Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Today it's a Fantasy Live edition of the Fantasy Football Podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
I'm Patrick Clayban. I'll be joined by Marcus Grant and
Adam Rink.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
As we reached the start of week six, we got
a quarterback change that might impact our fantasy rosters, plus
a handful of signal callers that have surprised us all season.
Plus Marcus Grant breaks down the players whose fantasy production
is real and which ones are a mirage. And Adam
Rank tells us why we should chill on one of
the top tight.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Ends in the game.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Everybody, Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Not Patrick claibn here
with Adam Rank and Marcus Grant kicking off Week six
here in the NFL, and after last night, a little
reminder to the fantasy community, if you fall down, you can.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Get right back up and then go win. I have
no dog in that fight, but I was screaming. I'm like,
get up, driver, what do you do? It's like one
of those nightmares you never heard of.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Nightmares is a gary like playing in a game and
you keep falling on the field and can get up?
No I did. Apparently, Apparently I'm fair enough. I felt
like Trevor Lawrence was living that nightmare. In the moment,
I felt bad for him.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
I mean, I guess for people of a certain age, right,
it's it's sort of the life Alert commercial in reverse.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Help I fallen, but.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
I'm gonna get up and break a couple tackles and
get into the zone.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Anyway, all quarterbacks should have touchdown alert sitting of alert.
Let's start off today with a little bit of news
in case you missed it earlier.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Today, the Cleveland Browns have traded.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Joe Flacco across the state into the Vision to the
Cincinnati Bengals, who will likely take over for Jake Browning.
The Cincinnati will face the Packers Sunday afternoon in Green
Bay before a short week Thursday night matchup at home
against the Steelers. Marcus, what does this mean for fantasy
managers with Bengals on their rosters.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
I mean, I guess you can be a little more
optimistic about Jamar Chase. Although I think what we saw
from Jamar Chase and Jake Browning last week was just
a reminder. I know that people were sort of panicked.
What do I do a boy Jamar Chase? Do I
trade him? Do I bench in what happen, and then
you know he gives you one hundred and ten jars
and gets in the end zone.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Just a reminder off, that's why.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
You that's why you drafted Jamar Chase where you did,
and that's also why you're playing him every week. I
guess maybe with Joe Flacco you can expect some more
downfield opportunities, but you know, the game is the game.
Jamar Chase is going to be in your starting lineup,
so I guess there's a slight upgrade, but I don't
know that it's a major one.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Why is everybody downplay this Joe Flit is amazing. I
love when this news broke five hours ago, a long,
long five hours ago.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I was like, this is awesome.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
I love this opportunity for Joe Flacco, not only for
Jamar Chase, for T Higgins and Chris Collins with I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Like any any one of the Bengals wide receivers. I'm
I'm all about this.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
By the way, Joe Flacco just beat the Packers two
weeks ago. I'm confident he can do it again with
T Higgins and Jamar Chase.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
I really like this. Listen, Joe Flacco.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
He's not hanging around playing in the NFL to just
sit here and dink and dunk down the field. He's
throwing the ball down the field of t Higgins and
Jamar Jason. By the way, I think he also wants
to uh to quiet his children. His children when talking
to Addie, Kick and Walla were like, yeah, our dad's
a backup. He's fine, Like they're worse than Marcus somehow.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Like nay, whatever, we told him, he's a backup. Like
he's a good player. Yes, he's a good player.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
He's had a lot of success. My question is more
about the entire structure of the Cincinnati Bengals. Even in
those highlights where we just saw Jake Brown and he's
getting hit, he's got to.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Get rid of.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
He knows he's got to get rid of that ball
hanging around and so all's gonna be out quick, he's
gonna be good.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Maybe some of those situations, why why we see Dylan
Gabriel in because Joe Flacka was getting rid of the
ball and throwing it out of bounds and really kind
of leaving some plays on the field for the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
I'm not gonna have we'll see. I'm not gonna sit
here while I'm sorry, Dylan Gabriel. They look the same,
and no, I will not stand for this.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
All right.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Cautiously optimistic over here, Reight says, hey, yeah, start all
your Bengals.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I'm in let's get some more news.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Giants head coach Brown with an update this morning about
a few of those injuries from New York leading to
Thursday night football. Jackson Dart on the ISSRA report with
a hamstring injury, but Dave Ball says he'll be okay.
Coach also says optimistic about Tyrone Tracy's chances at playing
while wide out Darius Slayton's hamstring injury has kept him
out of action this week, as they will make a
decision closer to kickoff on Thursday. Thoughts on the Giants

