Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow, Hey everybody, It's Monday, October twentieth, twenty twenty five.
Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Show where we apparently
have to lie to kick it Smith your man named
g Marcus Grant, joined by Michael Florio and Lakwan Jones.
(00:21):
Happy Monday, fellas. Hey Mariy, you had a nice repriview.
You actually were out in the you know, out in
the world this weekend, though, weren't you.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
How was your weekend?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
It was awesome man. Shout out to Ray and Jess,
my best friend. I got to fly out. I flew
out Thursday night, right after Thursday Night football and I
was back in LA before ten am kickoff Sunday morning,
like quick trip. I watched the Rams in London on
my flight, so like I didn't miss football, but uh,
(00:51):
I was very tired yesterday, but it was worth it, definitely.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
I get my see now, I didn't. I didn't know
that you got back so early. I mean, you were
like interacting in the text chat and I thought it
was just because you like pay for the Wi Fi
on the flight or so.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
So the options of flying home were either six am
Sunday morning or eleven pm Sunday night, and I was like, no,
we're doing six am. So I actually didn't go to sleep.
I was at the wedding the whole time. The wedding
end after party ended at one, and then it was me,
Nicolette and the bride and groom. We were the last
ones to go to bed. I think we went to
bed at like two thirty. And I was like, yeah,
(01:27):
I'm just showering and we're driving to the airport now,
Like I'm not.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
I'm not going to bed for an hour. It's not
worth it.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, because either either you lay there for an hour
and get no sleep, or you oversleep and then it's
a complete disaster like those those only two options.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
And I was right, you know, you get that high
at the energy. I was like, I have to ride
this out, and I will crash.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
At the airport. I completely understand. I think we've all
been there at some point. I had another topic that
I wanted to start the show with. I had something
in mind. I was gonna, you know, I was going
to tie things back to show. Hey, Otani, tie it
into Travis Hunter. I'll just do a whole thing until
we started talking, just random chit chat before the show,
(02:08):
and we were talking about running and running full speed,
and I joked that, you know, La Kwan said he
could run a four six forty, to which you told us,
how fast do you think.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
You can run the forty?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Lakwan?
Speaker 4 (02:21):
Like four five five? Like I'm up there almost for six,
like Bro, we could time it, we could do it.
And what was the other thing you said immediately after that?
I haven't ran full speed in years. Look, I haven't
ran full speed since I played like pickup soccer for
Merca County. If you know, you know man, And look,
I honestly think I was like twenty six twenty seven
(02:41):
last time I ran, like absolute full speed with determined purpose.
But like Bro, like I ain't The knees ain't working
how it was before, Bro, And I can admit that
I'm up there in age now where my body ain't
working like how it was in the mid twenties. I
ain't wash. What do you think you were running in
the mid twenties?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Then?
Speaker 3 (02:59):
If you think now, without running and with broken down knees,
you're gonna run a four to five?
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Four or five is highest?
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Like four to six? I think I could still do it.
If you guys are like down to like line it up,
like I will be motivated, give me a week.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Sure, we absolutely will, but let's go. It's so fine
and see if don't let us on the field to
do it even like we can, we can, you know
the content man, But no, what what so like at
your prime? Then if you can run four five? Now
what I would say?
Speaker 4 (03:28):
I was like clean, like four five like probably touching
almost four four nine, Like that's how fast I was.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Going to go. So you're telling me in all the
years since, you've only lost like not even like like
a hundredth of a second, like five hundredths of a second.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
A kind of kind of I'm motivated now to prove wrong.
Like that's just like how I kind of thrive off
the craft, Like this is how you sharpen the sword.
This is everything that I want to prove to you
guys that I can run a four four six. I
love you. You you are the dude.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
I'd bring this story up a lot, Marcus, where I
was playing basketball one time with random dudes and the
kid was like, I'm the lockdown defender and his friend
was like, who's someone you think you could lock up?
And he with a straight face said Kyrie Irving. That's
the energy right now.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
No, no, Kyrie with the handles, Big Jersey never happeneding, No,
I can't lock out Kyrie.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I'm just I'm looking, I mean like I'm looking at
this year's combine, right, So these are the guys like, uh,
let's see. Woody Marks was a four to five to
four pretty fast.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Caleb Johnson was a four to five to seven. I
can dust him there you go, stop right there. I
could dust him four seven, I could dust I could
ust him four five, four, five to seven.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
I mean, based on what you've been saying, you guys
are our neck and neck. That's a photo finish, Yeah,
if we are, if we are taking you at your word,
four five seven is a photo finish with you and
Caleb Johnson, Bro's ended up. Nick Nash was a four
to five to seven. I'm just I'm like looking here, like,
who's oh okay? Your boy cannot say Momfield right his
(05:03):
FIRSTFL touchdown, shout out to him, caught his first NFL
touchdown on today. He was a four five nine at
the combine. So you're telling me that you are going
to like that, Sean McVay should make you the wide
receiver three. Is that what you're telling me right now?
Speaker 4 (05:17):
That should be kicker number two. I should be wide
receiver six. Okay, because I'm not going to disrespect Xavier Smith,
Jordan went into and everybody else on the depth chart,
I could be the wide receiver six or seven. Put
me out there on put return.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
And this is this is this before or after you
fight a kangaroo?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
All right?
Speaker 4 (05:34):
First of all, that's a whole different subject. Okay, now
we're going so left field now now the kangaroo thing.
But they're both the same premises.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
The man, it's not, no, it's not. We need a
whole segment called la Quan's Tales of Awesomeness. That's what
we need on this show.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Oh, I actually like that.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Lakwan is always like, when's the last time you ran
as fast as you can? And I'm like, I don't know,
a week ago, and He's like it's been years for me.
But yes, like you know, you think that same speed
is just locked away and hasn't gone anywhere.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Confidence builds, man, it is definitely one of those things.
I think I could prove that I can still run
pretty damn past.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Speed is not like a jar of peanut butter. You
don't just pick it up off the shelf and just
take it still good.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
It doesn't work that way.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
I'm gonna give myself a week to stretch, get conditioned,
and we're gonna seriously do this guys a week week,
give me a week, give me a week, give me
ten days for months, ten days.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
You're you would if Pros Versus Joe's was still around,
you would be the perfect candidate for that.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
Show, such a good show on Spike TV, because you
would walk up to.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Like Brian Scalabrini and be like, yeah, I could dunk
on you, and.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Like it would be great. I mean Celtics legend, by
the way.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
I feel like there was there was one with like
Michael Irvin, like somebody challenged Michael Irvin or something like that,
or somebody challenge like you know, I can't remember what
running back it was, but got it just got run over.
We need this back. We walked what we will legitimately
have to figure out something just a weekend.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
We should do an NFL network one and have like
former players race laquant.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
NFL Network combine. Yeah, so it counts Chris Shotton when
we interviewed in Florio. Leg I was like, I'm down. Yeah,
that's Wild's wild. He's one of the fastest humans of
all time. Yeah, I know I was not gonna win
that chase this guy. Yeah well, I was like, yo,
you thok at Cheto is fast.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Get Ready, we gotta we gotta make this happen for sure.
We're gonna work on this. I'm we gotta start emailing,
texting whoever, whoever we gotta do to to make this happen.
