Speaker 1 (00:09):
It was a showcase showdown. It's bolder, Yes, the Colorado
Showcase today. Lots of talent on display, lots of potential
Top five talent on display. We were there. We will
break it down for you to tell you what happened
with Jador Sanders, Travis Hunter and the rest of the
buffaloes out there at the showcase. Jackson Dart putting a
(00:30):
dart on the map where perhaps Aaron Rodgers should take notice.
We'll tell you where the old miss quarterback was visiting today.
And in a segment that Adam Rank has titled what
are they thinking? What are the persons in Dallas thinking about?
I got Parsons, the fact that they have not extended
(00:50):
him yet, Jerry Jones saying he's willing to pay more
to get it right. Adam Rank will have his say
on the matter. Welcome inside with the insiders. It's me
Mike Arafalo and it's him Ian Rappaport on a Friday
evening where and we still have plenty of news like
it's unbelievable how the NFL works. We're gonna get to
(01:10):
that in a second. We get through throughout the show.
I mentioned Adam Rank, Jeffrey Tadia going to join us
as well. Steve Weisch and Brian Baldinger out there in Colorado.
And Julio Jones, No, he's not on the program, but
his announcement is after thirteen NFL seasons, nine hundred and
fourteen receptions, a future Hall of Famer for sure. Julio
Jones calling it a career. Seven pro balls, five All pros,
(01:32):
Next stop Canton. Yeah, it'll be in four years. He
did not play last season, but yes, Julio Jones calling
it a career and what a career it was. Meanwhile,
guys who are getting ready to get started on their career. Yeah,
Shadora Sanders had his pro day today and everyone was
(01:53):
looking at every single throw trying to give their opinion
on this one, to see what they thought where they
thought he might go. We're starting to take our projections,
aren't guys. Bucky Brooks, Charles Davis, Daniel Jeremiah ched Ryder,
Murray's Jones, Drew land Zerline coming in with the low
pick even though he pegs him to a team where
others have pegged him and those guys, Uh, Cleveland is
(02:17):
we're out in force, and so were the Giants sending
like a dozen people out there for that pro day today,
Porsche Door, Sanders Russo, Travis Hunter as well afterward should
or with our wife and Baldy.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
All right too.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
You just wrapped up your your showcase.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Just give us your thoughts on how it went. It
wasn't a perfect so of course it's some.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
It's some.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
You know that.
Speaker 7 (02:40):
I'll keep you up a little bit at night. But
you know, I extreme, you know, and what I do
for the most part, I just love perfection.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
So the plays that you weren't perfect off do you
think about those?
Speaker 8 (02:54):
Do?
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Do you reload those plays when is all and done? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (02:57):
Yeah, when it's all sit and done, did nothing about it.
But if course next one is like all right, I
know what it is.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
The one thing you know I got to do.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
The one thing I saw you do is like you
wanted a tempo out there today, like you you know,
you talked to Jay a couple of times like let's
let's get a rhythm.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Yeah, my every quarterback wants to try to get that.
Did you find that?
Speaker 7 (03:14):
Yeah, for sure, I definitely found that. I found that
halfway through, I would say for sure. But of course,
you know, the receivers, it's only it was only like
four or five of them running routes out there today,
so it's tough on them. So I'm a quarterback, I'm
just sitting out there throwing the ball.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
So yeah, up here in the altitude, the receiver's got
to catch their breath.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
What about this because you you didn't test, you didn't
you know, throw at at the combine or anything like this,
did you put any added pressure on yourself to come
out here and.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Say no and do that.
Speaker 7 (03:43):
No, there's no pressure. There's pressure when I wake up
in the morning, you know. So there's no added pressure
anywhere in my life, I'll say at all.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
I thought the script had a lot of variety to it,
including the final two minute drill what you want.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
A lot of games on Baylor.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
I'm just thinking some of the games going back, like
was that part of the process, Like, Okay, it's crunched on,
let's go down.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
And finish this thing.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Yeah, because that's the most important part of football.
Speaker 7 (04:08):
And I know that's where I'm the best, you know,
in in the class and the best in the country
at in a two minute So you know that's that's
that's where my X factor comes out.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
In your relationship with your receivers. I mean, you clearly
saw it out there today. And we were told earlier
that Travis may not run routes, but you guys clearly
have a connection.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Can you talk about that? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (04:30):
I got on trave yesterday because I just found out
it was running around yesterday, so me and him, you know,
I got on him a little bit about that, you know,
because I want to, of course work with him at
all times. But he understood the signmon, and we have
so many years of connection, so it just happens when
we get out there that both eyes get big and
we just connect.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
It's almost a pretty football when you go deep, Like
is that a natural thing that the spirals?
Speaker 5 (04:56):
Tiger?
Speaker 2 (04:57):
The accuracy is it's right to the fingers, Like if
you always thrown a deep ball like that, did.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
You need to learn that?
Speaker 9 (05:03):
Nah?
Speaker 4 (05:03):
I heard I can't throw the d ball, So I don't.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
That's what I hear, but that I'm gonna break that out.
Speaker 7 (05:12):
Yeah, I don't know where they get that from, you know.
So every I understand different thrones and I understand what
has to be done. Like I don't throw one balls
every time if it's unnecessary. Why I don't want to
make it hard on my receivers to catch the ball.
I understand, you know what, they're good, the strengths, their weaknesses,
and I'm not gonna make it tough on them. That's
my whole job.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
What do you say people say you can't throw the
deep ball.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
As we're going through this process, do you pay attention?
Speaker 4 (05:37):
I just know that's the devil trying to get at me.
