Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow, everybody, It's Monday, October twenty seventh, twenty twenty five.
Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Where we need to have a talk about the Tush push.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
It's me and your man, MG Marcus Grand joined by
Michael f Florio and Lakwan Jones Tappy Monday. We are
most of the way through. Do you have you looked
up the German word for Monday?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
No, we should ask to chat for that.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
I mean, there has to be some type of international
name we can give them.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Monday.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
Monday's just me day. That's what I call it really
for myself. Yeah, I'm going to the movies today by myself.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Joe Flacco style according to Google translated is Montag, which
means Montag, which means, you know, the one half of
that Spencer and Heidi duo is Heidi Monday.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
So I don't know.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
I'm having a good Monday though. I mean forty wers loss,
I mean Manchester United, we're bad. Falcons lost. Also, that's
great for the Rams draft pick, Like, come on.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
I forgot about the Rams in the Falcons draft pick, which,
oh no, we're rooting for the Falcons to be terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
I'm sure to be trending that way.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
But also before yesterday, y'all have to be a little nervous.
I mean they were looking like they were pulling things
together a little bit. Yesterday was a disaster for them.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
They're so inconsistent. But I mean, we'll get into that later.
But I just don't understand what they're doing.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Uh well, cousin man, he's washed.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
I think it's a wrap for Kirk oat Chains after yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
His last six games, one touchdown, nine interceptions.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Is that bad? Chat? Is that bad?
Speaker 1 (01:44):
That is bad?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Horrible?
Speaker 2 (01:47):
That seems bad for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
A lot to dive into on the show today. It
was National Tied ends today. We'll sort of recap what
that was. I don't know how much we can analyze
it because it was just a thing that happened, but
we can talk about that.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
A little bit of what is going on.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Well, that was rookie running backs because some of the
rookie running backs had interesting days on Sunday. So we'll
get into that, waiver wire drops and all that as well.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
But want to start I actually want.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
To start with the tush push because I opened the.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Show talking about that.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Because Florida, you you dropped any text Shane a little
bit of something about that because Brian Dabole damn near
had an aneurysm on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
On a play where it looked like it looked for
all the.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
World like Jalen Hurts had been stripped of the football.
But the play was blown dead, or at least that's
what the refs suggested that it.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Was blown down.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
It was on the goal line.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
And that's why I guess and interest the thing.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
I look at the tush push as sure, it's legal.
It's fine, you run it. It's not the most exciting play,
but obviously it's effective and until somebody stops it.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Then they're just going to keep running it.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
But now we've started to get into this area where
it is becoming an unfair advantage for the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
One, if they have guys.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
That are able to get off the ball before the
ball is actually snapped, right, if there are guys that
are absolutely false starting and it's not being called, that's
one advantage.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
And now if we're.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Just gonna blow the play dead because of forward progress
when Jalen Hurts is holding it out there and you're
not allowed to strip the ball from him, then it
does become a truly unfair situation for the defense, and
so that I think Florio is where we need to
talk about this.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
It's not so much to play itself.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
But it is that now that's become such a mainstay
of the Eagles offense, the officials have to watch this
thing tighter because it really is becoming an unfair advantage.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
You guys, remember in the offseason, I was like, no,
there's one two teams that are doing this at a
high rate that cannot be stopped. We should not punish
those teams. But now we are. It is the pendulum
has from trying to punish those teams to giving that
team every single advantage under the sun. Like, Okay, I
understand it's a hard play to officiate in live time.
Is bang bang? Maybe you can't tell if it's a
(04:11):
false start or not. Okay, I get that, But you
cannot allow them to jump early and say it's too
difficult to officiate and then blow the play dead once
they reached it, because like there was less than a half.
It was a millisecond between when Jalen Hurts reached out
and Thibodeau ripped it away. And that's one of the
coolest plays I've ever seen against the Toush push. It
(04:31):
was a highlight play that uh Thibodeau got robbed of
and everything. But even more than that, it changed the
complete game around because it should have been a tie.
I believe it was seven to seven at that point.
I could be wrong, but it was close and it
should have been Giants ball, and instead the Eagles got
a touchdown on that very same drive and the game
(04:52):
was never really the same. Yeah, like Brian Dables shouldn't
have challenged it because they basically told him he wasn't
going to win and he kind of was emotional and
still challenge it. I get all of that, but I
in the last three weeks, I went from someone who
was one hundred percent in favor of the Toush push
to someone who is one hundred percent in favor of
banning it because it's not even the Phillies, the Phillies
(05:15):
the Eagles fault, it's the Reps fault. Like you cannot
give them every single advantage on this unstoppable play and
expect that the league is not going to ban it
again this year, so Philly fans Eagles players continue to
enjoy it. You got about eight weeks plus the playoffs before.
I think this thing gets banned. Overrated, either put.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
The push or the oh year you're still on the
Eagles overrated?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, they're overrated.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
I mean, you guys get filed in three. You guys
saw you were top of the table. I mean, you
guys saw you were a first place seam.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
We were just happy to shut you up for a week.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
What does the forty nine ers have to do with
any of this?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
I just looked at Marcus and then it came and
it just came into my mind. I mean, you guys
saw you were first place seam. Records don't matter. You
can't hurt me anymore. I watched that Niner game, and
the three.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Of us would be just as effective as a pass
rush as what the thirteen and the Niners. The Niners
defensive line looks like a week three preseason defensive line
right now. I would think the three of us, especially
since we got a dude who runs a four to five,
could be a much more effective pass rush or six
for six.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
I was at the track this weekend. I was stretching,
So you can't.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
You can't really hurt me about the Niners right now.
I know they got issues. The fact that they are
five and three with the Walking Dead is playing with
house money.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
So we're first no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
We were just happy to shut you up for a week,
for a couple of days, just like you.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Guys know you can't shut me up. Do you understand
the type of specimen I am. I am a motor
that is endless. I'm just saying that Thursday night, that
shot was.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
A little quiet. I had worked the next day that
I was sleep.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
We knew you were.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
We knew you were going to be Honestly, that night
that game could have been scheduled at midnight, you would.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Have been watching it.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
I would have been at d MFB on said, playing
that game in Sydney, Australia. You would have been up
for every single second of it. Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
So Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
We are going to have another discussion about the tush push.
I'm sure in the off season. I would think the
Green Bay Packers, who were very much at the front
of the line for banning it, they may have some
company this this offseason. I would think that Brian Dable,
John Merra, a lot of the folks in the in
the NFC East, probably we are lining up alongside the Packers.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
What's going to happen is they're they're gonna find a
work around, right, Like, it won't look the way it does,
but it'll be like a straight snap and then everyone
comes and pushes hurts or something like like, they'll find
a way.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
Just play football. Just play football. Man, I'm tired of
seeing it. That's where I'm at with it. I just
don't want to see it anymore.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Well, I would suggest not watching any Eagles games for
the rest of the year a lot between now and whenever.