For sure.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Nice camera action, baby, let's go.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Let's do this. Let's do this. We got a lot
to talk about. We are at the midway point of
the fantasy regular season. I know there are still two
more games on Monday Night, but essentially halfway point of
the fantasy regular season. I figure this is a good
time to a redraft, right, Like, if we were going
to redo the first round of the draft, knowing now
(08:06):
what we do know, how would things go. Obviously there'd
be some guys that wouldn't that were in the first
round that wouldn't make it in this time. There are
some guys that probably were second third round picks that
probably slide up. So we're gonna do that. A little
bit also talk some quarterback stuff and a little bit
of a rage drops who are we just absolutely fed
up with and we were like, it's it, it's done,
I can't do it anymore. I'll have that and some
(08:28):
waiver wires talk as well. But we have some fantasy headlines,
some interesting things, especially quarterback related. In fact, it's gonna
be kind of a quarterback heavy show. It was not
intended to be that way. It just sort of worked
out because that was kind of the big news of
the weekend. But Jaden Daniels suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday.
Marcus Mariota came in took over against the Cowboys, the
(08:51):
Commanders getting thumped pretty good at that point. Also, they
were playing without Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel, which definitely
doesn't help. Daniels expected to get and mri on the
hamstrings to see how severe it is.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
But Kaun, let's say.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
He can't go and it's Marcus Mariota that ends up
getting a start for the Commanders. Can he sustained this offense?
I mean, look, if McLaurin and Deebo come back, are
you comfortable starting either or both?
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Of those guys, Terry maybe not. So we haven't seen
much of him this season, you know. I mean he
only got three games in and his best game was
like thirteen Fantasy points, So not really like turned on
from him, putting him so roshly back into starting lineups.
But Deebo, Yeah, because we've seen Marcus Mariota be a
serviceable quarterback and like he fits so well for the
Commanders if Jane and Daniels ends up getting hurt, so
(09:39):
he's still able to be the mobile quarterback. He's still
able to hit the check downs, even some of the
deep balls he was able to hit. So I think
guys like Luke McCaffrey they have to step up a
little bit more, you know. And then obviously Chris Moore
popping up on the scene like he's probably going to
be a hot waiver wire ad and moving forward if
Deebo ends up missing more time. So I think Mariota
goes into that category of how we look at the
(10:00):
Joe Flaccos, the Andy Dawns that we'll probably get to today,
like these are the guys that are just serviceable that
can really dish it out to your wide receiver one
or two but who takes the biggest hit is zach
Ertz because Mariota hasn't connected very well with zach Ertz
in terms of Fantasy of like where you have Jayden Dames,
where it's automatic, you already know they're in the red zone,
they're in striking distance. Ertz is likely going to get
(10:22):
some of those targets.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Wild thing about zach Ertz, I mean, obviously he's had
a pretty good season so far, especially in Fantasy. Three
of the top eight Fantasy tight ends right now come
from the NFC East. Yeah, Jake Ferguson at one, Dallas
Goddard at four, and zach Ertz right now sitting at eight.
They don't have any analysis other than it's just wild.
(10:44):
I was waiting for the punch man. It's just there's
just a thing I noticed, Like it's wild. We didn't
predict this, right, I mean, sir, we thought Ferguson gonna
have a decent season. I didn't think he'd be tight
in one right now. Not sure where the hell Dallas
Goddard has come from. Same with zach Ertz. Just it's
just happened. So yeah, that's that. In New York, the Jents,
the gents, the Jets benched Justin Fields after just not
(11:08):
being great in the first half in Florida. That's now
two games in a row for Justin Fields that have
been an absolute struggle. Previous week, we were like, well,
it was the Broncos. It was a tough matchup. You know,
we always sort of thought that was in the realm
of outcomes. This week was supposed to be better than
last week, and it really wasn't. He had one more
(11:32):
passing yard than he did against Denver. He had nine
less rushing yards. Granted this was in like a half
versus against the Broncos being a full game. To this point,
Aaron Glenn has not committed to a quarterback for next week.
What is your concern level with Justin Fields at this point.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
It's got to be pretty high because they haven't committed
to him. Again, I will say, like, look, he's not
playing great football by any means right now. He's holding
onto the ball too long, he's taken too long to
go through his and stuff. But at the same point
in time, the Jets are doing everything they can to
make life as difficult as possible. Like coming into this week,
it was fifty percent of the time the Jets quarterbacks
(12:10):
have been under pressure, every other team is forty percent
or less. Like that is just simply unsustainable to have
any success in this league. And I tweeted it yesterday,
like Taylor came in and until late in that game,
he was also struggling and like he threw a pick,
he was getting under pressure constantly. So like, I don't
think the offense suddenly gets a lot better. Maybe he
(12:31):
gets a little bit more efficient passing wise, but then
you lose that rushing element that justin Field Springs because.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
Taylor's still mobile, but he's not a runner like Fields.
But I'll say this, look, whichever one of those two
is the starter, and I'm gonna guess that it's going
to be Fields again. But I think they're in play
next week because they get the Bengals. That is a
team that if you watched last Thursday night and the
icy hot ball as cam Ward was calling it, they
(12:58):
were able to get literally no pressure sure on Aaron
Rodgers without Hendrickson out there. So I think whichever Jets
quarterback starts, not only are they in play next week,
but I would say they are the top streaming option,
Like I'm using them over Mariota, Dalton, Rogers.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Panics, any of those guys that you might be considering.
With six teams, I'm buying.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Yeah, So it's funny. I you know, it starts. I
always start putting together my list of sleepers potentials for
the next week. I do it on Sunday. And one
of the things I always do is, especially when it
comes to picking sleeper defenses, I'm like, all right, who's
playing the you know, who's playing the Bengals, who's playing
the Titans? Whatever.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
I was like, who's playing you know, who's playing there?
Who's playing the Jets?
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Right, because they're another one that they give a lot
of sacks, a lot of turnovers?
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Like who's playing the Jets? And I was like, oh,
the Bengals. I can't.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I can't in my right mind right that the Bengals
are a sleeper defense. Yea. And I'm like, I can't,
I can't do that. And it's like now, same with
the Jets. It's it's kind of a mess. So when
I was thinking about this too, and you can tell
me if I'm just you know, being extra right right now,
you're being extra.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I didn't mean just yet.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
I just wanted to say, first, I had this feeling
this morning that if the Jets decide to bench justin
Fields that at that point he is immediately droppable. And
I say it because one, if they're going to if
they're going to go to if they're gonna go to
Tyrod Taylor, right, They're not immediately going back to fields. Like,
(14:28):
I don't think this is going to be like the
Colts playing roulette with you know, Anthony Richardson and Joe
Flacco last year, right, Like, I think if they make
the move, it's gonna be for a while, at least
barring an injury. And I'm looking at the schedule. Yeah,
they got the Bengals this week, but then they're on
by then they've got Cleveland, then they go to New England.
(14:49):
You know, they're at Baltimore, which you know, I don't
know if the Ravens defense will have improved. By then,
They've got Atlanta, who can be pretty tough on quarterbacks.
