Speaker 1 (00:13):
Everybody.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome to the NFL Fantasy Football Show. It's me and
your man, MG Marcus Grand joined by Michael Florio and
Lakwan Jones.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Welcome to berg Fest that's what we're calling it, which
is like basically the German word for hump day.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
I think exactly. It's kind of crazy, right. That was
cool to find out in the chat. Hey, shout out
to the chat for that.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Hey, I know a good German restaurant. You guys want
to go get dust Boot one day.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
German for the boat.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
It's no, it's the Big Boot. It's like six beers
in one.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Beer fest. That was a lot of fun. We had
a lot to do here on the show.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Today, we're gonna break down the first edition of the
Ben Johnson Bowl between the Bears and the Lions. We'll
give you our week two bounce back candidates, and we'll
decide if a rookie running back in Washington fits the
bill as a fantasy starter.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
You see what I did there? You're good? You you
like that. You like that.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
But first, before we dive into any of that, we
will get you with some fantasy headlines. Start with one
that we sort of talked about on the Monday Show.
But kind of an update there, George Kittle dealing with
a hamstring injury. He's gonna go to injured reserve, which
means he's out for at least the next four games.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
So we sort of.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Came to the consensus that if you're looking for help,
the Niner roster probably not the place to go. I
don't think VICD I'm settled down. I'm sorry man, Jake Tanjas,
Luke Ferrell. Not the guys who are going to help
you out. I'm not gonna ask you any questions about
it because you're not gonna be You're just not gonna
be fair minded. So a lot of guys out there,
(01:45):
any I don't know if there are any waiver wire
guys that tight end that you think are worthwhile.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I mean, if Harold Bannon Junior is out there, I
think he should be grabbed. I think Juwan Johnson. I
think there's just a thing going with Spencer Rattler and
Juwan Johnson, Like that's the apple of his eye, you know. So, uh,
one of those two would be my top options. But
if you're looking forty for like what this means for
the forty nine ers, I think it means you play
Ricky Piersoll. If Jawan Jennings suits up, maybe you go
with him as well. But it all depends on Brock.
(02:11):
You guys are pretty beat up right now.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Oh yeah, the Niners are in a bad way because
Brock Berty is trying to figure out if he's going
to play, whether or not it's going.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
To be Mac Jones this week. Let's go Mack.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
The good news is they got the Saints on the schedule,
so if there's ever a week for them to be
beat up.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
This is sort of the way I talked up Mac
Jones on Fantasy No you didn't. We've been segment like
one week guy only I was like, if yours ever
a week for Mac Jones, it's this week Mac Michael
Corkle getting it done.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
So I guys go down to Duvall where the Jaguars
made a move this week they trade away Tank Bigsby
to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fifth and sixth round
pick in twenty twenty six. My first thought is Howie
Roseman's going to turn this into some sort of fleecing again, because.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
That's what he always does.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
But the more important thing is we look at this
from a fancy perspective, lak one, Does this mean we're
rooting for two in Jacksonville? Is it be shall Tuton
season down there in jacks.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Now I hear the fantasy streets touting for Touton. I mean,
no puting intended there, but I hear it. It's loud.
But I want to pump the brakes real quick because
last week he played a lot of the special team snaps.
And then we look at the other guy, the Quinton
Allen Junior aka LQ. That's twin right there, so you
see how he capitalized the Q in his name that
we are outside man. But I do think he is
(03:23):
going to be the guy that goes under the radar
to be a piece of this backfield because how he
is in this passing game is going to be very,
very exclusive because I think him as the third down back.
Last Sunday kind of showed that. So he's going to
play the backup role regardless of what the fancy streets
are saying, because I do think that Touton has opportunity
to make noise if given opportunity. But they just picked
(03:46):
up Cody Schrader off of the Rams practice squad. I
think he's the biggest threat out of the entire backup
group there that can make some noise to be behind
Travis Etn who is being looked at as the workhorse
right now.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
The Rams didn't want him going to do something.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I mean, you guys didn't want them either, but he
good when he had their horns on.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
What I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Of all the issues of forty nine ers, half running
back actually isn't one of them for the first time
in a while. On the other side, Biggsby going to
Philadelphia obviously Saquon is there. Does does Tank Bigsby have
any real value with the Eagles?
