Speaker 1 (00:00):
Man, there's a lot that we can dig into and discuss. Thankfully,
none of it is like breaking brand spanking new news,
you know what. I've been kind of like frustrated by
the fact that every single day, almost over the last
few weeks, i've sat down, there's been some earth shattering

(00:23):
discussion or topic or shooting or death or attack or
plot that we've had to just unfurl. And while I
am here to do that, I am also also really

(00:43):
excited to just kind of break down some things and
get more information about things and talk about things a
variety of topics that we can get to and feel
like it's relevant, and that's what we're gonna do. So
the first thing is we have additional information about ice
operations and in around the Dallas area and this particular

(01:10):
shooting that took place where people died, I mean the
shooter died, but it's killed a detainee and it injured
a couple of others. And there was a lot of
discussion early on yesterday morning about who exactly the shooter
was and who he was actually after, because what kind

(01:34):
of maniac is just going to fire I mean fire
a gun in this way at all? Anyway but what
kind of maniac is going to do it and fire indiscriminately,
as they said in the report, just expecting that the
damage that he was hoping to do was going to

(01:55):
be inflicted the twenty nine year old and what they're
telling now. According to FBI Director Cash Battel that he
put on his x account, FBI Dallas and FBI Headquarters
have been working twenty four to seven to seize devices,
exploit data, and process writings obtained on location and in

(02:15):
the subject's person, residents and bedroom. One of the handwritten
nose recovered read hopefully this will give ICE agents real
terror to think, is there a sniper with AP rounds
on that roof? AP standing for armor piercing. Also, he
mentioned that I'll just continue to read what he had here.

(02:37):
He said he conducted multiple searches of ballistic and Charlie
Kirk shot video, which in and of itself is quite disturbing.
That was between September twenty third and twenty fourth. Between
August nineteenth and August twenty fourth, he searched apps that
tracked the presence of ICE agents. He also said that

(03:00):
the shooter downloaded a document titled Dallas County Office of
Homeland Security and Emergency Management containing a list of Department
of Homeland Security facilities. Further accumulated evidence to this point
indicates a high degree of pre attack planning. Now again,
this person killed themselves on top of the roof after
shooting down at people. Of course, we did see the

(03:23):
round that said anti ICE on it, which I know
a lot of people are like, look, du that means
he's anti ICE. You know, that's just not enough for me.
These days, you just never know what people are up
to and what they're doing. Searches like this, the writings,
the musings here talking about whether like searching ballistics and

(03:48):
the Charlie Kirkshot video and also essentially writing down things
like hopefully this gives ICE agents real terror to think
is there a sniper with armor piercing rounds on that roof?
That pretty clear indicator as to what exactly is going
on here. Now, whether or not there's a lesson to

(04:13):
be learned yet, I'm not sure. This is the newest
information that we have. And in just a little bit
I'll have a reporter on to talk about what he
knows and what he's learned. But it also leads to
a lot of speculation of what drove this person to

(04:36):
do this twenty nine year old person still need to
know exactly how and who's gun this was very well
could have just been his gun, that's the easiest answer.
And if he didn't have a laundry list of criminal history,
then there's a good chance that, you know, there was
no reason not to sell him the firearm in which
he used to do this. But let's just say that's

(04:57):
not very controversial. Who knows this guy, who works with
this person, who would have been around this person to
think that this person did this, drove down to Dallas
and he's living in Oklahoma, drove down to Dallas and
wanted to do this crime, basically just willing to end

(05:22):
his own life to shoot at ice agents. Certainly a
mentally disturbed person, and beyond just being mentally disturbed, had
written down things of I wonder if this is going
to really disturb ice, give them real terror, Like who

(05:43):
even writes that? So beyond that conversation, I just want
to know who was around this guy and was there
something they picked up that was like, Okay, this guy
might actually be the person type of person that might
actually do something like this. Yes to me. I just

(06:04):
I can never put myself in the shoes of somebody
who does something like this, because I've never once felt like, yeah,
you know what's gonna make life better me committing a
violent act on someone. I've gotten mad before. I've been
mad at certain people before. I've been mad at neighbors before,
I've been mad at my family before, been mad at

(06:26):
myself before. Never one time was I like, oh, yeah,
you know, what makes a lot of sense me deciding
to do something insanely reckless with a firearm. And I've
shot guns before, you know, mostly for trap shooting, but
you know, there's got to be something that's broken in
the brain of a person that that's the first thing

(06:47):
that they do is they just reach for a gun
and they decide that they're just going to shoot people.
I want to know who's around this guy. So hopefully
we learned that we're always looking for more information, and
a little bit early today I had a chance to
talk on the phone with a reporter from Fox News Radio,
Evan Brown, who's covering the investigation into the shooting at