Speaker 8 (05:39):
Man.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
You know, I know I'm one of guys favorites, so
I'm not really tripping on.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
We saw we saw under center today.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Obviously, Pat Shermer, you guys had your inside receivers are
outside receivers.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
You're playing with tempo. That's probably going to change a
great deal at the NFL level.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
You wanted to show some of that to play action
running back in the backfield and a little bit of
movement as well.
Speaker 7 (05:59):
You understand my bases though. My dad was my coach
in since I was six seven, So that's what that's
where I learned. I learned under center first. I didn't
learn shotgun until you know. It took a little time,
but that's where you know, that's where having great parents,
you know, my mom and dad showing you different parts
of life, doing different things with you. So whenever you
(06:21):
get older, it's second nature.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
The the off field process, we saw so many teams
here to the Browns whole front office as well as
their coaching staff for the most.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Part was here.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
What about just going into these buildings and talking to
some of these executives kind of walk us through some
of the things you've been through.
Speaker 7 (06:36):
It's really it's really exciting. I say, it's excited to
meet all these faces. It's exciting to break all these
fake news that they get about me. So I'm not
having a fest. That's why I tell them, you know,
ask me whatever question. I'm not signing away from anything.
So that's why I get excited the most for so
whatever they're uncertain of, but they hear, you know, I'm
there to address it.
Speaker 10 (06:56):
But the history issued or you've run four different offenses
for more than four six different seas, so that's always
you're always learning the new system each year.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
This year it was different. So the fact that you've
learned it and you've adapted.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
To it, as I know, I'm the most prepared quarterback
to go.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
To the hex. You know that is simple?
Speaker 11 (07:17):
You know?
Speaker 12 (07:19):
All right?
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Well, you do what We're gonna wrap this up.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Thanks a lot for showing out at the showcase.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Appreciate you, all right, that's a lot. Definitely thanks.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Chanor Sanders not lacking for confidence, Ian, it makes you
wonder how he could have possibly had a bad interview.
We heard all this stuff about the bad interviews of
the combine. You see the man right there. You see
his confidence, you see his swagger, you see his knowledge
as well, I mean everything on display. He's very charismatic.
He knows how to deal with the spotlight. He's been
dealing it his entire life. He said, the pressure's on
(07:48):
as soon as he wakes up. But he's one of
God's favorites. Ian, so the devil's trying to get at him,
but he's not having it. Your thoughts on Shador Sanders
and the Colorado Showcase.
Speaker 13 (07:55):
Today, I mean, that sounds like the Dion Sanders that
we all have owned so well and was on NFL
network for years and was in front of bright lights
and big microphones before that postgame pregame really at all
the time, and it all sounded so familiar and like
you wonder, you know, how could you sort of hear
he had a bad interview.
Speaker 12 (08:14):
You know, I'm not sure that's for everyone. It's really not.
I mean, that is it is out there.
Speaker 13 (08:20):
It's a little brash, it is confident, it is addressing
all the things that is calling reports, some of which
we've read on the pre draft process fake news. It
is all right out there, and you know, he makes
a good point. He has really been built for this.
Speaker 12 (08:35):
He has been groomed for this.
Speaker 13 (08:37):
He has been not just under center since he was
five years old, but in front of cameras, in front
of microphones.
Speaker 12 (08:43):
I mean, this is this is sort of what you
get it.
Speaker 13 (08:45):
You know, if the argument is is a rookie quarterback
going to be ready, he's going to be ready. Say
whatever you want on the field, off the field, he
is going to be ready. No one else has been
trained like he did. As far as the on the
field stuff, Mike, he showed us.
Speaker 12 (08:59):
All the throws.
Speaker 13 (09:00):
There haven't been a lot of draft pre draft workouts.
That was basically the only one we're going to see publicly.
The Titans are going to work him out in a
couple of days as well. You know, as far as
he can consider it, he answered all questions. Now it's
really just on the owners, the general managers, the coachould say,
is he the number two pick, is the number three pick?
(09:21):
Or is he going to be the story of the
draft and fall from there?
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Our Daniel Jeremiah breaking it down today, he said a
bit of a loose ball at times, a little bit
of a wobbler sometimes, but the deeper he threw the ball.
DJ Baldy seemed to be impressed with how tight the
spirals were at that point and how on point they were.
I don't know who's saying he can't throw the deep ball.
I watched him in Colorado. He threw plenty of impressive
deep balls, and again today and he threw some to
(09:45):
Travis Hunter, who ran routes today. We had heard that
he might not work out, and they didn't work out
other than this, and he didn't do anything on the
defensive side of the ball. So for all of us saying, oh,
look at everybody who showed up here for the Giants
and the Browns, oh they must be the there for
Shador Sanders, they could be there for Travis Hunter as well.
This is another guy that we're gonna have to watch it.
The second and third overall, pick your thoughts on Travis
(10:09):
Hunter and the temptation for teams to take him versus
going with the quarterback up top. The quarterback may have
to sit in that case.
Speaker 13 (10:17):
I mean, this is why teams bring some of their
defensive personnel as well. I mean, yes, this was basically
Shador Sanders day, but this is Travis Hunter's day as
much as anything. And he didn't play defense, he didn't
do the drills. You just watch him move out there.
I mean, this is one of the drafts elite elite players.
I mean there's some routes he ran there just made
me laugh watching just because of how jutty, how smooth
(10:39):
he is.
Speaker 12 (10:40):
I mean, this is a it's an elite athlete.
Speaker 13 (10:42):
There's not that many, you know, premium elite talents in
this draft, and Travis Hunter is one of them. I
have no doubt that he is going to go in
the top five, no doubt. It's really just a matter
of where he goes.
Speaker 12 (10:53):
And he is kind of entering the world.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Miike.