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Did Sequon get hurt walking into practice.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
That I'm aware of? Did Jalen hurts, Not that I'm
aware of.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
No, He's a really handcuff. That's what any backup running
back would be. Because Saquon is gonna get so much
and if whatever Saquon doesn't get near the goal line,
Jalen hurts does you know, Like, it's not like they're
going to bring in another back. Shipley had height he
three carries last week, you know, Like I think Bigsby,
if anything happens to Saquon, he becomes a muss play
(04:42):
but it it solely is in that situation.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
It's sort of wild how Tank Bigsby went from being like,
hey man, this dude could be a sleeper RB two
on fantasy to like.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, you can put him back in waivers now.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah, it's sadly probably a rap for Tank Bigsby in
the short term, unless, as you mentioned, something happens. It's
one of the front line guys there in Philadelphia, and
you can pour a little bit out for the Will
Shipley fantasy dream as well.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
It's time to see who will deliver.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Presented by Uber Eats taking a look at Thursday night
football between the Commanders and the Packers from Lambeau Field.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Here are the first touchdown odds for that ball game.
Very little shock.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Josh Jacobs, he who is just a touchdown machine with
the best odds there. Everybody else coming in right about
the same. Jaden Daniels, Jaden Reid draft, Jaden McLaurin.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I'm sorry, there's only two Jayden's on there, Tucker Crafts,
Terry McLaurin. The other guys there.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
The Commanders should be higher than the Packers, potentially top
two pass catchers. We don't even know if it's their
top two every week, No kind.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Of man, Where's Bill? I think he scored the first touchdown?
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Where is Bill?
Speaker 2 (05:47):
People get into that in just a little Bill. We'll
get into that in just a bit. Let's talk about
the pass catchers though, right because that is a big story.
Was not a great week for Terry McLaurin. Obviously missed
pretty much all of training camp as he was holding
in trying to get a new contract the Green Bay Packers.
Last week, Lakwan shut down that Detroit Lions offense. Does
that give you any concern about Terry McLaurin, Deebo, Samuel,
(06:10):
the rest of the Washington receivers.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
The Packers is the top five defense, and that was
without Michael Parsons. So I do think there is going
to be a concern there for these wide receivers.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
But I'm not.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Panicking yet when we talk about Terry McLaurin, because it
is a little concerning though, when he leads a team
in routes and he's only targeted him on thirteen percent
of them, so he was the cardio king of the week.
So I'm looking at this like, oh wow, so what
does that mean? You over and look at Deebo. It
looks like that connection between him and Jayden Daniels the
last couple of months have been on full display in
(06:41):
Week one, so Cliff Kingsbury and obviously the coaching staff,
they want to utilize Debo at the maximum capacity. We
saw him grunning downfield, getting little screens, everything that we
liked about Deebo when he was with your forty whiners.
Like I do think that at the end of the day,
Deebo becomes a strong flex candidate just based on he's
going to have that target volume and the connection between
him and JD is just flourishing right now.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
We're gonna put it. We're gonna have a jar that
you have to put a nick every time you say
forty one.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
It just I can't say I'm gonna be saying by
like multiple lunches by. It's gonna be lunchable.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Hello on Terry. If anyone's freaking out, Oh.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah, absolutely, Bilo Bilot, I mean you heard Lakwan though,
talk about Bill right, Jacory Krossky merrit He was the
new hotness, especially at the end of training camp once
the commanders traded Brian Robinson to San Francisco. Had a
really nice first week. You and I both expressed a
little bit of skepticism about it. This is a good
Packer defense, a good Packer run defense. Would you start
(07:37):
JCM this week?
Speaker 4 (07:39):
It's very option based on my opinion, I think he's
in the flex range and on Fantasy Live, me and
Rank both had him around like the sixty thrank player
amongst flex options, which is running backswide receivers, tight ends.
Because of a couple of different things. One, he played
a third of the snaps last week. He looks really good.