The season is over for Philadelphia. So, speaking of which,
some really awful news. The season is over for Camp Scataboo.
Just a just a horrid, horrid looking ankle injury. Dislocated
ankle is the diagnosis.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
He went to.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
A hospital in Philadelphia where he had surgery, but his season,
unfortunately is over, which is a shame obviously for him,
for the Giants, but for not just fantasy management, for
all of us who watch football, because he was just
so much fun to watch this season and so unfortunately
we're not going to get to see it again this year.
So we wish him the best. Hel up quickly come
(08:36):
back out there. You are an insane person in the
best way possible, so we want to see you.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Back on the football field. From a football.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Standpoint, though, Floria, and you look at this, obviously, Tyrone
Tracy started the year as the RB one was getting
pushed by Scataboo.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
That he got hurt and Scataboo took over that gig.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Presumably it's going to be Tracy that goes back to
being the RB one. Can you expect him to put
up the same level of production or something similar to
what we saw from Skataboo this year?
Speaker 3 (09:06):
No No, I broke out the Skataboo shirt today because
it's the last time I could wear it all week,
all year. Oh that's sick. Yeah, I mean I bought
this over the summer when I was saying that Cam
Scataboo is a better running back than Tyrone Tracy, and
that's why I don't think Tracy can match the production here.
I think he could be an RB two or something
similar to what we saw last season out of Tracy.
(09:28):
He is more explosive than Cam Scataboo, so maybe we
get a little bit more big plays but he's not
the physical runner, he's not the goal line runner, and
he's not the pass blocker that camp Scataboo is. So
while he did lead the team in routes yesterday, I
do think we'll see a little Devin Singletary sprinkled in
here or there. Tracy obviously becomes if he was dropped,
(09:50):
and he was dropped in a number of leagues, he
becomes the top pick up this week. I think he
is someone that you could plug in as a flex
or an RB two, but he's not going to be
a top five running back, top ten running back like
camp Scattaboo has been pretty much every week since he
took the job.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
I do think, if you're doing your due diligence, you
mentioned Devin Singletary, I think he's going to be a
name that's added off the waiver wire in a lot
of leagues. I would caution people that, look, I don't
I don't think Brian Dabele has anything out for Devin Singletary.
But if we're going to flash back to their time
together in Buffalo, just remember Devin Singletary needed three forms
(10:25):
of ID to get into the in zone.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
So that's just something that's kind.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Of David in mine has benched Devin Singletary more times
than I can count.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
So if you're in a deep league, I would go
pick up Devin Singletary. I just wouldn't expect a whole
lot from him in terms of production this year, and pour.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
One out for scatman. Yeah, make sure if Floria's doing
that New York thing where you wear two different New
York teams.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
And I mean like the bills and then Giant. I
so full disclosure, I wear hats on Monday because I
write started cinema day and I don't want to do
my hair. And then I was like, I was gonna
wear a hoodie, but I was like, this is probably
the last chance I get for a year to break
out the camp Scattabhu shirt, so I wanted to show him. Also,
I know we're about to talk about another Giants player.
(11:12):
I bought a shirt for that player as well. I
think I need to stop buying players for Giants players.
My bad New York neighbors Scott and that bet I'd be.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
A dart ben.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
I'm not done about it, but I can't do that
to Giants fans.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah, man, So there's so much fun. Though they are fun.
They're fun. Speaking of that, other player, Lak Nighbors is
expected to undergo surgery this week on his injured knee,
the story being that apparently the swelling was so bad
that they had to wait for that to kind of
subside a little bit before they could get him in
for surgery.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
So the hope right now is.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
That he is going to be ready for the twenty
twenty six season. I'm obviously Jackson Dart has infused some
energy into this offense. He's made it so that Wandell
Robinson has been a top twenty fantasy receiver. We know
the talents of Melik Neighbors, but coming off this injury,
do you think he's still gonna be a first round
pick next year?
Speaker 4 (12:09):
I mean, do you know the fantasy streets that we
could TV content too. I mean, obviously, yeah, they're gonna
hype him up soon as they see him back on
the field with Jackson Dart. I mean, it only takes
one summer training video for a player you need to
shoot to the sky, especially a player like Melite Neighbors. Absolutely,
and actually I kind of side with the fantasy streets
on this one, Like I love the idea of having
Melik neighbors, you know, being outside the top ten picks
(12:32):
roughly where he possably will go. But I still think
he's a first round talent pick that I'm willing to
take that chance on. I mean, honestly, looking at what
the Giants are probably going to look like for the
rest of the season, looking at their schedule doesn't get easier,
so we don't probably have a high draft pick. So
it's like, I'm ready to see what the Giants can
put together on this offense in terms of multiple weapons.
I mean, we're getting Scat back next year, hopefully he's good.
(12:54):
And then obviously Jackson dart is ascending. Solik Neighbors to
me seems like a no brainer to me, Like, yeah,
I'll take him in the first round if I see
him there, if I'm sitting at that one ten spot,
eleven twelve, yeah, I'm going to take him off the board.
But you know, when it changes the conversation of how
far we're going to take him in the first round,
I think we will have to wait and see of
like how that kind of bulds out in the summer.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
I think had he played this full season out all
the trajectory he was going.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
I think we were.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Talking about him as a top five pick, easily maybe higher.
Now I think, you know, he probably does fall to
the back end of that. And it's not even gonna
be a full on, you know, pass catching video that
we see Laquana. It's not gonna be one of those
slow motion like ball in the air he makes the catch.
It's gonna be him like running cones or running the ladder,
you know what I'm saying. Like he's gonna be doing
(13:40):
like quick steps on the ladder sort of thing. Everybody's
gonna be like figs duck, you know, the adp let's.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Go through the roof.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
I think he'll be like a fourth round pick in
early best Ball, and then it'll it'll climb all.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
July and August.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Bro That's what the fantasy streets do. Man, When folks
come back outside, they're like, oh, yeah, what's it.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
I would much prefer him as a second round pick.
I love neighbors. First is.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Coming off of knee, as every fantasy relevant player does
in the offseason. There will be the day that that
player is the center of conversation, and inevitably that will
bump the ADP up at least around maybe two.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
So whose squads are going to make the ADP jump.
I'm going to say he's a second round pick. I
feel like we've gotten over the whole quads thing. I
think Dave has ruined Dad remember him, Mike.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Davis, AJ Dillon.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
I think I think I think we've we've grown out
of that as a society, and I'm proud of us.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
I love that for us as a group.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
In Cleveland, Quinn Shawn Judkins left the Browns game with
a shoulder injury. Florio' is this because I dropped Jerome Ford?