That gets you through Week thirteen, which point your fantasy
regular season is essentially over.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
I mean again, maybe.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
I'm just being a prisoner of the moment LQ, but
it just feels like if it ends up being Tyrod
Taylor's job that you can immediately just say goodbye to
Justin Fields.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Truck it up.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
It's over.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
It's a dobe.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
I wouldn't even like try to even like prolong it
after the bye, to just get it done with now,
because I do think like if you hold on too
long to Justin Fields, like those options on the wire
to even pivot or even if you have a QB two,
they're probably not as great as Justin Fields, like as
the upside that you drafted him from. So you're probably
in a quarterback situation right now where it's like Justin
(15:39):
Fields isn't going to help you beyond this week. So
if he is truly benched, it's like immediately just reactionary,
I need another quarterback right now.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Yeah. I also think that if he gets benched, that
that pretty much seals the deal of him as a
starting quarterback in the NFL. That maybe he hangs around
the league as a backup.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Which is unfair because it's the and it's like the
old line and the lack of weapons outside of garre Well.
So like Mason Taylor's fine, but it's like he doesn't
have this collective group here for when he can actually
move forward as he starting quarterback, like he's been in
terrible situations. I thought Pittsburgh was like the best situation
for him to grow, Like he should have got that
(16:18):
contract with them in my personal opinion. But going to
the Jets, it's like it's the guy Jets, Like what
do you expect? Like it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
I mean, yeah, it's hard because like Chicago, the Chicago
years were frustrating. Then in Pittsburgh he started well and
they immediately replaced him with Russell Wilson and then, as
you mentioned, he's with the Jets now. So I know
it hasn't been a great start, but also he hasn't
done a ton, but.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Let's put out positive energy.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
I know on the fields guy here, but if he
starts this week, he could easily go off and then
I think he's the.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
Starter for the foreseeable future.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah, so I mean we'll see.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Obviously, Aaron Glenn says to this point, he has not
made a decision. We will know as we get further
on into the week.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
And it felt very.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Glenn was asked all week about it, and it felt
kind of like a Okay, here, I'm giving you what
you asked for.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Kind of bench like leave me alone, yes, is your answer.
It didn't look better with Tyrods did not look better
with Tyrod. Bryce Young helped the Panthers to win over
the Jets this past week, but he also left the
game with an ankle injury. Right now, they're saying it's
a high ankle sprain. Looks very doubtful for him to
(17:30):
play this week against the Buffalo Bills. High ankle sprains
usually bad news. A lot of times. It does me
in a couple of weeks on the shelf at a minimum.
So lakwan if if Bryce Young can't go against the Bills,
and maybe beyond that, can you trust Ted Ro McMillan
with Andy Dalton? Can he do for Canedy don't do
(17:51):
for Ted Roll McMillan what Joe Flacco has done for
say T Higgins.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
Yeah, I think so because two things that are happening. Now,
you get a veteran makes quicker decisions. He's not going
to hold onto the ball as long as Bryce Young does.
Trying to process where these guys are going to be Like,
at least Andy Dawn could walk up to the line
and be like, oh, I know what coverage just is?
I know where that guy's going to be. I know
who's going to be open. That doesn't really like sit
with Bryce Young yet because he's still in those developing stages.
(18:17):
So if you even look at their yards for attempt
it looks like six point one is where Young is
at and then Dalton six point four if you go
back to twenty twenty three. So being able to get
the yardist from Teturo McMillon that we're honestly looking for
the same thing that Joe Flacco did for t Higgins
where I said he can have those four to five
games with eighty to one hundred catches and the touchdown.
(18:38):
That's how I think Tetro McMillan gets this boost now
with Dalton, where we might see more yardage, we might
see more scoring opportunities for this offense. So I'm actually
excited for it.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
I mean like I feel like, again, you get a
veteran quarterback in there. That guy sort of knows where
the playmakers are and who they are and how to
get them the football. So maybe that is a positive
for a guy like McMillan, who you know very quietly
he's having a nice rookie season. Maybe not getting the
headlines of saying to Mecca Abuka.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
But you know he's playing really well.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I think under the circumstances, did anybody get bownixed yesterday,
either of you?
Speaker 4 (19:15):
I had bo Nicks, I had my phone away in
one league. I was like, yep, I lost, It's over.
And then I'm looking at the fourth quarter, I'm like,
hold up, now, my boy cooking. I best believe I'm
a big bowliever. He gonna turn up for me.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
He did. I love that nearly forty points yesterday. A
couple of rushing touchdowns in that big fourth quarter comeback,
the Broncos rally with a thirty three point A thirty
three point fourth quarter is really an insane number. Yeah,
I mean, Ali, the Giants they were, I mean the
(19:48):
Broncos were still down eighteen with what like six six
and a half minutes ago something like that, and ends
up coming back to win. Should have known, right that,
on the day they honored Damarius Thomas in the Ring
of Honor, that the Broncos win on an improbable comeback,
because like the whole time I was thinking, I'm like,
it's like Damarius Thomas day, right, Like the first thing
I thought of was him catching a pass from Tim
(20:10):
Tebow and going the distance in a playoff game against
the Steer, right. I mean it's like, so, of course,
of course the Broncos do something ridiculous, and when on
the day they're celebrating the Marius Thomas, it absolutely made sense.
But we'll get to that. I'll get that a little
bit later in the shows. We're gonna talk some quarterbacks
because I also want to talk about the Jackson Dart
(20:31):
side of things too. But just a phenomenal, phenomenal game
to watch. It was a lot of fun. Probably a
lot more fun if you weren't a Giants fan, but
for those of us, those those who didn't have a
specific rooting interest in the game, it was really really
entertaining to watch down the stretch in that fourth quarter.
All Right, I take a break, come back, we're gonna
do our mid season redraft. Figure out who is the
(20:53):
new one dot one or maybe it's the same one,
dot oh one. We got that plenty more coming up
on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. So let's sounds like
a good point in the season to go back and
maybe reevaluate some things, right, I mean, we've played almost
seven full weeks of the NFL season, We've gotten the
(21:14):
feel for how offenses are working, which players are playing well,
who maybe has led us down fantasy wise, So that
seem like a good time to go back and do
the draft again the first round. Twelve teams will go
in order be Laan than Florido than me. We'll do
the draft to the first round obviously, you know sort
of draft like they're that you've got four different teams
(21:37):
as opposed to like I want this guy in. This
guy so Lakwan gave you the honor of being the
number one overall pick in our redraft. Who are you
taking there?
Speaker 4 (21:45):
I think we talked about it all summer. It could
be this, it could be that, but Bijon like, I'm
not going anywhere else outside than one on one. It
has to be Bejon Robinson because honestly, this is a
season that we kind of were saying that if they
get him activated, they get him the ball and open
and get him involved and everything else that they talked
about this summer from the b right, it's just like
he's going to explode for this type of season. So
(22:07):
I think no brainer here that he should be the
one on one.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Yeah, I think that's hard to argue against that. The
way he's played so far, no problems there at all. Floria,
who's taking at number two? I would have took this
guy at number one. To be honest, give me Jonathan Taylor.