Speaker 13 (10:55):
Of any team could take him and you would say
this is a talent that is worth it. He is
the top corner, he is the top receiver. He plans
on playing both ways. I think teams very a little
bit as far as where you actually see him. Most
teams believe he is a shutdown corner. Some teams say,
you know, we play him as receivers because he's so
good there. I don't know that it matters someone who's
(11:18):
going to take him in the top five. Someone is
going to get an absolutely electric talent. And I'm a
little bummed that it didn't work out today, but I
don't know that that's going to matter at all in
the process.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
You'll see Travis Hunter plenty on the field when it
comes to this spring, the summer, and as we get
into the regular season, and it's going to be fascinating.
Talking to coaches down at the annual meeting earlier this
week ian when we had those conversations, they said, well, physically,
it's tough to play both ways. Mentally it's tough as well.
I mean, you can only be in one meeting room
at a time, and even at walk through, the offense
and defense are happening at the same time as well,
(11:51):
So it's kind of tough to see him playing fully
both ways. But certainly we expect to see him on
both sides of the ball, even if it's just moonlighting
on one or the other. Meanwhile, Jackson Dart, the quarterback
many expect to go somewhere late in the first round.
I would say, visited with the Steelers, who have a
pick late in the first round twenty first overall, right there,
(12:13):
they're also waiting on Aaron Rodgers to make his decision.
I don't think that this would change Rogers' mind one
way or another. He has indicated that he would like
or be open to the idea of mentoring a quarterback.
He tried to do that with Zach Wilson with the
Jets as well. So another interesting wrinkle because we've talked about,
let's say the Browns or the Giants don't get a
(12:33):
quarterback at two or three, could they come back into
the first round. We've talked about the Saints as a
possibility for Jackson Dart and the Steelers to the mix
as well.
Speaker 13 (12:42):
Yeah, and from my understanding, this is Jackson Dart's last visit,
so his pre draft process is not over. There's still
zoom is uf, but this is his last visit, so
he's at the Steelers today. You mentioned it, obviously a
team that has a late first round pick, at team
that is I'm not sure they love the idea of
doing this veteran quarterback thing year after.
Speaker 12 (12:59):
You think, like to get a young guy.
Speaker 13 (13:00):
They like to get someone who's worth it. They like
to get someone who they can grow with. The Steelers
are among the teams who spend a lot of time
with Jackson Dart. These Saints have also spent a ton
of time with him. The Giants and Browns you mentioned,
those are the teams. Those are the quarterback teams. Those
are the teams that are considering him. It's really just
where do you take it. You know, if you're the
Giants and you view him as a first round quarterback,
(13:22):
to take him at three that seems awfully early, But
then there's no guarantee you're going to get him the
back half for the first round if you trade back in.
These are the types of questions teams are facing if
in fact it's as it appears, which is Jackson Dart
kind of closing in a little bit on being the
third quarterback taken.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
YEP, going to be interesting to watch Jackson Dart because again,
we're gonna have at least one or two teams at
the top that didn't get a quarterback, so the jockeying
for position could be interesting to see where the entry
point is if you want to trade up or if
somebody like the Steelers there wants to take Jackson Dart
at that point. Meanwhile, the running back situation is interesting.
If you read a mock draft, he's got like ten
(14:01):
of them going in the first round. Quinn Shun Judkins,
the Ohio State running back, visited with the Cowboys, according
to a source. Now, according to Quinn Shun himself, who
posted this picture with Jerry Jones on Instagram, Quinn Shawn
Judkins to the Cowboys, who added a couple of veteran
running backs and Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders via free agency,
(14:23):
but have been talked about potentially Ashton Jenkins. Jenkins gent
excuse me and quin Shawn Judkins here ian.
Speaker 13 (14:32):
The Cowboys picked twelve, and so you know, if it's
going to be Judkins, I would highly doubt that it's
going to be at twelve. Maybe they trade back, maybe
they view him as a potential second round running back.
Real question for me is is Ashton genty there at
twelve or do they take him? Is Omarion Hampton there
at twelve?
Speaker 12 (14:49):
And do they take him. I wouldn't be.
Speaker 13 (14:50):
Surprised at either of those things. Maybe I'd be surprised
if genty was there at twelve, But Cowboys are at
least investigating looking into taking a running back.
Speaker 12 (14:59):
It would be awfully early for them.
Speaker 13 (15:01):
But there's some really, really good running backs in the
draft that would make it work.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
He had MGD one, two, three, three running backs in
the first round. None of them quldin't Sean Judkins, by
the way. So yeah, you would say you would think
of the Cowboys at that first Bob will not be
taking them there, and it would be later on potentially.
Ian Rappaport, thank you very much. Don't go anywhere you're
you're gonna needed later in the show.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
You know how this works by now.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Meanwhile, James Cook, the Bill's running back, he's been looking
for big money on his next contract extension. Indications are
they are not close. We're going to talk about that
one coming up later in the show. And coming up
next ole Miss quarter We talked about ole Miss quarterback
Jackson Dark. How about ole Miss quarterback Trey Amos. A
guy who is not lacking for confidence, and that's a
(15:50):
good thing when you're talking about a cornerback. He will
join us next here on The Insiders.
Speaker 13 (16:02):
The guy making all of those plays Ole miss cornerback
Trey Amos, one of the top cornerbacks in the draft.
You see, Bucky Brooks has them listed as top five CBS.
Everyone else seems to as well. A projected first round
pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and our guest on
The Insiders, Trey Amos joining us right now along with
(16:24):
colleague Mike Garafola. Trey, let me start here. Rarely do
we celebrate anything Ole miss in my household. We're a
Mississippi state family as you can.
Speaker 11 (16:37):
Er.