Speaker 2 (14:43):
That I did? I fudge up by dropping Jerome Ford
and then I.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Dropped him in the morning because I needed to make
some room on the roster. I like, he's not really
giving me anything. Did I screw up?
Speaker 3 (14:53):
I don't think you did. For a number of different reasons.
Jerome Ford has just been the RB two all Like,
remember before Judkins was back, we were like, Dylan Sampson
is the lead back here. Dan Judkins comes back and
Dylan Sampson kind of took a step back and was
the RB three. I think the Browns have a set
role that they liked. Jerome Ford in and it doesn't
(15:17):
change like yesterday with Judkins out, Sampson was the one
that played more and had more involvement in the passing game.
Plus the Browns around by next week, so I think
it's very possible. We haven't like this is speculation. We
haven't really heard any official at least I haven't seen
anything official on Judkins yet, but I'm not ruling him
out of potentially being back after the bye. And if
(15:39):
he's not, I think Dylan Sampson is the back you
want a roster. So I don't think you fudged up
at all.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
All Right, great, I was a channeling Allen from the
the hangover.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
I fudged up, guys. I fudged up. Oh down in
New Orleans.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Apparently the Saints have had enough of watching the Rattler
play quarterback. The first few weeks of the season, he
was about average. He was kind of a replacement level quarterback.
The last couple weeks have been pretty bad. He had
a maybe one of the more embarrassing pick sixes you
will ever see, where the ball was tipped up in
the air by Anthony Nelson, who then just ran over
(16:18):
kind of the almost did the Allen iverson step over
on his way to the end zone. I started the
books defense everywhere.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
I started them in a couple of leagues, but I
faced them in one really close matchup and that flipped
like I lost solely because they put up like twenty
six points blurg.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
So anyway, Ratley gets bench, Tyler Shuck comes in and
takes over the rest of the game.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
So the kwan, now what now, what do we do?
Speaker 4 (16:42):
I want to start off by saying, I don't understand
why he was bench. I understand the turnovers were there.
The offense needed a spark, but for them to bench
Spencer Ratler, who's completing over seventy percent of his passes,
who's actually attacking downfield? This guy had eight completions of
ten plus yards. We send in Tyler Shuck, and there's
a TikTok video on my page right now that I
(17:02):
was looking at some of the plays that Tyler Schuck
was doing. This guy has no idea what he's doing.
He took a three yard game to Brandon Cooks when
you needed a first down and led a Jawan Johnson
free on the perimeter, wide open, under no pressure, cool
calm and collected. This is what I'm talking about in
terms of why did they make this change when the
offense look worse, It looks slower, It looked indecisive, It
(17:24):
looked like this guy is a rookie, because I know
he played at least thirty years of college football, and
he's older than most of my cousins that came to
get insurance yet. But I put it like this, the
New Orleans Saints don't have any idea what they have
at quarterback and spener. Rather, I think benching this guy
during this game was one of the games you let
him go through the growing pains, you let him struggle.
(17:46):
Because again, of course, the turnovers were awful. I mean
the game was not great, Like they were not an
offense these last two weeks that looked like they were
anything close to having any.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Type of rhythm.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
But I look at this as like, now, do we
have to expect Tyler Schuck to come in over at
Spencer Raller, who's been playing decent football, Like this guy's
great against the blitz. He has a one hundred and
twenty six passer rating against heavy rush. And then you
look at Tyler Schuck under no pressure, he's not making
the proper throws. So my whole rant to this is
is like, look, Saints pass catchers, you still start them
(18:18):
Chris Olave, Juwan Johnson, Rashisha Head. But if Tyler Shuck
is going to be the starter at any point of
the season going on, I'm snatching these guys out of
my starting lineup because I don't understand how you have
Spencer Radler on the sideline three sixteen rattlesnink I like
to call him when he's been kicking butt and being
over expectations of what we all thought the Saints were
(18:39):
going to be on offense.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Well, I think the next step in the process is
to see what the Saints are going to do with him.
You know, do was this a hey, we just want
to sit you down, lets you clear your head, or
is this like a hey, we gotta we gotta try
to turn things around, which is sort of funny on
a team that you know people have row expectations for,
(19:03):
you know, are we going to see.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
Tyler Shuck is not the answer at all.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
I'm not saying I don't think the answers on their roster.
I think they have two bad quarterbacks right now. Spence
at least gives you the like he gives his.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
Pass catches the opportunity to make big plays, Like if
you're gonna take the easy throw, it's like, how many
times are gonna see him throw three yards? Like Tyler
Shruck should be well more developed than where the heck
he's at if he's this veteran quarterback, you know, in
terms of college football.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
But what happens.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
What happens if he gets first team snaps all week, right,
like as opposed to being thrown in the fire of
a game that was pretty much lost at.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
That point the entire offense. No disrespect to Chris o'
lobby because he's been balling in Juwan Johnson it's thirteen, Like,
it doesn't make a difference. There's nobody else out there
that has that enough ability to first team reps. Like
chemistry you build within you know, practice and everything. But
Tyler Shuck is not good. I'm here to say that.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Don't get it, don't get a twist. I'm not.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
I'm not sitting here trying to kape up for Tyler
Shuck or Spencer Rattler.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
I don't. I have no real strong.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Feeling about the state's quarterback situation other than what Florio said,
like their quarterback of the future is not well.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Clearly, I have Juwan Johnson in every league and I
need him thrive.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
So like there's you know, there's no there's no me
just saying that one guy should definitively be the answer
over the other guy. I just you know, I think
for our purposes now, I just need to know what
what is Kellen Moore thinking? You know, where is he
going to go? Next week? They're coming out to Los
Angeles to play the Rams, So whoever it is, you know,
they've got to deal with Jared Verse, right, They've got
(20:39):
to deal with those guys up front. And I just
want to know, can I have more confidence in Chris o'lave?
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (20:46):
You know, is where she She's still going to be
a saint this time next week.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Him and Olave potentially could be gone, right.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
I mean, there's just there's there are questions I want answered,
and so that's why I just want to know is
it Shuck or is it Rattler so that I can
other decisions, Like Kellen Moore, you do what you're gonna do,
but you let us know so that we can.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
All plan accordingly. That's all I.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Got don't play shuck.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Yeah, it was National tight Ends Day, which is like,
we should just called National tight Ends Weekend, right because
technically I guess it started on Thursday with Ronde Gadsden
going ham on the Vikings. But then I did look
at what we've gotten so far over the weekend, including
Thursday and the games on Sunday as well. So here
(21:29):
are the results so far from National tight Ends Day.
Tight Ends in week eight accounted for one hundred and
thirteen catches, two hundred and three yards, thirteen total touchdowns,
with Tucker Craft and Dallas Goddard each having two apiece.
