the Titans, the water Boy and.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
The Express, the Ernie Davis story. All right, with that
being said, let's open up the phone lines for it.
Four oh two, five, five, eight, eleven ten. The phone
lines are full. Let's start with another Matt, Matt, welcome
to the show today.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
What's on your mind?

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Hey, guys, Now you're still thunder on a couple of these.
But first one I'm gonna start with is Brian Song.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Oh, this a good one. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Then North Dallas forty American Underdog and Varsity Blues.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Varsity Blues is a good one too.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
American Underdog, I think is going to pop up on
a lot of lists because of the proximity of Kurt
Warner's story, right, it kind of begins in the Iowa,
like the ice side of the river. So yeah, that's
a good one. Matt, No problem at all. Thank you
for calling in.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Yep, thank you.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah, no problem.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
And if we like, if you're on the show and
you're giving your list, don't be afraid to re share
something that we've already had, you know, like, yeah, it's
fine to have new ones, but if you got a
Friday four and there are movies that are you know,
already mentioned.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
It's okay, it's okay.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
It's still okay to have those same movies on your
Mount Rushmore. Dave's on the line of four h two
five five eight eleven ten, Dave, what you got for me?

Speaker 5 (01:15):
Hey, go go big Red uh so line's gonna go
back aways. And that's a first date in high school.
We went to uh chet one driving to see Burt
Reynolds from the Longest Yard. Oh yeah, and we've been
married for forty five years.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Since it's your movie.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
After that Rudy Bryan's song, and then I got to
reach out for one and that's mister Dee's. I just
love when the punch about the obnoxious quarterback and then
you get the whooping from his dad for swearing.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
That's funny.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
It's like that's the only football related thing that happens
in that movie. But I guess I can't disqualify it
because he was a quarterback, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
So yeah, that's pretty that's a pretty good one, Dave,
Thanks for the call, man.

Speaker 6 (01:56):
Thank Bud.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Chris is on our phone line at four O two
five ivede eleven ten. Hello, Chris, what you got for me?

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Well, here's why it doesn't really fit, but.

Speaker 7 (02:06):
Gas it con huge hmm interesting, I think is the quarterback?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Okay, yeah, you're right, you're right. If we're counting mister Deeds,
that has to count, right, exactly right, Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 8 (02:19):
And then the program, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I saw okay, so this was uh, this was like
an early nineties movie. I actually I had to be honest,
I haven't seen the program all the way through. And
any think I gotta go find that thing.

Speaker 9 (02:31):
Oh and then uh, any Given Sunday, great movie, yep.

Speaker 10 (02:37):
And then.

Speaker 11 (02:39):
It's a tossup between the water Boy and the Replacements.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Well, you gotta have like it's a toss up. I mean,
one of them is gonna have to win.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Here.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
We only have four four spaces on the Mount Rushmore, Chris, I.

Speaker 11 (02:49):
Know, I got I gotta go with a Replacements.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Then okay, all right, all right, fair enough, I have
both of those movies.

Speaker 9 (02:55):
Adams Handler's had everything else. That's great solaces.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
A right, Chris, thank you for so much for the call. Yeah, yeah, okay,
any Given Sunday, we neither of us mentioned that one.
But any Given Sunday actually a really solid pick. There's
no doubt as far as uh a good movie goes.
You want to talk about a big cast Jamie Fox
and Al Pacino. Eric is on our phone line at
four O two five five, eight eleven ten. Eric, how's

(03:21):
it going today?

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (03:23):
I win the tickets?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Uh, let's see.

Speaker 11 (03:27):
No, sorry, all right, there's one for you win one
for the Gipper.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
That's an old one. Is that is that Reagan?

Speaker 11 (03:36):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yeah, that's what I thought. Reagan as an actor is
in that.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (03:42):
Yeah, they've got some terminal disease and given by.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
So you win one for the Gipper, Yeah, for sure.
Is that all you got for me? Eric?

Speaker 11 (03:51):
No, No, most of my other ones are burned up.
But here's another one.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Pro semi pro. Isn't that a isn't a basketball movie?

Speaker 11 (03:59):
Nope? Nick Milky and Mac Davis?

