(00:00):
Who have we talked about each ofthe first two days this week, I
guess is the bigger question. Well, Joe Biden would be the best guest
there, you would be correct.Do you remember I told you about somebody
who lost their job because of aninterview with Biden? Remember that? Yeah,
it was a woman who worked ata Philadelphia African American radio station,
which I have to I want tomention that because this is hand picked by

(00:23):
the President. It's not like theyare reaching out to the White House asking
for an interview so they can,you know, have good journalism. No,
these are hand picked radio interviews andsome even handpicked television interviews. And
when the to be fair, thepresident came calling, we would answer,
wouldn't we? Yeah, I don'tknow who wouldn't correct? In the media

(00:45):
sphere is what I correct? No, for sure, the President says,
I want to be on your radioshow. You're going to take that very
seriously. Well, well, well, her name Andrea Lawfel Sanders. She's
not the only one who apparently hadthis happen. Now, she may have
been the only one that parted wayswith her company, her radio station in

(01:06):
Philadelphia, an African American run radiostation. Well, there was another African
American host of radio in Milwaukee,Wisconsin, and Wisconsin's another swing state.
His name's Earl Ingram, and hehas told ABC News and CNN over the
last few days that he was alsoprovided a list of questions in advance and
asked four of the five questions hewas asked, And he said, I

(01:26):
didn't get a chance to ask himall the things I wanted to ask.
He said, certainly, the factthey gave me this opportunity meant a lot
to me. To think that Iwas going to get an opportunity to ask
any question to the President of theUnited States, I think is a bit
more than anybody should expect. Saidhe didn't necessarily see anything wrong with the
practice of using the questions that hewas given. So I tell you this

(01:47):
is it weird for people in ourindustry to be given questions. It's kind
of weird. I don't get likeif I'm talking to somebody. I mean,
I know a lot of people whodon't necessarily like some of the people
that I've talked to. They mightI have, you know, an accus
of court, accusatory court. Letme try this again, an accusatory tone

(02:07):
about how I am attempting to speakwith these people. Uh, and the
questions that I do end up asking, But those are not questions that are
given to me, and they're notquestions that I think are like, I
asked questions that I think are importantto note and important to pay attention to.
Well, if the current president ofthe United States show Biden came and

(02:30):
they were like, Hey, wewant to target your show and your audience,
which would surprise me right Like,we would not fall in the same
line, the same caliber of lineas these very urban African American led radio
stations on African American led radio showsas part of a repairing of the image
of Joe Biden after the debate acouple weeks ago. We wouldn't fit into

(02:53):
that. Not that I would dismisstalking to the president, but I certainly
wouldn't be interested in just so offball tossing questions just for the opportunity to
speak with him, if that makessense. My second question, and Matt
you can answer this one. Ifit was Donald Trump that contacted these people
and said, we'll come on toyour show, but here's the questions that
we want you to ask. Whatdo you think do you think that they

(03:15):
would do the same thing. Doyou think that the same rhetoric you think
Earl Ingram would still say, Yes, it's still an honor to have the
opportunity to ask any question to thepresident, even if it's Donald Trump and
not Joe Biden. I wouldn't beshocked if that's how it's worked on Newsmax
in the past. But I thinkthat there's But my point is same with
news Max on the other side.If Biden called them and said, we'll

(03:37):
give you an exclusive interview, buthere are the questions you have to ask,
right, they're probably not responding thesame way. No, probably not
so right, So well you go, you know, hey, it looks
it makes sense that he chose interviewsthat they wanted to control and would be
and tried to maximize the friendliness ofthe friendliness of the environment after that debate

(03:59):
that he didn't look so good inso oh yeah, well, I mean,
and that's why they gave it afew days, you know, like
five or six days before they actuallywent and did some of these. And
I think they are phone interviews.I don't think he's in person with them.
So again, there's another level ofcontrol right, He's on a phone
line, and if things go alittle haywire, they could just accidentally hang
up the phone, you know whatI mean, Not that that happens that

(04:21):
much, and not that I'm accusingthat of happening. I'm just saying it's
pretty obvious that this is designed specificallyto repair his image with questions that he
is going to have the answers toalready. I have a television person that's
getting in hot water as well forsomething similar, and also an actor who
says, straight up, yeah, straight up, I think that Biden needs

(04:45):
to get out of the way.Who is it? Will tell you next?
News radio eleven ten kfab and where'ssonger on news radio eleven ten kfab?
ABC News? Do you know aguy who's ABC News? Well?
Who I know? Somebody who fallsunder that umbrella? Who's that? Stephen
A. Smith? Okay, notno, make it happen, no,

(05:05):
no. Who do you think wouldbe the most likely ABC News personality?
I want it to be Stephen A. Smith because I'll tell you why.
He would like not even let themanswer that. He would tell the question
and then he'd answer it himself, and then he'd give them a little bit
of time to talk and then he'dstart talking old. Well, I would

(05:25):
bet that if ABC News is doinga debate in September, as is currently
scheduled, I got by the nameof George Stephanopolis would probably be the guy
who would most likely be the moderatoror a moderator of two or three moderators,
right right, Well, according toTMZ yesterday, he said something because