(04:21):
against Philly.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Right, who has the higher ground now I'm sitting out.
I like Jackson Dart, I really do. I think he
has a nice safe floor that elevates himself. Thursday night
games are super weird, as attended by anybody who is
out there watching all the Dodger fans watching the forty
nine ers beat the Rams last and.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
They're all Dodger. Look at the co I'm in the
parking lot.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
I would say this, if you don't need to start
Jackson Dart, I probably wouldn't. There's only two teams on
a buy this weekend. Of course, if you have Lamar Jackson,
you've been streaming Jackson Dart. It's not the worst thing.
It's not the best. But at the same time, you've.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Come this far. We've seen weird things out there.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
We saw Baker Mayfield come out in one of the
greatest RAMS.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Performances of all times. Go out there in Sofi Stadium.
What do you think of great RAMS performances? I do.
I think Baker Mayfield is up there.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, I'm putting past all those great performances, going straight
through there.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Seventeen points. We got Jim Everett Farragut. Let's talk about
Monday night.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Speaking of prom time, we started with the Trev fall
at the show.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Trev rosen up.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Maybe the raggings this season one performance this.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Was this was a pretty great game.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
I thought it was hilarious that he was leading the
team in rushing with a pair of rushing touchdowns in
fifty four yards like Travis TM what were you what
happened to you, like we were starting.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
You in this one.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Ah. There he is getting a play action fig setting
up the offense. You know, Trevor Lawrence gets a lot
of heat for his I don't know, for his play.
I guess that's the best way to put it. It
wasn't the prettiest it was. It was pretty much a
Trevor Lawrence game where he was going out there doing
some some fun things.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
That was a good throat. That was a throw there. Anyways,
I like it.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I think that I I have too much Trevor Lawrence
in my fantasy leagues because I drafted a lot of
Brian Thomas Junior. And I'm like, well, if I'm gonna
be left with with you know, if I'm gonna miss
out on the quarterback run, I'll just go with Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
It finally paid off on Monday Night.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
I mean, games like that are why we kind of
reluctantly keep buying back into the Jaguars offense, because you
see stuff like that every once in a while. Meanwhile,
Patrick Mahomes is back doing his fantasy thing again, but
maybe doing it in a slightly different way. He's the
QB two overall right now, and he's done it in
large part by essentially being Kansas City's best running back.

(06:35):
He leaves the team in rushing yards. He's tied for
the team lead in rushing touchdowns with Kareem Hunts. Yes,
he did throw for over three hundred yards.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
That was certainly.

Speaker 5 (06:44):
Nice, but you know, right now it's still a little
bit disjointsed for Kansas City. It's definitely helping. The guys
are starting to come back. You know, we've seen Zavi
You're worthy comeback or she Rice will be back soon.
So I think there's still really good days coming. I
don't think for the Chief. So at some point you
might need to get some production out of your running backs.
But in the meantime, if you got Patrick Mahomes, that's

(07:05):
all good.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
A little bit of production from one other running backs.
On Monday Night Football, Kareem Hunt had eighteen Fantasy points,
a season high for him, as well as the RB
eight on the week, and maybe he might be the
case back that you actually want. He's got five goal
line carries this season to be Checko's zero. Definitely a
thing that's gone back years because he's top five in
the league. A touchdown percentage for running backs on carries

(07:30):
since twenty twenty three, and a lot of that has
to do with his reunion with Andy Reid getting back
in this offense. He's available in seventy three percent of
NFL dot Com league, so perhaps worth a look at
Kareem Hunt.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
He ran the ball seven times. It's so hilarious.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
I mean, it counts. The points count when the point
he said, Hey, speaking of guys who had a great
performance on Monday night, let'sart about Travis Kelsey, who had
not been great coming into this game. I think he
had topped thirteen Fantasy points once in his last eight games.
And then the Chiefs go out there and they're like, oh, no,
you can run a pick play as long as this
one yard. Did you see how quickly all the Chiefs
players held up the one finger.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
They weren't saying we're number one, They're like, no.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
One.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Yeah, they clearly knew.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Listen, I coach against the ayso coaches who'd like to
bend the rules like that. So I know a thing
or two about that. But I don't know if this
is necessarily a harborer for things to come with Travis Kelcey.
I think that he is still a viable option in
this Chiefs offense. One of the things that I'm struck
by as you sit here and you watch it, is like,
how many guys get involved in this passing offense for

(08:30):
the Chiefs. We even saw the Kareem Hunt ended up
with a reception. He spreads the ball around really well,
so for me obviously, Travis Kelcey is still one of
the top twelve tight ends in fantasy football. Patrick Mahomes
is excellent. But the pass catchers and the running backs
outside of Kareem Hunt, like is it could be really
frustrating for a team that is playing so well.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, the top scoring running backs, a guy that gets
seven carries as we try to figure out the Kansas
City Chiefs still to this point.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
That wraps up Week five. I will hope you out
what you needed on Monday night.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
If you had any of these guys in the perfect
lineup for a Week five, if you probably didn't need
a lot of help on Monday night, including the huge
week two hundred yards on the ground for Rico o'dowdell,
Kymie Fairburn and the Saints defense both putting up eighteen
and what about Amcica Buca, continuing his hot start to
his first ever season. The hoo home Taylor with thirty

(09:21):
one points. Once again, Tom for us to project the
top players in Week six? Who's your QB one, Rick,
I'm gonna go with George.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
You know what.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
He's sitting there, he sees Joe Flacco on that other sideline.
He's like, not again, I'm not going out like that
again to Joe Flacco. He might even throw it to
his own receivers this time. But I do believe this
is a pretty good opportunity. Listen, I'm if they're gonna
we're gonna sit here and do this segment every week.
I'm gonna pick on the same teams every week. Who's
playing the Bengals?

