(00:00):
Sustainable Gastronomy Day. So congratulations toall of those out there celebrating Sustainable Gastronomy
Day. Is that you gastronomy havingto do with the gastro intestinal system?
You got it? What's sustainable gastronomy? Well, the United Nations is celebrates
(00:21):
June eighteenth is Sustainable Gastronomy Day,and they say, we call gastronomy the
art of food the art. Arethey talking about growing your own food and
being environmentally friendly or are they talkingabout any drive through or gas station where
I get my food? It thinksit's important for sustainability, so the idea
(00:44):
that something is done in a waythat's not wasteful to natural resources. So
think about where your ingredients are from. So I guess your fast food joints
generally speaking, you know they havetheir locations that that's real food. It's
not. Well, I know wheremy ingredients are from. They're from Kentucky
fried chicken, They're from Kentucky.Yeah, of course, of course.
(01:06):
Anyway, speaking of ingredients, wehave learned about the White House's opinion of
all these viral videos from the lastweek or two of Joe Biden, which
it's not a new thing. Imean, this has been happening since he
was elected president. You know, the falling off the bike and falling up
(01:26):
the stairs and stuff. I supposecould happen to anybody in the wrong situation.
But a lot of the things thathave been happening over the last handful
of weeks have been in front ofeveryone in an election year. And the
bigger question as far as what's goingon right now is, oh, yeah,
he's in front of former presidents whoare I mean Bill Clinton. Bill
(01:49):
Clinton can't be all that much youngerthan Joe Biden, right, Bill Clinton,
let me let me just let mejust a double check, my he's
roughly four years younger. Okay,so he just a little younger than Trump
as well, and he's guiding himaround stages. You have all these other
world leaders around Italy. You havethe people who are in charge of Great
(02:15):
Britain in France, you have everymajor leader in the world looking at our
leader and saying, is Grandpa okay? Yet we are now told by Karine
John Pierre and the entire White Housestaff I'm assuming because you know she's the
one that relays that information to us. Well, all of those are faked
(02:39):
they are being released not in goodfaith. My first question is how are
these faked? These are still shots. They might not contain every second of
context. Maybe they are intentionally pulledaway from the you know, maybe five
(03:00):
minutes earlier when he was talking toone of these people and looked like a
normal human being. I don't thinkthat that makes them fake. Also pretty
interesting stuff, considering the fact thatwe have a bunch of people we could
ask they were there. There werea ton of people that saw Joe Biden
on that stage at that Democratic President'sthing. In fact, my wife said
(03:21):
on one of the podcasts that sheregularly listens to, he did a podcast
episode. It was Biden along withBill Clinton and Barack Obama, the last
three Democratic presidents. Obviously it wasincredibly slanted to the left. But he
didn't do it on his own likeDonald Trump has. He went with a
couple of friends that might be ableto help him out. Now, again,
(03:44):
we could probably ask all of thesepeople, but which ones of them
are going to be honest and openabout Hey? You know what, Yeah,
he definitely did look kind of old. What about these other world leaders?
Do you think that they're going tothrow their hat in the ring and
say, hey, yeah, hedefinitely looked like he was a little unstable,
a little too old for the job, right here, Okay, fair
enough, they won't do that.Nobody will. Nobody wants to put their
(04:06):
name on something like that. Thisis the kind of thing that only an
anonymous person would do. And I'vealready told you I'm not a big fan
of the anonymous person thing, Butthe fake thing, I guess we're just
gonna have to see for ourselves intothe future. My second question is what
in politics has ever been done ingood faith? When a Republican or a
(04:30):
Democrat are about to face off,do you think they're doing anything in good
faith with each other? I mean, you might as well throw this into
the conversation of war and love. You know, all is fair in war
and love and American politics. Quiteliterally, anything can and will be used
against you. Heck, when DonaldTrump was running for president the first time,
(04:54):
those people on the other side ofthe aisle found a way to dig
up a video clip from well overa decade previous, send it over to
the Access Hollywood people and said, hey, if you run this five seconds
of audio, this is going tomake Donald Trump sound like a real goon
and we need that, and they'relike, okay, we could use the
ratings, and then they did it. You think that was done in good
(05:15):
faith? Well, what about thetime that Hillary Clinton basically said over and
over again that Donald Trump's supporters weredeplorables, like less than regular human intelligence.
You think that was done in goodfaith? You think that was done
for the betterment of the American people. You could throw so many examples in
(05:39):
there, and I'm not saying thatRepublicans are off scott free. Every time
that Donald Trump said anything about anyof his political opponents, whether they were
on his side or on the oppositeside, you know what, it wasn't
done in good faith either. Youknow why, because that's how the game
is played. Now, that doesn'tmean these videos are faked. Again,
(05:59):
I guess in this area of deep, big technology, we can sit here
and talk about how it's possible thatsomebody puts the Joe Biden face on a
body that acts like a zombie aroundother world leaders. I suppose that's a
realistic possibility now considering the technology atour fingertips. But I think we all
have seen enough of these videos andenough of him speaking in front of the
(06:20):
live camera to understand, this guyis no longer the sharpest tool in the
shed. He's not the brightest bulbin the box. You know what,
They're not gonna admit that. Whatthey're going to try to do the best
that they can is to try tomask over it. Say, anybody who
thinks that this is okay to sharevulnerable videos of the current president in his
(06:42):
geriatric state, those people are badAmericans. They're bad people. And if
you support anybody who thinks that thisis the real truth, then they're bad
people and you're bad people for associatingwith them. That's the bottom line that
they have for you. Well, that's a real shame because at the last
check this country, you could tellthe truth and not be too afraid of
(07:03):
it. Are we gonna be onthe precipice of these social media outlets and
maybe even some of these places thatconsider themselves media outlets either correcting this video
or putting community notes on these videoto say, hey, there's a chance
that this isn't real, or oreven more alarmingly, could they be putting
(07:25):
this into a situation where anybody whoshares a video like this that post is
getting banned, shadow banned or blockedfrom X or from Facebook, or from
Instagram or from name your popular nontruth social social media company. Here is
(07:46):
that what we're about to see happenagain? Time is gonna tell we only
have what nine days before the firstdebate? How are they gonna deepfake that
one? Do you got thoughts? We can talk about it? Four two
five five eight eleven ten is thenumber? Four two five five eight to
eleven ten. We continue the conversationnext on news Radio eleven ten kfab Emory's
songer, These videos of Joe Bidenwandering around like a zombie or like a
(08:11):
man who was probably better suited tobe in a home nursing home than he
does the White House, they're notdone in good faith and there's a lot
of fakery going on. Well, they're taking your opinion, and our friend
Brian is on the phone line offour h two five five eight to eleven
ten. Hello, Brian, welcometo the show What's on your mind?
Look at that, ma Well,I think it's a good thing that making
(08:33):
a fuss about it as Fox Newsto actually show the uncropped video that Biden
turned around and walk the other wayto the thumbs up to the paratroopers who
were backing up their gear behind him, like the friendly and gracious person that
he is and considerate too. Soit's a good thing. And now that
(08:54):
they're all outrage being accused of ohvideos, you know, the conservative movements
being accused. Oh, it's justbeing deceptive and dishonest, trying to pretend
he was turning around walking the otherway for no reason. Okay, so
you say this, Brian. Okay, so you've given me like a partial
(09:16):
explanation for why he would behave thatway and need to be corralled by another
world leader in that situation. Canyou like help me out with like the
other fifty things in the last twomonths that we could point to as him
showing his age. Here, takea long time talk about the other fifty
things. But this one incident,I'm talking complete conservative movement lied say,
(09:39):
he turns around walk the other way, no reason had to be turned around?
Yeah, but again, but again, Brian, at the same time,
he is wandering around aimlessly with therest of the group wondering where he's
going. These are world leaders,Brian, These are not just random bi
Staniers, Like where's he going? No, they knew that they were supposed
to be standing right there because ofthe photo op they were supposed to be
taking, and he again then wanderedoff. A day later, he reached
(10:03):
out to try to shake the handof a person he had just shaken their
hand literally five seconds before, andstood there for a couple of seconds before
realizing he didn't need to shake theirhands anymore. You want to go back
a couple of months to that unionspeech that he did where he talked about
four more years pause. Right,So, Brian, I'm glad that you
called me to try to clear theair about one specific thing that you think
(10:24):
they got wrong. Yet you've givenme absolutely no context to say exactly how
the other things are either faked ordone in a way that are completely untrue.
Okay, fair enough, I supposeI guess Brian's gone rip. But
oh no, there he is.Okay, Hey, sorry about that.
We lost you for a second.Go ahead, Brian, I'll let you
(10:45):
talk. Oh nope, he hungup. Never mind. Look, this
is a thing. I'm sorry aboutthis. I don't know why his phone
cut out there. We certainly didn'tdo that intentionally, But the conversation that
I'm having as far as it's thisparticular topic isn't to be in bad faith.
It's I hate how the media thatwe have at our fingertips, the
(11:09):
media on both sides, it influencesexactly what the White House is trying to
do. And it's either the WhiteHouse or you know, Trump's camp.
It was happening to Trump, thesame thing would have happened. I'm not
trying to talk about anything Republican versusDemocrat. Right here, I'm saying the
administration is insulting our intelligence by tellingus, Hey, you do know that
(11:31):
you are being completely fooled. Right? None of this is actually true.
That is I tell you what. It's not one of those things that I
think is an obvious gift to America, right, is is American politics.
We have created such a circus outof this on an election to election basis,
(11:54):
and especially now that it's become America'sfavorite spectator sport for the better part
of the life decade, a lotof people feel like they're experts on the
matter, and we are still gettingtalked down to like we're five year old
children. Ben's on our phone lineof four h two, five, five,
eight eleven ten, Hello, Ben, Welcome to the show. What
are you thinking about today? Well, I have a concern regarding the debate
(12:16):
with Hillary Clinton and Trump. Previouslywere the Democratic National Convention gave Hillary Clinton
the questions ahead of time? Andwhy isn't the Republicans concerned that CNN isn't
going to do the same with Bidenand put Trump at a disadvantage? And
why don't we say something now hopefullyprevent it from happening. Yeah, I'm
(12:39):
sure, Ben, if we're thinkingabout it, the Republican National Committee is
thinking about it, and the DonaldTrump campaign is thinking about it, and
they're going to have a response forthis. Again, we're going to have
plenty of coverage on this thing that'sgoing to be happening next week and the
next four and a half months thatare going to follow, and certainly the
(13:00):
fireworks that are going to be comingfrom that, But there's nothing that we're
thinking about that is slipping through thecracks of the Trump campaign. So I'm
excited to see exactly how that isgoing to be addressed, at least by
that campaign. But time is goingto tell on it. You're right,
we need to talk about how theonly reason this is happening is the Biden
(13:22):
campaign is working in cahoots with aTV networks. I mean that has been
clear from the very very beginning, and that's just the unfortunate nature that we
have here. Monica's on our phoneline four two, five, five,
eight eleven ten. Monica, thanksfor being a part of the show.
What do you think about Well,I think Trump derangement syndrome knows no bounds,
and Democrats don't care that our presidentis basically weekend at Bernie's right now,
(13:46):
because they're okay with whoever the puppeteeris behind Biden. Yeah, and
they've made it clear that it prettymuch is. Because there's no way this
guy is actively making decisions in regardsto our country. There's not a lot
of strengthen that lealship. Yeah.Yeah, I wonder Monica, how they're
going to be able to make thiswork in these debates too, as we
(14:07):
talk about, you know, notjust debates as a whole, in how
many variables generally are there. Theyare taking so many of the variables out.
They're taking away the ability to interrupteach other for essentially the entire debate.
And you throw out the fact thatthese are going to be incredibly left
leaning mediators that are going to bea part of this conversation on the first
(14:31):
debate, and probably with ABC News. It's kind of tough to tell.
We'll find out exactly how things areshaping up going into that one, but
they know that's going to be thebest chance that they have of drawing ratings.
And they know that Donald Trump canstand on his own two feet when
he's up there, and they wantto see a riled up, angry SoundBite
machine Donald Trump taking care of thingsas well. So something to keep in
(14:54):
mind as we head into next week'sdebate. Really appreciate to call their Monica.
Two twenty six is the time, and we'll continue to take a calls
if you want to talk about this, you want to talk about anything else
going on in the world of KareemJohn Pierre, the White House, and
then telling us that the videos thatwe are seeing about Joe Biden are faked
(15:15):
and done in bad faith, Well, we love to chat with you.
Four oh two five five eight eleventen is the number. Four oh two
five to five eight eleven ten. Will continue our conversation next. We're talking
right now about politics because we weretold by the fantastical and incredibly well spoken
Kareem John Pierre that we the Americanpeople, are being faked out and videos
(15:37):
being shared of the current president's geriatriccondition are not done in good faith.