Speaker 12 (16:37):
But uh bo, make an exception here. We're happy to
have you.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
Uh you.
Speaker 13 (16:42):
You have been going through the draft process. Take us
through what it's been like. Have you done some visits,
what kind of teams do you talk to?
Speaker 9 (16:50):
You?
Speaker 12 (16:50):
Just give us a little bit on the process you're.
Speaker 9 (16:52):
Going through currently, have been doing a lot of zoom meetings.
Starting Sunday, I'll be having like a lot of visits
coming up, you know, looking forward to that and getting
to know like you know, the coaches, you know, uh,
the owners, you know, the whole staff.
Speaker 8 (17:12):
So I'm just trying to attack it day by day.
Speaker 5 (17:16):
Where are we going?
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Uh, if you want to tell us, because we like
to break news on this show.
Speaker 9 (17:21):
And you put it out there, you know, sir, so
going to the Eagles on the Cardinals, Bills, Buccaneers, stealers.
Speaker 8 (17:34):
Uh, that's all of them. Yeah, love it all them,
love it.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Hear that.
Speaker 6 (17:39):
Hear that.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
All your fans, all those fan bases. Uh, your teams
are interested in taking a look at Trey Amos, do
me very sit back, because I want to see that
chain right there. I like the sauce that sauce Gardner
wears that says chill with a snowflake. Tell us what
that's about.
Speaker 9 (17:53):
So just kind of a mono for myself. Just keep
everything chill. Uh, never think too high, another thing too low,
you know. So love okay, chill, chill nine yeah time, Okay,
that's the brand.
Speaker 12 (18:14):
Sure, Hey, that's that's not bad.
Speaker 13 (18:16):
I imagine will be seeing in here and more of
that as we get toward the draft, and obviously as
you get into your NFL career. You are a tall guy,
over six feet tall. You're also pretty fast, better than
four four three forty rarety in the combine I've seen
someone that big, run that fast. That is a part
of your game and maybe what helps you stand out.
Tell us what we're going to see on the field
(18:39):
in the NFL, the kind of player you are, the
kind of traits you have.
Speaker 9 (18:43):
You're going to see a lot of, you know, being
physical and a lot of scrimmags, you know against wide receivers,
you know, being a technician. Uh, I feel like I'm
a box of all traits. You know, I could play man,
I could play zone. You know, I could just do
it all. So you know, just going out there, just
showing what I can do, and you know, just be
on the lookout.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Who are the guys you model your game after or
or you look to their game in the NFL, Because
I've seen you mentioned Denzel Ward, Jalen Ramsey, Carlton Davis
as well. Who are the guys you look up to
in this league?
Speaker 9 (19:14):
I really look up to Pats a Chain, you know,
I really love how smooth he is, really get beat,
always on top, always looking smooth.
Speaker 8 (19:22):
You know, I think smooth is very efficient, and you.
Speaker 9 (19:26):
Know, I just try to model my game as him,
and you know, just put everything into my two box.
And uh, you know, everybody's different, but you know, just
do my best. It should be a great technician at
the end of the day.
Speaker 13 (19:42):
If you can bring a little bit of that to
the NFL field, I think you'll be doing fine. You
have had an interesting journey and then obviously we're seeing
a little more of this in the NIL era of college.
But start off in Louisiana, stop at Alabama now with
Ole Miss, different and.
Speaker 12 (20:00):
Coaches, different teammates, different influences. How is your journey to three.
Speaker 13 (20:05):
Different schools and different coaches and systems. How has that
helped shape you as a player and as a person.
Speaker 8 (20:11):
Uh? It shows, It shows a lot, you know, mental toughness.
Speaker 9 (20:15):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (20:16):
It was a long journey.
Speaker 9 (20:18):
It taught me patience and you know at the end,
you know, I just wanted to have fun for my
last year.
Speaker 11 (20:24):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (20:25):
But I learned so much through you know, U, L
BAMMA and Old Miss. Uh. I feel like all those three,
all three schools just you know built me. Uh And
I just found a way. I knew my time was
coming and you know, proceeded to do what I have
to do.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Jackson Dart being talked about as a first round pickers,
but any friendly competition between the two of you has
to see who's going to go first in this draft
because you're projected right around the same area.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (20:55):
Currently, we never really talked about it, you know. You know,
I'm just happy for him. You know he's gonna be
be uh, You're gonna make a big.
Speaker 8 (21:02):
Impact in the game.
Speaker 9 (21:03):
So you know, so might talk to him at the
this little meeting probably, but you know, I'll just have
your fun mm hmm.
Speaker 13 (21:13):
All right, Well, two o miss teammates for sure to
watch for in this upcoming NFL draft. Trey, thank you
very much for joining us in the Insiders. Really appreciate
it and good loss getting through this process and landing
with an NFL team. Now we're heping to take a
look at our good friend Adam Rank, who is set
(21:35):
to join us next on the Insiders talking.
Speaker 12 (21:38):
About all the top quarterbacks.
Speaker 13 (21:40):
So a little bit of one today with Schador Sanders
in Colorado. We are going to get Ranks perspective coming
on next.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
We're gonna bring it Adam Rank for two QB or
not to QB. So we're gonna give advice to teams
early on in the draft, including the team as early
as it gets the Tennessee Titans. To QB or not
to QB, we should have a football in my hand
when I do that.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
Hold on oh.
Speaker 14 (22:16):
Ten days of GMFB weekend, when we used to sit
there and a bunch of stuff on the show, we
do all that. Listen, I'm bringing it back. I'm gonna
I'm gonna start having fun on this show. And I'm
gonna tee myself up on this one because the first team,
I'm I'm already going forget it. Why the rules are
out the window whenever I appear on this program to QB,
not are we talking about cam Ward going first overall
(22:40):
to the Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 15 (22:42):
I say to QB, this is a tough one.
