(00:00):
Number one. Did you see whathappened with Scotti Scheffler this morning? I
heard about that. I saw alittle bit about That's what in the world
is going on. Yeah, Soif you missed the news, Scottie Scheffler
is the number one golfer in theworld, was trying to get to Valhalla
Golf Club in Louisville this morning wherehe was trying to get around and thought

(00:23):
he was being told to drive aroundin the median. This accident that a
man was hit by a shuttle busand died, really sad situation. And
apparently there was a police officer wearinglike a yellow raincoat that was unmarked or
something like that. And essentially allwe know here is that Scotty Scheffler was

(00:48):
eventually arrested. Guy was very angry. ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington was there watching
this entire thing and they arrested ScottyScheffler for all this. The police office
are very angry, very heated.Scheffler gets arrested, He gets taken to
the police department, gets put intothe orange jumpsuit, gets a gets a

(01:11):
mugshot taken and then they're like,oh crap, this is the number one
golfer in the world. He's supposedto play in this golf tournament, and
they let him out without bail, although he is still facing four charges,
which again there's a lot of peoplewho like, go, Wow, nice
privilege you have there, Scotty Scheffler, I was gonna say, I can
hear the calls of white privilege. It's not even just white privilege. It's

(01:34):
rich privilege. It's fame privilege.Right, Like the police officers didn't have
any idea who this guy was.And Scotty Scheffler is probably be the number
one golfer in the world. Ishow his picture to eighty percent of the
people I show that picture too, will have no idea who he is.
They won't even be able to figureout that he's a golfer. I think
I would be in that group beforetoday, right, So that's my thing.
These guys had no idea who thiswas. Then they asked Jeff Darlington,

(01:57):
who was there, because he waswatching this because he's a reporter and
he was just there at the entranceof the of the golf club. He
looks over and Scotty Scheffler looks athim and says, can you help,
and then they told Jeff Darlington toget out of the way, and then
after they sent Scottie away because hestops the vehicle after apparently a police officer
who was in that unmarked what raincodeor whatever, jumped on his car because

(02:22):
he didn't stop and he thought hewas being told to go through. He
stops after like ten ten to twentyyards, they said. He stops.
The guy angrily has him roll thewindow down. He reaches and opens the
door himself and then pulls Scotty Schefflerout, pushes him up against his own
car and handcuffs him. Again. We don't know all the details here other

(02:43):
than the fact that Scotty Scheffler gotback to Valhallo before the start of the
round. He said it was amisunderstanding. He feels bad for you know,
he thought he was doing what hecould to create like he did what
he was thought. He was toldhe was in a marked vehicle, he
showed a credential. He said hewas being waved in by somebody else.

(03:06):
And then it was this person, this police officer, that told him no,
no, no, and then jumpedon his car basically to tell him
to stop, and then fell gotdragged a couple of yards or something,
and then got angry, of course, and stood up and broke into his
car and arrested him. I don'tknow, a lot of people have a
lot of different opinions on this.By the way, Scotty Scheffler made his

(03:27):
tea time. He is golfing today. He's still out there, He's through
sixteen holes. You want to knowhow's shooting? Well. I wanted to
know if he was in an orangejumpsuit, but then I looked and he's
not. So I'm slightly disappointed thathe thought he jumped it, jumped back
on the golf course while still wearingthe orange jumpsuit. That's maximizing the moment.
You want to maximize your fame inthe moment. You know how well?

(03:49):
You know what he shot today throughsixteen so far five under. He's
now tied for second. How aboutthat. The guy's a machine. He
is a machine. You want totalk about a way to rattle guy.
And it is really like nothing. It's like nothing happened. He's shooting better
today than he did yesterday. Thisis ridiculous, Scotty Scheffler, You are
insane. Anyway, we're gonna hearmore certainly from this as Morgane's found out.

