(00:00):
Let's do this fast in your seatups. I wake up every morning Boston's
only classic rock morning show. Ilook at myself at the mirror and I
go, maybe I'm dreaming. MaybeI'm awake dreaming. I'm asleep with Pete
McKenzie. I still vomit before everyshow to a Ford, I feel dirty
and unsatisfied and Kenny of Yeah, let's get crazy. In other words,

(00:25):
I'm crazy onety seven. I wantyou to go hard, fast, heavy,
get to it. Here's to thefuture, you see, Alex,
would you reveal we have the technology, we have the cap fundy to make
the world's first by one man.Kenny will be that man's better, stronger,

(00:51):
faster. Yeah, I've always wantedto be a bionic man. And
I'll tell you what after this week'sphysical setbacks and mental setbacks at times,
do you ever have those fever dreams? Oh boy, fever? Oh I
was seeing some weird stuff. I'lltell you this about that. Sure.

(01:14):
So I'm sorry for my absence totwo days. But the body just shut
down on me. Yeah, Ithink I trace it back to last Saturday.
I started to feel wonky last Saturday, and then it kind of laid
dormant for a couple of days, and boy, when I left work here
on Tuesday, started to catch upwith me. I was kind of limping
around and you know what I mean, I just didn't feel myself. But

(01:34):
you definitely throw out signs to beout. We'll get to more of that.
The joints are hurting and all thatstuff. Pete knows a thing or
two about joints. At Pete McKenzietell you this about that man. I
used to be intimidated by the Internetand the World Wide Web, but thanks
to America Onlines, great new webbrowsers, I'm right at home. That's
right. I still have an almail address. Do you still have those

(01:57):
AOL CDs that used to come themail member that five hundred hours free?
All right? Yeah, God,I remember those things us to anytime I
get my because I don't put everythingthrough work email, you know, because
I know they look at it,you know there they see it. Oh
yeah, they have the potential tosee it. I have three emails,
so I still we still use Aoldot com. Oh, I've been thinking

(02:20):
I need a good burner account. What say you, Heather Ford? You
feel like doing some singing today?Let's do it. Yeah, let's go.
I don't know good with me inthese streets. I don't want know
bod with me in these streets.Cos ain't nobody got time? Nobody.

(02:51):
Yes, that's how you like tostart a Friday morning. Right there.
I knew it was going to bea good Friday, Kenny. When driving
in this morning, I had WBZas A usually do, to see what
the headlines are for the day,and the traffic reporters said there are no
work crews out and about anywhere becausethey thought that the nor'easter might extend into

(03:12):
the working hours, so they justcanceled all the It was phenomenal. It
was the easiest drive when I gotto the bu overpassed there on the pike,
and I had heard the same thingjust before. But when I got
to that point, I usually startto look for the giant arrows telling you
to get in the left or theright, and there was nothing. And
I was like, this is theeasiest drive in no work crews out there

(03:35):
and enjoying on. That's a goodquestion. What are they working on?
We've been asking that question for years. Oh you don't know. No,
See, I knew there was aset up. There was lighting in the
prow tunnel they were working on fora while, and I knew there was
some structural stuff on the side therebecause I think they're putting something else across
the highway now closer to bus. Those are just good educated guesses. Yeah,

(03:57):
that's all I can do is speculate. But are they maybe checking the
structure her old integrity of all ofthe overpasses. Let's hope you can only
but yeah, every day it's acrab shoot. You don't know if you
have to move over to the leftor the right, and sometimes the system
matter. I'm moving cones around today. You got all the lanes open.
Yeah, that was nice man, beauty fat keep it rolling. Well.

(04:17):
Glad to have you back, Kenny, because Chuck's a pain in the ass.
Wow. Wow, by the way, Heather enjoyed it. I can
tell today's my sister's fortieth birthday. So and that's a big deal for my
parents, because according to them,it never matters how old I get,
It matters how old Jamie gets.I completely understand that she's the youngest,

(04:40):
and when the youngest hits a certainage, that's when they start to feel
old. Yes, So Jamie hitsforty, which she's celebrating with her family
in Disney World because she's a millennialand Disney World is the place to like.
She can't get enough of it ofDisney World, so she I don't
even know what to I didn't evenknow what to get her. I don't
even know what to do. Imean, I'm going to say Avid Birthday,

(05:03):
Jamie. But I feel so badfor my parents because I know today
they're going to be in like mourning, you know. I mean, I
just thought about it the other day. My daughter's thirty three, and that
came into my head because you've mentionedthat before, and I thought, she's
seven years from being forty. Thatmeans I'm going to be really old.
That means you're going to be thefather of a forty year old. But

(05:23):
in seven years. Yeah, butstill, I know my mother was so
my mother was twenty when she gotmarried and just slightly older than that when
I was born. So when Iturned a certain age, I think for
her because it wasn't as big adeal because we were not so close but
so close in age, whereas mysister, it just gets to her.

(05:44):
Is there going to be a specialsister's trip this year. Like you guys
like to take we do like totake trips. But because they're spending the
year at Fort Knox, it kindof screwed everything up because, yeah,
talk about lucking it down. Yeah, which, by the way, when
my parents went to visit, mydad came back, he goes, Fort
Knox is very nice. They visiteda lot of bases in their lives because

(06:06):
my sister she moves a lot,and my dad was not expecting he goes,
I really liked it there, AndI'm like, I was not expecting
you to like Fort Knox. Thoughtthat was going to be like your saddest
place you've ever visited. But heliked it there. That's funny. They
asked Caitlin Clark what she thought aboutCleveland, you know, because a women's
final fours in Cleveland, and shewas like, wow, I didn't know

(06:29):
this had so many gems. Right, Well, she had just been in
Albany, New York, and notso many gems. I mean, you're
in downtown Albany and it looks likeyou're in a neighborhood, like a suburban
neighborhood. Central ab goes right downand it's basically homes like one story and
two story homes almost the whole wayinto the city. And then there's the
big gold dome right there, andthen you're just and then it's just boom

(06:50):
Albany. So Cleveland's like, aIt's funny. I've been I've been by
Albany a million times, going backand forth Boston and Cleveland on the throughway.
Yeah. I have always gone aroundAlbany, right, And when you
do, sometimes you probably pass whatyou think is the city and it's actually
sony Albany. You see these bigbuildings and you're like, whoa, look
at that and those are dorms right, That ain't city. No. So

