Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is such a cool spot.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Shout out to my friend Stacy Lenards her entire staff
for the Blurred Tailgate crew and the parties that they
can throw. And I mean this is a signature event
for them, but they also throw the best Husker tailgates.
And there's absolutely nothing that compares to being able to
spend the day at the College World Series here and
enjoying the beautiful day that we have been blessed with.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Here in Omaha.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Game one underway, Things getting interesting early top of the
fourth inning Coastal Carolina, Matt, can you remind the people
what they call themselves?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Believe it's the Chanta clears.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
The Chanta clears? Which is it's a teal?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Well, I don't know if a real Chanta clears teal,
but it's a chicken and they made theirs teal. I
can't decide. I mean, it's a great it's a great
mascot because of its uniqueness. I can't decide if it's
actually a great mascot. What do you think, Matt, Like
Chanta clear or game cock like like? Which one sounds

(01:06):
more menacing?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
I don't know. I think it's a fun mascot. The
chant to clear that it's a it's a unique word
and name, and I think a lot of people like it.
I think their mascot is a cool color to teal.
You don't see that a whole offense, So I think
it's a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, the teal part of it, I mean, there's no
doubt that the teal kind of makes it.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
It makes it even cooler than it is. And you're right,
just the sheer.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Uniqueness in the fact that there's no one else in
the country called the Shanta Clears makes it, I think
a pretty awesome and worthy mascot. So if you find
that Shanta clear wandering around, get a picture with it.
I'm sure that'd be cool. We got Game one. It's
two to one right now. Arizona coughed up a couple

(01:52):
of runs in the second inning. Hostal Carolina is the
home team, but in the top of the fourth, solo
home run by Arizona's the lead in half two to one,
and then like the next pitch, a double down the
right field line has Arizona with one out, a runner
on second base, and still working against the Coastal Carolina starters.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
So that's what we're looking at right now.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
At least tonight you got a match up between the Beavers.
The Beavers of Oregon State already seen some of their
fans bopping around.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
They're gonna be taking on the Louisville Cardinals.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Now, a lot of teams have all their fans here
celebrating the baseball.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
That's what we're here for.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
We're celebrating baseball and celebrating Omaha's playing baseball while trying
to crown a national champion at the collegiate level. With
that being said, I'm always kind of on the lookout
for which teams have maybe the best or maybe the
coolest fans, and in the process, LSU, I think overwhelmingly

(02:56):
is the favorite. We see them all the time up
here in Omaha, and they always bring a ton of people,
even more so than even can fit in the stadium at.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Charles swap Field.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
So they're doing everything that they possibly can to not
just be a presence here for the baseball team, but
to party in Omaha, and it definitely helps the community.
So I gotta be honest with you, they're the leaders
in the clubhouse. But I'm looking at some of the
teams that I haven't been able to see here since
I've moved to Omaha, the Oregon States, the coastal Carolina
is certainly we're going to see plenty of Arkansas fans.

(03:28):
And Matt, Matt, you're an Arkansas fan, You're going to
be repping some Razorbacks gear as you cheer. You're you know,
you're kind of a proxy sayers to Arkansas. I mean,
if there was a college that I think you represent
or represents you, I think you feel if it's not Nebraska,
you resonate with the Razorbacks.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Is that right?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Absolutely? I had a lot of I mean, I have
a lot of extended family who lives in Arkansas and
spent a lot of time there growing up, during the summer,
over Christmas. They've always been near and dear to me.
I root for them in every sport. I don't actually
have any gear that I that I wear around. I

(04:08):
I'm just not like a big gear guy, I guess
honestly if I'm thinking about it, but I'll be a
big fan of theirs, and I definitely will be rooting
for them every single game.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
If I buy you an Arkansas Razorbacks tank top, will
you wear it?