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Packers? Done? Jordan Love lock it in, He's gonna have
a monster game.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
Well. One of the other defenses we can pick on
is the Miami Dolphins because they've been giving up a
lot of production through the air. So that's why go
with Herbo here, Justin Herbert. We talk about quarterbacks in
their rushing ability. Right now, Justin Herbert seventh among quarterbacks
in rushing yards. He's had thirty or more rush yards
in three of his five games, the Dolphins have given
up the third most rushing yards two quarterbacks. They've also

(10:12):
given up nine touchdown passes this season with just one interception,
So the chance of those minus twos happening seem a
lot lower at the moment, So we'll see. I know,
you know, the Chargers have kind of been a little
bit that chargery has happened the last couple of weeks.
We'll see if Justin Herbert can help pull them out
of it this week.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Well, if you guys are going to take some defenses
that we generally pick on, I'll take a very good
player coming off of his buy at the running back position,
and that is Jon Robinson against the Bills, who've also
allowed the third most rugged match touchdowns to the running
backs in the entire NFL and has gone for over
one hundred yards from scrimmage in each of the first
four games for the Falcons. I love the matchup again

(10:50):
coming off the buy and the rest for Jon Robinson.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
What about you, right? You know what, mister stump the band.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Okay, I'll pick somebody going up against a good rushing defense.
About Jamier Gibbs oh going up against the Chiefs who
did a really nice job last night against Travis etn.
The one thing about Jamir Gibbs is that it doesn't
matter who they're playing, Like, not even the Cleveland Browns
tremendous defensive line could slow him down. He is one
of the most unstoppable players in the league. You find
ways to get him the ball in space as a

(11:16):
receiver as we're watching right here right now, as a
runner out of the backfield like this is just setting
up perfectly. He will go out there and towards teams,
he will find a way to get it done. So
for me, when you're talking about the best running back
in the NFL right now, I think there's a really.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Good case for Jamiir Gibbs. Let's get to the wid receivers. Marcus,
who's your water receover one.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
Sometimes this job's easy. You find a really good player
against a bad defense and that's the name you say,
So Puka to Kua going against the Ravens right now,
this might be the lowest point the Ravens defense has
been in under John Harbaugh.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
I mean they're beat up, they're just not playing well.

Speaker 5 (11:54):
Meanwhile, you've got Puka, who is currently the top scoring
player in all of fantasy football at least twenty two
points in every game so far this year, leads the
league in targets, receptions, receiving yards. I mean, you know,
Matthew Stafford could be on his way to add to
help feeding another triple crown wide receiver at this rate,
nine or more targets in every game, eight or more

(12:14):
receptions in every game. I mean, like, I didn't need
to tell you to start pooking Akula, but you should
extra super double, super superstar pooking Akua if that's a
thing this week.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yeah, fifty not out of the question.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Like, watch out the TS reception record, it's coming. I'll
take Davonta Smith as my wide receiver one. The Giants
have allowed six top fifteen receivers in the season and
always seem prompt to give up the big play, spending
US nineteen points in two of the last three games.
Get a healthy week for the Eagles offense, a short
week as long as aj Brown is not knocking away

(12:46):
a game winning hail marriotips, I think DeVonta Smith will
have a solid opportunity. Of course, his quarterback, one that
traditionally scores a lot of points as well. In Fantasy football,
But there are some guys that relative to their eighty
are having huge Fantasy football seasons at the quarterback spot.
Obviously you look at guy like Josh Allen, he's a

(13:07):
QB one, but go on down the board considering where
they were drafted, like Matthew Stafford the QB twenty three
with ninety seven points right now, Daniel Jones the QB
thirty four with ninety five of fantasy points. So who
jumps off this board to you? Marcus Baker Mayfield is
one that does. And I don't know that it's a

(13:28):
huge surprise me. He's the QB three right now. He's
being drafted outside that's how five or six guys. But
this is always kind of in the realm of possibility,
and we're talking about a guy who's at back to
back four thousand yard seasons.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
I think this is pretty sustainable.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Right when you look at the weapons of mean a
mecha Abuka we talked about has been amazing so far
this year. You know, he's got Kate Odden who is
very active this past week, Chris Godwin sort of getting
back into the flow. They'll get Mike Evans back as well,
but throwing the fact that Baker's been incredibly efficient sixty
five percent completion so far this year. He's been top
ten and completion. It's each of the last two seasons.
So yeah, while we drafted him outside the top five guys,

(14:04):
the fact that he's sitting here in the top three
right now not a major.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Surprise to me.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
One of the things I love doing during the draft
season was stacking my quarterbacks. I talked about Trevor Lawrence
and Brian Thomas Junior, but I really love the stack
of Dak Prescott and.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Ceedee Lamb coming into this year.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
Now. Obviously Ceedee Lamb has been battling some injuries, but
Dak Prescott has still been a very efficient fantasy quarterback
currently the QB five on the year, and that's without
having those having the ability to go to both Ceedee
Lamb and George Pickens for a large part of the season.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
So when Ceedee Lamb gets back this.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Year, I really do believe there's going to be a
huge opportunity for Dak to continue to climb up this board.
And it's not going to shock me if Dak Prescott
ends up top three amongst fantasy quarterbacks this season.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Kind of like the way we drew it up.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
He was definitely underdrafted, and especially after the Micah Parsons trait,
I think he moved up.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
But a guy that is here that I I would not.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
Have pegged being here at this point in the season
is Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
I mean, we went through the drama with the back injury.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
He was hanging out in an airstream trailer getting special
treatment for a while. Then he's come out and he
is just dealt. I mean, obviously it helps when you've
got Pooka Nakua doing amazing things on one side there.
This feels a little unsustainable though, because he's averaging three
hundred passing yards per game. He's on pace for what
would be a career high fifty one hundred passing yards

