El padre Jorge Enrique Mújica, director editorial de la agencia Zenit, expresó su sorpresa ante el fallecimiento del Papa Francisco, destacando el contraste con la actividad que tuvo el día anterior, cuando saludó desde el papamóvil y recibió al vicepresidente Bens.
Nancy Pazos, reconocida conductora de radio y televisión, expresó la profunda tristeza que se vive en Argentina tras la muerte del Papa Francisco, aunque también con serenidad, ya que su delicado estado de salud hacía prever este desenlace.
El doctor Jorge Traslosheros, investigador del Instituto de Investigaciones Históricas de la UNAM, destacó el legado transformador del Papa Francisco, a quien consideró “un genio de la pastoral”.
Roberto Blancarte, investigador del Colegio de México (COLMEX), señaló que con la muerte del Papa Francisco se inicia formalmente el proceso sucesorio en la Iglesia católica. Mientras se organizan los funerales, también comienza la preparación del cónclave que elegirá al nuevo pontífice.
