Speaker 1 (00:00):
Josha. We're live ninety three three fl Z. Katie Summers. Hello, Yeah,
if you missed the the news, maybe it's your first
time listening this year, maybe it's your first time ever listening.
But Katie Summers new member of the Joe Show. We're
like super excited about it, at least I am. We
all are? Do you? Guys? Never say it, are you?
I'm just.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Why wouldn't I be?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I'm just messing around. I am gonna sound like a
broken record, just a case. Katie's been on ninety three
three FLZ for seventeen years. Now during your midday show,
which you're still doing talk for like five to six
seven thirty sacks seven seven. You now are going to

(00:49):
spend a lot of time talking to everyone for a
much longer period. People are going to get to know
the Katie Summers that we all know and love, and
I'm really excited about that. Katie did have a little
bit of break from FLZ though, so like worst day

(01:11):
by far. Oh yeah, you got fired.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I did.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
And when that happened, you and I got on the
phone and I said to you, you're coming back. I
hope you know that. I don't know if you believe
me or not, but we went to work on it.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
And Tada Sada made it happen.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
I am curious, and we're going to do a podcast
with Katie where we spend a lot of time on that.
We're gonna break down a lot, right, there's a new
podcast that we're releasing called Absolutely Unnecessary the Moment. It's
on the iHeart app. I'll let you guys know, But
you went back to the job eight hundred and four

(01:51):
oh nine ninety three, ninety three. I want to know
who's gone back the most. There's two different angles we
can take with this. Who's gone back to their job
the most? Some people would have been and some people
did rightly, So you have emotions, right. There are some
people that left the job and then they burned down
the building. You didn't do that.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I did not. I did not scorch the earth.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
No, there are some people that will never want to
come back to their old job, but there are some
people that do. So I want to know who's got
Katie beat on it. Who's gone back to their who's
gone like you quit and then went back, gwent went back,
quin went back eighty three. But also because I bet

(02:35):
you that We're gonna get some good stories with this one.
Who's gone back to their acts the most anyone in
here gone back to an X before. I've not anyone
ever spinned the block. Nope, not in recent memory, not
actual past. I think actually no, one time, one or
two times. Why Uh, because I thought, Joe that things

(03:00):
that had happened in the past were fixed. And then
once you get back with them and then you realize, Okay,
this person is still the same person. You realize that
it's not gonna work out to it his their fault,
not yours. I think it would be more mutual than anything.
I mean, you also as yourself have to change too
if you're gonna want to make things work out. It's
most of the time it's a mutual breakup. We're jumping around,

(03:22):
we're ping ponging back to the whole job thing. Was
any part of you uncomfortable coming back or were you
just excited?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It was kind of like butterflies.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
And it was crazy because I'd be on the phone
with my mom and I'm like, I'm nervous, but I
don't know why. And then as soon as I stepped in,
it was just everything went away.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
We uh, last last year, last month? Did we do
it in December? November? I don't remember, but we announced
that you were back in the building, so internally people
knew that you were coming back for like a month.
I think last month what brought more nerves was it
going in and seeing all the coach I mean we
were in a room and with like thirty people and
we announced to everyone. Was that more anxiety ridden or

(04:03):
coming in Monday morning?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Oh? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
I do remember being in that conference room and I
love our sales staff, but I remember being very sweaty
because I was nervous, but I was excited. It's the
same emotion. And Monday was that was kind of like
nervous for me too. But again, as soon as we
got into it, it was just, yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Well this is where you belong. Seventeen years. Doesn't happen
on accident and people make mistakes. And I love our company,
This company like has afforded me in a beautiful life.
But they messed up and they realized that and they
fixed the mess up. Because we all mess up. We're
allowed to mess up. How about this, though, Chee Aspen,

(04:46):
you went back to your job five times?

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Yeah, I worked at a party city and then multiple
times found better jobs for more money, and then those
other jobs went out of business.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
No kidding, Yeah, so I had to.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Go back to party city and then they went out
of business.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Jesus. And every time that you would go back, was
it the same manager they were just like happy you
were back. Or was it a different manager the same store?

Speaker 4 (05:16):
She she loved me?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Huh? And do you tell your now employer, hey, every
place I work goes out of business. No, because that's
what I said to my fiance when we first got together.
I said, every girl I date goes gay. So just
so you're away, you're next next. You know, her and

(05:38):
Ashley hang out a lot. So you know, Aspen, are
you employed now? You're happy with your job?

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Yes? I am recently employed September.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Good? All right, I love that, Aspen. Have a beautiful
rest of your day. I love you same to love
you too, Okay, if not, you mean it. I'm just
trying to get a tag. Whenever we talk to people,
maybe it starts off with something, maybe it ends with something. Melissa, Hi, Melissa, Melissa,

(06:14):
welcome Katie Summers to the show. We got Katie Summers.
I'm happy Katy's here, Are you Abby?