(15:28):
this season. I just don't see that continuing. The Rams
throwing the ball about sixty percent of the time. Last
couple of years that number has been closer to fifty
seven percent. So I think at some point, especially as
Kivin Williams, despite the occasional ball security issues, is running well,
I do think you're gonna see Sean McVay bring a
little bit more balance to this offense. So it's been
a great start for Stafford. I think he has a
few more spike weeks, but I just don't know that

(15:49):
he hangs around the top ten all year.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yeah, especially don't want to put him in too much danger,
but a spike week I think we all feel sure
is coming this week.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
It's been a spike season for Daniel Jones, the quarterback
eight right now, and you keep waiting for things to
fall off. That the highlights right here at Sofi Stadium
against a solid Rams defense taking on a very good
Denver Broncos defense. We might consider the way things have
gone this season, like QB eight could be the floor

(16:20):
for Danny Dimes. He already has three rushing touchdowns and
the knock on Dimes, which was something that I was
saying before the season in terms of daking and dunking,
not taking big shots down the field. He's got eight
point six yards per pass to him this season. That's
number three in the NFL. Shout out to Daniel Jones
having a great season. More to come here on NFL
Fantasy lot it was the twenty twenty season all over again.

(16:42):
In fantasy this week, Darren Waller and Stefon Diggs balling out.
But which of these veterans and new uniforms can we
count off for the rest of the twenty twenty five season.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Marcus Grant separates the real from mirage. Next on Fantasy Love,
Welcome back to.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
The NFL Fan, I so welcome back to fantasy relevance.
Darren Waller's tom for real or mirage With Marcus grantits
Marcus will tell us what we can believe and what
we should be very skeptical of.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Let's start with the Darren Waller stepping out of Delorian Marcus,
is that really? I think this is real?

Speaker 5 (17:17):
I think you know, this is the tangible thing that
we can sort of hold on to. And I might
have even felt this way even had Tyreek Hill not
gotten injured. I mean he stepped out, you miss, just
step back on to the field, stepped out of retirement.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
And the last two weeks he's.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Been second in target and air yard share. Yes, some
of that is because Tyreek hasn't been there, but when
you watch him, they are using him as a downfield
option twelve air yards per target. He leads the Dolphins
with three in zone targets, having played basically just two
games so far, but now you add in the fact
that there is no Tyreek for the rest of this season.
We know that Jayalen Wall's gonna get his We know

(17:52):
Devon a Chan is going to be a part of it.
But it looks like Darren Waller really has earned a
tongue of Iololis trust and it's going to be a
heavy part of this passing game going forward.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Excited to see.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Good luck to the Miami Dolphins as they continue the
twenty twenty five season. Let's go over to the Houston Texans,
whose offense looked bad, but then they saw the Baltimore
Ravens and everything looked great.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Was that real for CJ. Shroud or a bit of
a mirage? CJ.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Shroud from the Inland Empire where you can get dusty
and hot and dry and sometimes you start to see
things a little bit. This one feels like a mirage
to me. I mean, we saw CJ. Shroud and the
Texans offense really struggle at the early part of the season.
Look his first three games, two hundred passing yards per game,
just two touchdowns, three interceptions. Then he faces, as you mentioned,
the Titans and the Ravens, both of them bottom ten

(18:38):
pass defenses in the last two weeks, CJ Shroud two
hundred and thirty eight passing yards per game with six
touchdowns no i iNTS. But look, the offensive line is
still a mess for the Texans. They're still looking for
a consistent second option in that passing game beyond Nico Collins.
And they got to buy this week. But the next
four games, the Seahawks, the Niners, the Broncos, the Jaguars,

(18:58):
those all four looking like really daunting defenses. So if
you took advantage of the CJ. Shroud explosion the last
couple of weeks, hooray, I think it's time for him
probably to go back on the bench until we see
a little more.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Yeah, projecting a dissension back to Earth. One of his
former teammates, Stefan Diggs, played against a lot of his
former teammates on Sunday Night Football, said he was nostalgic.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
He went out there and got revenge. Marcus. Is that
real or was it a mirage?

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Well, first off, as Michael left Floria pointed out on
our podcast, it's not really revenge when you asked out
of the place, you know, in the first instance, right,
But whatever, he played well, against against the.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Bill, so there's no denying that.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
I think this is real though for Stefan Diggs, because
we heard a couple of weeks ago Drake May saying
that they need to get Digs more involved, and we've
seen back to back weeks how he has really been
productive for this offense and some of it is really
just making it more of a downfield threat. Ten point
two yard average depth of target weeks.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Four and five.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
That number was just below seven in weeks one through three.
They brought him in here to improve a wide receiver
room that had been maybe the he's worst over the
last couple of seasons. It does look like he's starting
to take charge as the alpha. So look as Drake
May continues to get more comfortable and look more productive,
I think Stefan Diggs benefits and vice versa. I think
this is a great partnership for both of these players.