(07:14):
anyway, happy birthday to Jamie's Happybirthday. Birthday Jamie, even though she's
in Florida and not paying attention tome. Is the lex weather. Cloudy,
rain and snow, showers taper off, maybe a shower in spots this
afternoon. Highs in the forties, cloudy with showers Tomorrow. Highs again in
the forties, thirty six degrees inBoston. I'm Heather Ford on one hundred
point seven w ZLX, Bostin's onlyclassic rock morning show, five forty two

(07:35):
thirty six degrees. It's April, right. I just want to make sure
when I said thirty six degrees, listen, first off the top, I
have a confession to make. Ihad a break protocol today and at don
don the soft pants. Oh you'renot in shorts? Listen. All I
could try to take care of yourbody? Are you? All I could

(07:58):
hear when I got out of theshower today was my late grandmother's voice echoing
in my head. Don't go outof the house with shorts on like that.
You'll catch your death of cold. That was her big line, You'll
catch your death of cold. Soall I was thinking was is I can't
wear shorts today. I've been bundledup under blankets, right, sweatshirts,

(08:18):
sweats, and I had my houseslippers on for two and a half days.
I was your fever, Did yourfever break? It finally did yesterday
morning. Like I got up andkind of got going around a little bit
and got some fluids in me,lots of fluids, and uh yeah,
I was taking my temperature like Idon't know, three or four times a
day, and it finally came backdown. And I was like, oh,

(08:39):
thank God, because it's like youhave these sweats and you're just like,
I'm achy, I can't sleep yahdaYadA ya da. It's just I
don't know. It's one of thesetransitional things, I guess at the end
of the year. And the worstpart is, and I told you guys
this earlier. I took my flushot back in November, and I guess
whatever this strain was just had thewherewithal to battle through that found its way.

(09:01):
I like how you texted us yesterdaybecause you know, the question was
whether Kenny would return on Friday ornot or take the weekend to recover.
Fully. I'm gonna do that too. But and then he threw in the
fact that you had a migraine andwhat's the best medicine for a migraine?
And Heather texted, I use it, well, use it over the Countergraine.

(09:22):
I texted the only buddy I knowthat gets migraines, Victor, Yeah,
and he texted the same thing back. It's been a long time since
I got one of those too. It's like light, sound, so sensitive
to everything. I couldn't even keepmy eyes oupen. It was terrible.
I don't know that experience. Andthen I yeah, that happens to That
happens too. But yeah, Igot bundled up like Randy from a Christmas
story. And I went to drovethe mile down to the wallgreens in that

(09:46):
slop yesterday and I just walked overto the pain relief section and I was
like, there it is the body. I have like a gallon jug of
them. That's the biggest bottle youcould. And then I was afraid,
like cause I popped two as soonas I got home. I popped two
of those with like some liquid IV. And then I was thinking, I

(10:09):
better eat something now too, becauseI don't want to like have it come
up and then I have to takeit again. And it was all you
just took e C and Migraine witha glass of scotch. Better eat something.
It was not scotch. Yeah.I mean, on the bright side,
you develop a viral thing like this, and I think I'm probably down
three and a half pounds solas. My wife called me a quote cheater for

(10:31):
doing that. I said, believeme, you don't want what I had,
all right. So again, sleepingin the separate bedrooms came in handy
this week too. Hey, Ijust noticed too this is the final day
of our Rock the Whole week,so as we've been doing all week,
giving you a chance to win yourway into not one, but two different
shows at the MGM Music Hall,Fenway this month. Judas Priest on the
twenty fifth. We got him. Those tickets will come out of the shoot

(10:54):
at eight ten this morning. Wehave him again at eleven ten and three
ten with Chuck. He'll have BlackCrows tickets to get you into that show
in the twenty eighth. So yeah, Rock the Hall Week concludes today,
your last three chances when your wayinto another classic concert from a Planet Fitness
w CLX Studios. Now, thanksfor making that part of your morning idiots.

(11:16):
Great story, Thank God one sevenWCLX boss it. I just want
the both of you to know justhow close at least one of us came
to being a millionaire after the lastpower How close Apparently there were one million
dollar winners in Medway, which isclose to me and kind of I mean,

(11:39):
and there was one at the MedfordWegmans. Wow. So not close
in numbers, but proximity, yes, geographically, yes, we could have
just walked to the Wegmans and beenthe person to get that quick pick.
Sure, I'm assuming it's a quickpick for some reason, but you know,
it could be their numbers. Butand they won a million dollars.

(12:00):
Nice, so there was that wouldbe a nice that'd be a nice split.
Oh yeah, comfortable. That's thekind of lottery winning that happened when
I was a child. A milliondollars and everybody's like a million dollars.
I feel like we're living in theAustin Powers, you know, where you
think a million dollars is a lot, but it's not anymore. I don't
know, Kenny, were you herewhen we talked about how many billionaires there

(12:22):
are on the planet right now?So guess how many billionaires there are?
Because they had the top list, you know Forbes? Yeah, on who's
because Taylor Swift made it on thelist because she is worth more than a
billion dollars, I'm going to guesslike four hundred two five hundred billionaires.
Wow, yeah, yes it is, yes, it is. That's a

(12:45):
crazy amount of money that most ofthem have a billion, but still they
have a billion. Like just goback to your childhood and think to yourself,
the insane concept of thinking there wasgoing to be someone even that you
knew or that existed on the planetthat was worth a billion. Like the

(13:05):
number billion didn't even come up inconversation. No one ever said I'm gonna
have a You said a bajillion. If you wanted to say an absurd amount,
you made up a word for billion. Yeah, like I'm going to
be a bajillionaire. We had tolook it up. How do you get
to a billion? Number? It'snine hundred ninety nine million, nine hundred
ninety nine thou that's what I mean. Like when you went higher than a

(13:30):
million, it was a bajillion, and now there are two thousand, five
hundred bajillionaires. It's just a spacenumber. It sounds made up, like
not even I mean, the onlycomforting part was that the person who's the
highest is still three quarters of atrillion dollars away, right, So they're
you know, they they don't havethat much money to make it a trillion,

(13:54):
but they could get there. Whoknows. I just it blew my
mind. But anyway, if theywere this close million dollar winters, maybe
I'm saying, maybe there's a chancedraw tomorrow. Did I tell you just
a million that's all we need?Right? I kind of adjusted my strategy.
When I buy a little side hustleticket for the Big jack bars,
Uh, well, I had someissues with the app, so I've been

(14:16):
buying physical tickets. But my newstrategy is I'll go to like an out
of the way like po Dunk conveniencestore, like Ladle Place, because guess
what, it's always one of thesethe way places you hear about in California
or Florida. Maybe like a grocerystore. But I like those little out
of the way convenience story I shotthere, Yeah, did I probably one?