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Not a tank top? A T shirt? Yeah? I'm not
a tank top. Guy, I don't own a tank top,
to be honest, but if you yeah, get a T shirt,
you can get a polo shirt. I definitely would wear
that a hat I.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Love, Yeah, But but I I'm thinking tank top here
because it's unique and it'd.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Be good for a bit.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I'll hold it up to a lot of bit suns out,
guns out, Yeah, I hold it up for guns out
for yeah, why don't. Okay, So I'll buy you an
Arkansas tank top and then I will reciprocate that by
embarrassing myself by buying a Murray State tank top up
and uh, then we can take pictures and people can
you know, make fun of me for having really small
arms and shoulders, and uh, people are like, man, those guys,

(05:10):
those are Nebraska guys. Look at them in their tank
tops of the College World series.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
See, you got me too late into summer, and I've
already started to work on the T shirt tan. Only
time you're going.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
To see.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
That if you would have, if you would have led
with that, I would have. You know what, that makes sense?
I'm actually okay, you win if it was also now
that you mention it, I I got a problem going
on in that regard as well.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
That's a tough look. It's a tough look. I mean,
when you're in the pool and you got a T
shirt tan, people get it. But if you're out there
rocking the tank top with a T shirt tan, people
are looking at you like you're making weird life choices.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah, they'll ask where you came from.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
They'll ask what cave you're you're like crawled out of
and who who raised you to be? So I don't
know lack of days ago with your fashion choices. And
you know what, this is why we talk about these things.
We talked through these things. I would have just done it.
If I wouldn't have brought it up, I would have
just done it. And you'd have been like, Emory, I
got a T shirt Tan, I'm not putting this on.

(06:13):
I would have been like, you know what, that actually
makes a lot of sense. So good job, Matt. This
is why we talk these things out. You got to
talk it out any who. And I know there are news,
there's news day, it's crazy news in the Middle East, Iran, Israel,
the strikes you. It kind of took me by surprise.
Didn't expect it to escalate like that.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
So quickly. We will get to some of that. We
will talk about that.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
We will, of course remind you about our interview with
it's chief chat Schmatterer may even replay that for our
audience a little bit later on, just to remind you
of some of the stuff that is happening tomorrow down
here at the College World Series via protest and what
the chief told me yesterday in our conversation about what
he anticipates the with the place, the time, and what

(06:59):
the safety concerns may be for people. So be on
the lookout for that also, we're hoping. Okay, So, matt
do you remember when the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament was
at CCHI Health Center in March of twenty twenty four.
You remember the lofty goal that I had set for
myself for my four hour show that we did live
from the Hilton here.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
You wanted to interview one person as one fan from
every school that was there.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
That is correct, And I'm looking around in the tent here,
I'm not sure I'm even gonna have a chance to
get to all eight just based on the personnel. The
thing about the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is all those
teams play on the same day. Right, there are four
basketball games that are happening all day long in that arena.

(07:47):
There's only four teams with two games playing baseball today
and the other four teams are playing tomorrow. So I
don't think there's a huge contingent of fans from say,
Murray State. I'm not saying any UCLA fans to this point.
I see some LSU fans because they're crazy, but I
haven't really even seen an Arkansas fan yet. So I'm

(08:07):
going to be on the lookout. But my goal is
at least to try to find people from the four
teams playing today, and that's my goal.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
So we'll see if we can't do that.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
While touching on the news, letting you know about what's
happening tomorrow with the big military parade in DC, Donald
Trump's birthday, of course, two hundred and fiftieth birthday essentially
of the United States Army when the Continental Army was
formed back in seventeen seventy five, which, by the way,
go back and read the history of the United States
Army that revolutionary war. We had no business winning ladies

(08:36):
and gentlemen, absolutely none, but read about the leadership, read
about the way that they were able to make that
war last long enough to get the British to just say,
you know what, this isn't worth our time or our resources.
On top of that, we got to talk about baseball
and Omaha's place in baseball, and we'll be doing that
throughout the show. Easiest way to reach me today as
we have fun on a fun Friday, hit me up.