I think there's a lot of upside to be had
(07:59):
with Bill going forward if he's going to get a
lot of the volume. But Deebo gets involved in the
rushing game, Jayden Daniels runs, and on top of that,
it's a good Packers defense and it's a short week
for a rookie in his second NFL game. That to
me is concerning and I think should be factored into
your decision making.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah, I'm very curious about you know how this is
going to go. I know a lot of folks excited
about him. I would tend to take a wait and see,
especially because on a Thursday, the last thing I want
on a Thursday night as a guy that I don't
feel great about putting him in the lineup, and then
suddenly you get like a seven and you're just You're
stuck looking at a seven point game like on.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
A third, like your entire weekend is destroyed. It's like
you're already trending towards a loss once your Thursday night
is ruined like that.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Like seriously, I will say in one deeper league, I'm
flexing him over t J Hawkinson this.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Week, Oh Spicyja Hockinson helped me get He.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Did nothing for me in week one. You know what I said?
Speaker 1 (08:50):
He did very little.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
He did just enough to help me beat producer hyth
Than Kalani by points two points point two. So not
only did Hytheam lose by point two points, he also
had to watch his bears go down and on Monday night,
Welcome to the football season, everybody. We know one last
one here about this game with Kwan. How many Packers
would you consider starting? I know Josh Jacobs is won
for sure.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Beyond that, nobody really because come on now, Jordan Love
is even a question. This guy completed ten different passes
to ten different receivers. So I'm looking at this as like,
my guy, you had less than two hundred yards, How
is that.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Possible spreading it around like that? Why are you spreading
it so thin? So therefore you look at.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
It Jayden Reed, Can you trust him in your starting lineup?
Speaker 4 (09:37):
No?
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Because he's playing less than forty percent of the snaps.
Romeo Dobbs seems like the safest floor here if you're
going to flex him, because he's the only one that
played over fifty percent of the snaps. So I'm looking
at this like, Okay, now, Matthew Golden, I mean, come on,
do we really trust Matthew Golden. He's a rookie right now.
And obviously the Packers want to run the ball. This
is a top five rushing offense last season. They're going
(09:59):
to run the ball. That is the identity of that.
And you're gonna trust this offense who's a run heavy
offense with ten different people in the pie. No, I'm good.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
My favorite yearly tradition is everyone getting all excited about
the Packers receivers and then Romeo Dolls is the wide
receiver one the Captain American routes as the Captain.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
America the wide receiver room. But we like Tony Stark better.
He's cooler. But Tony Stark is way cooler. But we
don't know who Tony Stark is, is it?
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Golden is a real iron Man? When they were feuding, by.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
The way, it's all it's all fun and games.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Ma Heith gets a whole bunch of targets. Yea too.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
What are we doing?
Speaker 1 (10:33):
That?
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Was Who Will Deliver presented by Uber Eats, where you
can get the best deals on game day food all
season long, the official on demand delivery partner of the NFL.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Order.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Now diving further into Week two, It's the Ben Johnson Bowl,
the first edition of the Ben Johnson Bowl. The Bears
travel to Detroit to take on the Lions. Ben Johnson
and the Bears coming off a tough loss on Monday
Night football forget real football, right because obviously they're things
that Caleb Williams you throws that he missed. What have
(11:02):
you from a fantasy perspective? Though he got you over
twenty points? What was your fantasy take? Lakwan on what
you saw from Caleb and the Bears.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Keep running, keep being Mannick in the pocket, keep running
away even though you have a old line that's protecting
you keep rolling out, like he barely was just this
close to get to like five hundred rushing yards last season.
I think we raised the bar. He's going up to
like six hundred and seven hundred at this rate of
the rushing yards because it's just like he was everywhere.
But the good thing about it is with him running
(11:29):
around and rolling out, he has great pocket presence. Like
there was one throw to Roma Dunes on the sideline
where he rolled out that was like a perfect Chris play,
Like I'm just looking at Oh, we're watching generational talent.
