
He missed two.

Speaker 5 (48:07):
So when he missed those two field goals, I'm senter saying, wow,
maybe this is our day today because he never misses that.
Of course, when you have the best kicker in there,
and I think ultimately when you look at what happened
here today, especially from a special name perspective, when you're
looking at one person, one kicker who's going to make
off pro that's Chris Boswell here today, and it was
great to see him be on and continue to do

(48:27):
the things that he's been able to do. Man, Hats
off to Chris Boswell. And of course, you know when
you look at the snapper holder and everybody else that's
a part of that group, man, it's awesome to watch
that group because you know, you just automatic three points
when Bosworth goes on that field.

Speaker 2 (48:39):
Thanks thanks for the phone call. We got to run
to a break and thanks to Kelly h.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
Take Pizza and Draft House for bringing us this hour
of the Pittsburgh Steelers Audio Network postgame Show. Kelly had
Take Pizza and Draft House the Pizza of Champions. The
show continues right here on the Steelers Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
The Pittsburgh Steelers Postgame Show, which presented by Caliente, Peach
and Drafthouse the Pizza. I'm champions.

Speaker 17 (49:03):
Snap is good, hold is good, the kick is up,
and that kick is through by Chris Boswell. Another field goals.
Second time this year. Boswell has kicked six field goals.

Speaker 25 (49:16):
In the game.

Speaker 26 (49:17):
I love boz Man. I'm tired of him getting Player
of the Week. He probably got Player of the Week
again this week. He's deserving of it. But it reminds
us of out Wartz. It reminds us of the work
that we need to we need to do. But man,
no doubt, I'm thankful that he's on our team.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
Welcome back to Jason Aldean's Kitchen and Bar on the
North Shore, and welcome back to the Steelers Audio Network
Post game Show. That was Mike tom I talking about
Chris Boswell. Another six field goals in today's eighteen to
sixteen win over the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (49:48):
They needed every one of them.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
Today's Keys to the Game brought to you by South
Hills Jeep, Pittsburgh's home for all things Jeep.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
Charlette. Guess obvious key was the Steelers. I had a
better kicker, and then we always do. Man.

Speaker 5 (50:04):
Boz has done a great job, man, and this I'm
glad he's on this roster.

Speaker 6 (50:07):
Man.

Speaker 4 (50:07):
He doesn't say much, but he just goes out and
get his job done.

Speaker 19 (50:10):
Man.

Speaker 5 (50:10):
And it's a beautiful thing because even when he went
out there were from fifty seven he said hey at
Rune Spear and before at one point it was like
hey fifty two yards or at at Hinesfield and now
Akosher Stadium.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
That was a tough kick to make. Now he's making
it look easy.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
Four one two, three, three, three nine three eight three
is our number.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Back to the telephones, Curtis and Elizabeth, you're up with
Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 20 (50:34):
Hey, what's up guys, first time?

Speaker 2 (50:35):
Color? How are you welcome to the show. We're doing well?

Speaker 9 (50:39):
Hey.

Speaker 20 (50:40):
First of all, the biggest played the game has to
be that Peyton Wolfson interception. But aside from that, them
two Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Tomlin has to get
him on in the field at the same time, or
I mean, it's it's just hard to see Justin Fields,

(51:02):
you know, sit on a bench able game with all
of that talent.

Speaker 13 (51:05):
What are your thoughts.

Speaker 2 (51:07):
I don't think you're.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
Gonna see him at the same time, but I think
they broke the seal, so to speak to me, the
perfect time to go to Justin Fields would have been
that fourth down in the first half, But you saw
it what two or three times in the second half,
and I think you're going to see more of it
on It's I think people it's been described as a
Justin Fields package.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
I think that's incorrect.