I think Jonathan Taylor should be the MVP.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
In the NFL right now.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Ooh, I know it's gonna be either Baker or Mahomes
it's looking like, but Jonathan.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
Taylor is that Colts offense.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Like Daniel Jones is playing really well, but everything starts
because of Jonathan Taylor and how fearful like defenses are
of him gashing them, and then he just goes out
there and gashes them. And if you have him in fantasy,
he's probably single handedly won you numerous weeks because he
has four games with twenty nine point five or more
(22:53):
Fantasy points like that is off the charts of efficient
and he has no games with less than twelve, so
floor is super safe, the ceiling is super high. I
think he right now is uh again? Should I I
think should be a top three m VP candidate.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
All right, Okay, so we got vjon number one, Jonathan
Taylor number two.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
I'm gonna keep the running back train.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Going seriously like, oh, I'm sorry, you heard me, I
slipped back to hear me. You are sitting in front
of a microphone. It is an amplophonic sonic glice. I'm
making up.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
But Christian McCaffrey, I mean, you're we're.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
Talking about the year right now.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Like, the number one scorer in all of fantasy football
right now is Christian McCaffrey. And like, yeah, we came
into the season like, well, what if he gets hurt. Yeah, man,
that applies to every single player in the NFL. Weirdly,
he's been the one forty nine er that hasn't gotten
hurt this year. He has done everything. It is absolutely
(23:55):
wild wild, you know. I mean he's running the football effectively.
That actually started to get the running game going, which,
by the way, we were all excited about George Kittle
coming back. George kill did not catch a pass on
Sunday night and still might have been the most valuable
player on the field from forty nine ers because that
run game looks so much better with him there. But
on top of it, McCaffrey, you know a ton of
(24:17):
receiving yards as well. I mean, he is sixth in
the NFL in receiving yards sixth overall, like not among
running backs, like amongst everybody has done everything for this team,
has stayed healthy, looks like the centerpiece of it. Yeah,
maybe injury comes later, but so far it hasn't. So
getting him at three I will, I'll gladly take it.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
I know, as of two weeks ago, he had the
most touches and someone his age through that many games,
and all you guys have done is given him like
twenty eight touches per game since.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Then, because who else is there to get.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
The ball to that? But it just worries me. You
guys traded for Brian Robinson, that's who, Like, what was
the point of that?
Speaker 2 (24:57):
And they are thinking he used Brian Robinson. He gets
you know, he gets some every once in a while.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
He ran, he ran pretty well against the Falcons on
on Sunday night. But they also realize that, you know,
especially with Kittle hurt, with Juwan Jennings banged up, with
Ricky Piersol still hurt, their best chance to win is
putting the ball in number twenty three's hands as many
times as possible. I mean, it's just what it is,
all right. So we got three, Uh, Lakwan back to you,
(25:22):
do we finally get a wide receiver off the board, Yes,
poking the cool Yes, the one on one that I
was screaming about early and you know, the seasons before
the draft, and then obviously my opinion changed that he
can't be the one on one with Adams there.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
But it seems to be that he's proven everybody wrong.
He is literally the west best wide receiver in the
league right now, even though he's banged up right now,
I think he's going to come back, keep momentum and
then he ends up being the wide receiver one overall.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Yeah, I mean, obviously made sense for him to set
out this week going to London. You got to buy
next week, you know, just on the side of caution.
But he's been he's been incredible so far this year.
All right, So we got one wide receiver off the board.
Where you go at number five, Floria, the.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
One oh one from the start of the year, give
me Jamar Chase. Like, if you look at the last
three games twenty nine, twenty five, thirty eight, he has
twenty five or more and four of his last six games.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Week one was a dud with Joe Burrow because the
Bengals always come out slow. Then it was a little
bit of an adjustment period after they lost Joe Burrow.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
But the last three weeks it's been with Browning and
with Flacco. It does not matter.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
If you give Jamar Chase opportunity, he is going to
come through, uh because I think he is the best
wide receiver talent walking the planet.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Personally. Wow, I mean, bros. That's it's a hard thing
to argue against.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
It's Timmer Jefferson.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
I so you can put jeff Justin Jefferson in the conversation.
I think you can put a Puca's not in that conversation.
You put Puka, you can put healthy ceed Lamb.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
I think Puka's very good and for fantasy I could
see him being the wide receiver one. But for real
life talent, I think Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase you
could put in any scheme putting.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
But I see what you're doing for real.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
No, I'm not, it's not I'm not even trying to
get at you like I I just think those two
and C. D.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Lamb are the three best talents.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Not everything about the Rams is a personal shot at you.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
Like what listen We're not going to get into this.
This is gonna be a whole nother segment.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Like you think if you put Puka with Joe Flacco,
he's putting up one fifty and two.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
I mean, listen, hold up, pause. What is it that
Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson that is doing that? They're
doing that Pooka hasn't already done. I mean they Jamar
Chase won a triple crown. When did Puoka do that?
Speaker 1 (27:39):
I think both those guys are probably about to do
it this.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
Year if he stays healthy. That's also a huge thing
that he.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Struggles with if he stays healthy. But they're to me,
I think those guys are better field stretchers than Pooka Nikua.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
They're better field stretchers and they have better touchdown UPSI
Pooka for all the catches and targets, and it's like
he's never been a big touchdown guy early in his career.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
It's one of those things that I get that to
knock him. But in terms of overall talent, yards have
there to catch, the big playability, the diving catches, the
circus catches, the one handed cat like it doesn't matter
of anything. That you paint that they do that he
hasn't already done.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
You've watched Jamar Chase play before, right, Like he does
all of those things as well.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
It's fun, this is detailed, the whole thing. I'm at
number six, and while you guys were having this conversation,
I was really thinking about who to take at number six,
and I'm going back and forth, but I'm gonna take
Devon a Chan here. Interesting because and I went back
and don't ask me why, but I rewatched that Bengal
(28:44):
and that it was Browns Dolphins game from yesterday because
I just I just wanted to see how bad the
Dolphins are.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Pretty bad.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Devon a Han is the only thing they have in
that offense right now, Like that is it. Every time
he gets his hands on the ball, he just looks
like he's moving at a different speed, at least compared
to the rest of his teammates. Uh, he's a big
play waiting to happen every time. He's always been a
big part of the passing game, and I think that's
only got gotten better or improved, I guess, or he's
(29:12):
gotten more targets, however you want to say it. Since
the injury to Tyreek Hill. So yeah, I was I
was torn between him and a wide receiver who I
think is going to make it into this first round.
So I'm not going to say the name, but I
go with von Ah Chan at six.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
So uh, look on back to you give me Jackson
Smith and the Jigbo.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Was the other That was the other guy.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
I'm glad you let me because I was like, yeah,
that's the guy that I wish I was a little
bit more aggressive on in drafts this summer because the
season that he's having is one of those seasons where like, oh,
we could start putting him in that conversation that he
belongs in the first round, especially with Sam Darnham throwing
the ball to him. So I think that downfield stretchability
that they're figuring out together at chemistry, it's going to
(29:54):
be something special. So Jason, yeah, he's a lot for
a first round pick.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
All right. Yeah. I was literally like the I go chan,
do I go JSN, I win a chan. So no
surprise that Smith and jig But goes right after him.
All right, number eight pick to you, Floria Jamier Gibbs.
We're sleeping on him a little bit. I think he one.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
I know, like fantasy wise, we haven't had the huge
blow up game yet, but he's getting more work than
he ever has, so I just think it's only a
matter of time before we see him just go nuclear
like we've really only seen him do once this year.