Actually ooze it, like this isn't hype of a Trevor
mid Lawrence here, Like Caleb Williams is going out there
and really really putting on the show. But I think
in the second half he got a little ahead of it.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
He became.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
No, we're not doing that with Caleb, bro.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
But I'm just saying, like the first half was like,
that's the pocket he needs to stick to. I was
very happy be from a fantasy manager watching that because
I'm like, oh, the upside is there, the top twelve
ceiling is Therefore.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
He had DJ Moore for a touchdown, like just they connect.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
He they play a little security blanket with Swift, but
that's good for Swift owners.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
That I just wanted to hit.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
There was just some misthrows. I mean Debo.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
I'm thinking about DJ Moore and Debo. They're kind of
the similar to the same when it comes to yards
after to catch. I think you can utilize Dj Moore
closer to be a security blanket for Caleb because he
could work after to catch and then Roman dunes that
you just hit long as your pro x.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Yeah, I think they want to. I mean, they don't
want to move these guys around. We'll see how it happened.
They just to make some of those easier throws, but
otherwise everything else was great. I also think if he
runs for seven hundred yards, the Bears.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Are in trouble. Oh my god. When we see the
Lions offense rebound, it was a bad week one for them.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
I rewatched this game yesterday and I I did not
like what I saw at all. I thought it was
under reported in the offseason about them losing two key
pieces of the interior part of their offensive line. But
and look, I will fully say there's a chance that
this Packers d line is the best in football or
one of the best. Like, there's a lot of talent there.
But Jared Goff was running for his life. He was
(13:06):
uncomfortable in the pocket. He was constantly on the move
and because of that, almost all of his throws were
quick and short. They couldn't get established to run up
the middle. This was not the Lions of old. They
averaged fewer yards per play in this game than in
any game with Ben Johnson in three shits. So I
know they're back home. I know Jared Goff has never
played well in Green Bay. I have him as a
(13:28):
sit this week because once you were drifting him as
a QB two anyway, But there's a lot of potential there.
I need to see the Lions look like the Lions
of old without Ben Johnson for me to get back
on board.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yeah, that was not great, So we'll see if they
bounce back. But having to deal with that Bears defense
not a good way to bounce back.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Maybe you're at home, maybe that makes a difference.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Bill's at the Jets, all right. If our text chain
was any indication here, you might want some ear muff.
Right now, let's turn and Red already.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
Is chan Coleman? Is he the real thing is he
ready to go? I don't know yet.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
I'm not sure because seven catches in.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
The fourth quarter that's a lot softer than what you
were leading on.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Because I still want to be able to sit next
to Florio, you know today, because I do think seven
catches in the fourth quarter that's rare. That's gonna happen
for Keon Coleman. It's rare that the Bills are going
to be throwing the ball this much. The only time
they really tap into this bag is when they're going
against the Ravens or there's a shootout on the line.
If you look at the next couple of games, there
is no shootouts on the schedule. It's gonna be Bill's football.
(14:26):
They're gonna be running the ball like they usually do.
So I'm not expecting this type of wide receiver one
production from Keon Coleman. Furthermore, until they get back into
one of these matchups where they're gonna have to throw
the ball heavy. They were twenty eighth in pass plays
last season, so it doesn't make sense why we're gonna
jump into Week two and think Keon Coleman is gonna
be wide receiver one production.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Well, I'm like, he's gonna give you this kind of
production every week. But I do think he's gonna be
better than he was last year.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
Every single end zone throw goes his way. I'm gonna
take the guy that's gonna get the end zone targets
from the best quarterback on the planet.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I mean, listen, hard high end hy receiver to at
max ou.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Label drafting him as a four or.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
I get it, but I just don't think they're starting
to be this week in a number of leagues. Oh
my god, but.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
You're starting him as a wide receiver two or three?
Like I think you absinitely fine, Like you're good at
he's he's going to beat a DP. I will say
he's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
He will.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
I know we're going long, But like I spoke to
two people won a former wide receiver and won a
scout and they both were just raving about ke Coleman
and how great he's gonna be for Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Good enough for me justin fields, Yes, and I'll.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
Get his time here. Yes, he's gonna run all over
this Bill's defense. He's gonna run all over every defense,
but specifically this one.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Yes, all right, he's a start for me, just done
and done. Who wanted Seahawks and the Steelers?
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Uh LaQuan?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Who is Seattle's number two target after JSN? And why
is his name Cooper Cup?