(08:57):
Got people email me about mascots and tank tops already,
which is exactly what I wanted for this show. Email
me Emory at KFAB dot com.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
It's e M.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
E R y at kf a B dot com. Will
love to talk to you via email today on the
news radio eleven ten KFA B.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Henry Songer on news Radio eleven ten.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
KFAB across the street from Charles schwab Field, or if
you see me in the ballpark village or you see
me in the ballpark, which is my plan to be
in there for the one pm game tomorrow which I'm
very excited for, which is Murray State against UCLA. I
get a chance to actually see Murray State in person,
which is really really cool. I'm I'm I'm kinda I'm

(09:44):
hesitant to talk about things that aren't going to put
spiles on people's faces. But I know that we have
a job to do and a duty to do that,
and it would be I can't I can't tell you
that I would feel good about just ignoring the big
news of the day, which is of course last night,
I guess yesterday evening.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
But this.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Attack that Israel had last night our time, and how
it happened, how it all came together. I'm with you
on like, I.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Understand what Israel is doing.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
I totally get it, But we, I think underestimate some
of the intelligence abilities of some of these countries. I
certainly know that Israel. I mean, they got a ton
of stuff, and Donald Trump you mentioned this, they have
a bunch of United States stuff that is high level technology.
But even last year when they kind of did a
small precise attack towards something within the Iranian border, that

(10:53):
was one of the things that I think most people
were like, okay, man, they really know where they're striking,
they know how to get in there, and they say,
basically every major military, top level person for Iran was
wiped out in this in this strike by Israel. Israel

(11:15):
of course looks at Iran as kind of the father figure,
for a lack of a better term, of these proxy
groups that have been terrorizing them and our other allies
in the Middle Eastern region that includes Tesbola up there
in Lebanon. You got Hamas, of course that have been
operating in what many are considering Palestine. You have, of course,

(11:37):
the Huthi's in Yemen. All you can trace back to
Iran being kind of the epicenter and the powerhouse in
the region that is dictating that.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
I told you a.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Month or so ago when Donald Trump was making his
rounds in the Middle East that when we agreed to
a six hundred billion dollar deal with Saudi Arabia and
one hundred and forty two billion of that went directly
into their defenses, I had to be honest with you.
I felt very very confident that was entirely set up to.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Try to deal with it on the United States.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Gay is giving Saudi Arabia kind of the keys to
being able to police that region themselves on behalf of
our side of things. Sounds crazy if you told somebody
twenty thirty years ago that we'd be working hand in
hand with Saudi Arabia to try to police the Middle
East they tell you what on earth happened, But a
lot has happened, a lot will continue to happen in
this region of the world. Donald Trump on his truth

(12:34):
social after these posts remade or after these attacks were made,
these strikes took place, this is what he said early
early this morning.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Quote.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
I gave it on chance after chance to make a deal.
I told them, in the strongest of words, to just
do it. But no matter how hard they tried, no
matter how close they got, they just couldn't get it done.
Now again, if you're missing the context here, Donald Trump
is talking about the new clear deal that he's attempting
to make with Iran, and by nuclear deal, essentially selling

(13:05):
Iran you cannot have a nuclear weapon, stand down on
your nuclear operations, stop developing nuclear arms.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
And we have been hearing again for well over twenty
years that. I mean, gosh, you can go back to
the early nineties on this, that Iran is close to
having a nuclear weapon.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
It just kept happening.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
But something in the Israeli intelligence said, they are actually
way closer now than they have ever been to completing
a nuclear weapon, and we have to take preemptive action
here to try to prevent that from taking place, because
them having a nuclear weapon puts us directly in danger.
Makes sense. So back to Donald Trump's true social posts.

(13:44):
I told them it would be much worse than anything
they know anticipated or were told. That the United States
makes the best and most lethal, most lethal military equipment
anywhere in the world by far, and that Israel has
a lot of it, with much more to come, and
they know how to use it. Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely,
but they didn't know what was about to happen. They

(14:05):
are all dead now and it will only get worse.
There's already been great death now, and they were only sorry.
There's already been great death and destruction. But there is
still time to make this slaughter with the next already
playing the texts even more brutal to come to an end.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Now.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
He goes on and says, Ron must make a deal
before there's nothing left and save what was once known
as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction.
Just do it before it is too late. God bless
you all.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
I mean, if we're talking about this from a very
practical standpoint, from Donald Trump's perspective, and there were some
reports that came out last night from Fox that said
Donald Trump kind of told Israel not to do this,
And I don't know if I believe that he certainly
knew something like this was happening, he knew that this
was going to take place a couple I mean, maybe
not even an hour later. On True Social he jumped

