Este atraco no fue igual a los nuestros protagonistas habían acometido en otras ocasiones, este fue el mayor asalto a una entidad bancaria jamás perpetrado. Por primera vez, el cerebro de la banda se presta a contar su historia. Pactamos la entrevista y se realiza el mismo día. Justo 24h después, fue detenido por otro atraco.
23 de mayo de 1981 en el número 23 de la plaza Cataluña de Barcelona, "El Rubio" da inicio al asalto a las 09:18h más de 300 personas estaban retenidas y en la plaza permanecía en un silencio sepulcral. La policía no sabía qué hacer ni cómo actuar.
