Speaker 1 (00:06):
The Justin Fields era is underway with the Jets, which fians.
He's already getting asked by the New York media what
happens and now they draft a quarterback. Hear what Fields
had to say today about expectations as he replaces Aaron
Rodgers in the Big Apple. Rogers you might have heard,
still has not announced his intentions for twenty twenty five,

(00:26):
which means the Steelers have really no choice but to
examine other options. Could Shador Sanders really be in play
for Pittsburgh? We will tell you the latest on an
intriguing pre draft visit. That draft now is just fifteen
days away. It's still unclear who is going to be
the first pure receiver off the board, not including Travis Hunter.

(00:48):
Good thing we've got Brian Baldy here and Bucky Brooks
here to break down the tape on their favorite weapons. Well,
come inside with the insiders along side of Mike Garrifullo
in New and Ian rapaport at a location I've been
told definitively I cannot reveal. I'm Tom Bellisero here in
the NFL Network newsroom in Los Angeles. Let's dive right in,

(01:11):
because we are now down to fifteen days until the
NFL Draft kicks off in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Fifteen, of course,
also the number of pints of blood Brian Cushy lost
right after.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
That photo was taken.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
It's also the fifteenth pick in the draft some years ago.
Justin Fields drafted a little bit higher than that a
few years ago. He is now on his third team,
it's the New York Jets in the building, doing the
offseason program with his new head coach, Aaron Glenn and
talking about the expectations.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
You know, my expectations for myself are you know, higher
than anybody else's, to be honest with you, So something
approved for myself. And again, you know, I think I've
been improving each year I've been to the league, so
I look to do the same this year, to be
honest with you. But like I said, I think my
expectations for my solf for you know, higher than you guys,
is higher than you know, all other people in this building. So,

(02:07):
like I said, I'm excited to get to work and
get things going.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
At this time, we were talking about whether Russell Wilson
or maybe Justin Fields be the Steelers quarterback. Now they
are ostensibly sharing a stadium here, Mike at Mett Life,
you hear Justin Fields in this opportunity. What are the
Jets expectations, their fans expectations for this team.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yeah, first of all, for Justin Fields, I don't think
you can ask for a better opportunity than this, A
team that is going to embrace you as the starter
with no competition or no real serious competition.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
We'll see about the draft.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
He was asked about that today and he said, I
don't want to talk about hypotheticals. So right now, he's
got a clear path to being the starter here with
a team that saw a guy who played well enough
last year to be a starting quarterback, to be a
winning quarterback in the NFL. And the Steelers were really
building this thing up, and you know, we're really going
to start to expand and build on what they had

(02:58):
done earlier in the season. And then Mike Tomlin pulled
the plug there and went to Russell Wilson. So, yeah,
the Jets want to see him do more of that
right there passing from the pocket.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
That was the season opener right there. That was a
heck of a throw that he.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Made there that they dialed up pretty much on the
sideline there, So that shows his ability as a passer,
even with an in game adjustment on a weird week
when he wasn't practicing as the number one quarterback the
entire week because Russell Wilson got hurt. So the Jets
are really confident here that they have not yet seen
the best of Justin Fields, but that they can get
that out of him again.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
And Mike, that's what's so intriguing about Justin Fields is
there are pockets, there are examples, there are highlights where
you're like, this is a starting quarterback in the NFL
just hasn't done it consistently, whether because of injury, we
because of opportunity, whether because inexplicably it gets spence for
Russell Wilson, despite the fact that the team has a
winning record and is absolutely rolling, because Mike Tomlin wanted
to roll with Russell Wilson despite some people in the

(03:50):
building not wanting to do that. Now is the opportunity
for Justin Fields. And to go back to what you
guys were talking about, I do not believe the Jets
will draft your quarterback. Who knows the draft everybody lies,
But I strongly believe the Jets would go the position
player rather than a quarterback. Find it hard to believe
that Fields would have signed there unless he received some

(04:10):
sort of signal that the Jets were not going to
draft a quarterback. So what are we going to get
in New York? At least we are going to get,
barring some sort of injury, we're going to learn whether
or not Justin Fields is a starter in the NFL.
And if the season ends, and that's what we get
for Fields, for the Jets, for the future of the organization,
that is a totally fine outcome for everyone.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
We know for certain, Justin Fields is very dynamic as
a runner. When you look at the statistics relative to
other players at the position, he's been one of the
best six yards per carry. A lot of that damage
done during his time in Chicago. But the same reason
that it didn't work out with the Bears is the
reason that Mike Tomlin ultimately went to Russell Wilson, which
was looking for the consistency in the pass game and

(04:52):
especially downfield, being able to connect with the likes of
George Pickens on the outside our Brian Baldinger was actually
at the Jets facility earlier today.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Baldy, you talked to Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
What are your expectations for that team and specifically for
Justin Fields.

Speaker 7 (05:06):
Well, we didn't talk you know, specifics with Aaron.

Speaker 8 (05:10):
You know, we saw him in the cafeteria, came by,
I said hello, talk to some personnel people though. But honestly, Tom,
I mean, they've got high expectations for Justin Fields, and
they feel like they need to address this draft to.

Speaker 7 (05:21):
Help him out.

Speaker 8 (05:22):
They've got one legitimate wide receiver and Garrett Wilson right now,
who they think is a star. They have holes at
tight end, they have holes that offensive line. They really
feel like, you know, they need to help him out.
They need to give him weapons, they need to build
around him. They've identified him as their franchise quarterback at
this point that he is not going to be challenged.