(14:41):
Yeah, walked right by the machine. I brought one of those Jaws
tickets by the way, and Idid. And it's funny because before I
scratched, I was scrolling through Twitterand I noticed from w CVB and the
woman won a million dollars on theJaws. And I was like, this
is great timing because I just askedthe guy, the clerk. I just
asked the quirk, Yeah, doesanybody won on this yet? So lash
and he said no, and hesaid, perfect, give me one.

(15:03):
Nope, I won. Yeah.Dorchester was oh, so, so it's
ten dollars. Maybe I'll buy one. I mean they seem fun. They
are fun. They're cool to lookat. But we should do what Kenny
did and just go to an outof the way place like they You know
what I mean, that's what we'lldo, like Al's Market and Variety exactly.
Zlex Weather, there's like a Linda's, right, I think in my

(15:26):
well, go there, z lexWeather. Cloudy, rain and snow,
showers taper off, maybe a showerin spots. This afternoon highs in the
forties, cloudy, the showers tomorrowHIGs again forties, thirty six degrees in
Boston. I'm heather Ford on onehundred point seven seven w ZLX nearly six
point fifteen. Now on this Friday, let's go up and at him.
Let's get after it. I knowit's hard to think about that today,

(15:46):
thirty six. It's a little slushymess out there. It was weird.
It was dry when I left thehouse, but the closer I got to
the city it was like that sleety, rainy mix again, and then the
water works shut off by the timeI got up a Medford. So I
don't know what to expect for theweekend. It looks pretty wet and cloudy
until Sunday. Right, Pete Wellit looks like we'll have our clear skies

(16:08):
on Monday. That's what's important.Really, Well, I think maybe yeah
time, hopefully we'll get the warmweather. I mean, you know kind
of expect to, you know,be cloudy and cool. You know it's
not going to be that great, and hopefully, yeah, Monday looks good,
hopefully warms it. Well, Monday'sone thing with the eclipse, but
Tuesday is the SOX home opener,so hopefully we'll have sunny skies and some

(16:30):
kind of warm weather for that. The only part I dislike about going down
to Cover Socks home opener for thestation is those days when I've had like
the ski jacket on, the winterhat, the gloves and I've done it.
It's like, it's not fun,but I'll do it. But hopefully
maybe just some lighter fare would begood. You want to get away from

(16:52):
it all. We want to goto where it's warm right now. Well,
we can help you get there atthe end of the month. New
Orleans Jazz Fest that's right, thatwe kicked off this week. It's two
weeks of entry. We'll get youdown to New Orleans with a guest.
That's airfare five nights Hotel Grand MarshallVIP passes for the whole second weekend of
the festival with headliners like Foo Fighters, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones,

(17:14):
and probably I don't know three dozenother bands each day. It's amazing how
big this thing is New Orleans JazzFest. So this national flyway, you
could be part of it, allright. All you have to do is
pop open the iHeartRadio app, whichyou're listening to us on anyway, right
and just start listening to WZLEX andit'll track back through your account and say,
oh, oh, Pete's listening.I'm going to enter them into this
content beautiful, just like that.Sorry, Pte, you're not eligible,

(17:37):
but this runs through the fifteenth,so do it early and often. Pop
open that iHeartRadio app and have atit. And by all means you want
to be part of the show here, part of the discussion. You can
always reach out to us on theiHeartRadio app. But that talkback feature Boston's
only classic rock morning show, Aloansome George Thorogood and his Delaware Destroyers one
hundred point seven WZLX thirty six outthere now six twenty six on the nose.

(18:00):
It's Kenny Young, Pete McKenzie andhad the phone. What I say
to you, Pete, when Iwalked in this morning and I my desk
is across from yours, like diagonal, and I put my stuff down,
and it's very unusual. Yes,I will, I will say that.
Heather said she was still drunk.Yeah, oh yeah, I am.
I'm definitely tipsy, a wee bitfuzzy. Are we little bit fuzzy?
Like I'm not like, like failat an alcohol test? No, right,

(18:25):
yeah, but I definitely feel like, uh, you got remnants,
oh for sure system. Oh yeah, always Kenny's fuzzy with the with the
illness and oh yeah, you're fuzzywith self inflicted wounds. I could be
hallucinating this whole thing right now.You could be. So. Last night
my friend Ryan and I took hWe drove our boys in for a concert

(18:45):
at the Garden a JR. WhichI know neither of you have heard of,
but they have two sold out showsat the Garden. Forget about a
g R. I've never heard ofyou doing any school night drinking. Yeah,
especially in the last ten years. So we dropped them off because they
both can drive, but we justdidn't want them, you know, to
park at the garden, and sowe you know, and Ryan and her
husband had lived in the North Endfor so long that she's very comfortable there,

(19:08):
like drive finding out of no inthe middle of nowhere, parking and
walking and she has favorite restaurants. So we parked and then we went to
Luca Have you guys been to havesat at the bar and had drinks and
some appetizers while we waited for theboys to finish up the concert. There's

(19:29):
going to be a two and ahalf hour show or something. Well I'm
a little more because there was anopener and the boys loved it. It
was amazing, you know, theysaid they rocked it out. They checked
the playlist beforehand, setlist, andthey knew it was coming, you know.
So anyway, we sit down andI start out with the Manhattan.
Now mind you, we didn't startout with food, Okay, I started
with Manhattan. I'm like, I'llgo light after this. So after the

(19:49):
Manhattan, I had a glass ofwhite wine because I'm like, this is
light, and I'm okay, yeah, I'm not driving. Tell no food.
And then I had a second glassof white wine, and uh,
we had some appetizers. Okay, one of them. They have the best
deviled eggs there no one ever gets. Yeah, as an appetizer at a