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Is that also an old one?

Speaker 11 (04:07):
D color? But it's pretty old, all right? Make Melfi
is a wide receiver and Mac Davis as a quarterback
and they're both trying to date the same yell and
I think it was Barbara streisand.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Huh well then I I yeah, okay, I'll uh, I'll
find this, I'll find this. There's a oh there's a
football movie called Semi Tough, Semi Tough. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
and that the yeah yeah. They got a lot of
ladies in their looks.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
This looks a.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
It looks a looks a little risky there, I might.
I'm gonna have to find this.

Speaker 11 (04:51):
Yeah, it's for adult I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Go find this. Uh you know, it was Jill Clayburg.
But her uh the uh Joel but her character was
named Barbara. Her character's name, his name was Barbara. All right,
I'm gonna have to look into that one. Eric, all right,
thank you so much for calling in man Ad Yeah
you too, GBR Yes, sir, Yeah, Reagan win one for

(05:15):
the Gipper. It's the lore of that was from Newt Rockney,
who used to be He was a longtime successful Notre
Dame head coach in the nineteen twenties or so, and
there was a story about a guy who is a
teammate of his and he had this legendary speech that
we can't actually nail down if it actually happened or not.

(05:37):
There's a lot of lore with it, but the idea
was that Newt Rockney basically told his team about the Gipper,
his former teammate and he's dying and he's like the
last thing he wants to in his life is to
watch Notre Dame win the big game. Know that Notre

(05:58):
Dame won the Big Game? When for me Newt and
he delivers this halftime speech and apparently you know there
was a movie made and Ronald Reagan started it.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Was you Gotta Love legend.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I just we're gonna have to go revisit and make
sure and see if that's like an accurate story. Eric
number two is on the phone line at four, two, five, five,
eight to eleven ten, Hey, Eric number two, what's up?

Speaker 7 (06:22):
They first go Big Grit, so Dozel Washington is just
a national hero. So remember the Titans has to be
my number one. It's just a phenomenal movie. Number two.
I'm a child of the eighties and the nineties, and
I remember when Free Agency in nineteen ninety three hit
and that was just a huge deal. So Jerry maguire
just hits totally home for me. It's funny, so many

(06:44):
lines from that movie didn't even realize.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
And Cruise is great in it.

Speaker 7 (06:48):
Oh dude, it's great cast. It's just unbelievable. Keep it good,
amazing Number three Invincible just Mark Wahlberg does a fabulous job.
Love that movie and the funniest football movie ever. We've
already talked about it, water Boy, Absolutely laugh every time
I see it.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Fantastic, no doubt, no doubt at all. Eric, that's it's
a great list. Thanks so much for calling in. You
bet if you want to give us your list of
your four favorite football movies, now is a good time
to do that. We're going to be taking these calls
all hour. As long as we keep getting them, you
can calling it four, two, five, five, eight to eleven
ten News Radio eleven ten kfab.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Emery, sunger On News Radio eleven ten kfab.

Speaker 12 (07:34):
Emery, Thank you very much for having me, big time
fan of yours.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
But thanks man.

Speaker 12 (07:38):
Well, I have to get one that I don't think
i've heard yet at number four. It's called The Best
of Times. Oh, Kurt Russell, Robin Williams. They're reliving their
glory days from high school to talk about a football
championship that happened in high school.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Okay, I have not heard of this one.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
I'm going to look into that because even though like
pictures look pretty interesting.

Speaker 12 (08:01):
Oh yeah, great movie, great movie. So number three Brian's song. Yep,
I am a lifelong Bears fan, so that has to
be in my time.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Yeah, same the Bears thing, the Bears connection. But it's
also a great story. It really is.

Speaker 12 (08:18):
It's a phenomenal story. So you just can't get around it.
Number three or number two. I'm sorry. I am forty.
So this is part of me growing up. So when
I was in high school, this was a great movie
for me. Varsity Blues, Oh yeah, speaks to my generation. Classic,
classic and number one. And if no one has this,

(08:38):
they don't have it at number one. I just don't
understand it. I get to the guy get a pyramid
scheme and then did stuff wrong.