Speaker 4 (15:49):
It's jays N.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
I mean the guy had a fifty nine percent target
and what are we talking about? Man target share? I
mean Cup, he didn't do anything really impressive. I mean
two of his targets were than five yards.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
That feels bad, right, that feels like it's horrible.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
They're going to run the ball and that's all Seattle
wants to do.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
It feels bad, Like, I mean, it's a reason two
running like this might be a team that has one
fantasy options.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Great in the short term, right if you have Jackson
Smith and Jig. But it's great that he gets all
those targets. But like it's eventually every defensive corner is
gonna be like, all right, let's just stop that guy.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Right, that's gonna be harder. The exact thing.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
They're gonna be a run heavy offense and they're gonna
run a lot of twelve personnel. They're gonna be hyper
focused on JSN when they need that spark. And that's
exactly how Weak One played out. If this is gonna
be the identity of this offense moving forward, Cup is
near the drop zone, Like, I don't even think that
he's gonna be worth rostering if this is the identity
of this offense, I.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Do think they spread it around a little bit more.
But man, that was like.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
It was one of those like good news, bad news
things like hey man, Jason got all the targets.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Like, Jason got all the targets.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
It was a literally good thing from Seattle for week one.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Man, don't this this is a Zach Sharp and.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Feelings Kenneth Walker.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Oh wait, that's the other.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Thing to the other schools for you went on the
DK Metcalf revenge game.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Somewhat like, I think this Seahawks defense is going to
be one of the better ones in the league, and
I think they're not going to be one that we
look to play people in fantasy routinely. But Aaron Rodgers
is tapped into the media and the narratives and all
that more than maybe any other player, and he likes
to force feed his guys. I think DK catches a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
In this one gonna be very interesting because we thought
that'd be a heavy dose of DK and it was,
but we also saw.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
One of the luckiest catches you'll ever see to win
the game.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
We also saw John Us Smith and Ben Scaronic and
Kelvin Austin.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
A whole lot of the guys sprinkled in.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
So maybe there's more to go around there in Pittsburgh
than we anticipated.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
All right, time to talk about some bouncebacks.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Guys who maybe let you down in week one we
think will bounce back in week two. We talked about
Zach Sharboney. So you're talking about the guy you're talking
about the RB two now in Seattle.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
No, no, no, no, we're not doing RB two. Kenneth Walker
is due for a bounce back. I think there was
a ramp up here. He did miss a lot of
time in this summer, and he has the matchup with
the Steelers. They allowed six point nine yards for carry
to Breise Ltton and who is back on the outside
zone run. So I think that's the bread and butter
of Clinton qbxx scheme. So I do think we get
it bounced back from Keneth Walker this week.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
All right, who's your bounce back this week?
Speaker 4 (18:16):
Florio aj Brown? Because how could he not? He had
one catch that came after two minutes, and the thing is, like,
I know there's concerns if he's healthy or not. I
would be trying to buy aj Brown in fantasy right
now because I'm a big believer in like just gamble
on elite talent, and we know he is an elite talent.
So you're gonna still have to pay something to get him.
But if you could get him for cheap, I think.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
It's worth it absolutely for me. I'm gonna go Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
The Bengals had seven yards of offense in the second
half against the Browns. I don't think that's gonna happen again. Plus, look,
for whatever reason, the Browns just know how to stop
this Bengals offense. Miles Garrett looked like he had hacked
into their emails. They figure out the game plan the
way he was in that backfield the whole time. So
I think against the Jaguars, you're gonna see Joe Burrow
(19:00):
get back to looking like Joe Burrow.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Jamar Cha is getting healthy as well.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I expect a big offensive performance from the Cincinnati Bengals
in this one. All right, time for a quick break.