(05:46):
remember he was also contacted by theBiden administration in the fallout of the debate,
and he did an interview last weekagain in a very friendly environment that
you know, helps Biden repair hisimage act the debate performance. If that
didn't already just qualify him from doingthat, well, here you go.
TMZ has a video a passer bywalks up. I don't know how they

(06:11):
get this video. It was like, hey, George Stephanopolis walking around in
New York City and somebody's like recordingand it says, hey, George,
do you think Joe Biden should sitdown? And then Stephanopolis says, I
don't think he can serve four moreyears, and that's it, right,
that's the video. But of courseyesterday it ended up going viral and ABC
News and Stephanopolis had to address it. ABC News released a statement and that

(06:32):
says George expressed his own point ofview, not the position of ABC News.
Stephanopoulos, in a statement said earliertoday, I responded to a question
from Passerby. I shouldn't have Nowthis is I will say this. George
Stefanopolis is in a different position thanI think those two radio show hosts are.
And I tell you why, himbeing potentially a moderator for a debate,

(06:56):
but also somebody who could somebody thatalso is we're led to believe is
telling us the news with no spin. Right, you watch ABC News,
you're hoping that you're not getting alot of spin in those like you watch
CNN, Fox News, NEWSMAX,MSNBC, you know one American network like
those, those those places, right, they are going to give you spin.

(07:18):
They want to tell you the newsfrom a specific angle, if that
makes sense. That's how they getratings. But you watch like Lester Holtz
and George Stephanopolis, and you knowold Dan rather stuff. I know he's
gotten very political since he's gotten outof the news, But they don't like
to have opinion or opinionated statements comeout because it in ways can damage their

(07:41):
reputation, is fair news sources. Now, I still think it's a little
bit of a sham that Biden gota pretty easy go of it when he
did that interview with George. Butalso I think that it is probably not
the smartest thing or the wisest thingfor somebody in Stephanopolis's position, especially considering
that he potentially could be a moderatorfor the next debate, for him to

(08:03):
be saying something like I don't thinkhe should serve four more years, or
I don't think he can serve fourmore years, And he didn't know he's
being recorded. He did not,He did not, so he kind of
just was just approached by somebody onthe street and this guy just asked him
appointed question and he just happened toanswer it. Honestly, he did.
But at the same time, yougot to remember he is representing a network
that is supposed to be a fairand down the middle network as far as

(08:26):
the debate in September is concerned, and that's why they had to distance themselves
from this, because they don't wantto lose the rights of that debate,
and he had to distance himself justin case he is supposed to be the
moderator. I don't know if youcan make him the moderator now, even
for saying something, as you know, seemingly harmless as that that a lot
of us are thinking, right,But that's the name of the game when

(08:46):
you're in his position, when you'rea local radio host and you're trying to
do your listeners as much of afavor as possible, when you're interviewing a
dignitary, I think it is importantto ask questions you think are important to
your constituents or your listenership, notnecessarily just whatever questions that the subject matter
wants you'd ask. I'm gonna havedeb Fisher on in like ten minutes.

(09:09):
You think she sent me any questions? I don't think so. The answer
is no, she did not.I have things that I'm going to ask
her about, and Biden obviously isgoing to be one of those topics,
and she's gonna have to answer thoseas I asked them, without any prior
preparation. Not like I expect itto be a grill session or anything,
but it's just something to talk about, you know what I mean. A
pretty important actor also called on JoeBiden to get out of the race.

(09:33):
George Clooney wrote an essay in TheNew York Times. George Clooney writing an
essay, What is it with theseletters and essays? Well, George Clooney
called on President Biden to step aside. He said this, it's devastating to
say it, but the Joe BidenI was with three weeks ago at the
fundraiser was not the Joe big effingdalBiden of twenty ten. He wasn't even

(09:54):
the Joe Biden of twenty twenty. He was the same man we all witnessed
at that debate. He wasn't eventhe Joe Biden of twenty twenty, indicating
I don't know, that's just interesting. How about that? Yeah? Was
he tired? Yes, A couldmaybe, But our party leaders need to
stop telling us that fifty one millionpeople didn't see what we just saw.
We're also terrified by the prospect ofa second Trump term that we've opted to

(10:16):
ignore every warning sign end quote. Here's another little bit I'll read real quick.
This is about age, nothing more, but also nothing that can be
reversed. We're not going to winin November with this president. Wow.
George Clooney, who has been astaunch supporter of the Democratic Party and helped
them with fundraisers for years, sayingpoint blank, boom bomb drop, Holy

(10:39):
molly uh, he needs to getout of the way. He didn't actually
come up with a backup plane there, but it's pretty interesting to hear some
of this infighting and some of thedissension within the Democratic Party about this.
We're going to talk to deb Fisher. Obviously she's not in the Democratic Party,
but we will talk to her aboutthis and some other things that are

(11:01):
going on in Washington, DC,and we will do that coming up next
So stick around on news radio eleventen KFAB. Em Reesung on news radio