Wow. Shocking there that you wouldbe going out of your way to protect
this guy, Karine. We appreciateit, but we're getting your thoughts on
it and what it means for ourcountry that you know, we're basically just
being told that we are being mamboozled. Four oh two five five eight eleven
ten is the number. Four ohtwo five five eight eleven ten. Phil
(16:00):
is on our line. Hello,Phil, Welcome to the show. What's
up? Okay, So you've gotpictures of this clown Biden being escorted off
the stage. Ye. Basically, what we're being told is he's not running
the country. Somebody else is andthere's not a darn thing you can do
(16:22):
about it. Yeah, I meanwhat this leads to, God, what
this leads to is it leads toapathy and basically people can being demoralized.
Okay, So you have then youhave people that tune out politics and don't
(16:44):
show up for election day, andin the meantime, what the Democrats have
done. They have totally changed theirfocus from voter turnout to ballot chasing people
people showing up for vote at thevote. They don't they don't want they
don't want voter turnout. They wantas many ballots out there as possible so
(17:08):
they can chase the ballots. Yousee, it's not really voter fraud,
it's ballot fraud. That's why youdon't want anybody have an id chet so
they can get ballot That's why theynever get rid of the dead people off
the voter rolls. Their game ischasing the ballot because the voter turnout doesn't
(17:36):
matter, but those ballots do.Yeah, definitely something to watch, Chay,
Phil appreciate your call as always appreciateyou beating on the show. Yep.
All right, okay is what he'ssaying. They're not straight up saying
everybody's right. The context is thatyou can't really trust that this guy's making
(17:57):
any decisions, even though you know, we've definitely talked about that on this
show, that there's no way thatyou can trust that just one guy's making
these calls. And that's not reallyhow the president does things anyway. But
usually the president historically has been astrong leader. That's either what got them
elected or what keeps them in office, and people at least respecting the office.
(18:23):
Trump was the first guy got inthere that people the early didn't respect
the office. But they did thatbecause they were told too. They did
that because they were told by HillaryClinton, and they were told by every
Democrat out there or any super duperlefty liberal type person that well, Donald
Trump, he isn't an actual presidentialtype person. He doesn't talk to you
(18:44):
like a good president should. Theydidn't recognize that. We could see through
that and understand that, Hey,you know what, maybe the policies are
what should make the biggest difference here. Maybe the policies or what we actually
do care about in the end,not necessarily this smoke screen that presidents have
been putting on the American public sincethe dawn of radio and television, which
(19:04):
was you know, it's within thelast one hundred years. Obviously, before
that, a president had a semblanceof leadership to only the people who could
see him. And you know, there were so many people that didn't even
understand exactly the power that a presidentand his cabinet would have had. Nowadays,
we're so overexposed to these leaders thatnow we feel like, man,
(19:27):
we know exactly what these people aresupposed to look like, what they're supposed
to do. And if you're goingto tell me that Donald Trump was not
a presidential president, if you willpresidential and his behavior and how can you
tell me that the guy that we'rewatching right now is presidential when I wouldn't
even trust him to babysit my dogfor a few hours. Brett's on our
phone line of four h two fivefive, eight eleven ten. Hello Brett,
(19:48):
what do you think about this?Hey? E Marie, how's it
going today? It's good man,Hey, just to counter Brian's point here
in Omaha, and he calls himpretty frequently, and that's great, but
I he got two buckets. Sothe first bucket is anybody who thinks these
clips of our president has made upand edited and you can't see that he's
clearly stage five or four. I'mnot a doctor, but it's pretty obvious.
(20:11):
And then the second bucket is tomake an argument that Joe Biden is
a kind and gracious person throughout hiswhole political career is I don't know what
it is. He's been a streethacked politician his whole life. When he
first came into the Senate, hecozied up to the segregationists in Mississippi,
(20:33):
namely Stennis an Eastman homage from Georgia, and he praised Robert Byrd, who
was a KKK leagueman from West Virginia. So these are the guys that he
came up against. He co sponsoredthe ninety four crime Bill. He has
destroyed Clarence Thomas, He's destroyed RobertBork. He has been kicked out of
(20:57):
the eighty Eightsidential Primary for plagiarism,he was reprimanded in his law school for
plagiarism, and everything else is obviousabout how he has been a grifter and
everything his entire life. So forsomebody to say that Joe Biden is kind
and gracious is one hundred and eightyfrom the truth. So yeah, no,
(21:19):
and Brett, I appreciate it.Thanks, thanks for sharing that today
with us. We appreciate the call. Yeah. So another thing that is
worth noting because everything he said iscorrect. Joe Biden, as a politician
himself, was it nationally relevant enoughto become the president despite multiple efforts to
be the nominee for the Democrats. He did that over and over again and
(21:41):
was always one of the first peopleeliminated. That included two thousand and eight
where he was running alongside and againstpeople like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and
John Edwards, and he was suchso far out of the interest level of
any of the regular random political peoplelike people who are interested in politics,
(22:03):
which still wasn't really all that muchat the time, right. Barack Obama
definitely brought some new people, newfaces, a younger crowd into the audience,
but it wasn't the kind of likeexplosion of interest that Donald Trump would
bring just eight years later. Obamawinning and then grabbing Joe Biden out of
irrelevancy and deciding to make him hisvice president made Joe Biden a relevant person.
(22:27):
That's the only reason why he becamerelevant in the first place. And
then it was kind of at theend of the Obama presidency the people started
to take note of the little bromanceor whatever that the Democrats called it of
Biden and Obama and how you know, buddy buddy they became, and how
cool those two guys were, andthere were gifts and photos and videos of
(22:51):
Biden acting like, you know, kind of a charming individual and all that
stuff, and he didn't. Heabsolutely, if you really wanted a third
term of the Obama administration, insteadof going to Hillary Clinton, you absolutely
could have gone to Joe Biden. But Biden didn't want to go. He
didn't want to run. That wasthe moment where he could have won on
the merits of what he had become, and it wouldn't had anything to do
(23:14):
with him, Like Brett said,it has absolutely nothing to do with him,
and had everything to do with hisassociation with Barack Obama. The hardcore
daunched Democrats and even some Independents whoprobably were like, you know what,
it's not a big deal to gofrom I'd rather go to Joe Biden than
than Donald Trump. In twenty sixteen, they had an incredible chance to potentially
win, but Biden didn't want torun. So a changed between twenty sixteen's
(23:38):
election cycle and the twenty twenty electioncycle, except for the fact that there
were people in the Democratic Party thatsaid, you know what, we have
no good candidates. Bernie Sanders isgoing to get destroyed if he is our
nominee. We have to figure outa way to knock him out, no
matter what that is. We haveto figure it out. Who has a
big enough name to do this. They've already ran through Hillary Clinton in twenty
(23:59):
six sixteen. Who can it be? Joe? Please, please, please.
I know that you're old, andI know that you didn't want to
do this before, but please,it's for your country, Joe. And
then, of course, Joe Bidenbecomes the Democrat nominee and eventually becomes the
President of the United States at anadvanced age, and he certainly is feeling
every last bit of it. Thisguy is as far as a long Senate
(24:22):
career, there is nothing of noteto report, and that is a pretty
damning thing, I think for somebodywho we all act in we all the
mainstream media acts as this incredibly accomplishedindividual. That's not the case. And
how have we, the American public, been so unlucky for I mean,
(24:45):
I'll say this about the Republicans too, to fail to produce new, exciting
candidates with new ideas in a waythat can help not just create a divide
in the nation, but to actuallymake people think, make people in the
middle of the aisle think about whatmaybe could America be pretty insane stuff that
(25:07):
here we are, and we justhave to run this thing back as many
times as possible. I mean, who's to say, maybe they do the
Futurama thing and Joe Biden becomes justa frozen head in one of those little
capsules, and he's still able tobe a representative at one hundred and seventy
years old for the Democratic Party becausethey still haven't figured out who the next
people are that can excite their voterbase. It's pretty crazy stuff. Yet
(25:33):
again, we're supposed to sit hereand have the White House tell us that
what we're seeing isn't actually happening. We aren't that stupid. Two forty seven
is a time if you want tocall in, you want to talk about
this, you want to talk aboutBiden, you want to talk about those
videos, what we've seen. Hisage would love to hear from you.
Four oh two five five eight eleventen four Roho two five five eight to
eleven ten. And we got somenews on the College World Series night game
(25:56):
tonight coming up next News Radio eleventen KFAB. But there won't be a
second game tonight because they have officiallypostponed it because of the inclement weather.
On the way to Omaha. Gameten, which is an elimination game between
Kentucky and Florida, will now beplayed tomorrow am. That is ten o'clock
am. To be completely specific,Tomorrow Game two is going to be pushed
(26:18):
back to two PM, so it'sa ten, two, and then six.
So they're gonna have four hours inbetween the starts of each of these
games, and I guess we're justgoing to hope that we can get through
them on time, which has beenkind of a grab bag for some of
these games that we've seen already.Whether or not they're going to get through
four hours isn't really the case. You've got to get through three hours,
(26:41):
have the ability to clear the stadium, then allow people to come into the
stadium ahead of the next game, and then start the game relatively on time.
At the same time I say this, they started a game at ten
pm the other night with the inclementweather that happened on Saturday, So they're
already taking plenty of advanced notice herefor all all the people that we're looking
for Kentucky and Florida tonight, thatgame not going to be happening. They
(27:03):
will be playing that tomorrow morning.Ticket's going to be good for that,
and they will be opening the parkinglots around the stadium and the stadium box
office at eight o'clock tomorrow, withthe gates opening at nine o'clock with the
game starting then at ten am.So there you go. That's not the
first time that's happened. And thatleads me to ask my friend who's sitting
across the table from me, ScottVorhees, we uh paying attention to this
(27:27):
thing as it's coming closer and closerto the Omaha area, and what's it
look like right now? Obviously enoughfor the college. Will serious people say
we're not even gonna mess with ittonight? Yeah? I think it's a
good call in terms of the gametonight. As far as tomorrow, it
might be one of those days whereyou just get some heavy downpours then it's
okay, maybe a little light rainhere and there. I don't know how
(27:48):
it works for getting three baseball gamesin tomorrow, But as far as the
rest of the day today, intwo hours from now, West Omaha should
be wet or pretty close to it, and it's gonna move through the Omaha
metro and it's not one of thesethin band of storms that's just gonna race
through and be gone in an hour. There's plenty on the back end of
(28:10):
it. It could be a thunderstormynight here. Now, thankfully, we're
not looking at a huge possibility ofreally strong to severe storms. Just a
lot of rain, maybe the potentialfor some strong winds stuff we've been dealing
with here. Just some thunderstorms herethis afternoon and this evening and a lot
(28:30):
of lightning obviously is gonna be badnews for the baseball game because they can't
play if lightning is anywhere in thedirect vicinity of the ball field. Along
with of course taking on a tonof water. That's gonna be the thing
that we're gonna pay attention to.And we'll have every last stitch of weather
coverage for you throughout the rest ofyou like that stitch stitches a baseball stitch.
(28:51):
That's good and you know you througha curve having yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah, SorryI had to explain it. I didn't
feel confident anybody got the pun.But anyway, the uh weather that's coming
through, we'll keep you updated throughoutthe entire afternoon, so you're not gonna
want to go anywhere as the Tuesdayshow rolls on. As we go into
the next hour as well, thereare some things that I want to talk
(29:14):
about specifically about I want to stepoutside the you know, general conservative or
liberal mind and get into an independentvoter's mind about next Thursday's debate, because
you know, the more I thinkabout it, the more those types of
people are going to be tuning in, and those are the people that are
probably going to learn stuff, becausethose are the people that are going to
(29:37):
not have been following the hardcore dailynews grind that we are on. Not
just because I do a radio showand we talk about it all the time,
but because it certainly is interesting forus, and we think that there's
something that we need to keep inmind for So we'll talk about that into
the next hour. There's also acouple of things in far as far as
foreign policy. That's a little bit. We're going to talk about North Korea
(30:03):
and Russia, because Vladimir Putin ismade in appearance for the first time in
twenty four years, hanging out withKim Jong un, and what does that
mean. We'll try to break thatdown for you. And also there are
now some emails that are revealing thatsome of the Chinese leadership wanted to talk
about what they called opportunities with theson of the President, Hunter Widen.
(30:27):
We'll give you the timeline of thosethings and the access that maybe China was
looking for. We'll do that intothe next hour as well, and there's
gonna be plenty of fun stuff we'regonna sprinkle in. So I don't want
you to get too bogged down, but we're gonna give you the information you
need coming up right here on newsradio eleven to ten KFAB. You got
one game going on right now,and that is now six to four.