(05:44):
He's the starting quarterback, and so they want to give
him as much help as possible. And so, I mean,
you can look to the draft, a deep draft that
tight ends, you can look at wide receivers throughout, whether
it's a pick seven or pick forty two. I think
that they will do lot here to try and give
Justin Fields the best opportunity to be successful immediately.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Baldy more from you in just a couple of minutes.
So stick with us here right now. Like I said,
Russell Wilson, justin fields, both in New York, the Steelers
awaiting word from Aaron Rodgers and in the meantime they
are meeting with basically every able bodied quarterback in this draft,
that includes tomorrow Shaduur Sanders, who's also on the Insiders tomorrow.

(06:26):
Cannot confirm or deny whether Schaduor is actually going to
do that. From Mike Tomlins offense, maybe we're going to
get various cameos coming out of Pittsburgh, which would definitely
be the first time on this show that that's happened
this week. Ian when you look at Shaduor Sanders meeting
with the Steelers, is this some message to Aaron Rodgers ors,
they're real genuine interest and even belief that maybe for

(06:48):
a team draft at number twenty one, Shaduur could fall
into their general area and they got to be ready.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
I think the most important thing for the Pittsburgh Steelers
is that they do have to be ready. We can
talk about the Aaron Rodgers factor. That is not nothing. Obviously,
that is a part of it. Every time the Steelers
do anything at the quarterback position, or really just anytime
we mentioned the Steelers name this offseason, we are contractually
obligated to talk about Aaron Rodgers. But really what this
is is Shador Sanders is the draft's biggest wild card, right,

(07:17):
I mean, we simply do not know where he's going
to go. Could he go two, he could could he
go three, he could somewhere else in the top ten,
absolutely possible. If he falls past let's just say three
to the Giants, then anything is on the table. Anything
and everything is on the table. So there's not a
ton of quarterback needy teams in the early teens. So

(07:37):
if he gets within reach, even if the Steelers do
sign Aaron Rodgers, they have to be ready. They have
to have met with him, they have to have done
the homework to say, would we trade up and get him?
Would we draft him if he felt to us? And yes,
this is a little bit of a message to Aaron Rodgers, like,
all right, we need a decision sooner rather than later.
But Rogers is in the future. He would at best
be the present, so that they need to be ready.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Ian's done the show from some weird closets lately. What
do you got donuts on that chair? What's that pattern
you got on that chair? I just he's going away
after this block of the show, so this is my
last chance to really make fun of him. You're done
after this, I heard next siting, So this is my
last chance to take a shot at you.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Yeah, we got Chador on the show tomorrow. Really, I
didn't see that email.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
And I'm realizing as we're talking about it, his schedule
might be a little busy tomorrow. But I'm told, yes,
Chador Sanders is going to be on the show. But
we sold this show to do Mike, So go ahead,
what are your your thoughts?

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Okay, yes, Look, Aaron Rodgers just like you know, when
the Giants were meeting with other quarterbacks and we said,
that's not going to change what Aaron Rodgers decides.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
When it comes to whether or not he wants to
be with the Giants.

Speaker 9 (08:46):
Now.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Eventually, when they signed them, obviously, that was pretty much
the indication that they were moving on.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
This is not going to change.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
I don't think unless he's got something personal with Shador
Sanders or any one of these quarterbacks, what he would
think about joining the Steelers, and he's made it clear
he's willing to be the guy that can mentor a
quarterback in the right situation, the right quarterback that's willing
to accept it. And look, you're seeing him with the
Jets last year physically not the same guy. Hasn't been

(09:13):
the same guy in large part because he's been injured
for sure. But there's a lot of knowledge up there
and somebody's somebody should tap into it. And if it's
the Steelers with a rookie quarterback, whether it's Chador or whoever,
I think that's a good recipe if you're going to
draft a guy there late first round or wherever with
the hopes of potentially him being your franchise quarterback going forward.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Aaron Rodgers also might have some interesting insight.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Off Schadur wants to know what it's like to go
into the draft and know, depending on circumstances, you may
have to sweat this out for a little bit. Trevor
Lawrence did not have to do that when he came out.
He went number one overall to the Jaguars, and a
pick that had been pretty much preordained from the time
the Jets won that game at the end of the season,
he gave Jacksonville number one.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Well.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Trevor Lawrence last season, another frustrating year in Jacksonville led
to a lot of change underwent surgery on his non
throwing shoulder. Here's what he had to say today about
his recovery.

Speaker 10 (10:06):
As far as just right now, I think just kind
of pacing ourselves as OTAs go and working myself up
to where I'm in shape as far as throwing, and
so just the I guess the amount of throws might
be a little lighter to start and work our way
up just until I get really fully back, but I
imagine that and then maybe just some handoff stuff will
be a little limited. But besides that, I think that

(10:28):
won't last too long. So I don't have a you know, Yeah,
I'm throwing, and obviously I'm kind of progressing and working
my way up further distance, more throws, just trying to
be smart and not just jump off the you know
end of the deep end, you know, right away, just
trying to work up to it.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Ian We're three months out from surgery on Trevor's non
throwing shoulder. Certainly sounds like everything's on en Core series.
Working with the new head coach there, Liam Cohen. But
is there anything there with the idea that he'll probably
be ready for week one.