(14:56):
on and said, two months ago, I gave Iron a
sixty day ultimatum to make a deal. They should have
done it. Today is day sixty one. I told them
what to do, but they couldn't get there. Now they
have perhaps the second chance. Now I don't know what
the second chance is. We've been hearing all day through
different avenues and different news sources that they're hearing that
Iran is attempting to have another counter strike, even though

(15:18):
what we are aware of is Israel is prepared, they
have high intelligence, they have countered anything that seems to
be heading their way, at least for the time being.
Makes you really wonder on a couple of different levels
about what the action is going to be from Iran
on that front. Because they say they said America and

(15:40):
Israel will pay. I don't know what we have to
do with this directly but of course they're going to
say that, try to make us quake in our boots.
But I don't know if our administration is really down
to being talked about like that or talked to like that.
And Trump has recently said to Axios that the attack
that Israel had could actually help get them to a deal.

(16:01):
I don't know if Ron sees it that way, but
that's what Donald Trump is saying, and I guess.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
We will have to see. Time will tell.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
But that being said, I'm not gonna harp on this
too much today. It's a Friday, it's fun. College World
Series is happening. But if anything new breaks, we will
let you know about that each and every time I
see something come across my ticker here while I sit
at this blur of instint down there in downtown Omaha,
across the street from the College World Series, right in
front of the Downtown Hilton, which is basically my second home.

(16:30):
I lived here for five weeks when I first moved
to Omaha. Allowed me a chance to kind of get
my bearings about myself with my new job in my
new city. I'm so grateful to be down here once
again and broadcasting and we will have plenty of fun
guests to talk to throughout the rest of the show.
Like I said, I'm gonna try to talk to at
least a fan from each of the four teams that
are playing today. We'll see exactly how that goes, and

(16:52):
hopefully have another few special guests and we will do
all of that coming up. So stick with me to
twenty seven now the time on Friday you're listening to
me Emory song'er live on news radio eleven ten kfab
Ord High School, Central Nebraska, population two thousand, are called
the Shanta Clears.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Are they really? I didn't know this? Did you know this?

Speaker 3 (17:15):
I didn't know that either. For some reason, I had
it in my head that they were the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
The Ord Cowboys. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
I don't know where I got that, but I I'll.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Do some ricon.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
I had two different people send me an email that
said that, so they can't be lying to me. But
maybe it's a recent change. Who knows, But that's interesting.
Or Nebraska shout out Shanta Clears.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Yeah, I'm seeing it right here. I just googled it.
They are the Shanta Clears.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Wow, there we go.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Okay, so Coastal Carolina not the only Shanta clears out there.
I got quite the rooster in front of me here.
His name is McCray, Moshka. He is with Blur Events.
I'm sure I'm the first guy that ever told you that.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Is that right? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:58):
McRae. So we got we chatted last year here. It's
a fun event. This is a different feel in here though,
because now we have a permanent space with the Cast
Street Green that officially opened a couple of weeks ago.
Take me through because everybody who comes by here they
see this giant white tent right and then you see
like all of your guys and stuff with the TVs

(18:20):
and all the branding that you have everywhere. What kind
of work goes into putting this thing together every single year.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
So it's a pretty long process.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
Like you said, this year, the Hilton actually installed a
brand new turf green space right in front of the
hotel here. So we Blur Events out of Lincoln. We
move up here around Memorial Day three weeks out. Okay,
tank goes up and then we bring in trailers full
of all of our equipment, hauling pretty much our whole