And this is with Jake Ferguson, who is the tight
end one right now, getting one target, zero catches and
(21:52):
zero yards. I find that out the hard way because
my wife has Jake Ferguson on her team, and she
screened at you as.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
I was dinner last night. She's like, how did I
get a zero? Like?
Speaker 1 (22:03):
What on your whole team? She's like, no from Ferguson.
I was like, oh, I was like that was There's
a lot of points in that game. She's like he
got a zero. It's like, oh, like, welcome to Fantasy.
Sorry about your look. And then I can do about that.
But the tight end one gave you absolutely nothing. There's
still two tight ends left to play on this weekend.
Travis Kelce, who's the tight end eight, and Zach Ertz,
(22:26):
who's the tight end fourteen, will play on Monday Night Football.
Of course, it's not gonna have his normal quarterback with
Marcus Marty.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Schedule makers, the National tight End's Day is a day,
it is not a week, right, Travis Kelsey didn't play
on National tight End Day, Brock Bauers didn't play on
National tight End Day, Trey McBride didn't play on National
tight End Day. Like, let's schedule the best tight ends
to be playing on their day, right, Like that that's
my thinking.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Well, we know it's the third weekend in October, so
let's try to not have by mcgeddon on that weekend
going forward. Right, we sort of know when it's coming,
so we can sort of plan accordingly for that.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
So I'm not starting Darnell Washington hoping for a touchdown,
you know, Like, let's not do that. Trey McBride should
have been he should have been the main guy for
tight End Day.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
That's on you.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
That should be a general rule, not just a national.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
I was following the trend that Florio was calling a
three touchdown to the tight end position. I'm like, hey,
all three of these guys are going to be involved.
But we did not get a Darnell Washington touchdown.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Now, No, he didn't get much out of the hut
of the Steelers this past weekend.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Uh, yeah, it was. It was not great.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
John new almost had a nice catch, though he almost
had a good one.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Or shoes in hand, grenades, man or grenades. Let's take
a breaker, comeback talking about wtf is going on besides
Jake Ferguson giving you a donut plus some rookie running
backs of note from this weekend that's coming up next
on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. Well, as always, there's
a little bit of weirdness going on around the NFL
(24:04):
when it pertains the fantasy football things that we did
not anticipate seeing that either really good or really bad.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
And so we're going to.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Dive into that with a little bit of wtf is
going on? And we will start down in Houston. I
talked about it already. The forty nine er pass rush
was stuck in rush hour, apparently because they did not
get anywhere near CJ.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Stroud all game long. Stroud his first.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Three hundred yard passing game since Week five of last year.
I skeated Blue skyed whatever, posted.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Hey man, that's what they are, right, that's the whole things.
That's the sky. I don't know. I didn't make it
up anyway. That was following I posted.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
I posted on Blue Sky that at some point it
looked like CJ. Stroud and the Houston Texans had turned
into the Night into Warren Moon in the nineteen ninety
Houston Oilers, the way they were moving the ball up
and down the field in Florida. Is this just because
the Niner defense is awful right now? Or is it
possibly that maybe the Texans have figured something out.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
No, it's all about the matchup, And I think CJ.
Stroud is a straightforward of a quarterback as there is
in fantasy right Like I was saying, he was a
streamer last week because of the matchup, because if you
go through his game logs, his best games they were
previously the Titans and the Ravens and now the forty
nine Ers are all against teams that struggle to create pressure.
(25:35):
He was good under pressure yesterday if you want to
even say that they got pressure on him, and I
think this goes back to college with him. That was
my biggest concern with Stroud as a prospect was like
what is he going to look like under pressure? We
were talking about on the Sunday Show yesterday with Weis
and Yam, like trading liaronmy Tunsel was such a bad
idea and they kind of ruined this offense. But next
(25:56):
week they get the Broncos, who create the most pressure
in the NFL. So CJ. Stroud is one hundred percent
a sit for me in that one. But I think
and I think people are catching on now. The forty
nine ers are a team where you stream quarterbacks against,
like next week Jackson Dart gets them. I'm playing Jackson
Dart in all my leagues that I have him, because
teams that to me, I think even more than like
(26:17):
we always look at defenses like from a secondary land
point a point of view of how it matches up
with the quarterbacks. But for me, I always start with
pressure because if you don't have time to throw, you're
not going to be successful. If you do have time
to throw, more often than not, you will find success.
So forty nine ers to me have quickly become a
must play matchup when it comes to quarterbacks against them.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
I mean, I definitely think you had quarterbacks. So even
before that, I mean I was advocating play your running
backs against them because they have not been very strong
against the run.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Losing Fred Warner.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Definitely is not going to help that situation. But also
not having the most of means there's really nobody there
to get after the quarterbacks. So yeah, I definitely would.
Maybe next year co signed Jackson Dart maybe maybe, or
maybe the dead line they go out and get a
pass rusher.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Who knows things could happen.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Now, ok you good luck explaining this next one on
the rundown. By the way, I can't listen. I was
gonna crash yesterday. Listen.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
Can we skip forward to it Marcus and the Jon
Robinson because I literally was looking at this game and
I'm like, oh, yeah, this is full sin like b
Jeon Robinson against the Dolphins defense. They allow the most
rushing yards, And I'm thinking, like, Okay, Zach Robinson understands
the agenda, but Kirk Cousins, he ain't it, brother, And
I honestly went back and tried to watch, like what happened.
(27:33):
Maybe the Dolphins defensive line, you know, maybe they stepped
up and played a little better, But it was just
weird plays in usage between Bijon and Tyler Aljier, Like
both of their longest runs, Like Algier's longest run was
six yards, and then Bjon's longest runing was seven six seven.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
I didn't even do that.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
But at the end of the day, it's like, I
hope this is an out liar. The fumbling was like
weird to see because like it's the second one this season.
And then it's like there's usually games where Zach Robinson
hits that switch for Bjon Robinson, where okay, he's not
getting it done on the ground, he's averaging less than
four yards per carry or three yards of carry or
however how bad it is for Bejeon on the ground
(28:12):
to where he'll end up having like one hundred receiving
yards in the game. So where was this type of
usage for him in a game that obviously needed some
spark and put the ball in your best player's hands,
I mean, Drake London's out.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
What happened?
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Like, I seriously didn't understand how the Dolphins went, how
did Tua put a four touchdowns? By the way, I mean,
like and nobody saw that coming.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
He saw over the line.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
Apparently Atlanta must got some good food or something to
get them guys motivated to play, because I have no
idea how this game turned out this way. To look
at the score with Bejeon less.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Than six points, Tyler l'siar ran more routes than Beijon yesterday,
like and no world, should that ever be a thing?