Speaker 13 (08:44):
But Rudy Red when you think of football movies, that's
the very first one that should come to mind, bar none.

Speaker 12 (08:54):
I mean you should have monerable mentions and say, like,
you know, remember the Titans Invincible American Underdog is one
of those. Now with the Warner stories that Rudy has
to be your.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Number one, all right, Well that goes on too. I
mean Matt Cay said, Rudy on the list. I didn't
even have Rudy on the list, to be honest, Nate,
like I said, I think it's just a it's a
it's like a football version of Hoosier's, and I like
Whosier is better.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I guess I don't know so, but it's a it's
a good movie.

Speaker 12 (09:21):
It's good movie.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah, Like Hoosier's is my number one basketball movie for sure,
and the same guy's made Rudy, So I mean there's
merit to it. I just, you know, I feel like
it's a football version of the same thing.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Hey, Nate, this is good. Thanks for the call, buddy.
Always appreciate you.

Speaker 13 (09:35):
All right, thank you.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Jeremy is on our line four two, five, five, eight,
eleven ten. Hey Jeremy, what's up?

Speaker 14 (09:42):
Hey, thanks for taking my call. I got my favorite
quote of all time as attitude reflects leadership rum remember
the Titans excellent go to I gotta go with Rudy
as a second. Okay, Third, I'm picking Radio.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Cuba Gooding Junior. There you go, and.

Speaker 14 (10:03):
H Fourth, I gotta go gotta put shallow?

Speaker 3 (10:05):
How shallow? How wow? That's the first one. That's the
first time we've heard that.

Speaker 14 (10:11):
Well, just because Brett Barbus has got a little cameo.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Okay, I was like, did Jack Black actually throw a football.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
In that movie? Am I forgetting about that? Okay, it
makes sense a little.

Speaker 14 (10:22):
Bratt farm thrown a football once towards the end of
the movie.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Okay, shallow.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Hey, if that's criteria, then I'm gonna add a Wrangler's
commercial to the list.

Speaker 14 (10:32):
There, there you go, there you go.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Okay, Jeremy, thanks for the Yeah, thanks for the call.

Speaker 11 (10:38):
Man.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Roger's on the line of four of the two five, five, eight, eleven, ten.
Hey Roger, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (10:43):
Hey?

Speaker 13 (10:44):
How you doing?

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
What's on your list?

Speaker 5 (10:45):
Man?

Speaker 13 (10:46):
Well?

Speaker 11 (10:47):
First one, I guess it's Longest Yard.

Speaker 8 (10:50):
I kind of like, I kind of like the one
with Adam Chandler and the to remake. Okay, the second one,
I like the Little Giants.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yeah, that's uh my bag right there. I got into
like a little thing I had. I had an email
or email me about this and this was, uh who
was it?

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Kyle?

Speaker 2 (11:09):
And he said, is there a plot hole there that
the kid the two kids are falling for each other
while their parents are also falling for each other, and
if their parents were to get married, they would be
step siblings.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
I don't know if it's that weird, like it might
be a little weird, but it's kind of just I
don't know it works for the movie. I guess you
just have to watch it.

Speaker 11 (11:29):
So weird anyway.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Right, yeah, and well and on top of that, I mean,
isn't the Icebox probably swinging for girls by the time
she hits high school.

Speaker 9 (11:36):
Let's be honest, right, And then The water Boy Yeah,
and then I'm thinking of a TV show.

Speaker 13 (11:43):
Too, Okay, So the Coach.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah, so, uh, that's right. That was based on Hayden Fry,
wasn't it. It was like Hayden Fox O.

Speaker 11 (11:53):
No, he played in Minnesota.

Speaker 13 (11:55):
Coach.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Yeah, but his name IBox liked it.

Speaker 8 (11:59):
Did play the pine Pineapple Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
The Pineapple Ball, but coach his name's Hayden Fox though, right,
Like yeah, so right, you know, so I feel like
that was a little bit, you know, a play on
Hayden Fry's like his like the way he dressed and stuff.
But that I watched a couple of those episodes. I
actually like that as a show. I think I need
to go back and rewatch that thing.