Speaker 14 (22:45):
I understand the science of going with the top player
on the board. If you look at Daniel Jeremiah's top fifty,
he's got Abdual Carter has number one.
Speaker 15 (22:53):
But the question is, I'm like, is cam Ward though
the right quarterback? And I went on a podcast with.
Speaker 14 (22:59):
These Miami Hurricane fans. I think it's called the Orange
Bowl Boys, and I go give it to me straight.
Speaker 15 (23:05):
How good is? How good is cam Ward?
Speaker 14 (23:06):
And they're like better than Jayden and Daniels and I'm like, Okay,
maybe I don't trust your opinion. However, this is a
pretty good quarterback prospect. I think you're starting to see
throughout his pro day, starting to go back and look
at the tape. I love to go back and watch
the games, and I went back and watched that game
against Cal where they got into a lot of trouble,
and he really showed a lot of moxie and there
(23:28):
was something about him that just kind of jumped off
the stream to me. So if I'm the Titans, I
would plan on not being at the top of the
draft again for the next couple of years. I say,
you go out there, solidify the quarterback position. Go out
there and get cam Ward because I guess he's better
than Jayden Daniels.
Speaker 15 (23:45):
At least according to that Hurricanes.
Speaker 13 (23:49):
All right, what about the Browns two QB or not
too QBB or not too QB.
Speaker 15 (23:57):
I want to say not to QB and I listen.
Speaker 14 (24:00):
I enjoyed the interview with Shdor Sanders, and I think
he could end up being a really good quarterback in
this league. But if I'm the Browns, I look at
the defense and I see that Abdul Carter is available.
Speaker 15 (24:12):
And you put him on a defensive line opposite.
Speaker 14 (24:16):
Of Miles Garrett, and suddenly you might have one of
the best defensive lines in football.
Speaker 15 (24:22):
And you know what, it wasn't that long.
Speaker 14 (24:24):
Ago that the Cleveland Browns were the talk of the NFL,
got all the way to the playoffs.
Speaker 15 (24:30):
Hen won a game? I think, did they win a game?
Speaker 8 (24:33):
No?
Speaker 2 (24:33):
They did it?
Speaker 15 (24:34):
Did they?
Speaker 6 (24:35):
No?
Speaker 15 (24:35):
I don't. It doesn't matter. They got to the playoffs
with Joe Flatneau.
Speaker 12 (24:39):
They they did not.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
I didn't.
Speaker 15 (24:41):
I don't mean to rub it in Cleveland. Don't. Don't
get mad at me again.
Speaker 14 (24:44):
Don't send David and Joko it cool, Ran, I'm now,
I'm just saying they got to.
Speaker 15 (24:49):
The playoffs with Joe Flacco.
Speaker 14 (24:51):
Listen, Kirk Cousins is sitting there in Atlanta not doing anything.
Why don't you go out there and make a deal
bringing a guy like Kirk Cousins. Go that way and
figure out your quarterback situation somewhere down the line.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
I enjoyed that what we call b roll in the business,
where we're showing highlights while we're talking about a guy
and you see abdual car the one play where I'm like,
nobody got a pressure. Why did we show this? Oh,
he's covering the guy thirty yards downfield and he gets
hit in the back of the head with the ball.
I suppose that counts just as much as that's running
it away. Sure, pretty good. Yeah, eyes in the back
of his head. The Giants, we asked this question every
(25:27):
year now ran to QB or not to QB.
Speaker 15 (25:31):
Oh I misunderstood.
Speaker 14 (25:32):
I thought you meant they already have two qbs and
they don't need another QB.
Speaker 15 (25:36):
I guess is the question, what are you doing to
my guy? Jamis?
Speaker 14 (25:39):
First of all, I don't like how you did that,
and we're gonna go with Russell Wilson. However, I've got
an idea for the for the Giants. Listen, if you
want to make people forget that Sakwan Barkley went out
there and won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles,
go draft Ashon Genty, go crazy, the flip the board
on its head, go nuts. I would love to just
(26:01):
see the chaos of every and I know, listen, the
lines a mess.
Speaker 15 (26:06):
Uh, they need they have other needs.
Speaker 14 (26:08):
Travis Hunter is likely going to be available, but you
go to an offense where you put him alongside of
Molakue neighbors and regardless of who the quarterback is. And
again I wanted to be Jamis. But still, you put
these guys out there. Now, all of a sudden, you
got a fun little team out there. So I understand
you've already got your quarterback.
Speaker 12 (26:26):
What what war do you need?
Speaker 15 (26:28):
You've already you're done shopping. Go get Ashyon Genty, have
the big the first big wow moment of the night.
They're in a Green Bay or whatever, and go have
yourself a day.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
Not whatever.
Speaker 8 (26:44):
Promo.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
See you get a hold on, folks before you get upset.
Adam Rank is a Bears fan, so that's why he's
doing the whole Green Bay or whatever thing.
Speaker 12 (26:51):
But all right, I just read the promo before.
Speaker 8 (26:54):
You came on. Don't see whatever.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
Rak, We love you.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
I believe you're coming back.
Speaker 11 (26:58):
On the show.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Yes, what are they thinking in the show? Can't wait
to hear what they're thinking. It is draft season. That's
why we did this whole segment.
Speaker 5 (27:05):
And that means path to the Draft is back.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Our experts take you inside the film room to show
you its prospects are rising to the top of draft
boards and are ready to transform at NFL Stars sometimes
you get a special episode to.