(20:12):
restaurant, there was phenomenal. Itwas like a little spicy. It was
a hot right nice. And sowe get like two or three appetizers,
tiny ones, and we don't eatany bread. Uh. And then I
eggs and booze gets worse, andthen they and then they give us a
drink on the house, which waslike this, like a little like Martini

(20:33):
glass. It was like a chocolateyespressoe wonderful drink. And I drink that.
And then because stupidity, I saidthe bartender, who's so nice?
I think? I think he andnice? He was already good looking.
I he goes, do you wantanother glass of white wine? And I

(20:56):
go, yeah, what the hellis wrong with me? School night?
Three glasses of wine? Some freedrink. I don't know what it was?
And uh a Manhattan. I wastotally wasted. Were swimming Ryan maybe
on the weekend. During the weekwell, she does have today off,

(21:19):
so it makes it easier for Iwill tell you that I threw up when
I got home. I was poisoned. Want to hear that enough. You
didn't need enough. There wasn't muchto throw up, but there. I
was so drunk last night and Ididn't even go to a concert. And
I had such a good night evenwith not feeling well. When I got

(21:41):
home, I still enjoyed myself somehowyou did. I can't. I don't
even have a headache. How doI Is that that's because that's because you've
hydrated since though? Right? Well? Yeah, my husband, My husband
was at the car when we pulledin. Someone must have given him a
heads up text, maybe my son, maybe Ryan. So when we pulled

(22:03):
into my driveway, he was waitingfor me, because that's when I woke
up at the passenger side door, arms folded. Oh no, no,
no, he's so good about itany and walked and walked me into the
house where I you know, herhair back. No no, no,
I closed the door where I gotrid of my poisoning and went about my

(22:26):
sleeping. I'm surprised I set myalarms, but I think I remember at
one point Ryan going, set youralarms now, Like I remember saying that,
Like she knew I was going becauseI'd still be asleep right now.
Yeah, let me ask about Ihave a question about the ride home.
Was there a lot of full throttlesinging going on to the car? Passed
out? Oh you didn't even makeit home? Oh yeah, no,

(22:48):
I was completely passed out in thecar. I didn't hear about the show
or anything. Ryan texted me thismorning, or she actually texted me last
night. She just goes, Shegoes quick synopsis, because I would have,
She goes, We love Luca onHanover. Food was delicious, especially
the eggs. We got two freethings dessert and a drink. Must have
been your charming personality, she said, because you know what happens when I

(23:11):
start drinking, become like I don'tknow you and I and Kevin in the
same way. I haven't done enoughdrinking with you, ye, Kenny,
But like we become almost over thetop happy, really happy, really happy.
Drunks and then and so them.Oh good, like a juggler,
she goes. The couple next tous were on a date. She wore

(23:32):
the pants in that in that date, she writes, So I remember them.
We talked, vented, plotted threepeople's deaths. We walked through the
North End in a rather crispy temperature, but she held me through it all,
and then she goes, uh,the boys had a She goes,
the dudes had an effing great time. Uh, and then we got back
right right. Well, she gaveme a synopsis because she knew I wasn't

(23:53):
gonna remember any of it, rightYeah. Then she goes, I love
you good night. Yeah, that'sa good wing man, right there.
I love you good night. AndI'm off today anyway. But I think
at this point it's safe to saylast night we found our Oh yes,
I was that person. You maybe a drink on the shop two days

(24:14):
ago. Here it is, yes, and I have a full day ahead
of me, Like I don't evenwant to get into it because it's school
related, but I have a fullday ahead of Well, you need those
drinking vitamins that you gave me.Okay, good, you're good, then

(24:36):
you'll be fine. Those are theones you got in Canada. Yeah.
No. Boston's only classic rock morningshow on under point seven w z l
X six forty six thirty six,Anny Young, Pete McKenzie, heather Ford.
We're all enraptured by this viral videoof this. I'm sorry, it's

(24:56):
an outdoor picnic. What it isI mean it might be a church Nick
Canny. Be honest, what wewere doing, we pulled a three am
move. When you're laying in bedscrolling through Instagram, that's what we were
scrolling through. The radio show.I know, I know we got entrapped.
Yeah, I mean, that's whatwe signed up for. When you
see a fella in high heeled cowboyboots, it's I don't know, it's

(25:17):
enough to stop me in my track. Showstopper right there, he's a showstopper.
He's having at it. But eachtime I've watched that viral video now
and it's to what the vogue songfrom Madonna when they put that over,
but I think they were clearly dancingto something else. But anyway, each
time I've watched it, I focuson like a different character. Yeah right,
because there's so many. It's likethat original church one where all those

(25:38):
people look like they're dancing the demonsout of their bodies. The eyes they
look like Mormon's doing that. Whenyou watch that one, you don't know
who to focus on. This isthe same thing, and it ends with
a man dressed as a cowboy butwearing pink pumps. It's dangerous I mean,
you can break an ankle that way. Yeah, he definitely knows what
he's doing. Oh my gosh.Yeah, I mean, this is what

(26:00):
happens when you're scrolling the grams rightas you know. I had a little
time on my hands the last twodays. I did a little bit of
scroll on when my head would allowit. But yeah, at one point
I felt like, what am Idoing? What are we doing with ourselves
here? And then on the otherside of it, I was like,
well, what am I doing watchingthese people? You know what I mean?

(26:21):

Chuck publicly, I thanked him privately, but for filling in for me the
last couple of days here and pullingdouble duty no less, because God knows
I've been there and had to doit. So thank you Chuck for not

(27:22):
only coming in and doing the morningshow but also pulling his afternoon show.
And it's like pulling teeth getting himin here. Oh, I know,
to do a morning show. Hedoes not like to get up at the
break of darkness. He doesn't,I think, he always said, thankfully
yeah, because he does a goodjob. He could do a morning show.
He could do it, but hedoesn't want to. He doesn't want
to get up right, which isto our benefit. It is is a

(27:47):
weird sociopathic side to getting up attwo thirty three o'clock in the morning.
Whatever it is, it's not saytell you not see well, listen,
interact with the show here, openus up on the free iHeartRadio app.
You can use the talk back featuretex w's X and your message over to
seven oh four to seven oh froma Planet Fitness WCLX studios. Now,
thanks for making that part of yourmorning. Great story. Thank God one