Speaker 9 (12:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (12:20):
Well, Dick Van Dyke's brother was in it two and
he's he's really good.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yeah, And that was Craig t. Nelson, Right, Craig T.
Nelson was the uh the coach.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Here you go coach.

Speaker 10 (12:31):
Yeah, yeah, all.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Right, I'm gonnay. That's a hard one. Hey, buddy, thanks
for the call.

Speaker 7 (12:36):
A great one, all right.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
See all right, let's uh if you want, if you
got a Friday four we're talking football movies, maybe a
TV show or two, you can call us at four
oh two, five, five, eight, eleven ten, Week zero starting
tomorrow for college football, and we're getting in the mood
on news radio eleven ten kfab.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Emery Songer on news radio eleven ten kfab.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Do you know, is there any FCS games tomorrow? There are,
there are, There are actually quite a few. If you
want to watch McNee State play Tarlatan State, you can
two thirty pm on ESPN two, and North Alabama takes
on Southeast Missouri State. Simo, that's going to be a
six pm star time on ESPN. There you go. ABC

(13:22):
will have Florida A and M and Norfolk State as well.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
What in the world that's crazy?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Anyway, all right, there's a there's some games for you
tomorrow five point thirty nine.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Let's go ahead and get back to the phones.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Our football conversation is surrounding four football movies. You're moult
rushmore of movies for our Friday four that involve football,
and let's start with Laura. Laura's on our phone line. Laura,
thanks for the call.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (13:46):
Hello?

Speaker 10 (13:47):
First, I want to put out there that the movie
you were talking about with Ronald Reagan Win One for
the Gipper. Yeah, it's a it's called New Rockney All Americans.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
There you go, there you go, riding all American.

Speaker 10 (14:00):
Yeah, And I thought of another football couple of them.

Speaker 8 (14:04):
We are Marshall Good One, Marshall.

Speaker 10 (14:08):
McConnachie and The blind Side. I don't think anybody's.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Mentioned that, not that one might actually be the most awarded,
like the most popular, like as far as the critics
were concerned, The blind Side and both those very closely
followed the true stories of Marshall and Michael or so
those are good, right, And.

Speaker 10 (14:26):
It was kind of cool because we had real coaches
in the movie. Yeah, so that was kind of very cool.

Speaker 13 (14:32):
Well.

Speaker 10 (14:32):
Thanks, Hey, what is your email address?

Speaker 3 (14:35):
It is Emery E. M. E. R Y at kfa
B dot.

Speaker 10 (14:39):
Com, KFB dot com. Okay, yes, well thanks for kicking.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
As absolutely Laura anytime. Thanks for listening to us today.
All right, let's go to Gary. Gary's on our phone
line four O two five five eight eleven ten. Actually
that's Scott. My bad, Scott. You're Scott, not Gary. Hey, Scott,
what's up?

Speaker 9 (14:58):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (14:58):
How you doing?

Speaker 3 (14:59):
I'm good?

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Okay? Yeah, the last call, I had a good one
the blind side. Didn't know one brought up yet. I
also have one. I don't think it was brought up yet.
But my favorite would probably be Rudy, which has been
brought up. Number two replacements. I like football combined with
the chick click yeah. Number three the longest Yard. And

(15:20):
you got two of them to choose from. You got
with Burt Reynolds and Adam Sandler. Both are very good.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Which one do you like the best?

Speaker 6 (15:28):
I have to go with Burt Reynolds the first one?