They did do a challenge in areview. One of the runs came off
(30:49):
the board for Florida State. Theywere up six to one, but at
the bottom of the fifth North Carolinahas already struck with three more, so
that is getting exciting. Six tofour losers out. That's the end end
of their College World Series. Butthe Kentucky game against Florida today, which
was scheduled for six o'clock tonight, has been moved to tomorrow because of the
weather. So we'll let you knowabout that. That is a ten o'clock
(31:11):
start time. If you have ticketsfor that game. You can still go
to it tomorrow. Gates are goingto open at nine am for that one,
and the second game, which wasscheduled to take place, is going
to be at two ins in aboutone o'clock. The night game tomorrow is
still scheduled at six. But Scottyou're talking to it's about the fact that
we may not be dry tomorrow either, just a chance of rain throughout the
(31:33):
day tomorrow and maybe some thunderstorm activity. And as you mentioned in the last
hour, you get one lightning strikewithin a good amount of miles from the
ballpark and you've got to shut herdown for thirty to forty five minutes.
After every single lighting strike, youget one rogue strike, the clock resets,
(31:53):
yep. And when you're trying toget three games in, there's no
room for air the area. Itmight be hard to do. Now as
we get into the evening hours tomorrow, maybe that diminishes. They have lights
at that ballpark, they can playinto the night. Well, they didn't
start the Saturday night game until tenpm over the weekend restart. Yeah,
(32:14):
well they didn't even start the game. They pushed it back to ten o'clock.
It was a six o'clock start time. They knew that the rain was
coming, they didn't want to startthe game A Texas, A and M
in who They're Florida, Florida. That was the infamous TEXTA, A and
M Florida game. Oh yeah, the fans there, yeah, gosh,
crazy people. But anyway, thatgame, all those fans are just like
packed into the bars in the nearbyvicinity. And they didn't start until ten
(32:37):
pm. Game didn't finish almost two. So you would think maybe if that
happens and they're able to play mostof these games get through them without a
lot of delays, then with whateveryou know in between time that they can,
they could try to catch back upbefore Thursday, which does not have
any scheduled games. But we're goingto find that out. Yeah, I
love the rain chances diminishing tomorrow afterwe get to about noon one o'clock.
(33:01):
So right now, if this forecastknows what it's talking about, and often
does, getting that ten o'clock gamestarted at ten might be real iffy.
But maybe they gets started at noon. And if that's the case, you
know, you gotta do what yougotta do. You know, you can't
play on a water logged field. There's just that's just not an option,
(33:22):
you know what I mean. Thatfield drains really well, though. They'll
get the tarp down and they'll they'llgo out there with a team of volunteers,
each with their own syringes and they'llthey'll get that water off the outfield
pretty quick. Yeah, that's gonnabe It's gonna be something to keep an
eye on though. With the threegames. Tomorrow could be a really fun
day down there. If you arein town and you don't have to work
(33:44):
or anything, and you're just downthere in the downtown area, that's gonna
be a fun but long day,I'm sure for the people that are working
down there. Three ten. We'llkeep you posted on the weather as it
continues to move into this area andsevere thunderstorm watch, and that's kind of
what paying close attention to if you'rein Douglas County and the surrounding area.
(34:06):
In the news headlines from around theworld, Vladimir Putin Russian President Vladimir Putin
in North Korea today, first timethat he is visited there since two thousand.
Remember what you were doing in twothousand, it's been that long.
(34:27):
Well, we are going to I'lltalk about this specifically, but Scott,
you are a much more experienced personin news talk radio, and you're calling
me old. Thank you sorry. The Vladimir Putin, like, am I
seeing this or you noticed it?That there seems to be a little bit
of a change in the way thatpeople are seeing Putin from a Western civilization,
(34:49):
at least the conservative side seems tobe a little less you know,
provoked to think that he is anevil dictator type in an authoritarian government,
even though I am trying to figureout why that narrative is starting to change.
Am I missing something here? Haveyou noticed this or is this just
a narrative that I'm seeing on myend? I think they obviously see him
(35:10):
as you know what, He isa former KGB agent who has no problem
either killing or imprisoning his political opponents. Just looking at the track record under
Republican presidents Bush and Trump, Putinbehaved for whatever reason, and under Obama
he went into Ukraine, took CRIMEAunder Biden. Now he's gone into Ukraine
(35:34):
again. So I mean, maybethere's just a different way of handling him
that Trump has been better at thanBiden and Obama. I don't know.
That anyone's walking around saying, Eh, Vladimir is a good guy, but
you know, Bush had a decentenough relationship with him, called him pooty
poot you know, sometff like that, and Putin behaved. Yeah, the
(35:54):
proofs of the putting on that.I think a lot of these guys with
that kind of behavior just want tobe we have someone, you know,
not you know, like one.Treat them seriously, you know, recognize
them for oh you're you're a verybig deal. Yes you are. Yeah,
yeah, Well you can tell thatthat stings him. The Tucker Carlson
interview, Tucker, you know,I think that has something to do with
(36:16):
it. People like see him oras a human now after that that,
if they watched that interview, itdidn't change my opinion about him. But
that was the vibe that it seemedlike Tucker took away, and that's the
vibe I took away too. Hewas the guy who desperately wanted to sit
at the jock table at lunch timeand was never accepted by the jocks,
and now he's hanging out with anotherguy that feels the same way, and
(36:37):
they're going to try to take thejocks down instead. Of trying to join
the jocks table anymore. They're nowgoing to set up booby traps outside of
football practice for these guys to walkinto. They're going to replace their you
know, soap with itching powder inthe locker rooms. That's what these guys
are trying to do here. AndI mentioned that because he's in North Korea
hanging out with Kim Jong UoN,So what's that mean? What is that
(36:59):
about out well, in what theyare considering an editorial or an op ed
or however you want to say it, in the North Korean state newspapers,
which of course we know were onehundred percent accurate and factual news that only
comes out of those state run newspapersin a dictatorship, He says, this
Pyongyang has always been our committed andlike minded supporter, ready to confront the
(37:25):
ambition of the collective West to preventthe emergence of a multi polar world order
based on justice, mutual respect forsovereignty, and consideration of each other's interest.
Russia has supported the DPRK, whichis essentially how they call themselves in
(37:47):
North Korea and its heroic people inthe struggle to defend their rights to choose
the road of independence, originality, and development by the sels in confronting with
the cunning, dangerous and aggressive enemyyesterday and tomorrow too, and will invariably
(38:08):
support them in the future too.End quote. So all of that to
be said. Whether or not Putinactually said that, or whether or not
the Korean state newspapers wrote those quotesfor him, I'm sure he was fine
with them. I will say this, I have a real problem with the
lack of Oxford commas in this piece. It was really breaking my brain and
(38:30):
I don't want to get back intothe Oxford comma thing, but I can't
take it seriously if you're not usingthe Oxford comma. I am sorry.
If I was ever taking North Koreaseriously before, I certainly am not now
thanks to the Oxford comma and thefact that they refused to use it.
Now, however, the streets inNorth Korea are aligned with giant posters of
(38:52):
Putin's face. The Russian flag iseverywhere. They were really ready to accept
him and to shake his hand, and virtually or figuratively, except for if
you know, if you're Kim Jongun, he actually got to shake his
hand for real. But the ideais that these countries now are going to
work together to go after the US, to go after Western civilization, the
(39:17):
people that are not letting them sitat the big boys table. They are
going after them in tandem. Andyou have to imagine that China would be
next. Right. I'm not sayingthat they're organizing some variation of you know,
the mon Stars or the Avengers,a bad version or variation of the
(39:38):
Avengers, right, But there arecountries that would love to take Western civilization
to the woodshed, Russia being one, North Korea being two. But you
have a couple of other gigantic playerslike China and Iran, who are just
sitting there waiting for somebody to say, Hey, you know what, if
we're going to get on the offensive, we can do it together. We
(39:58):
have enough firepower, you have enoughstrategic maneuvering that we feel like we can
do. Why not take Taiwan?Right? Why not get involved with Israel?
Well, I guess time is goingto tell on this, but Vladimir
Putin really says we are going tostrengthen our relationship with North Korea as we
(40:21):
help them in their plight to takedown the West. Good luck with that.
Homie. Three seventeen is the timeyou can call in four h two
five five eight eleven ten. Fourh two five five eight eleven ten is
the number. We'd love to talkto you if you have thoughts on this.
Today, we'll also talk to youabout Hunter Biden and when he was
in contact with said Chinese leadership andhow that could in some way relate to
(40:46):
the White House even now. We'lltalk about that next too on news Radio
eleven ten kfab. Emrie Songer onnews Radio eleven ten kfab. Donald Trump
in Wiscon huntson he is going tobe speaking to a crowd in ray Scene.
That is one of the six orseven states that probably could go either
(41:07):
direction and will certainly decide the election. I know that we're all kind of
looking ahead to next Thursday's debate. Will get to kind of some of my
personal thoughts on who really is goingto learn anything from that debate, and
we'll tell you exactly why I believethat later on in the show. But
(41:29):
also one of the big stories thathas absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump,
but has everything to do with hisopponent and his opponent's family, that
Hunter Biden, and this is areport and has been verified by Fox News
that he informed business associates in twentythirteen, which is still well within the
range of when Joe Biden was theVice president that top Chinese Communist Party leaders
(41:52):
allegedly asked him to travel to Chinatalk about future business opportunities. These are
any emails, of course, wehave paper trails of this. But Hunter
was, of course the NEPO babythat he is, was accompanying his buddy,
his father, who was the vicepresident, on a trip in Asia
(42:13):
that included China, South Korea, and Japan. And while in Beijing,
Hunter introduced Joe to one of thebusiness associates he was working with with his
businesses, and that was one ofseveral events that he was there with in
during the China part of this trip. And it was well after that that
(42:38):
he Jonathan Lee, who's a businessassociate that Joe Biden was introduced to and
as part of this trip, whowas an associate of his of Hunter's business,
emailed Hunter basically saying, you know, what would you like to discuss
(43:00):
certain business opportunities? Now I don'tknow what that means. You know,
the Communist Party of China is Imean the Communists. I don't know exactly
how that, like, how howit works when the government is trying to
make business dealings with other people.Do I think that the Chinese Communist Party
(43:21):
wanted to directly work with the WhiteHouse and try to work with the White
House? Uh? I don't know. I don't know if that is exactly
what we're talking about here, orif this was maybe some underground dealing of
you know, trying to connect withdollars and you know, jargon like that.
(43:45):
We don't have evidence that was therewas any reply on this from Hunter
Biden, so I couldn't tell youthat this gets a little sexier or more
salacious as the story gets deeper,But basically the idea that somebody felt comfortable
enough with Hunter Biden through business dealingsjust over a decade ago to email him
from the Chinese Communist Party and saybasically, hey, you want to do
(44:08):
some business dealings? Ask your dad. I know he's a big shot at
the White House. Maybe he couldbe involved here all of that. Of
course, you're just assuming that thatis part of what they were looking for,
and we have no evidence that anythinghappened. But even that kind of
conversation, right even in those kindsof like crosshairs of what we're talking about
(44:34):
with China specifically, even a decadeago. I mean I was in college.
I was taking a history class somewherein the twenty ten range, probably,
I was a young college student, and we were talking about how China's
economy is the way that they aresetting up their economy to grow and grow
(44:57):
and grow and grow and grow andtry to usurp the United State by any
means necessary as the largest economy inthe world. We also know that we
have a ton of money that weowe you know, a ton of foreign
governments and that you know includes partiallythe Chinese people. Well, China in
and of itself continues to be justlooming there, maybe waiting for a shoe
(45:20):
to drop to get on our badside in a way. I mean,
obviously we're not friends with them. They definitely are not friends of the United
States. But the idea that theywould even suggest that taking Taiwan or even
kind of maneuvering themselves to position themselvesto take Taiwan, this is all them
hanging out with their new buddies whoare North Korea in Russia and saying,
(45:43):
you know what, if there wasever a better time to get involved in
something like this where we can stretchout the you know, NATO allies as
thinly as possible, it's to dosomething like this while Hamas and Israel is
still going at it, Why whilePutin and Ukraine are still going at it,
while Iran and some of the otherlarge Middle Eastern countries are basically waiting
(46:07):
for a reason to get themselves involvedwith Israel. And that would be the
big fear of anybody who is notwanting to see the world hit war before
we get to you know, thenext administration, hopefully within the next few
months, but you never know.If things don't go Republicans' way in November,
the odds that, you know, whomever the president is, whether or
(46:28):
not at Joe Biden, I stillhave a lot of doubts that he's going
to be in office all that muchlonger. But whoever it is, is
just going to be a green lightfor that sort of thing to take place.
And that would be a worry forme. It'd be a worry for
anybody who wants to see the worldin a more peaceful state, the peace
through strength that the United States isable to exude when they have generally strong
(46:50):
conservative leadership, which has been thecase for the better part of every conservative,
you know, Republican president since Reaganright who basically into the USSR as
we know it through strength from theWest, by the way, which certainly
have led and his cronies are rememberingevery single day when they're in Ukraine.