Speaker 6 (10:58):
I listened to it like you did, and I have
not heard that there's any issues with Trevor Lawrence's non
throwing shoulder. If this was a throwing shoulder injury, then
maybe it's maybe the fact that he's not exactly full
go Byota's Maybe that's a thing. I don't believe that
this is a thing. What it sounds to me is
the Jaguars being smart and cautious, of being like, you
know what. While the spring is important, While the learning

(11:20):
process will be important, While him getting acclimated to Liam
Cohen's offense and getting the learning to get the ball
out quick and beyond rhythm and all of those things,
those are all important, the physical part is not as important.
And this seemed to me like a way to deliver
the message, like, Hey, if Trevor Lawrence is throwing as
much as he usually does, that is all right. He

(11:41):
is still on schedule. Spring is important, not nearly as
important as July, not nearly as important as August. Then
of course September is the only thing that actually matters,
is that we don't have to talk about Trevor Lawrence
throwing in training camp, and if he's easy here then
we will probably still talk about it, but only to
say that it's not that big of a deal.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
He Campsill almost six months away, NFL Draft only fifteen
days away, And big news on the pre draft front
for next year. The Senior Bowl is hiring Drew Fabianich
as its new executive director. He replaces Jim Nagy, who
moved on to Oklahoma. This is a guy who's been
around a long time. He was a coach who was
a longtime Cowboys national scout, most recently was the GM

(12:20):
at West Virginia. A really important hire down there in
Mobile for a guy who now takes over one of
the premier events in the pre NFL draft process starting
in twenty twenty six. Coming up a lot more here
on the Insiders, including our roster reset on the NFC East,
What are Jeffrey Chedia's thoughts on how the Eagles reload

(12:42):
for a championship defense? Plus Bucky is back with Baldy.
We got a lot of b's in the next segment
here and hopefully some a list wide receivers, which one
of these guys comes off the board first, will ask
him Baldy and Bucky breaking it down on the inside.

Speaker 11 (13:00):
T Max, let's down, T Mac give him another six.
Oh man, this kid is a boll Oh it's looking
a chuck tip. Look at as McMillin scall I can
it's a.

Speaker 7 (13:21):
Third too steps up in the pocket. He loves.

Speaker 11 (13:25):
He got in a line open. T mack clean up.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
For these highlights, you understand why Bucky Brooks has Ted
McMillan as his number one wide receiver. That top five
list is a star studded list. Several first rounders in there,
maybe as many as four, say about five, maybe as
many as four. I want to dig deeper into these
wide receivers. Welcome into the insiders, Bucky Brooks, Brian Balldinger,

(13:50):
back with us, A Bucky, We'll start with you, Ted McMillan,
T Mac. As they say your number one receiver, tell
me why.

Speaker 7 (14:01):
He reminds me a lot of Mike Evans.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
When Mike Evans into the.

Speaker 12 (14:03):
League coming out of Texas, A and m big body playmaker,
does a great job of winning at the catchpoint, expands
the strike zone for the quarterback, and it's really easy
to see how he's going to have success in the
National Football League one on one situations down the field,
he can take it off the top of defensive backs.
He wins consistently by being able to really use his
length and athleticism to come down with balls. And when

(14:25):
you watch him, particularly down in the red zone, you
see the acrobatic catches over and over and over again.
To me, he is someone that is an easy centerpiece
to put as the number one receiver because he's going
to put the ball in the paint and he's going
to come down with critical catches on third down situations
because of his size and his length.

Speaker 6 (14:45):
Well, I want to go to you now, Matthew Golden
is a receiver I think ran faster than anyone expected
at the combine. Some people think he could be the
number one. How do you see Golden breaking down?

Speaker 7 (14:57):
Well, in a word, Ian, he's a blazer.

Speaker 8 (14:59):
I mean he ran four two nine, that's legit under
a one to five to zero ten yard split.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
That means his takeoff is lick and he split.

Speaker 8 (15:05):
But you know, when you watch the way they used
him at Texas this year and his breakout year in
his third year of playing, they put him everywhere and
they used him everywhere inside outside, in motion. So we
have a little video here of watching Matthew Golden go
about his business right here, like just a super clean
release the comeback right there, because he really sells a

(15:26):
go route well.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
And so here he is just you know, putting that
little move on across the middle.

Speaker 8 (15:30):
He seems pretty fearless and he just wins with his
burse and his hands are excellent one handed catch right
there in the end zone, but you see him constantly
separate and then his adjustment to the ball. Ian is
about as any good as anybody in this draft. And
I know, five to eleven, one hundred and ninety one pounds,
but he adjusts to the ball really well. Kind of

(15:50):
reminds me of when Garrett Wilson was coming out of
Ohio State.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
Got of a fascinating comparison A right Bucky back to
you a Mecca Agbuka. How do you see him breaking down?

Speaker 12 (16:04):
The best way to describe Abuka is he's a pro.
When you watch him, He's polished, he understands timing, patience
in terms of being able to get open. He's consistent
and steady with his past catching, and he is reliable
when it comes to being able to get the first
downs in those critical moments. When you think about the
receivers that have come out of Ohio State over the

(16:24):
last decade, he ranks as one of the top ones.
Just a terrific playmaker in the slot, smooth, efficient, steady yeeddy.
He is going to be a quarterback's best friend very
early in his tenure. I can see him progressing much
like men and their other guys, Jackson Smith and Jigba,
Chris Olive, Garrett Wilson, all of the Buckeyes have come
out and.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Had immediate success.

Speaker 12 (16:46):
I would expect Abuka to follow the same.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
All studs, all studs right there, All right, one more
for you, Baldy. Luther Burden is guy. Teams love his talent.
Got a ton of visits. I know teams are trying
to get more information on him. What are your views
on the Luther Bird.

Speaker 7 (17:02):
Well, first of all, he's very sturdy.

