Speaker 1 (00:00):
Six one seven two six six sixty eight sixty eight
is the number. Okay, Happy Veterans Day to all of
our incredible vets. By the way, we just gave a
nice number out to Rick and Cambridge. Rick, if you're
still listening, please call that number. They are going to
help you. Okay, So all the vets out there, you
(00:21):
have to be willing to help yourself. Once you can
want to help yourself, there are organizations in people that
will be more than happy to help you. So please,
you are entitled to these benefits. You deserve these benefits.
You've earned these benefits. Please reach out, ask for help.
(00:41):
People will help CJ in Boston. Thanks for holding CJ,
and welcome.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
First, let'd be start by saying, jeff On behalf of
all veterans. We salute you, your staff, r KO, and
iHeart to your continuing support for all of that veterans,
especially the special that you did for the DAV. The
DAV is a fantastic organization. I know when I needed help,
I went to the da V. So let's start with
(01:11):
thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Thank you CJ, and again thank you for your service.
H please keep going.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
PPE you know I think his criticism criticism criticism of Trump.
You know, Trump should just give him a response to
quote Ronald Reagan. You know, mister Pope, kid on that wall,
kid on that thirty foot wall, that I'll isolate you
from the rest of Italy. Uh. You know, the the
Catholic charities as well as other Christian organizations have made
(01:40):
a ton of money off illegal aliens. And and that's
all it's that's all that's ever about his money. It's
all that's ever about his money. You know, it's Verdie
saying this was screaming the other day, how how there's
Obamacare and cost in insurance. They were so concerned about
his constituents going up that thing. He gave us twenty
(02:00):
five thousand dollars. But what they feel, to mention to
the Democratic counterparts, is that the illegals are getting all
this for free, and that they're paying for it. They're
smart enough to realize that they're paying for that. Not
only that, Jef, you fail to mention the cell phones
that are free. How about the interpreters in the courthouses
(02:23):
throughout the car Mo Wealth of Massachusetts. For every language
you need a different interpreter. What do you think is
paying for that? That is why. I think one of
the one of the concerns that the administration Trump administration
has to address as people coming into this country who
do not speak English. If you do not speak English,
(02:44):
you can't come into this country, get a green cod,
go to work, or ever even think of becoming a citizen.
That should be that should be a disqualifier right off
the bat. The second thing that he should do is
every federal publication that has put out should be put
out in English only, in English only. What's happening now
(03:08):
is the watering down on major cities in a country
to cowtail to people who do not even think about
assimilating and becoming United States citizens and appreciating what we
have in this country. They hate this country, Jeff. But
(03:29):
there are patriots. There are more than seventy seven million
patriots who voted for Donald J. Trump last year. That's
because they realize that he was the only hope that
this country had for survival, which to elect him president
of the United States. And look what he's done. They
scream on tariffs two hundred We're expected to take in
(03:53):
two hundred billions that would a bee this year in tariffs,
of which the president is thinking about giving two thousand
dollars to every working household in this country. But he
is getting he's getting flack, he's getting pushed back from
from from these liberal district court judges and federal judges.
(04:17):
And I believe that there was an announcement made that
they're going to try to impeach these judges. And that
is a good thing because I think once they were
impeached them the judges have brought against them for impeding
federal law, then I think they can be pulled off
the bench until their case is are resolved. So just
(04:39):
let me say, Jiff, you know, on this Veterans Day,
I'd like to wish all my fellow veterans the best.
You know, we try to get together on Veterans Day.
I belong to a number of organizations. One very special
one is the ITM American Legion, which is in East Boston.
They have a museum in there, a war mus It's
(05:00):
a beautiful place. It's at sixty Paris Street. They have
ceremonies today, be the beginning at eleven. All veterans and
non veterans are welcome. And again, Jeff, the veterans of
this country cannot thank you enough for your voice.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Oh it's thank you, No, thank you CJ again, thank
you for your service. And it's the least that I
can do, really, truly, the least I can do. It's
truly my pleasure.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
CJ.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Thank you very very much for that call. No, look, CJ,
you're right. They're trying to block Trump at every turn.
It's just incredible. And you know, you know the Wall
Street Journal. I don't want to get two sidetracked on
the tariffs. We can talk about it another time. But
they're pooh poohing this idea that Trump wants to give
every American household, middle working class home a two thousand
(05:46):
dollars check from the tariffs. And they're like, well, how
what's two thousand dollars? Well, yeah, sure, if you're a multimillionaire,
two thousand bucks is nothing. It's dipping money. But for
a lot of middle working class families, look, let me
ask all of you, you know, as I like to say,
treat me like an illegal. So they can get four
(06:07):
thousand dollars a month, every month cash, but you can't
give us a one time two thousand dollars check from
the tariffs. Like that's what that's too much? Now, you know,
I'm not saying two thousand dollars and oh my god,
it solves all my problems. But I would like it to.