It's like, hey, you knowwhat, We're not gonna listen to any
(47:13):
of those guys anymore. To me, I find it incredibly difficult to believe
that China is not entertaining the ideaof potentially going in and messing around,
maybe trying to take Taiwan over whilethe getting could be good. Something to
keep an eye on. Now,Again, like I said, there's week
leadership in the White House, theHunter emails and stuff. Who knows that
(47:36):
that's even legitimately relevant to any sortof corruption case that you could have against
Joe Biden when he would be inthe White House in that timeline during the
business dealings. We know that therewere some other things with people in Europe,
like in Ukraine with Hunter Biden beforethat. But I'm just saying from
where I'm sitting right now, basedon all of this It's an uncomfortable feeling
knowing that China has positioned itself tonot just be our enemy, but also
(48:00):
to try to team up with someof our other enemies and try to create
what very well could be a verychaotic situation. And we don't have the
leadership in this country to be ableto help deal with that, and I
don't know if the rest of ourNATO allies are going to be able to
do it without us. It's threetwenty eight when we come back. Plenty
more for you, including how farin debt would you go to treat your

No rain there. It appears nice, big crowd at this rally.
And of course Wisconsin is going tobe one of those states that could flip
either direction in November, and whoever'sgoing to carry those states likely to win
(57:19):
the White House. I don't thinkthere's going to be a lot of surprises
outside of those six or seven stateswe're talking about, Wisconsin, Michigan,
Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia,Nevada, Arizona. Kind of those are
the states you got to keep inmind and keep an eye on and Wisconsin.
Of course, I would imagine thatDonald Trump's going to be spending a
lot of his time in these specificstates. Wisconsin is the choice. Today.
(57:40):
We'll keep you updated on things thatwe hear, and if any big

Scott mentioned about the baseball game. We're going to try to keep you
posted on this, the Florida Statein North Carolina game, which is an
elimination game. I mean, thisis huge, one of these two team
seasons over at at this point,Well, whichever team wins, they're gonna
(58:02):
keep playing, but we got tofinish this game before this rain gets here.
You're kind of telling me, Scottthat we have about an hour or
so from right now before there's apossibility that you could see some lightning maybe
getting the way of this thing. That's what we thought right now, based
on the radar. In an hourfrom now, we still have the storms
(58:23):
outside of Fremont seward, and that'san hour from now, so so maybe
like an hour fifteen. But atthe same time, if I just pop
this radar ahead another twenty minutes, suddenly this slow moving system is suddenly like
around Omaha. So this radar hasalready got me once this week that I
(58:49):
use from one of the TV stationswhere it said, yeah, it looks
like rain. I was doing thisyesterday morning. It looks like rain's right
now impacting Fremont Blair, moving northeastaway from Omaha, and then five minutes
later raining our rooftop here at midtownOmaha. So you know, that's why
I always say, if the radaris to be believed, what I do
believe from this is that their officialsright now at the CWS just kind of
(59:13):
like, hey, come on,let's hustle this up. We're still in
the top of the six, bythe way, Yeah let's move guys.
We've been in the top of thesix for the better part of the last
oh fifteen twenty minutes. But ifthat game has postponed, it might be
three hours or so and then backon there to finish out the game.
Yeah, they already have postponed forreal. The second game between Kentucky and
(59:35):
Florida. That thing is going tobe a ten or ten sorry ten am
start time tomorrow morning. So ifyou had tickets for that one, you
were excited to go see that one. That's going to be a tomorrow thing
now, and you're gonna have togo early in the morning, and then
you have the uh, not justthat, but they're going to move the
second game from one o'clock to twoo'clock start time, and then of course
(59:57):
the night game schedule for six. With some sprinklings of rain throughout the day
tomorrow, it's going to be interestingto see how they're gonna maneuver all that.
But you do have to remember Thursdayis a completely clean day. They
do not have anything scheduled for Thursday, so if they do have to move
something two Thursday, they can, even though there's not a whole lot of
stuff that's going to be scheduled tohappen down there in the ballpark village.
(01:00:20):
But we're getting there. We're knockingone of these teams off at a time.
We have two teams that are alreadyeliminated. Another team is going to
be eliminated at the end of thisgame. And Florida State had the bases
loaded, leading seven to five, just was with the bases loaded. North
Carolina got out of it with nothingacross, So it's seven of five.
They are heading to the bottom ofthe sixth right now, and North Carolina
(01:00:40):
down by two, still plenty oftime for them to try to come back.
Should be an interesting race against timehere and these clouds that are moving
toward Omaha whether or not going tobe able to get this done. But
one thing that slowed it down. Both teams scored four runs each in the
fifth inning, so definitely kind ofslowed this game too. Halt three.
(01:01:01):
You go on vacations. Yeah,I'm going on vacation next week. If
I can get out of here. You yeah, get out of here than
I leave now? Yes? Please? No, please please don't. How
about Disney? You done Disney? No, we're Universal people. We've been
to Universal Studios Orlando a couple oftimes. Okay, just seemed like it
(01:01:24):
was more our speed with what mykids are into, especially the Harry Potter
stuff are really little. That's awesome. And they have something called Halloween Horror
Nights that they do in mid Septemberthrough October, which is basically shutting the
park down and doing a dozen hauntedhouses on the park, which is also
super fun. Great. So yeah, I've had friends that go to Disney.
(01:01:46):
They love it. Yeah, justbring along a small fortune and the
want to stand in line for areally long time, and you'll too enjoy
these theme parks. Okay, Iwent to Orlando with my wife, just
me and my wife. We don'tcare. And we did the Orlando thing
last January, so like eighteen monthsago. January is a good time to
go. Sure, it was reallygood, and it was like after the
(01:02:08):
Christmas rush crowd. Yeah, wedid the bad parent discount when all the
rest of America went back to schoolthe second week of January. We took
our kids out for a couple ofdays and went down there and had the
park to our Oh you go,it was super cheap. We didn't have
long lines, and you know, our parents or our kids had to redo
those grades. But still it wastotally worth it. Hey, you can
(01:02:29):
only make memories one time. Imean, so we went down there six
parks and six days. By theway, we were averaging like twenty two
thousand steps per day. My feethurt for a week after that, but
you know what, it was anawesome time. We were able to budget
it in a way that we could. We did all right, and then
obviously the extra stuff you have topay for, like we did, you
know, the Genie plus thing that'snot that expensive, but it really helps
(01:02:51):
with you know, ride schedulings andfood and beverage, which obviously when you're
in the theme parks is not goingto be super cheap that you have to
worry about. But for the mostpart, it was a great time.
But there are people there that aretaking small children, There are people there
that are going with larger families. There are people there that know they have
to spend a lot more money thanmaybe they have in the bank, and
(01:03:12):
they still want to have a goodtime. So officials from lending Tree have
done a study and say the averagefamily and as far as Disney is concerned,
will go over budget by roughly twothousand dollars per trip, and they
will need three to four months atleast to pay back the debt that they
accrue on their credit cards to makethat trip happen. So with that being
(01:03:37):
something that a study is telling us, I don't want to get too personal,
but how far into debt is worthgoing into debt for a trip like
that? If you think, ifyou're budgeting and thinking about things in those
terms, and know that all right, if we put this much on the
card based on what I think Ican budget here over the next few months
(01:03:59):
and get paid off or four months. I think a lot of families would
probably do that. When you're sayingthat most families underestimate the budget by two
thousand dollars. Though, if you'vebudgeted this and really that's pretty easy to
do. Here's what it costs tofly there. Here's how many nights a
hotel you can book this in advancethrough any of the various you know apps.
(01:04:20):
Here's what it costs to get intothe theme park. We're gonna have
to eat a couple of times.Here's I mean, that's a pretty easy
budget. And you're off by twothousand dollars. Yeah, then I don't
know if I believe you when yousay I'll get that paid off in two
three months. Well, and Iwonder if this study it doesn't really go
into details, but if they're willinglyjust saying I'm going to go into debt
(01:04:43):
by a couple thousand dollars, likeI don't have that money saved, and
I'm just going to be willing todo that on average by going into debt
two thousand dollars, That to meis also a little strange. I don't
know how other people are able todo that for us. You know,
we're going to Spain in September. That's the furthest going. And you know,
we're doing hardcore budgeting, and wegot to a number that we thought
(01:05:04):
we needed to have in the bankto comfortably go to Spain, that is,
hopefully without using any additional monies thatwe don't already have. Is that
something am I weird by by tryingto do it that way? Is it
a little more normal than I thinkit is for people with families to yeah,
(01:05:24):
you know what, we're just goingto eat this on the credit card
for a few months and pay itback when we have the chance. So
I hesitate to say it this waybecause I certainly don't want to come off
as as just money. You know. That's that's what people who aren't concerned
about, you know, not havingfood on the table at the end of
the month say if if you're ina position though, where you know you're
(01:05:45):
not flush with cash, but atthe same time, you know you've you've
got some you got able, You'reputting money here, you're putting money there,
You're being responsible. At some pointI get into the mode when it
comes to vacations, or I absolutelyhave to ignore how much money we're spending,
or I won't have fun, orI'll think about it too much in
advance and just decide it's not worthit. I won't go. My wife
(01:06:10):
and I did France shortly after wegot married, and we didn't have any
money. But we thought, well, if we don't do this right now,
once we're going to start having kids, we'll never go. It'll be
thirty years from now and we wantto do it. And we went a
little bit into debt, had toeat baloney sandwiches for a long time to
make it work. So glad wedid. You know, if if you're
(01:06:31):
being a little bit too penny wiseon some of this stuff, you'll miss
out on a lot of experiences ifyou can afford to do it now.
If it's either like I don't needmy diabetes medication, I'd rather go to
the Magic Kingdom, that's probably notthe right move, but it's America you
can do with John. Yeah, yeah, Well, if you've had experience

They did have a very quick bottomof the sixth inning in the game
over at Charles schwab Field. Rightnow, Florida State backup to the bat
(01:11:42):
top of the seventh innings. Theyhave three full innings left to play.
Florida State is seven to five lead. Whether it's taken basically almost three hours
to play six innings, you dothe math, that means it's about an
hour and a half or at leastninety minutes based on the pace that they're
at, about another nine tighty minutesto get through nine innings. We're going
(01:12:03):
to be close to that rain andwe'll see if things are going to happen
there. They are going to probablykeep those guys there all night to finish
this game one way or the otherif it does get interrupted by the rain,
because they have already postponed the nightgame tonight that is going to be
played tomorrow between Kentucky and Florida, and another elimination game tomorrow at ten am.
So something to keep in mind, something to think about as we count
(01:12:27):
down each and every one of theteams that are left here in Omaha,
and of course for the baseball gamesthat are taking place if you're wondering tomorrow,
Tennessee and Texas A and M arethe two teams that are two and
zero, the two teams that arelooking to try to make it into the
finals. They're just a step awayfrom doing that. They need to figure
out who the winner is of thegame that's going on right now, and
(01:12:49):
they also need to figure out howthe winner of the game that's played tomorrow
morning. So whoever plays tomorrow betweenKentucky and Florida, they're going to potentially
have to play later on Tomorrow nightagainst Texas A and M. And that
certainly is going to be a toughask unless the rain helps them out a
little bit tomorrow and pushes that TexasA and M game too, potentially Thursday,
(01:13:12):

and the amount of debt that youcould take or debt that you took on
a vacation that you thought was worthit. We have a few emails here,
Kyle emails, and it says it'sin hearing how much Americans are in
credit card debt. I've always wonderedabout how much debt is unnecessary, such
(01:13:33):
as needs versus oncet, utilities, mortgage and food versus eating out fancy shoes,
vacations and so on, because it'slip's upsetting if it's people using for
fun items or it's hard to hearthe people are in debt just to survive.
I think that's pretty accurate. Ithink for us. You know,
if I knew my parents were likein a couple thousand dollars of credit card
debt all of a sudden, butit's because they decided they were going to
(01:13:55):
make a European vacation trip, I'dbe like, good for you guys,
you know what I mean, Like, go have some fun. At the
same time, I still feel likein my heart and my wife and I

didn't get to go on a lotof trips like this. So we have
been pretty frugal about saving for ourbig Spain vacation, and we want to
(01:14:15):
make sure the money we plan tospend is money we already have. Kind
of thing. Corey emails in andsays, I've never been to Spain,

Oh? Yeah, all right, well let's fire away Christmas vacation. Obviously
it's better than vacation, but onlyslightly. European vacation only because it's better
than Vegas vacation and ed Helm's vacationbarely counts, but it's at the back

help you with anything else. Here, I'm Marie. I'm here for Griswold
National Lampoon vacation power rankings. Likeright off that, I mean, I
could do the same thing about theRocky movies, but I think we all
have about the same opinion. Rockyfour is the best, Rocky three is
right behind it. Yeah, arewe yeap? And then and then one?