(04:12):
And by the way, guess whathe's got two more days of this
that he's got to do. Likeis the Louisville Police Department or the Louisville
mayor gonna say something about this? They have to, don't they? And
I mean, what a distraction isgoing to be out there on the course,
right. I don't know. There'sa lot of stuff going on,
but man, that's crazy. Well, I just what I think of without

(04:34):
having all the details. Did heknow that guy was on his car while
he was driving? So I needto know the speed because they said he
drove ten to fifty, ten totwenty yards with this guy, like after
this guy was like telling him tostop and like he got onto the car
or whatever. So we know heleast got a first down. I mean
ten yards, right, Like that'sa long way to go with somebody on

(04:57):
your car, is all I'm thinking. Yeah, But if you get on
a football field, you recognize thata car itself is maybe like five yards
long. That's fair, you know, Like they get really nice cars here.
I don't know what the car was, I'll be honest, but a
regular car is about five yards long, so he went like two car lengths.
It's certainly not that much. Imean, if he was going like

(05:20):
ten miles an hour, it wouldtake like two seconds to take to go
over ten yards. You know whatI'm saying. It really I don't like,
I don't think it's really that longwhen you consider everybody's just eyeball on
this, and we have no reasonto think that he was just like going
against he was just ignoring these people. He obviously didn't know this particular person,

(05:42):
what this person was telling him todo, and what a strange thing
like like jumping on the car toget him to stop and then like having
such an angry reaction afterwards. Thisis the And I'm not saying that this
police officer didn't do what they weresupposed to do, because I'm not a
police officer. I don't know whatthe protocols are. But man, I'm
telling you what, like this isthe kind of thing that makes police officers

(06:03):
look bad to the general public. They're like, why did you escalate that
to a certain point because everybody's goingto feel like and again, there are
tons of people that are saying ifScotty Scheffler wasn't rich, famous in white,
he wouldn't have that, he wouldhave had a way different interaction here.
But my feeling is this thing gotpushed out of control by a guy
who I don't think Scotty Scheffler atfive in the morning recognized as a police

(06:27):
officer, and then maybe was handledinappropriately by that person without knowing what the
heck was going on here. It'stough because I feel like you want to
know more about where the car was. Very likely this police officer could have
felt if he kept going, hewas going to impede some rescue workers or
vehicles from helping this scene, youknow, I mean someone passed away.

(06:48):
This was obviously a very serious situation. So that's what I wonder, you
know, not knowing enough about it, you know, why why was this
officer's response this way? And thenwhy did he keep going? And then
another thing just to just to kickback on the length of the car in
the football field conversation with the tenyards do we know the ten yards?

(07:11):
Is that from where the car stoppedstarted to where it stopped? I mean
we're talking like that. I thinkthat's I think that's the the I think
that's roughly the distance traveled by thepolice officer on the vehicle. So the
police officer got the first down.Yeah, the car, the car was
already in motion as far as Ican understand. The police officer, you
know, jumped on board like thekids did to spike in little giants,

(07:35):
and he just carried the car, carried him to the yards to gain there.
But again he made it to teatime. And he's shooting great today.
So I don't know, you tellme, I have no idea,
but either way, it is whatit is. Scotti Scheffler, rich guy,
famous golfer, really good golfer, number one in the world, and

(07:57):
uh survived whatever happened today, andseemingly it's made him shoot better. So
put that whole thing together. He'stied for second. It's crazy to me.
All right. It is two seventeenmore to come, including a preview
of this weekend's Preakness, which isgoing to be a lot of fun.
We're going to talk to NBC sportsreporter Britney Rton, who is one of

(08:18):
my favorite people. She'll be onin about twenty minutes or so. We'll
talk about that and we'll do laterin the show preview the Omaha Supernova's in
their championship game tomorrow. We'll giveaway Supernova's tickets. We'll also do a
variety of other things, including ourFriday four and maybe even a little open
phone line Friday. You stay there, We're going to have a lot of

(08:39):
fun today. So hang out withus here on news Radio eleven ten kfab.
I didn't I intentionally ignored the MichaelCohen testimony yesterday during the Donald Trump
hush money trial, and I figuredI wanted to give myself just a couple
of hours or so after the show, and then I just dive dive into
all of it, knowing they weren'tgoing to be in court today. Barn

(09:00):
Baron Trump is graduating. Remember whenDonald Trump became the president, we were
like, who's that little kid that'sfollowing Donald Trump around? That was Baron.
And here we are eight years laterand Lil Baron now is graduating in
high school. Can you believe that? Matt Isn't that wild? How time
flies by? Oh? The mathadds up, you know, I mean
it does. It's crazy. It'sbeen eight years already eight years for Donald

(09:22):
Trump, his first four years andpresident as the president, and then the
four years that Biden's been the presidentthat most of the time, you know,
we've been ready for him to announcethat he's going to run for president
again. That's almost half of thelife of Baron Trump. Yeah, that's
wild to think of it, isn'tthat crazy? Yeah? Also, Baron
Trump was born like when Donald Trumpwas like fifty seven now fifty nine,

(09:45):
fifty nine, fifty nine ish.I mean, the kid was born in
the midst of his dad being basicallylike the most famous businessman in the world
at that time. Eh, maybeBill Gates who was more famous? Bill
Gates or Donald Trump at his apex? I mean Gates. Everybody knows his
name, but you didn't see himon TV every week for different reasons.