(20:13):
And I think what we're seeing out of Stefan Diggs
is going to carry on.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
One offense that.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Has a quarterback looks very confident, very productive is the
Dallas Cowboys. But one thing that we weren't expecting is
Ryan Flinoy to be making a bunch of plays markins.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Is that real or is it a morale? I don't
think this is going to be sustainable.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
For Ryan Flinoy, it was great. I mean, he looked
fantastic this past week for the jow Boys. But previous
three games he was playing about fifteen snaps per game,
had a total of five targets, four catches thirty five yards.
You fast forward to week five where he plays double
the amount of snaps. He had nine targets, six catches
for one hundred and fourteen yards. Look, even before Ceede

(20:51):
Lamb comes back, George Pickens, Jake Ferguson is still going
to be the top options. They're still going to get
a whole lot of opportunity. Plus we know Lamb is
going to be back in seeable future, So just because
of that, we're gonna see Florinoy sort of go back
and fade to the background because of that usage. It's
just gonna be hard to imagine you're gonna get any
more production like this regularly.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
But we can enjoy the bit of highs that occasionally
come from guys that we aren't expecting a lot to
score some fantasy points. Previously, Ryan Floyd might have been
featured in a segment we.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Called the Waiver Wire Hot Sauce. Let's get over to
Adam went for this week's of this. All right, thank
you so much, Patrick.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
If I didn't know any better, I feel like the
ie was somehow catching strays. Why would that be because
when we're talking about salsa and hot sauce, the ie
dominates southern California.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
But let's talk about a man, right, thank you, Chunky b.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
Yes, let's start with a mild but flavorful my guy,
Rico O'Donnell. Back in the late eighties early nineteen nineties,
a man by the name of Rico Suave swept the nation.
You ever heard of that Kendall's nop? You didn't, I
didn't think so. He also started a movie called Can't
Buy Me Love. But I'm here to tell you this
is not some sort of Ronald McDonald Miller scam. He's

(22:00):
not going to leave you high and drive on New
Year's Eve like he's Cindy Mancini. No, he is gonna
come through like revenge, like when Kenneth picked up Patrick
Dempsey and threw him against the garage and said.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
You bleeped on my house, you pooped on my house.

Speaker 6 (22:15):
That's the way ric O'Donnell is going to treat the
Dallas Cowboys this week.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
By the way, the movie Can't Buy Me Love set
in Arizona, but it's mild, but flavor bolet because he's
probably already gone on the waiver wire already this week.
Oh there's one, sorry, Chuckie. Let me get to another one.
All right, let's go, let's get spicy. Speaking of Arizona,
let's get a little spicy. Let's talk about Michael Carter.
By the way, the De Marcado fumble was the illustration

(22:40):
of what Arizona hot sauce is actually like.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Just fumbling at the goal, Like, how are you fumbling?

Speaker 4 (22:47):
How are you sitting there fumbling salsa recipes in Arizona.
Like if you can't get good Chila keelays in Idaho,
that's fine, you're Arizona. I know somebody else hit me
up on the social media this week and they said,
Casa Renoso, I actually know that spot in Tempe areas.
I think it's timpy Arizona. You gotta go further song,
you gotta go down to Gia Crossing. However, back to

(23:09):
the point at hand, Michael Carter. This is sorry, Yeah,
I forgot. We're doing a segment about football players. Michael
Carter is a good player. Last year he played with
his coaching staff. Now, obviously there was a lot of
injuries at the end of last season when they brought
him in and he started killing it. But even before
the fumble, Michael Carter was already dominating in touches and
carries for the Cardinals last week. So if he is

(23:29):
available on your waiver wire, you gotta go out and
get him.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Let's get to see you. Oh, got it on the corner.
All right, you need a tight end. I got a
couple of I got a couple of flavors here for you.
Before we do it, I got to bring up and
think about Darren Waller before we.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Get Before we get there, somebody's gonna say, Darren, I
told you last week. Now we're sold out. It's like
Tamali's at Christmas. We're sold out at Darren Waller. You
should have listened to me last week when I said
he was the John Hugh Smith of this season. So
we all start off with THEO Johnson. We're going to
the meadowlands. This is a three alarm THEO Johnson. We
were talking about Jackson Dart earlier this earlier this show

(24:04):
about how he is good at running the football, but
he's also not throwing the ball down the field. He's
not pushing the ball down the field, which means there's
a lot of opportunities for THEO Johnson going out there
killing it. He's doing a really nice job. He's actually
got a lot of chemistry with Jackson Dart. So if
you need a tight end, I know that Brenton Strange
left the game last night. I've been rolling with him.

(24:25):
George Kittle's been on the the the inactive list for
like said our thank you so much. So I think
that this is a really good option, THEO Johnson.

Speaker 6 (24:34):
But if you want to go thermonu Keeler, Wait, what
is it el dablo to me? Eliablo, El diablo, Let's stay.
Let's stay on the meadowlands and Mason john Patrick Mason, No,
it's Mason Taylor is a really good option playing with
Justin Fields and the New York Jets. There's one of
the things that we've noticed about the Jets so far
this season with Justin Fields, again, like Jackson Dart not

(24:56):
pushing the ball down the field.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Garrett Wilson is the number one wide receiver for the
New York Jets, but the number two option, the backup option,
is Mason Taylor. He is the de facto number two
pass catcher in this backfield.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Why, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
I like Brice Hall, I like some of the other
guys that they got there, but Mason Taylor has been
the guy who has been coming through. And by the way,
if it allows us to come out here and start
quoting the Rock once.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Again, we're gonna do it. We're gonna be doing yeah. Here,
you're a cot between our rock and a hard case.
Go go out there and get Mason Taylor. And that
is the waiver wire hot sauce for Week six. Tom'll
get in the trade wins here on NFL Fantasy Live.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
As we want you to be able to improve your
roster as the season goes on, and there's some great
opportunities out there to go make some deals that lift
everybody up. As we're not trying to take advantage of
folks here on this show. So Marcus, what are some
players that you will trade for?

