(00:00):
Andrew and Joe. Honestly, itjust makes me so happy seeing your faces.
It's as always a very chaotic call. It's always something I don't care
how chaotic it is. You can'tsay, yeah, we feel the same,
Brian, I'll never I'll never giveyou a boring interview. How about
(00:20):
that. I appreciate you to finish. I feel dumb as hell. I
didn't know that was our cue.I thought you were going to finish.
That's what she said, dance countingdown the biggest dance songs in the country.
(00:45):
This is America's Dance thirty. Letme do some caffeine so I can
wake up a little bit well,Andrew officially, congratulations on getting engaged.
Thank you. We are grown upsyourself very fast. But that apparently now
I'm a little confused. Did youget engaged in the middle of your set
(01:06):
or was it before or after?Because I saw pictures of bus, No,
that was the middle of the show. Was more so just for shits
and gigs. You know, I'ma private person, so we were always
like, hey, we'll do thisprivately, but it would be funny to
have the engagement party at the showand then do it all there. Again
just for the bit, you know, so she had to fake it in
the middle of the set. Exactlylove it and Joe, thank you for
(01:30):
taking the time in the doctor's office. Really appreciate it. Loud Luxury,
welcome back to America's Dance thirty.Thank you so much for having us.
Man, we missed you. Thankyou brother, there was your cue.
Congratulations on another number one with Youngand Foolish. By the way, the
(01:53):
remix mashup that you guys did withLmfao for the Vegas residency, that was
sick and you you got to startplaying that full time now. I wonder
where lmfao is bagging groceries now.I mean, those guys are legends.
I always used to see him goingaround in Runyon Canyon on hips. Yeah,
(02:14):
and it's not like he's like tryingto be like either of them,
like low key. They would alwaysbe like they look like Harlem Globetrotters,
like every time they go out.I don't remember which one it was,
but I remember seeing one of themduring Miami Music Week literally stumbling down Collins.
That sounds for them. I gotthat means he had a good time
(02:34):
in Miami. Then absolutely do thatonce or twice being in La and just
being an Angelino and like, youknow, whether it be hiking and doing
getting groceries, going to a party. It's shocking the amount of places you
see red food. Really, he'sjust always on a side quest. It's
nuts. And is the hair stillthe same or is it different way?
Yeah, he looks like a Harlemglobetrotter. It's like he's always decked out.
Well, I can't wait to talkabout young and Foolish and find out
(02:57):
how the song was born with Charlieon a front. But first let's find
out how young and foolish loud Luxuryis. Let's do it. So,
when was the last time you threwup in an uber or any car for
that matter. The last time Ispewed was in art Basel in somebody's cart.
No, I was at an afterparty, but I was fortunately staying
(03:20):
at the house that the after partywas at, and I just I drank
way too much. Obviously, likesix am, Blondish was playing. I
think Diplo is playing in like theliving room of a house, and I
was just ripping shots the hard time. We just called that clearing real estate,
to be honest, I love itfor more. What about you Andrew
last time in an uber? Imean Uber didn't exist at this time,
(03:44):
which which makes me feel old.But it was a taxi senior year of
college or actually grew up inside it. But we had to stop every five
minutes so I could go open thedoor keep going. Drives like literally zero
point twenty five miles is crazy. It's so funny. That is like the
Cardinal Sin. One of my bestfriends threw up in my car. I
actually had to pull over on theside of the road and I still hold
(04:08):
it over on her like twenty yearslater, because Cardinals Sin. Yeah,
it's not detailing, no, exactly. If you're in my car, we
can literally drive ten miles an hourand stop over and over again for you
to throw up. The second thatthat contact is made in your car,
it's game over. I feel horriblebecause I don't remember which birthday it was,
(04:30):
but I did it in one ofmy best friend's car and he was
awesome about it, and still Ifeel so bad about it. Now,
what was the last drunk text thatyou sent? Again? Our Buzzle?
I don't really drink, so likeour Buzzle was a big time for me,
but I don't. I don't know. It's probably something incoherent. I
(04:50):
was. I mean, I wasdrinking this weekend because we went from Miami
to Vegas and we had a showat Hakkasan and then our plane broke down
literally started leaking gas everywhere. Soit's actually I don't want to talk about
this weekend. I was really pissedoff. Yeah, it was. It
was rough. So technically speaking, letting everyone know that we weren't going to
make it was probably a drug text. Oh that is horrible and what a
(05:12):
frightening possible adventure for you guys. We've only missed like maybe three shows in
our career, so that was likeone maybe three. I think one was
a festival in poland another one wasmaybe some other time that I don't think
like something. It's it's always likesomething like a plane is not able to
go, and like we did everythingwe could. Like literally, we're like
(05:33):
during the set playing in Miami beinglike okay, like the plane is delayed,
We're not going to make it.And then we're like what do we
do? So we try to geta jet, and then we try to
get a jet and then the planelands in Dallas and then they're like,
yeah, so the plane's not startinganymore, and actually it's a hum start,
so which is like very very verydangerous. So thank god we didn't
(05:54):
take off again. But h yeah, we didn't make our show. Oh
that suchs so we really tried everythingevenly possible. Our tour manager, he
counted, he, I don't knowhow he did this. He must have
had too much free time. Hewrote down every show that we've played without
missing one. Our streak was fourhundred and four shows. That's an iron
Man streak right there. And nowit's got to start all over. I
(06:14):
know we're back at ground zero now. Finally, when was the last time
you passed out face down with bruises? Joe was at our basil, not
all like college. Maybe I don'tknow. I was a scar though.