Wouldn't you like a two thousand dollars check?
Speaker 2 (06:28):
I know?
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Or I would use the two thousand dollars. I could
use a little bit of relief. Could you use a
little bit of relief? So they're going on about you know,
oh this is a drop in the bucket. Oh, this
won't do anything with you know, higher prices and no,
but it'll help. And what's wrong with a little help?
Why is it that, for once, instead of giving the
(06:49):
money to welfare, deadbeats or illegal aliens or criminals, we
actually give some money back to the people who work
hard and pay taxes. I mean, what, we can't get it.
Everybody else can get a four thousand dollars every illegal
can get a four thousand dollar check, but we can't
get a two one time two thousand dollars check. No,
(07:12):
send us the money. Honestly, I think we deserve it.
Jeff Cooner, Boston's bulldozer.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Again.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I just want to tell you what an honor and
a privilege it is to be behind this microphone, on
this wonderful veterans day, and again to all of our wonderful,
incredible vets out there, thank you for your service, your patriotism,
your sacrifice. The country cannot repay you enough. And speaking
(07:39):
of sacrifices, we make sacrifices all the time, not to
the level of the vets obviously, but hardworking, tax paying
American citizens every day, you know, every week, every month,
every year. And President Trump and I don't want to
linger on this, I want to go back to the
phone lines. But he's now talking about a tariff rebate,
(08:03):
or at one time, tariff rebate check two thousand dollars
to every middle working class family. And the left is
going berserk. The establishment Republicans are I mean, they're just
lashing them. They're i mean, viscerating Trump. And of course
you've got Fox bit. Fox News is poo pooing it.
(08:23):
The Wall Street Journal is poo pooing it. The financial
papers are pooh pooing it. You know, Oh, this won't
really address the cost of living issue. No, but it's
a nice two thousand dollars check, and it'll help with
the groceries, it'll help with rent, it'll help with heating bills,
or electricity bills or whatever, or clothing if you have children,
(08:44):
or whatever it is. Why can't we get a check
once in a while, you know, I mean it's frankly,
it's our money anyway, so why can't we get a
little bit of it back? And I just want to
read this message I got from Eric on messenger because
I think he makes a stupendous point. Jeff, if Trump
(09:05):
was giving two thousand dollars to every illegal immigrant, Democrats
wouldn't say a damn word. Hypocrisy at its best, Bingo, Eric, Bingo.
You know, if Trump came out and said, you know what, no,
four thousand dollars a month for those of you in Massachusetts,
(09:25):
all you illegals, it's not enough. I'm going to give
you a one time extra two thousand dollars, I don't know,
bonus check, because you know your diversity. It just helps
our country so much. Really, diversities are great strength, according
to the Moonbats. So I'm going to give you for
your diversity, here's an extra two thousand dollars. You think
(09:48):
they'd be complaining'd Oh.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually agree
with Trump. There's a humanity to him I've never seen before.
The left would be like, oh my god, I can't
believe this. Whoa, it's just a new Trump that's emerging.
But if it's two thousand dollars, you know, for the peasants,
for you and me, for the so called deplorables, all
(10:13):
of a sudden, it's wasteful. Oh my god, it won't
solve a thing.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
It's counterproductive, it's a waste of money. Suddenly they're all
deficit hawks when a little bit of our own money
comes back to us. No, if you're listening, mister President,
send Jeff Coooner a two thousand dollars TIRA freebate check
and I'll say a big thank you. Send it to
everybody in Cooner country. Send it to every middle working
(10:41):
class home in America. Believe me, we could use every
little bit, and it'd be nice that somebody sends us
a check once in a while. I'm just saying, I mean,
we are the backbone of this nation. I don't know,
throw us a bone once in a while. David in
Ashland agreed. Disagree. David in Ashland, Thanks for holding David
(11:04):
and welcome.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Thanks Jeff. I have three points three points. I'm a
disabled the Vietnam era VET, and in twenty twenty four
I went to open a claim and I was told
by the Veteran Service officer that the criteria has changed,
that the VA has made it stricter, and part of
(11:30):
that was because money had been transferred out of the
VA to the migrants, which kind of picked me off.
I looked at the criteria because I'm a registered nurse.