So yeah, I'm going to take the tried and true
talent and the explosive Jumior Gibbs.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
All right, well I'm at nine, and let's double up
onlon Ton. Let's go I'm on Ross Saint Brown at
this point, because not only is he a target monster,
but he seems to be finding his way into the
end zone at a pretty steady clip so far this season,
the six touchdowns heading into the Monday night game, So
I mean, certainly a chance to add to that in
(30:55):
week seven. But you know, for all the excitement, look
I was, I still am a big Jamison Willilliams guy,
and Isaac Teslaw has kind of popped onto the scene,
but everything still runs through ours book when it comes
to the passing game there in Detroit. So I'm going
to take him at number nine. So all right, I
got three picks left here in our mocker Re draft.
Who you got at ten?
Speaker 4 (31:15):
Lakwan a Mecho Buka, I think I can put the
egg on my face. I was a little wrong about that.
I do think I should have been a little bit
more aggressive about him because he's blossomed into the scene
as like a solid wide receiver one. I think the
future is bright for him. So all the Dynasty folks
out there, I know they're beating their drums and saying
that they got a gem and their roster. So yeah,
(31:37):
mecho Buka has to come on all.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Right, Sobuka makes it in, so we got is he
the He is the first rookie to come off the
board in the drafts this year. So there it is
O rish LRDA who's got an eleven.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
The last remaining elite receiver in my opinion, give me
ceede Lamb, ceedee Lamb. And he has played three games
this year. He's gone over one hundred and ten yards
or more in each of those games, eighteen or more
Fantasy points in each.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Of those games.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Like I think next year he's a top five pick
once again. And it's just it stinks that he lost
a month this year because of injury. But yeah, he
is as elite as elite gets, and he's in a
perfect situation for fantasy.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Him and Dak are kind of this year's chasing Joe
Burrow from last year.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Yeah, I could see that for sure, especially as the Cowboys.
That defense means they have to throw a lot, so
plenty of targets coming his way, all right, So rounding
out our first round in our mock draft. And I
could do the thing that is, you know, sane and
(32:42):
rational and everybody look at and go. Or or I
could take Camp Scataboo, what chop chees with the bev Scataboo,
I'm doing it. I'm taking Cam Scataboo here. And I
was looking at him or Josh Jacobs. But I think
(33:04):
with what we've seen from Scataboo, the fact that and
look we'll get to Jackson Dart and the Giants in
just a little bit, but that Skataboo has sort of
done it in every situation, that he really has taken
command of that backfield, that he is a part of
the passing game, and just sort of the energy and
excitement that he and Jackson Dart have brought to this offense.
(33:27):
I think make it really really interesting the rest of
the way. It was good to see Tyrone Tracy come
in there. He had a touchdown run in that game yesterday.
But it's apparent that this is cam Scataboo's backfield right now,
and again I think he's I think if Elie Nighbors
is healthy and still there, I don't think Skataboo gets
this sort of love right. But I think with these
(33:49):
circumstances being what they are, with the giants not really
being able to push the ball downfield consistently, yeah, I
think Cam scattaboy is going to continue to eat you know,
him and dart uh Aura just nothing but aura with
those guys. So are we going? Are we going?
Speaker 2 (34:05):
Scatter jacks? Is that how we're doing this?
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Or or jacks or Darta boot either way, Uh yeah,
I'm gonna I'm gonna go off menu here and taking
camp Scattaboo to round out the first round, Dartaboo tossing
in the trash, shredder burn it, no, no, no, no,
So scatter jacks, scatter jacks, I like that, right, all right,
all right, so there it is, so all right.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
I'm sure.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
I'm sure if this thing makes it onto the interwebs,
people are gonna call me a dummy for for taking
scataboo there, but hey, man, y'all clicked on it, so
no justin Jefferson.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, what's this quarterback situation gonna
look like next year?
Speaker 1 (34:46):
That's you know, and that's a whole other conversation too,
I think for another another show is what the quarterback
situation there? Because because Carson Wentz is not good, but
it also doesn't seem like they're in a hurry to get.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Back to pain Sam Darnold.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
They also seem like they're in a I heard he
get back to JJ.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
McCarthy either, that's what it's going to be next year.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Yeah, I mean it is going to be him next
year for sure.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
But it obviously has impacted Jefferson's production too so far
this ye and.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
We haven't seen the ceiling yet, but he does have
over eleven Fantasy points in every game this year.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Also has had a touchdown since wek one, So yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
Mean he's had like a numerous one hundred and twenty.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Yard games and that's right. But yeah, he'll get on
the stretch where he's like five touchdowns in.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
Three games of course, because that's just how it works.
So we'll put this out on the Internet and you
can yell at us. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna
mute everything. It's fine, It'll be all right. We also
a little bit of quarterbacks before we hit the break here,
because there were some interesting quarterback performances, some that kind
of came out of nowhere, some that I think you're
going to make us reevaluate how we feel about things.
Let's go back to the Icy Hot Bowl on Thursday night,
(35:50):
which is an excellent name. Aaron Rodgers Joe Flacco both
went out and had really good Fantasy games. I you know,
Joe flaccoiowe you an apology. I guess I was familiar
with your game, but I'd kind of forgotten about it
and didn't think that it was still on that level.
But both guys had twenty two or more Fantasy points
this past week. I mean Florio, which one of those
(36:11):
two is more likely to sustain? You think?
Speaker 4 (36:15):
I think Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Although Joe Flacco might just get there because the Bengals
are gonna give up a lot of points and he
just keeps chucking it downfield to Higgins and Chase. But Blacko,
to me, seems like one of the we've seen Flacco
do this before too, where he could get red hot
for a stretch and then kind of goes back to
being what he was. Aaron Rodgers has not been like
(36:39):
the highest ceiling quarterback, but we've seen now of floor
starting to develop in recent weeks. And they like to
throw the ball when they get in the red zone too,
So that is something that I think could help keep
him aflow. And to answer the second question on the rundown,
I'm one hundred and ten percent considering Aaron Rodgers as
a streamer next week because if we know one thing
(37:00):
about Iron Rodgers, nothing fuels him like hate and pettiness.
It is why his best Fantasy game of the year
came against the New York Jets. If you think he
disliked the Jets, imagine the feelings that he has when
he faces the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.
And the Packers, as good as they've been up front,
their secondary has been vulnerable as of late. So yeah,
(37:23):
I think Rogers is very much so in play as
a streaming option with six teams on.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Buy next week, I want so.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
I was joking that on Fantasy Live we have sort
of leaned into these these AI animations like we used
to come Back from Break and stuff like that. These
music videos. There was one with you know, Aaron Rodgers.
It was weird. He was like in the jungle and
Mike Tomlin was waiting for the whole thing was bizarre.
But what I want I can't even begin to tell you.
(37:51):
It was like this. It was like this sort of
Indiana Jones thing, but it was with Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
I can't even begin to explain it.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
But what I do want, if we're going to do this,
if we are going to, you know, drain the oceans
for this sort of thing, let's not.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
I mean, let's not.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
But you know that ship is already sailed and we
don't get to make those decisions. I want them to
make one that is a soft drink commercial where Aaron
Rodgers is sipping out of a green can that just
says Spie not sprite By.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
That is this week, man, because that is this.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Week just just the biggest petty party you've ever seen
for Aaron Rodgers going against the Green Bay Packers and
with six teams on a buy you can bet there
and be a lot of people banking on Rogers this
week to just go out there and be petty against
his old club.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
Be yourself, help my fantasy rosters.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
That's all it is. Look on with Jackson Dart. I mean,
we've all been big on Jackson Dart. We're all trying
to become a part of the Dart side. But this week,
I think we all looked at it and said, yeah,
it's the Broncos. Yeah, I don't know that I can
do that. He throws for two eighty three and three touchdowns,
runs for eleven yards, has a touchdown on the ground,
twenty eight fantasy points for him is he must start now?