Speaker 3 (51:29):
It's putting him in to make a play when you
need a play made. That could be in the red zone,
that could be the middle of the field, that could
be at the end of the game in.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
Your own territory when you're trying to get a first down.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
It's just something to throw at the defense that they
are relatively unprepared for, and it stresses the defense. And
it also lets you take advantage of Justin Field's running,
which I think is by far his best attribute, not
that he's a poor passer, but he's a great runner.
He's a running back caliber runner. And ironically, Charlie, he
wasn't doing much of that when he was the quarterback.

Speaker 5 (52:02):
And when you look at where Justin is that and
of course you know a lot of that. Mike Tomins
said in this post game, Hey, we would have seen
this play earlier. He's been talking about the packages that
they could potentially have, but Justin.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
Was better on a hamstring injury.

Speaker 5 (52:15):
So now that he's back healthy, he's able to make
those plays in the particular manner that he did. And
if you can put that together now, defensive coordinators have
to respect that because everybody at the end of that
ball game you thought that Justin was running exact same
play that counter to the left. They were able to
hand the football all pick up the first down and
seal the game. Those are plays in the package that
you have to have to keep defenses off balanced.

Speaker 20 (52:37):
Got you don't think they can split him out in
like a shopping.

Speaker 5 (52:41):
Passage, No, you don't, because you know you lose You
lose yourself a pass blocker or at least a run blocker.
Because Russell Wilson, I promise you is not blocking anybody
that's just so when you have that, essentially.

Speaker 4 (52:52):
You're playing.

Speaker 5 (52:55):
Right, so you're not going to have it, so essentially
you're out there playing you know what, nine on eleven essentially.
So these are things that you know.

Speaker 4 (53:03):
That's why it's hard.

Speaker 5 (53:04):
You have to be creative and selective when you use
that particular package.

Speaker 16 (53:09):
Thanks guys, thanks for the call, Curtis.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
Let's move along to DC in Hartford. You're up with
Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 6 (53:17):
Hey, my guys, how you guys doing tonight? Doing well?

Speaker 2 (53:20):
How about yourself?

Speaker 6 (53:22):
I cannot complain, of course, after that game. I just
wanted to talk second about Russ not really complaining about
any of the throws he made. I was more concerned
about him not getting the ball out or maybe not
trusting what he saw on the sacks that he told me.
So it just seems like, you know, I don't have
all twenty to anything like that, but it seems like

(53:43):
when they showed the replay of him getting sacked, there
were guys that you know, he could have you know,
seemed like you could have made the throw to him,
but maybe just wasn't trusting what he saw. I don't know.
If this I don't know, you know it was he used,
is he not used to North football because it was
ramped up and is very intense. But you know, I
don't know. I was just asking child Charlie, what you

(54:05):
thought about that? Was it was? It was it moment
for him, you think in certain situations.

Speaker 5 (54:10):
Yeah, I don't think the moments were too big, right,
And a lot of times and of course all these
will come out when they all twenty two happens. But
there were a couple of times he was looking to
push the ball down the field. You had, you know,
defenders that were kind of playing in between baiting him, Hey,
I dare you throw this football down the field so
they can make a break on the ball. Ball, he didn't,
he didn't attempt to throw it. That's when he checked
it down, picking up an easy completion and trying to

(54:32):
keep it in staying ahead of the sticks. And then
the time there was one other time that he had
in it that I can remember. He was looking to
throw maybe a hitch route to the outside, but the
actual the running back got into the throwing lane and
that defender was actually playing two people.

Speaker 4 (54:46):
Based off his position.

Speaker 5 (54:48):
So they just have to do a better job of
spacing in the passing game, so he doesn't have to
hold on to the football in the manner that he
did today.

Speaker 6 (54:55):
Okay, I appreciate Dan, so thank you.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (54:58):
You see.

Speaker 3 (54:58):
Yeah, I just think I think DC makes a good point.
He did hold the ball a little too long many times,
and I think that betrayed their desire.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
To go downfield.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
They were trying to attack this thirty second rank pass defense,
but you got to hold that rush.

Speaker 2 (55:14):
Off first things first, right, and they didn't do that
well enough. I thought either checking it down quicker.