(01:15:40):
Yeah, I go one, thentwo because that's one movie, right,
it's a one arc. I think. I think the first Rocky is
actually a great dramatic film and itturns into a great action franchise in three
and four, Rocky five. Wedo not acknowledge Rocky. I acknowledge it,
don't acknowledge it. Throw it inthe trash. Can I think it's
(01:16:01):
fun? It is not. It'sterrible. Tommy Morrison tries really hard to
save that movie. It was aterrible idea and that should never have been
attempted. But what it did dowas allow us to come back with Rocky
Balboa because Sylvester Stallone had a badtaste in his mouth comes back. That
was actually pretty solid. But it'sstill fifth of those five because we don't
count the fifth actual Rocky. That'sfine. And then if you throw the
(01:16:23):
Creed movies in there, all threeof the Creeds so far are in the
conversation with I think Rocky three tobe maybe the second best movie of that
entire Like, those are great movies. Wouldn't go there with you now,
do Police Academy? Oh gosh,I have ten seconds. Sorry, we're
gonna have to hold that conversation foranother time. But yeah, keep listening

The eighth inning is going to bestarting momentarily. We already know that the

you think they might be able toget through this without run into issues here?
I do? You know? Theworst of this storm right now is
just southeast of Hastings. So we'vegot portions of Adams County that have had
nickel size hail there around Hastings, and then just southeast of there in Clay
County, Fairfield. We have astorm chaser there in Fairfield with minor roof
(01:21:38):
damage reported due to quarter sized hail. We may mostly nickel and dime,
but a few quarter sized hail spotsthere in Adams and Clay County. Now
that's where it is now, andas this storm moves to the northeast,
it's like the worst of that partof it is cutting up toward it's Lincoln
(01:22:00):
in Omaha. But boy, it'sthat portion of it. It's not going
to be here until after seven o'clocktonight. We've got some dropping down from
the north that have some just thunderstorm, some rain, some strong winds and
so forth, but nothing too scaryright now. With some of the thunder
storms we might see around Omaha, maybe in an hour hour and a half
(01:22:21):
from now. It's kind of takingits time and getting here. In other
words, it's the longest answer toyour question, can we get this baseball
game in? I think we can. Yeah, I'm looking at this radar.
This is long. It's from midlike from Wichita to Minneapolis is where
this line of thunderstorms is right now, and it's the front end of that.
(01:22:43):
It's on a front, like ameteorological front. That that is where
most of the heaviest stuff is goingto be. So you get through the
heaviest stuff, we should be okayas far as the verer weather is concerned.
Right, You never want to saynever, but yeah, I don't
know that it's the first wave though, that brings the heaviest rain, maybe
the hail threat, but we gotI think maybe some hail, some strong
(01:23:05):
wins coming in here. That's aboutan hour and a half or so from
now, hanging out for maybe ahalf an hour at that point. So
five thirties, six thirty somewhere inthere is going to be that threat for
hale, for Omaha, and thenI think we got some heavy rains on
the back end of it. Butno one's paying me to you, just
tell you what I think. Thisis the assessment from the National Weather Service
(01:23:28):
as well. Yeah, the peoplewho you know at the same time we
do. We trust the meteorologists. They say that meteorological summer starts on June
first. What is meteorological summer?Meteorological summer. They do their seasons by
saying summer it starts on June firstand ends on September first. Everyone else
(01:23:48):
says summer starts when school's out orMemorial down. Oh okay, and then
people with calendars say it starts likeJune twenty first, Yeah somewhere there.
What is it, Emily Roller, you get to decide when her summer starts.
I don't know. You're right though, a lot of people are just
like, yeah, summer when thekids are out of school? All right,
(01:24:09):
fine, whatever, four eleven fortwelve. That's the time we are
watching that. We're paying attention toit, and we'll let you know the
updates as the afternoon. Where's on. We were talking about debt on trips,
debt on a trip in accruing debtand Rob emails in, and Rob
(01:24:30):
is loves to email in. Welove to talk to Rob through the email,
but He says, between nineteen ninetyfour and two thousand, when I
was aged twenty through twenty five,I went to Brazil three times, Argentina,
Russia, the Netherlands twice, Mexico, Tahiti, Fiji, New Zealand,
Australia, Switzerland, Egypt, Israel, Austria, Hungary, France,
Spain, and Italy. I wasn'tmarried, I didn't have children, I
(01:24:50):
didn't even have a house payment. And this is what happened. This is
how I was able to do that. Except for airfare, all of your
spences are about the same if youwent to Paris, France, or Paris,
Texas, Moscow Rush or Moscow Idaho. I was avoiding spending unnecessary money
(01:25:11):
and made sure I saved up forthe airfare. The airfare was the only
thing if you were living there thatyou had to pay for. I mean,
it's an interesting thought, Rob.You're basically paying to stay in a
hotel or wherever, or an Airbnbor Verbo or whatever people are doing these
days. But based on like andhe said he didn't even have a house
(01:25:34):
payment, so he was able tosave that additional money as well. So
I'm thinking to myself, Okay, theoretically, and this is one thing of
our budget that we did do.We're going to be in Spain for about
eleven days. This is one thingthat we did talk about was the hotel
there for like a four or fivestar hotel, which I don't want to
be up aty, but I likestaying in nice places. They are like
(01:25:59):
the same price is a hotel heregenerally, and we're going at a non
busy time of the year. We'regoing to Andorra for a few days as
well, which is a little tinymicro country in between France and Spain,
and you can get a five starhotel there for like sixty bucks. They
only have a few of them, but it's like fifty bucks sixty bucks for
a really nice hotel there. Becausethey don't tax stuff in Andorra, It's
(01:26:24):
like, okay, well that makesthat more affordable. The food there,
now, I can't speak on likethe touristy destinations where I'm sure they gouge
the tourists that are going to bethere in like Madrid and Barcelona, But
for the most part, most ofthe restaurant pricing that we saw is very
similar to eating out here. He'snot wrong, I mean your cost of
living, you might be a littlebit more apt to spend extra stuff.
(01:26:46):
And then obviously the Disney thing makesa little bit of a snaffoo because you
have to pay admission to go tothe parks for everyone, plus the food
at the parks, which is goingto be marked up. But when you're
just going there to go on vacationand just kind of be in a cool
spot, like you went to France, like what was that like, you
know, did you go do anythingoutlandish or were you just kind of living
there for a few days. We'rejust we're there for a week, and
(01:27:09):
we were in Paris, and wewent out to visit some of the castles
on the countryside and went to Versailles, and I tried to use what very
small bit of French I learned inhigh school in college, Like, what's
the point of learning this if I'mnot going to use at least on puh
And so, you know, sowe winipel Scott that's right, Bonger,
(01:27:31):
you know. So we did thatand it was fantastic. We were just
we did all the touristy stuff, but we were also hanging out with the
locals in montmart and places like that. It was a great trip. Yeah.
So that's kind of my thing withthe Spain thing. I just want
to get a good taste of Spain. I want to see the important stuff,
but I want to be there andjust feel like I was there.
Because I went to Jamaica once andI was in a resort like ninety five
(01:27:56):
percent of the time. Oh,then you weren't in Jamaica and I wasn't.
Really, I don't. And thereason I know that is for the
other five percent of the time whenI was we did an excursion into Appleton,
the Appleton Estate, Rum Distillery.Yea. And on the way there,
which was, by the way, very cool. But on the way
there, you see real Jamaica.Yeah, I wondered, who braided your
(01:28:17):
hair? Yeah? I didn't havelong hair when I went there. Unfortunately,
that'd have been great. But yousee the houses, you see the
people, you see what life islike for a lot of them when you're
not on that resort on the coastof Jamaica and you're like, wow,
now this this is Jamaica. AndI wanted I don't want to do that
in just hiding a resort in acool place. I want to kind of
(01:28:40):
experience what it's like to live there. Now. I know very little Spanish,
like it took me a while tomaster the word bonyos. But you
know, for anybody that has goneto a foreign country and just wanted to
like hide in a resort, Ijust don't feel like, is what's the
point of doing that. At thesame time, like Rob said, the
air was the only thing that youreally had to like over budget for because
(01:29:05):
that's the only thing you wouldn't bepaying for a living here. Instead of
buying groceries, you're buying food out. It's gonna be slightly more expensive,
but you can budget for that insteadof you know, driving a car,
you're topping on a train or you'retaking a city bus or something. You
could budget for that. It's justit's an interesting, interesting thing that makes
me really feel surprised that people areover budgeting or going over budget on these
(01:29:28):
Disney trips on average by about twothousand dollars, even though you knew what
the price of the parks were beforeyou went. Even At the same time,
if I'm going two thousand dollars indebt to take my kids to Disney
for the first time, I'm gonnahave zero regrets about that, no matter
how many like you said the bolooneysandwiches for us, you know, we
did the wedding. Our wedding wasthe big time that we went way over
(01:29:48):
budget and went into debt. Yeah, for you know, a solid year
there. You're probably just like, hey, we got to be kind of
careful about the way that we're spending. Yeah, but you're only gonna get
married three or four times in yourlife times if you're lucky. Yeah,
if you're four seventeen, if you'vegot thoughts, you can call in four
h two five five, eight toeleven ten. Four h two, five
to five, eight to eleven ten. Not only paying attention to the weather,
(01:30:09):
but I'm paying attention to this debate. Next week we'll talk about that
and some of the rules and howI feel like it's probably setting up for
the people that are undecided voters thatare going to be watching this thing.
I'll try to explain my best nexton news radio eleven ten kfa B.
The last few innings here in FloridaState leading North Carolina is seven to five
in an elimination game. The secondgame tonight already can't or postponed, rather
(01:30:30):
between Kentucky and Florida. They'll playtheir elimination game tomorrow at ten am.
That's the schedule time. Anyway. The second game tomorrow, which is going
to be Tennessee against I think thewinner of this Florida State North Carolina game,
that's going to be a two o'clockstart time, and don't one o'clock
star time, assuming we are ontime after the first game, and then
tomorrow night's game between Texas A andM and the winner of tomorrow mornings Kentucky
(01:30:53):
and Florida game will then be scheduledto play at roughly six o'clock, even
though there's some rain in the forecast. Again, but what radar is constantly
constantly updating right now, Scott, and you're looking right at it. My
radar just showed a lightning strike nearFremont. Fremont is thirty miles from the
ballpark. If you get a lightningstrike within ten miles of the ballpark,
(01:31:15):
you've got to wait that out.I think it's about a forty five minute
wait or so every time there's alightning strike. And to tell you,
if you heard my example a momentago of the Scary movie, I mean
I'm moving my finger on this radar, and at five thirty four the thunderstorms
are on the west side of Fremont. At five forty six minutes later on
(01:31:36):
this radar, it's all over OmahaCouncil Bluffs. So it just suddenly just
jumps up here like someone cut outthe middle of this and said, and
here it is. Now that's stilllooking at about an hour or so from
now. But I am thinking here, as we look at this, we
might see some of this thunderstorm activityjust building outside the west part of Omaha,
(01:31:59):
in west part of Walmahut about anotherhalf an hour from now. Well,
you look at the lightning is goingto be the thing that your College
World Series officials are certainly going tobe pink very close attention to, because
even if that lightning beats the rain, that could be bad news for trying
to get this game completed. Butagain, like I said, they're in
the bottom of the eighth inning andthey're trying to get this thing finished up
before it gets a little too perilousout there. And we'll keep you updated
(01:32:23):
on that as the night goes on, and we'll continue to keep you posted
because there is a severe thunderstorm warningfor a little slice of a county,
Clay County, just southeast of Hastings. It's now out of Adams County,
that is Hastings, but just southeastof there. So Harvard, Fairfield,
Sutton, that area got a severethunderstorm warning. In fact, they just
(01:32:45):
increased it to now it's a severethunderstorm warning for Clay, Fillmore, Hamilton,
and York Counties for another one hourand five minutes. Still five point
thirty. So it's moving kind ofeast northeast here at this point. Harvard.
All the people smart over there.Oh yeah, the Harvard Cardinals beautiful
community just east of Hastings. Ohwow, is it Yale? Is there?