(28:12):
seven WCLX bosses. So, myhusband, I've talked about this is very
into this total solar eclipse that's comingon Monday. Was not into the one
that happened what five, six, seven, eight years ago, I don't
even know when it was. Hewasn't into that as much. But he
keeps saying, this is the lastone in my lifetime, and he wants
to go to the place of totality. So he and William are going to

(28:34):
Buffalo to my niece's house. She'sgot four kids, and they're going to
sit in their yard, eat smashburgers and look up at sid No,
she's the person that they send allthe animals to. She's this is the
niece who when the the what doyou call it? There were two pigs
that were taken out of uh afrat house because they were just fed beer

(28:57):
and pizza and they were didn't wantto put them down. She was the
one called and she has the areain the yard to take care of frat
pigs, so no, there willbe no sacrificing. So anyway they're going.
They're going to Buffalo. But Isaid, if you miss this,
there are more total solar eclipses. They're just not in this country, right,

(29:18):
So I looked it up. Sothe next one is August of twenty
twenty six, Okay, okay, and it's in Spain. Spain will be
one of the places, and Iceland. Everybody loves going to Iceland. Sure,
so I put that forward. Whydon't we just plan a trip to
Spain. Obviously he's so excited aboutthis one because he gets to go home

(29:38):
to see it. I know thatmust be it. That's true. Well,
no, before he even like hewanted to go to Maine initially,
But that's in the part of Mainewhere people eat people, right. We
talked about that the other day.Maybe it's because he can drive to it.
The last one he probably couldn't driveto No, No, No,
but he could drive to May.Yeah. Maybe I don't. I don't
know. I just maybe it's mediahype. Maybe it could be for some

(30:02):
reason when you heard the words thatthis would be the last in his lifetime.
Yeah, it like made some sortof a stepped right. He just
he's like, I have to seethis one. So I don't know.
Yeah, I wish I was goingwith him. I'll be honest with you.
Do you want to go to youwant to? I would, but
I can't. No, do youwant to go to Spain twenty six?
Maybe that might be a fun tripfor sure. My parents love going there

(30:25):
and visiting family, So splurge. We could stay in a family's house,
like in family's house, like likeOme's there, so we wouldn't have to
pay for hotels. I like thatidea, right, that might be nice.
I don't know anyway, So keepthat in mind for if we're still
talking in twenty twenty six, wewe'll still be talking, But will we
still be talking next to each other? I don't know that that is really
And it would probably be more likeI'd be communicating with your wife, right,

(30:48):
and I'd be like, Sandy,we're going to Spain. She'd be
like, Okay, knock me outfor the flight. Right. The other
story that people are talking about, although it I don't know. I feel
like no one can drive fast inthe city of Boston is that Boston is
considering dropping the speed limit to twentymiles per hour in the wake of recent
pedestrian crashes. So this was onNBC Boston, and I there's been fatalities.

(31:12):
A four year old girl was killedon Thursday. Pedestrian was hit by
a truck and sent to the hospital. Like, these are things that have
happened recently. But like I wasin I was in the North End last
night. We were going four milesan hour. Oh yeah, it's hard
to drive anything faster than that. There's part there's parts of the city where

(31:32):
you just can't drive fast, right, So, but I mean they want
to take it down to twenty becausecity councilor Ed Flint says twenty five might
be too much. They want tosee strict enforcement of the speeding laws traffic
by Boston police. That is,cannot expect the police officer to be at
every single corner or intersection of thecity. We just don't have the map

(31:56):
power for that. You can havecameras at every single corner, though,
could But I mean that's enforcement,I don't. Yeah, and then they
send you a ticket, I guess, Yeah, Well they have one at
the lake down here, right,or they were putting them. Is Medford
getting right we were supposed to getI remember. I know you can't ban
them, but you can camera themwith their speeding enforcement cameras. Yeah,
oh, I didn't know that.I think they were about starting maybe at

(32:20):
Summerville they were going to do that. I don't know, but it was
somewhere around I'll be honest, becausethere's you know, in the mornings,
when there's nobody on that icon, you run that red light. I don't
run the red light, but Icome ripping over the bridge. Oh you
know what I mean, because there'sno one else, there's no one on
the road. It's like I tendto get a healthy head of steam when
I got over that bridge. SinceI don't live in Boston, I don't
I'm sure there are plenty of neighborhoodswhere people drive way too fast. I

(32:42):
just don't know where they are.But twenty miles per hour is almost hard
to drive. It's almost more oftenthan not. Yeah, it's funny,
you say, because Ed Flynn, who just heard from there, he went
on to say after that that maybeeven fifteen miles an hour. Oh my
god, I get it. Imean, pretty soon we won't be drive
anyway. Things will be driving forus, so we won't have to worry
about it safe. It doesn't itsounds wonderful. The Alex weather cloudy rains,

(33:06):
no showers, taper off, maybea shower in spots later this afternoon
though, hides in the forties, cloudy with showers tomorrow. His again in
the forties, thirty six degrees inBoston. I'm Heather Ford on one hundred
point seven double z LX and canI just say right off the top here,
I think we're happy to welcome homethe Boston Red Sox after this weekend
series with Anaheim socks are just cruisingright now. The starting pitching has been

(33:30):
off the chain. Guys are startingto hit. Tell you what Jaring Duran,
you know with the blonde mullet.I see that's where he gets his
power from now Duran and the Sedania. Raphael the outfielder, the kid has
got wheels out there. He's beenmaking circus catches and center fee one kid.
He's got a great personality. Oh, very excited about this year's team,

(33:51):
as it's said very optimistically going intolast week when they started the season
at the end of March, there. So yeah, Tuesdays the home opener
at Fenway, they'll host Baltimore attwo ten. Well, let's get onto
h Frosty or Sports Action, andthat is our Boston Bruins. Yes,
indeed, another historic night for theBeasts. They're down in Raleigh, taken

(34:13):
on the Hurricanes and the game wasover after the first period, which was
great news for me because I hadalready planned to go to bed early.
You get that's it wasn't going overtime. Oh yeah, and they're always a
tough opponent for the Bruins. Carolinagets stingy with the Bruins. I don't
know what it is. I mean, they beat him in a few statistical
categories last night, but right offthe jump, history was made and put