Speaker 8 (17:03):
I mean he's six foot he's torn at six pounds
around a four four one forty, so he's got all
the size and speed you need. He's mostly been used
at Missouri as a slot receiver and you see him,
but you know he's also has the ability just to
get open. And you know, he was the go to
guy at Missouri now over the last couple of seasons,
and so you know they had to put him in

(17:23):
a variety of places. But I thought when I watched
Luther Burden, like his ability after the catch was exceptional.
You watch him on the spray fade right here tracking
the deep ball excellent, and.

Speaker 7 (17:34):
That ability and then to find the end.

Speaker 8 (17:36):
Zone again, the adjustment to the ball in the air,
and they called his number a lot, so they were
depending on him to find a way to get open.
He did, whether it was against man, whether it was
against zone. Getting behind the defense, he constantly did that
little switch route right here, and then just the consciousness
of knowing where the defender is, where to burst, where,
how to find the end zone. Twenty one touchdowns over

(17:57):
is three years there playing for the Tigers. I thought,
this is a guy I kind of wanted to compare
him to Jeremy Macklin when he came out of Missouri
first round.

Speaker 7 (18:06):
Pick of the Eagles a little while ago.

Speaker 8 (18:08):
But at the same time, I think he has the
ability to play outside, but I think he really does
his best work in the slot.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
Fascinating, good stuff, really interesting receiver class. Looking forward to
getting more on this over the next couple of weeks.
More from you guys in this show. Don't go anywhere,
but thanks for now. Bucky involved Brnevelt Prospects. The draft
journey is the most demanding and inspiring job interview process
in the.

Speaker 7 (18:33):
World of sports.

Speaker 6 (18:34):
In a new exclusive series, Enable Media takes you long
for the ride with two exceptional prospects, Dylan Gabriel going
back from Oregon and Luther Burden. And we were just
talking about the receiver from Missouri. Here's a sneak peek
as they embarker on their draft journey in Destination Green Bay,
presented by Toyota.

Speaker 7 (18:54):
Abriel.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
That the grind, the preparation, that's all the fun was.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
A conductive quarterback in FBS history.

Speaker 9 (19:04):
Everything I'll do just shop prove, I'm gonna bed.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
He's gonna be electric and everybody's gonna know his name.

Speaker 13 (19:11):
So good with the ball in his hands, he really
hasn't him yet be in the combine.

Speaker 12 (19:16):
Best players in the country by position, one after another.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
And you gotta put in the time, you gotta put
in the work. And that's what I've been doing.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Roll what.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
They are interviewing for one of the best jobs in
the world.

Speaker 14 (19:32):
We're propping his body for the hardest four month period
is life?

Speaker 13 (19:36):
Any workout what you take for granted, you know it'll
come back to haunt you.

Speaker 11 (19:40):
NFL is now under way.

Speaker 6 (19:42):
This is a night where dreams are made.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
This is what I'm going for.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Once you get drafted, it's game on.

Speaker 6 (19:54):
I mean after that one still a lot to get to,
including our breakdown of the NFCS starting with the Super
Bowl champs, including Cooper Dejean right there coming up next.
I mean, much much more.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Let's show them that's in the world, that's one of
the best.

Speaker 15 (20:20):
That's five fat pup down.

Speaker 16 (20:31):
To side you where to keep you going?

Speaker 13 (20:34):
That I got the dollar way come.

Speaker 9 (20:36):
I tell you against little bit more prown chip cheer
chap in.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
Man, you changed this team.

Speaker 7 (20:52):
You change this team?

Speaker 1 (20:53):
You two months ago today Eagles became Super Bowl champions.
Guess what off season programs are beginning in time now
for a roster re setback on The Insiders, Tom Pill
with Cerah Brian Baldinger, joined now by Jeffrey Chadia, who
has a call him up now NFL dot Com Slash Chadia.
Look at some of the biggest questions surrounding all these

(21:14):
teams heading into twenty twenty five. It's sort right there, Jeffrey.
The biggest question for those Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 13 (21:20):
Well, how are they going to keep that defensive line going.
You know, as much as we talk about the way
they played in that Super Bowl and how they dominated
the Chiefs offensive line, this was not a great pass
rushing team and they lost some key pieces. Milton Williams,
Josh Wett, Brandon Graham, Daryl Mander, Hoy Roseman is a
magician when it comes to the draft, so I'm not
surprised about the possibility of him making some good moves.

Speaker 7 (21:42):
This is a really deep draft.

Speaker 13 (21:43):
But they got a find some help up front because
it's not just gonna be Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis,
Nolan Smith getting ha done, Baldy. They need a little
more help up front.

Speaker 8 (21:51):
They did sign Josh Uche and Azizo Julari, guys that
have had some success in this league because they like
to rotate and keep that line eight deep. But this
is the deepest draft in the defensive line that I've
seen a long long time. Whether they want to spend
their thirty second pick on a defensive lineman right now
that can fit their scheme and replace the Josh Swett

(22:12):
or Milton Williams perhaps, but they're gonna have opportunities in
this draft to find defensive lineman. And one thing they've
done now, jeff they've drafted and they've developed, and they
should continue on with that same strategy.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
A year ago, at this time, we were talking about
the Commanders as a team that's starting over. They're gonna
have a new quarterback, they got a new head coach. Now,
all of a sudden, Jeffrey, the expectations have changed after
a playoff run.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
What's the biggest question in Washington, Well, what.