(06:36):
Oh so that was a good timepassed out. I definitely remember very vividly.
Some of the first shows we playedas loud luxury. We would be
getting like one hundred and fifty dollars, like two hundred dollars a show,
right, so you don't really geta hotel or have any luxury to do
that. So we would stay ata friend's house. But so many people
would stay at this person's house whenwe come and play because it was a
(06:58):
big party. It was basically likewherever you can find a sleep on the
ground is good. I remember onetime very vividly after playing a show like
that, literally falling asleep on thefloor and using bathroom towels as blankets.
But not like the big long kind, just like you know, five ones,
I've worked into a quilt and Iwould definitely wake up with bruises anytime
(07:23):
after that because you're sleeping on thedamn floor. But we know the songs
authentic, Yes, we do,absolutely now really quick, not to interrupt
you, Andrew, but Joe,do you want me to let you go
so the doctor can check on youor do you want to stay in?
No, we're good, We're good, We're good, don't All right,
Well, let's talk about this smash. How was Young and Foolish born?
(07:44):
And was Edie c or Lando lastyear the first time you guys dropped it,
that's the first time we played it. But yeah, we we started
working with Charlie and he's honestly thebest, Like it was so good.
We had our first studios together andI ordered like sixty potato balls by accident,
so I was able to feed theentire studio. Yeah, and yeah,
(08:09):
I mean he's he's the homie,he's he's on the rise, and
he's somebody that we love working withbecause I mean that type of energy.
Like literally we're in the studio threedays before and we're like, yeah,
we're playing DC Orlando, you wantto pull up and I somehow convinced him
to just like send it to DC. When did you guys start working on
it right before that? Yeah?It was so pretty so quick. Yeah,
(08:31):
it was a quick process songs.Yeah, because basically what happens.
We'd worked on it and then Charliewas getting ready, I think, to
get his album done, which iscoming out you know, in the next
few months right now. So theywere like, hey, before we go
into album mode, we'd love toget this out, but we obviously can't
get in the out in the middleof doing an album. So we were
like, all right, fastest thesongs ever come together, you know,
(08:54):
two weeks in the studio out byDecember. But sometimes the best idea is
just come out fast now with youguys dropping it at EDC Orlando went testing
it out. Has there ever beena time when you have dropped a song
to test it out and the crowddidn't react to it, and you just
kind of shelved it. Not really, we don't. We don't test songs
out like way, wait wait, wait, don't not really? Andrew goes,
(09:18):
yeah, both right, we're bothright, we don't. They don't
really play songs out that are notout. Yeah, for that reason,
because it's always like it's always aweird reaction. Like even though you see,
like if we played it and Charliewasn't performing, people would have been
like cool, like this whatever, like they probably would have like vibed with
the drop or whatever. But likeit, it's always a weird feeling because
people don't know the words because it'syou know what I mean, Like people
(09:41):
don't they can't sing it. They'relike kind of standing there like do I
like this? I don't know.Well. Something that I love to find
out about the songs are how manydifferent v's there are with all the tweaking
and everything. Do you remember howmany v's? Yeah? I could probably
tell you right now. I wantto imagine this one. Like I said,
it came together a lot faster. So, but that doesn't mean that
(10:01):
there wasn't a lot of tweaking.Yeah, I think there's only like maybe
like six versions or something. Iknow, I know the Master we were
done in four versions, so ifyou count that, and then maybe Joe
said like six, so maybe liketen or eleven. Yeah, not that
bad. That's that's pretty good.Yeah. Yeah, congratulations on this smash
going number one. It is soawesome for you guys. And congratulations on
(10:26):
five eighty main nominations. That isamazing for you guys. Yeah, yeah,
five. I knew we had abunch, but I don't like our
odds on repeating. Actually, Ihave the award right here. I don't
like our chances of repeating on BestDance Pop Song. But good awards.
That's a good awards. This one'sfor dance slash electro pop song, right
(10:48):
and you know who're up against thisyere John summit where you are? So
I was like, all right,I don't think we're going back to back.
Well you know what, Andrew,I don't like your attitude. It
doesn't believe himself all right, No, No, it's not even about me
not believing with myself. It's literallyI went and voted for us and it
shows you where the We're definitely notWe're definitely not getting number one. Now
(11:09):
I'm in this interview, We're definitelynot getting one. I'm just saying I
voted, and I was like, sick, we're gonna win again. And
then I saw her the votes.I have to deal with, you said,
I have to deal with Joe.Let me know if you want me
to take over a love luxury Dude, you're more handsome. Anyways, I'm
gonna have I'm gonna have two ofthese in twenty twenty five. Okay,
well, congratulations on the nominations.I'm sure you guys are hopefully going to
(11:33):
win one of them. Andrew,Joe, congratulations on everything. Good luck
in the doctor's office. No hippodiscussion, Andrew, and He's always for
having us. Man, thank youfor your time on America's Dance thirty.