Speaker 3 (55:19):
I can't believe I just said that, but checking it
down quicker, or vacating the pocket play action boot a
little more of that get it, you know, move them
by design, right. I thought they got a little too
predictable of where he was going to be. He was
in the same spot too much, and the Ravens knew
where that spot was.

Speaker 5 (55:38):
Yeah, they were able to they were able to predetermine that.
And I think ultimately, when you're kind of trying to
push that football down the field, what you know, sometimes
when you you.

Speaker 4 (55:45):
Know you're not on the rhythm early in the game, he's.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Not really just say check it out.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
Hey, we saw him pushing the ball down the field
over the last few weeks and we got used to that.
But I think when you look at some of those plays,
if you know, if you're not off to uh, you know,
get into a rhythm early and you're not you know,
delivering the football on time, sometimes that plays a factor.
And maybe hey that internal clock, Hey I don't have
a knot of time. Maybe you do have time, but
you're checking it down too early.

Speaker 4 (56:10):
So that just happened.

Speaker 5 (56:11):
That's why you want to get off to a fast
start and at least try to keep the defense off balance,
and they weren't able to do that today.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
Thanks to Kelly it Ta Pizza in Draft House for
bringing us this out or the Pittsburgh Steelers Audio Network
Post game Show, Kelly it Tap Pizza and Draft House.
The Pizza of champions Show continues right here on the
Steelers Audio Network.

Speaker 1 (56:29):
The Pittsburgh Steelers Postgame Show, which presented by Caliente Pizza
and Drafthouse. The Pizza of Champions.

Speaker 17 (56:36):
Fields moves worn out to the right. He's gonna keep
on a lead to the left side. He's gonna pick
up yardage and slide down at the forty one yard line.

Speaker 27 (56:43):
We had a whole cool package for him. Obviously, you know,
Justin's you know, so talented man. He's such a great
teammate and just you know, whatever it takes for us
to win and get another first down was key.

Speaker 4 (56:52):
I think.

Speaker 27 (56:52):
Obviously he did a really good job on that zone
read and just reading it out, and you know, you know,
I think that the biggest thing is is that, you know,
we have a really good pack. You're such a great
athlete and can do so many things for us, so
you know we were ready for that too.

Speaker 3 (57:05):
That was Russell Wilson talking about Justin Fields after the
Steelers eighteen sixteen victory over the Ravens. Today, welcome back
to the postgame show on the Steelers Audio Network.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Welcome back to Jason Aldane's.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
Kitchen and bar here on the North Shore and Charlie.
A lot of people talking about Justin Fields, but uh,
it's worth repeating. If they did it as much as
they did it in the second half and when they
did it, they're gonna.

Speaker 4 (57:31):
Keep doing it. They will keep doing it.

Speaker 5 (57:33):
But you know, it's one thing, you know, I know
the team concept, but when you're the starting quarterback, you
don't want to be removed from the field. That's just
that's the frustrating part. So you know, you want to
make sure, you know, it doesn't disrupt the flow of
the game to allow him to get in the rhythm,
keep this offense going. I'm just not a huge fan
of putting this, you know, putting packages like this together,

(57:53):
because I would not want to be removed from the field.
But ultimately, hey, you got to make sure you're buy
buying in and as long as they're okay with it,
that's fine. My opinion is irrelevant it relates to how
I feel on that team because I'm not on that
team anymore.

Speaker 3 (58:05):
That's this mine because they don't ask me what they
should do when they should do.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
It, no matter how much I think, Charlie that.

Speaker 4 (58:10):
They should, I understand. I get it.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
Back to the phones. We go one in Charleston. Welcome
to the program.

Speaker 25 (58:20):
Hey, good Eden, guys, how y'all doing doing?

Speaker 6 (58:23):
Worry?

Speaker 2 (58:23):
How about yourself?

Speaker 25 (58:26):
And I can't complain and we run the esc No,
can't complain.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
What he got for us?