We're gonna come back with some more game previews, plus
a look at some sleepers for Week two next Giants
and Cowboys rivalry game. In the NFC East Leak Neighbors
(19:23):
was not a happy camper last weekend. You know, he
didn't have he didn't have Daniel Doones anymore, but apparently
not happy with Russell Rilson.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
I don't know anyway. Who's the best quarterback from Laite
Neighbors in.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
New York, Jackson Dart. Look, he was excited with Jackson
Dart and look, I think the range of outcomes, the
highest upside is with Dark because I think Russ is
what he is at this point, Like he still has
a good deep ball, but he's always fighting for his
life and stuff. Dark brings excitement and he's got that
downfold ability.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
At least Dark can roll out because the line is
still trash. I mean, like they the whole line is
still what it was last year, and so I think
putting Winston back there, Dart back there, it doesn't matter
at the end of the day if the old line
is still terrible.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Very true.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Saw a lot of ced lamb last week. Not so
much George Pickens. Yeah, mcgwan, do we see more from
George Pickens?
Speaker 3 (20:12):
This week, I think so. Now. I think when you
look at that defense that the Giants have right now,
a lot of pass rush, but they were terrible at
stopping the deep ball. This is the bread and butter
between Dak and that's what's on George pickens utility belt.
That is his biggest trimp. So I think they attack
the field downfield. I think that they get him a
little bit more used vertical downfield as well, because they
were trying to use him a lot short and close
(20:32):
to the line of scrimmage, which doesn't make sense to me.
So I think that we get to bounce back for Pickens.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Yeah, I'm very curious to see them get him more involved,
see if they can get that deep ball.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Going again too, because.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
I think one targeted like it was just like why
just keep abusing it.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Plus, if they don't get him involved, he's liable to
well Queya.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Mitchell was putting the clamps out.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
There, though very true.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
He's also liable to go Ham if he didn't get
a whole lot of targets in the very in your future,
we'll see.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Forty nine ers at the Saints. You sort of touched
on this a little bit earlier. Florio.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
But if Brock pretty can't go or any of the
San Francisco pass catchers startable.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Ricky Pearsall I think still is like I think he
takes a hit without Brock Purdy, but he would get
all of the volume there. He was one of three
wide receivers I believe it was him, Neighbors and Coleman
with numerous end zone targets and over one hundred air
yards in Week one, which is elite usage. And then
the Saints are a favorable matchup. So even look, mac
(21:25):
Jones elevated Brian Thomas Junior last year, maybe he could
do the same year for Ricky Pearsoll. But I think
Ricky's in play either way.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Gret Curiously, what Juwan Jennings availability is going to be.
Seems like it's not a serious injury for him, so
we'll keep an eye on that as well. On the
other side, Juwan Johnson had a big Week one.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Oh yeah, a thing. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
I've been preaching him all summer long, and I actually
had the privilege to text one of his former teammates
in Jameis Winston, and I asked him what stood about
Juwan and his game? What makes you have these special
moments that you guys shared in New Orleans. And he
text back and said, Juwan is such a great route runner.
He had an excellent catch rats with his ability to
create separation because he's essentially a big wide receiver. It
(22:07):
was a matchup nightmare against any defender. So that showed
and displayed in Week one. I expect this for season
long because he made Chris o'lave look like the second
cast of that New Orleans offense.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
That feels like an edited version of what Jamis would
really say. Not that he would say anything bad or like,
you know, FCC violating, but he would just add his
own flavor to He texted.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
The word big wide receiver in caps so that he
went at emphasize on that.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
It feels about right, Yes, Jamis for sure.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Broncos at the Colts interesting one here two teams that
are one to zero had kind of easier matchups in
Week one. It's a tougher matchup for both sides. Floya,
Which Broncos running back do you trust the most?
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Here?
Speaker 4 (22:45):
The one that played I like that you're doing it active?
The one that played the most though, it's JK Dobbins.
He had more than half the snaps. He had the
most routes on the team, and he had the most
carries by far, most routes amongst the running backs.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
I want r J.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
Harvey to be the guy, but Sean Payton needs to
want him to be the guy before we could trust
him in fantasy because if he didn't have that fifty
yard run, and you're not gonna be able to bank
on a like. I know that's a big play of
what makes him great, but you can't bank on that
each week. Without that, We're talking about less than five
fantasy points, and the opportunity wasn't great. So I have
Dobbins in a couple of spots and I'm flexing him
(23:21):
this week.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
Sorry who led the team in scrimming yards r J hard,
But you can't bank on seven opportunities, tell you now,
And there's no way Sean Payton's sitting on the sideline
or even watch film going back after this game.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
You know what I'm still going to Marvins is online
one right.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Marvin Mims has a twin of overlapping role in Troy Franklin,
But I don't want to spend too much on this.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
Franklin was on the team. He was like leading the
league in yards per route and Payton doesn't care about
our team.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
If Sean Payton treats R. J. Harvey like Marvin Mims,
get him out of here. Denver needs to be an
uproar because clearly the talent is there. He possesses the spot.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
I agree, I agree, but.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Until we see it, I don't think you could trust this.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Week.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
I don't understand why you holvesn't have all this faily
Sean Peyton to do what he says Harvey.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
On Monday you hated.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Him anyway, I'm on the side of that game, LaQuan.