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Right now?

Speaker 5 (25:46):
I'm gonna go to DC and say you go get
a bill, get the Corey Krosky Merritt, the guy that
the Commanders are starting to realize is the best running
back on their roster. Now, hopefully you can swing a
deal before fantasy managers in your league start to realize
that notable advantage in snaps last week against the Chargers
double digit.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Carries for the second time.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
In fact, both times he's had double digit carries, he's
had at least eighty rushing yards and a touchdown. Also,
a pretty favorable schedule for the rest of the season,
So with him starting to play well, I think you're
going to start to see less of Chris Rodriguez and
Jeremy McNichols. So the price might have gone up after
last time, but still get in if you can.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
I'm going to say trade for Christian McCaffrey. Somebody in
the commissary over here the other day was like, Hey,
should I trade away Christian McCaffrey, And I'm like, no,
don't do that. I know that he hasn't rushed for
any touchdowns this season, but the progression back to the
mean only says that he's going to end up rushing
for touchdowns this season. If you're worried about injury, concerns
or anything like that. I hate to break the news

(26:45):
to you. Everybody in the NFL is an injury risk.
Trade everybody then at that point it wouldn't matter because
everybody theoretically could be injured at some point. Don't worry
about that, don't play a scared game. I go with
guy who's been targeted fifty two times this season. Only
two other players in the league, Pukakua and Chris Olave,
have been targeted more than CMC. If anybody is out

(27:08):
there offering CMC, call me up. My number is online.
They'll find it, call me, and I will do with
the deal. Wide receiver one potential with the running backs
spot for CMC. Let's go over to the players that
we're trading away Marcus.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
I'm gonna go David and Joku and here's you might
want to wait and see if you get one more
big game out of him potentially, but no, it's it's
probably time to move on. I think he's still going
to get a fair amount of targets from Dylan Gabriel.
The problem is this is a low volume, sort of
short yardage passing game. He's also going to have to
compete with Harold fan and junior for the rest of
the season. So what we saw in Week five that

(27:41):
might be kind of a high water mark for him.
So I would try to move on from David and Joku.
Especially in a World Warre tight end not very deep,
somebody herely probably needs help.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
I'm going to go with DeVonta Smith because I want
to offer at least something that somebody might want, and
he's he's been.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Really good over the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 4 (27:58):
He's had he's together some nice games, and I think
he is a good receiver. The one thing that I
have hesitation for is the consistency. The Eagles are still
lower third in pass attemps. I don't expect them to
be in many games where they are throwing the ball.
We saw it earlier this year in a game where
they fell behind the Rams, they had to throw the ball.
They had to throw the ball a little bit this
last week, but we'll see on Thursday night. They're going

(28:20):
to go back to running the football. Jalen Hurts is
going to go back to running the football. So if
I could move on from Devonte Smith right now, I
would love to.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Let's evaluate some.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Folks trade questions right now. Sebastian Watlson O, Marcus, should
our trade George Pickens and ETN for Breis Hall and
Marvin Harrison?

Speaker 1 (28:38):
I would not.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
I think Marvin Harrison is going to be inconsistent. I
think I like George Pickens and I like his quarterback
situation better. I think the ETN for a Hall of
Fame kind of ends up being a wash. All right,
this one's for you right coming from Muno's I believe
should our trade City Land for Nico Collins and Jordan Mason?

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Oh if you need some running back help.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
I don't hate this necessarily because we're still winning on
when Ceedee Lamb is going to return to the Dallas
Cowboys and Ego. Collins showed signs of life this week
even though C. J. Stroud was spreading the ball around.
He's going to be on a bye week two, so man,
But you know what I'm gonna say. No, I like
the idea of it, but I'm still going to say
and I still love CD.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Yeah, considering where you're drafted him as well. This question
for you, Marcus, our trade McConkie for Montgomery.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
He's already got talented wilde receivers. Really good list there.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
But as running backs need some help, I mean absolutely
because of your roster construction right now and when what
you need, I would one hundred percent do that. But
even if you were a little bit more ballanced, I
think I might do that, just because I think right
now Montgomery has a higher ceiling than Lad mcconkeye, who
really is very clearly the number three wide receiver for
the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
All right, last one for rank Zach wants to know
Jake Ferguson for Rashi Rice straight up needs wide receiver
help and hoping on kills return from my arm.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah, if I could swing that deal, I would absolutely do.
And I think Rashie Rice is somebody that you want
to be. This is for everybody I want to be.
Stand on your roster right now. Again, I gave you
to the viable options. You can go up and pick
up on the waiver wire. In the interim while you're
waiting for George Picking or George Kittle excuse me to
come back, you can go out there and get THEO
Johnson or Jordan Mason and kind of cover your bases

(30:14):
until George gets back.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
All right, And again, folks go out there and make
those trades just have player movement because it's fun for
everybody still to come.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
It's October Halloween.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Right around the quarter, Marcus Grant will share some matchup
nightmares that's gonna keep fantasy managers up at night.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
We'll be back right after the Welcome back to NFL
Fantasy Live.