Speaker 8 (27:18):
See its weeknights at six pm.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
But today happened to be one of those days where
we got a special episode, a Path to the Draft
the Colorado Showcase, where we interview Dion Sanders.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
All Right, Baldi, we're joined by a good friend, Prime coach.
Speaker 8 (27:32):
Prime.
Speaker 12 (27:33):
Can I get the.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
Checks I used to get in from network? No cash in? Yeah,
we just don't want to make sure we saw you got.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
The extension you might need. Passed it along this way, Prime, right.
Speaker 11 (27:43):
Now, don't believe what they said.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
It's not true. Okay, so Prime, it is a showcase.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Okay, you guys have branded this differently.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
We ain't hard to find. We're here on a couple
of networks, but you see this.
Speaker 11 (27:57):
Every team is here.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
You're getting this expo.
Speaker 11 (28:00):
You're saying that like you surprised.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
No no, no, no, no no. But I'm just saying,
like the magnitude of everything that you guys.
Speaker 11 (28:05):
I said that because I want you to say that again.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Okay, there we go. Okay, probably got to get through
this interview.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
But but what does this do for your overall program
on what you're trying to establish?
Speaker 11 (28:15):
It puts the spotlight on us man, and our kids
are used to they're accustomed to playing in the lights.
But you got to understand that same light that magnifies you,
the same light we sure your blemishes. So they understand that.
And they're seeing some of their teammates. I've been talking
about it all week. You got some of your teammates
who sat in the same room. Who's going to be
on stage in front of America?
Speaker 5 (28:33):
Who's next?
Speaker 11 (28:35):
And then you see those guys sit up in their
seats and you see those eyes like it's me, coach,
all right, I want to see it on the practice field,
because if you don't do it out here, you're not
gonna get a chance to do it right there.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Right, You've been with your door this whole process. Yeah,
Like is there something about it right here? Yeah, Like
you're now you're seeing them like you've Yeah, you've raised them. Yeah,
you raised. It's time and opening it's goot for the world. Yeah,
it's a present that we're presenting to the world. We
wrapped this gift tight and we put some bows on it,
and it's a beautiful thing. It's time to unwrap it.
(29:05):
And you got to see it.
Speaker 11 (29:07):
To me, And I just said this in the press
contens he and Travis Hunter, to me, are the most
bankable two young men in his draft.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
What could surprise you?
Speaker 11 (29:17):
Should Door has given you four years of nothing but
consistency with some of the dysfunctional situations that I may
say that we've placed him in, but he still exceeded
all expectations. I think he holds the record for completion
percentage in college football. Right, he's that guy, and Travis
Hunter ain't nobody like him. No, we can search far
(29:39):
in there, you're not gonna find and like him. So
if you talk about consistency of two guys that you know,
I don't care what happens on that field, but in life,
you know what they're gonna do. Okay, that's who they are.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
But with that four years a starter, let's talk about
shit or now we're getting to this drift process for
just a couple of weeks.
Speaker 11 (29:56):
It's exactly so, all of a sudden, arm ain't strong.
He's strong, man, you yours. All of a sudden, his
arm ain't strong. All of a sudden, He's not this,
He's not that. We but we're built for this man.
He's been raised for this. He what he gets on
the next stage. He's not gonna faint and melt up
on the scrutiny, on opposition and pressure.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
He's a Sanders dog.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
He's built for this.
Speaker 11 (30:22):
Like we we we've gone through this, and he knows
the trials and tripulations that he has to get through
and get by Travis as well.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
He's not a Santus, but he turns your close to it.
Now one of the process here. I believe the shoulder
has been in four different offenses. Yeah, in four different years,
so he's had to learn, adjust, adapt.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
And delivered and delivery and delivered. So now anybody that
wants to learning an offense like this is what he's done.
Speaker 11 (30:48):
And then turn on the table of the press conference
after a win a loss, you see a level of consistency,
a level of calmness. And what you gonna see from
Santa's You're gonna see her smile. You know what, because
I never want you to depict us as an angry
black man. Not gonna do that because we're blessed, blessed
to just have this opportunity. But this guy is consistent.
It ain't no surprises with him. Leadership. What level are
(31:10):
we talking about him? We're talking about extreme level. The
thing about your door. If it's the fourth quarter and
we got the ball, you won't see no butts on
seats in the stands all the time because everybody's up like,
hey man, shoot, you got that too, got this thing too?
Got it like because they've seen it in practice. They
understand what's going to transpire. And this kid right here,
(31:30):
and I'm not saying it because he's mine, he got
that it.
Speaker 8 (31:36):
He got it.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
So let's let's talk about Travis.
Speaker 11 (31:38):
Right.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
He showed up at the combine, showed up everywhere, but
only today all he's doing is catching passes.
Speaker 11 (31:45):
Why would he do more?
Speaker 5 (31:46):
That's my question for you. Why would he do more?
Speaker 11 (31:49):
Like if some guys that need it and some guys
that have it and the only thing they could do
is hurt it. When I was coming out, I was
ranked against the top cornerback, Why would I do drills
that to come back?
Speaker 5 (31:59):
I already one?
Speaker 11 (32:01):
That don't make no sense to me. I'm gonna give
you the sport is just to let you see me
exercise being I'm getting ready to go to the crib.
Travis Hunter is dead. He got three years of superb film.
Speaker 8 (32:12):
You know.
Speaker 11 (32:12):
To his credit, he's playing one hundred of some snap
You ain't every game, you ain't seen it.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Oh, it's good to have Prime back on NFL Network.
Amazing from the Colorado Showcase.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Great stuff there.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Coming up, we're gonna talk about that guy, James Cook.
You wants a big contract. The Phils nowhere close on
that one. Our Jeff Tedia, you're gonna join us to
break it down.