Speaker 1 (28:54):
That is why b John Robinson had a grand total
of twelve touches for forty eight total scrimmage yards.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
I don't wanna, I don't want to say who, but
someone that is very we all were I'll tell you
guys off air, but someone that we all trust in
their insight. Uh texted me yesterday and was like that
this usage for Bijon is a fire bull offense. Yes,
because it's been multiple games where like they're not using
him properly, like and this calls them wins.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
I mean, especially when you're the head coach calls him
the best player in football and somehow you're not just
feeding him with touches.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
I mean enough, Tyler Elsiere, man, like I get it
that's your guy or whatever, Like enough he's a plotter.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Man.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Him and Zach Sharbona should like shake hands. They should
just you know, be on a text change.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
I was just gonna say, like it's it's reminded me
of seattle Man, where it's obviously Bijon is still good
enough where you use him.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
But like ugh mm, things that were a little more positive,
especially really for your club, Florio.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
The Bills went out and just hammered the Panthers this weekend,
and James Cook was just bananas.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Eleven point four yards per carry.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Against a defense that to that point had been fairly good.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Against the run.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Is it time for the Bills to just build the
whole plane out of James Cook right now?
Speaker 3 (30:21):
They kind of don't have a choice because I will say,
like Josh isn't playing his best, but they are real.
There was a play yesterday where they had eleven seconds
and no one got open. Eleven Like that is a
lifetime in the NFL. But James Cook most rushing yards
by a Bills player, I'm gonna say the name since
(30:42):
oj Simpson. Most yards were carried by a running back
since Derrick Henry back in twenty eighteen, fourth player ever
to have this stat line on less than twenty touches. Like,
he is incredible. He was worth every cent they paid him.
And I said it like a few weeks ago on
Fantasy Live. There's maybe like five or six running backs
I'd rather have over him rest of season. And yeah,
(31:05):
there's not a whole lot of analysis here besides he's
just amazing.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
It is wild though, because before this year they never
seemed interested in using him kind of as a true
workhorse back.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
They would use him, and.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
He was definitely the RB one, but they always see
the one to get other guys in. Now, since they
paid him, they're like, well you got paid man, like
you got tote the rock.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
The thing is like they're still not fully using him,
Like there's still no meat on the bone here, like
Ty Johnson is getting every third down snap and stuff,
and Ray Davis was involved more than I expected yesterday.
That was probably scoreboard related, but there's still meat, Like
there's still opportunity for him to even exceed the usage
he has seen, which when they were all zero to
(31:46):
two in those two games, Bills fans were very much
still pointing that out.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
So, uh, well, we continue, especially for folks who drafted
James Cook Florio.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
But be honest, you're a little nervous in that first
half though, with the Panthers defense, how they're how they
were handling.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
I was at no point.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Nervous, Lion.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
It was Fame. It was twelve three like halfway through.
It wasn't because of Josh. Josh are struggling. Bro. Josh
did have played great. I said that, but I what
he was the real predicting this game was James Cook
is still a Bill and Andy Dalton is still their quarterback.
Ye Andy stinks, That's what I was gonna say, he stinks.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Andy Dalton continues to help the Bills, continues to please
Bill's Mafia.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
The gift one way or shout out to him, man,
I didn't even connect the two.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
The the the two top quarterbacks in Bill's Mafia are
Josh Allen and Andy Dalton.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, the team give.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
My lifetime.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Mesgust former Bill now Patriot maccollins. The coin just came
out of nowhere. Seven catches, eighty nine yards. I mean,
you know we have spent this year. We talked about
the Patriots in their passing game. You know, we're for
Stefan Diggs to have big games. Kay Shawan Boody shows
up and makes big catches. Hunter Henry does things in
(33:05):
the offense. Mac Hollins, I mean doesn't even gotta pay
attention to the Barefoot bandit.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Now, this is typical behavior by the Patriots. This has
been chasing of what they can do each week. I mean,
next week is I'm gonna say it now, it's Pop
Douglas week. Next week start them, but I mean your
starting lineup because it's gonna be Pop Douglas week. This
is the most annoying situation because I started Stefan Digs
for him the hold me down door in the Bipocalypse
and guess what, it didn't pan out and I had
(33:32):
an opportunity.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Oh great, yeah, oh that, Oh yeah, he did so
much work.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
I want more, Marcus. He had back to back games
of over one hundred yards. Where's the energy there? He
is your offense, he is your wide receiver one.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
It was purely powered by hate. If we're being off.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
I absolutely love that every single week should be a
hate game for Stefon Diggs. Give them the ball, let
him run beyond the sticks like I'm so sick and
tired of trying to like pinpoint what the Patriots can
do each and every week, and Matt Collins going off.
You know what I said when I looked up and
saw that, and I was like, typical, Yeah, that makes sense,
Like it's not like I SI OneD.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
It, Like what the heck?
Speaker 4 (34:13):
No, this shouldn't even be on the docket for what
the f is going on? Because it's the Patriots, bro.
And then oh, your boy Traveon Henderson, Oh, we.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Got to update the middle blower.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Well we'll get to that. We will get to that. Well,
we'll get we'll get to that in just a second.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
He's going up. The thing about the Patriots is like,
I think Drake May is a top two or three
MVP candidate right now on a matchup proof. Yeah yeah,
but he's the only must start on this offense.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Yeah kind of is yeah, which is sort of wild.
I mean, like we can't trust the pass catchers, the
running back situation is weird. But Drake May you can
count on him pretty much every week.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
So you know, if I said, pop Douglas Austin Hooper
next week, it's gonna be Austin Hooper week. Next week,
he is going to blow up for like one hundred
and twenty yards. Let's just have this on tape.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Is Javone Baker still there? Oh?
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Man?
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Is he?
Speaker 1 (35:06):
I can't wait for all the posts next week. They
just like Austin b hooping like that's what's going to
be just a lot of all over social media. See
it now, Since we're talking about the Patriots, it's perfect
way to segue to the rookie running back reports and
three guys of note in this one, Travion Anderson. Since
we were on the Patriots, let's start there. Ten Carrey's
(35:27):
seventy five yards flor we I mean, we'd all been
sort of joking about this right that it was going
to happen after the point that everybody had given up,
Right when people were just like it's over, it's done.
I'm I'm either benching him or maybe I'm rage dropping him.
That's when it would happen. Ten for seventy five. Are
there gonna be a lot of people rushing to the
waiver wire to get him? And are they going to
(35:48):
be disappointed next week when it goes back to what
it was?
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Probably because he look, I'm going to talk nicely about Trevion,
but that goal. It wasn't goal on it was a
red zone of fun. But it was like the Jon
type fumble, Like Bijon doesn't fumble often, but when he does,
he like throws it forward.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Today it's like hilarious.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
Right, Yes, that's what Travion did and it costs him
points and then I don't believe we I'd have to
go back and double check. But watching that game, I
don't think we saw Henderson again the rest of the way.