Speaker 5 (30:39):
And it's time now for my five spooky season is
right around the corner and in Van Fain, we've got
my five nightmare matchups for you to keep an eye
on for the remainder of the fantasy season. We'll start
at number five. It's for quarterbacks against the Houston Texans.
Demko Ryans defense is aret thing that happened in Houston

(31:01):
since the Ghetto boys realized that Halloween fell out a weekend.
Giving up the fewest Fantasy points per game to the
quarterback position just three passing touchdowns surrendered, fewest in the league.
I know, yes, they faced Trevor Lawrence, cam Warden Cooper Rush,
but they also held Baker Mayfield two hundred and fifteen yards.
They held Matthew Staffords in just one touchdown. After the bye,
They've got Sam Donald, Niners QB, whoever that might be,

(31:23):
and Bo Nick So something to be aware of when
you're setting your lineups. At number four, pass catching running
backs versus the Packers. Green Bay right now looking as
scary as Camp Crystal Lake. Packers containing passing games pretty
much just short yardage throws six point eight yard overall
average depth of target. That's fifth lowest in the NFL.
They've given up a grand total of ninety nine receiving

(31:44):
yards on twenty six catches to running backs three point
eight yards per catch. If you're doing the match, I
know Jamiir Gibbs had ten catches. It went for thirty
one yards. Northern running back has more than eighteen receiving
yards against the Packers.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
This is one you might not want to mess with.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
At number three, it's wide receivers against the Minnesota Vikings.
So far, the Vikings has sent a lot of wideouts
to Valhalla, giving up the fewest receiving yards to wideouts,
just four hundred and eighty three yards. One hundred and
twenty six of those went to dk Metcalf. No other
wideout has more than sixty eight yards in a game
against the Vikings. Negative catch rate over expectation, negative receiving

(32:20):
yards over expectation. Very quietly, Isaiah Rodgers having a good
start of the year. Nine catches allowed on just twenty targets.
Best to consider avoiding Minnesota with some of your passing options.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
At number two, slot receivers.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
Against the Saints, par of that New Orleans defense putting
a lot of voodoo on slot pass catchers. They're getting
attacked heavily on the outside, but those guys inside not
doing so much. Wandale Robinson four catches for twenty eight
yards at week five. That's the best production from somebody
out of the slots so far this year against New Orleans.
So again, you can start guys on the outside. But again,

(32:54):
if you're looking at a guy who's primarily a slot receiver,
might want to stay away from this New Orleans defense.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
And at number one, it is.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Defenses against the Kansas City Chiefs. I know you saw
the ninety nine yard pick six by Devin Lloyd, but
other than that, that Mahomes black magic is starting to
pop up again. They're starting to look dangerous. Save You're
worthy is back where she writes, eligible to return in.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
A couple of weeks.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
More importantly, the Chiefs generally protecting the football. That interception
last night just their second giveaway all year, tied for
second fewest in the league. They've allowed just seven sacks.
If this big passing game stays hot, eventually that run
game's gonna come too.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
Right now, back to being fantasy defense kryptonite. Those are
my five nightmare matchups for the rest of the season
that might get you a little bit agitated.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
If it's time for you to chill bro Oh, thank you, Marcus.
You know I try.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
I have nightmares about not being able to finish my schoolwork,
like those group projects where you're the one that does
all the work and then everybody else tries to take
the credit. That's what happens every single week on my
fantasy roster, where I put all this effort into facilitating
the team, and the players intentionally undermine me and don't
score enough Fantasy points because people want to talk about, Oh,

(34:05):
Trey McBride is consistent. Trey McBride does all these things
for the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
No, oningly different for me. He didn't do enough.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Nine point one fantasy points is not what I want
from Trey McBride. I need you to go out there
and score seventeen eighteen twenty five Fantasy points.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
I need you to look across the field, is he
Tyla Lockett? Hold the phone, Brad Dude.

Speaker 4 (34:25):
Like we're sitting here, we're talking about some of the
best athletes that Arizona has to offer.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
We're talking Larry Fitz, Tom.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
Chambers, and of course Rick Cain, who came out of
the wavepool in Arizona all the way to the North Shore,
and that when that Barnyard showed up for the first time,
he got tossed but still found a way to get
it done. And now you're trying to come after the
most consistent tight end in the entirety of the NFL,

(34:55):
like this game was his worst game, and so for
so many other of these Hollies, man, this would be
their best game of the season, and that was Trey
McBride's worse. So when it comes down to Patrickuse, sometimes
you gotta set your expectations down, just like when Rick
Kane realized, like, hey, man, if I'm gonna go out
here and surf the waves of the North Shore, I

(35:17):
got to learn how to get down and get to
the soul surfer and me to go out there and
do it.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
So when it comes to Trey McBride, you got a
chim brush.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
A nine point in one fantasy points is fine, and
it's not like, you know, Tyler Lockett outscored him with
his random touchdown.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
He had more points than Tyler Lockett, Quentinn Johnson didn't.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Quinn Johnson got outscored by Tyler Lockett.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
Quinn Johnson, Oh yeah, you caught all your targets, but
then you put one on the.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Brown and you're giving points not just to the other team,
You're gonna pus my fantasy opponent.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
This is not enough, Quintin. This is a clear bait
and switch. I see it. I've got all the evidence,
scoring all those times earlier. A dude, I get. I
get the feeling.