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Yeah, me too. I like Sandler, but it's hard to
beat the original.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
And my fourth pick. And I don't know if anyone's
brought this up, because I haven't listened to your hole
shot today.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
But pet Detectives, Oh.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
Yeah, damn Marino at the end.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Yeah, there's a there's one nice little football cameo in
that movie.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Hey, Scott, that's funny. That's good. Last, thanks for listening
to us, and thanks for your call today.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
Okay, thank you, have a good day before.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
We go back to the phones. And which, by the way,
you can call and a four or two five, five,
eight eleven ten. You asked about a specific movie when
we were talking about this off the air. Remember which
movie you'd asked about if it was going to count?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Oh yes, Napoleon Dynamite.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
And I told you no, because there's not a true
real football scene. It's just Uncle Rico just thinking about football,
throwing footballs around for a tape and reminiscing about not
having a chance to, you know, win the state title
in nineteen eighty two.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Coach would have put me in. Yeah, I could throw
a pigskin a quartermin, throw it over the mountains over there.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
And then one of my favorite moments in the entire
movie is when he leans down, picks up Kip's steak
and hits Napoleon right in the face as he's Viking passed.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Oh like so I mean based on like throwing ace
Ventura Pet Detective and like some of the like Dazed
and Confused and some of these were football is just
a small part. I guess Napoleon Dynamite has to count
to Michael's on a phone line of four h two, five, five,
eight to eleven ten.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Michael, what do you got for me?

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (17:04):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Yes, sir?

Speaker 8 (17:06):
Oh so I have two movies. Both have the word giants,
and someone's already said little giant.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Yeah, that's one. That's my favorite personally, to be honest
with you, Michael.

Speaker 8 (17:14):
And my favorite scene is after the egregious penalty and
the rest riend's over and waves it up. No penalty,
no penalty.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Yeah, come on.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, well but that they did, I think what makes
that work so good or so well? I should say
Rick Moran is an Ed O'Neil is the brothers. I mean,
those two guys as actors are just awesome, and yeah
they they play the part so perfectly, the guy who
won the Heisman Trophy. I mean, heck, this is in
the middle, like right after Ed O'Neil had been you know,

(17:42):
Al Bundy and his four touchdown game at Polk Khai
being like this huge deal the entire time he was
doing married with children, and then Rick Moran is who
you know obviously noted for many different types of movies
and things, but he plays like the you know, scurrely
Little Brother. So well, it's an awesome movie. Anybody who
hasn't watched it, just go watch it. Do yourself a favor.

Speaker 8 (18:03):
It's incredible. And my other one is I don't know
if it said this one yet, but it's called Facing
the Giants.

Speaker 14 (18:09):
Okay, they.

Speaker 8 (18:12):
Yes, movie, but it is. It's it's absolutely incredible.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah. Yeah, I think I've actually seen that one. I
think we rented and watch it as a family now
that I think about it. I I don't want to
ruin it for anybody, but it does it start with
a pretty tragic thing at the beginning of the movie.

Speaker 8 (18:35):
A bunch of tragic things kind I'm like, happened throughout
the beginning.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Okay, all right, I think I know what you're talking about. Actually,
I just don't want to say anything specific in case
somebody's not watched it. But yeah, it's definitely got a
Christian themes to it, and I think I our family
ended up watching that one once or twice. Michael, thanks
for calling it and being a part of our show today.

Speaker 15 (18:53):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
All right, we're gonna run through.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
These last calls here when we come back your Friday
four four h two five five at eleven ten, we'll
get to the last calls next, and who knows, we
might give away a pair of tickets to something next
on news radio eleven ton kfab what's on your mind
with our Friday four of football movies?

Speaker 7 (19:10):
Emory.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
I love the show by the way, uh the two
football movies or Brian's song and North Dallas forty.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
North Dallas forty has come up a few times. I
have to rewatch that. It's been a while, but that's
good ones. Brandon, thanks so much for listening to our show.
We always appreciate you calling in.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Appreciate it every day.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Man, Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
It means a lot to us. Ron is on our
phone line at four O two five five eight eleven ten. Ron,
what you got for me?

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Wow?

Speaker 11 (19:35):
Same thing as he had, North Dallas forty. And the
other one I really like is uh Mash the football
scene in Mash.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
The match you know movie. Yeah, so that's the other
thing too.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
We have now opened up the gauntlet for anything that
had a football scene in it, and of course that's
probably about the most watched thing ever is Mashed so yeah,
I mean I'm hearing you on that one. Ron, thanks
thanks for dropping that in there. So yeah, Cody's on
our phone line. Cody, welcome to the show today. What
do you got?

