(00:00):
And if you win, we'll celebratewith you. You get the money,
we get to take credit for youknow, you winning on our show.
It's a competition. It's not evenjust a competition in this building. I
want to I want to win nationally. I want to be the show that
had the most winners nationally. Now, we try to entertain you. We
try to have a lot of funhanging out with you every day. And

(00:20):
you know what, this is justa small thing that you could do for
us. Just sign up and ifyou happen to win, which we have
no control over, that's a hundredone thousand dollars. It's one hundred ten
dollar bills, right. I don'tknow if that's how they deliver it,
but I mean it's one thousand andone dollar bills, that's true. It's

(00:42):
one one thousand dollar bill or twofive hundred dollar bills, which were things
once pop quiz? What was ona thousand dollar bill? Who? Who
was on the face. I'm goingto go ahead and say, perse all
Thurston, what Pennywise? Do good? The third? I don't know Andrew

(01:07):
Jackson on the thousand dollars bill?Yeah, it was a president Herbert Hoover.
No Lawrence Thomas. No. Therewere two different iterations of the thousand
dollars bill in the United States. The first one was printed in nineteen eighteen.
Spoiler alert, the guy on theface of it was actually already on

(01:32):
one of the other bills. Uh. Oh, and your aunt race.
I gave a lot of answers.Samuel L. Jackson, you know,
Samuel Davis. No, No,Alexander Hamilton, Samuel Davis. Who what
bill is he on? I don'tknow. You weren't listening to the clues,

(01:53):
Samuel Adams. That's what I wastrying to work. Isn't on any
of the money either. Do youlook at the money that you've ever spent
in your entire life? Do youknow who's on the one dollar bill?
No? You don't. Oh,well, maybe it's a big one,
I assume George Washington. Wow,you got it? Wait do you go?
Oh? That was luck? Igive people my card. You're an

(02:15):
idiot. The other one thousand dollarsbill came out in nineteen twenty eight.
Who was on the face of thatone? It is not somebody who was
on another bill nineteen twenty eight.Yep, like right before the crash.
Yeah, optimism was riding high.It was we were feeling great about things.
Yeah, we were weren't even payingattention to the global sphere, and

(02:38):
and then everything fell apart. Oh, who was on the pill one thousand
dollars bill in nineteen twenty eight?Uh, let's go ahead and go uh
gotta be a guy who was,you know, notable before nineteen twenty eight.
There's your hint. Uh all right, second hint. Donald Trump's trying

(02:58):
to become the second person in thisclass. Who was the first? Oh?
I think? So what was theguy who did who got re elected
but not consecutively? Yeah, andhis name was Harriet Tubman. I don't
know, I don't know. Hey, what was who was the guy who
got? Who got? Who gottrapped in the in the in the bathtub?

(03:19):
Although that story might be apocryphal.Who was that guy William Howard tapped?
Was that guy? That's not thisguy? Okay, this Grover Cleveland?
I would have never gotten there.Come on, man, I didn't
know that non consecutive terms? Youjust you're crazy. Well, no,
we don't give you one one thousanddollars bill or two five hundred dollars bills,
which, by the way, therewere two different five hundred dollars bills.

(03:40):
All right. The first one wasJohn Marshall and the second one was
William McKinley. Those aren't in circulationeither, but there you go. Oh
gosh, you can't do this stuffwith kids anymore. All right, So
that conversation leads me. You putbob moral of the story. Put the
word cash sh in a kfa Bdot com have a chance to win one

(04:02):
thousand dollars on hykwork contest. We'regonna you know, bullet points, quick
hitters of the news. Here, first story, Donald Trump hush money trial
continues to try to seat jurors. We are under the impression they have six
of the twelve locked and loaded, and they need twelve, and we have
learned they need six additional alternates incase something happens, you know, say

(04:24):
they have nick epilepsy, or theyhave an IBS situation where they have to
be dismissed. It could happen theother one of the other people are gonna
get, you know, drafted intothat spot. We're trying to figure out
what it's going to take for thesepeople to like be unbiased like they need

(04:45):
to be. But they have sixof them already in the can, we
talked through some of the questions thatthey are being asked, and can's a
little insensitive to then you said IBS, and then in I just wanted to
point that out. That's a littleinsensitive. Oh, sorry to derail you.
I just I want to make sureyou know you're not offending anyone if

(05:06):
you have IBS and you are offendedby me saying something about IBS, which
no, it's just the fact thatyou use the term in the can after
you talked about IBS. I feellike that's a little insensitive. That's adoble
bale syndrome is what you're talking about, right, Yes, yeah, and
trust me, it's not good tobe irritated all the time or to be
a belle all the time. Right. I've been told that although syndrome excellent

(05:32):
villain character and The Incredibles, Ah, yes, that is true. One
of my favorite movie lines of alltime. If everyone's super then no one
will be. Oh, you canapply that to almost anything anyway that's going
on. We'll keep you posted onhow that's going over the next couple of
days, because I'm sure that's goingto be a story that we're gonna pay

(05:54):
attention to. And the judge alsohas admonished former President Trump and his council
as well for not acting appropriately.Shocker there. Yeah, we're going to
hear Donald Trump have to take alot of that guff during this process.
And again, I just have noidea how they're going to be able to
treat him fairly considering all of theopinions people have on him, including that

(06:14):
jury that somehow has to know nothingabout this entire thing, which I cannot
believe that is actually something that islegitimate. All right. Next, the
other big thing that we are payingclose attention to in national politics was what
is happening in Israel, Israel andIran. We'll talk about what Anthony Blinken

(06:36):
had to say about this momentarily, and we'll also talk about what Mitt Romney
said about another big national story. The Alejandro my Orcus impeachment documents are being
delivered by the Senate or to theSenate by the House today. Are they
going to debate this and if theydo, will anything come of it?