(34:37):
the team ahead. And that wasmister Brad Marshan Borshon four hundred, four
hundred goals for Brad Borshat Jack EdwardsJanessen on the call which you didn't hear
in that call was was an awesomebreakaway by Marshann where you got the pike

(34:59):
just after enter ice and just cruiseone of those long two line passes with
the defense. Oh, Marshann hadthe extra step. It was pretty goal
pretty pretty gold. I'll just saythat Jack. Let the pictures do the
talking. He did. He did. Uh well, what was great was
for him to like bury this monkeythat was hanging on his shoulders because,

(35:21):
uh what it's been He's been sittingon three ninety nine for ten games.
Wow. Really yeah, so youknow it's floating around the back of your
head. And so he becomes onlythe fifth Bruin all time to score four
hundred or more goals, which Ithought was awesome, you know, I
mean, he sees part of history. Now, he's part of the lore,
if you will. So congrats toBrad marshand. After the game,

(35:43):
he was asked about finally getting thatmonkey off his back. I's good and
ately try not to think about it, but you know, obviously it was
kind of an elephant in the room. Nice to get it and don't have
to worry about it anymore. Justyou know, it's nice that we had
a really good game to follow itup and a big road trips. So
it's good night, yeah, goodnight, good good good on your games
left for the Bruins and the postseason. I should point out past pastun Netted,

(36:07):
his forty seventh on the season, high end with his sixteenth and I
love to say hamp Us Lindholme tackedone on at the end there in the
third period. Thank you, Hampus. Yeah, they're gonna be back home
tomorrow another huge game. They'll hostthe Panthers, which thanks to last night's
when the Bees are four points aheadin the conference standing. So yeah,

(36:27):
playing for home ice. These gamesare important down the stretch. Keep it
rolling, Bees, keep it rolling. And then we'll host the Hurricanes again
next Tuesday. So I stole alot on the line, but getting pumped
up for the playoffs. Baby Showseven forty two. On this Friday morning,
thirty six. Some sunshine out there, that's a welcome sight. Tell
you this about that. I washappy to see some green grass when I

(36:47):
pulled out of the drive this morning. So yes, that the partial sunshine
will take it right, much betterthan yesterday's view. I can tell you.
It's getty young Pete McKenzie, heatherFord. There have been more snowstorms,
Kenny, I must say, inthe last two years where I've just
watched the driveway melt. Yeah, rather than shovel light out there and moved

(37:08):
the slush around. I'm telling youit's like it's like five to two in
a rain shovel and rain shovel.Yeah. They were talking about that on
the news yesterday. They had thosebig earth movers out in parts of New
England. Ye, shovel in thewater. I saw that as a matter
of fact. Yeah, what's goingon with Boston's only classic rock morning show

(37:28):
on oneoint seven w z LEX.So I'm preparing for this colonoscopy on Monday.
Not the mentally, yeah, Imean I've been through it before.
I was gonna say you've had itbefore, but it is ten years.
Remember Kevin and I did it together. I do, Yeah, we did
it together. And so here's thething. I remember our producers were there,
yes, and they recorded you yes, and I And because I remember

(37:51):
that audio, I just I knowhow loopy you were after you is Kevin?
Okay, you were worried about Kevin. I just want to make sure
that if you are outside and aboutthat, your wife slaps some eclipse glasses
on you, because I'm afraid youwon't. You'll be like, look at
the sun, right, and becauseyou'll be all loopy, and I want

(38:15):
to make sure that she's looking outfor your eyeballs, like, don't wander
away and start staring at the skyand your loopiness. No, I won't.
Un Fortunately, I'll be I'll bethere. I'm going to take a
lift there or an uber whatever.Okay, but then I'm getting picked up
because you can't leave. Its Sandypicking you up. No, my buddy
Paul is making If you're listening, make sure you slap some glasses on him,

(38:37):
bring a weldess helmet, because weall know what Pete's going to be
like and we want to make surehe's not staring at the sun. I
gotta tell you when they handed methis packet of instruction pictures on there,
yeah, which is of your butt? No, this is a good I
don't want to see those. Iwas actually happy about the pictures. Of
course, we all are. Oneof the things. It's got a big

(38:59):
X through it right here, thispicture because I can't have those legumes les
legumes, yes, legumess. Ididn't know what those were. You ever
hear that word before? Ye?Yeah? Beans? No beans for you?
Yeah? Yeah, okay, sono beans, no corn, no
chickpeas, no nuts, none ofthat stuff. Yeah. And then the

(39:20):
other thing was when it says forbowel prep. Oh good, are you
really going to do this to us? Are there pictures of your ball?
I'm not going to do anything crazy, but I will tell you this that
when they gave me the instructions likedon't put lotion on it, it was
for it was for all these medications. It was for all these things.
Right, Bill, preppering starts. This should be done the day before the

(39:44):
procedure. If your procedure is aftereleven, do a split dose. Blah
blah blah blah. But then theylist all this stuff. So I called
the number and I said, doI have to take all of that all?
I mean, it's usually what didthey say? But is it?
It's in pill four now right? You don't have to do the gallon of
seawater. There's gatorade, now there'sSee. This is the thing that they

(40:07):
don't make it clear that I onlyhave to do one of these things that
they list of. Can I seethat for a second. Yeah, it's
a good thing. I called Iheard something recent something, and I got
to get all this stuff. Iheard something recently. I think it was
a Today show. Well they onlycircled the one. It looks like that.
Yeah, that's what I'm doing thesuper because I heard that they have

(40:27):
these tablets you can take now inlieu of the gallon of seawater, which
is really the worst part of thiswhole procedure, because I've done a couple
of them myself. Thing is theworst part of the procedure. I would
prefer to do the cola guard. That's what my wife got to do.
Yeah, but this is the onlytrue and tried way that I've I've found
from doctor's advice that they really geta clear reading. Yeah, you know

(40:47):
what I mean. Well, great, so that's it's good to flush yourself
out every few well I look atit. I don't know. They said
it gets rid of like all thegood bacteria in your system when you do
stuff like this, So oh,he can build that up in no time.
So no, but that's that's theone downside to doing stuff like this.
So you just don't want to doit too often. Well, you

(41:08):
don't want to do it on yourown like some people are like, Oh,
I'm going to take that stuff theyhave in the store and I'm gonna
flush out the system. I'm gonnafeel great. Yeah, and you flesh
out all of the good bacteria youhave in your guts. Shouldn't this be
the start because it's four days priorthe eating requirements four days prior. It's
crazy today, right, I startedyesterday? Ok. Yeah, so it's