(18:50):
entire shop from Lincoln to Omaha. So TV Speakers, Trusts
Games couches, tables, chairs, all we can fit into a
five trucks and we're up here.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
This is the same stuff I see at the tailgates
and Lincoln.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Yes, very similar, except Lincoln's under a bridge. So I
would say Tailgate Field, this is more of our Omaha tailgate.
Here is very more luxurious and high end, but very similar.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
It feels so great. Everybody's in here, They're having a
great time. It's the College World Series. You guys are
you know? You're busting your humps around here. I see
you running all around. You were on door duty when
I got in here for people who are just like okay,
So what's the big deal about these blur events, these
blurred tailgates.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
I keep hearing Emory talking about on.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
The radio every afternoon about I can't wait for the
blurred tailgate at the Husker game, can't wait for the
blur party at the College World Series. Why is this
such a special place for people when they come and
try to enjoy the CWS.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
I would say a lot of the bars close to
the stadium they mostly do covers or live entertainment such
as that. We're different, unique as in we do more
of an all inclusive ticket option, so all of our
tickets will include lunch buffet, dinner buffet. And then the

(20:08):
lowest ticket level is a non alcoholic so that includes
your food, soda, water, all that. Next step up is
a beer and wine package, and then we go all
the way up to the top all bar, beer, wine, liquor,
mixed drinks all included. So everything's got the lunch included.
It's just all kind of like a Mexico type of

(20:29):
feel where it's all all inclusive all day long, ten
thirty to midnight.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
And literally you feel like you're in a resort.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
You're here in front of the Hilton, which is already
like one of the nice hotels I've ever seen in
my life. Just sitting right here, you're out in front
of that, and then you have this just incredible all
inclusive feel.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
You pay one price at the door.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
You don't have to worry about getting that wallet out
and leaving tips all the time. I mean you can
still tip, you should tip your servers and whatnot, but
you don't have to get you know, the money out
every single time that you're going in ordering something, and
you can be taken care of it as long as
you can and there's no time limit, right You guys
close at the end of the day. But if I
came down here tomorrow at like noon and then I
wanted to stay after the last game ends, I mean,

(21:08):
you're not going to kick me out before that, right, correct?

Speaker 4 (21:10):
So ten thirty am to midnight every day, you get
your wristband, you can walk out, head to a game,
come on back, and see.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Us all the way up until midnight every day.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
So it's so cool.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
McCray, Moshka is here, he's with Blur Events. We are
in the Blur Events tent. Can I ask a personal question?

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Sure? How do you get into this industry?

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Growing up in college? I guess I got into sports marketing.
I spent a couple of years in college interning at
the Nebraska Athletic Marketing Internship and did some time, did
a summer for the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Actually, what, so, are you a Bears fan?

Speaker 3 (21:47):
I am a Bears fan?

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Oh my, okay, bear down all right, So McCray and
I are going to have to talk about some other
stuff at some point, but okay, anyway, Chicago Bears.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Yeah, but yees.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
So I kind of got into that and after I
graduated college. I found out about Blur and what they do,
so I wanted to connect sports with a party esque feel.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
And would you call this hospitality hospitality?

Speaker 4 (22:09):
A lot of hospitality, hospitality management, dealing with people, a
lot of people, entertaining, entertaining everyone.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
So that's the big deal. I love it. I love
doing this job.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
We do Husker football tailgates, we do College World Series,
and then we also do an event called sip Nebraska
twice a year, a wineries, breweries, and distilleries event, just
inviting them so people can get products from way over
across Nebraska. It's all local, all Nebraska product.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
I was there, I saw you there. What an aspa bit.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
I mean, I could spend twenty minutes salging to you
just about that. It's like the introduction of some other
Nebraska places that all of a sudden, now I'm exposed
to and I had a chance to buy their product,
and I otherwise wouldn't even know that they were local.
I mean, it's such a great way to kind of
help local businesses while also just having a great party,
because that's what we do with Blur events. As you
just party. M craig is with us, as we sit

(23:01):
here this is I can tell people there are TVs
in here. I can tell people that you can pay
one price and get drinks all night, right, But there's
something about that hot tub that's sitting down there on
the end that is something that I just have to
tell people about it. It's like, do you know under
that tent that there's a hot tub, but it's not
a hot tub, it's a cold tub. Explain the concept