Speaker 6 (35:58):
Man.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
There's too many times these guys go out and they.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Dominate ankle slappers and then they're like, you know what, man,
I'm gonna go down.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
To the wedge. You're like, nah, you're not ready for it.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Like we see like Koch's coming down from Harvard Westlake,
who think they can come out and handle our beaches.
And I'm like, no way, man, you just can't do that.
But you know what, I got enough faith in Quinton Johnson.
There was a wise man yesterday who was on this
very show, who was like, showed me the light, showed
me that like, one bad moment in one game is

(36:31):
not enough of a reason to throw away that everything
that this guy has been doing all year. Man, even
when everybody has been down on this dude. He was like,
no way, man, I'm not going to go out there
and let one moment where I got all skur ball
go out there and take down this great season of mind.
So when it comes to Quinton Johnson, I didn't believe

(36:52):
that I would say this, but Patrick, you.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Gotta cheap bro.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
I should I should ill, I should calm down myself
of great films of my youth, like when a group
of toys banded together to overcome an obstacle that.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Was created by Woody.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
It was all Woody's fault, and it was all Woody's
fault of my fantasy team lost this week an opportunity
to go up against the Ravens defense that looks like
food and everybody's eating except for you, Woody.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
And that's why I'm done all of this h about
the rookie running back in ariz No in Houston.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
It's over Nick chubs Ou scorning everybody's Outscorny hunches.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
As you know, I kind of dig what you're putting
down there, man.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
Like when I watched Toy Story, man, I'm like, Woody
is the worst character of all time.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
That dude not not cool at all.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
The one thing, though, man, that I would love Woody
Marks to do, is to take a nod from Woody
and Toy Story, because Woody and Toy Story is one
of the most selfish characters in the entirety of film.
I'm talking about every body, man like, Woody is the worst,
but he's selfish. And if Woody Marks can be like

(38:05):
and I know that name comes because he likes the
movie too, if you can go out there and kind
of just like focus seeing on that selfishness that made
Woody the star of those three movies. And by my count,
there's only three. We don't even recognize the fourth one.
I'm with QT man, I'm with Quinn Tarantino on that one.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
There's not a fourth.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
But you know what, I'm willing to give this this
young grom the benefit of the doubts. So when it
comes to what he marks, you.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Got a chep br I should I'm chilling on everybody
because if things go wrong, Yeah, you were the one
that put the fantasy team together. Players sunk of that far.
They would like they would like to score points. Sunday,
the International Series continues with another early morning matchup across
the Atlantic. Wake up for an early start to Week six.
Sunday Slate live from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Sunday

(38:56):
Morning Football presented by net Epp continues this bone Nicks
and le Broncos face Justin Field's in the Jets Sunday
nine thirty am Eastern, only on NFL Network and streaming
on NFL Plus. Cover starts at seven am Eastern with
game day kickoff. Looking forward to that matchup and some
for no stats, just vibes as we put away all
the statistical interpretation. That just vibe out was something we

(39:18):
think about this season, Marcus, why don't you leave us off?

Speaker 5 (39:21):
You know they say it's hard to do an imson
impression in front of the person you're impersonating. Yet somehow
Drake may had no problem doing a Josh Allen impression
in front of him on Sunday night. I think you
give you a QB one. For the rest of the season,
we're seeing him make plays with his legs. He's looking
more confident with his arm, starting to get steph On
Digs more involved. So for everybody who was him on
that Drake may train, say it loud and proud.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
He's your guy. You know.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
I feel the same way about this New England Patriots team,
and which is why I'm sort of vibing on Trevion
Henderson eventually getting into the mix. As I was sitting
there watching Mike Rabel on the sideline that was through
the last coaching cycle, I was really excited about where
Mike Rabel was going to end up because I feel
like he was un ceremoniously dumped in Tennessee. I think
he's a great coach, and I think he's got a

(40:04):
great organization going there, down.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
There and phill it in New England.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
Excuse me, get the ball to Trepon Henderson, though I
think the time is nigh. We seen it, we see that,
we see we see the promise there. Please get him
the ball. I say that for my fantasy teams.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
Let's celebrate it's victory.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
To tell us your tail will regale you with all
of the praise that you have earned, because winning is fun.
We'll start with this one coming from k picking up
Rico Donald off Waivers Saturday night and then decoding Sunday
morning to start him over at Alba Kamara biggest w
this season.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
I'd say, what a genius, what a great move right there.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
I would understand the apprehension if you picked up Rico
and didn't start him, I actually started see over him.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
Yeah, same thing I started Kamara in that situation.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Alex played Digs over AJ Brown and started White over
Pacheco in Henderson.

Speaker 5 (40:55):
Look at you, especially the digs park because you know
we're still trying to force a J.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Brown into lineup. So good on you for having the
boldness to move away from it. HB three needed forty
three for Mahomes and Kelsey and got forty five. Oh
that's a brutal bead for your opponent. Oh my gosh,
such a great well. How great for you.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
I know that you were probably sweating that out. If
you would have if you would have tweeted in the
doing you believe or not, I would have believed it.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
Yeah, I would have said that you would not have
got it. Rich had pits on a by picked up Strange,
then dropped Strange for Mason Taylor. It got the win
by six. Such a great move mation mation Yeah, exactly. Sorry,
that's all I got. That's all we have for this
edition of NFL Fantasy Life.

Speaker 2 (41:35):
We'll be back tomorrow with Michael f Florio starts and
sits looking forward to that, and yeah, looking forward to Sunday.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Me and this guy, yeah gay Live Football Game Day Live.
It a lot of fun, the two of us. We'll
see tomorrow though. For Fantasy Life.

Speaker 7 (41:50):
Wow, count help Bob, count help