(41:29):
a great way to start a diet, you know, I mean, just
keep this thing handy, right. If you don't like your life, for
sure you hate yourself. Follow thoseI had swordfish last night, sixteen dollars
a pound, by the way, which is really good price, but it
is all right. I don't know. I don't eat swordfish after I found
worms in it once years ago. This was like twenty years ago. Oh

(41:52):
god, Okay, that's like Idon't eat bluefish because I ended up on
the bathroom floor with you after eatingbluefish. A lot of people want me
to eat seafood. I've never askedto know. We're good. We're good.
But I mean I I had srefish, white rice and some summer
squash, and you know, Itook the seeds out because of all the
lea dooms you could find, noosagoms. I might choose my eating habits because

(42:15):
of this. You won't you alreadydid? Doris are right off the table.
Table can't dislike yourself anymore. Okay, Hey, you've got to love
yourself a little bit. Fortunately,I'll be waking up in time, you
know, God willing, I'll bewaking up from the Kolonosky in time to
catch the solar eclips again. Paul, make sure he's got them glasses on
his face, because because my boyhere is gonna start staring at the sun.

(42:37):
Get him at your Comby's knowing,Paul, he'll he'll get, he'll
get the discount sunglasses. Don't dowith slits in them, great, those
are the best. It'll be eclipsewith like extra letters in it, right,
just secondhand type of stuff right there. So we'll see you Monday.
We're all pulling for you Monday, buddy. Seven nine. Now, hey,

(42:58):
listen, twenty minutes away we kickoff the final day of Rock the
Hall Week. When your way tosee Judas Priest in the twenty fifth at
the MGM Music cal fin Well, you're ticket to rock coming up from a
Planet Fitness WCLX Studios, Horizon. Now, now, thanks for making that
part of your morning, idiots, great store. Thank God one seven WCLX,

(43:21):
Boston. I don't know about youtoo, but I couldn't get enough
of watching angry New Englanders on Instagramand TikTok yesterday going crazy about how yes
move here, come live here, and your springtime can look like this.
Only one guy was out there withlike snow goggles on ski goggles, and
he was like, it was notlike this just six days ago. No,

(43:45):
it was raining, and so wewent from rain to what did they
get two feet of snow up north? Yeah, they got clocked. Do
you want to know what it's whatspringtime in New England is like? The
headline on BZ was the Wooster RedSox the Wu Socks Polar Park experience first
official snow out. Yes, theycouldn't even play a game. There was

(44:07):
snow during baseball season. Yeah, the first time I saw some of the
class. Some of the players wereout there in the infield making snow angels.
Well, I mean, we alreadypushed back our home opener for the
Socks and most places, you know, Northeast, because we're not sure when
it's going to stop snow. It'san adjustment Major League Baseball made a few

(44:30):
years ago sending all the northern teamsout west were down south to start the
seasons. It's a good idea.Yes, I kind of remember that time
frame because my buddy and his wifethey booked a trip to Cleveland where the
Socks were set to open up againstthe Indians. They're still the Indians,
and they booked this hotel right downtown. They're like, great, we don't

(44:50):
have to drive the whole weekend. We can walk around all downtown, go
to the game. No, itwas snow. We're snowed out. Cleveland
either has snow or be like aB game where everybody was being a Canadian
soldiers. Flies they call them thestadium mount But I mean Ohio has Cleveland

(45:14):
has the same saying as New Englanddoes. Wait an hour, the weather's
going to change. That's what youget with the Great Lakes, and that's
what you get being on the coast. Yeah, yeah, it's nuts.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to actualspring. That will never happen. I'm
gonna have to go somewhere else tofind it. I'm not going to watch
the totality of the eclipse that's comingup. My husband and my oldest are

(45:36):
going to my husband's hometown of well, he grew up in North North Towanda.
But they're gonna go to the Buffaloarea of the East. I would
have loved to have gone on thattrip with them. You can, I
really can. I'm getting a colonoscbymonday. Yeah, can you can cancel
that and go with that. Andthey're gonna eat burgers, smash burgers in
the front yard, sitting lawn chairs. Sounds great to me. Watch the

(45:58):
totality. I do know that thisnext story I'm going to talk about has
made people agitated, and they've calledkids' names because of it. Don't because
when I give you the reason thatsome of the schools are giving, So
some schools are going to dismiss studentsearlier early on solar eclipse Day, they're
gonna either have a professional development daya half day for teachers, or they're

(46:20):
going to do other things. Andit was like, these kids are such
whims they can't even handle at eclips. Well, they're not making a decision,
no, And I don't think it'sabout the kids right Well, for
a lot of the schools, it'sabout all the people traveling to those areas
to see the totality. And that'sright around when school gets let out.
So you don't want elementary school kidstrapped in traffic while everybody stops their cars

(46:40):
at it. Yeah, you meaneverybody who's driving stops their cars when they're
looking up anyway while they're driving withtheir eclipse glasses on that they can't see
anything out of us. Yeah, these could common sense move. Yeah,
in the areas where that's going tohappen. I can totally understand letting them
out now if you're just doing itbecause you think the kids want to watch

(47:01):
the solar eclipse, and that's alsoa judgment call on your part too.
But I don't call it kids whimsbecause like the schools don't want them to
get caught in some sort of atrap. I just think there's gonna be
accidents everywhere because no one's going toget to where they need to be.
They think the road up to Burlingtonthe main highway, I don't remember the
number is at four whatever, theroad is eighty nine or whatever. That

(47:22):
people are just going to pull offto the side of the road or stop
in the lanes they're in, getout of their car and just look up.
Yeah, because you know I'm goingto get to Burlington in time.
I was thinking of those still shotsyou see of Woodstock where cars do just
that, they're just off on theside of the road. Yeah, because
they can't. There's no moving quitea day for half the country. Super

(47:43):
fun. Why man, by theway, if you can't make it to
this one, just to let youknow, in August of twenty twenty six
there will be total solar eclipse, but you have to be in Spain or
Iceland, so if you're looking fora trip, that might be your place
to get pain. Sounds so muchwarmer, Yeah, so much does well?
Yes, I think Iceland might befine. Okay. The alex weather
cloudy, rain and snowshowers tapering off, maybe a shower in spots this afternoon.