Would you start Michael Pittman knowing he's probably going against
Patrick's ortan, who just locked down on Calvin Ridley last week?
Speaker 3 (24:23):
No, because I don't think Michael Pittman is on the
same tear as Calvin Ridley and Pat Tartan is there.
He allowed zero catches in thirty four covered snaps. There
is no way I'm rolling out Michael Pittman with Daniel Jones,
who's my guy. But I do think that this is
going to be a true test for the Daniel Jones hype.
But Michael Pittman is not in starting lineups for any
of my leagues last.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Year, lose T teams played and sixteen snaps between Pittman
and Certan one target zero.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Catches exactly how that went.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
That's on track.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Time to check out our top sleepers for Week two.
Lakwan hit us up.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
It's nice over here in New England.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Man.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
I'm going with Drake May.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
He's my sleeper this week.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
He's heading down the southeast to the Jersey Shore Miami
cass to join in on the chaos. Like we just
saw Daniel Jones burn them and they're still the un
Oh yeah, we got unit coming down, shaking up the
place of Miami. And I definitely think Drake May and
my starting lineups this week's helps me for the guys
that you know, like Jared Goff that disappointed Jordan Loved
in Week one. Drake May was always a QB two
(25:19):
drafted to slap.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
Behind those guys.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
So this week I have him as a start and
a sleeper this week to show up and show out.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
I do like it think he bounces back. I got
when I watched that last game.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
He just looked uncomfortable in the Josh McDaniels offense.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
Forty six times.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
He was they want.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
That reminds me of so much of early career Josh Allen,
Like he's got all the tools, he's just got to
rein it.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
In Josh Allen. But Timo he didn't.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Yeah, I mean there's only one.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
He didn't run as much as I wanted in to either.
He looked uncomfortable running the football. It was a very
wet It was a weird who's your sleeper this week?
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Carold Fan Jr. I have I will say this. I
have him as a sit in. Stardom's hit him. But
I I start off the section by being like, let
me make this very clear. I want him on as
many rosters as I possibly can. I just don't love
the matchup this week, and I kind of want to
see him do it more than just once. But a
team high nine targets last week set the rookie record
(26:15):
for tight end catches by a rookie in Week one.
Was the first play on almost a first read on
almost a quarter of the passing plays, and we talked
about it on Monday. I think he's like a wide
receiver any tight end body. If he does this again,
I think we just get to the point where you
start starting. They used a lot of twelve personnel. That's
what helped keep him on the field. To your point,
they used him kind of as a big slot receiver.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah, you might summon the blonde bandit because he might
be top five man if he's getting that permanent blonde,
permanent blonde this year. Chat, I gotcha. I'm sorry for me.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
I'm going with Tray Benson this week because the Cardinals
ran the ball very effectively. Benson another one of those
guys who had a big play but also got a
lot more opportunity. He said during the offseason that he
felt like the Cardinals had two running back ones, and
I was kind of like, I don't know, but I
don't think it's quite that level yet. But I do
think the gaps closing between him and James Connor. On
top of it, I'm just chasing bad defenses. Panthers are
(27:07):
a bad defense. They got run over by Travis Etn
last week against Jacksonville. I think James Connor has a
good week. I think Tray Benson is worth a flex
start in a lot of leagues this week, so I
think he picks it up as well. There you go,
those are your sleepers here for week two. In the meantime,
for us, that is it.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
We are done.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
We appreciate you hanging out with the NFL Fantasy Football show.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
You know the drill.