Speaker 13 (22:36):
Are they gonna do with Terry McLaurin in a new
deal for him because he's in the last year of
his contract and even though he's thirty years old, he's
still a very productive player. He had a two catches
last year and thirteen touchdowns. But this is a stand
up guy, a veteran leader, a go to target for
Jayden Daniels. He's his annual salary. Annual salary is about
twenty three million dollars a year. In a market where

(22:58):
you're talking about elite guys getting thirty forty million dollars
then not to be their baldy, but he deserves a
raise a big time.

Speaker 8 (23:06):
Cliff Kingsbury might be giving some of his money to
Terry McLaren. The way he produced last year. It's amazing,
jeff what happens when you get a competent quarterback and
what happens to production at key receiver positions. McLaren, counting
the postseason sixteen touchdown catches the go to guy.

Speaker 7 (23:22):
You remember the game against Detroit.

Speaker 8 (23:24):
I mean, they couldn't tackle them, they couldn't cover them,
and so I have a feeling that they're going to
work things out to get McLaren taken care of. I
know he wants to be there, he loves playing with Jayden,
and I know they want him there. I think they'll
get it worked out.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
I believe Cliff is still getting paid by the Cardinals,
so they might be able to work something out as
long as they can avoid any type of a salary
cap violation. Jeffrey, how about the Cowboys? A lot of
change there, new head coach, though somebody from the inside
in Brian Schottenneimer.

Speaker 13 (23:49):
What's the biggest question well, you know, forming one, shame
on you for me twice, shame on me. I'm not
following for the what's on a Cowboys going to do
with Michael Parsons deal. I think we all know Michael
park is going to get paid very well by Jerry Jones,
and to me, it's he's going to end up being
the highest paid non quarterback in the league. They're going
to ring this out for all the drama the attention

(24:10):
that comes with it. But when is Jerry Jones not
paid a superstar? And I think you're talking about this guy.
I think he's a better player than Dak Prescott. He's
a better player than Ceede, Lamb and Baldy. There's no
reason to think that Jerry Joe is not gonna take
a lot of pride and making sure Michael Parsons gets
a big payday down the road.

Speaker 8 (24:26):
Well, I mean, they should have done it beforehand. We
know that they should have taken care of him once
he became the dominant player.

Speaker 7 (24:31):
He is in this league.

Speaker 8 (24:33):
Quite frankly, there's nobody else that compares to him in
this whole business, and now he can change the game.
There was a stretch before last year Jeff the Cowboys
three years in a row and Dan Quinn was a
defensive coordinator. The Cowboys had more takeaways than anybody, and
Michael Parson's pressure on the quarterback was a big part
of those takeaways. Look, Max Crossby, you know, the highest

(24:53):
paid defensive player non quarterback, just teams being reset. It
just seems at propos that Micah, the Micah Parsons problem
will be the next reset for the highest paid defensive player.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Meanwhile, for the Giants, tons of changes, specifically at quarterback.
Russell Wilson out there, Jamis Winston now there. They still
got the number three pick, Jeffrey could take another quarterback there.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
What's the biggest question entry in a really pivotal season
in New York?

Speaker 13 (25:18):
Yeah, well, is that quarterback situation going to end up
being a positive for them? Because you're talking about Russell
Wilson being a big personality, You're talking about Jameis Winston
being a big personality. Two guys who were past the
point of their.

Speaker 7 (25:29):
Really good years in the NFL and.

Speaker 13 (25:32):
A quarter a coach in Brian day Ball who's on
the hot seat a GM and Joe Shane who's on
the hot seat.

Speaker 7 (25:37):
It's a lot of things going on there.

Speaker 13 (25:38):
So what I want to see is what do they
do in the draft to find that quarterback, that young
quarterback who can actually be a light at the end
of the tunnel for them, because Baldy, you know, they
got to play football with these guys. But really bringing
hopes this organization is about whoever they're bringing that quarterback.

Speaker 8 (25:54):
I agree with you, Jeff, and I think the signing
of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston took the immediate pressure
of absolutely using the third pick.

Speaker 7 (26:02):
On a quarterback. I don't think they feel that way.

Speaker 8 (26:04):
Right now unless they value that player at three. If
that's the case, then you draft the best player. But
if they don't think the third best player in the
league is a quarterback right now, then improve the roster
and find the quarterback later in the draft. And I
feel like signing the two veterans while they might be
in their twilight, I think it takes all that pressure
off of Brian Dabel Joe Shane of forcing himself to

(26:28):
take a quarterback at number three if they don't feel
that value is.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
There NFL dot Com slash Shedia where you can read
a lot more reset in those rosters in the NFC.
We're going to reset the NFC North in just a
little bit, Jeffrey, So do not move. Baldy, You're back
with us right after this because we're going to dive
a little bit more in on Trevor Lawrence, who's got
another new head coach and Liam cohen that maybe gives
him a different path towards success than he's had in

(26:52):
the patch. Bucky Brooks would be with us as well
right here on the Insiders.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
Trevor Lawrence coming off show surgery and the left shoulder surgery,
so the opposite shoulder going to be in a pitch
count this spring, but expected to be ready to go
in full force by week one. I don't know that
we thought we'd even be talking about that with a
non throwing injury about Bucky Brooks. Brian Balding or here
we are, but again optimism, he should be fine, fully loaded,

(27:18):
locked and loaded for the.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Start of Week one.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Bucky, you know this team in Jacksonville very well, obviously,
Evan ingram out, Diami Brown in Liam Cohenen as the
new head coach and play card. What should we expect
from this Jaguars offense and Trevor Lawrence this upcoming season.