The criteria for blood pressure that was like blood pressure
had to be like one eighty or two hundred systolic
(11:51):
in order to get like a I think it was
like forty percent disability. The other thing is my other
point is why does the governor appoint the secretary general
and the deputy secretary in Massachusetts. I don't understand why
(12:12):
the president wouldn't do that, or the federal government. And
then my third point, I hate to burst your bubble.
I agree with CJ regarding phones and interpreters, but I
can tell you I know so many illegals that work
under the table. I know someone that got picked up
and by ice taken to New York and a significant
(12:34):
other was going to his the contractor that he was
working for to collect a thirty two thousand dollars. Check.
I know someone that worked for Lyft that was in
Boston last weekend just for the night, made three thousand dollars.
They're all illegals. They're working under the table, So one
eighty six is low balling what a lot of these
(12:56):
individuals are making.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Incredible well, David, I mean that's a very good point.
I mean, that's one of the things here. I just
had my grocery store. I mean it's you know, at
my local grocery store. You see them in these brand
new pickup trucks. Sty' all illegals, brand new pickup trucks, Jeeps, SUVs.
These are fifty sixty seventy thousand dollars vehicles, and I
(13:20):
see them loading up their carts. Usually it's two carts,
and it's either they pay with food stamps or EBT.
And it's because they're all working under the table. You know,
many in construction, but whatever. They're working in restaurants or
in landscaping or whatever, so they collect all these welfare benefits.
And on top of that, they're working under the table
(13:40):
and they're making good money and it's all tax free.
So you're completely right, David, and look that story that
you said about the VA. This is what I mean
when I say these migrants are robbing us blind. You know,
you served in Vietnam, You're a disabled veteran owed that money,
(14:01):
You're entitled to that money. You deserve that help. So
what you know, now they're going to raise blood pressure
to what two hundred and two twenty? Like what do
they want your head to explode?
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Like?
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Really, no, my blood pressure is so high my head
is about to literally just blow. Is that okay? Now?
Will you actually help me out? You know, David, I'm
not trying to pour gasoline on the fire. I'm just
trying to highlight what, to me is such a I mean,
it's disgraceful. I'm sorry, it's evil, it's wrong. How is
(14:35):
it that an illegal alien his family or her family
can be getting minimum one hundred and eighty six thousand
dollars a year and have their entire healthcare coverage paid for,
and a guy like you who served our country in
Vietnam and is disabled, you can't even get basic blood pressure,
(14:57):
you know, help with your blood pressure. It's just so wrong.
In other words, literally, if you went to uh, you know,
if you went to Mora Healy and said, you know,
to the Massachusetts government, Hi, I'm David. I come from Vietnam.
I didn't fight in Vietnam. I come from Vietnam, and
(15:20):
i'm illegally here from Vietnam. They would treat you a
thousand times better than David from Ashland who fought for
our country in Vietnam. The world is upside down. We're
living in the twilight zone and it's unacceptable. It's just
I'm sorry, it's just somethings in life are unacceptable. This
is it, David. Final word to you.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Well, at this point, I am in a post traumatic
stress program and again I'm filing. You know, I filed
the claim. But it's also you know, you got to
you know, I mean, I'm a nurse, so I know
the criteria. I mean, I know called lingo because I
had to take care of patients and I was a
case manager and I dealt with the food stamps and
(16:07):
everything else, and you know, the seniors did not. The
seniors are being left out. And what happens is that
the you know, the deep state is basically just saying, well,
it's you know, you're hurting, you know, you're hurting the elderly. Well, yeah,
you've been hurting them right along, you know, and your dollar.
It is is what they want to give the money
to the migrants, and you know that's I just hate
(16:29):
it because it's wrong.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
It's so wrong, and it's a betrayal. It's a betrayal
of you. It's a betrayal of our veterans. It's a
betrayal of our senior citizens. It's a betrayal of the taxpayers.
It's a betrayal of all Americans. And that's why you
feel that punch in the gut, because that's how we
all feel. David. I want to thank you again for
(16:52):
your service, your bravery, your patriotism. And look, we got
to take our state back. We're going to have to
take it back, and I'm going to do everything in
my power to do that. So under a new administration
which is going to be pro veteran, pro military, pro taxpayer,
pro American, Happy Veterans Day to all of our incredible
(17:15):
vets from the COONERMN. Six one seven two six six
sixty eight sixty eight is the number. Julie in Quinsy.