(10:09):
One of them was maybe in thelimelight just because of the egregious amount of
wealth that he had. But thenthe other, which is Gates. Yeah,
and I think that Trump kind ofsought it out, like he certainly
he was image being he was abrand guy, right, he was like,
the Trump brand is a brand andhe owned it. So Baron is
born at the time basically Donald Trumpis like at WrestleMania, Donald Trump is

(10:33):
on television and they are racking upmillions and millions of viewers. You're fired
might be one of the most iconictelevision catchphrases of that decade. The two
thousands, Donald was in front ofa TV camera. Bill Gates was back
there signing the documents to buy morefarmland. Oh boy, here we go.

(10:56):
We had to go there today.I hope Bill's not listening. That's
okay. This is Warren Buffett territory. We don't need. We don't need
Bill. Oh yeah, we gotour own billionaire. Stay out, Bill,
Oh you buy any of ours likethe old NBA rights. It's like,
no territorial rights. Go to BornBuffett. You can't be anywhere near

(11:16):
here, pal, Yeah, getout of here. Oh geez, no,
okay. So anyway, Michael Cohenwas his old fixer, and guess
what this morning, I went throughall of the analysis on a bunch of
left leaning liberal websites because I dothat, don't I Yeah, you tell
tell them, tell them. Ilook at I look at many, many

(11:37):
different pieces of opinions about all thisstuff because I want the spectrum, that's
right. I don't want people onthe right to think that I'm just reading
stuff today read and I don't wantpeople on the left thinking I'm just reading
stuff today read I read it alland so it caught my attention. Is
of course, all the right leaningthings have been saying this trial is a

(11:58):
sham. But today when I readthat Donald Trump had an excellent day in
court yesterday, six hours of crossexamination to Michael Cohen from Todd Blanche and
Todd Blanche. Apparently we don't haveit on video because you know, stupid
court rules, but apparently he wasgiven old Michael Cohen the business. He
blanched him. He blanched him.He blanched him with his forehand and backhand

(12:24):
verbally. Of course, he wouldhave been in contempt of court if he
actually hit him. But you knowwhat I'm saying, Cohen didn't have a
chance. And if you were ajuror in there, based on a lot
of the analysis, this isn't mejust giving you the analysis because I'm going
to be honest with you, Idon't know these people. I know Michael
Cohen's a liar. I know thathe is a felon, he's a fraud,

(12:45):
and he spent the last six yearsof his life just trying to take
Trump down one way or another. But the inconsistencies that were being pointed out
by Blanche in the questioning the jurors. According to the left leaning liberal media,
they were like, yeah, II don't think Donald Trump is sweating
anything going into the weekend as faras a conviction is concerned. Now,

(13:05):
of course we have to allow theclosing arguments and everything like that that we
are eligi to believe that's the lastwitness that the prosecution is going to call.
This thing could get wrapped up withrelative ease into the next week or
so. Hopefully it does for thesake of America and for the campaign of
Donald Trump to get back going infull force. But I will tell you
this, ladies and gentlemen. Whenthe left leaning liberal media is going out

(13:26):
of their way to say, Wow, Donald Trump had a really good day
in court, I don't think there'sa whole lot here. Now that the
star witness for the prosecution sounds likehe's made half of this stuff up on
the fly, I don't know howthe jury would think anything different. It
takes those seeds of doubt throughout thetrial, but especially from the quote star
witness for this to take place. And all I'm telling you, folks,

(13:48):
from top to bottom, front toback. If we can get through this
trial with no conviction, which obviouslyI think we're headed in that direction,
then maybe we can get going. And remember, they have agreed to a
debate. Did you see that DonaldTrump and Joe Biden late June? And
then another one in September. Ibelieve there was a wager placed on whether

(14:11):
they would do that or not.You had to remember, I'd never forget
well if they actually get to thestage. And they haven't gotten to the
stage yet. This is an oldMcMahon thing or an old wrestling trope.
Get him to the ring. Ijust gotta get the match in the ring,
and then we can figure out howto get to the finish one way
or another. If a guy doesn'twant to cooperate, get to the ring.