(01:33:08):
Yale somewhere? Don't be stupid everyYeah, that's right next to Yale,
Princeton and Mit Nebraska. Wow,Oxford Nebraska. They say they talk
weird over there. Yeah. Myfamily is all from Harvard. That's the
root of the Vorheast family. Andthey all use that joke. Oh,
I'm a Harvard Man. Never getsold in my family. Hey, this
(01:33:31):
is fun. I enjoy this.Okay, it's for twenty seven. We
are going to keep you posted ona minute by minute basis. A five
minute by five minute basis, aswell as you talk about all of the
stuff that is happening in the weather, and I will get to my analysis
of the latest information we have onthis debate and kind of the thoughts that
I have on whether or not thoseundecided voters which actually do exist, and
(01:33:54):
if they are actually going to learnanything based on the rules and the format
of this debate. Next Thursday. We'll get to that coming up on news
radio eleven ten KFAB and Maurice Sungon news Radio eleven ten KFAB. Florida
State's attacked on a couple more inthe top of the ninth inning. They
lead North Carolina nine to five.No extra innings would be good news for
them over there to make sure thatthat is going to be happening and get
(01:34:17):
them out of there ahead of thisrain that's on the way. It is
getting just a few shades grayer anddark grayer in the window at our Dundee
studios, and we're keeping an eyeon that for you as that weather continues
to move into eastern in southeastern Nebraska. Giant, big old thing. What
do you call that a line? It's a front, but it's you know,
(01:34:40):
a line of storms that are goingthrough a few different states. And
yeah, you're we're in the Midwest. What do you know severe weather.
It's been like a week since nowwhat Saturday Saturday was kind of severe,
wasn't yeh Saturday night? So we'vehad severe weather at least once or twice
a week every week for most ofthe spring. Here. Yep, lot
of hail. Yeah there you go. Yeah, have fun with that.
(01:35:02):
Welcome back to the Midwest. It'sfour thirty six. I'm going to talk
not about whether but about this debatethat's happening in nine days. First of
all, if you want to watchthe debate, we're having one heck of
a party and this is going tobe at Buffalo Wings and Rings here in
Omaha, and that's going to benext Thursday. I would love to see
you there. I've not been toa debate watch party before in my life.
(01:35:25):
You tell me that it's a goodtime. It's a great time.
It's pick your favorite sporting event, and it's like that where people are cheering,
booing and crying and screaming and laughingand uh crying for real, yeah,
jeering, I mean any it all. As long as you know you're
not yelling constantly so people can hear. That's what we do at a debate
(01:35:46):
viewing party. The groans. Ijust love where after one of the debate
you know, candidates, is upthere and says something that a majority of
the crowd disagrees with, and theoutrage fires for like eight seconds. Afterwards
just like ah, you've got you, and everyone calms down and it's just
so much fun. So Biden andTrump first presidential debate. CNN is hosting
(01:36:12):
it next Thursday. We are hostingthe debate viewing party. And as you
said, there, Emery m it'sat Buffalo Wings and Rings one hundred and
twenty second and L in the LStreet Marketplace. The debate starts today.
Get there early, get some food, hang out. It's gonna be a
great time next Thursday. Yeh,it's gonna be a good time. Yeah.
Okay, So can I ask youa few questions in your expertise?
(01:36:33):
Am I under oath? No,I'm basically making you the tzar of debates.
Okay, give me like five rulesthat you would think an ideal debate
for the president of the United States. It's a one v one This is
for these two guys. Specifically orgenerically generically, because that's a whole different
(01:36:54):
thing. You are the czar ofdebates for presidential debates, hence thoth you
are going to. It's a it'sone versus one. There's no third party
candidate. We are not including thembecause nobody else is. Let's be honest,
and I just need what the idealrules for American viewers for a debate.
I tell you how I like torun a debate, and I've had
(01:37:14):
the opportunity to moderate several debates, and I just work on keeping it fair.
Now we had a timer, andwe'll give everyone the sign like,
hey, we're coming up against time. If you go way over your time,
then the other guy's going to geta chance to go way over his
time. The one thing I reallydo not like is when you've got a
candidate up there actually answering a question, really giving a substantive thought on something,
(01:37:39):
and it's like that's time, dang, you know, Like, okay,
how about just out of being adecent human being, give him or
her a few more seconds to wrapup, and then just give an extra
few seconds the next person. Ilove coming to the end of a debate
looking to see who got what timeand having it be even even though we
might have gone outside the boundaries ofthe time limit just to try it.
(01:38:00):
And I have no problem jumping ingoing Okay, you've had a lot more
time to explain this. I wantto give your opponent a chance to respond,
and you get an extra minute becauseI'm the last answer. That person
took an extra minute. Just aslong as you're being fair. We don't
have to be rigid, just befair. Okay. So that's rule number
one is that's all. That's allmy rules? Oh, that's it.
Okay. Outside of that, youknow, no below the belts, no
(01:38:24):
rabbit punches, you know that kindof thing, no ipoking. Yeah,
yeah, okay. So the rulesfor this one, where are you on
muted microphones? Let the American peoplesee what these guys really are like.
You know, you're the president ofthe United States. You're going to potentially
be in a room not just withyour own advisors in a potential war room
(01:38:47):
situation, but you're also going tobe dealing with world leaders. You're also
going to be dealing with the Speakerof the House who might be of a
different party than your own. Noone's going to be muting anyone's microphones in
these situations, I want to knowwhat you really like when the heats turned
up and you have to act likethe president of the United States, Can
(01:39:09):
you do it? What do youthink of crowds at debates, like live
studios, like live audiences at debates, which obviously we saw plenty of this
in the caucus in primary season.I don't care that much. I don't
mind that few seconds of audible outrageafter a candidate says something that half the
crowd disagrees with. It's so stupidwhen they say, we have found a
(01:39:31):
voter right now who's an independent voterwho does not decided who they're going to
vote for, And here's a questionlike, no, you haven't come on,
Just that's ridiculous. We don't needthis theater here, Okay, So
yeah, I think most people aregoing to agree with everything you've just said.
I have a few different things.I'm a little bit outside the box.
(01:39:54):
I hate live audiences at debates.I think it's pointless. I think
it's stupid. I think it's avariable that is a factor to the viewing
of the debate. For instance,I was watching one of the early debates
and they had like seven people onthe stage for the Republicans last year,
and the vike Ramaswami and Nicki Haleawere going after it. They were going
(01:40:15):
after it, and it was therewere good one liners. They were going
back and forth. Obviously, theirmike's are live, so they're going after
each other. But it was whenVivek brought Nicki Haley's daughter into the mix.
Nicki didn't have to say a wordbecause all of a sudden, the
crowd started booing the vague and thatwas the moment, right, that was
the moment everybody was sharing. Andif I'm a voter who hadn't made up
(01:40:36):
their mind yet and I'm trying tofigure out who the best candidate is for
me, am I going to beinfluenced by the thought of the group think
in that audience that I'm hearing onthat national television broadcast Versus am I going
to be won over by the wordsand the reaction of the people that are
on the stage. It's just avariable that I just don't think adds anything
but negatives to the American viewing public. And it also interferes with the debate
(01:41:00):
in a lot of ways. Yeah, from an entertainment standpoint, I like
it for all the reasons you justsaid. Gives us something to talk about.
We saw what people there reacted to. But at the same time,
without an audience, then I don'tthink Ramaswami goes for some of those punchlines
if he knows he's not going toget that reaction. You actually have to
be more substantive and to your excellentpoint there, Emory about you being maybe
(01:41:23):
unduly influenced based on how the crowdis reacting some of this stuff. One
of the most famous examples is theNixon Kennedy debate of nineteen sixty where people
who were listening on the radio thoughtNixon won the debate. They listened to
what they said. People watched iton TV thought Nixon lost by a landslide
because he just looked kind of,you know, old and sullen and cranky
(01:41:45):
compared to the young and fresh faceKennedy. They were influenced by what they
saw there. So what you're sayingthere absolutely can't have an impact in the
minds of the voters. The ThomasDewey mustache effect. The mustache effect,
yeah, yeah, yea. Hehad to do with shade the mustache.
That's all I had to do.Yeah, I didn't want to do that.
Okay, anyway, Well that's mything. Is no live audience here
(01:42:06):
for this debate next Thursday. Thisis great. I think that is an
excellent idea, But some of them, right, there's no student of the
audience. And that's great. It'snice that the moderators have the tools at
their disposal. How did we decidethe CNN was getting the first one of
these? Can we? Is itbecause the Biden administration walked up to the
(01:42:30):
networks they knew would be friendly tothem and said, hey, please take
it easy on us. But ifyou'd agree to do that, and you
agree to all of our rules inour parameters, and I'll get to more
of those in a second, youguys will have this ratings coup, which
is essentially what it is for seeingit, and it's like, oh yeah,
heck yeah, people will watch this. And then Donald Trump, wanting
to put his money where his mouthis, saying I'll take that guy in
(01:42:50):
a debate anytime, anywhere, anyplace, you tell me when and where.
He doesn't want to be the guythat says, wait a second,
come on, that's not a fairplaying field, home field advantage for the
Democrats for real. And Jake Tapper, who was as vocal about the Trump
campaign maybe as anybody in national media. He is, along with Dana Bash,
(01:43:11):
going to be doing the moderating here. I have a level of uncomfortability
with the idea that this isn't atleast like you can have Jake, but
we should be bringing in Hugh hewittttoo. Trump doesn't care. In the
last few weeks, he's gone toHarlem, which has never voted for Republicans
for anything. He was just theother day in Detroit. We just never
(01:43:32):
voted for Republicans for anything. Youknow. Can you imagine President Biden going
into a place that's a Republican strongholdergoing on Fox News. Trump will go
on CNN, He'll talk to thesepeople. He talks to these reporters.
I don't think he minds this. It's like, all right, what's it
take to get Biden to agree toa debate? Well, I want to
be on CNN. Fine, seeyou there. He's like Michael Jordan,
(01:43:55):
wearing that away red, shutting thecrowd up, instead of you know,
doing it to the adulation of thepeople. I think he enjoys that.
That's fair. That's fair to me, though, I think he's as tall
as Jordan is too. Six.Yeah, he's a he's a doll guy.
Look, I'm looking at this fromthat perspective, and I just I'm
questionable about the questions. A stupidword to use for there, but I
(01:44:18):
just I'm unsure that I'm going tothink that the questioning is fair. And
that's maybe my bias that I haveagainst what I'm expecting here. I'm going
to premeditated going in here. I'mgoing to try to be as fair and
open minded before the debate and thinkthat Tapper and Bash are going to do
a fair job. Like you said, you want to be as fair as
(01:44:38):
possible, and there are such strictrules in here. But my fear is
that the questions, the wording ofthe question is designed to potentially trap a
candidate and be a lot less ofa trap for the other candidate, And
that would be my biggest fear. Now it's about four forty six. There
are more factors here, and onethat I think is the big one coming
(01:44:59):
up that I think is going tomake a huge difference and why that could
really make an impact to the undecidedindependent voter. I'll get to that next
on news radio eleven ten kfab.Bottom of the ninth Now North Carolina down
by four, nine to five,Florida State with the lead. North Carolina
needs four to tie. They havea runner on first and nobody out.
And we'll let you know exactly howthat thing is shaken out as we get
(01:45:21):
deeper into the ninth inning, asthat is going to be. First of
all, the one thing that happensright is we have that game finishing,
and that's it because the nightcap hasbeen postponed between Kentucky and Florida to tomorrow
morning at ten am. So moreon that as the afternoon goes on.
But they just want to get thisdone because we're kind of button up here
(01:45:44):
in the next forty five minutes toan hour probably of what pretty heavy rain,
seemingly according to the radar, isgoing to be hitting the Omaha area,
and we'll keep you posted every stepof the way on that one.
Back to the debate and the rulethat I think is going to make the
biggest difference, So ninety minute debatewith only two commercial breaks, which I
think is pretty important to note. We're not going to have a ton of
(01:46:05):
breaks in between. This thing ninetyminutes with just two commercials, I think
is very acceptable. In the twocommercials, according to cn END, the
campaign staff cannot interact with their candidates, So it's kind of like tennis where
the coach cannot actually like make legitimatecommunication with the player. That would be
illegal. Both candidates also have apodium in front of them, the podium
(01:46:29):
positions determined by a coin flip leftor right, and the microphones. This
is the big one. Microphones arenot going to be on while the other
person has their turn to talk. That means they are muted throughout the debate
except when a candidate is addressed andit's their turn to speak. No props,
no pre written notes allowed on thestage. The candidates will have only
(01:46:51):
a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water on their
podium and available to them. Soagain, if we are willing to believe
all that, then this microphone mutingthing is going to be a great experi
experiment for the American public. Nowyou want to talk about entertainment, Donald
(01:47:11):
Trump totally would have had the upperhand in that regard because he would have
been able to flip through really quicklyand turn around and address anything that Biden
would have mentioned specifically. Well, this being the case as far as the
microphone being on for the person thatcan talk but the other person cannot.
It'll be interesting to see if somebodyelse tries to jump in, if they
(01:47:33):
will immediately turn their mics on,or if they keep them muted and try
to tell them, hey, wecan pick you up on the other microphones
in the room. I don't knowhow that's going to work. Also,
if Joe Biden goes on a sixtysecond monologue or a very quick monologue about
something that is about maybe Bidenomics orsomething that certainly there's going to be a
lot of holes to poke into.Donald Trump is going to need to think
(01:47:57):
about what he wants to say beforehe actually says in his rebuttal. Unless
the rules of the debate are they'regoing to change the topic of conversation before
he has a chance to respond tothat. Those are the things we're going
to have to keep in mind on. I do think that's how the moderators
and the TV network are going tobe able to pinpoint exactly how they want
to potentially aid the elderly gentleman that'scurrently the president by controlling what topics are
(01:48:24):
being asked and win and who getsfirst go and who gets second go.