Speaker 12 (27:35):
Yeah, complete makeover, a makeover with the quarterback success being
in my meaning, they want to build around Trevor Lawrence
and the things that he does really well. We're also
building a team that is built on toughness, and every
coach to talk about, oh, we need to be a
tough team in those things, but Liam Cohen has really
emphasized mental and physical toughness and that has to show

(27:56):
up in everything that they do off season program just start.
They're talking about making sure that they're tough enough to
handle the tough meetings when it comes to installing a
new scheme, using new techniques, and doing those things. At
the end of the day, when you look at the
Jaguars the last couple of years, when it fell apart
for them, they were not able to dig themselves out.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
And even though they've moved on from a lot of.

Speaker 12 (28:16):
Players, there's still a nucleus that's there that has to
shake off the bad that has really permeated the organization.
That's where Liam Cohen and the rest of the staff
comes in, not only giving the Jaguars a better plan
for them to improve, but really instilling in them the
confidence the grit and the resilience to be able to
bounce back from the storms that are on the horizon.

(28:38):
If they're able to do that, that is when the
team has an opportunity to go from being a team
that is struggling to a good team to eventually a
great team under this coaching staff.

Speaker 8 (28:48):
Pucky, I like to take a little bit more of
a macro look at what's happened in Jacksonville, starting with
Tony BISSELLI coming in Liam Cohen, Jane Gladstone the new
general manager, and where Liam and Gladstone work with the Rams, because.

Speaker 7 (29:01):
I feel like that's their vision, that's their view.

Speaker 8 (29:04):
Is what the Rams did when they brought McVeigh unless
needed nine years ago, and they took over a four
win team.

Speaker 7 (29:10):
And you know, they made a lot of trades.

Speaker 8 (29:13):
They struck gold in the later rounds, they developed toughness
and developed players through the draft, and I feel like
that's a vision that they can sell to an organization
that's you know, made a lot of changes over the
last few years. And so what Trevor Lawrence needs is
he needs stability and he needs to see a plan.
He needs to see a vision of how he can

(29:35):
improve because that's what has to happen. He has to
play better than he has over the last year and
a half. Obviously the injuries have curtailed him a little bit,
but I believe your toughness is spot on. They could
not run the ball the last two years when they
needed to run the ball. That's always part of Toughness's
let's straight out of Tony Bisselli's book, like, let's get

(29:55):
tougher upfront. Let's run the ball when we have to
run it, and stop relying on on trick plays of magic,
and let's just you know, convert when we have to convert.
I think that's the first sign of toughness, and that
starts with all the things that you're just talking about,
off season training meetings, being there on time, all that
kind of good stuff that happens in winning organizations.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
He said, team is tough. That you bring up Gad Bucky, Yeah,
come Bucky.

Speaker 12 (30:22):
No, it's interesting Tony that you bring up Tony Boselli
and his role in this. And even though you have
three guys that are in this, Glasstone Coin and Tony,
Tony's experience as a Jaguar, Tony being deeply connected to
the franchise as the first pick. Being a Hall of
Famer that is connected to the franchise and seeing all
the things that the franchise has gone through, he certainly

(30:44):
understands that the organization has been most successful when they
were deeply rooted in those things discipline, toughness, physicality, being
able to kind of be a gritty team. And the
people that are now involved in building the team, Glasstone,
lim Coen, the that come in, they all see football
the same way because of that, because of the unity

(31:05):
from top to bottom, that gives them.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
A chance to be able to get back on track.

Speaker 12 (31:10):
And I'm excited about watching them and seeing what takes
place down in Jacksonville.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
Sitting there at fifth overall, you talk about that toughness, Baldi,
you get a chance to get tough on the offensive
or defensive lines right there, especially if the draft goes
one through four, as we think it might so. Jaguars
and an interesting spot there at number five, Bucky Brooks,
Brian Balding here, thank you very much.

Speaker 7 (31:31):
Boys.

Speaker 9 (31:32):
This is what it's all about.

Speaker 6 (31:34):
This is why you're in his profession.

Speaker 13 (31:35):
Man.

Speaker 9 (31:36):
This is as good as it gets sort of playing
when you have talented football players and they are made
of the right kind of stuff. You have a collective
wheel power that you can make the game anyway you
wanted to go. How a boy Dars get his ass.

Speaker 11 (31:51):
Dars got it down.

Speaker 9 (31:56):
They freaking came out and they followed us. But we
fought harder division winners back to back seasons and the.

Speaker 11 (32:02):
Number one seed.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
A whole lot of wins piled up by the Lions
and the rest of the NFC North last season, although
nobody got the end result that they wanted.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Time now to reset.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Those rosters in the NFC North with our Jeffrey Tode
who's going to call him up right now at NFL
dot com slash Jadella as well as our Bucky Brooks
will start right there in Detroit, Jeffrey. They lose that
divisional playoff game, then they lose seemingly half their coaching staff.
What's the biggest question in Motown entering twenty twenty five.

Speaker 13 (32:37):
Well, how are those new coordinators looking? Because they lost
Ben Johnson, and on offense, they lost Aaron Glenn on defense,
they bringing John Morton to replace Johnson, and they bring
in Calvin Shepherd to replace Glenn. And I know there's
a lot of questions about who these guys are and
what they can do, and big shoes to fill. Obviously,
I know this about Dan Campbell, and that's how his
first year there, he knows how to find coaches.

Speaker 7 (32:58):
He had a great staff there.

