(00:00):
Bbe. I know that you alwaysjust love to sit here and chat with
me for hours and hours and hours, but we can't this time. We've
got a lot to talk about ina short amount of time, so let's
just get right into it. BbREXA, Welcome back to America's Dance thirty.

(00:21):
Wait, we'll throw hiding from theCarolin. I didn't know we had
a live studio audience. This isgreat dance counting down the biggest dance songs

(00:45):
in the country. This is America'sDance thirty. Can I just say how
happy I am that we're celebrating anoriginal bb REXA song going number one?
Congratulations on chase it number one?Or I can't curse God? And now

(01:07):
what? And now what? Andnow what? Oh my God, I
love you so much. Now I'ma little confused. Is this your first
solo number one or your second?Because I thought Sacrifice went number one back
in like twenty twenty one. Iwas sold second. I don't know.
I do not know. Well eitherway, if it's so cool, I

(01:30):
don't you know what I mean? And even if it's your second, how
is it only your second solo numberone on the dance chart? That is
unacceptable. No, maybe you gottago out and talk to some people.
I'll make some calls. Don't worryabout that. Well, let's find out
how this song was born. Isaw that Chris Lake produced it and the
amazing Iluna helped write it. Howwas Chasing born? I've been a big

(01:55):
fan of Chris Lakes not only hasyou know his actual detail and his personal
work, but also his production work, Like he's such an amazing producer and
I really love his sounds. Soand I've been a big fan of a
Lunas for a long time, andI really loved begging. It's this all
they have done together. So wewent into the studio and he just played

(02:17):
some stuff and he played the Band bad a bad at at and it
kind of gave me like the oldschool kind of because I grew up in
New York with like freestyle music, and it kind of gave me like that
nostalgic feeling. So we just itcame and I'm kind of in a different
place in my life also where it'slike I'm not wanting to chase relationships or

(02:43):
chase anything in general. I thinkthroughout my career I've been always like,
look like just what's next, youknow, And I feel like I'm finding
what I'm trustory. I find isthat if you take care of your yourself
instead of always trying to chase something, then and I feel like the best
things come your way. So thenew mantras we attract not chase. I

(03:05):
love that, absolutely love that. Now how long ago did you guys start
working on it? Almost a yearago? Maybe? Wow? Now,
something I love to find out aboutsongs that we've talked about in the past
is how many different v's there arefrom when you start working on it,
all the tweaking, when you finallyput it out, do you remember on
a lot like so like there wasdefinitely like I don't even want to I

(03:30):
don't even probably thirty versions because Iknow these are just the versions that I
have. But I know that theproducers have their own, like you know,
Chris Lake has his own version. There's different mixes, there's different masters.
And then by the time I gotit mixed, I wanted it was
originally a double drop on the firstdrop, and I was like no,
I was like, cause in likea dance in a dance world, like

(03:52):
for me, what was tough waslike in a dance environment, because for
me, it's like, if I'mout, I'm dancing, I want that
double drop. But then also Ikind of felt the pressure of being like,
you know, people that are actuallylike my fans might listen to it
and not understand it on their phoneor like in a streaming type of way.
So that's why I had the extendedversion be different and like kind of

(04:13):
you know, be able to buildup so you can mix it into your
sets and listen to it live andhave the double drop. Isn't it crazy
how music has changed? Remember howdance songs were like seven and a half
minutes with like five drops in them. I know, right, I can't
find it, but let's say wedid it. We did it to be
safe about forty versions. Let's besay, at least now before we talk

(04:36):
about drama and my own my whichwe're gonna be talking about as well,
let's have a little fun with bbREXA and find out if bb REXA would
chase it or never chase it.I'm just gonna give you some rapid fire
random stuff. Just tell me ifyou're about it or not about it,
if you would chase it or notchase it. Easy let's go all right,

(04:58):
we're starting a hard one. Pineappleon pizza. Chase it or never
chase it. I've never tried it, Oh you should. It's actually really
good. Really, I mean Iwould never, but it's actually somewhat really
good. I don't know. I'ma very like basic like. I like
the basic pizza, very simple inNew York City pizza. So I don't
know. I'm gonna say I dolove pineapple, though, so I can't