(48:07):
Highs in the forties, cloudy withshowers tomorrow. How's again in the
forties, thirty six degrees in Boston. I'm Heather Ford on one hundred point
seven doubles Lex. All right, listen, we have a couple of selections
to bust out here. Then ateight ten Rock the Hall Week the final
day kicks off when your way tosee Judas Priest coming up at eight ten
Here we'll get you to the MGMat Music Hall, Fenway. Final day

(48:28):
of Rock the Hall Week Boston's onlyclassic rock morning show. Friday is upon
us, my friend, and we'recelebrating on the almost anniversary of one day
after a hawk came to visit usright over Peach Shouldern. Did you see
any of those pictures on today?I saw the Instagram feed that was a
voluptuous hawk. Hey, yeah,it was Daryl chested. Darryl said he

(48:50):
was puffed up and no neck andhe was either hunting, digesting, or
just bracing himself from the dad weather. Yeah, maybe that's where he came
to die, but I don't reallyknow. But he was there for an
hour, so we had to seehim fly not die, right, Well,
I shot a video if you followme, Heather loves for it on
Instagram. I did get the videoof him flying away. So it was

(49:13):
quite a quite a visit. Itwas cool. It was quite a day.
By the way, next to us, Rumba thought it was an owl.
Oh, so we had to informher that it was a vastly different
predatory. But yes, a littlebit as indeed. Pete, no,
no, we're all good. Pete. You found this great clip of a
shack on a podcast interview with thestory you never heard before. Me neither.

(49:36):
So Shaquille O'Neal played in one Olympicevent that makes sense. Dream team.
Yeah, he said he should havebeen part of the one before in
nineteen ninety two. He felt, you know, like he should have been
on that first one. I thinkit was yeah with Bird Georgiana. Yeah,
yeah, Johnson. Yeah. Andso he did end up playing in

(49:58):
the ninety six one. But whenit came to and he was, he
was, you know, a bigcontributor in getting the files. You know,
he had to imagine, right. But in the final, the gold
medal game against Yugoslavia, the coachat the time, Lenny Wilkins, not
Mike Tryzewski, came up to Shackand Uh and told him something. In

(50:21):
the gold medal game, Lenny Wilkinssays, hey, this is probably Dave
Robinson's last game, so he's gonnaget more minutes. I say, cool,
I want to plan. But hedidn't play me at all till like
the last two minutes. Yes,so I got put in the last two
minutes. I was so pissed offafter the ceremony, I drove home in
my uniform and I threw the damnmedal at the window. You still have

(50:42):
the gold medal now on the highwayseventy five. No, I was so
mad that gold medal would be No. I thought it away very in a
very safe Anny and Uncle Jerome,he was in the car. I didn't
even we went to the hotel.I'd go to him, go to get
my I still have my uniform andby the time I hit the uniformly so
he was that the Atlanta Games. Was he driving back to Orlando ninety six?

(51:05):
Yes, he was driving from Atlantato Orlando. Okay, yeah,
that's a doable drive. Yeah, you figure your shack. Why are you
driving back? Someone who picked thatup here's that now knows where that metal
came from. It was either cruiseor you know, it's only one side
of the road. Right side hasto be on his shoulder, right.
I mean, there's somewhere you're drivingfrom where to where, Atlanta to Orlando

(51:30):
on the road. Somewhere on thehighway there's an Olympic gold medal? Has
it been found? I don't lovethat for you. Yeah. They asked
him right at the very end, they said, do you regret it?
Yes? No, no, no, I know. Yeah, he's got
other things going for him. Iwonder if I believe it. Though me

(51:51):
too, I had the same thought. Do you believe that he actually did
that? Or is he just doingthat for the podcast, the showboating for
the Pond. I don't know ifhe would do that for the podcast.
I think he's got a lot offun stories. I think Quille and You'm
an actor. Yes, well, not a good one, though, that
sounded believable. Hey, basketball related. In my fever induced haze yesterday,

(52:15):
I didn't realize until I guess earlythis morning that the Celtics will finish with
the league's best record and have homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, which I
kind of suspected, but I didn'tknow that it was official now because again
I've been out of it for twoand hours. Oh right, yeah,
yeah, yeah. They quenched thatthe other night. But what's worrisome to
me? So the Celtics will hostSacramento tomorrow night. I'm sorry today at

(52:37):
seven thirty. That's Friday. See, see what I'm saying. The fog,
You're still catching up. The fogis there? So yeah, And
they said both Jalen Brown and Ithink Perzingis are both questionable. They know
Derek White Derek White and Jaylen Brownare questionable. Jaylen Brown and Porzingis have
been questionable, That's what I'm saying, like the last month they have been.
But then Jalen Brown went out oneof those nights he was questionable and

(53:00):
led the team and score with thirtytwo or thirty five or something like that.
So is this a tactical move byMissoula to like rest these guys appropriately
now that they're coming into the homestretch. Could or is there something more
of a concern that we just don'tknow about, because let's face it,
without Jaylen Brown and Derek White,I don't think they're going for number eighteen.
Oh really, as deep as theyare, they are deep, they

(53:22):
still need these guys. Yeah,I mean they are integral parts of the
show, absolutely, But I meanthey run deep. I could see maybe
Jalen Brown not being available. Thatwould be big question. Mark Pete,
let me ask you, you knowoff the record here, is you put
any Sandwiches on the Celtics future.I have the future sham ruins. Yeah,
I haven't looked at it in awhile, and I usually make those

(53:43):
at the beginning of the year.I can't even tell you what they pay
unless I see him in front, because they did it so long ago.
I want you to check a futurefor me right now, to see if
the Boston red Hawks will finish theseason more than eighty six wins. You
can't make eight on you can't.You can only make bet before the season
starts. Why don't you tell methese things? Sorry, agrees. If

(54:05):

which technically was last year, butthey did make the announcement, and then
this year they just launched nine oftheir studio albums on gold vinyl or right,

of those corner gold brokers and cashthem in a gold colored vinyl, which

two will try to pick that out. Oh yeah, yeah, I met
the collections like one of those things. You know. I remember when the

like limited when they did remastered versionslike Red and Blue vinyl and stuff like
this. Well, listen, I'mhappy to be back here, and I'm