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Katy's your Joe?

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yes, say it every time Melissa you can relate to
She just hung up and she could. Could you call
Melissa back real quick? It might have dropped. Melissa can
relate to you in a pretty big way. Worked eighteen
years on and off wow, and then got fired and

(06:41):
quit and has gone back ten times to her job.
Oh wow. Yeah, I'd love to hear from her about that.
I'd love to hear from her. But uh, do you
love her? I feel it?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
She was definitely gonna say mean it? Call back? Please?

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Do you know what I think is fascinating about, like
getting back together with your ex? You know the people
who will get married, get divorce, and then remarry again.
And this Ashley and I are Bravo girlies, and this
happens a lot on Housewives, Needy Leaks, Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Stacey, Stacy.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
They always circle the block really.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Show.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Maybe because they have a lot of money, but yeah,
they'll get married, divorce and then remarried.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
And I would love to talk to someone who's done
that because I just need to.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
I have questions. Yeah, yeah, I don't know if I
don't want to go back once you're done, You're done?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah, they'd be kind of tough, it would me personally
for me. Have we got Melissa back then? Hi? Melissa?
Sorry about that?

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Hello?

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Hi, So Melissa, talk to me about your nursing home job.
I'm very curious about that.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I've been in healthcare for thirty years. So when I
started at this nursing home, I got fired twice management issues,
and then because I care about the patient, I would
quit and come back, and then until I finally moved
to Florida.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
How are you doing on your job now?

Speaker 5 (08:10):
I just started a new job.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Okay? Cool? And you like it?

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Is it good enough to where if things did happen
you would go back to the job or is it
kind of still new?

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Oh it's still Neil. I've only been here for about
four weeks.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yeah. What would your advice be on anyone who's gotten
let go? Because people are going through right now. It
always happens at the beginning of the year, unfortunately. What's
your advice to those people if they're feeling like, ah, Jesus,
I don't know what I'm going to do next, Maybe
I should go back. What do you think.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
If it's something you have a desire.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
For go back there you go.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Last question, you're in Port Richie. Where'd you move from?

Speaker 5 (08:55):
Illinois?

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Illinois?

Speaker 2 (08:56):
We're in Illinois, Central Illinois.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Cool Ashley who's on the show is from Gary, Indiana,
which that's basically Illinois. I think they identify more with
Illinois than they do Indiana. Melissa, how did you find
the show? I'm gonna ask you seven thousand questions. This
will be my last one. I promise.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
I listened to it every morning on my way to work.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
I love it. I love it well, Melissa. If I
can ever do anything for you, let me know and
thank you for calling in and sharing your story.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
And listen to us in word download that free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Yeah, love you, Melissa.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
All Right, all right, we'll get it.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
We'll get Hi Nikki, Hi pop Eyes? Four times?

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Hey, you ever throw a chicken at someone? Just kidding?

Speaker 5 (09:47):
Four times?

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Right?

Speaker 1 (09:50):
So you went back four times? Tell me about that?

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Well?

Speaker 1 (09:55):
I worked at one company, went back to that one twice,
and then I quit and went to the Brandon Mall,
which is where I'm at now, at.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
The Brandon Mall.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Okay, cha is there?

Speaker 1 (10:05):
That is a good location?

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Is I was like Papa, Yes, we are in the
food court.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Everybody we are in the food court.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
No draft, that's like Chick fil A at the at
International every time we walk by to.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Ye, I know is crazy.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Yeah, love your Nikki, Love got him.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
It's the best day of my life, Nicky. I'm coming
to see what papa.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Oh yeah, okay, love your Nikki, Katie. Yes. Any advice
from you about anyone who's been fired right now?

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Mmmm? Well, I will say it was probably one of
the worst days of my entire life. But just you
really make you notice the loved ones around you, the
support you have, and for that. For for me, that
was people like held me up. I couldn't have done
it without without my friends, without you guys, without my family,

(11:06):
my best friend, my fiance. So that was really it's
not advice, but it's my experience and just like kind
of let yourself be for a little bit, let yourself heal, Yeah,
because it is. It's it's very jarring and you don't
even know what to do, you know. So you know,
I tried to stick to my routine a little bit.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Do you feel healed now or there's still something now?
I seriously I am back answ you question? Sure? And
then we can I'll hit the dumb button if you
don't know, jeez, Okay, do you have any resentment towards
like the bosses that did let you go?

Speaker 2 (11:41):
No, no, because I know it was out of their
hands so you can.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Walk by him and yeah, yeah, I'm not talking about Tommy.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
No no, no, no, no, not at all.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
I know.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I mean, I didn't do anything wrong.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Wow, you trip that blank guy,