So that is concerning because if it was Remandre, Mike
Rabol would have a whole word doc typed up about
how it was in his fault. But since it's Travion,
(36:28):
he has to get benched. But the thing, and I've
said this for weeks now, like they are not using
him properly. Right, he had three carries on inside runs
yesterday seven yards. He had seven on outside runs, nearly
ten yards per carry. He turned those into sixty eight
yards and he looked the part. And that is why
(36:48):
I don't understand they're not using him in the passing game,
which is frustrating. I still think Travion is someone you
want on your roster, but I'm not going to sit
here and say like he's back to being a must
players something like that. But I do think the arrow
is definitely pointing up and I'm curious how how high
he climbs on the middle meter.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Well before we get to that too, to bolster your point, Yeah,
that fumble was his last snap of the ball game.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
So he hates him. Mike Rabel hates him.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Vermondre could straight up hand the ball to the other
team and like it's not his fault. Man, Remondre can
step back, drop back like a quarterback and throw it
in the parking lot. He would not care. Like He's like,
you could do whatever you want, bro. He'd be like,
did you see how tight that spiral was?
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Though at least that's not a turnover, it's just an
incomplete path.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
I will say Stevenson did have almost the catch of
the game.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
He was out of bounds. Yes, yeah, that was awesome.
So I like Stevenson. He's a good guy.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Well, speaking of rookies that folks had kind of given
up on. Where's the middle meter? That's right, the middle
meter the the I will say this, it's still know
or does he at least get to be hen do No?
Speaker 4 (38:02):
He No, he's he's hen No, Like I was thinking,
like maybe we could just push him up probably two spots, right,
this is the flex area where we could start considering
talking to him about flex. This was a good performance
by him on the ground. The problem is that fantasy
managers were not able to benefit from it because he
either A was on the waiver wire or B on
the bench. So it's like annoying, Like I want to
(38:24):
boost him all the way up because we know how
much of a good player he is.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
But he is.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
Toxic, man, Like I cannot have him. I mean, like, honestly,
he's not toxic.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
He is toxic for my team. He's toxic.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
The relationship is toxic, bro, because I love watching his film.
I like going back and seeing all the hype, all
the videos to mixtape videos on YouTube, Like, yo.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
This dude is electric.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Like I named him one of the most electric fine
running backs in sports entertainment, but we have yet to
see that.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
I definitely broke that.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
But I just.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
Yeah, she's gonna But listen, I want to say this, right,
if Traveon Henderson goes out next week in surprises us,
all right, if he goes out there and has like
one of the same games he just had without the fumble. Like,
I don't even care about the fantasy points because they
only had five. I just want to see this type
of usage, this type of production, and for him to
have the opportunity to look the part. That's just my
(39:20):
biggest thing.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
Here, all right, all right, So we'll see if he
gets more opportunity, whether or not he's.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Able to surpass I want to say, surpassed from Mondracks.
That's probably gonna happen, but.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
At least close the gap between him and Ramandre.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
But RJ.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
Harvey another one that pretty much people had tapped out
on because he was really getting nothing. And then yesterday
lakwan eight touches, fifty one scrimmage yards and three touchdowns.
I saw the post from our friends over at rodal
World that basically said RJ. Harvey scores three times for
your one and six fantasy team. Because chances are, if
you've been rolling with RJ. Harvey consistently, you do not
(39:57):
have a good record. You are not in playoff contention.
And somehow if you caught this lightning in a bottle,
congrats to you, I mean, Lakwani. The touchdowns were great,
only eight touches, though, that feels like it's gonna be
hard to really still get behind toxic.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
Another toxic relationship I can't wait to get away from because,
to be honest, I'm more on Harvey's side than a
Trevion Anderson because I started Harvey because I'm like, all right, look,
it's the Cowboys. Boy's going to get them in strike
conditions a bunch of times, and we know how bad
the Cowboys defense is. He could bust one off, and
that's exactly what happened. But it's more so the usage.
Why does he only have eight touches? This should be
the game you should unleash Harvey. I wanted Harvey to
(40:34):
put up a forty burger because he probably could have
if he would have gotten more than eight touches. So
I do think that the dynamic of trying to trust
Sean Payton, trying to trust this backfield, it's still very
like murky, like you can't really pinpoint of like, hey,
I can start Harvey as a flex this week because no,
because Sean Payton knows that you're starting him this week.
He listens to the pod. Probably he's probably a friend
(40:54):
of the show that we do not have on. But
Sean Payon, if you were hearing this, RJ. Harvey is
good at foot, give him the ball.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
Stop.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
It's also hard though, when you got JK Dobbins running
for like seven and a half yards per carry too.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Why he did yesterday?
Speaker 4 (41:09):
Why did he strip him of his touchdowns? Why didn't
JK get some opportunity to get some touchdowns? I mean
that that was an issue.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
So it makes it where you almost don't want to
start either of them. I had a Broncos fan and
my mentions to yesterday and it's conspiraed like tinfoil hat,
but they were like, Sean Payton is trying to decrease
the market because JK Dobbins is on a one year
deal so that he could get him back more affordable
(41:36):
next season. And I was like, you know what, you
might be onto something he would play?
Speaker 1 (41:41):
He would play the four D chess like that, Like
that does seem like a thing that he might do.
Speaker 4 (41:46):
I'm seeing a lot of running back sliding, like Oli
Gordon slid a couple times in that Miami game, of
like avoiding context. So I think like guys are starting
to be more aware of their body and the value
of the running back like doorability gets you jobs.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
Man, it does. It absolutely does for sure.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
As we're considu on our rookie running back to Chad here,
Woody marks one hundred and eleven scrimmage yards. Got it
done both on the ground and through the air.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
Is he one?
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Is the officially Florio the RB one now in Houston?
And I guess spinning this even further forward, is he
the guy? Because the Texans haven't out on Joe Mixon's
contract after this season, they can cut him.
Speaker 2 (42:28):
With fairly minimal cap hit. Is what he marks the
guy now there for the Texans.
Speaker 3 (42:35):
I think long term he has the best chance of
being their guy because who knows what's going on with
Joe Mixon and Nick Chubb. This is maybe his last
year or something. But it's hard to say he is
the guy right now because Nick Chubb they split snaps
pretty much down the middle. But Nick Chubb had seventeen
(42:55):
carries to what he's eleven. Wood He had more routes
and targets and obviously is more explosive. But Nick Chubb's
involvement is something that is going to keep Woody Marx
as a flex range play and someone that until we
see him get more because we've been had before. Like
I know, La Kwan went on a whole rant about
(43:17):
how we were like following the tea leaves and stuff,
and he was one hundred percent right, and then it
looked like it was Nick Chubb again. Those last couple
of weeks were starting to look more and more like
it was Woody and then they split here. So it
makes it where I don't think you played Chubb unless
you're desperate, because there's not a lot of bursts there anymore.
