Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us to talk about that. On the phone line
is Megan Hale. Megan, thank you so much for being
a part of our show today.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Well, thanks so much for having me.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Okay, so let's talk about your background because you're based
in Omaha, you are from the area. But the reason
that we're talking today has something to do with something
you're about to start. I want to let you kind
of talk about your background and what we're looking to
see here in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Yeah. So, I am a former psychotherapist who is now
a fintech founder of a company called dream Money. We
are a strategic business planning software for women entrepreneurs to
really help them understand their numbers and margins and map
out sustainable revenue plans and also manage their cash flow
so they can financially thrive in their businesses. And we
are so excited to be launching our software for the
(00:47):
very first time on next Friday at the Dream Bigger Summit,
which is an annual conference. It's our first year where
we get to just gather an amazing group of women
entrepreneurs who are ready to create sustainable growth.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
One of the things that we talk about and I'll
let you kind of speak to this. I'm a guy,
and I'm also not an entrepreneur, but I do know
that there are a lot of challenges for entrepreneurs in general,
but especially for maybe some women entrepreneurs who are trying
to get kind of ahead and maybe not have initially
the same type of resources that some other people may have.
So why do you think it's really important to have
(01:23):
something like this to serve specifically women who are going
to be entrepreneurs in this area.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yeah, so when you look at the statistics of women
owned businesses, I mean, the numbers, don't they don't lie.
Women tend to earn less money than men entrepreneurs. About
twelve percent of women actually earn over one hundred k
per year, and dream Money is really out there to
help change these statistics. You know, a lot of people
start businesses without any business business background. I certainly did.
(01:49):
I was a form of psychotherapist and didn't know a
whole lot about business, but knew that I needed to
really learn the numbers piece of it if I was
going to be successful. And so we're so excited we've
developed this platform and this framework that makes money a
lot more manageable and less intimidating for women to really
help them learn the skills that they need to be
successful in business.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
We're speaking with Megan Hale, who's the CEO and founder
of dream Money that you mentioned the Dream Bigger Summit here.
One of the things that I you know, being in
media and you know, just kind of general communications, it
makes things a lot easier when you're able to see people,
meet people, build a network of people that you know
either have like minded interests or they kind of have
(02:30):
your back and their own experiences they can share with
you so you can be better at what you do.
How important is that and is that what you're trying
to achieve with this Dream Bigger Summit.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Absolutely? I mean your relationships, your connections, your network is
everything when it comes to entrepreneurship. So it can be
a very very lonely road where you're just in your office,
you know, building something from nothing, and so I think
it's incredibly important to be learning from other women who
have already created success and they can pass that with
them down to you. I also think it's incredibly essential
that we are surrounded by other women who are going
(03:00):
for big things, because we've all experienced failures. We've experienced setbacks,
we have experienced self doubt, and to be able to
share those stories and pour back into each other so
we don't feel so alone. I think it's so incredibly
necessary to have that vision of hope and possibility and
also see the models that are in front of you
of women who have overcome fake things and done it
(03:21):
because it makes it feel more possible for you too.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
That makes a lot of sense. I'm sure that there
are a lot of people that are wondering how they
can take part or learn more about what you guys
are doing. How can they find more information?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Yes, so if you want to join us for the
Dream Money at the Dream Bigger Summit, I'm sorry. If
we're launching dream Money at the Dream Bigger Summit, you
can head to dream Money dot Co. That's coo slash Summit.
We have two different tickets available. We have general admission
for two ninety seven and we have a VIP option
for seven ninety seven. It's also going to come with
a VIP bunch the next day with all of our speakers.
(03:53):
Both options are just an incredible way to get in
the room and really do some personal work for you,
your vision, your business, and your growth and.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
That networking opportunity, like we talked about, pretty priceless to
be able to do this as well. Last thing for you, Megan,
before I get you out of here, I know that
you got personal goals with dream Money as well. From
you know, your personal experience here in Omaha. How would
you feel you know, your experience has been as an
entrepreneur and in terms of how supportive this community is
(04:23):
from your vantage point with women entrepreneurs.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, so, you know, I've been fortunate to live in
many different places as a former active duty military spouse,
and Omaha is it's a gem of a city. We
have so many amazing networks and communities that are really
here to uplift women. And dream Money is just so
thrilled to be another asset that's really lifting our women entrepreneurs.
But I think Omaha is really special. You know. We
(04:47):
have a vision for helping Omaha have the most successful
women owned businesses per capita than any other city in
the US, and I really believe that we have the
resources to do it, and especially when we bring the
strategic business planning software, I feel like we're really startting
so many women.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Up to succeed well, I can tell you one thing
that this is certainly going to change the game for
a lot of young entrepreneurs that are women looking to
try to start their businesses from scratch. The Dream Bigger
Summit next Friday, and you can find more information at
dreammoney dot co slash Summit. Megan Hell, thank you so
much for being a part of our show. This is
(05:23):
such a great idea, and thank you so much for
being a part of our program today.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Thanks so much for having me.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Really cool. Love to see people that are going out
there and they're making their own things happen and helping
people like them looking to try to improve their own
life and our communities