(14:31):
Well, get them to the stage. And you know what the rules
are. Did you read the rules? The Biden rules. He agreed to
it on certain conditions. Did youknow what you did? You? Did
you see those? So he challengedhim, But then he had a bunch
of rules. Oh yeah. Numberone, he's got to work. He
wants access to work directly with thenetwork. Okay, so the network,

(14:52):
that's seeing Inn for the first one, ABC News for the second one,
and then there's a vice presidential onethat's going to pop up in the middle
of those. But he wants towork directly with the network, which you
know, that's code for me forcan you give me the questions at a
time. That's how I read that, now, don't I would assume that
the Trump campaign would get the samegoods. The second thing, they are
in places that there will not bean audience. I actually like that.

(15:16):
I think the audience just takes awayfrom debates most of the time, especially
when it's a Republican versus Democrat thesedays. Number three, you know what
Elsie said, Mike cuts off.The Mike just automatically shuts off when times
up or it's not your turn totalk, So they cannot talk over each
other and they cannot interrupt, whichagain generally speaking, I don't mind that
because as long as both guys geta certain amount of time, one guy

(15:39):
can't just like run over the otherguy by talking over him the entire time,
you know, the veg Ramaswami style. Now, my biggest thing is
all of these things that these areagreed to when we get them on the
stage. This is the most controlledscenario that you could possibly have for a
guy who we know can't really thinkon his feet very well these days,
and that's Joe Biden. He canbasically go with no cards. He's like,
Okay, we know what questions they'regoing to ask because we worked with

(16:00):
network ahead of time. We knowwhen the questions are going to come,
and I'm gonna have my note cardswith me, and then I don't have
to have Like I don't everything's goingto be so practiced and rehearsed. I'm
just not sure we're going to learna whole lot out of those debates.
But it's an improvement. I likethe idea that they would debate, even
if it is going to be inan incredibly controlled environment, which definitely gives
the edge to Joe Biden in thatscenario because Donald Trump won't necessarily be able

(16:23):
to be himself in that way.But again, I will celebrate the fact
that maybe we'll actually get to seethese two on the stage at the same
time. However, that is whatit is. A happy graduation. Baron
Trump, if you're listening, we'revery proud of you, young man.
Two twenty eight. Hey, theKentucky Derby was two weeks ago and provided

(16:45):
a very surprise winner. There's stillIowa connections for my Iowa listeners, Midwest
connections for all of my other listeners. That is going to be a part
of this race coming up tomorrow, the Prignus Stakes in Baltimore, Maryland.
We'll talk to NBC's sports reporter BritanyIrton about that next on news radio eleven
ten kfab. If you're an Iowaperson and you really hope and catching Freedom

(17:07):
gets it done this time, soam I. That'd be really fun to
see that happen, all bofamily stablesrepresenting Iowa everywhere they go. It's really
cool. But I did have somebodywant to talk a little bit more about
this debate situation. It's surely emailin and Matt is Matt Case, my
producer. He's a level headed guy. Well, thank you, Emery.
I don't know if that level isalways I don't know if the bubble is
always right where it needs to be, but I am level headed, if

(17:30):
you know what I mean. Ifyou're pretty level headed, yep, it's
nice and flat anyway. Shirley says, what will you bet the CNN will
give Biden the questions and answers beforehand. I think the deal that the campaign
is saying that they would need tomake with the networks and work with them
directly. I think they'll definitely getthe questions ahead of time, but I

(17:51):
think that probably is also going tobe afforded to former President Trump. I
don't think they'll give the answers, but you know, Joe is going to
have his note cards or his teleprompter, and especially if the mike is cut
off, so they can't jump inover the top of each other, which
certainly advantage Biden in that situation. And they are going out of their way
to make sure that there's no liveaudience that could cheer or jeer or get

(18:18):
loud at different points. That'll keepthem on task. Eighty one year old
Joe Biden could absolutely trip and fallhis way to the debate stage and sound
coherent because everything is as controlled aspossible. I don't think CNN is going
to be in on that, andI don't think ABC will be in on
it either. I just think theywill prepare the candidates with the questions ahead

(18:41):
of time, and it's going tobe incredibly tame for a debate. I
think they're going to control as muchas they can about it. That's the
only way the Biden administration will doit. And that's why I'm not paying
up on my bet until I seethem on the stage. If you're a
network, why would you do this. It's just like, no, we
want fireworks. Let us have youguys like throw a hand. I know

(19:03):
I'm getting very I'm getting more andmore disappointed every detail that comes out about
these debates. Yeah, well that'sjust part of the gig hey open phone