Speaker 4 (39:04):
Yeah, he's in his era. He's in his bag right now.
And I think the Broncos matchup was more so scary.
It is because they're able to stop the run, They're
able to make big plays through the air, Like this
was a defense that everybody had marked off, like, yeah,
we're not starting Wandell Robinson. He ended up having like
a nice flex floor. We are not starting Jackson Dart
because they're not allowing none of these quarterbacks to get
(39:26):
light on their feet forty six rushing yards. They allowed
to the mobile quarterbacks in Herbert Justin fields, Jalen Hurts
prior to this game, so everything lined up was like ugh,
but no, Jackson Dark actually went out there and had
one of his best passing games, making some of the
biggest plays the damn Bailager, Like he literally navigated that
in the pocket under pressure, ket his eyes downfield and
(39:49):
hit him.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
For the big play.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
This is stuff that you really don't see from like
these rookie quarterbacks that are kind of like scattered all
over around. But he's unpredictable, Like he's able to get
the rushing yards, he's able to make the throws that
you really wouldn't expect the rookie of the throw across
his body, and like he's doing all these great things
to where like you just have to lock him in now.
It's like, hey, he's going to be a two B
(40:11):
one next season when they add more additions, when they
get Malik Neighbors back, because what he's doing now and
what he has to work with, it's insane the numbers
that he's putting up right now, So you have to
start them.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Yeah, I mean it's gonna be I think it's going
to cause a headache for a lot of fantasy managers
because you've probably already had a.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Quarterback and maybe you went and picked up Dart.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
I mean, you have a lot of questions. I would
think right.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Two weeks ago on Fantasy Live, I said he's a
top ten quarterback, and I named the nine that I
would rather have.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
That list has shrunk, but I'll tell you the names
it would still be, and.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
You could tell me if you disagree with any I'm
still taking Allen, I'm still taking my homes and I'm
taking Lamar over him. Jaden is hurt, so that one
kind of gets put aside. I'm still taking Hurts Baker,
Dak and May and I think that's it. That's what
seven quarterbacks know that I would start over Jackson Dart
moving forward, Daniel Jones, I'd rather have Dark, Okay, Matthew Stafford,
(41:09):
look here we.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Go, obviously obviously yeah, man, mobility, This is not a
shot at you, man, I'm saying. I'm saying Dark too, man,
okayang all right over brock Perty.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Yeah, so we're brock Purty. Brock Purty is hurt. He's
barely played this year. I would absolutely say Jackson Dart
over I'm not gonna get all but hurt about it.
Like it's fine because you got Mac. I also got
Mac Jones, who you know was good enough. Mac Jones,
by the way, was Mac Jones is like a disposable razor,
like like you use him one the first time using
(41:44):
he's really sharp. The more you use him to show
like at some point you're like, yeah, we probably got
to change this out a little bit.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Yeah, but it was good enough.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
It was good enough on Sunday Night, so good analogy.
Speaking of quarterbacks in the NFC West, Floya, is it
time to talk about Jacoby Brissett as the starting quarterback
down there in Arizona right now? Yo?
Speaker 4 (42:05):
I said last week on the show.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
I tweeted this out as well, like I will die
on the hill that Jacoby Brisett should be a starter
in this league. And I've said this for a while now,
like anytime he gets put. I know last year wasn't
the best with the Patriots, but that was a bottom
three bottom That was the worst situation in football last year.
And that's why I got so excited for Drake May
when he came in there and he looks like he did.
But yeah, Brissett three touchdowns in seven quarters for Trey McBride.
(42:31):
He had two all of last season with Kyler Murray.
Speaker 4 (42:34):
Like, I know Murray can run. I know they paid him.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
I know after the bye this week, we're probably going
to get Kyler Murray starting again. And even if the
Cardinals move on after this year, someone will give Murray
a chance to start. But the passing attack looks its
best with Jacoby Brissett this year. Preach brother.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
I mean, he just he's getting the ball out quickly.
He's spreading it around the guys. I mean, he's was
in Marvin Harrison down the sidelines. He's getting Trey McBride involved.
I mean even for those of us Sikos who had
to go deep there. I mean, Michael Wilson getting targets.
They Jones had a big catch. I mean, he's just
getting the ball out on time and on target. George,
come on, George land Is.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
You know we're back open.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
They're making popcorn again.
Speaker 4 (43:19):
It's great. Electricity is back on.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
You know, it's running slow, but it's running.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
You know. Two starts for Jakobe Brissett this year, five
hundred and ninety nine passing yards, four touchdowns, one interception.
That's amazing, man, That's it's it's great.
Speaker 4 (43:36):
We're not.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that you
should be starting Jacoby Brissett, but man, if you have
some other pieces in that offense, you just feel better
with him.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
I might have cost myself in a week because, uh,
in a Superflex I had Gino Smith as my QB
three with Josh Allen on by, and I was like,
do I drop Gino for Jacoby?
Speaker 4 (43:55):
I was like, God, it's a one week thing. I'll
just ride and he'll probably be pretty close.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
And then Smith is just even in super Flex, I
don't think he's us trust is.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
I have him in a super FLEXU Dynasty League and
it's not going well, not at all, So we will see.
I know to this point, Jonathan Gannon has not said
anything one way or another about the starting quarterback situation
down there in Arizona, but certainly, uh, you know, you
read the reports. You you sort of listen to the
fan chatter, and there are some real conversations about who
(44:25):
should be the QB one for the Cardinals for the
rest of the season.
Speaker 4 (44:29):
Drew Petson saving his job.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
I'll tell you that, and then you do.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
You got to do what you gotta do to stay employed.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
Man, that's that's just that's the rules.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
Did you see the other day he he said he
didn't like the play call that he made on the
biggest player of the game, And it's like.
Speaker 4 (44:41):
Dude, you're the one who controls that.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
We're all trying to find the guy who did this,
you know. So that's that's what that is.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
It's like that SpongeBob episode the Problem, looking for the
problem exactly exactly. But I should go talk to the
person who did that.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
Yeah, that's that's enough to induce rage if you were
a Cardinals fan. Speaking of rage, guys, we are rage dropping.
That is coming up after the break that in some
waiver wires talk next on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. Obviously,
it's the point of the season. Everybody's making waiver wire
moves pretty much all season long. But at some point
(45:23):
you've just had enough of a guy. It's just not
working out, and you were just done. Future production be damned.
I just can't do it anymore. So, LaQuan, who are
you rage dropping this week?
Speaker 4 (45:36):
Djmore? And it sucks that we have eleven startable wide
receivers home by it this week and I may be
stuck with him in one league. But I'm really done
with him because honestly, his best game this season came
against one of the worst defenses in the NFL, which
is the Dallas Cowboys. But that was only twelve points.