Speaker 16 (32:34):
Next to the Insiders, the Bills have spent most of
their offseason paying their young stars, Christian Benford being the latest.
Not that guy not yet James Cook, who burst onto
(32:56):
the scene in a way that he had always hoped
it always believed he would season for the Buffalo Bills,
yet to get paid.
Speaker 12 (33:03):
Enters the final year of his deal.
Speaker 13 (33:04):
Gentlemenajer Brandon Bean saying they are not close on a
deal and we'll see really if they even get to
one or when they decide to discuss the Jeff TRADEA
welcome to the Insiders.
Speaker 12 (33:16):
Thank you for joining us. Let's talk about James Cook.
Speaker 13 (33:20):
What is going to happen here with the Bills star
running back as he seeks a new contract.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Oh, it's very tricky right now.
Speaker 17 (33:28):
And you know this because this running back class is
so deep coming out in the draft, so Bills have
options there. But James Cook has been an integral part
of what they've been doing in Buffalo the last couple
of years.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
He's been a thousand yard rusher.
Speaker 17 (33:41):
I think he's taken a lot of pressure off Josh
Allen and Josh Allen talked about that last year multiple
times about how important that running game was to him
taking care of the football and feeling better about controlling
the offense and managing the game. So I have a
hard time believing that a guy who wants fifteen million
dollars a year at that position is going to get
that kind of number because we're talking about being in
the category of a Saquon Barkley at Christian McCaffery, Jonathan Taylor,
(34:05):
and I don't know if if he's there yet when
you compound that with what's coming in the draft, he
may have to take a discount.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
I get it's it's stuple. Other guys are getting paid, but.
Speaker 8 (34:12):
He's going to take a discount to stay on this team.
Speaker 12 (34:16):
Or maybe go into free agency.
Speaker 13 (34:18):
Maybe that's where he gets the money, whether it's with
the Bills, and they just got to do it.
Speaker 12 (34:22):
Or with someone else. We've seen that happen.
Speaker 13 (34:24):
In fact, to Saquon speaking of free agency, we'll switch
gears over here. The Denver Broncos and a couple of
big defensive signings in free agency, most notably Dre Greenlaw.
For Broncos fans who are not familiar, what did you
make of this signing and what is his impact going
to be?
Speaker 12 (34:43):
Well, it's huge.
Speaker 17 (34:43):
I mean, I think you look at all their signings
in the offseason, it's a lot of boom or bust,
big swings type additions. But Drake green Law, I think
is the key because you put him in the middle
of that defense. You're talking about Nick Bonito and Jonathan
Cooper on the edges and Patrick Chatann and Riley Moss.
That defense was already no though. And if this guy
can stay healthier, it looked like he was trending in
that direction when he came back from the Achilles tear
(35:05):
last year. He's just going to bring a lot more
to the table. But I love them bringing DJ Jones back.
I think uh Halfunga the safety. If he can stay healthy,
he'll be good for them. And also getting Evan ingram
at tied end. I think Sean Payton is quietly putting
together some pieces that could help him make a run
in the AFC.
Speaker 13 (35:21):
I mean, considering what they did last year, they did
not nearly have the pieces to do what they did
made the playoffs.
Speaker 12 (35:27):
Anyway, this is going to be uh.
Speaker 13 (35:28):
They're gonna be in a much better position to make
the playoffs and events this year. Jeffrey, thank you very
much for joining us as always great stuff. We will
now do something we haven't done all of season. This
is the first time we are going to talk about
Micah Parsons the entire off season.
Speaker 12 (35:45):
No show has done it, including us.
Speaker 13 (35:47):
We are going to do break ground coming up next
time the eaves Stunners will We asked Adam Brak, what
is everybody thinking?
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Adam Rank back with us to tell us what they're thinking.
Let's start with the Cowboys trading for Joe Milton break
What are they thinking? Exactly?
Speaker 15 (36:12):
Dallas, here's the thing. I get it.
Speaker 14 (36:13):
You need a backup quarterback. Cooper Rush is no longer
on the team. But why are you bringing in a
player that all the blog boys are gonna be clamoring
for the first time that Dak Prescott makes a mistake
they're already writing their think pieces. Oh should Joe Milton
be the starting quarterback? Is listen, there was a reason
(36:35):
why Dawson never let Pacey hang out with Joey on
Dawson's Creek.
Speaker 15 (36:40):
You don't bring in the competition like this. So the
Dallas guy, I understand.
Speaker 14 (36:44):
You don't bring in somebody who's gonna be who's gonna
be there trying to usurp your starting quarterback.
Speaker 12 (36:49):
I love Dak Prescott.
Speaker 15 (36:50):
I don't like the way that you're treating it was
the Cowboys.
Speaker 13 (36:52):
What are you thinking, man, Dawson's Creek really bringing me
back to my childhood rank?
Speaker 12 (36:59):
Thank you, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, we're
all old.
Speaker 13 (37:02):
Let's focus in on the Dallas Cowboys Micah Parson's contract situation.
It's not gotten off to a blazing start here with
Jerry Jones going directly to the player, the player said,
actually talk to my agent.
Speaker 12 (37:14):
Let me ask you this. And it's an interesting question.
What are they thinking exactly?
Speaker 15 (37:19):
I don't understand it either.
Speaker 14 (37:20):
And I also don't understand why you were allowed to
watch Dawson's Creek as a child.
Speaker 15 (37:24):
But still that doesn't.
Speaker 14 (37:25):
That's notwithstanding listen, here's the thing, Jerry Jones. You do
a really nice job of.
Speaker 15 (37:30):
Drafting good players.