(07:07):
the ice facility in Dallas. Evan, first and foremost, thank
you so much for being a part of our show today.
Good to be with you. Well, let's go with kind
of the information that we have, because as this as
my show was going on yesterday, we had very minimal
information other than they weren't really clarifying who was shot.
They just said no law enforcement was injured. Now we

(07:28):
have the identity of the shooter. We also have a
possible motive or who they were actually shooting for. What's
the latest of the information that we know twenty four
hours later, Well, we don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Much more than what you've just recounted. The biggest piece
of evidence that had been released have been that photograph
of a clip of ammunition in which one of the
bookcasings had sprawled on it anti ice. So the belief
has been that this person had a problem with immigration

(08:02):
and customs enforcement and was looking to target them in
some way. There is some new information now that we're
getting here at Fox News that the suspect, who is
now dead by the way of his own doing, downloaded
a document entitled the Dallas County Office of Homeland Security
and Emergency Management, which contained a list of DHS facilities

(08:23):
and conducted a lot of searches on the ballistic evidence
or ballistic analysis of the Charlie Kirk shot video. He
did that just a couple of days ago apparently, and
also searched apps that were tracking the presence of ICE agents.
There has been a handwritten note now recovered that says,
hopefully this will give ICE agents real terror to think

(08:47):
that there could be a sniper with rounds on the roof.
So this evidence that we're now getting to hear about
indicates that there was some degree of planning of this
attack and that ICED itself was the was the intended target.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah, I saw at least social media discourse, and I
know that that's not everything. But if the you know,
scrawlings on a single shellcasing is the you know, lone
piece of evidence, a lot of people are saying, oh,
anybody could have just made that up or done that
or whatever. And I know that yesterday during my show

(09:25):
there were people on both sides basically pointing fingers at
each other. Because everything's political in this country. As far
as ICE and its operations go, it has really been.
You know, there's been a lot of things that have
been with a high temperature politically in the last several years,
but especially this year after Donald Trump was elected. But

(09:45):
I think what ICE's operations have been throughout the country
have been really at the top of the list, and
people just rebelling against them. Is this from you know,
your vantage point, a product of the continued conversation of
ICE being some sort of kind of representation of the

(10:05):
political right. Or is this another looney person who really
probably was going to end up committing violence one way
or the other on someone regardless with a firearm, based
solely on the fact that they thought this was the
right thing to do for some reason in Dallas.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Well, anything I would say here would be speculative, but
you are trying to frame this as one or the other,
as opposed to thinking that it could be both. I mean,
he could have had some beef with ICE and still
was psychopathic enough where he thinks it's okay to do

(10:44):
something like this. Both need to You can dislike ICE,
you can even hate ICE and immigration enforcement, you can
have very strong feelings that way, but you're still not
necessarily motivated to go commit violence. Something else has to happen,
or something else has to be in your head to

(11:06):
be able to, you know, to to make that jump.
And so I would say that there's there's probably a
bit of both going on in this man's head, or
there was anyway, he's dead now sure.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Evan Brown from Foxy's Radio is joining us. So I
FBI has been very transparent and trying to learn about this,
and it feels like on a weekly basis, we have
some sort of gigantic news item and investigation that needs
to take place. And I'm sure it's exhausting for somebody
in your line of work journalists trying to gain facts

(11:39):
on every single thing that's happening out there. Is this
a trend that is alarming to you? You've done you know,
you've been a journalist for a while. Is this something
that if are we is am my recency bias here
that is making me feel like we have seen a
lot more violent acts here recently? Or is this just

(12:01):
something that these are high profile and we are just
overly sensitive right now to anything like this that happens
because our sense of awareness is heightened.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Again, I'm gonna say it's both. Yes, there is an increase,
a measurable increase of political violence, and with a twenty
four hour news cycle, and with news content for the
purpose of clicks being delivered to the palm of our
hand and then forced directly into our eyes. At most
points during the day, even in what should be our downtime,

(12:34):
we are being affected by it more.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Yes, well, Evan Brown is a guy who covers this,
and your job is very difficult. Evan, I do appreciate
the time today, last thing for you as it relates
to this particular incident and the conversation that comes after.
And I know I'm maybe asking you to speculate again here,
but I think we forget too quickly about who did

(13:01):
this stuff. You know, we I think we pledged to
ourselves that that Minneapolis killer, we were going to learn
everything that their parents or anyone close to them had
said about their behavior over their you know, teenage years
and into their early twenties, and that fell out of
public consciousness within a week. Of course, the Charlie Kirk assassin,