Like that's your high, that's your ceiling. Like when you
even look at where he's at in importance on this offense,
(45:57):
seventeen percent is his target per rout run. That's a
reflection of his actual impact and involvement on this offense.
That's sixty seventh among wide receivers qualifying wide receivers of
ninety four. He is dead down there with the elk
Ayu manners. He's down there with the Jerry Judies. He's
less relevant involved in his offense as a hunter, Henry.
Listen to that, Hunter, Henry, and it's like, how you
(46:19):
are that's a tight end hunter Renfell has a higher
target per route run. Listen to that, Like, this is
really really bad to be sitting here rostering DJ Moore
because you draft him measure wide receiver three, You draft
to measure wide receiver two. We know that he has
the talent as a wide receiver one, but that is
no longer true in the Ben Johnson's picture, so I
(46:40):
just think right now, like I'm ready to let him go,
like I'm okay with just cutting ties.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
I really thought, or maybe hoped, that after the buye,
you would see him get more involved, right like I
thought you would. I Ben Johnson would look at that
and be like, hey, we got to get DJ Moore
the ball. Yes, Romo dune says, great, that's wonderful. We
got to get our other guy going too. That hasn't
really happened. In fact, I think the worst part is
(47:07):
that the last couple of weeks it's been neither More
nor Odonza getting going because Romo Dunza, after that hot
start to the season, has sort of cooled off the
last couple of weeks, back to back games with just
barely over five points for Odonsa. So it's not like
you'd be like, hey, DJ Moore is struggling, but man,
Romo Dundas eating. Last two weeks, it's been neither. It's
(47:28):
kind of been the DeAndre Swift show in Chicago.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
To your point, Like yesterday, the first drive, it was
like two of the first three passes went to DJ
Moore and I'm like, okay, maybe this is that game,
and then he finishes with five that he like, I'm
pretty sure it's in his contract that he cannot finish
with more than five targets.
Speaker 4 (47:49):
Ben Jonson's like, you ate too much, all right, laws
five targets is max.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
His game log is five, then six, then five, five
five five five, Like it sounds like made up TV
phone number.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
Yeah, five five five. He had six one day and
I'm sure, like you know, did they pull Caleb aside
and like, hey man, you gotta you gotta pay attention, Like.
Speaker 4 (48:11):
Oh, Ben Johnson was livid.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
He was like, he has six.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
That means we want to detail more overtime, Like we
can't do that, y'all. We gotta we gotta make sure
we keep it at five capitals.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
The worst part is is they're winning because, like I know,
some fantasy managers are out there like maybe he gets traded,
but why are they.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
Going to trade him if they're in contention.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
They are very much still hanging around in this playoff race,
the four and two right now, you know, and very
much in the thick of things. And on top of it,
by the way, Caleb Williams is on pace for four
thousand yards this season.
Speaker 4 (48:44):
So and DeAndre Swift is good. I know the first
couple of weeks people I mentions being like he's all full,
he's all floor. Nope, it just took a couple of
weeks to a few weeks.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
That was the thing that seemed like they figured out
in the bye week was how to get DeAndre Swift?
Speaker 4 (48:59):
How'm a nung guy?
Speaker 1 (49:00):
Also ye to peek behind the curtain. He's on the
sleepers list this week. I guess I should I should
correct myself right now. Caleb just short of the pace
for four thousand yards, but not by much so.
Speaker 4 (49:13):
Oh he was on it before yesterday.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
Yeah, I think I think he's just short. But again,
like it's a thing where one doesn't have to be
a huge game, but one halfway decent game gets him
back on pace.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
So they get the Ravens next week. That'll more than
cover it.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
Still in the cards for Caleb to get there. Floyda,
who are you rage dropping?
Speaker 3 (49:31):
Michael Carter and I more want to talk about how
annoying the Cardinals have been all year long. Like the
first two weeks, even with the healthy James Connor, they
were using Trey Benson enough where it was like, Okay,
that really dings James Connor and makes him more like
a low end RB two. Then he gets hurt and
we get Trey Benson for like a week and it
(49:51):
was like, Okay, this seems like it's gonna be fun.
He goes down. Michael Carter said, we think it's gonna
be Demerccado. We know what happens with that. Carter plays
really well that game. Then they're like out of nowhere.
Speaker 4 (50:03):
We got an alert.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
I think it was Schefter on like Sunday morning before
whatever week that was was like, hey, they might use
Bam Knight as the starter, and then it was like
fifty to fifty, and then this week was more night.
It's just made it where I don't think you could try.
I know they're on by this week too, which makes
it easier, but like I would be dropping Bam Knight
in places unless it's a real deep league as well,
because Trey Benson actually posted this morning just saying soon
(50:26):
and I believe week ten.
Speaker 4 (50:27):
Is when he's eligible for a return.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
But I don't want to next week with six teams on,
buy waste a spot for a running back that I
might feel comfortable I could play for one week, two
weeks down the road, like I'm just so over this
Cardinals backfield this year. It's kind of been like a
dog chasing its tail, and more often than not, it
leads to disappointment.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
I know, Lakwan, you have been You've sort of been
on Drew Petsing's head all year long. It is nothing new.
I think, I think I believe it was Patrick Claibon
a few weeks ago who posted was talking about the
Cardinals offense and posted the you know the meme of
the guy hands on his hips, looking at the server
like obviously with no clue what's happening, and basically saying
(51:08):
that that is kind of Drew Petsing at the helm
of the Cardinals offense resume. That is just yeah, it's like,
you know, he suddenly became important at work and now
he doesn't know what to do about it, sort of thing.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
I retweeted it with the remember the fake doctor the
kid that he sent me a docting as that picture. Yeah,
I retweeted with that same thing.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
Yeah, so that part mine.
Speaker 1 (51:30):
And first off, I was sort of surprised that nobody
put Trevon Henderson in this.
Speaker 4 (51:36):
I almost did. I almost did it.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
Almost did. I thought one of you was going to
do it.
Speaker 3 (51:41):
You can't start him, but I I unless you're in
a shallow league, I think there's value in holding him.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
You know what. I updated the middle meter too, so
that was an option. Oh and we have a new
player to the scene.
Speaker 1 (51:54):
Oh no, exactly, no.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
Updated.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
So it's a two person leader.
Speaker 4 (52:02):
It's a two person race now because we're getting mid
point five is what we got from Fantasy Points this
Sunday in a matchup that was his Sorry if I'm
blowing up the rundown right now.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
But I was triggered.
Speaker 1 (52:14):
I was triggered.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
Then nobody put this guy. He needs to be on
the wire because when people ask me, hey should I
start such and such? Hello, because we have never seen
anything relevant for him to be in starting lineups. So yeah,
he's down at the bottom wall with t low, but
he will be updated on Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
I mean, it's just it was such a choice matchup
for the Patriots running backs and remindre Stevenson did his thing.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
That was my sleep for this last week. Rabrael hates
Henderson like I I.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
You can't start him, there's no way, but I'm viewing
him now as a handcuff right like he's one injury
away from we think being the starter unless they signed
someone off the street. So like if you're like a
ten team league or an eight team league, yeah, he's
definitely droppable. But like I have him in a lot
of like deeper twelve team leagues, and I'm not gonna
start him, but I don't think I'm gonna drop.