Thanks for holding Julie and welcome Hello Julie. All right,
let's see if we can reconnect with Julie Caroline in
(17:36):
New Hampshire. Thanks for holding Caroline and welcome.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Hi. Thank you for taking my call, Jeff my pleasure, Caroline. Yeah,
I love your show. It's it's amazing today.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
I just want you welcome. My dad was a World
War Two veteran, and when I heard you speaking this
morning about that World War two veteran in England and
how he felt, really brought me back to how my dad.
He died in nineteen eighty seven. But I really feel
that in his eyes I could see a person that
(18:12):
also wondered why did he go through what he went through.
He first, he was born in nineteen twenty three, so
he went through the Depression as well. And he lived
in Cambridge, mass right near Mount Avern Cemetery, and that
was the slums back then and now it's multi million
dollar homes. I actually went back to the old house
(18:33):
so I used to live. I saw the outside and
it's amazing. But at any rate, then World War one
two came along and he went in the Navy and
they shipped him off to Tarawa and he was there
the second day. It was a three day battle. And
I mean he had it pretty bad. I think I
(18:55):
I didn't know. He never talked about it till after
he died. I was only nineteen when he died, and
he was a radio man. So he was in a
fox hole on the island for two days. Uh. And
then he had burial duty and it was just terrific.
He had to bury parts of people. By the grace
(19:18):
of God, they are bringing people back now and burying
them in Arlington Cemetery and giving them their you know,
righteous burial. But anyways, then he had severe PTSD and
he went back to Hawaii and he was there in
a hospital for a year. And you know, again I
(19:39):
didn't know anything about it. He never mentioned anything but
growing up. Sorry this is just a little emotional, but
he was a broken man when I was. He had
a lot of kids, and when I was the last
one he was. The PTSD came back and he had
(20:02):
a lot of anxiety depression. But it wasn't just because
of that. I think that, I mean, he didn't have had.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
Memories, but I think that he was wondering.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Because he had. There were comments that he made. I
didn't get along with them. From the age of eleven.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
On because he had difficulties, and so did I, and
I took on his anxiety and depression not knowing and
I later read sent away for his records and I
realized what he had gone through.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
I actually went to Hawaii. I went to a place
called Camp Taro on the Big Island where they actually
trained for it and Oahu. Anyways, he died of mesothelioma
because I later found out that they lined the ships
the pipes with asbestos, and they knew. I met a
girl on the jury just see, you know, they did
(20:55):
know that asbestos. The records are all there. She was
on the jury for aspastist trial. So a lot of
these navy men died from asbestos, and.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
The military knew that it was bad for their lungs. No, look,
that's there. I mean, I don't want to sugarcoat the past.
You know, we think, you know, they they sacrificed a
lot of men. They just did. When World War One
and World War Two, our leaders then were not what
the press made them out to be. They just weren't.
(21:29):
I mean, there were some great men, but there were
also some horrible men. I'm not a big fan of
Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I've said this a million times, but
I don't want to get political right now over this. No,
I feel very sorry because our vets are used, they're abused,
We send them off to wars and then we basically
often we just forget about them, and many of them
(21:51):
come back with severe PTSD. And look, I know this
not that my father ever participated in a war, but
he was in a Communist concentration camp. And my grandfather
participated in a war was in Europe, it wasn't for
the United States, and he was in a Nazi camp
and in a Communist slave labor camp. And I'm telling you,
(22:12):
both my grandfather and my father suffered from PTSD, very
severe PTSD. And the way they dealt with it was
they smoked. I mean they also used alcohol. They drank wine,
but not to an excess at least my grandfather didn't.
My father drank a lot, but he could hold his water,
you know, he could hold his liquor. But they smoked,
(22:34):
and that was one of the ways they coped. And
that's I don't want to get off track, but you know,
I often say, well, this person smokes too much, and
I'm like, you don't know what they're going through. You
just don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
You know.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Churchill suffered from PTSD after his experiences in war, and
when asked, why do you drink so much? Why do
you smoke so much? He said, you don't understand. If
I don't drink and if I don't smoke, I'm dead
because of the massive stress that I keep getting these
panic attacks NonStop. So the only way I can cope
with it is through cigars and drinking. And you know,
(23:11):
we still have managed to live a long life. But
to bring it all full circle, look what our vets endure.
Nobody else can imagine. The bloodshed, the agony, the dead bodies,
the pain, the terror, the suffering, the death. And so
(23:32):
many of them do come back broken. It's just a fact.
And that's why we owe it to them to give
them the best healthcare, to give them the best benefits,
to honor them, to remember them, to commemorate them, and yes,
to put them first.