(23:23):
here and why there is a hot tub on one
end of this place.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
I mean, you said it best earlier. This is a resort.
Feel pay one price, all inclusive. But with that, we
do have a cold tub. That's one of our largest
attractions to this event. So when it's blazing hot ninety
hundred degrees out, we have a cold tub here that
we put some ice into, cool you down, stick your toes.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
In, and then just enjoy it. Sit back and relax
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
And if you're wondering, yes they got the towels, you
don't have to worry about having wet feet all day,
like you can, you know. I mean, all right, here's
my personal confession here. I came here last year on
a day I didn't have to work, and I found
a spot in the cool tub.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
It was like ninety five out.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Here, and I decided that that was my spot for
the day and I watched it was the Finals week
and I sat there. I watched the entire baseball game
with my feet up to my knees in cold water,
and I was like, man, this is the this is
the light. This is the way that people. Man was
supposed to live like that. And then I just, you know,

(24:24):
like I could wipe my feet off.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
I go the bathroom or whatever.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
It's amazing, amazing stuff that you guys, you know who
thinks of these things?

Speaker 1 (24:31):
I mean, is this you Like? You guys sit in
like a in an office and you're.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Just like, you know what would be awesome just filling
a hot tub full of ice and letting people cool down.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
On a hot day inside our tent.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
I always think every year, how can we make this better?
So this year we actually added a table over the
top of it so you can say your drink down, yeah,
just enjoy it. Sit right in front of the TVs all
day and just we have corn hole, we have ring toss,
all these games just to keep you entertaining throughout the day,
as well as connect team with your friends, family, coworkers.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
You're a hospitality guy, McCrae. But are you attached to
any team or any group of fans. Because we got
like the Murray States and coastal Carolinas of the world.
We usually don't see small schools, but you got the
big guns like LSU and Arkansas, which you're gonna be
seeing a ton of those fans all week. Is there
a fan base or a team that you're kind of
like your heart's pulling for a little bit this week?

Speaker 4 (25:25):
I would say, well, since the Nebraska corn Hushers didn't
quite make it here, if you come on over to
our tailgate, you'll see a big tiger right outside of
our tailgate. It is actually the Marti Gras Mike LSU tiger.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
That's a size to the tent. I think he is
roughly thirteen fourteen feet tall.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Okay, yeah, so he's pretty hard to miss. But yeah,
big old tiger right outside the tailgate. You can't miss it.
So just because of that, I'm gonna I'm gonna cheer
on the LSU Tigers a little bit this week.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
That makes sense, actually, you know, like that's a that's
a smart answer. Not just because they will have I
think the most people here. But also it's an impressive
specimen that you have out here. And pickup truck. Did
that truck take it down here?

Speaker 1 (26:10):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Like?

Speaker 1 (26:10):
How a guy here all the way?

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (26:12):
All the way all the way from Louisiana. So they
actually did some stops at different Kansas City chiefs, took
some pictures along the way, but they had a heck
of a road trip coming up to Oma.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
But they made it here.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
That is amazing.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
So will it be here all the time the whole
time or are they gonna move it around?

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (26:29):
So actually we have some LSU large ls LSU crowd
coming in tomorrow, so they're gonna have it here tonight
and tomorrow and then they're gonna drive it around town
a little bit and probably bring it back bring it
back a little later.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
But yeah, so if you want to see this, you
gotta come check it out tomorrow. But Craig Mashka, you
guys are awesome. Thanks for having us down here at
the Blur tailgate tent in front of the Hilton across
the street from the College World Series. And you're just
I mean, like I just I can't get enough of
Every year it just feels like you guys do do more,
more and bigger things down here.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
It's incredible what you guys got going on.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
So, actually I have one more thing to say. You
mentioned the or chann of Clears. Oh yeah, I grew
up in Arcadie, Nebraska, twenty minutes from Ord So okay,
so wait against them all the time, Katie Loop City
Rebels yep.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Okay, So you're the rebels, yes, and they're the Chanta Clears.
Yes is it? They're not teal though, right, red white
and black color? All right? So, and that's where Coastal
kind of makes their money. I think the teal chicken.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
That makes no sense, right, Okay, So I appreciate that, McCray.
Thanks for thanks for the fact checking. There, have some
fun today. We'll talk to you or Stacy hopefully a
little bit later on in the show for a drivetime audience.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
But you're awesome. Really appreciate you coming.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
By hereful, thank you for having me all right, McCray, Mashka,
he is the man, the myth, the legend here with
Blur Events and we will be down here broadcasting until
six pm. Thank you so much for listening. Have some
fun with us on a Friday on news radio eleven
ten KFA.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
B Emery Sunger on news radio eleven ten KFAB.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
Peaceful protests are scheduled for tomorrow, a couple of them,
at least one that's immigration enforcement related. One that is
the no Kings Date thing that is kind of up
against around the country in opposition to Donald Trump's military
parade in his birthday and the two hundred and fiftieth
Army Birthday down there in Washington, d C. All that,