Speaker 1 (53:08):
Well, my rage drop guy is a guy who did
even less than Travon Henderson this past week, and that's
r J Harvey Henderson. So Henderson had two carries for
five yards. R J Harvey four carries, zero yards, two targets,
one catch two yards. I mean, I guess he ended
up having more Fantasy points because he had the catch
(53:29):
in there, but he had fewer total yards than Trayvon
Henderson last week. Just cannot get on the field, cannot
get on the field at all, and I gotta get it.
Look shout out to to JK. Dobbins, who's having another
very good year.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
He's been very.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
Effective running the ball for the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
I'm r J.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
Harvey has fewer carries than bow Knicks, he has fewer
rushing yards than bow Knicks. He cannot cannot Like I'm
the guy who came into the season saying don't trust
Sean Payton that like you know, he's going to he's
going to trick you, he's going to make you look foolish.
Even still, they just will not. Yeah, I mean, oh,
(54:12):
I know you were big on it. We tried to
warn you, We did our best. I get it, like okay,
but but even now, I'm just like you, why what?
Why suit him up? Like what is what is happening
here that he can't get on the field like at all,
can't get the ball at all.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
I just I'm not doing it anymore.
Speaker 1 (54:32):
I can't. I just I'll take my chances. Look, I
gonna get Kyle man Ung guy. I'd rather take Kyle
maman Unguy at this point. Yeah, I'd rather have him
than try to deal with RJ. Harvey. It's over.
Speaker 4 (54:42):
Maybe I'm a sucker for punishment.
Speaker 3 (54:44):
I kind of view Harvey the same way I view Henderson,
like there's no way you could start him. But like
in deeper leagues, I want him on my bench.
Speaker 4 (54:50):
You can't have both. But like in my home league,
where it's a deep twelve team league, the waiver wires
usually thin every week.
Speaker 3 (54:58):
I'm like, do I drop RV and I'm like, but
if something happens to JK. Dobbins, he has more upside
than anyone on the way.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
Yeah, I mean I I guess, I guess I should
give him credit. He didn't a touchdown yesterday, so that
one two yard catch did end in the end zone,
so that made it look I guess better. But one
church for two yards.
Speaker 4 (55:20):
At least he's doing something.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
One church for two yards is the extent of your output.
Speaker 4 (55:26):
Like Henderson's going home with clean jerseys, bro, Like, I
still will hold on the Harvey because, like Florida said,
he will have the highest ceiling if JK. Dobbins goes down.
Who doesn't really have that healthy of a track record,
So it's like, yes, I honestly will hold on at
least with Hendo or Heno. I just start sending at
least if Stevenson goes down, I think there's still wigger
(55:48):
room that he could be fantasy reallymand but the Patriots
rushing offense isn't great to begin with, so it's like,
what does that actual ceiling look like for Heno?
Speaker 1 (55:56):
I'm looking and who's behind him?
Speaker 2 (55:58):
I mean Terrell Jennings.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
I mean, maybe they bring somebody up on all thettle
practice squad or something.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
Apparently Rainwrall was saying, uh, they think they found their
five minute back with Jennings.
Speaker 4 (56:08):
Yes, so I going around Twitter.
Speaker 3 (56:11):
Wow, Rainberl did not want to draft Henderson, And at
first I was like that just seems like internet whatever.
But now I'm like everything he does points that he
does not want this guy on his team.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:24):
Wow, so uh so much for the like at least
Omri and Hampton when he was healthy was doing things
like he was getting opportunities and doing things. So there
you go. The I'll say this, for all the hype
of the rookie running back class, it's been kind of
underwhelming so far in this season.
Speaker 4 (56:40):
It ain't deep. It was deep before, you know.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
But you know Henderson, Harvey no shows, Ashton Jenzy doing
what he can in a bad offense. You know, Hampton
hurt right now. So it's it's been rough. Before we
get out of here, Florida put together a list of
waiver wire options. Run to run through those.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
Please, Yeah, I have to include Jackson Dart because he's
still below fifty percent. Why every week we come on
here and we're like, add Jackson Dart. But after that
a lot of streamers for the week because six teams
on by we spoke about Aaron Rodgers. Michael Pennix Junior
gets a good matchup next week as well against I
forget who he gets, but it's a good matchup. And
(57:22):
then Taylor gets the Bengals, and then Marcus Mariota just
because he could run. I don't want to play him
against the Chiefs necessarily, but the Dolphins, by the.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
Way, next week, who do they get? Penn the Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
There we go, that's who it is, and they can't
stop Lakwon coun go out there and run all over
them that four or five speed.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
I mean Lakwan can run a four. He can run
a four, five seven, So it's fine.
Speaker 4 (57:44):
I had to bring a full circle, you know.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
Running backs, I still put Woody Marx because I think
tonight might just be a Woody Marks game with them
coming off the by Kyle Manungui Bam Knight and they're
run by next week, but he.
Speaker 4 (57:57):
Is the lead back there. Taj Spears.
Speaker 3 (58:00):
We saw a lot more Brashad Smith this week, granted
it wasn't a blowout. And then base Shall Twoton just
because etn has been trending down for a few weeks
now wide receiver. I still think the Packers guys are
the top options in dobbs in Golden Alec Pierce had
a lot of targets this week. Kishon Boody is as
boom or buss as they call me at two targets,
but hey, he's hitting on those with the best deep
(58:22):
belt thrower in the NFL right now. Xavier Lguet front
of the show had a huge volume game this week.
Malik Washington heavily involved, and Darren Waller is week to
week now, and then Christian Watson just in deeper leagues
he's nearing a return. I added him in a couple
of spots this past week and then tight ends. Shout
out to ulq Aronde Gatz in the second wait off
(58:42):
this week.
Speaker 4 (58:43):
Kyle Pitts kind of them as a start.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
He played well and he has another great matchup last
week Colson Lovelin because Cole Kmet got injured, Deil Johnson
and Mason Taylor.
Speaker 4 (58:53):
I like Johnson more.
Speaker 3 (58:55):
Long term, I think, but for if you only need
a tight end to play this week, I like the
matchup better.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
For two. Theo Johnson's touchdown was preposterous.
Speaker 4 (59:05):
Yes, it was when.
Speaker 1 (59:07):
He caught that. At that point, when he caught that,
I was like, well, thanks for coming Denver, Like I
thought it was a wrap for the Broncos. I'm like,
if you have a touchdown like that, it's just it's
just not your day.
Speaker 2 (59:17):
Back to the day.
Speaker 1 (59:18):
But but that was preposterous.
Speaker 3 (59:20):
Those teams were having an your day off when you
think about it, just the way they both allowed all
those points is crazy.
Speaker 1 (59:27):
Deflective touchdowns things of that nature.
Speaker 2 (59:30):
It was just wild. So anyway, yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:32):
Go check it out if you need some help off
the waiver.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
Whire a reminder, six teams are on a bye this week.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
Of course, we'll dive into it later on in the
week we come back for our other shows as well.
But there you go. That'll do it for this edition
of the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. They happy, safe and healthy,
do good, and live well. Enjoyed the Monday night double hitter,
last one probably of all time, and we will talk
to you again on Wednesday.
Speaker 5 (59:53):
Wo don't help Bob, don't help
Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
H
