Maura Healey Wants to Gerrymander Massachusetts

the bottle. She's stone cold serious, Governor. Hold it more
a Heally. Just when you thought more on Healey couldn't
get more moronic. She held a press conference on Tuesday
saying that what's happening in Texas is giving her no choice,

but she has to jerry vander Massachusetts and redistrict even
more of our political map here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
As you know, Texas now is at ground zero in
a jerry mandering war. The state legislature, supported by the

Republican governor, want to do what Democrats have done well
here or Illinois or California, or New Jersey or New
York or Maryland or the state of Washington, which is
to jerry mander their state, redistrict their state so they
can get more Republican seats in Congress, as the Democrats

have piled up about an extra twenty five to thirty
seats by gerrymandering those six states that I just mentioned.
So fearing now that the House Republican majority could easily
go from three which is what it is now, to
potentially plus eight in the next midterm election. Once this

redistricting plan is voted on. The Democrats in Texas have
done the unthinkable. They literally have just left the state.
They just left, preventing a quorum, preventing the state legislature
from voting on this redistricting plan, and essentially paralyzing the
entire government. Now the FBI is threatening to arrest these

fifty plus Texas state lawmakers who are being holed up
in hotels in Illinois here in mad and California and
other states. The FBI is threatening to arrest them, send
them back to Texas, vacate their seats so they can
get a quorum, and then proceed with the vote on

the redistricting plan. This is an absolute fiasco, a clown
show of the highest order. But what is even a
bigger clown show is that Moray Heally now, says Ken Paxton,
the Texas AG Greg Abbott, the Texas Governor, the Republicans

in the Texas State House have now given her no
choice in response to Texas, she has to further jerrymander
the political map here in Massachusetts. But there's only one problem.
What the hell is there to redistrict of the nine
House seats, the nine members that Massachusetts sends to the

House of Representatives. All are controlled by Democrats. It is
nine Democrats to zero Republicans. And of course, in the
last election, Trump got nearly forty percent of the vote,
so if there was any fair representation, it would be

not nine zero but more like six to three six
Democrats three Republicans. But no, because of redistricting i e. Jerrymandering,
they have so drawn the districts in this state that,
for example, my district, the fourth Congressional District, which I

live on the tip of the Rhode Island border, five
minutes away from the Rhode Island border. My district, it
goes all the way from southern Massachusetts ninety minutes by
car north to cover Brookline, to cover Newton, to cover
parts on the outskirts of Boston, all of it to

make sure it's in the control of Democrats, while scooping
up enough Republican votes so that you can't get a
solid Republican district. It's nine zero Democrat. In the Senate,
it's two zero democrat. In total, it's eleven zero Democrat.
What the hell else is there to redistrict? You want

to redistrict the state House even more the State Senate.
Even More, there are barely three Republican state Senators. There's
a handful about twenty of them in the state House.
The Democrats already have not just majorities, super majorities in
both the State House and the State Senate. Up on

a pathetic joke. And rather than fix the real problems
in this state, her sanctuary policies, the runaway crime, the
soaring energy costs that taxpayers are fleeing this state because

aliens that are now costing taxpayers billions of dollars. She
wants to play these ridiculous political games in order to
try to highlight her national profile because in her diluted mind,
she thinks she's got a shot at running for president

and that's saying something