But Marx has big playability. He's used in the passing
(43:39):
game more so. His floor and ceiling I think are higher,
but it's still Chubb's involvement still makes him only a
flex option until we see him really fully take over
this backfield, which I think there's a lot of potential here.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
I think so too.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Of the update on Joe Mixon is as such. After
the game to beat oll Ryan's was asked if he
had an update about Mixon's return, and his response was,
I do not.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
That's nice.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
That after this, can.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
We do a wellness check because I mean, yeah, we
need like some proof of life, just a you know,
a quick social media video something just just let us
know you're still there, Joe. But yeah, I don't think
the Texans are planning on having Joe Mixon. It seems
like they have their moving forward, and it just makes
me think that that might be it for mixing with
the Texans. I'd be surprised if they bring him back
(44:32):
for next year. Stranger things have happened, but that's sort
of what I'm looking at right now.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
This is one of the stranger potential end of careers
we've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
Like, right, it's just it's wild. Just there's been no word,
no updates, no nothing.
Speaker 4 (44:46):
I got a couple end of careers on my head
right now.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
I mean, yeah, you could.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
You could rip your jersey off and then like you know,
hype the crowd out on.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
Your way through the exactly end of career.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
You could.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
You could Davis and just walk out of the locker
room at halftime in week one, just getting your car
and drive away. I mean, there are some weird ones,
but this one, this one is very high in the
intrigue list for sure.
Speaker 4 (45:09):
Dynasty leagues that I leave or want to leave, I
send the Antonio Brown meme length.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
I'm out.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
I like you guys are not active. It's biting them out.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
I might have to steal that from you this offseason.
We'll see. Anyway, take a.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
Quick break, come back. We got some guys to drop,
some guys to add. It's waiver wire time next coming
up on the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast. All right, as
everybody's getting ready to make some waiver claims for Week nine,
coming up, we got some guys to drop, some guys
to add. I have learned my lesson. I'm gonna start
with the drop guys because it's the beginning the show.
(45:43):
On a more positive note, See, I can be taught.
Uh So here in the drop zone, laquad, who is
going back into the free agent pool.
Speaker 4 (45:51):
I need the fantasy streets to tap in, and I
need chat. Come on, come closer. Listen, stop handing me
my DMS about Jerry Judy. There is no question in
any desire to say, hey, should I start such and
such or Jerry Judy. My response to every single DM
I've gotten when I've seen Jerry Judy is why is
he still rostered? Seventy three percent of the league's he
(46:12):
has still rostered. Drop this man. He is catching forty
percent of his targets. Drop this man. This guy's not
even the wide receiver one on his team. Drop this man,
So please, folks, it's time let him go. There should
be no reason why he's rostered in this many leasts
because I don't see any arrow that's pointing up for
him to be fantasy relevant. He has one game this
(46:32):
season over ten Fantasy points. That was in Week one. Folks,
we're heading towards week nine. You are obviously not going
to the playoffs. You are obviously now even looking or
even smelling the playoffs, or you even have the idea
that you could win another game if you are still
rostering Jerry Judy and asking if he should be started
and ran.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
What's funny about that is, you know, I put together
the rundown, I send it out.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
I left this part blanks. I just want to let
you guys get in there.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
And get your first cracks at who who to put
in there? And so I was like, okay, let me
go Phil, and I was like looking, I was like, dude,
Jerry Judy, And I looked like.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
I was going to put Jerry Judy as well? Why
he still a roster. The only the only saving grace
I could think of is maybe he gets traded. That's
the only thing I can I.
Speaker 4 (47:18):
Wants him, who wants him? He's cheap Patriots, He'll be
a Patriot, let's honest.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
Leave the Bills. That's who came to mind.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
I mean, he had one short run late in twenty
twenty two with the Broncos. He had the one run
with Joe Flacco with the Browns when pretty much everybody
else was injured and there really were no other options
for Flacco to throw the ball to. Beyond that, there's
been nothing in Jerry Judy's career to make you believe.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
Steve Smith was RIGHTM like six games last year was fun.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
Yeah, I forgot about that.
Speaker 1 (47:57):
So yeah, but I do love that. That's very funny
that all three of us were like, Jerry Judy's got
to go.
Speaker 3 (48:03):
He's like fifty six roster or something like that.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
Yeah, I feel that's just I don't know, it's just
I don't know. I'm like, I'm really trying to come
up with a reason why, and I just you know what,
here's what, here's why. Because nobody is starting Jerry Judy, right,
so he's just sitting on people's benches and you look
every week like you just you just gloss over him.
Right when you're making roster moves, you gloss over him
(48:28):
because he'll give you, you know, seven points eight points.
Like it's now he's putting up a whole bunch of
ones and zeros, right, Like it's not that.
Speaker 3 (48:38):
He's an anchor guy.
Speaker 1 (48:39):
You just you just forget about him, and so he
just sits there on the bench and you don't bother
to make the move.
Speaker 3 (48:45):
And then you know, I rather roster to two people.
You got right, You sell yourself that in a buyer injury.
I could plug Jerry Judy in, but all he's doing
is taking out a valuable roster. Just take it up
straight bad.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
He's bad, man, Flora, who's your drop guy this week?
Speaker 3 (49:01):
This one makes me sad. It's key on Coleman. I
think it's partially on Keon, partially on Joe Brady, partially
on Josh Allen, but it's not leading to success. Like
I posted his route tree from this past week on
Twitter this morning, his two of his three catches were
(49:21):
across the middle. And it's something I've said a lot
this year, is like they have tethered him to kind
of be like the outside X And I think they
are simply putting too much on a young player's plate,
and I think he would be like if Khalil Shakir
wasn't there and they could use him like Shakir, I
think Coleman would play really well, but Shakie's better in
that role than he is, So Coleman is kind of
(49:43):
being forced, in my opinion, to play a role that
I don't believe he is ready to play just yet.
There's a lot of contested catches there. He's had some success,
but it's not a really way to live successfully in fantasy.
They need to scheme some easy to for him, and
they just seem not to do that. Like the only
(50:03):
time Keon heavily gets utilized is when they're trailing, and
it doesn't make anything. Like I do a Bills podcast
where I talk about this literally weekly, like give him
opportunities early in the game, Like every opening drive should
have a designed key on Coleman pass, but it does it.
And that's one thing that Bills are really struggling with.
I think it's partially on Josh, largely on Brady, but
(50:23):
they're not able to scheme up guys open downfield. And
on top of all of that, it seems increasingly likely
to me because the Bills came out and said that
this game was going to be everything to determine if
they need a wide receiver or not they need a
wide receiver. It was very evident watching that game yesterday.