Speaker 14 (37:31):
I don't think that the Cowboys get enough credit for
how well they draft getting guys like Zach Martin. Michah
Parsons was a eleventh overall pick. Like, they do a
really nice job. But what are you thinking not locking
him off? The price is never going down. This isn't
like going to a concert you're waiting around until the
aquabats start or whatever so you can go in and
(37:52):
buy your tickets late because the scalpers panicking.
Speaker 15 (37:55):
No, the price is only going.
Speaker 11 (37:57):
To go up.
Speaker 14 (37:58):
Stop messing around, and also, don't do the thing where
you pretend like you don't know the agent's name.
Speaker 15 (38:02):
You're not an Internet troll. Go out there and get
this deal done.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
They're asking me if this is the first time we've
mentioned Dawson's Creek on this program. Alex Heismith, the Steelers linebacker,
was an extra in the show as a baby, so
I guarantee we mentioned.
Speaker 5 (38:15):
That at some point.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
They're in the program. R Coe's always happy to bring
it back. Rank Arlington Heights. What's what's the deal with
Arlington Heights. They've got a Stadium potentially being built out there.
The Bears are instead of the Soldier Field and the
city of Chicago proper, what are they began?
Speaker 12 (38:33):
What are they thinking?
Speaker 15 (38:34):
I think it's time that we start getting a deal
done here.
Speaker 9 (38:37):
We get it.
Speaker 12 (38:38):
Every time you got.
Speaker 14 (38:38):
To sit there, you got to pit two cities against
each other. But at some point you got to put
a shovel in the dirt. And everybody knows the Bears are.
Speaker 15 (38:47):
Going to Arlington Heights.
Speaker 14 (38:48):
They owned the land, they can develop the land around it, like,
there's no reason not to go out there and put
the team in Arlington Heights. Our NFL network studios are
outside of Sofi State, not in Los Angeles, in the
suburbs of Inglewood.
Speaker 15 (39:03):
And by the way, so everybody.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
Goes, what do they do?
Speaker 15 (39:05):
What do they do with the lakefront? You know what
you want to do at the lakefront?
Speaker 14 (39:08):
Put the White Sox there because you need to replace
Kimisky Park at some point.
Speaker 15 (39:12):
And by the way, I would like to bring this up.
Speaker 14 (39:15):
A week ago, I was cutting a promo with seth Rawlins,
and I mentioned that the Bears playing a game or
two at Kimiski Park, which the Chicago fans were prayed
to Kommisky.
Speaker 15 (39:26):
They did.
Speaker 14 (39:27):
Chicago had two football teams for the longest time. The
Chicago Cardinals played their home games at Kimiski Party there
for thirty five years.
Speaker 15 (39:37):
Yeah, they played there for a long time forever.
Speaker 14 (39:41):
My dad, who was sitting there in nineteen forty eight,
fresh off the boat from World War Two, couldn't afford
tickets to go see the Bears at Wrigley Field, so
they paid a nickel to go watch the Bears play
the Cardinals at Kimiski Park. So yes, the Bears might
not have been the home team, but they did play
games in Miskey Park. And by the way, don't challenge
(40:01):
me on my Chicago history ever again.
Speaker 5 (40:03):
What are you thinking?
Speaker 15 (40:04):
Don't ever do that.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
The White Sox, with an awful dread all time dreadful
season last year, off to a two and five start
this year, suggesting they move him to the edge of
the lake might not be far enough.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
Of a move there.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
I always appreciate you, man, when they put us on,
when we put you on the show, we never asked
what are they thinking? Eagles fans, they're very angry. One
Eagles fan. I'll tell you if you haven't seen this.
This is an amazing but this is up next on
The Insiders.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
Really taking it far.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
When it comes to a fan of a hated rival,
you gotta stay tuned for this. Colorado Wide receiver. Jimmy
Horn j Andr Friends of the Show, was on The
Insiders the other day ran a four to six four
four six forty at the combine. He said, no, I'm
(40:53):
running again at the showcase. I'm faster than that. Proved
it a four to four to zero today. And then
this probably the highlight of the day after this long
boar fall from Shudor Sanders gets up again hit him
with the flip boom. Jimmy Horn Junior, Congratulations on another
fine showing young man. Welcome back on The Insiders anytime.
Speaker 13 (41:12):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Now, you gotta see this clip. This is amazing because
Eagles fans run out, especially when it comes to Cowboys fans.
This clip right here is Richard Bli, a community activist,
uh talking to the Upper Darby mayor Ed Brown. Upper
Darby's right outside of Philadelphia. He's trying to get abandoned
cars removed from his district and apparently wasn't able to
do so. Check this out right here.
Speaker 5 (41:33):
This is a Cowboys fan.
Speaker 6 (41:35):
This guy follows the Cowboys. Do you see what type
of leadership they have? And that's what you're trusting? Cowboys fan.
Speaker 5 (41:49):
Sick.
Speaker 12 (41:49):
No one's losing their minds.
Speaker 5 (41:52):
Listen. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 6 (41:58):
Get it.
Speaker 4 (41:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (42:01):
I gotta say, there is a whole economy based on
watching small town political hearings or you know, big presentations,
and it is utterly insane and ridiculous. I'm not sure
I've heard anything more ridiculous than that. The only thing
I would say is how does nobody react? I mean,
that was insane. Nobody said a word and then she
(42:22):
just goes thank you.
Speaker 11 (42:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
If you listen, it sounded like there were like stifled
laughs early on, and I'm like, all right, he's gonna
have a nice little chuckle with it. At the end,
he was stone serious, Richard bl dead serious. This guy's
a Cowboys man. Get him out of office. Have a
great weekend, everybody come back for the Insiders on Monday.
More draft than coverage and the news around the NFL.
(42:46):
Thanks Ed,