Speaker 13 (32:59):
We showed up with kind of like Hank Frayley and
Mark Brunell and Antoine Randall l And so I'm not
going to be surprised if these guys come in and
pick up with the other guys left off Bucky. He
has a really good thing going in Detroit. And these
new Coardnators are showing up may not be household named
right now, but they will be good coaches as well.

Speaker 12 (33:19):
Yeah, the coaches established there so they know exactly who
they are and what they want to be. And as
long as Dan Campbell is able to impress upon the
coaches that are playing, that are moving into elevated roles,
how we want to continue to play, how this team
is being constructed and built. As long as they stay
to the blueprint, this team will continue to find success.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
Jeffery, you go back to a year ago, we were
probably talking about, Okay, what are the Vikings going to do?

Speaker 2 (33:40):
How is this going to work?

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Out a quarterback here a year later, what's going to
happen there? Quarterback? How's that going to work out? Jeffrey
imagine that's a pretty big question.

Speaker 13 (33:48):
Yeah, the question is that j J. McCarthy going to
deliver on all this promise? And you know, I was
out there last year for training camp with Mark Ross
and talking to Questiadolpha Mensa and Kevin O'Connell, and they
were raving about JAJ McCarthy, then about the person he
was in Tangibles, the leadership, young guy at the Tommy
He was twenty one when he came into the league,
but certainly has all the athletic ability in the world.

(34:09):
And I know a lot of things have been brought
up in the last few weeks about is he the
QB one. They given him the job as Aaron Rodgers
coming in end of the day. They love this guy
and they expect him to do great things, And especially
at Dolpha Mensi said last week he's met every bench
mark they put in front of him.

Speaker 7 (34:25):
So fucky.

Speaker 13 (34:26):
I know a lot of drought around Minnesota these days,
but this guy number nine, he's gonna be all right.

Speaker 12 (34:33):
Look, I think this was the play in the entire time,
regardless of the injury that kept him from getting on
the field last year. Eventually he was going to take
over this team. And remember the Minnesota vik is our team.
That's not necessarily a quarterback dependent. The talent on the
perimeter is out standing Jordan Addison, justin Jefferson. He got
a talented offense, a lot of running back in Aaron Jones.
His job is very similar to the job that he
had to do in Michigan. Run the offense, be a

(34:56):
game manager, plus make the plays that it had to
be made in critical situations.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
He can do this as a young guy.

Speaker 12 (35:01):
I am not worried about the Minnesota Vikings and their quarterback.

Speaker 5 (35:04):
I think JJ McCarthy's going to be.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
A goal Jeffrey.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
The Packers are a tough out every year when we
get into January. What's the biggest questions they try to
get over the hump here in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 13 (35:14):
Well, will they actually draft a receiver in the first round,
because there's a lot of pressure on them all of
a sudden from.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
You in house pressure.

Speaker 13 (35:22):
Josh Jacob's talking about they need a number one receiver,
and I love their receivement for they have a lot
of talented players, but it is true there is no
go to guy there, and with Christian Watson going down
with that knee injury, there's not a Spurner out there now,
And so you do wonder are they looking to make
that kind of move even though they're drafted later in
the draft. Would a guy like Ted McMillan be there,

(35:44):
another kid who could have speed possibilities. They have to
find somebody, I think who can help them. But again
Bucketing knows it from being there. They can not draft
receivers in the first round. It's been since two thousand
and two since it's happened.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
Jeffery, is that goa happen?

Speaker 5 (36:00):
We talked about this every year.

Speaker 12 (36:02):
I think Javon Walker was the last guy they took
in the first round and that didn't work out and
they went right back to drafting guys in the second
and third round. To me, they are a team that
loves to use the collective to make this offense in
this passing game work. I expect them to continue to
follow suit. The better the quarterback, the lesseners need to
have the established number one receiver. I think they like
sharing the well. That is how they've always operated. I

(36:23):
continue to expect to see them do the same.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Their biggest rivals drafted a wide receiver in the first
round last year and a quarterback down there in Chicago.
So for Caleb Williams, Roma Dunze and company, what's the
biggest question with a new head coach in town with
Ben Johnson?

Speaker 13 (36:36):
Well, how does Ben Johnson taken Kavid Williams game to
the next level? And for me, it's doing the same
things he did in Detroit, which is, you know, build
a strong run game. You saw what they've done as
far as fit and see with the offensive line. I
think they're probably taking offensive lineman in the draft. You
talk about the run game, They've got DeAndre Swift. I'm
sure he's going to look for somebody to pair with
Swift in the same way he had Jamier Gibbs and

(36:58):
David Montgomery. And ultimately it's going to make it easier
for Kayleb Williams not trying to do too much. I
think you look at the way Jery Golf played in
that system. He knew he could play within himself. If
Kleb Williams does that, Bucky, he will be really good
in the year two.

Speaker 12 (37:14):
Yeah, The big thing is make sure that Kayleb Williams
plays within the structure of the offense.

Speaker 7 (37:19):
Ben Johnson has been known.

Speaker 5 (37:20):
To coach quarterbacks hard.

Speaker 12 (37:22):
What they were able to establish in Detroit with Jerry
Golf was, look, you are a talented player, but remember
it's everything around you.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
That makes it go.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
I'm gonna make sure that I'll put you in a.