(28:20):
you know, being said, right, we're gonna replay my interview.
I think it's really important information I did yesterday with
Chief of Police in Omaha, Todd Schmaderer, just till everybody
has as much information as possible about this stuff. So
we'll get to that at the top of the three
o'clock hour. I'm here from the blur Ofvins Tent, the
Big White Tent here down here in downtown Omaha. Matt

(28:41):
Case is back in our Dundee studio, and Matt, we're
learning about your fandom of Arkansas. And I've been told
you need a hog hat by Brian like the razorback.
Have you seen those?

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Oh? Sure, yeah, the foam hat, right.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Yeah, very common in the stands at Arkansas game. Woo
pig Suey.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Yeah, woo big Suey.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
And then Brian also mentioned Nebraska likes Arkansas as Dave
van Horne was the coach in Nebraska before he left
for Arkansas, right yep. So yeah, I didn't know that either.
I didn't know that Dave n I know Da van
Horne from his Arkansas days, but didn't know that he
was a Nebraska coach.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
So he was, and he was the last coach to
get the Huskers to the CWS.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
That was like what twenty two years ago.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Yeah, it's been over twenty years since we've had a
local team in the tourney if I remember correctly.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
And then I remember I saw some highlights of Creighton
back in the nineties playing in the in Rosenblatt, Which
could you imagine nowadays with all the like the advances
that we've made in first of all television coverage but
also just in general across the board, like this is
a I mean, I think things would break, like people's

(29:52):
brains would break, not real legitimate things, but like if
Nebraska and or Creighton ever got to play here, and
I'll throw you and o omaha here if they go
on to Cinderella Run and are able to make it
here to the College World Series, I'd be super super
sweet too. But man, if Nebraska was here, just seeing
how people came out for the Big Ten Tournament, I mean,

(30:12):
it would be insane down here if the Huskers were playing.
So yeah, it's to me that's a pretty Uh dude, what.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Do you think, like over under five years before it happens.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
I just don't know. I think about it every single year,
and you know, it seems like every single year at
least one of the teams has positioned themselves in a
super regional Uh. Just you know it's gonna happen. It's
going to I'm the law of averages, right, it's gonna happen.
It's not gonna be there.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
It is is like three hundred and thirty teams.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
But again, if they keep playing, I mean, hey, baseball
is in no risk of all of a sudden disbanding
as a sport. They'll keep playing. So as long as
they keep playing, one of our local teams is gonna
get back in there. It's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Okay, that's an interesting, Uh, it's an interesting situation that
you got there. Uh, I don't know if I co
signed that theory, but something keep in mind, like.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
You don't, you don't co sign the idea that it
will happen eventually if baseball is still played for like
hundreds of years.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I mean eventually, I mean, I mean it's plausible. I
just I think that there's I think there's a if
we have to wait for all the teams to get
a turn, it's going to take a while. Let's just
you know, call it what it is. But I would
say I be optimism. Oh yeah, I mean I don't know.
It's it's a deeper conversation for more time, for sure.
But I would think that Nebraska and Creighton are historically

(31:36):
in a better position than many of the other a
couple hundred teams that you could potentially pause it as
an example of why it's possible to happen for them
quicker than others.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Yeah, is there.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Really I mean hundred some in college baseball. I mean
it's a warm other sport.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Not the D one level. It's like two seventy or
something like that. But either way, it's gonna be a
lot of fun while are here.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Yeah, we're going to talk about this we'll play our
Chief Spodderer interview coming up at the top of the
three also, so stick around for that here on News
