Speaker 1 (00:00):
We have Terry distracting Jed right now in the producer studio.
So I don't know why I'm whispering. I don't have
to whisper. We're live in ninety three three f l Z. Ashley, Aaron,
Aaron Jacobson is in the studio, our best friend and
Jed who if you've never heard the show before, Jed's
my best buddy since high school. Aaron I consider a

(00:25):
brother as well, Ashley a sister. I met Ashley in college,
so we're all very close. We support each other. Jed
as an event, which it sounded sick. He's listening.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Terry really couldn't distract him.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
No, no, because.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
No, She's like, you need to you need to listen
to the talk back. Turn that down. What you what
are you trying to spill?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Now? What are you trying to Terry? I said, take
take him into the room. Fine, you know what, I'm
gonna leave the room and distract. I'm gonna about it.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You didn't hear anything. I just know you're talking crap
because Terry's the one who's talking. I literally just said
I was.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I not just saying how you're my best friend since
high school.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Aaron is a brother as well. We could sider each other.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Brothers, sister, Ashley, We're a family. You have an event,
we're going to support you.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Why did you think we were talking crab about you?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Because why are you trying to keep me in the
other studios? Because if you're trying to keep me in
the other studio.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
We were trying to plan a surprise for you, always
saying this is so frustrating that I tried to do
something nice for you, and you.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It never turns out nice. Though it was going to
be okay.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
This observer was so funny because Terry failed so bad.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
What were you saying to him?

Speaker 4 (01:54):
You guys started to turn turn the thing on, and
I just turned it down. I was like, you need
to listen to the talk back, and he heard jet
and then I was like no, when I keep no,
he heard his name Jed and then so I turned
it down and say, you need.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
To listen to the talkback. So then I pushed myself
against the door with his foot open, shoving me out
with the door. I tried so hard to keep the
door shut, y'all.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
And I also saw Aaron on camera laughing so clearly
laugh I know, but I know the way that Aaron laughs,
though you can tell that it's somethingthing that's like diabolical
was going on.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Really, he didn't say anything negative about you. I don't
even know where it was going to be cool, completely honest.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
But.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Hey, have you guys not tried how to distract people properly?
You know? She does a good job on the phones,
like she were like he distracted listener. She'll just go
on like what's your favorite color? And go down the
rabbit hole. I am a little shocked. I mean he
came in right away.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Did she did?

Speaker 2 (03:03):
She was like trying to turn it down real quick.
She did a bad job of time.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
I think that also the the excuse of the talkback thing.
Jens are gonna go out, just email him one already.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
It would be good because he doesn't always listen through them,
and then you get mad at him.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
So I was trying to be.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I think I.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Think it's barricade the door. He's like yeah, when he
stood up so aggressively.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Because she was like, no cony and then she's just
trying to block the like that she's playing defense on
a basketball. What would you have said to him?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Can you get the you get the audio like, who
cares what they're talking about right now? We need the audio.
That's more important. I'm just trying.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
I wouldn't even do that. I'd walk in and go, hey,
our podcast isn't posting. Something's going on with the podcast, right.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
That's great. You need to get this double posting.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, oh it's a triple posted in the there's uh
the F word.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
And that would have worked if we were like, sup,
and can you like fix this real quick?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I would have came in here to fix We would
have screwed. How would we keep him out? We should
have probably sent airin.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Actually, or what you could have done is you could
have said, hey, there's somebody in the lobby, Jed, can
you go get them?

Speaker 3 (04:19):
That would have not worked. There's nobody in the lot.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Yeah, you would have literally, there's somebody the same amount
of time that I got it.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I got it.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Lady in a wheelchair hold up, needs help out of
her car. Then you go downstairs and vehicle.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, woman's on fire.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah, in a wheelchair.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I like the wheelchair idea, at least that part of
it needs to be.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
You can take the fire rolling. That was a tough
task for Terry.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I'm not gonna lie, but you did fail out it.
Can we talk to you about your event next time? Yeah,
I don't know why you assume it's bad.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
This is a good thing. I'll just you know, no
surprise now, unfortunately.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
We can't tell you.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Well, i'll tell you next. Okay, I'll tell him next
because he doesn't get the surprise anymore. Well, yeah, we'll talk. Well,
this is all good, by the way, I don't know
why you assume it's bad, because it was.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
It was.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
It was so secretative. He barreled in here, dude, because
so quick? Well, why do you want me to when
I'm distracted? And then I hear my name and then
Terry's all of a sudden turned the volume down in
the other You had the camera recording on all four No,
not because I was getting the No, because I was
getting the audio ready for the talk back.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Did you get the audio ready?

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yes, it's ready to play right now.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Was the camera did happen to be on yours? Because
if it got you you looked at me in the window.
I did get really concerned that I was.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
I think we can go back on Twitch and unless
we're off Twitch, No, we're on all.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Right, I'll tell you about we'll talk about your event
to close out the show. We still had the tailor,
so we do need the talk back, okay, so get
the talk back ready and then when you come back,

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