Speaker 12 (37:30):
Place in a position to be successful, but you gotta
stay within the script, within the confoundes of the office.
If Kavith Williams is disciplined, patient, and stays within the
structure of the office, the Chicago Bears will see it
on the office and ultimately they'll succeed as a team.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
Bucky Jeffrey, thank you very much a lot more NFL
dot com slash chidiya for the full roster reset series
coming up on the Insiders. Bill Belichick is now at
North Carolina. Bill Belichick, believe it or not, was miked
up recently the tate You do not want to miss this.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
It's next on the Inside. Bill Belichick now.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
The head coach at the University of North Carolina High
MICU a big move into the college. The college ranks
at least for the moment here in Bill. He's always
been a fan of the behind the scenes type shows.
Guess what he's getting miked up, and we've got the
footage one on one motto.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
We got to get the gloves on these guys. It's
holding on every play usually twice.

Speaker 11 (38:39):
Hey, good route, that's the right idea.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
It's close you.

Speaker 5 (38:44):
Y'all want to split safeties. Yeah, we hit him in
the huddle.

Speaker 7 (38:47):
We hit them here. At least we're throwing the ball
the right place, sucking down.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
We're live. Tackle in front, tackle in front. This isn't live.

Speaker 10 (39:00):
Live tackle in front, stay out the quarterback, hold.

Speaker 14 (39:02):
On the edge, and this you don't want to take
it on the side.

Speaker 7 (39:05):
No, we know you've got to get on the sideline.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
Tag off, tag off, stay out the quarterback, tag off
on the runners.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
This is not live.

Speaker 11 (39:14):
This is not live.

Speaker 5 (39:15):
But we're competing here.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
You got a lot of pressure anyway, Just clear them.
I'll clear them all right. Here we go, burnt down,
hold on Fredy four seconds.

Speaker 7 (39:28):
We'll put it on the nine.

Speaker 11 (39:36):
Called Bobby. You're getting those.

Speaker 6 (39:38):
You're getting a lot of those, like damn near every
call you makes a good call, I'm telling.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
You, academy, so.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
Scene see, then we hit opposite the location, then we.

Speaker 12 (39:55):
Hit aut in cut, and then we hit a That's
how you move the ball down the field.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
You got to hit some of those plays.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
And look we were still thirty seconds left on the clock.

Speaker 11 (40:06):
All right, nice shop, nice shop.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Well it's the next.

Speaker 10 (40:09):
Play we hit and then cut.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
That was the last play we hit.

Speaker 11 (40:13):
Man, Go guess that's.

Speaker 6 (40:14):
How you move the ball.

Speaker 11 (40:15):
You got to hit some of those plays.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Since a lot quieter over there on defense, when we
make a few plays, that's how we shut them up, right,
we shut them up by making some positive plays.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Still a little jarring watching Bill Belichick.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
We're in the Carolina blue there, dare I say them, Mike,
after watching three minutes of micd up is Bill Belichick
becoming a positive reinforcement guy now?

Speaker 7 (40:39):
Could be?

Speaker 4 (40:40):
Must have been all that time spent in the media, Tom,
I know that that sometimes has an impact on folks.
The argyle behind him also jarring as well. Although that's
awesome when they put it in the end zones and
they use the argyle, it's a good addition to the wardrobe.

Speaker 5 (40:55):
He should work in a little more.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Then.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Jeremiah's got his top fifty Prospects four point zero now
at NFL dot Com, fifteen days out from the NFL Draft,
years a look at.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
The top ten.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
This number one player remains Abdul Carter, who is the
latest subject of heyworking.

Speaker 7 (41:16):
My dad was my trainer, like training my whole life.

Speaker 14 (41:19):
Had a weight room in a living room, running on hills,
making sure I met my best at all times.

Speaker 16 (41:27):
Abdual Carter's dad didn't just have him pumping iron and
running the hills in Pennsylvania. He had some unique ideas too.

Speaker 14 (41:37):
I used to like running around the block with like
a weight on my on my head, stuff like that.
Just you did a lot of crazy things.

Speaker 13 (41:44):
Shoot, that was good.

Speaker 14 (41:48):
Don't don't drop at the paper and good a dad,
don't jop I go to the paper.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
That joint man.

Speaker 14 (41:55):
Chillie born and raised, he was saying former he was
fan now going to the jab Rouge drafts was my team.
But I really got locked in on defense in high school.

Speaker 16 (42:04):
From picking up guards to pushing back guards, Carter made
football look as easy as pumpkin pie, drawing the attention
of major college programs.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
From picking up gorge, the pushing back guards might be
one of the better lines put that right up there
with you, the Autumn Winds Raider Mike. For every one
Abdua Carter's dad, there's probably a thousand other dads who
have weird ideas about up.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
But shout out ab Duel Carter's dad. This one seems before.

Speaker 5 (42:31):
I just imagine the size of the pie.

Speaker 7 (42:34):
Tom.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
That's what I'm thinking the whole time there.

Speaker 4 (42:37):
Yeah, whether it's tires or giant pumpkins, whatever.

Speaker 5 (42:40):
You have to do to gain that natural strength.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
I do love the fact that he's like Eagles fan,
hold on, hold on not anymore.

Speaker 5 (42:47):
Wherever I get drafted, that's where.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
Because he may wind up being within the division as
he's visiting the Giants this week and some other teams,
that I'll wind up playing the Eagles as well. So
Abduall Carter gonna be fascinating to see where he lands.
I don't get the sense that the foot issue is
going to be a major concern there with any team,
so I'll do.

Speaker 5 (43:03):
Carter expected to go early in the first round.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Now, her name we could here called early Chador Sanders.
We know this, visiting the Steelers tomorrow. Now he's popping
in on us, Chadour Sanders on the insiders Tomorrow night.
He fun kicks off at seven pm Eastern Time. For Mike,
I'm tom see that