So Donald Trump has less opportunities todirectly respond to likely incorrect information from Joe
Biden than vice versa. Again,I'm gonna try to my best to give
Jake Tapper Dana bash and seeing inall of the opportunity in the world to
prove me wrong. But I dofeel, under no circumstances Donald Trump going
(01:48:46):
to go in here feeling like he'sgoing to get a fair shake. And
I don't think his supporters are goingto give CNN a whole lot of the
benefit of the doubt. Either it'swhether or not those independent voters see through
this or not, or they allare somehow influenced by the way that this
is moderate. Only time will tellnine days away well at the five o'clock
(01:49:06):
hour. Plenty more on the wayright here, including a weather update on
He's ready eleven to ten KFAB.The only game that was going to be
played at the College World Series iscomplete nine to five. Florida State defeats
u n C North Carolina. Theyare out. Florida State goes on and
they'll play Tennessee tomorrow in a gamethat they have to win to keep their
(01:49:26):
season alive. As far as tonight'sscheduled game between Florida and Kentucky, another
elimination game, well that is postponedto tomorrow at ten am. It's going
to be a long day at theCollege World Series. Ten am starts time
for that game. The two pmstart time game is North Caro or sorry,
Florida State against Tennessee and that wouldbe followed then by the night cap
(01:49:46):
at six o'clock that is supposed tobe Texas A and M against the winner
of tomorrow morning's game between Kentucky andFlorida. Now there's rain in the forecast
for parts of tomorrow as well. We'll see if that affects the scheduling at
all for ten am, two pm, and six pm. But if you
want more information, just to goon to the website or any of the
social media of the NCUBA or NCAABaseball or College World Series and they'll have
(01:50:11):
all that information for you. I'msure the party is going to be a
little quelled tonight with no game, and obviously Thursday there's nothing on the schedule,
so if they do have to movesomething from tomorrow, they do have
a day that they can make upstuff. But something to keep in mind
there as well. Just found outfrom Scott Voorhees, who's paying attention to
the cycle here, that Iowa GovernorKim Reynolds going to be joining Clay and
Buck tomorrow afternoon, just after thetop of the twelve o'clock hour. Yeah,
(01:50:35):
no, no, six, We'vegot Governor Kim Reynolds on the latest
Biden and Trump pulling out of Iowa. Yeah, which I talked about,
which by the way, you know, do you think it's okay if I
usurp them by nineteen hours real quick? Yesterday I talked about this while I
was sitting in the white tent atthe Blurt Evictent down there by the College
(01:50:56):
World Series. I heard that fiftyto thirty two percent is the latest poll
based from the Des Moines Register inmediacom. It's their Iowa poll. They
do that with fair amount of regularity, and they have the same questions.
It's just insert politician here, insertpolitician here. And Iowa was so read
right now, it is so redand the top comp the top issues that
were mentioned the obvious ones, inflation, immigration, low, approval rating twenty
(01:51:24):
eight percent, now as low asit's been in Iowa for Joe Biden,
but that's not all that far offof pretty much every state that we've seen,
and you know, you want toknow something, In twenty twenty one,
based on the Iowa poll, theapproval rate for Joe Biden was even.
It was like fifty to fifty onwhether or not you approve or disapprove
of what he was doing. Itwas like in by fifty to fifty,
(01:51:45):
I mean like forty five forty five, because you know, there's always ten
percent of people like, oh,I don't know, you know there,
I'm not sure. But of thepeople that were surveyed just three years ago,
people actually felt like it wasn't likeit was predetermined. People gave him
an open mind, a good shot, and sometime in twenty twenty one,
when that inflation thing started to creepup, after the stipends, after the
(01:52:08):
stimulus packages, after you had youknow, twenty twenty in the fallout of
that, people gave him a shot. In mid twenty twenty one, and
by the end of twenty twenty one, as everything became more and more expensive,
for the average person, energy costswent up and then into twenty twenty
two and twenty twenty three. Obviouslywe're seeing not just inflation sticking around,
but sticking around at a high level. Immigration becoming a bigger issue by the
(01:52:31):
month. People in the state ofIowa among other states that generally lean read
like this guy is not for America. So it'll be interesting to see what
Governor Reynolds has to say. Andshe'll be on with Clay and Buck tomorrow
just after the top of the noonhour. Another thing that is going on
that we were keeping in touch withwas the visit of Vladimir Putin to North
Korea, and this is an importantfactor for just a couple of things.
(01:52:57):
I don't think it's super surprising thatthese two guys would be peace and pod,
but it is the first time intwenty four years that Putin has gone
into North Korea and talked to theirleader. That obviously predates Kim joungk un.
But we know that North Korea isalways looking to try to palle around
with some of the big boys. They want to be considered one of the
top and most important and most influentialcountries in the world. Even if it
(01:53:18):
is has nothing to do with anythinggood that they do, has everything to
do with the fact that they wantto be one of the top countries when
you think of nuclear weapons. Butyou throw in Vladimir Putin, who also
has a little bit of this stainon him that he's not real interested in
talking about the in Western culture likethe United States, Britain and a lot
(01:53:42):
of the European NATO countries because ofthe way that they shun him and treat
him like he's not one of them. He's not on their level. He's
not included in a lot of thereindeer games that are played with world leaders
around the world. And I'm surehe saw that G seven meeting last week
and was like, you know what, they won't invite me to that sort
(01:54:03):
of thing. So I'm gonna makemy own G seven. Call up Kim
Jong yun, let's call up Zizimping, Let's call up who can we Is
there a way we can get stolenlike Futurama style, you know, brought
back to life and have him bea part of this, because I mean,
he'd fit in Mussolini as well.I mean, we just don't have
enough villains in the world apparently forVladiputin to have an opportunity to build his
(01:54:26):
little avengers of misfit toys around theworld and try to threaten the people that
actually have civilization. That makes sensein twenty twenty four, but with enough
conflict around the world, obviously he'sinto Ukraine, North Korea is looking to
fight anybody at any point. Itseems like China is staring Taiwan directly in
the face. You look at whatHamas is doing in the proxies that belong
(01:54:48):
to Iran, but also some ofthe other Arabic countries that wouldn't mind mixing
it up with them too. Youthrow all of those factors into the mix.
There may be enough countries with enoughresources that they could make some noise
in a way that could be threateningto the rest of the world, and
we just hope that a greater conflictdoesn't come of it. Another thing that
I've said attention to is on thetwelfth anniversary of the Dreamers Act or whatever
(01:55:12):
DACA. If I say Dreamers,do you know what I'm talking about?
If I say DAKA, do youknow what I'm talking about? More?
I know both of what you're talkingabout, But I think you could probably
say both and cover everyone who mighthave some idea what you're talking about,
because you're probably going to explain itmore detail now anyway. Yeah, and
three two, Well, the DACAin the Dreamers twelve years ago, it
(01:55:36):
was one of the things that BarackObama was most proud of when it came
to the immigration law. Essentially, kids that were born to illegal immigrants in
the borders of the United States werenot going to be deported because they were
here when they were children and illegally. Under if you're born here, you're
(01:55:59):
here. Are kids who are broughthere as kids across the border illegally and
they've been raised here, they've beeneducated in our schools, they're already working
here that kind of thing. Thankyou for the clarification for my stumbling and
bumbling about those a long time ago, twelve years Yeah, I was.
I'm looking at this and this isintentionally done on the twelfth anniversary of this
(01:56:19):
act by what then Vice President Biden. But this act that he's talking about
today, which is another you know, executive order type thing, that about
five hundred thousand people in the UnitedStates are going to be affected and it's
not necessarily their children, but itis the spouses of American citizens who are
not documented are illegal immigrants, andthis would protect them from deportation. It
(01:56:44):
is important, though, that thereare some parameters on this. I'm not
saying that this is necessarily all thatbad of an idea, because you can't
It's not like, Okay, heannounces this, and then you have forty
days to get married real quick tosomebody and then you can be you can
stay here legally. That's not whatthis means. What this means basically is
that the spouses of US citizens canapply for what they're calling a parole in
(01:57:08):
place program. They wouldn't be deported, but they have to have lived in
the United States for ten years. They have to have been married before Monday.
So basically, if you weren't marriedwhen this was announced, you're not
eligible for this. And of courseon top of that is the green card.
You have three years at that point. If you apply to this and
(01:57:29):
are accepted into the program, youhave three years. So apply for a
green car and have the ability toget work release and the ability to work
here and you're not going to beejected from the country. So what is
this on top of I guess itwas two weeks ago now that we had
the original executive order to slam theborder shut with Biden said pretty exclusively today
(01:57:54):
while he was talking about this,he said, Oh, that's working.
It's working great. We have literallyseven days of closed border in which we
are trying to figure out if itis or is not working, and we
still have not heard any answers aboutthe seven million people that have come over
in the last three years that certainlywould not be affected by this new executive
order, and certainly you're not goingto be affected by the new closing of
(01:58:15):
the border for the encounters with theborder patrol. So what about those seven
million people. We're just going toforget about that, and hopefully that comes
up in the debate somehow. Idon't know the way that they're muting the
microphones. I'm not sure Biden's goingto have to answer any direct questions about
that, because I'm sure Jake Tapperand Dana Basher are going to take care
of him. But that's my biggestquestion is how are you going to explain
(01:58:38):
to the American people that the sevenmillion people that have come in the last
three years since you rolled back theTrump era regulations and rules of the border.
How you can possibly explain how that'sa good thing for America that they
aren't paying the taxes that they Yeah, sure they're coming and maybe they're working
important jobs, but it's negatively impactinga lot of these economies. And obviously
(01:59:00):
for these sanctuary cities, it's beentaxing them to a point where even Eric
Adams in New York City mayor said, this is going to cost me twelve
billion dollars a year just to keepthese people here. I mean, they
volunteered themselves to be able to takethese kinds of people in and now they're
paying the price as well because theytotally underestimated the amount of people that would
try to take advantage of our lackadaisicalimmigration rules at the southern border. We're
(01:59:26):
going to see if anything actually doescome of that, and as soon as
we have legitimate data over about amonth or so, we can figure out
if the executive order is actually working. But again, like we talked to
Senator Ricketts last week, and likewe've talked to a few different people throughout
the last several months that are inWashington, DC and their ability you know
to talk to Debt Fishery was actuallyat the border at one point talking about
like what exactly we're going to doabout the seven million people already here,
(01:59:49):
because that's also still a major problem. Whether or not that actually gets addressed,
we are going to hopefully eventually findout or by November we just have
from people in charge who are goingto be able to do something about it.
And then you know, I don'twant to say it's open season necessarily
on people who came across illegally overthe last four years, but I tell
(02:00:11):
you what, it's going to bea lot less comfortable for them in the
United States if that were to happen. It's five eighteen. Well, if
you want to talk about this oneUS, you can four two five five
eight eleven ten four h two fivefive eight eleven ten more on the incoming
weather and some of the other weirdthings happening weatherwise around the country, because
I find this fascinating as well. We'll do that next on news radio eleven
ten KFAB and Rais Songer on newsRadio eleven ten KFAB. Fund lines are
(02:00:34):
open, though a four roh twofive five eight eleven ten four h two
five five, eight eleven ten.We were talking about the latest in the
Joe Biden administration on illegal immigration, with this latest deal that he has put
out on the twelfth anniversary of theDreamers Directive from the Obama administration, which
(02:00:54):
basically is going to allow spouses ofAmerican citizens if they are illegal and they've
been in the country for ten yearsand they're already married, they'll have the
ability to basically protect themselves against deportationbecause of their marriage to a United States
citizen and the ability to get awork from it much easier. We'll take
an your thoughts for two five five, eight eleven ten. Rods on the
(02:01:15):
line. Rod, thanks for thecall. What's up, Emery. We've
talked about this several times and Itold you none of them, no Gym,
no Pete Ricketts, all of themin the game for the dollar dollar
bills. Like my nephews Wu Tangsaid, these guys are behind the money.
How many farmers live off of theimmigrants. How many factories in this
(02:01:36):
state live off of the immigrants. How many real estate people rent their apartments
to the illegal immigrants. So it'sa big money No Republican, no Democrats.
We just let's not be naive already. Okay, let's let's let's reality
check what they're doing. Now.Hey, you know what, I think
that's a great point, Rod.Everybody who takes part in this, even
(02:01:58):
the businesses obvious, there are somepositives for those people to put their necks
out and do this kind of thing. But at the same time, I
think it is going to take ateam effort and a concerted effort to try
to help protect on this for thefuture. I appreciate the call, Rod,
Thanks for your information. Today, let's go to Kathy real quick.