(06:56):
Certainly not. But we'll talk aboutMitt Romney's opinion on this, because remember
he's a Republican. In quotes,we'll talk about that. Next stick around

in this this account called Hube Talks, Hoop says, this is the best

(07:17):
news for Indiana fans since the inventionof ozempic. Ouch Man. You know,
can we really laugh because if Omahahad an NBA team, what would

(07:40):
be the joke that ozempic? Yeah, what what are you talking about?
You remember what Charles Barkley said aboutSan Antonio fans. Yeah, they got
big old women down. That's notnice. No, but that's not us.
I agree. Do people think Omahais filled with overweight people? Is

(08:03):
Indianapolis filled with overweight people? Idon't know, Not that there's anything wrong
with that. This is the bestnews for Indiana fans since the invention of
ozimpic. Stop it. Senator MittRomney from Utah. So he's a Republican,

(08:24):
he says, still, but hesays he'd be willing to vote to
dismiss the articles of impeachment against theSecretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Majorcis, who's
uh that was the levered to datathe Senate. But he says he'd vote
to dismiss it or be willing toat least as long as time is given
to debate the articles. So whatdoes that mean, Well, this means

(08:46):
that all Mitt doesn't know if there'sreally anything to this, but he just
wants to make sure the Democrats aredoing their diligent due, diligent duty,
due diligent duty, or some combinationof those words, that they are going
to actually talk about what was votedon and passed with these articles of impeachment

(09:07):
in the House of Representatives. Dowhat is supposed to be done by at
least debating the articles. And hesays, even for a couple of hours,
at least have the conversation. Weknow they're not going to impeach this
guy. What Democrat in the Senateis going to be like, Yeah,
I'm gonna go ahead, break rankand vote to impeach this guy that's a

(09:28):
high ranking official in the cabinet fora administration that desperately needs good publicity heading
into November. Yeah, I'm gonnabe that guy. That's not gonna happen.
Folks, don't get your hopes up. Yes, the articles of impeachment
being delivered in and of itself isvery historic but remember how many impeachments have
actually happened to sitting US presidents?Ready to say, go wait, what

(09:52):
was the question? How many presidentshave been impeached? Go? Three?
Yeah? Yeah, Hey, howabout that? Wow? Nice, that's
right, Yeah, Andrew Johnson,Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump. How
many were actually kicked out of officeby a full impeachment? None? Zero,
that's right, two for two, look at me, go zero York

(10:13):
Nebraska Civics teachers. They did theirjob. Good. Yeah, except the
fact that you have no idea whoGrover Cleveland is anyway. All right,
So the point being, there havebeen these grand standing and it's it's more
common, folks. You talk aboutthe historical ouster of Kevin McCarthy as the
House Speaker, and then the threeweek odyssey it took with the infighting within

(10:37):
the Republican Party to find a personthat could take the gavel, Mike Johnson
eventually being the man. And nowalready we have Marjorie Taylor Green trying to
corral up some more people that willvote him out now because he wants to
pass some sort of foreign aid billto Ukraine. Oh that was all that

(10:58):
old Marjorie needed to see the pointis this exercise is quickly becoming a weapon
of politics and not something that actuallymakes a difference or matters. But I
think the important part is if youdebate this, maybe we as a public
will at least know that the Democratscare about the country of the United States.
They'll at least hear the argument.Maybe we'll hear a counter argument to

(11:20):
why he shouldn't be impeached. Certainly, I don't know who's going to take
that job for the next five monthsor whatever until the election. I mean,
is that an opportunity to try toelevate somebody real quick? I don't
know even But again, we're talkinghypotheticals that aren't even gonna happen. It's
not gonna happen. There's enough Democratsin the Senate that can block this from

(11:43):
happening. They're not gonna kick myOrcas out of office. But if they
do vote to dismiss the articles ofimpeachment, which could happen as early as
tomorrow, we will talk about that, and we'll talk about the fact that
they don't want to do politics theright way. They just want to stick
it right into the face of theRepublicans and say, look, No matter

(12:05):
what you guys do, you're wastingyour time because as soon as it gets
under the Democrats Senate floor, guesswhat, it's getting shot down. We're
not even gonna talk about it.We're not even gonna acknowledge that this happened.
Isn't that great? Isn't it greatto know that we have one of
the two major political parties that isn'teven interested at all in discussing the actual
articles of impeachment, which were fairlypassed in the House of Representatives by a

(12:28):
Republican majority. Yet the Democratic majorityisn't even gonna bother debating them. We
don't know yet. We're trying tofigure it out. And of course,
if we see Republicans also in support, like Mitt Romney of just dismissing these,
even though he said the caveat wouldbe I would be willing to dismiss

(12:48):
these if we at least debate them. That's a caveat that I guess.
We're just gonna have to play aroundwith and see what actually matters there.
But the thing about Congress is everyvote is public, and we will find
out who votes for what and ifany Republicans jumped on and said yes,
we don't even need to waste ourtime talking about this, because that'll tell

(13:11):
us an awful lot about where theythink the policies should be going and how
much they respect our form of government, which pretty specifically says the Chamber has
a duty to America to at leasttalk about what is being passed through it
from the House of Representatives. We'llknow who voted against it if they do,
and we could find out as earlyas tomorrow it's five twenty seven when

(13:33):
we come back. For those whojoined our show here later on in the
afternoon of the four or five o'clockhour, we always are trying to help
you out things that are going on, things that are doing And there's a
really cool thing happening this weekend atthe University of Nebraska, Omaha, not
too far away from where I'm sittingright now, and we're going to talk
to somebody about that next on newsRadio eleven ten KFAB