Speaker 15 (20:07):
What's up? I got any given Sunday, I got the
Little Giants, i got all the right moves with Tom Cruise,
my boy Tom Cruise, all right, all right, and I've
got Johnny Utah Ohio State Buckeyes baby point break, uh
point break.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Of course, that's one we haven't had yet. All right, Cody,
thanks so much for dropping that in there, and you
have a good rest of your day too.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
All right.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
We got Brian on a phone line four two, five, five,
eight eleven ten. Brian, you're with Memory on news radio
eleven ten.

Speaker 13 (20:37):
Kfab Hey, I just have a couple. One is necessary
roughness at Scott Bakula and the best part was Kathy Ireland.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Yeah in the Ireland.

Speaker 13 (20:48):
Yeah yeah. And then the other one it's called Greater.
It's about that kid from Arkansas, Okay, yeah, and just
spectacular movies.

Speaker 15 (20:58):
So that's worth the watch.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
All right. I'll be checking that one out. I haven't
seen that one. Okay. Is that all you got for me? Brian?

Speaker 13 (21:04):
That's all I can think of right now.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
All right, you have a good weekend, man. John's on
the line. John, welcome to the show. What's on your mind?

Speaker 11 (21:12):
Hey, great show?

Speaker 8 (21:13):
Love listening.

Speaker 9 (21:13):
So your other callers stole my thunder with Brian's song
and North Dallas forty. However I have not heard water Boy.

Speaker 13 (21:23):
Yeah, and good one, the other great one.

Speaker 9 (21:26):
The other great one that we might be able to
lump in there. How about Forrest Gumps.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Now, see, now there's that actually serves a purpose in
that movie too. It's not just a random football scene.
He actually like his running ability. You have to know
how good a running he is. So he stars for
Bear Bryant as a kick returner all American. I wish
there was more football in the movie, to be honest
with you, John, Yeah, right on, all right, buddy, thanks

(21:54):
so much for the call. It's a good one. Uh Okay,
Now I just want to throw this out there. One
that was not said. I was actually pretty surprised that
was not said throughout and we had a real solid list.
Is there one that we haven't heard that that kind
of like, what do you think, Matt? Is there one

(22:16):
that you wish that somebody would have brought up there.
I have one that I can't believe. Nobody said, I'd have.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
To look over the list. Have you watched Draft Day?

Speaker 5 (22:27):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (22:27):
That was one I saw out there that I haven't
personally seen, but yeah, it's interesting.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Nobody said that.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
So it's Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner. It's got a
good cast to it, I'll be honest, and Dennis Leary
is the coach. It features the Browns. Roger Goodell's in
at the NFL gave them a ton of stuff. Right,
it's if you're like a football fan, it's actually horrible,

(22:53):
Like it's so unrealistic. Every single part of it is
completely unrealistic and absolutely insane. But if you take your
football realism glasses off, it actually is a pretty fun rewatch.
So when Draft Day comes on, watch it, but don't
critique it for the football stuff because it's really not
a realistic situation at all. Now, a lot of emails,

(23:17):
Sorry I didn't get to read those today, but I
did have one guy, TJ, that I had to let
shout out his All four of his were the Little Giants. So,
for whatever that's worth, I like where you're at, TJ.
If you're watching a little football this week and have
some fun. And if you're watching from football movies, enjoy
yourself as well. Have some good popcorn. We appreciate everybody
for listening to any part of the show. We appreciate

(23:39):
the discourse, even if some of it isn't always so positive,
and we're always really appreciative of the interaction we have.
It's one of the goals that I have with this show.
We don't bat a thousand on a lot of our stuff,
but we do the best that we can. We're only human,
after all. Before we let you go, though, I want
to reward you for being such great listeners to the show.
I'm going to give away two more tickets right now
to our special screening of Ray, which is taking place

(24:01):
next Thursday. We're celebrating one hundred years as a radio station,
and one of the ways that we're celebrating is next Thursday,
we're doing a screening at the Mad Majestic Marcus Theaters.
Marcus Majestic Theaters. I'm missing, I'm messing that up. I'm sorry,
but either way, you can win two tickets. Fortieth caller
right now, we'll give you two tickets to that screening
next Thursday. We'll give you all the details. Fortieth caller

(24:21):