Speaker 25 (58:34):
All right? So, first of all, I gotta say defense
played pretty well to dit and also on that interception
by Wolsea, I only if you guys remember that player
reminded me a few years ago when I hate to
see this name, but Devin Bush when you need an
interception with the King Pile Andrews on the scene under
same college, never remind me of that place. So that

(58:56):
was a good play by Wolsea.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
You got a good memory.

Speaker 25 (59:02):
Oh yeah, man, like like like like like you guys know,
I'm a I believe black and go. Me and my
guys see our.

Speaker 6 (59:08):
Reben doing this thing. We're not new to this thing.

Speaker 25 (59:10):
May we rather die with this thing? And also with Balls, man,
I don't I always respect I always trust him Balls,
so he never let me down ever since we signed
that guy Balls, he's the best kick, especially after the
day he proved except with Tucker missing nose field goal.
So Balls is the best kick in the league right now.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
Pretty pretty remarkable that they would win two games this
year without scoring a TV.

Speaker 4 (59:35):
Unbelievable, right, but uh they will take it anything.

Speaker 25 (59:39):
Else, won Uh No, I let other people get a
shout out to my guys, Bush up and and see
our everybody short week.

Speaker 6 (59:46):
Hopefully can get.

Speaker 25 (59:47):
The Browns on Thursday and we have a comfortable league.

Speaker 3 (59:51):
Appreciate the call let's move it on to Eric in
San Diego.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
You're up next with Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 16 (59:58):
Hey, how y'all fellows do in this afternoon?

Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
So colder, I'm guessing here than it is in San Diego,
but doing pretty well well.

Speaker 8 (01:00:05):
We didn't. It was getting a little chilly in the
evening as the sun goes down. But I didn't get
a chance to really see see much of the game.
I only got to see, sir, I.

Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
Was gonna say, what's chili out there?

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Sixty five seventy one?

Speaker 8 (01:00:17):
Yeah, yeah, we used to the seventy eighty degree, so
anytime it gets below sixteen, we complaining.

Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
Appreciate you, which anyway I didn't.

Speaker 8 (01:00:27):
Anyway, I didn't get a chance to see but the
halftime of the game. Uh so the second half I
didn't get to see Justin Fields any of that. So
I'm getting my highlights from the radio station. But my
question is have you heard anything on the possible who
they're gonna sign Justin Fields or Russell Wilson next year?
And my other question is do you see Roderick Jones

(01:00:48):
moving back to left tackle after Moore is left next year?
Because I don't think they're gonna resign him and for
Tani comes at right tackle, They're gonna put fora Tani
at left tackle in Cheap Jones at right tackle.

Speaker 6 (01:01:02):
That's my pot.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Thank you the quarterback stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
The last time anybody said anything about it officially was
Andy Widel back in training camp when they did the
combined practice with Buffalo. He said, it'll play itself out
when you know, you know, I don't think they're there yet,
to be honest with you, a lot more information now
than there was in August, but uh, stay tuned on

(01:01:25):
that one.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
And the tackle.

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Situation is starting to intrigue me because everybody assumes Dan
Moore is not going to get resigned. But I'm starting
I'm starting to wonder if that is one thousand percent
etched in stone or not.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
Because he's playing pretty well.

Speaker 5 (01:01:40):
He is, He really playing well, And I think when
you look at what's going on from the tackle perspective,
is easy to float and it's amazing because you're floating
the two first rounders and that typically is the free
agent that is getting edged out. But he's playing well
and I think ultimately you know that part is going
to play itself out. Of course, you know next offseason.
I don't think that obviously plays a fact to here,
Todave Roger Jones is going to be your right to

(01:02:02):
tackle finishing it. But I think as a relation to
the quarterback situation that ultimately is going to play itself out.
The only thing that has revealed itself is that you
have two capable quarterbacks that can go out there and
lead your team to victory. And is a great problem
to have because you could have a great one to
two punch that this team believes in because both of
them has proved that they can actually win ball games
for this organization. And that's the beauty of the new

(01:02:24):
relationships when they enter into this organization.

Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
And to your point a little while ago, I don't
think that Russell Wilson's all that upset about coming out
a couple three plays again.

Speaker 5 (01:02:37):
And he's a team player, and that's that's that's what
he would. That's he's fine with that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
Now.

Speaker 5 (01:02:40):
You weren't hear you hear anything publicly when it comes
to that particular manner. But I promise you there are
side conversations that are going on and say, hey, at
what point do you plan on bringing him in? You know,
but you know you don't want it to disrupt his flow.
So you know they'll have the they'll continue to have
those conversations, but obviously they'll be for the betterment of
this team.

Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
Thanks to Kelly, I Take Pets and Drafts House for
bringing us to Cellar the Pittsburgh Steelers Audio Network post
game show, Kellie Pizza and Draft House The Pizza of Champions.
The show continues right here on the Steelers Audio.

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
Network, always presented by Caliente Pizza and Drafthouse The Pizza
of Champions.

Speaker 17 (01:03:17):
Wilson gets the snap back looking left now, stepping up
to the right now, circling back around, moving back under
pressure and it's just gonna throw it and tried to
find Washington, but it's picked off by Humphrey in the
back of the end zone. So instead of getting a
feel going going up by eight, perhaps the Steelers turned

(01:03:38):
the ball over on the red zone interception.

Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
Yeah, that's too Alley.

Speaker 27 (01:03:42):
I mean, the big big boy up there, you know,
unfortunately didn't work out for so that can happen, you know,
just trying to give him a chance, but unfortunately made
the play. But I have confidence in them again, you know,
we mean to, you know, but I think the biggest
thing is just we're able to respond. I think Peyton
Wilson's play right after that pick and lamar, I mean,
that was a heck of a play by him. So

(01:04:02):
you know, I told him in the locker room, shout
at NCY State. You know he made a great play there.

Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
Shout out to n C State, Russell Wilson at See State,
Peyton Wilson at CEE State.

Speaker 6 (01:04:15):
I love that stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
That's beautiful.

Speaker 5 (01:04:18):
Anytime you get a chance to plug your alma mater,
you have to do so absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
And I like hearing Russell Wilson say he'll try it again.
Wasn't the wrong thing to do. They just didn't do
it well correct.

Speaker 25 (01:04:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
It was probably fifty to fifty bad throw.

Speaker 3 (01:04:30):
And maybe Washington needs to be a little more aware
at the other end and at least get get up
and try to take a shot knocking it down or
catching it. But the Steels got away with it, and
they got past the Ravens. Eighteen sixteen, Tim in Virginia,
you're up next with Mike and Charlie.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
What's on your mind?

Speaker 11 (01:04:47):
Tim, gentlemen, great win today, another gut wrenching performance Charlie,
I'll just take care of this up front before we
talked Steelers. We missed by one game year old high
school playing in Mind for the WPIL championship.

Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
Because I'm mad about that.

Speaker 11 (01:05:04):
Well, yeah, and the Wolverines got beat by South Park,
so that had been the first that would have been
the only other time they played. I was in fifth
grade watching it. With the homecoming game, they fourteen to fourteen.
So there's the history. But anyhow, today, as far as
the defense was lights out, they are a great performance.

(01:05:27):
The offense, you know, people keep calling in about you know,
when are they going to deploy Mike Williams. And you
know the other thing too. My my question, there's two questions, really,
a comment and that question. The comment is you can't
just throw a guy into the offense right away, even
though in a limited form. To the best of my knowledge, Charlie,

(01:05:49):
you would know more than I would, because you know,
if you put them out there for a play, but
there's a change, you know, depending upon the look he
gets and the communication with the quarterback. Yeah, that route
might change on the route tree. The other thing is
the way that if you watched Baltimore was dropping seven

(01:06:09):
most of the time, and I mean giving all kinds
of help deep. A kid like Austin is a kind
of kid that you could probably use horizontally. And I
don't know about that, Charlie, I guess is another question
for you.

Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
That's a great point. I'll interrupt you here, Tim.

Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
One of the things that Ravens have problems with on
pass defense or the shallow crosses or I don't know
if it's necessarily shallow, but behind the linebackers and get
guys going latterly and hit them on time and let
him get to the boundary and.

Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
Run it up. Your point about Williams is well taken.

Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
Although Ben Scaronic and Van Jefferson played a ton of
snaps today and they had a combined two targets and
a combined one catch.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
It's too one dimensional to me when they're out there.

Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
It is, and you can become predictable, right, And I
think those are things you're not. It's not a threat
in the passing game, but they're better blockers Kylin Austen,
when he's on the field, he's a better pass receiver
than he is a run blocker. So it's just trying
to figure out what that right mix is because defensive
coordinators they're studying, they're studying the tape and they're letting
you know, hey, when these.

Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
Guys are on the.

Speaker 5 (01:07:14):
Field, this is what it looks like, regardless of what
the rest of the personnel groups are. And if you
can get some type of tip off of that, guess what,
that's the advantage for you prior to the ball being snapped.
So that's just something that the Steelers are going to
continue to have to work with. But ultimately, how does
Mike Williams fit into this particular manner Because he is
a bigger receiver, he can do both. But again, when

(01:07:35):
he is he ready to actually continue to be out
there when the rest of the team is at one
hundred percent and here he is about sixty percent trying
to learn the offense and not understand that the nuances
as it relates to the audibles at the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 6 (01:07:48):
Right.

Speaker 11 (01:07:49):
So hopefully down the stretch they get him involved, and
I've faced them, I think they will. This coaching Staft's
making a whole lot better decisions this year than they have.

Speaker 6 (01:07:58):
A year's pass.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
The other thing I went add about Williams tim is
you know he is coming off in ACL and he's
a little older. I don't think he's the guy that
was at the height of his powers with the Chargers.
I think he's gonna be a periodic contributor.

Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
I thought this ever since they picked him up.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
I don't think he's gonna be a guy that catches
nine balls for one hundred and forty five yards. But
he's gonna score you a key touchdown. Now, last week
it was the key touchdown. He's gonna get you a
key first down when you need it. He's gonna impact
the game his contributions. It's gonna be more about quality
than quantity. But he had nothing today, So they gotta

(01:08:38):
find a happy medium between the game winning touchdown and
not getting targeted.

Speaker 5 (01:08:42):
Absolutely, and somebody is going to have to step up
opposite George Pickings. We know he is the number one
receiver on his team. He's a freak athlete. He had
another eight catches eighty nine yards here today. Could have
been a little bit more if they were able to
get you sustained some of those drafts. But who else
is going to be that other receiver when that when
you step on that field and the defense is looking

(01:09:02):
at you, say we have to defend this person. But
that's why you saw a lot of moving around by
George Pickens today, and Arthur Smith did a dice job
of making sure that he was able to isolate those
one on one matchups and not sitting out there essentially
as a dead horse out there and you're double team
in easy relevant in the game. So he at least
George was able to get involved in the game. We
need other people to actually compliment him.

Speaker 11 (01:09:25):
Right now, the only last question, and I'll leave you
guys go because there are other people who want to talk.
Do you see them expanding the Seals package.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
I see them using it periodically.

Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
I don't think they're gonna overdo it. I don't think
they're gonna overdo it, but I think you're gonna see it.

Speaker 5 (01:09:41):
Yeah, I think you're gonna see it more. And that's
fair to say because you put it on film here today.
All you're doing is now forcing defensive coordinators who have
to prepare for you in the next couple of weeks
to use practice time by putting two or three reps together,
and you're taking away from maybe a Russell Wilson package
because you have to actually have to defend what Justin
Phillis brings to the equations.

Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
So it's a good problem to have.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Thanks for the call. Tim, you're listening to the Steelers
Audio Network. Mike Persuda, thanks for joining us. Our next
