Speaker 1 (00:00):
Moonbats, the media, Democrats, liberals everywhere are melting down. Why
because Trump has decided to defund Big Bird in particular,
he has now decided to end all federal funding for NPR,
for PBS, the whole thing. Many Republicans have talked about it.
(00:26):
Trump is the only one that has the guts to
do it. And why because NPR and PBS have become,
in essence, a left wing, pro Democrat, anti Trump propaganda outlets.
That's what NPR and PBS essentially are.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
They push politics, they are woke.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
They have politicized almost every aspect of their programming and
their news coverage. It's corrupt fake news. Now, that's their right.
If they want to be left wing, anti American, anti
Trump shills for the Democratic Party, that's their business. But
(01:11):
they don't have a right or acclaim on our taxpayer money.
And for decades, and I mean decades, American taxpayer dollars
have gone to the tune of billions and billions to
underwrite and subsidize.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Both PBS and NPR.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Trump is now saying the gravy train is over, and
he is completely right. NPR and PBS have been saying
for I don't know how many years that federal funding
is only one percent of their overall funding budget. If
that's the case, you should be easily be able to
(01:52):
make that way that the difference in the in the
shortage of money, go to your Hollywood friends, go to
your billionaire left wing Democrats supporters. Have them cut a check,
or ask the listeners to cut a check. In other words,
make up the money somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
But this is not an attack on the.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Free press, as NPR is claiming, or an attempt by
Trump to control or censor the media. He doesn't care
what NPR does or what it says. The same goes
for PBS. You can have freedom of the press, but
you don't have the right to our money to subsidize
(02:36):
NPR or PBS, or for that matter, any other media outlet.
The Kooner Report, this show. We don't get money from
the government. Fox News it doesn't get money from the government.
Rush Limbaugh, all the years he was on the air,
he never got a dime in federal money. So why
(02:57):
should NPR and why should PBS. In other words, you
want to be fake news, fine, do it on your
time and your dime. But the taxpayers have given them
enough in fact, no media outlets should get any taxpayer money.
No TV network, no TV station, no radio system, no
(03:21):
radio channel. No one should get a red cent in
taxpayer dollars. Sink or swim. And that's the problem. There
is no difference anymore between CNN, MSNBC, CBS News, ABC News,
NBC News, The New York Times, the Washington Post. I
(03:45):
could go on and on, the Boston Globe, and the
liberal left wing drek, the garbage and propaganda that spews
out daily from both NPR and PBS. They can't compete
on their own because what they're selling is what others
(04:06):
are selling, and most Americans are not buying. We should
not be underwriting or giving our hard earned money to
fake news. If PBS and NPR can do it on
their own, great, If not, they'll go bankrupt. In other words,
they have no one to blame but themselves. For years,
(04:30):
conservatives have been saying, we want objectivity, non partiality. We
want PBS and NPR to reflect the entire viewpoints of
the entire country. If you're going to take federal dollars,
there are strings attached, and one of them is we
(04:51):
want objective news reporting, not left wing rants and opinions
masquerading as new not Democrat partisanship masquerading as honest, good journalism,
and NPR and PBS ignored the cries of conservatives for
(05:14):
decade after decade after decade. Well now the American people
have said, we've had enough. Sesame Street can survive on
its own. It's a multi billion dollar brand known across
the entire world. Even if PBS goes under, trust me,
(05:37):
Big Bird, Elmo, and my favorite, the Cookie Monster. They
will all be safe. But the news division not so much.
And PBS and NPR have no one else to blame
but themselves.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Let them go under. Good riddance.