(13:22):
he's still alive, so well, hopefully learn more about this individual,
but I hope that that doesn't fade into public out
of the public consciousness. We're trying to learn about red flags,
how to maybe prevent this stuff from happening in the future.
What will it take for you know, our news cycle
to not forget about the people that are perpetrating these
crimes while the investigators are trying to get the information

(13:46):
to try to put this entire puzzle together.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Well, a lot of that is public interest, you know,
and public interest shifts very quickly. But you know, there
there would hopefully be adequate reporting on these cases that
continue to that continues to be done, and that it's
there for people who have the interest to keep up
with the case. So, you know, I think the whole

(14:11):
you know, sort of the national attention deficit that we
have where we move from one horrible thing to the next,
is sort of a creature of you know, our media
and whatnot, but it's also a bit of human nature.
We you know, if we're not personally vested or invested
in something, we tend to move on, even though we

(14:32):
may still have some feelings about these things, but we
do tend to personally move on if we're not really connected.
I do think, just my own conjecture here that the
Charlie Kirk killing is something that might transcend that I
think this has affected people in a significant way that

(14:54):
they themselves will not move on very easily from it,
and perhaps maybe they shouldn't. I think this is certainly
a a moment in time, probably akin, I think I've
said this before to the JFK assassination or the MLK
assassination or the RFK assassination, and maybe to some degree
that John Lennon killing as well. So I just I

(15:14):
think for so many Americans, especially under the age of
let's say forty, they're going to remember exactly where they
were when that news broke, and therefore they're going to
have a bit more of an emotional investment in it.
What happened yesterday in Dallas. I think so many people
will be abhorred by it, but it's only natural to
be abhorred by the next thing next week.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Sadly, Yeah, it's a sad conundrum that we find ourselves
in our nation these days. But certainly I'm going to
try to stick with it with interest to understand what
drives people to make these determinations and reporting on it
as always. Evan Brown with Fox News Radio, Evan really
appreciates the time today.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
You bet take care, all right, And you know I.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Had an email come in. This is from AJ, and
AJ says, dims lose seats of census population goes down
in their districts since the legals are counted as it
relates to the census, and that's the reason for the
sanctuary cities in the open border right. And I get it.
I understand why they would be in favor of doing that,

(16:24):
but the rhetoric in and of itself, like, you can't
blind us to it. If I came on here and
I was saying some of the stuff that these politicians
have said about their political enemies, and this does relate
to Ice. Especially, it's just saying that this is fascist,

(16:46):
this is authoritarian, when it really is just enforcement of
our rules. It really is enforcement of the laws of
this country. And I would really challenge people who think
that this is authoritarian to go live in a truely
authoritarian country and then try to speak out about different
things and see how you're treated. It really is just

(17:10):
a real shame that people are saying these terrible things
about how America operates when all America is trying to
do is be the best version of itself. And I
know that we have elections for that, and I know
that there are people who are Democrats, and democratic politicians
have found a way to make illegal immigration a humanity
issue when it really is a criminal issue. The idea

(17:32):
of just grabbing a gun to try to kill people
who are doing their jobs as law enforcement, not thinking
about the fact that they are husbands or wives, that
their sons or daughters, that they have children. I just
don't understand that. Now. Again, I would love to hear
people on the political left tone it down. I also

(17:53):
had an email today from another listener who said, I
am a big Trump supporter like JD. Vance, but I'm
getting uncomfortable with their language the last couple of days.
I understand that JD's grieving the murder of his close
friend and that he's angry about the violence aimed at Ice,
but I would prefer a more measured response than to
hell with you. Then. Trump today says the far left

(18:15):
needs to watch their step because the right is stronger,
something the President shouldn't say, even if he is correct.
It makes me very uneasy. This is what I was
saying in the wake of the Charlie Kirk assassination is Yes,
this is a great opportunity for us to turn the
temperature down. Nobody in leadership on either side wants to
do that. It has to start from there. We can

(18:35):
change how we approach things. We can be better about
trying to be open minded and be friendlier to people
and not make everything such a life and death matter
as far as it relates to politics, because it's words,
it is debate, But the people who are in leadership
in both the Republican and Democratic parties, they don't know
how to do that. It is only really angry, passionate,

(18:59):
fiery tone about what the other side is doing. You
see it with you know, Gavin Newsom was on Colbert
this week and he was talking about how Ice going
in there and just tearing them apart. They have no
problem putting a Democrat on that talk show, right, and
no problem at all doing that. Then on the other

(19:20):
end you see JD. Vance saying something like, you know,
you can go to hell or to hell with you
if you have nothing but bad things to say about Ice.
I don't know, you know, it's just it's not going
to change anything. Nothing's changed, That's I guess. The lesson
here is that we're going to have to do it
ourselves because our politicians aren't going to change the way

(19:40):
that they talk about this