Kathy, welcome to the show. What's on your Mind? Hi? Ammy?
(02:02:21):
I listened to you every day onthe dive home. Thank you,
appreciate you too. I have aquestion so our executive order, like we're
shutting the border, is it agood thing? Do you agree with it
or not? Well? The executiveorder itself is a little confusing because what
we've been asking for as an Americanrepublic concerned about the southern border was just
(02:02:45):
to enforce already important laws within ourconstitution and the rules that we had our
southern border before. But Joe Bidenrolled back a lot of whatever Donald Trump's
policies were because he wanted to flexthat he won the election in twenty twenty,
and that created a lot of loopholesfor these illegal immigrants to not just
get caught at the border. Whenthey're caught there were released to be in
the United States, and their courtdates weren't for eight or nine years.
(02:03:08):
So I think the executive order isgoing to make a positive difference because it
couldn't get worse. At the sametime, he waited strategically until a moment
where he could use it as baitfor the election, bait for the debate,
bait for November, basically before heactually did anything. Because I think
he and a lot of the Democratslike the open border thing for a lot
of different reasons, including populating, further populating a lot of these urban areas
(02:03:30):
that are already very blue to helpcontinue to help support not just the district
numbers that they have, but alsothe ability to continue building up their voter
base in these already blue areas.Okay, Okay, so I mean everyonehe
I talked to us, But Idon't know, why do you wait until
(02:03:51):
you know this time? You know? I guess my opinion is and this
is probably totally wrong. Better thanthat. Yeah, no, and Kathy,
I'm one hundred percent with you.But the timing and the critical What
is going to happen here, Kathy, I think is the Republicans are going
(02:04:11):
to call this out and say thisis too little, too late. He
could have done this a year ago. He had all the power to do
this a long time ago. Butat the same time, as an American,
if you wanted the problem to besolved, at least something is being
done to solve the problem. Theproblem is, and the Republicans will call
him on this and have called himon this is this was done at this
time for a political stunt to beable to use this not just in the
debate coming up next week, butalso in November to say, hey,
(02:04:34):
no, Republicans did this. Ifixed the problem. The problem is he
started the problem. It's like settingyour house on fire and trying to put
it out with the garden host right, And if you are able to do
that, hey, look I solvedthe problem even though you were the one
that started the fire, you knowwhat I mean. So I think there's
both of those things can be true. I think, Kathy, Okay,
(02:04:55):
thanks so much for calling clarification.Yeah, no problem. We appreciate you
call. You want to call infour, two, five, five,
eight to eleven ten. We willbe back with more on the way.
I got a very interesting question inSNAFU for a professor in Wisconsin. I
want to get Scott Vorhees's thoughts, and we'll do that along with weather updates
coming up on news Radio eleven tenkfab em Reesung on news Radio eleven ten
(02:05:17):
kfab Scott Vorhees alongside Scott. Ihave a couple of questions for you.
First of all, you're a golfguy. A US Open this past week.
Bryson Deshambeau Wins talked a little bitabout this yesterday because in professional wrestling,
I'm a pro wrestling fan, there'sa thing called a face turn,
and a face turn is like whena guy's been a bad guy and then
(02:05:41):
they do something to redeem themselves andthey all of a sudden become a good
guy. Usually in real life, you can't become a face or a baby
face very quickly. It takes yearsand years of like regaining the trust of
the people in society. But bryceonto Shambeau, who won this thing over
the weekend. I was talking tomy wife and I got addicted to watching
the videos of him signing the autographs, high five in the kids, high
(02:06:03):
five in the people along the inbetween the holes, him talking to the
fans as he's pulling clubs out ofhis bag, the way he interacted with
the media after he won, evenduring the week before he won. This
was a guy that was about themost annoying athlete that I could think of,
not a year or two ago,and maybe one of my favorite people
(02:06:24):
in sports today. How did thishappen. He's always been one to kind
of pump up the crowd, usuallywith you know, big drives. He'll
take a line over water, overtrees that no one else has even thought
of, and then he'll be raisinghis arms, you know, kind of
like a batter it just hit aGrand Slam and getting the crowd pumped up
on stuff like that. But thenhe would go and have a bad round
(02:06:45):
and he come talk to the mediaand he complained about his manufacturer, he
complained about you know, he heardtwo flies whispering three counties away, you
know that kind He just would kindof act like a baby. And then
he joined liv Golf, which thecriticism was, these guys are all going
over there to take this money fromnefarious sources, and they're not going to
be hungry for competition. You lookat the way some of these big name
(02:07:08):
golfers, Dustin Johnson, for example, have not rejoined the competition with any
success in the last couple of years. They've been taking that easy money from
live Bryson. Deshambeau clearly is notmotivated by money. He has been right
there at these majors. He justwon the US Open, his second in
the PGA, right he was secondin the PGA. He was right there
(02:07:30):
the Masters. If I'm not mistaken, He's motivated by something more. He's
enjoying getting the crowd revved up.He's more mature in his responses, and
people are enjoyed watching him. He'sa showman. It's weird. It's weird
because I just remember thinking, likeI just he's a meathead. He's a
guy. I watched him dig adivot in the side of one of the
(02:07:54):
bunkers on some golf course mid roundand then be rated a cameraman for filming
him while it was happening, andsaying, we need to protect these guys
It's like, what do you meanprotect? Like we had the kit camera.
Guy's supposed to protect you, Andnow all of a sudden, I
was watching him, and he madesure every fan got a chance to touch
that trophy on Sunday. It's like, what happened to this guy? His
father also passed away in the fallof twenty twenty two, which kind of
(02:08:18):
also aligns with maybe the live thingand also the attitude change. But then
I found out he's got a YouTubechannel, and I watched a couple of
his YouTube videos and I immediately waslike, Okay, I totally get because
he's trying to be more personable tothe person watching this, and he's taking
lessons he's learned filming these YouTube videosevery week, and they're fun videos if
(02:08:39):
you like golf, I mean,it's good stuff. He goes with like
a celebrity or a golf Yeah, yeah, any of the like golf influencers
on social media, right, andthey try to break fifty. He like,
they go out and they which islike what twenty two to twenty three
hunder depending on where you're at,like try to try to shoot under fifty
in a scramble, which is prettycrazy. I watched a couple of them.
(02:09:01):
I was like, Okay, Iget it. Like he's been on
for these videos like on as wewould consider, you know, when you're
in show busy, it's be onfor the people. And maybe that's transformed
him or maybe a little maturity.I don't know, but it's a crazy
change. I've never felt differently abouta person so quickly that I have for
him, because he was the sameway on the PGA a couple of weeks
ago. I was like, whathappened to this guy? He's like,
(02:09:22):
I kind of like him, Ikind of want to see him do good.
All of a sudden, Yeah, this is a guy who when he
got on tour put on one ofthose old tam O Shanter hats, which
his idol Payne Stewart, fellow SMUguy, a guy who won on Father's
Day at this same golf course twentyfive years ago. Crazy is that beating
Phil Mickelson. That's Payne Stewart. Then four months later he died, and
so Payne Stewart was a fan favoriteand also someone who made a tremendous transformation.
(02:09:50):
Bryson got there with some of theability for golf. He hadn't got
there with the character transformation. PayneStewart was a jerk. He was,
you know, he was more dedicatedto going on hanging out with the guys
and using flippant comments and media interviewsand not being someone anyone else wanted to
really root for or play with. And he turned his life over to the
(02:10:11):
Lord. He kind of devoted afan following by doing something different in terms
of dressing and the NFL team ofwhichever team was closest to where the PGA
Tour was playing, he got intoit with the crowd in a good way
and just really had a much morecomfortable experience in his life. Bryson seems
to be moving in that direction,So one more step towards what his favorite
(02:10:33):
and one of the most popular playersto ever play the game, pay Stewart
did at the end of his career. That is a great point. And
the Pinehurst and the US Open, the twenty five years thing, that is
pretty wild stuff, especially when hehad a chance to talk about how much
pain meant to him as well.So yeah, I found that's fascinating.
I'm glad I had a chance totalk with you about it, because I
(02:10:54):
thought it was really cool, alsoreally quickly in sports, the Indiana Fever
on Sunday played the Chicago Sky That'sanother rematch between Caitlyn Clark and Angel Rees.
It's the most watched WNBA game intwenty three years. It was on
CBS two point two five million viewers. It reached a peak around three million
viewers. It's a two hundred andtwenty five percent increase of a game in
(02:11:16):
the same window a year ago.I just have to say this. I
told you this at at the beginningof the season. I told you this
when Caitlin Clark got tackled by KennedyCarter. I told you this. As
time goes on, rivalries breed success. And for all the people that said
she should have stayed in Aisle foranother year because she's turning a bunch of
money down or nobody's gonna care aboutthe WNBA after she gets started, the
(02:11:39):
fact that the highest rated game thatthey've played so far is now what essentially
is a mid season game for them, a month into their season, between
the same two girls who you know, one that generally is is playing the
foe or foyle to Caitlin Clark, and she did again smacked her upside the
head. It was I think itwasn't that big a deal, but a
(02:12:00):
lot of people make it a bigdeal. But that just adds the fuel
to the fire. So when Chicagoplays them again, which is coming up,
it's going to happen. They haveanother game coming up here in a
couple of weeks. I'm telling you, more people are gonna be interested in
watching it. And for anybody thatthought the WNBA would continue to remain irrelevant
just after a little bit of aburst of Kaitlin Clark interest, it's not
(02:12:20):
happening. More and more people arewatching these games of the season goes on,
and I for one, I'm reallyhappy to see that. It's such
an interesting variation of professional basketball versusthe incredibly boring NBA Finals that just wrapped
up. I don't know if you, well, as a Laker guy,
I'm sure you didn't pay any attentionto that. I'm just glad Jerry West
wasn't alive to see that. Yeah, but the WNBA, if you are
(02:12:43):
into basketball, more physical brand ofbasketball, even if they're not slam dunking
it on top of each other, there's a lot of interesting storylines and some
good skills great team basketball played inthe WNBA, and I'm enjoying the fact
that it's continuing to get viewership ina lot of success. Five point forty
seven. We'll wrap it up comingup News Radio eleven thin kfab. I
did want to throw this out here. I had quite an interesting experience.
(02:13:07):
I kind of last minute decided tobuy tickets to Saturday afternoon's College World Series
game, the first of the twogames on Saturday, and I bought them
within like thirty minutes of game time. I was kind of waiting for like
the right time to buy them andsee if I could catch them at a
very low price. Found some thatI thought were pretty affordable in a good
spot, and I bought them likethirty minutes before first pitch, and they
(02:13:28):
were never delivered. I never receivedthe tickets because it was through one of
those third party apps that they needthe person on the other end to officially
Okay, this person wants to buyyour tickets, please release them. They
have to physically release the tickets ontheir app for me to be able to
accept the tickets, Otherwise there'd beduplicate tickets everywhere. And I get that,
but I was disappointed to find outthat by game time, I did
(02:13:52):
not have that that the tickets didn'tnever arrive, so I did thankfully get
a refund from the app. Butit reminded me that waiting till the last
minute on anything, whether you're tryingto find the best you know, ticket
price, or whether or not youfeel like you work well under pressure,
which is what I always say whenI try to procrastinate something. It's like,
oh, I could definitely crank thisthing out in like a couple hours,
(02:14:13):
I just want to wait till thelast two hours to do that not
always the best idea. I wasvery lucky I missed the game. Obviously
I didn't get to go inside tothe game, but it was all right.
My wife and I enjoyed a greatday just running around on the grounds
of the College World Series, andthen we went to both of the games
on Sunday and had a lot offun there. So hopefully everybody who's at
(02:14:35):
the College World Series having a goodtime. If you missed the news and
you're wondering the night game, whichwas scheduled to start at six o'clock not
happening because of the end pending impendingrain that is coming, but when that
happens. Of course, that meanstomorrow there's three games scheduled. The game
from tonight Kentucky and Florida scheduled forten am tomorrow. Two pm is the
scheduled time between Tennessee and Florida State, who won earlier today, and then
(02:14:58):
the winner of that first game issupposed to play Tech A and M tomorrow
night. There is rain in theforecast. We're not sure exactly how it's
going to affect the games, butall three of those games are still scheduled
for tomorrow. There is an openday with nothing scheduled for Thursday. We'll
see if they have to move somethingto that day, but for the time
being, tomorrow is going to beone heck of a busy day down there
at the College World Series. Bigthanks to my buddy Scott Boarhies for sitting
(02:15:18):
in working with me today. Myname's Emery Songer. Stay locked in on
KFAB. We'll give you all theweather updates throughout the rest of the evening
on news Radio eleven ten KFAB.