(05:19):
answer this one. So I don'tknow yet. See this is why I
love you because I'm very simple too. I'm a cheese pizza kind of guy.
That's all I need. Simple, give me good ingredients, simple ingredients,
blah blah blah. But I don'tlike pineapple. Well I don't know
if that's just be on the pizza, I'm gonna say never. Well,
next time we chat, you'll haveto have tried it and we'll talk about
it then. Now I know you'vegot bear rexa. But cats, chase

(05:51):
it or never chase it. Ilove cats, they're so cute, but
never chase it. I'm highly allergic. Well, see this is why we
can never date because I'm a catdad. So I'm sorry, to break
that to you, Bibe who wasover here. I figured i'd slide that
in now calling somebody chase it ornever chase it? Uh, never chase

(06:15):
it? Yeah? Who calls anymore? I like to FaceTime in text.
I can't do it. I haveI can't focus when people call me,
I'm like, what is this now? People who don't recognize that Bibi Rexa
is a queen. Chase it ornever chase it. I don't know.
I don't pay them no mind.Never chase it. I love that.
Finally, drama, chase it ornever chase it? Brian, you know

(06:41):
the answer to this. Forever? It will be drama the day I die.
I love it. Let's talk aboutyour laugh is funny. You're like,
that's it. I will I willnever laugh again in our chats.
Baby, Let's talk about I'm thedrama. How was that song born?

(07:05):
I saw that Punctual had something todo with it. Oh. I love
Punctual so much. They're so talented. I've been working with them so much.
I mean, it's been such anincredible process with them. I just
feel like because we've been like workingon so many records together, and I
just feel like sound wise, they'realways pushing and really open to anything that

(07:27):
I'm looking for. But that alsolike for me, it's like, I
love dance music, but I feellike I've been kind of in the pop
world for such a long time andI want to say true to my pop
roots. But then I also justlove really good dance music. And you
know, there are other songs thatwe've also been working on that haven't come
out yet that are just great dancerecords that are not necessarily you know,

(07:47):
straight up pop records, but they'rejust they just do something to me,
you know, So working with themyet, yeah, it's been so much
fun. And I think for thedrama, it's like what I love about
it is that it's very unapologetic, and I feel like we need more of
that, especially in a time rightnow where everybody is so critical online and

(08:11):
can't back it up. So Ijust feel like John the dramas about,
like, you know, being unapologeticallyyourself and really not caring about what people
have to say, because if theydon't pay your bills, then Brian,
you pay them no mind. Thatis a fact. And Punctual are such
geniuses. They're behind so many incrediblesongs now finally, my, oh my,

(08:35):
how was this born? With threeicons you, Kylie and tov Low.
Well, my parents had sex andthen I was born, and then
those parents had sex and they wereshe was born, and the same thing
happened Kylie. Like it was crazy, So we're kind of all born,
you know, like that, Kylie. I've been wanting to work with Kylie

(08:58):
for a very long time, andI have gotten into the studio before,
but nothing came out of our writingsessions. And then I hit up Kylie
for something and then it wasn't reallylike a match, and then she had
sent me my ow my and Ireally loved it and I had caught my
parts and then we were like kindof looking for the third girl and Tove

(09:22):
came in and she she just killedher part. She it was amazing and
it's been fun, like we've it'sbeen really cool. Chill vibes, no
diva stuff. Yeah, I mean, I am the diva. I don't
have to deal with the diva. You guys all killed your parts on it.
You guys did such a great job. And thank you for having the

(09:45):
chat with me, because my parentsnever did, so I appreciate that chat.
Phoebe Rex, congratulations on everything goingon for you, but especially congratulations
on Chase It going number one.Thank you so much for your time with
us On America's Dance thirty. Brian, thank you so much. And I

(10:05):
love your laugh. You know,I'm just giving you a hard time.
I know, I love everything aboutyou. Can I get it? Okay?