So I do think they go out and make a trade,
and I think that dings key on Coleman's value. I
(50:45):
think we'll have some big games. It's just going to
be very tough to predict when those are going to be.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
Week one, he had one hundred and twelve yards and
you look phenomenal, you me, cam Wolf. A lot of
folks thought, Okay, this is it. This is where the
breakouts come in. In the six games combined since then,
it's one hundred and fifty five yards.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
So nice.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
Now one of them is also a game that they
were losing. I believe like his second biggest game like that,
that's they need to be down in the second half
to be like, let's start getting Keyon involved.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
His second biggest game is forty five yards too, So yeah,
that's that's not great. So yeah, it appears that it's
not gonna happen, certainly not this year. You know, we'll
see what the future is for Keon Coleman. But I
do think at this point you can sort of move
on from that one mine And I'll put the caveat here, right,
this is probably for ten team leagues.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
Twelve is borderline fourteen.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Team leagues you're holding on to Nick Chubb still, But
if you were in a ten team for sure, I
think you can move on from Nick Chubb. Twelve team leagues,
your mileage may vary on that sort of thing. But
as we talked about, Woody Marx is taking over as
the RB one and Nick Chubb is sort of kind
of giving you those anchor vibes right where it's not
(51:59):
nothing that he's given you, but it's also not enough
to make you excited about putting him in your lineup.
And I think at this point you can go out
and find someone that might be on the waiver wire
that has a little bit more up So, I mean, look,
maybe maybe you were in a league where Tyrone Tracy
is on the on the waiver wire, maybe he was dropped,
(52:19):
right like, that's an opportunity to go and give you
somebody with a little bit more upside there. There just
have to be better options, and from a football standpoint,
it's been great to see Nick Chubb try and resurrect
his career, extend his career, but when you watch him
run the ball, he's definitely not the same guy.
Speaker 2 (52:37):
The injuries have taken their toll on him.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
It's unfortunate, but this is sort of what it is,
and the Texans seem to be turning now more to
the younger guy. It would he marks. So, like I said,
if you're in a fourteen team league, you're still holding
on a Nichubb because the waiver wire is probably bear,
But you know twelve ten team leagues for sure you
can move on from him at this point. So those
(53:00):
guys we are dropping, let's try to turn that frown
upside down and talk about the waiver wire guys who
might help us out in Week nine and beyond Florido.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Do the owners please Trevor.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
Mid Lawrence because of the matchup. They get the Raiders
next week, so I think he's in play as a
streaming option. Joe Flacco. The Bengals are just every week
going to be in high scoring games because of their defense,
and they get the Bears, who I'm not really afraid of.
Tua coming off of that hot game he had the
other day. They get the Ravens on Thursday night, so
(53:31):
I think he's in play as a streaming option. Aaron
Rodgers didn't live up to the expectations, but he's been
safe floor and then J J McCarthy just if you're
in a deeper league and wants some upside at quarterback,
Tyrone Tracy and Woody Marx, if they are out there
in your leagues, to me, are the biggest payoffs. I
would go Marks first, but he's a little bit more rostered.
(53:53):
Bam Knight. Look, it might only be one more week,
but he is a really good matchup next week. Taj
Spears is taking more work and just looking better than
Tony Pollard. Tank Bigsby. I added this one because he
ran really well after Saquon was hurt. The Eagles are
on by next week, but just in case, if you
have Saquon, I think it's really smart to add Bigsby
this week. Dylan Sampson, even though I did just see
(54:14):
that Judkins is day to day, and then Isaiah Davis.
He's on by, but he had a lot of usage
this past week. Samaj p Ryan had a lot of usage,
and then some backups that are an injury away from
being the lead back, Devin Singletary, Ali Gordon, Jayden, Blue receivers,
Tees Johnson, Tamary DK, Kayshawan Boody, Darius Slayon, Troy Franklin,
(54:37):
Alec Pierce, Christian Watson, all players that are pretty similar
and the floor is not that safe, but they bring
upside and then Noel Malik Washington, Jaden Higgins rounds that
out and then tight ends shout out to LQ Gatsten
just at Lakwan tell his dad not to start him again.
Then a couple of New York guys and Theo Johnson
and Mason Taylor getting more involvement, and Colson Lovelin because
(55:00):
they get the Bengals next week. So if Cole Comett
is out, and I know you were texting about this yesterday,
Marcus love win very much. So as a streaming option,
if no Comet this week.
Speaker 1 (55:09):
I'm going to take a mild victory lap here if
I could on Chim Ray DK because it's back to
back weeks. It's basically since since the Titans started kind
of shuffling things around. First Brian Callahan gave up the
play calling duties. Then Brian Callahan gave up all of
his duties. Since that has happened, Since that has happened,
(55:32):
DK is starting to get some more work. Like before,
he could barely get on the field for whatever reason
they were I guess favoring Tyler Lockett over him. But
since they've had the change in play caller, they're starting
to use DK more and they're getting him, you know,
kind of downfield. He's not necessarily a field stretcher, but
they're using him more kind of as an intermediate pass catcher.
(55:53):
Cam Ward is seeming to find a connection with him.
So back to back weeks, I mean Week seven, he
had seventy yards a touchdown, gave you sixteen points.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
Yesterday he had.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
What seven catches I think it was for a ninety
three yards no touchdown. But again back to back sixteen
point weeks. So I mean, you're talking about a guy
who right now is basically free on the waiver wire.
I mean, at this moment, he has rostered in fewer
than one percent of NFL dot Com league.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
So he is out there.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
And it's starting to get some more opportunity on a
team that you know is going to throw the football
a lot. So a guy with real flex potential in
a lot of leagues right now, you know, go go
get him, because I think he's worthwhile.
Speaker 4 (56:35):
I'd even say he's the wide receiver one. I think
Ridley should be on the move because he's doing all
the routes and doing everything that we've seen from Cavimberley
before injury. And then DK has just kind of come
in and be like I'm him, let's do it, let's
ride well.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
And the other part of this is, I mean, you
know we by we, I mean me, we're excited about
lec Iomanner at the start of the year.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
Let's not forget DK was drafted about thirty spots ahead
of him.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
That's forgotten.
Speaker 2 (57:02):
Yeah, that's easily forgotten. They the Titans drafted DK.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
First and then they got Io Manner a little bit later.
So I mean that's sort of worth paying attention to.
Speaker 4 (57:12):
Yeah, Like DK pushed Lockett a worst team now, like
he was like, all right, I'm out and this guy
is obviously performing at a.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
High the way.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
Was going to sign Yeah, exactly sure, that was obvious.
Absolutely was obvious.
Speaker 1 (57:27):
So so yeah, DK a guy that's that's definitely worth
looking at.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
On on waiver wires for sure, So there you go.
Speaker 1 (57:33):
That'll do it for this this edition of the NFL
Fantasy Football Podcast. Stay happy, safe and healthy, do good
and live well enjoying money to night football, everybody. We
will talk to you again on Wednesday, but I don't
(58:03):
know
